Half of Women Will Have Osteoporosis by Age 60 But Doing This Could Stop It from Happening

to You

In the glow of youth, we often dont worry about what our health will be like as we grow

older.

With more women dying from heart disease than ever before, and now half of the entire female

population being diagnosed with osteoporosis (loss of bone density) by the time they reach

age 60, its time to do something.

Like, now.

Whats even more worrisome is that 1 in 5 women will suffer a fall by the time they

are 60, and break their hip.

Due to osteoporosis, it could mean that the bones dont heal, and they never walk again.

Moreover, women as young as 20 are testing with low bone density.

Theres an incredibly simple solution though, and it just so happens to affect heart disease

risk, too.

Become Vegetarian or Vegan

It may sound shocking and completely unrelated, but here are some interesting facts about

why becoming a vegetarian could dramatically reduce your risk for this disease:

The excessive consumption of meat is causing bone density loss.

In one study it was discovered that the renal acid load from meats, cheese, and other animal

products could be contributing to bone loss.

The study states,

One of the most hotly debated controversies in clinical nutrition today is whether a diet

higher in protein has a positive or negative effective on bone strength and bone mineral

density (BMD).

Those who are against protein point to the fact that vegetarians tend to have stronger

bones than people who eat more meat and the clinical trials showing increased loss of

calcium in the urine when meat or protein intake is increased.

On the other hand, those who believe more protein is beneficial to bone strength point

to clinical trials in which children who consume more protein tend to build stronger bones

than those who consume less.

In some studies of older Americans who consumed more protein, the risk of bone fracture was

reduced.

. .

If we look at this problem from an evolutionary perspective, two things are clear.

First, from the fossils of our ancient ancestors, it is clear that their bones were far stronger

on average than those of Americans today.

Second, our ancient ancestors were for the most part hunter-gatherers and ate a diet

that was likely considerably higher in protein than the diet of most Americans.

But here is the caveat our ancient ancestors didnt eat as much highly processed, acid

forming, antibiotic-laden, unethically slaughtered meat as we do today.

The meat we eat now is highly acid-forming in the body, which leads to yet another study.

Any activities which cause low-grade chronic inflammation also contribute to osteoporosis.

Though eating meat is not the sole culprit a sedentary lifestyle, refined sugar,

refined fats, etc. also add to acidity meat eating does indeed cause inflammation.

An overly acidic diet is a key cause of chronic inflammation.

In a healthy body, the natural biochemical balance is four parts alkaline to one part

acid.

To achieve this balance, a person needs to consume roughly 80 percent alkaline foods

and 20 percent acidic foods.

Meat eating, particularly of red meat, has also been linked to higher incidences of heart

disease, by Harvard researchers, and is an acid-creating food.

Fruits, vegetables, nuts, sprouts, seeds, and healthy fats like those found in hemp

and flax seed, etc. are alkaline-supporting foods.

They are also more easily digested by our bodies and lower chronic inflammation.

Eskimos Have Lower Bone Density

Yet another study looked at the bone mineral content of Eskimos, who are famous for eating

a primarily meat-based diet to their harsh climate.

The study reports,

Direct photon absorptiometry was used to measure the bone mineral content of forearm

bones in Eskimo natives of the north coast of Alaska.

The sample consisted of 217 children, 89 adults, and 107 elderly (over 50 years).

Eskimo children had a lower bone mineral content than United States whites by 5 to 10% but

this was consistent with their smaller body and bone size.

Young Eskimo adults (20 to 39 years) of both sexes were similar to whites, but after age

40 the Eskimos of both sexes had a deficit of from 10 to 15% relative to white standards.

Aging bone loss, which occurs in many populations, has an earlier onset and greater intensity

in the Eskimos.

Nutritional factors of high protein, high nitrogen, high phosphorus, and low calcium

intakes may be implicated.

Though it is common knowledge that our soil is not as rich with vital minerals as it was

before industrial agriculture, plant based foods still provide minerals, in their correct

balance, to prevent or greatly slow osteoporosis.

Vegetarian and Vegan Foods to Build Strong Bones

Moreover, cheese and milk products (animal based proteins) are not the only source of

calcium.

