News24 - Top 10 central defenders of the Premier League season so far - Duration: 8:04.

No Premier League side has ever been successful without a solid defence.  And at the heart of that defence has to be a centre-back capable of keeping the best attackers in check

Twenty years ago, managers wanted defenders who could win headers, tackles and dominate opponents in the penalty area

Now, the elite need to mix that power and aggression with poise on the ball and an ability to play out from the back under pressure

Here's Mirror Football's top 10 Premier League defenders of the season so far. 10

Conor Coady (Wolverhampton Wanderers)  Wolves captain Coady has been a key part of Wanderers smart start to life back in the Premier League, operating at the heart of a back three

One of the most vocal players anywhere in the division, he's an excellent organiser, reads the game well and doesn't hesitate to snap into a tackle when the ball is there to be won

Also a fine long passer out from the back, his ability to hit a 40-yard diagonal out to his side's wing-backs has been key to Wolves' attacking play

9. Nathan Ake (Bournemouth)  Nathan Ake swept the awards at Bournemouth's end-of-season shindig last year and the Dutchman has been outstanding again this season for Eddie Howe's men

Tottenham are monitoring the Dutchman, who has been rock solid at the heart of the Cherries defence

Quick over the ground and with a cultured left foot, he has impressed in both a back three and a back four this term

8. Issa Diop (West Ham United)  A number of clubs looked at Issa Diop over the summer but baulked at the fees being asked by Toulouse for the 21-year-old; West Ham didn't, and his displays for the Hammers have justified their decision

After a difficult start to the season, Diop has excelled at the London Stadium, forming a solid partnership alongside Fabien Balbuena

He's good one-v-one, is quick, decisive and uses the ball well. Standing 6ft 4in also, if he continues his upward trajectory then the France Under-21 international has an extremely bright future

7. Shkodran Mustafi (Arsenal)  Perhaps the biggest beneficiary of Arsene Wenger's Emirates exit and the arrival of Unai Emery, Mustafi has looked a totally different player under the Spaniard this term

Used in both a back three and a back four, he's been much improved in a defence that looks more certain of what it is meant to be doing, and getting greater protection than in previous years; he's been Arsenal's best defender this term, showing greater personality at the heart of their defence

6. John Stones (Manchester City)  After an impressive World Cup, the £50million centre-half has been a key man once more for Manchester City and their style of play

Stones has always been comfortable on the ball, but there's now a harder edge to his play, a player ready to make the tactical foul or no nonsense clearance where needed; it hasn't always been that way

Has come on leaps and bounds under Pep Guardiola and while he might not quite be at last year's level - when he was simply awesome - he's still having a fine season

5. Joe Gomez (Liverpool)  The former Charlton youngster showed in the early part of the season just why Jurgen Klopp has been so big on him for so long

Liverpool fans have had to be patient during a couple of years punctuated by injury, but given a run at centre-back - before fracturing his leg against Burnley - Gomez was an outstanding foil for Virgil van Dijk, reading the game well, using his speed to snuff out danger before it arose and being more willing to mix it physically with opposing strikers

4. Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea)  Chelsea's switch to a back four from a back three under Maurizio Sarri has benefited German defender Antonio Rudiger perhaps more than anyone

Having been asked to operate on the left side of defence by Antonio Conte, he is now playing as the right-sided centre-half this term and has been very impressive; is using his recovery speed to great effect in a team playing a high back line

Has also been dominant aerially. 3. Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham Hotspur)  For whatever reason, the Belgian international found himself out of favour with Maurico Pochettino last season

This year, he's been back to his very best.  Whether alongside compatriot Jan Vertonghen or Davinson Sanchez, Alderweireld has been a consistent presence at the back for Spurs, winning headers, putting his body on the line and starting moves from deep

No Spurs player has made more blocks or clearances than the ex-Ajax man so far. 2

Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City)  The most baffling thing in world football right now?  Aymeric Laporte continuing to be overlooked by France boss Didier Deschamps

The ex-Athletic Bilbao defender isn't fancied by Deschamps because 1) he prefers Samuel Umtiti, and 2) he doesn't particularly like how sure of himself Laporte is

But Pep Guardiola won't care one iota about that situation, with Laporte having been outstanding for City this term; powerful in the air, quick across the ground and good with the ball at his feet, he is now City's No

1 centre-half. After his displays this term, he only just misses out on No.1 on our list

1. Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)  Right now, the question isn't whether Virgil van Dijk is the best defender in the Premier League; it's whether he's the best in the world?  The difference the £75million Dutchman has made to Liverpool's backline is scary; he's the one ensuring standards don't slip, dominating in the air, verbally dictating to teammates where they should be and when and right now there is no centre-half better in one-vs-one situations than he; he's averaging over five clearances per game

Additionally, his oft-overlooked ability to pass through the lines ensures he can also get his side moving as an attacking force

Quite simply, he's got the lot.

