The BATTLE ROYALE game-mode will put up to 100 players on a remote island for a winner-takes-allshowdown where strategic gameplay is as important as shooting skills.
Players will enter a last-man-standing battle where they try to locate weapons, vehicles and supplies in a graphically and tactically rich battleground that eventually forces players into a shrinking play zone as they engage in a tense and spectacular fight to the death.
PLAYERUNKNOWN (Brendan Greene - Creative Director at Bluehole) is the pioneer of the Battle Royale genre. From humble beginnings creating the Battle Royale game-mode on the ARMA series, he went on to license his game-mode to Sony Online Entertainment (now Daybreak Games) for inclusion in their title H1Z1.
Now working as creative director on BATTLEGROUNDS, he has finally the chance to create his own version of the game-mode which spawned a new genre in gaming.
"From when I first started making the Battle Royale game-mode in ARMA 2, I have always wanted to make a good game. With Bluehole, and their philosophy of creating "well made" games, I am confident that together we can create a great game."
Developers note: Since we started this project a year ago, we have reached out to the Battle Royale community to gather suggestions and feedback about what they want and expect from the game.
Ever since we started our pre-alpha testing, we have worked with them to implement suggestions, get feedback about gameplay, and ask their help when we ran alpha and beta testing.
Custom Games During Early Access, we will have custom games on private servers available for our partners. We will expand the reach of this program once the core system is working well.
Modding From the very start, we wanted to provide players with the ability to create new game-modes and mods based in our game.
We have created a highly detailed world, and provide content creators with a wealth of vehicles, weapons & items for use in their own mods. Our players will have the full use of our assets and can create their own content for inclusion in their mods, by using the highly powerful Unreal Engine devkit!

AM I DOOMED TO FAIL IN MUSIC BECAUSE OF MY HOMETOWN?? - Duration: 4:17.
so I've had a few experiences recently that have led me to start
thinking about where I live and what I do and how those two things kind of fit
together and it's really interesting to me when it comes to musicians especially
I see it more in musicians then I do with people with generally involved in art is
this wanting to break out of their hometown mentality and I think it's
especially rife in pop punk and the kind of stuff that I listen to that I grew up on
the stuff that I write it's just you know the underlying theme of most of those
albums that we kind of know and love the stuff that I play all the time you
listen to it and it's all about wanting to get out of your hometown and make
something of yourself you know it's interesting but I don't think you can
use it as an excuse anymore and I'm saying this from experience as a person
that did used to use it as an excuse I kind of I want to kind of tell you about
how stupid I used to be if that's okay I mean yeah thinking about it now
looking back I had a really naive mentality and whether it was because I
was kind of drip fed this story and kind of like idyllic scene that I
was sold through the kind of art and music I listened to about breaking out of your
hometown but I always felt like maybe I took it for granted where I came from so you
know I never always used to live here and moved to a big city a few years
ago and I lived there for a while and kind of wide-eyed adventured me wanted
to kind of go there and take over the world you know and I found it tough I did
I found it tough and the reason the found it tough is because that kind of
sense of community was so hard to break into and didn't
really feel like it existed and because everything was so oversaturated there
everyone was quite dismissive of kind of what you were trying to create of what
you're trying to do but I found since being here and doing what I'm doing and
everyone is so supportive it's insane but you know it's tricky and I think it was
only when I came back from being away that I realized this and it took me a
while to kind of get back into the swing of things and I found it tough initially
coming back because I thought you know everyone that I knew had moved on but
kind of new circles have grown and I found that you know as I said I've
only been doing this for like six months or whatever like April of this year but
in terms of in terms of that dialogue that you might tell yourself about
creating music writing music and performing living in a small town and
kind of thinking that the only way that you can do something is if you move away
you need to get that out of your head because I don't think you could you
can't use it as an excuse anymore especially because of the
internet especially because of social media especially because I'm talking to
you right now and you might not live where I live you might not live in the
same country as me but I'm still talking to you right now you know when I
talk about experiences that I've had I think when I say that it's more kind of
small community touches that I've noticed and that have humbled me in a way and
whether that's just kind of in in small way just kind of people supporting what
I've been doing or better yet supporting other people with what they've been
doing yeah I don't know what do you guys think do you think that you need to be
in a city or something like that to actually really make it as a musician or
do you think that time is past now I mean I'm starting to believe the
latter more myself but I love to hear your guys thoughts so let me know what
you think