Spinach, collards, kale, Swiss chard, lettuces, rhubarb, mustard and turnip greens, and even

broccoli all contain calcium.

Pumpkin seeds, Brazil nuts, Adzuki, lentils, chickpeas, pinto, Kidney beans and squash

all have high levels of phosphate.

A word to the wise though skip soy altogether.

The reason so many more woman than men suffer from Osteoporosis is that estrogen interferes

with mineral uptake.

Soy, especially GMO soy, and other estrogen mimicking foods can make it hard for your

body to build strong bones.

In Conclusion

You can reduce inflammation overall by cutting back on refined sugars, and getting to the

gym ore often.

But, it seems that simply by reducing your animal protein consumption, youll likely

still walk after the age of 60

Bose Soundlink Micro Review - Tiny, But Sounds ALMOST As Good As The JBL Flip 4 - Duration: 6:17.

its a shame the Bose soundlink micro is so under rated.

This speaker is slightly bigger than the JBL Clip 2, sounds almost as good as the JBL Flip

4, and the strap on the back makes it super convenient to use in so many different situations.

Its a little pricy but definitely worth the money.

Don't forget to like comment and subscribe and you can watch some of my other videos

here after you're done watching this video.

Like i just said, the Bose sound link micro is a little pricey compared to its competition

retailing for $110.

But It does come in three colorways, black blue and orange.

For comparison the JBL Clip 2 is currently selling for $60 and the JBL flip 4, which

I feel is the best small portable bluetooth speaker on the market right now is on sale

for $80.

If you want to pick either of these speakers up I'll have links in the description below

and I'll keep them updated so you can get the best deal possible.

Unboxing the Bose Soundlink micro is pretty bare bones.

You get the speaker, a micro USB cable for charging, some documentation and thats it.

The speaker it self is slightly bigger than JBL clip 2 but is 100 grams heavier than the

clip 2 weighing in at 287 grams.

Where as the exteriors of the JBL clip 2 and Flip 4 are made up of fabric and soft touch

rubber, the entire body of the Bose sound link micro is encased by a silicon shell.

So its pretty rugged but still looks good.

The tear-resistant strap on the back is also made out of silicon but its much tougher and

dosnt really stretch all that much.

But this strap is so handy it really makes this speaker the perfect outdoor companion.

You can quickly attach it to your bike frame, your back pack, your beach umbrella, or whatever

without having to mcaiver anything or getting extra equipment.

And the strap itself is super easy to use but once its on its on.

But for those wondering, no it does not come off.

Regarding speaker set up, you've got your power button, bluetooth button, micro USB

port for charging, an led battery gauge, and bluetooth indicator light on the top.

But unfortunately there is no AUX jack.

On the front you've got indented volume up and volume down buttons and in the center

you've got your textured multipurpose button to control your music playback.

Single press to play or pause, double press to skip a track triple press to go back a

track, and press and hold to activate siri.

Theres a single transducer on the right side and on the left side theres a passive radiator

that produces a surprising amount of bass for a speaker of this size.

When it comes to wireless range the Bose Soudlink micro is good for about 40 feet but it did

have issues keeping a solid connection when there were multiple walls between it and my

phone.

It wasn't able to keep solid connection as good as the Bose Soundwear or Bose QC35

II.

I also noticed there was some significant latency when watching videos.

But just like other Bose speakers the Soundlink Micro can be connected to two devices at the

same time.

the Bose sound link micro is also IPX 7 certified so besides being super rugged, water isn't

a problem either.

You can submerge it down to one meter and you wont have any problems.

The only down fall is that it dosnt float.

Regarding sound quality the Bose Soundlink micro sounds way better than the JBL Clip

2.

The Clip 2 sounds very tinny and it gets drowned out by all of the bass.

Where as the sound link micro gets much louder, has an even sound signature, has more than

enough bass to keep you satisfied and has a pretty good sound stage.

But although the Bose Soundlink Micro does sound really good for its size, it dosnt sound

as good as the JBL Flip 4.