Why James Charles Apologizes So Much for Drama - Duration: 10:53.

hi sisters today we're going to be talking about why James Charles has to

apologize so damn much what is up everybody this is Chris from the rewired

soul where we talk about the problem but focus on the solution and if you're new

to my channel my channel is all about mental health what I like to do is

pulled in with topics from the YouTube community try to teach you how to

improve your mental and emotional well-being so make sure you subscribe

and bring that notification bell real quick I've had a ton of amazing requests

from all of you the last few days there's a lot of cool stuff happening

already in 2019 ah best thing that you can do is follow me on Instagram and

Twitter it's the exact same handle at the rewired soul so you know when I post

new videos because some of you have requested be talking about different

shows or movies or YouTube situations or whatever and tie it in to mental health

so make sure that you're following me on social media so you don't mess it all

right so the the bulk of this video we're going to be talking about James

Charles we're gonna be talking about anger we're gonna be talking about

impulse control this is actually a continuation of the video I did just the

other day about the psychology of James Charles drama a lot of you love that

video because I did a lot of neuroscience in it so I'm gonna try to

do some more but this is more of a continuation so if you would like to

click up in the info card I'm gonna link that video I did as well

alright so anyways some people are you know painting James Charles as a

hypocrite because today he and Jeffree Star just released their video where they're

pretty much destroying a bunch of makeup palettes now real quick before I jump

into this like can we talk can we just talk about Jeffree star for one second

so on snapchat Jeffree said this alright and you guys know I'm gonna

start off the new year with a bang tomorrow I'm uploading my first video of

2019 featuring a sister James Charles it is a good one we got the sledgehammers

ready and the flamethrower and miss mama just wait until you see what really

happens you know there is a lot of speculations so much T like James got

mad about a girl destroying his palette how dare him girl wait till watch the

video cuz you don't know what instincts and then this happened

it's time to move on baby because in 2019 or vaccinating our kids really

Jeffrey alright alright so I think I think what Jeffree was referring to

about this video not being what you think it is I'm really cool Jeffree Star and

James Charles announced that they're both donating $25,000 each

to women shelters in Los Angeles which is awesome very very very very cool but

today we're going to be talking about impulse control and anger and all of

that so one thing that is very well-known of James Charles is the drama

he's had this year in 2018 but he always apologizes alright so we're gonna be

talking about why he apologizes so much I'm gonna use some of my own experience

and you might be able to relate to it as well so the first lesson I want to teach

