Liverpool should have signed Van Dijk, they didn't have a good transfer window - Merson - Duration: 2:01.

Liverpool should have signed Van Dijk, they didn't have a good transfer window - Merson

That's according to pundit Paul Merson. The Reds signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson this summer, spending just under £100m.

Liverpool also look set to keep hold of Philippe Coutinho, with Barcelona desperate to sign the Brazil international. And Merson says the Reds should have signed Southampton star Van Dijk, claiming Klopp's No.1 priority should have been a centre-half.

"I just dont think Liverpool have done enough," Merson told Sky Sports. "Yes, they got Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but where will he play? "He wants to be a central midfielder but thats where Emre Can and the captain, Jordan Henderson, play.

"Mohamed Salah is a really good signing and Dominic Solanke can be whatever he wants to be, but what they needed was a centre-half.

"If theyd signed Virgil van Dijk Id be giving them A+++, but they didnt get him and they were happy to let Mamadou Sakho leave, which is Jurgen Klopp chopping his nose off to spite his face.

"For all theyve got, they havent done enough. " Mamadou Sakho joined Crystal Palace last night in a £26m deal.

You're Highly Intelligent, If You Have These 5 Struggles

1.

You think more than you speak

It may take you more time than a person of average intelligence to give your answer or

opinion or draw a conclusion, as your brain is wired in a different way to look for all

possible solutions and answers to a problem.

Further, if you are not completely sure that you have got the right answer or a brilliant

idea, you would not speak at all.

Most people around you will get confused or regard you as weird, introverted, or uninterested

as they are not familiar with the way your thought process works.

2.

You are considered socially awkward If you are feeling really uncomfortable during

small talk and refrain from speaking if not sure, don't get inspired by old and exhausted

ideas, or if you feel more comfortable with ideas than execution, most of the people will

tend to characterize you as socially awkward.

3.

Falling in love is tough for you

Your search for love will be slightly more demanding than that of the average people.

Because you are much more cautious, analytical and independent than the rest, you will tend

to get mistaken for cold and high maintenance.

4.

Small talk exhausts you

It is very difficult for you to engage in small talk about ordinary things as your brain

is overwhelmed with great ideas.

The topics that generate your curiosity and interest you generally include art, science,

philosophy and those are rarely discussed in small talk.

5.

How to Have a Naked Marriage - Duration: 2:16.

"Always be honest with each other secrets and lies are the enemies of intimacy" And

a verse that we have that goes directly with this is Genesis 2:25. It says,

"Adam and his wife were both naked and they felt no shame." And you know when -

when we read this verse, for those of you who heard naked and you're with us for

the first time - welcome back.Yeah, you said naked

and half the guys perked up.

We're glad you're here. It's a great Bible verse!

It is! You know we love hearing the

word naked. Being naked and being married is awesome, right?

And of course they're

talking about the physical nakedness there, but we believe, you know, when

God was talking about this. When he was designing marriage, and he said they were

both naked and felt no sham,e he's talking about them being naked on a

spiritual level as well. Having what we like to refer to as a naked marriage

where there are no lies between them. There are no secrets, there's no hidden

bank accounts, there's no secret cellphones, there's no friends on

Facebook they don't want their spouse to know about, there's nothing that we hide

from our spouse because when we do this we don't have the kind of marriage that

God wants us to have. Yeah the level of your honesty is always going to determine the

level of your intimacy in marriage. And the moment you find yourself keeping

secrets from your spouse, then you're already outside the bounds of that

covenant that God created. Your marriage is no longer naked. I think God

intentionally painted the picture of that first marriage. Before there was

sin before there was anything getting in the way, and he told us they were naked

not just to paint the picture of the importance of physical intimacy in

marriage, but to paint the picture as Ashley said of being naked emotionally,

mentally, spiritually. Nakedness is a picture of saying I've got nothing to hide from

you. There's nothing up my sleeve. I'm not even wearing sleeves. There's nothing

that I'm hiding from you. And so if you want your marriage to go to that next

level, then take what we call the secret- free guarantee it's saying I'm not going

to keep anything from you, and there's no question that's off-limits. You can ask

me anything and I want to do my best to give you an honest response.

Manchester United and City have opened a window of opportunity - Duration: 8:02.

Manchester United and City have opened a window of opportunity

IT has been an amazing transfer window, full of massive moves and money thrown here, there and everywhere.