The JBL flip 4 gets a little louder, theres deeper bass, more treble and instrument separation

is a little better.

But for personal listening while youre out hiking or on a bike ride the soundlink micro

will get the job done with no problems.

But remember, the Bose sound link micro is a very directional speaker.

Almost all of the sound comes out through the front and a little bit of bass comes out

the back.

If you're going to listen to music I suggest you face it towards you instead of just placing

it on a table and having the music shoot upwards.

But when it comes to battery life thats where the Bose sound link micro falls short.

Bose advertises a battery life of 6 hours and thats what I have been getting.

6 hours and some change.

Unfortunately theres no official quick charging and to charge the speaker from empty to full

its going to take about 4 hours.

For comparison the JBL clip 2 has a battery life of 8 hours and I routinely average about

14 hours of battery life on the JBL flip 4.

Which is 2 hours more than its advertised battery life of 12 hours.

So if you plan on taking the Bose Soundlink Micro with you on a camping trip or long hike

bring a portable charger.

And finally the Bose Soundlink micro can also connect to Bose's Connect app.

There nothing really special, you can adjust your settings, check your battery status,

manage your bluetooth connections, and toggle voice prompts on and off.

But if you have other Bose sound link speakers you can pair the micro up to them through

the app.

So you can chain them together or get some stereo sound going if you have two sound link

micros.

But overall I didn't expect to like the Bose Soundlink Micro as much as I did.

Its super tiny and tough making it perfect for out doors people looking for a speaker.

And the strap on the back allows you to attach it to almost anything and quickly remove it

with out any hassle.

Since this is a really cool out doors speaker I think it would have been even cooler if

Bose built in an LED flash light.

But like I mentioned earlier, battery life isn't the best.

But for its size it sounds very impressive, almost as good as the flip 4 but in a much

smaller form factor.

But for a $110 the Bose sound link micro is well worth

the money.

Tony Romo calling Cowboys game, but Dak Prescott hopes he doesn't guess too many plays - Duration: 2:01.

Tony Romo calling Cowboys game, but Dak Prescott hopes he doesn't guess too many plays

Tony Romo is earning rave reviews for his work this season on CBS NFL broadcasts, showing a tremendous ability to predict plays before they happen.

Romo works the Cowboys-Chiefs game Sunday at AT&T Stadium, and if hes been great at guessing offensive plays run by unfamiliar offenses, just imagine how clairvoyant the former Dallas quarterback will look when he watches the offense he led for 12 seasons before retiring to move to the broadcast booth this season.

Dak Prescott, who took over as the Cowboys quarterback after Romo was injured last year, hopes the QB-turned-analyst avoids that Nostradamus act this weekend.

Hopefully he doesnt call out and guess too many of our plays, Prescott said (via The Dallas Morning News). Hell still be very familiar with them. Hopefully he can stay away from that this week.

Romos presence in the booth certainly adds an intriguing storyline to the game. Prescott, who said he thinks Romo is doing an excellent job in his new role, expects he wont play any favorites in analyzing the Cowboys.

I kind of expect him to be (critical), Prescott said. I hope he is.

New Rangers manager: Derek McInnes liked but Aberdeen could demand £1.5m in compensation

McInnes is on the Gers wanted list as they hunt for Pedro Caixinha's replacement. Alan Pardew is another name in the frame, along with caretaker boss Graeme Murty.

But it's McInnes who is understood to be the man the Ibrox club are most keen on. However he won't come cheap if Rangers step up their interest and make a firm swoop on Aberdeen for their manager.

The Evening Express report the Dons won't let McInnes leave on the cheap, and could demand up to £1.5m to release him from his contract.

"Aberdeen could demand £1.5m in compensation for Derek McInnes " McInnes, 46, has performed miracles at Pittodrie, steering the club to three straight second-place finishes in the Scottish top flight since arriving in 2013.

Mark Allen, Rangers director of football, has been tasked with sorting out the club's new manager. He's drawing together a list of top talent who could replace Caixinha and get the club moving up the table.

Rangers are back in action on Saturday when they host Partick Thistle at Ibrox (3pm). The Gers are fourth in the table, six points behind leaders Celtic.