all of you the very first lesson those like the best lesson we can all learn

from James Charles aside from like blending and like what else does James

Charles teach you Tristan like how to put on like this stuff up here on the

eyes yeah you know what I'm talking about

the best lesson that we can learn from him is this the second you experience an

emotion is not the time to post on Twitter let me repeat that

the second you experience an emotion is not the time to tweet something out so

James had a little bit of an issue with another influencer because she destroyed

his palette but that's exactly what James Charles did in this video

but James kind of explained it away like this well I just got into a scandal

regarding this actually because there was a video circulating of a girl who

destroyed my palette and when I first saw I got really hurt by it yeah

obviously I had worked on it for so long and also too it's been sold everywhere

so all you to give her all right beats that were so upset of people that

couldn't get it and I was again I got this go away just to destroy it but

after a further thought like once she was getting hate comments which is so

not okay and anyway perform so I felt really bad but - like it's her money and

you can do what you want with it and like I just it was I hurt at first but I

was like let me get over this it's not that deep so

cortex is still developing and part of this is impulse control this is one of

the reasons James Charles tweets so many things out

that combined with emotional regulation right James Charles feels some type of

way and his mind tells him a syphon ego and it's I'm not saying James Charles is

egotistical which he might be but our ego says that we're justified we need to

put this information out there we need to say something about this person right

and and James did this why when he found out the news and this is why it's so

important to meditate and develop your own pause button alright part of

meditation is strengthening your prefrontal cortex so you can pause and

make better decisions and this is so so so important because what happens to a

lot of us is that we come off like hypocrites so something that I didn't

talk about the other day when it comes to the prefrontal cortex is one of the

responsibilities of the prefrontal cortex is empathy

so what James Charles figured out later on was oh my god like you know he

actually put himself in Lauren's shoes he's like oh she bought it she can do

whatever she wants with it not about it now but in that moment when his emotions

were taking over he didn't have that type of empathy he couldn't see from her

side so here's a great example about how I work on my impulse control as well as

my emotions there was something that James Charles did I forgot which thing

it was it was months ago but I had a lot of people who wanted me to make a video

about James Charles tweeting something out and I just ignored it I didn't make

a video about it because basically what happened was somebody said something on

Twitter and James Charles clap back at him like sticking up for himself

defending himself he got a little sassy like if any of you follow me on Twitter

you see that I post comments that I reply to all the time where I'm clapping

back so think about it if I didn't have the impulse control like if my brain

says yeah Chris make a video on that just to get views if I didn't stop and

pause and think about it and think about James Charles situation try to put

myself in his shoes I ask myself why he did that

then I would have made a video then all of you would have came to me calling me

a hypocrite because I do the exact same thing and by the way I'm going to make a

video explaining why I do that because I think it's very

important that we talk about it because a lot of you understand why I do that

and some of you don't but I hope you're starting to understand why we need to

stop and pause because when our emotions are taking control we can become

hypocrites so like here's the thing like one of my biggest fears in life is being

a hypocrite and even though I love when you guys call me out I have my beautiful

girlfriend over here Tristan she really enjoys calling me out on stuff like I

try to pause and like think about the entire situation as a whole to make sure

that I'm not a hypocrite especially when I'm in a position that I'm in right not

only just you know being a youtuber but also when I'm talking to other people

about their mental health like it's hard for me to teach or preach something that

I'm not doing myself you see what I'm saying so something that I talked about

in my book rewire your anger is apologizing alright so let's talk about

this real quick James Charles like it's great it's great

to apologize but let me tell you this let me let me let you in on a little

secret about Chris I hate apologizing I don't know if you can relate to that but

I hate apologizing I hate it I hate it I do it but I hate it all right and you

know what the trick is to quit apologizing so much is quit doing things

you need to apologize for all right and that is why we need to control our

impulses as well as our emotions do you see what I'm saying

because when I don't have control over those things I keep doing a bunch of

wacky things that means I have to apologize to people and then I feel dumb

because I have to apologize for something so like I always tell you guys

I'm always trying to teach you guys mental health is more than just not

having a mental illness okay mental health is impulse control

mental health is controlling your anger you see what I'm saying so like I no

longer lash out on people and have to apologize for something I have really

done to apologies on my youtube channel with almost 700 videos and both of them

were very minor very minor there were more corrections and apologies but I did

understand why people might you know see what I was saying in a different way so

I went back and I corrected myself all right but I used to be a drug addict an

alcoholic constantly had to apologize to people

not only for like lying cheating and stealing right but a lot of it was from

my my anger my emotional outburst like when I first got sober I have so many

anger issues it's one of the reasons why I wrote my book rewire your anger I had

so many anger issues and I felt so bad like can you relate to that let me know

down in the comments below do you feel bad about the anger that you you

experience where you lash out on other people

cuz I felt bad about it and by the way that's proof that you're not a terrible

person because you actually feel bad about it but I would ask him be like man

what do i do I just freaked out on my mom and it was totally uncalled for

whatever and they said here go apologize and try to correct their behavior I'm

like Jerry I hate apologizing right so something that I learned was quit doing

stupid things that you have to apologize for so I hope you realize if you're new

to my channel this video isn't for James tall's this video is for you so if you

can relate to James Charles always having to apologize how about you start

going to therapy how about you start meditating you know what I mean how

about you start running your ideas past other people something that I do

constantly that y'all don't even know about really is that I'm constantly

running ideas past twisting for YouTube videos for tweets you know what I mean

like do you think this would cause a problem right because my ego says I

should do it but thank goodness Tristan has a very level head and that's maybe a

bad idea alright but anyways you shorten with

anger issues check out the description below there's some resources like my

book and some other stuff come to the discord server we have an entire chat

just for venting so you don't gotta tweet stuff out and then apologize later

alright that's all I got for this video if you

liked this video please give it a thumbs up if you new make sure you subscribe

and read that notification bell because I make a ton of videos and a huge huge

huge thank you to everybody supporting the channel over on patreon and by the

way if you are a patron go check out the tears because I just changed a bunch of

stuff there's a bunch of cool stuff that we're offering now such as group

sessions and one-on-one calls and all stuff like that alright thanks again for

watching and I'll see you next time

HAPPY NEW YEAR (2019) - My "Not-So-Short" Short Message - Duration: 18:52.