Out of the big six clubs, you have to say Manchester United and City have done the best business — and they've done it early and with a plan. Romelu Lukaku has scored three goals in his opening three league matches.

Jose Mourinho made sure he strengthened key positions this summer. That is the key to the transfer window: What do we need? Where are we weak? It shouldn't just be about who is available; buy now, think later.

That is panic shopping. Great players go to great clubs — but it does not always necessarily mean they will be a great success. They need to fit the team's system.

When Romelu Lukaku was clearly leaving Everton, it was suggested Chelsea were interested. But that move made no sense because they would have had to completely change their style of play.

Diego Costa occupied the centre-half and dropped deep, creating space in behind for Pedro, Hazard or Willian, or the wing-backs getting round the back.

Injury has prevented Bernardo Silva from making an instant impact at Man City. Lukaku plays on the shoulder of the last defender and pushes defences back.

It would have been an utter change of identity for Chelsea. If it ain't broke and all that . . . and they had won the title after all. Alvaro Morata is more like Costa in that he tends to drop deep.

At United, Lukaku stretches the opposition and creates space in between defence and midfield. This provides room for Paul Pogba. And he has now scored two in three games.

He will get more time on the ball this season and will score a few from outside the box as he will have time — as he proved against West Ham in the first game of season.

Nemanja Matic could be one of the signings of the summer for Manchester United. Henrikh Mkhitaryan has had a great start to the season in terms of assists for the same reason.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a great player but he holds up the ball, slows the game down and crowds the midfield. So with the United midfield pushing up the pitch, it meant Mourinho had to think, 'What else will I need?'.

And that was a dynamic holding midfielder. So he bought Nemanja Matic. That is proper coherent business. Pep Guardiola looked at City and thought, 'What do I need? OK, full-backs'. So that's what he's bought.

Liverpool? They want to play on the counter-attack. So Jurgen Klopp would have thought, 'What do we need? More pace'. So he got Mo Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Mo Salah has hit the ground running at Liverpool.

Tottenham signed Serge Aurier to replace Kyle Walker. He is not changing the dynamic of the team, just enhancing it.

Tottenham were willing to let Kyle Walker go because they got a replacement in for half the price in Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain. Plus they have Kieran Trippier and are clearly happy with him as an option.

They may also go three at the back this season, so they wanted another quality centre-back. Hence, in came Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

They also needed an adequate back-up for Harry Kane in case he gets injured and got one in Fernando Llorente from Swansea.

Their squad is undeniably weaker since they have lost Oxlade-Chamberlain. But it is little wonder he was keen to be part of the Anfield revolution. If you are a top player, it looks like a club to be a part of.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made a deadline day move from Arsenal to Liverpool. They have bought well, kept well by keeping hold of Philippe Coutinho, signed Naby Keita for next summer, Salah is a good buy.

Then you look at Arsenal and they have players running down contracts, not extending them, players leaving to join rivals. It is not a good look and doesn't smack of forward and coherent planning.

Here are the five window transfers that are getting me excited: .

GYLFI SIGURDSSON (£45milion Swansea to Everton).

He's a big loss for Swansea and a coup for Koeman. He has an eye for a pass, provides goals and his set- pieces are excellent, whether it is delivery or going for goal himself. He can take Everton to the next level.

BERNARDO SILVA (£43milion Monaco to Man City).

More of a No 10 but can play on the right and drift in. He will create a good understanding with Walker.

And when teams sit deep — which they will against City — he can unpick a defence with a great pass or piece of skill.

CHRIS WOOD (£15milion Leeds to Burnley).

The Kiwi striker could end up being a very good signing. He was a focal point for Leeds and did a brilliant job last season.

He will hold the ball up and give Burnley's midfielders time to get up in support.

TIEMOUE BAKAYOKO (£40milion Monaco to Chelsea).

Will give Chelsea high energy in midfield and can start the press high up the pitch, allowing N'Golo Kante to sit in front of the back three.

I think he will interchange with Cesc Fabregas in certain games, depending on whether they need more creativity.

NATHANIEL CHALOBAH (£6milion Chelsea to Watford).

It is good to see a young player make a move that means he is playing, not sitting in the stands at a bigger club.

And the 22-year-old has had an excellent start to the season in Watford's midfield. He has lots of energy.

BUT THE BEST BIT OF BUSINESS . . .