Phaedra Parks and Shemar Moore's Chemistry Is Undeniable, But Are They Actually Dating? - Duration: 2:02.

Phaedra Parks and Shemar Moore's Chemistry Is Undeniable, But Are They Actually Dating?

Has reality TVs ultimate Southern Belle found her prince charming? As Real Housewives of Atlanta fans know, Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida are officially over and free to date whoever they want.

In fact, Apollo already got engaged while serving time behind bars. As for Phaedra, shes keeping fans guessing with her relationship status even though one man appears to always be nearby.

Ladies and gentlemen, can we talk about Phaedra and Shemar Moores undeniable chemistry? It all started in December of 2016 when the former Bravo star was paired up with Shemar on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

A viewer called in asking if Shemar is single and ready to mingle. Lets just say sparks flew soon after. I am always dating. Im always trying to figure it out.

Im not going to lie. Im not trying to keep the ladies off me, he shared.

Im blessed with this life but Im ready to share it with someone. Soon after, a separate caller asked Phaedra what kind of man she was looking for.

Before she could mutter a word, Shemar turned up the heat by licking Phaedras neck and kissing her face.  I found him, she shared. Im looking no further.

Hes right besides me. If that wasnt hot enough, Phaedra dropped a big hint during the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion that Andy connected her with someone…nice.

Well, you hooked me up with somebody and we chat from now and then, she shared.

When Andy asked if she would date Shemar, Phaedra coyly said, Well see… And while this pair has remained quiet in recent months, Phaedra couldnt help but celebrate Shemars latest project premiering today.

The look on #bae face when you tell him tonight is your night, she wrote on Instagram with a picture of the twosome getting close.

@swatcbs premieres on @cbstv & @globaltv @10/9c #1 #babygirl Tune in! Set your DVR! So are they dating? Guess a Southern Belle never kisses and tells.

Beyoncé Is Nala in the 'Lion King' Remake, But What Will the Movie Be Like?|K CHANNEL - Duration: 7:06.

Beyoncé Is Nala in the 'Lion King' Remake, But What Will the Movie Be Like?

Look, youve seen the pic by now.

Even if youre not on Twitter ie: a person working in the media, someone flogging their mixtape or a pro-Trump bot, Im sure someones emailed a link or shared a grainy screenshot of Disneys cast announcement for the new Lion King film on your Facebook wall.

BEYONCE!!! has been the main focus so far.

Shes been cast to voice lioness Nala in her adult years AKA the bad bitch who had to teach a man-child to get himself together with a combination of roughhousing and then reunion shagging.

But the story goes further than that.

Have you read every name on this cast list? Have you not then immediately imagined Seth Rogens goddamn bassy chuckle jackhammering between lines as he voices A GASSY AND KIND OF INSECURE WARTHOG?? Have you not thought about Eric Andre in the voiceover booth, just slowly and repetitively perfecting his hyena cackle, channeling the spirit of Whoopi Goldberg minus all the problematic shit she says like every other week on the The View? Oh … no? Well we have.

Donald Glover as Simba.

Imagine, if you will, a shirtless Donald Glover with all those motion sensor sticker things on his torso, play-fighting with a Beyoncé body double because real Beyoncé obviously is contracted to only be touched by non-family members for a maximum of three seconds.

Donald has an Emmy now.

Donald is not a joke.

He will fully display the nuances of the emotional journey from Simba the childish moron to Simba the guy out to vanquish his fathers untimely death on some taking the kingdom back shit.

Donald will make you cry.

The ultimate ride-or-die.

The one who probably should have got away but just aged prematurely in her twenties on account of never having enough food while living under dictatorial rule and then doing unpaid emotional labour for her best friend/man.

Beyoncés acting skills over the years have at least improved since the ultimate low that was yelling IM A WHOLE LOTTA WOMAN on a loop as Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers in Goldmember, so she should be able to make us feel Nalas pain and very sincere, slow-burning pride.

You know when Bey sits in that deep part of her speaking voice, when shes talking about God or the strength within her in a really serious documentary scene? We want that.

