Estonian brony on TV (Pealtnägija) - Duration: 8:28.
But the character for our next story is also quite exceptional
There's a saying, that men will always be boys
But whoever made up that saying
Probably didn't quite have this in mind
This is Andro
He's a 20-year old man from Tallinn
who studies history in the University
That is also reflected in Andro's home in Mustamäe
where he keeps his historical military-collection
But besides collecting mostly German military-gear
Andro also has quite a non-macho hobby
Her name is Twilight Sparkle
In Estonian, it's something like Videviku Sätendus
And she is, in a way, similar to me
Because she's kinda introverted
and she likes reading
and so on
This purple unicorn
is a character from a cartoon
whose main audience are 5-10 year old girls
My Little Pony
of which a dedicated fan Andro is
I don't know how to explain
what I like about it so much
but I just feel
with every cell in my body, that I really like it
And believe it or not
Andro is far from being the only adult
who follows the adventures of these six little ponies
Since 2010's October
when My Little Pony's new version
arrived in the US
the male fanbase has been ceaselessly growing
The facinating phenomena
also has a name
An adult male pony-fan
is called a Brony
Brony comes from the English words Bro and Pony
which means brother and pony
Popculture expert Tõnis Kahu says
That the situation
where a product appeals to a different target audience
unexpectedly
isn't uncommon at all
If we look back, then of course
The fanbase of Teletubbies in the end of 90s
which spread
It obviously had a lot of reasons for existing
A bunch of teens
came from a club
still being quite high
still going through the comedown process
And then they got a whole different connection with this childish world
What kind of pony-merch do you have?
I have a couple of these toys here
Which I keep as a decoration in front of my monitor
Then I have a poster on the wall here
And I have this nice blanket too
In addition to watching the cartoons and collecting merch
the fans also create art themselves
which they share on the internet later
Andro is also an eager artist
Here are a few of my primitve sketches
From when I first tried to draw ponies
Some are traced
And some are just these experiments
mhm
Here's some of the more fresh stuff
This is
me as a pony
Oh
"Ponified version"
of me
And here's an East-German pony
And a bit of satire on how to draw a pony
From time to time, Andro posts his drawings
to different MLP themed sites
Where thousands of male pony-fans
talk to each other every daily
Mostly it's just posting pictures and discussing them
But almost everything can be discussed
For an example, some philosophize about
My Little Pony
Or they try to explain episodes philosophically
And obviously new products and stuff is constantly being discussed
Which has come out lately
The pony-fever has also arrived on YouTube
One of the most popular fanmade things are
ponified versions of Hollyword trailers
This pink horsy
talks in the voice of Borath
It's also pop to film yourself on a pony-merch haul
to share your experience with others on the internet
But what do the bystanders think of this?
This obviously divides into a few different categories
Some don't care at all
Some think that
as long as they keep it to themselves, go ahead
And some simply hate Bronies
And usually they comment
That you're all childish men
and your intellect is on the level of a child
Or that you all are pedophiles
And you refute all these
negative, spiteful claims?
Yes, of course
But, everybody probably knows that
most of these
fandoms
have these
very weird people
who show their love for it in a very wrong way
that for sure
exists
But it's a very small part of it
First off
being a fan
and collecting fan-merch
is definitely inherent to children
But
it's been noted
that later on, it'll affect men in certain age groups
Usually, that age is usually even older
Somewhere in their 30s and 40s
men collect stuff, like discs
Which I also do a bit myself
The reason men do it
is also
psychologically investigated
Women also collect things, but it's usually not as obsessive
Don't you think it's weird, that you've found such a hobby?
I wouldn't say so, because
people are different
Everybody has their own opinions
If I like this, then why not
These kinds of men are also often characterized as nerds
Somewhat simplified
those are people who have difficulties with some aspects of life
For an example, relationships with women
or some other aspects, then they control their world
in this way
Andro is a person, who definitely isn't afraid to be differnt
Apart from being a pony-fan, he wears a suit each day with a religious devotion
and collects East-German and the Third Reich military-gear
I really like the aesthetics of most military uniforms
It's just a parallel hobby
Hobbies don't always have to relate
There can be certain contradictions
Why would you recommend people to watch My Little Pony?
As the name states: Friendship is Magic
If a bunch of men are fans of children's toys
and the world has less violence and more love due to it
Then at the end of the day
everything is good

Truly Spanish in Enjoy Spring on the Costa Blanca North TV documentary 2018 - Duration: 2:36.
Carlos, Truly Spanish, you've created this amazing program for foreigners tell me about it.
Truly Spanish is the outcome of my passion, I have been working on that for many years and I think this is the
time, we are really ready now and we are prepared to offer people from abroad, interested in Spain and in
Spanish language especially to offer them accommodation, intensive classes, Spanish classes
of course, and then just relaxed time.
Activities and immersion program and activities with Spanish people.
And I understand you will be speaking Spanish all the time.
Yes, all the time, this is the most efficient way I know because of my experience living in another country,
in England in this case for you to improve your conversational skills in a language.
You could see the best results coming from 2 weeks course, because it is going to be very intensive for
17, 18 hours per day.
So, we picked them up at 9, we do the classes, we have lunch together, they cook with a private chef;
they are going to be taught how to cook Spanish dishes, typical Spanish and then the activities all the time
escorted by the teacher's team in order for them to be talking Spanish.
Can beginners come?
Yes, definitely yes.
So, how will that work if I don't speak any Spanish?
Because that is my job.
So, basically after 2 weeks you will be able to converse in Spanish?
Definitely, yes.
This is our resort we have in Elda.
We have everything here, Costa Blanca is the spot to be, so we have nice beaches and restaurants, food.
Spanish food is very well known all over the world.
I think the most important thing to have good classes is to have fun.
Especially talking about language and this is what we do, have fun.