Liverpool keeping Philippe Coutinho. He will give his all, despite being denied a move to Barca because there is a World Cup on the horizon. Liverpool know he won't down tools and jeopardise his Brazil hopes.

it's also really fun when I get a discount code 'cause then you can buy them and

you can play with them all over your face.

Play with them all over your face?

Put 'em on your face? Whatever.

So I'm gonna put everything in the description below but the discount code is "CHASE"

That's easy, right?

And you get 50% off of almost any single item on the store online AND

you get free shipping on the entire order, if you live in the United States.

They're a super cool company, like they have like 100% satisfaction guarantee, all of that fun stuff, anyways...

I have no idea what's in this box. Also like, I opened it like this just so my address doesn't show

because they had to send this to my address. Um... and when I got this I was like 'what is this?'

I like, looked and I was like 'what is-' and then I saw-

I saw heels, inside, like [stutters] there's a picture of heels inside and I was like

'Oh this is it' so I didn't actually open it so we're gonna do this, we're gonna open it, we're gonna play with toys.

So I have seen Stef do this and Elena um, oh my- What did they send me?

Oh my god!

Ok, so they sent me stuff that like, 'for any type of body' so I don't know what's in here. Oh I see batteries

I got some batteries, what can I do with these? Oh my god that's not-

Okay, so the first thing that I see, "deluxe, 10 mode silicone penis head teaser'

Hunty, ok you know what, because this is like, just a random unboxing video,

I don't even know how long these are supposed to-

Oh this is soft.

[laughing]

Oh I guess these are what the batteries are for. I'm literally doing this in this video because like, what do I got to lose? Nothing.

Oh shit! [laughing]

[Silent vibrating]

Oooo

[Silent vibrating]

[laughing]

I don't even know how to turn this off- there you go- okay, it's actually pretty cool

I- I would actually try this on my junk, even though like my wiener is NOT this big, um...

[popping sound]

[little pops as he rubs the toy]

[while laughing] might be interesting to try out. I don't know, I don't know.

Fetish, fantasy series, pleasure tape, non sticky bondage tape

Only sticks to itself! You know what I actually have some of this, I have some of pink

And, um, what I've learned to use with these is when you're stretching your ears, [laughing]

This is actually really good tape to use when you want to go a size up

but like you don't want to go the size up right away

like from a 2 to a 0 is a really high jump

it's like a regular jump though, but you don't want to do it so you just put like tape on it.

Um and this was the tape that I used.

Don't know if that's actually good but

[tape tearing] ok let's see this

It only sticks to itself.

[sticky noises] Oh! Okay this tape is way better than the one that I had. Ooooo.

Yeah, yeah yeah, I could- see I got a bed, I got some poles that I could like-

[laughing]

Hemp seed 3 in 1 massage candle, ooooh 420 blaze it

I'm looking inside like I'm like 'what did they send me?' Okay

[sniffs] Yo [sniffs]

Okay no, legit, if you're gonna buy anything on this website, I didn't even go through this but, [sniffs]

Ok, I don't- what is this actual smell though because this is like my favourite- [sniffs]

It smells- [sniffs again] oh shit. Why does it have a spoon?

Do I want to know?

'3 in 1 massage candle' Oooooh.

So I guess you like burn it

Burn candle until partially liquid, allow oil to melt to the edges of the tin,

Pour or spoon onto hand and apply to the skin.

Ok this is literally, if you want to know one of Chase Ross's favourite smells, I don't know what smell- [sniffs]

Yo. Oh there is literally cannabis in here. No animal testing, and it's vegan, look at that.

Can't wait to use this on myself. Hashtag that single life.

Ok what the- 'keeping couples connected.'

What is this? Is this like a- like a bondage thing? 'A night to remember,

We've been together for almost a year but this is our first Valentine's Day and I want to give her

more than flowers and chocolate.

My plan is to offer her a sensual evening that will expand our relationship and more specifically

our love life.

I think I have just the right gift to create the memorable evening tonight

With the help of a few sexy red accessories, I'll be her slave, I'll be a slave to her

[stutters] with her every whim? Whatever.

Sexy Slave Kit

Fantastic. Ok well it's vegan, there's no leather in here so that's good.

Okay, I know you're- you're gonna laugh at me okay,

yeah yeah, we can do sex things- yo this is... wow.

Ok, I literally need a new sleep mask [laughs]

So like- Oh this is big. This man has a big head.

Ey.

So you get like a velvet eye thing.