Someone on the Noisey desk just described as Scar so sexy for an animated lion so I guess this is an open-and-shut case?? All Chiwetel needs to do is ham up a campy, slowly extended smile and drag out his words over more syllables than normal.

Have you just imagined Chiwetel with half-open eyes, looking over his own impeccable manicure while ordering around Zazu (coming in a second) and sort of sashaying across the green screen room? Good.

Alfree Woodard as Sarabi.

Dont mean to alarm you but no one can fulfill this righteous mum who will not be fucked with and wraps her hair every night after putting the kids to bed, for that single bit of alone time all day role more than Woodard.

John Oliver as Zazu.

Just in time for the all lives matter brigade, yes, there will be white people in this.

And, to really keep you satisfied, theyre all men! John Oliver as a well-meaning and loyal hornbill who, even though hes a bird, definitely looks like he needs glasses, is some of the most on-the-nose casting Ive seen in years.

Except lots of spluttering.

John Kani as Rafiki.

At the risk of being rude, this is the first weve heard of Kani.

But since hes been acting for about 40 years, chances are hell be able to perfectly channel the spirit of a jaunty baboon who spends most of the day giggling to himself, welcoming newborn lion cubs to the pride and communicating with spirits, all while lurching around as though hes been gone off the Henny for days.

Kani is South African, rather than east African (where the Lion Kings Swahili references come from) so I look forward to him best Kenyan accent.

U.S. OBESITY RATES REACH ALL-TIME HIGH, BUT EXPERTS WORRY MOST ABOUT UPTICK IN CHILDHOOD OBESITY - Duration: 4:46.

U.S. OBESITY RATES REACH ALL-TIME HIGH, BUT EXPERTS WORRY MOST ABOUT UPTICK IN CHILDHOOD OBESITY

The latest statistics from the U.S. government suggest that obesity rates have again reached a record high, not only for adults, but also for children and teenagers.

According to a report from CNN, the latest data from the National Center for Health Statistics shows that 39.6 percent of adults and 18.5 percent of children born in the United States were considered obese in 2015 and 2016.

This continued the ongoing trend of "staggering" increases in adult obesity with no signs of abating, according to U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention medical epidemiologist Dr. Craig Hales.

The new data comes from an annual government survey with approximately 5,000 participants, with the most recent figures corresponding to the 2015 and 2016 surveys.

CBS News noted that the survey is the so-called "gold standard" for measuring waistline stats, as participants are asked to confirm their weight by stepping on a scale.

The new U.S. obesity rate figures also stood out because of the drastic increase in both adult and youth obesity, as compared to data from 1999 to 2000.

For adults, obesity rates were up by 30 percent from 1999-2000 to 2015-16, while youth obesity had gone up over the same period by 33 percent, despite government initiatives such as former first lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign.

With the perceived failure of government anti-obesity programs in general, University of California-Berkeley epidemiology professor Patrick T. Bradshaw told the Los Angeles Times that America needs "more aggressive and targeted" tools in order to curb obesity rates.

He believes that government campaigns should focus on the challenges faced by African-Americans and Latinos, especially women.

The new NCHS report showed obesity rates at 50.6 percent and 54.8 percent in adult Latino and African-American women respectively.

Although the CNN report noted that youth obesity rates have been "more stable" than adult obesity rates in recent years, CBS News added in its report that medical experts are especially worried about obesity figures for children and teenagers.

Based on individual age groups, children aged 2-to-5-years-old had the biggest obesity rate increase compared to statistics from 1999 to 2000.

"This is quite disappointing. If we were expecting the trends to budge, this is when they would be budging," said Boston University obesity expert Andrew Stokes.

Similarly, Ohio State University professor of pediatrics Dr. Ihuoma Eneli told CNN that America needs to sharpen its tools if it wants to reduce childhood obesity rates.

She believes that health officials should begin taking stock of the effectiveness of existing health programs, and that family interventions could be another helpful tool in reducing U.S. obesity rates, especially in younger people.

For example, families with obese children could provide support by eating healthy meals or planning activities together, or simply by avoiding fast food and other staples of the generally unhealthy Western diet.