all right what's up what's up all right what's up what's up you guys so I'm

gonna make this quick Happy New Year Happy New Year everybody

yeah so right now actually I'm celebrating with my family downstairs I

don't know if you can hear the music but it's really hectic downstairs so I'm

gonna make this quick because I want to spend time with my family and yeah so

this is I just want to talk to you guys to sit down a little bit and talk to you

guys this is very on the spot this is I haven't prepared for this at all I actually

just put up this little mini studio thing not really it's a lamp but it's

doing the job and that's steps that's it so yeah Happy New Year everybody I hope

everybody's having a great time

everybody's here I mean my family my whole family's here so we're all

celebrating we're eating and everything so I'm gonna make this quick as quick as

I can as possible I guess so yeah happy new year today is officially the

very first day of 2019 and I think that's really exciting

disclaimer I've been battling a cold a really really bad cold these past few

days I hope you guys can hear me I know the music's playing in the background so

bear with me but yeah I've been battling a really bad cold these past few days

this thing has been my best friend literally as you guys know it's been

raining non-stop and I just got I just got back from a trip with my family

we went back to the province for the holidays and that was really fun I had a

yeah a good time but it's been so bad because of the rains and wasn't able to

surf like we planned to and that really bummed me out but um I'm really thankful

that I got to have that time with my family so I apologize in advance if I a

cop or if I sniff from time to time because I'm struggling I'm having such a

hard time it's officially the first day of 2019 and I can't believe that it's

already you know 2019 I feel like 2018 went by so fast

and so yeah I just want to talk to you guys a little bit about my 2018 and then

after that I want to tell you guys about what's next for me in 2019 so 2018 first

2018 has been a really challenging year for me I think what a lot of people 2018

was a a really different one it changed my life obviously but it was

in a way that was really like tough you know and like hard-hitting and like

those really like emotional breakdown and kind of like life-changing moments

so 2018 for me was really filled with all of that stuff a little bit of a

backstory this is something that I'm gonna share that not many people know

but I'm gonna let you guys know I'm gonna let you guys in on it just to be

clear this isn't gonna be like a rant video

that's not my intention I don't want around I actually don't want drama but

um I'm gonna say these things because firstly these are the things that I've

looked back to 2018 and I see all of these things and then you know some of

them I want to leave behind in 2018 and then some of them I'm going to share

because I want to show you to you guys what I've learned through through all of

it yeah from the very beginning from the start of 2018 it was already pretty

tough my birthday is on January 11th so that's like the second week of the whole

year a few days after my birthday my uncle

died that was really hard for me because my uncle and I were pretty close on top

of that I have this heart condition it's called mitral valve prolapse a lot

of people have it but for those who may not know it's a it's a condition where

the valve the heart doesn't close or open properly so sometimes like it hurts

in my case it does hurt I get palpitations and all that stuff

especially when I'm like emotionally stressed when I got super stressed out

my heart would hurt and during that time with my uncle and my

family it was on top of my midterms so I was super stressed out what school also

has I had a good sleep having a good rest emotionally just drained out and

because of that my heart started acting up and then I fainted and then I went to

the hospital so because of that 20:18 from me a large portion of it

actually maybe like half of it I spent it very depressed actually I I went

through this phase of depression just these thoughts in my mind you know like

why am i enough you know am i is there anybody there who listens who

understands that time for me just I just felt super alone you know a lot of you

don't know that because I've been I was posting like travel videos and whatever

but um that's the thing about social media sometimes people just share alike

one aspect of it and the one like aspect of their life and now you don't get to

see their struggles so um I don't want to be that kind of

like person who just you know just shows all of the good side you know I want to

be honest with myself with you guys especially in this community in this

platform because I treat this actually my videos as art an expression so you

know whatever's in me I want to express that you know

first and foremost I want to thank God because without him like I was I

wouldn't have like survived literally um even though I had like these thoughts in

my head there would always be like this still small voice who you know talked to

me in the back of my head calm me down telling me that you know I'm still loved

I'm still worth it and I'm still not alone you know and that for me was very

important um and I'm so thankful I had people in my life who reminded me of

those things who reminded me that God loved me reminded me that I wasn't alone

so did the people that stayed with me and really spend the time to listen to

me and understand me thank you from the bottom of my heart you guys you guys

know who you are I'm so blessed to have you guys in my life and um thank you all

so 2018 was a year of opportunities for me a lot of big opportunities a lot of

big doors opened up for me career-wise filmmaking wise it really put me in a

spot of like more maturity when it comes to those things yeah so there was a lot

of opportunities that came and I'm just so thankful for all that that whole time

in my life was just it just pushed me to do better and believe in myself more and