Is this a butt plug? Oh no it's a, it's like a feather like 'I'm gonna tickle you'

Oh fuck there's feathers everywhere, hunty let's not do that.

Ok so these I guess are the- wow they really want me to do bondage, huh?

[inhales]

What is that? Oh my god I'm so-

I'm like looking in the box.

Ok oh so you know what, because it's like this weird material, velvety, when you like

tie someone up, it like doesn't hurt...

You know what? This, I might actually this, I don't have anything like this.

Ooo my kink [laughing]

Ok. then there's the leg ones and the arm ones.

I... [laughing]

[rummaging] okay, oh is this the same company? Yeah that's 'sportsheets' they sent another thing

New cosmer? (comers) strap-on and silicone dildo set for pegging... for pegging.

I am dying, I was like why is there like a cis guy here? 'well how do you know he's cis' whatever

Ok. Perfect for, in quotations, "pegging"

Easy to put on, adjusts in seconds. Ok hunty I have a lot, a lot of harnesses, so let's see this.

Oh I was like 'does it not come with the wiener?'

[yelling] What is this? this is so small.

What the fuck [laughs]

Oh my god. [plastic rustling]

Who- I mean I guess it's like a beginner pegging?

There's not even any ridges on here. This won't even do anything to my butt.

I mean... let's not even go there.

Ok I actually have a harness that looks very similar to this

Ok so this is what it looks like. I'm not gonna put it on here obviously but this is for pegging.

For... and if you don't know what pegging is, it is when a woman has sex with a man in the butt.

I don't like that it's called pegging. 'Cause it's like a peg leg like you don't have it, it's not yours for real

I dunno, I don't like it. Like if a, if a woman is gonna do me, I don't call that pegging.

Naw. You're just doing me. You know what I'm saying? I don't know, whatever.

Ok movie lube prostate kit. Intro to prostate kit. Movie lube? Zero tolerance that's funny.

Non-vibrating, ok so these are, oh there's one vibrating one. 5 year warranty

Ok what is this, can I just open this, I have no idea what this is. Here we go.

So there are 4 inside, ok.

So these are basically like butt plugs.

Ok let's see how big they are to the naked eye.

[package rustling]

Ah this is, this is good. Oh and it comes with lube. It comes with- with personal lubricant

which is water based, which is always good.

[package pops]

Ok well I don't have a prostate but I'm definitely put this up my booty

when I feel better- oh cool [laughs]

I am 5 years old this is

[stuttering] these are soft, I really like- and this is the vibrating one. Oh it has a bullet inside. Ok.

Can you- does it not work? Does-

Oh no, prostate down, prostate down!

[audible vibrating] Oh shit! [vibrating] Damn. [vibrating continues]

Ok you don't have to put this up your prostate, you can use this other places

also it's a little dangerous 'cause it's not very flared so if you- you really gotta hold onto it.

[audible vibrating] It's loud. [vibrating continues]

This is not discrete, you can't do this when you got someone in the other room, you gotta be like-

yo wait till everyone's out of the house or else people gonna know what the hell you're doing in there.

[laughing]

This one is the uh, suction cup! Ooo for hands free!

Is it really? Oh it is suction cup! Awesome.

Okay!

Wha- this is, this is a wand, this is an Adam and Eve wand.

What do they call this? 'New and improved magic massage delivers deep satisfying vibrations'

Oh my god, ok is this like, do I gotta plug this in?

Yo I never- I've never had one of these- I do gotta plug it in, oh my god

Um, I never had one of these but I've always seen them online

and I've actually like used one as a massager for real.

'cause that's what the original purpose of this is, is like a massager, but people are using it

[mocking voice] for their genitals

So let's, let's plug this baby in and see, and see what we got.

On. [quiet vibrating]

[button click, vibrating intensifies]

[button click, vibrating pulses]

[button click, pulses slower]

[button click and new vibration pattern]

I really hope the neighbors can see me do this.

[Vibrating] Oh yeah, oh [stutters] you know, this is what I'm gonna use it for, oh. oh.

[vibrating]

Yo legit, I'm not even joking, oh.

I have a, [pause] oh yeah

[vibrating]

Oh. Oh. Oh that feels nice.

[vibrating] You know, this is definitely originally used...

[vibrating at various speeds]

Oh shit that feels good. I mean it's gonna go on my genitals soon enough but,

Oh that feels nice. [laughs]

Oh my god. Ok. I'm gonna stop doing this. I'm putting this on the floor.

Is there anything else in this box? Okie Dokie

'Open now, over 8 hours ready for you for free', I think this is like um,

is this a porn website? Is this, are there videos in here?

I think this is just like an offer that they send over at like the same time.

Ok I'm not gonna look at this on camera, I don't want this to get flagged, I mean it probably will, but anyways

[Laughs] This was actually a really fun unboxing video and I would love to do this again.

If you want me to do another unboxing video for this company, please let me know

because I definitely will let them know that they should send me more stuff to unbox.

Um, I am actually gonna use this and review it separately though because it a- [sniffs]

Oh fuck it smells so- [sniffs]

It's like cocoa butter or shea butter or something? and vanilla.

Or something. Yo fuck that smells good.

And then I'm definitely going to use these um. These bondage-

I don't know about the bend over whatever this, the first anal thing, the fuck is this? It's like something I could

put like, that's something you put on your desk, and you know when you go to a store and they like

put your receipt in that thing, it's like a poker thing, this is what this is.

[thumps against wall]

Anyways, thank you so much for joining me, let me know what you think, and I will see you guys later!

English Causative Verbs - MAKE, LET, HAVE and more. Part Two - Duration: 7:02.

Welcome back to part two of our video on causative verbs.

Last week we looked at the meanings of three common causative verbs.

You can see part one here if you missed it.

This week we're going to look at some grammar and fix some common mistakes.

There are lots of causative verbs and 'make', 'let' and 'have' are the most common ones.

They're all irregular so it's make, made, made, let, let, let and have, had, had.

Easy, huh?

The tricky thing is the pattern they follow when they're causative verbs, and it's

this.

There's the causative verb, then the person who does the action, and then the action.

Let's see an example.

What does your dad do if the room is a mess - if your bedroom is a mess?

He makes me sort out my clothes and put them away.

'Sort out' and 'put away' are phrasal verbs.

Sort out means organize and tidy and when we put things away we put them in the place

they're kept.

He makes me sort out my clothes and put them away.

Notice the structure here.

There's the causative verb, then the person who does the action, and then the action.

It's the same with the verb 'let'.

Do your parents let you eat ice cream for breakfast?

Well actually, unfortunately, no.

No.

But they let me eat pancakes.

Oh well they're very nice, aren't they?

And some maple syrup.

So make and let follow the same structure.

Causative verb, person action.

Now here's the thing.

Suppose we change the verbs 'make' and 'let' to the verbs 'force' and 'allow'.

They're causative verbs too.

If we use them instead the meaning stays the same, but look what happens to the structure.

There's a 'to' there.

After make and let, we don't say 'to'.

That's strange.

After most verbs we put 'to', but not with make and let.

And it's the same with the causative verb 'have'.

Sometimes I walk Carter myself and sometimes I have the dog walker take him out

We could also say 'get' here.

Get is another causative verb and it means the same thing as have, but the pattern is

different.

Sometimes I get the dog walker to take Carter out.

In structures with 'get', we say to.

The elevator's broken down.

I had to climb up ten flights of stairs.

Oh dear.

Oh.

Hello? Vicki, I've got a package for you, but the

elevator's broken down.

Yeah, I've just heard.

Don't worry.

I'll have Jay carry it up.

It's quite heavy.

No problem.

I'll get him to come and collect it now.

So remember, 'make' 'let' and 'have' - we don't say 'to'.

That's the first tricky thing.

Now the next tricky thing.

What about the past tense?

If something happened in the past, which verb is going to take the tense?

The causative verb or the other verb?

Let's see.

We'll watch a story and then I'll ask you some questions about it.

And then the princess married the prince and they lived happily ever after.

Is that it?

Yeah, it's time for you to go to sleep now.

Can't I have one more?

All right then.

Layla, it's time for you to go to sleep now.

We're just going to read one more story.

Just one more.

Oh all right then.

Are you asleep?

Yep.

He's fast asleep.

OK, I've got two questions for you.

First one.

What did we let Layla do?

We let her stay awake a little longer.

We let Layla have one more story.

Perhaps it'll make her sleepy.

Next question.

What made Layla's dad sleepy?

It was the book.

The story made him fall asleep.

So which verb took the past tense?

The causative verb.

The other verb doesn't change.

Let's have another example.

Someone's at the door.

Can you make Carter go to his crate?

Sure.

Carter, crate.