I think that's really important I just want to tell you guys that if you guys

are having a hard time if this time in your life right now is hard for you I

just want to let you know that you're not alone

and then it's only temporary and things do get better we should see trials in

our lives as lessons and something or not a means to punish us but it's mean

to teach us something to make us better and to well has it been out of focus the

whole time there yeah well like I've been saying to help us grow and help us

get stronger in our lives and uh today I just want to tell you guys that if I

were twenty eighteen was a hard time for you guys also I'm proud of you for

making it this far and I can't wait to share 2019 with all of you guys so that

being said 2019 this is the first day of 2019 January 1st so um let's own it you

know this year let's claim it that great things are coming for us the great

things are coming to us and that this year is the our year you know I'm

definitely claiming it I am definitely coming to this year a lot stronger a lot

smarter a lot wiser so um I'm I'm really thankful for that and um so what's next

for me in 2019 2019 I'm promising myself to put out more videos this year I'm

planning to do tutorials so watch out for that you go

you know do tutorials on filmmaking or photography editing all that stuff so

please please please watch out for that this year I just want to be healthier

physically mentally emotionally and spiritually I want to get to know God

more this year in a deeper way I'm just claiming that this is a year of

refreshing and just a year of you know breakthrough starting today

actually I'm gonna be editing my year 2018 so you guys watch out for that also

it's coming very soon I promise maybe early March or late February but um I'm

planning to make it the best video that I've made yet so I'm gonna work really

hard for that so I bear with me guys it's coming also

I'm gonna I just want to be more consistent with my content obviously I

can't post every week I guess because of my busy schedule but maybe like every

two weeks I hope I am you know I just I really want to be more consistent so

maybe like every two weeks all right I'm just flying like every month there's

gonna be at least two videos so more videos more tutorials

as much as I love to do blogs I don't know it's not really something that I

enjoy I enjoy making videos cinematic stuff more than you know vlogs but I

want to talk to you guys and there might be a few vlogs next this year so watch

out for those also so yeah I'm hoping for more opportunities in 2019 more

friends also so yeah I'm very hopeful for 2019 I'm coming into this year

extremely extremely hopeful despite I was the previous year and everything

that happened I think that I'm entering this year with a very light heart and a

really expected really um ready for it I guess so yeah I want to leave those

things behind in 2018 all the negativity and I just want to focus on like

positive things this year I'm just seeing the good and everything and this

is the part where I think everybody thank you guys um I'm not sure what my

subscriber count is today but I started the year with just a hundred like more

or less like a hundred subscribers now by the end of it I think I was like 7

last I checked it was like 750 so that's been amazing you guys thank you for

everybody who subscribed so um thank you guys for people who have stayed with me

this year who have gotten to know me this year thank you so much and I

promise that there is more to come I don't want to thank a few people

firstly Josh pin thank you so much man for being a huge part of my 2018

you know that you and I go way back and I'm so happy for you man I'm so

proud of you I wish nothing but the best for you and

uh watch out for a man 500 K a million subscribers next year I know it's coming

for you I know that you are gonna reach so much big heights so I'm just happy to

be part of your eternity man and I really thank you for being part of mine

I want to thank all of my friends you guys know who all of you are thank you

for sticking by me this year yeah there's so many people and I'm so

thankful for in my life you guys know who you are so thank you you guys are

the bomb thank you for believing in me also one thing with parents of course

for supporting me for letting me do all this crazy stuff in my life and for

doing what we're doing it with me especially me that I'm thinking to my

uncle my drone guy he helps me a lot with filming everybody who was ever been

in all of my videos thank you so much for being a part of me being a part of

my work so I never know how to end these things you know I'm so bad at ending

things so yeah I hope everybody's enjoying their new year's and I wish

everybody the best this year and I'm promising you guys very great things