Good boy.

Down.

Good boy.

Have they gone?

Yes, you can let him out now.

Carter, come.

Good boy.

Such a good boy.

So first we made Carter go to his crate and then we let him come out.

It's the causative verb that takes the tense.

The Biggest Regrets The Movie Industry Will Have In 20 Years - Duration: 5:09.

All is not well in Tinseltown.

Sure, studios are still making billions of dollars, but the way they're doing it seems

less and less sustainable every year, with three or four superhero tentpoles carrying

the weight of the entire industry.

The system has basically become blockbuster lottery.

But it doesn't have to be this way.

Here's a look at some things the movie industry will regret in 20 years.

Remakes, reboots and sequels

Sure, this isn't exactly a new trend.

Twenty years ago, there were plenty of sequels and unnecessary reboots too.

But today, we seem to have reached critical mass.

It seems like almost every major release is either a remake of an older film or an adaptation

of a comic books, '90s TV series, cereal mascot, or literally any existing property.

Here's the problem: without any new ideas to draw off of, what will Hollywood be remaking

or rebooting 20 years from now?

If you thought three different Spider-man franchises in a single decade was silly, just

wait, because there's a lot more of that coming.

Making everything dark and gritty

Some franchises, like, Batman, are designed to be dark and gritty.

Others, however just aren't.

Do we really need a dark and gritty Superman?

Or Spider-Man?

Or Power Rangers?!

Considering most people go to see summer blockbusters because they want to have some escapist fun,

making those films relentlessly grim — not to mention literally dark — is counterproductive,

as it just gives people an excuse to find something else to do instead of going to the

theater.

Allowing the midsize movie to die

Two decades ago, a typical movie studio's development slate included everything from

blockbuster action flicks to modestly budgeted romantic comedies and a little Oscar bait

thrown in for good measure.

Today, studios make almost exclusively one thing: tentpole blockbusters with budgets

that rival the per capita income of small island nations.

"Is that a torpedo?!"

"Take the wheel!"

"What?!

This is crazy!"

In a way, it makes sense.

the international market has became a crucial part of yearly profit margins, studios have

turned to increasingly lavish spectacles to draw in foreign viewers.

After all, giant robots laying waste to major cities works in any language.

Subtle character drama, not so much.

But that reduces variety at the box office for fans and turns every film into an all-or-nothing

gamble for the studios.

When Netflix is snatching up a Martin Scorsese/Robert De Niro gangster movie that's deemed to be

too much of a risk for Paramount Pictures, something is definitely off.

Endless product placement

There's nothing new about product placement.

Heck, Smokey and the Bandit was one of the biggest box office hits of the '70s, and the

entire plot is about how delicious Coors beer is.

Yes, Coors.

"The problem is that Coors Beer… you take that east of Texas and that's, uh, that's

bootlegging."

But these days, product placement seems to drive the narrative itself, leading to nonsensical

scenes like an ATM for a Chinese bank showing up in the middle of Texas in the Transformers

franchise.

Plus, it's overwhelming: Man of Steel reportedly made over $160 million just from brands paying

to be in the movie.

Between Sears, Walmart, Twizzlers, Gillette, Kellogg's, Carl's Jr., and many others, the

movie seemed like 50 percent superhero and 50 percent "don't forget to buy our stuff

on the way home."

That may help the bottom line, but it erodes the quality of the movie — and the confidence

fans have in Hollywood.

"It's like people only do things because they get paid.

And that's just really sad."

Cinematic "universes"

The Fifth Element was one of the top-grossing films of 1997.

Have you watched it lately?

Go ahead, we'll wait.

Back?

That was pretty fun, right?

Now what if The Fifth Element was the middle chapter of a multi-part franchise?

How likely would you be to go back and care about it?

Would the plot make any sense if you hadn't seen, say, the Leeloo Dallas solo film or

the Fifth Element: Legacies TV series or whatever else was required viewing to enjoy a two-hour

sci-fi flick?

That's what it'll be like to watch today's movies 20 years from now.

As much as we tolerated Kong: Skull Island, which version of King Kong are future generations

more likely to look back to?

The classic one from 1933 or the one from 2017 that ties in with the dull Godzilla movie

from 2014?

Hmm.

Focusing on theatrical distribution

Recently, movie geek idols Christopher Nolan and Sofia Coppola threw their support behind

beleaguered theater owners, urging moviegoers to watch their upcoming films on the big screen

where they're, quote, "meant to be seen."

Because what better way to watch Nolan's World War II epic Dunkirk, or Coppola's lyrical

Western The Beguiled, than in a crowded multiplex jammed next to texting teens?

Look, seeing a film projected in a theater still does make for the best viewing experience,

but ignoring the streaming boom in favor of theatrical distribution is hurting the biz,

and who knows how many more streaming options there will be 20 years from now?

After all, an entire generation is growing up streaming movies on iPhones.

Over time, seeing movies on the big screen will become a niche pursuit, like music purists

who insist everything sounds better on vinyl.

The movie business needs to embrace the future — or else become forever stuck in the past.

40 Important Milestones You Can Have In Your Life Besides Getting Married - Duration: 7:43.

40 Important Milestones You Can Have In Your Life Besides Getting Married

1.

Signing a lease for an apartment that's completely yours – no parents, no siblings, no roommates,

no boyfriend or girlfriend, just you.

It doesn't matter if it's the smallest studio in existence, because it's still yours.

2.

Doing something that's terrified you your entire life – it can be as drastic as skydiving or as seemingly low-key as

signing up for an acting class.

If it terrifies you, it's a huge step to take.

3.

Going through a painful breakup and refusing to let it drown you; instead, deciding to find growth and strength from it.

4.

Asking for a raise when you know you deserve it, especially if you're the one to bring it up.

5.

Giving money – that you don't have quite enough of yet – to people or causes that need it.

6.

Discovering or rediscovering spirituality in your life, whether that's through an organized religion, a book,

or any other structure that helps you.

7.

Taking your parents on a vacation.

8.

…Or even just out to dinner, because this is finally your chance to be the one who can treat them to something,

rather than the other way around.

9.

Reconnecting with an old friend that you've always regretted losing touch with.

Being the first one to reach out, to tell them you miss them, to make an attempt to see them again.

10.

Giving a heartfelt, well-written, meaningful speech as the Best Man or Maid of Honor at the wedding of someone who is

very special to you.

11.

Accepting a job or promotion that pulls you out of your comfort zone and places you in a city or country where you

barely know anyone.

12.

Buying or leasing a car completely on your own – with no help from your parents or siblings or friends.

Just a purchase or lease agreement that exists simply between you and the car dealership.

13.

Reaching a point in your life where, even if you still care about your looks,

you're more concerned with your character, your choices, and the people you surround yourself with.

14.

Embarking on a journey to lose weight or get in shape, because you feel that it's what your body truly needs to be

healthier.

15.

The first time you solve a major problem in your life without seeking advice or approval from those around you.

16.

Making a huge physical change that you want, but aren't quite ready for yet – a major haircut, a piercing, a tattoo,

a hair color change, a wardrobe that you've always always felt was more "you," etc.

17.

Deciding to go back and get your Masters if you feel that that's the best thing for you to do at this moment in time.

18.

Getting on your own health insurance plan.

19.

Quitting a perfectly good job – not because it's a challenge or it's difficult,

but because it makes you truly miserable and unhappy.

20.

…And quitting said job without telling or "asking" your parents first,

because you've already figured out how you can budget out your savings until you find something else.

21.

The first holiday you spend with friends instead of family.

22.

Getting to that age where you buy your own plane tickets home, instead of begging your parents to do so for you.

23.

Changing a tire by yourself on the side of the road, with no help.

24.

…Or, if that would be a disaster, signing up for your own AAA membership.

25.

Getting to the point where you make appointments on your own for things like physicals and dermatology check ups – with

no insistence from your mother.

26.

Going on your first vacation with a significant other – paid for by you two and you two alone.

27.

Developing your own honest, genuine political beliefs.

Not because you want to sound smart at parties, but because as you get older,

you're starting to become less naive and more concerned about important issues that your country faces.

28.

Owning a piece of furniture in your place that wasn't a giveaway from your parents, wasn't found on the street,

and wasn't purchased at IKEA.

29.

Having certain luxuries that you like to spend your hard-earned money on once in a while, like super soft bedsheets,

or a massage, or a really delicious bottle of wine.

30.

…And getting to the maturity level where you can tell the difference between treating yourself,

and being financially reckless and irresponsible.

31.

When you have people over for dinner – and it's a meal you cooked by yourself.

32.

Finding out, and actually understanding, what the hell a deductible is.

33.

Telling someone you love them without knowing for sure whether they love you back.

34.

Feeling genuinely happy when your friend hits a huge milestone, and learning to not worry about the small bout of

jealousy or panic you feel over it.

35.

Getting on your own cell phone plan, and realizing that when you've overused your data,

there are no more family arguments to be had.

It's just you and your credit card, paying the overage charges on your own.

36.

Setting up a 401K, because you want to.

Not because someone lectured you about the importance of it.

37.

Traveling to a city you've always wanted to explore, and paying for everything on your own dime.

38.

Reaching an age where you know how to admit when you're wrong.

39.

Finding that one book that changes your life, even if it's in the smallest way possible.

40.

Getting to a point in your life where you look at teenagers and college kids and think I'm so glad I'm not in that

stage anymore, as opposed to I'd give anything to go back.

Costa named in Chelsea's Pre League squad as wantaway star looks to have buried hatchet with Blues - Duration: 4:15.

Costa named in Chelsea's Pre League squad as wantaway star looks to have buried hatchet with Blues

DIEGO COSTA and Chelsea look to have buried the hatchet after the striker was named in their Premier League squad. The rebellious Spaniard has been itching for a return to Atletico Madrid after being dumped by Blues boss Antonio Conte over text.

Diego Costa and Antonio Conte appear to have buried the hatchet.

Diego Costa has been named in Chelseas Premier League squad. Liverpool and Arsenal both seem to have won personal battles with wantaway players after naming Philippe Coutinho and Alexis Sanchez in their own 25-man rosters respectively.

Coutinho has been courted by Barcelona all summer and, with the Spanish transfer window shutting tonight, is still able to join the Catalans.

And Sanchez was desperate to leave Arsenal for Manchester City but saw the Gunners reject Citys £60million bid for him last night.

Costa, 28, is in his hometown of Lagarto in Brazil and is being fined £300,000 for every fortnight of his absence.

Chelsea and Atletico are hopeful a deal can be done to allow the Brazil-born striker to return to Madrid, although the fee is still a big issue.

The Premier League champions want £50m for a striker who cost them £32m three years ago.

Philippe Coutinho has been named in Liverpools Premier League squad.

Alexis Sanchez has also been included in Arsenals 25-man Premier League squad.

The fiery forward claimed he is being treated like a criminal by his club. He is unable to play for Atletico until January due to their transfer ban and so finds himself in limbo.

Diego Costa looked to be on the next ride out of Chelsea this summer. Costas shock inclusion in the Chelsea squad means he could make a sensational U-turn and once again play for the Blues.

It means the striker cannot claim the club were not providing the conditions for him to fulfil his contract, of which he has two years left.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa was dumped by Antonio Conte over text in the summer.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is unable to sign Diego Costa until January. And it leaves the Blues able to call upon the strikers service which, after a disastrous deadline day, may not be out of the question.

Spain captain Sergio Ramos has waded into Costas stand-off with Chelsea, urging the hitman to maintain fitness. He said: I could say a thousand things on Diego Costa.

Every player plans his holidays and his life as he sees fit. I hope that if right now he has more time to rest then he can come back with the same attitude as ever..

Liverpool should have signed Virgil Van Dijk, they didn't have a good transfer window

Paul Merson says Liverpool should have signed Virgil van Dijk.

"For all theyve got, they havent done enough." Mamadou Sakho joined Crystal Palace last night in a £26m deal. That's according to pundit Paul Merson.

I'm Councillor Alan Tobin from the Ashbourne District.

I'm head of the Joint Policing Committee in Meath.

The Joint Policing Committee is a body made up of an Garda Síochána, various county

councillors from different areas in County Meath, Meath County Council staff, and community

bodies from around County Meath.

Every year an Garda Síochána have to come up with what's called a policing plan; so

a plan of priorities for 2018.

We're looking for people's input into this.

I'm asking for community groups and the public to contact me with what they think are the

priorities for the policing plan for 2018.

It may be something as simple as in Ashbourne here we have problems with parking.

Some people think that there's not really a police presence on the street.

Other things include burglaries, which are a lot more serious, shoplifting, and in some

areas, antisocial behaviour.

So let us know what your priorities are.

I also attend meetings with the policing authority.

Josephine Feeney is the chair of that.

She has highlighted the fact that Meath in 2017 didn't have a plan.

They really we to get this plan together this year and in 2019 we can have a look at it

and see how effective it was.