Costa Blanca Movie Enjoy Spring on the Costa Blanca North TV documentary 2018 - Duration: 32:36.
What is Costa Blanca North in the Spring time all about?
Let's find out!
The spring time I think is the best time here.
We love the place because the area is very welcoming.
There is a 100 different nationalities that live in this town alone.
You can a really good value for the money here and the cost of living is so low as well.
I like the sun.
The scenery, the fresh air which is amazing.
We have everything here, Costa Blanca is the spot to be.
Costa Blanca North stretches between Alicante and Denia.
The company participated in our film in 2016.
How has the market changed?
The prices have started to rise, particularly for villas and exhibitions and the majority of people that are coming
are looking for the North Costa Blanca because it has so much to offer and that's never going to change,
we still have the sunshine and the quality of life.
So, why do you like Javea in Spring time?
It's beautiful scenery, you've got all the wildlife with flowers.
How much does a place like this cost?
This house is on the market for 780.000 euros because it has such wonderful sea views and it's very close to
amenities and to the beaches.
And what properties are you selling actually, the prices?
All different from villas for 200.000 right through to 5.000.000 euros.
There is something for everyone here.
Isn't that true that on the Costa Blanca or Costa Blanca North you can get really good value for the money?
Absolutely, yes, it's a very good construction, good size plots, nice open aspects.
We are not all clumped in together.
You get really good value for the money here.
And the cost of living is so low as well.
Celina, Joe, what is Javea like in the Spring time?
Javea in spring time is a very good time to come and look for properties, obviously we are coming into Easter
which is a very busy period for us.
Spring is a lovely time of year, with a lovely climate.
The owners like to put their properties up this time of year.
It's a good time of year for outdoor activities.
We are actually doing a marathon, we are doing it as Alta Villa team for charity.
We will walk for 29 kilometers to 15 different viewpoints.
All of them are quite individual as well, very, very beautiful.
Jávea it's a tourist place of course, but it's all year-round.
Jávea has its own unique microclimate which is actually recognized by the World Health Organization as one
of the healthiest places to live in the whole world.
We actually have more than 320 days of sunshine; it's the sunniest place in the whole of Spain.
Tell me about the mountain.
The local folklore is that if you come and see the mountain, the Montgo, then you will fall in love with
Jávea and you will always return.
If you look at it, you can maybe see that it has a shape like an elephant.
If you look from Cumbre del Sol in the evening time, just as the sun is setting, it looks like the eye for the
elephant is just closing, it's very beautiful.
When we initially thought of moving out to Spain, we started off looking down in Costa del Sol and worked
our way up to the Coast with 5 or 6 visits and the first time I came to Jávea, I felt in love with it.
So, we decided then that we would move out here with 3 teenage children and our Lassie Collie and when we
started going through the process we did find it quite difficult to find property,
we had no help with getting children into school or anything like that. So, we still made the move,
but I found myself coming here with no job, no work which is not advisable…
Then I thought, well I have this experience, let's try and see if I can do better and
I started off in 2008 on my own with no language.
The reason for the success has been our unique selling point which is really that we want to help people
experience living in this area or having property in this area in the most relaxed and stress-free way.
I used to spend all my year looking forward to two weeks where I can get sunshine.
And out here we have sunshine every day and it is just a pleasure to live out here.
The Spanish people here are so welcoming and they accept our Spanglish very graciously, don't they?
We are always here to help people.
We want people to not just buy a house, we want to help them to settle in.
If they buy a house and it's an investment, we can help them with their forward plans, renting, holiday rentals,
long term rentals.
Carlos, Truly Spanish, you've created this amazing program for foreigners tell me about it.
Truly Spanish is the outcome of my passion, I have been working on that for many years and I think this is the

Especially talking about language and this is what we do, have fun.
Ingo, we have been filming your shop over the last 3 years, tell me how the organic food, this whole culture
changed here in Spain?
Here, in Spain it changed a lot.
When I started 20 years ago, there was not so many organic products, but now in the last 5 years all the time
more, good, organic products from Spain, produced in Spain, and now we have in our shop over 5000 organic
products and we are always searching, especially for our clients the best products, for the best price.
Chocolate products without palm oil, we have now big assortment of cleaning products, for
dish washing, for floor washing, clothes washing, always new products very good quality and
very, very good prices now.
We buy directly from the suppliers and then we have much better prices.
We buy now in big quantities, on palettes and now we changed our opening hours too.
We now here every day from Monday to Friday from 9 - 20 o'clock and Saturday from 9 - 16 o'clock.
So, you don't have any siesta?
No, we don't have any siesta now, we are open all day.
Spring time here on the Costa Blanca, how do you see it differently to other seasons?
Temperatures are going up on, comes the warmth and the flowers, it's so nice here.
Spring time is the best time here.
It is so mild here in the winter, but in the spring come a lot of people to make holidays here,
In their countries is so cold, feels like summer for them, people from Northern Europe when they come in spring.
Egidio tell me why you are in Altea.
The first time I was here was in 1995 and the owner is almost like a family to me and he knows me since
I was born.
So I often came here and also spent my honeymoon here and I wanted to take over and continue a tradition
of Italian cooking here in Spain.
Why is this restaurant different?
Oh, good question.
First of all because it's an Italian restaurant, a 100% Italian restaurant; also because the staff, the chefs
are from Italy.
Also the products we use are coming from Italy twice per week so we use fresh products,
lots of things homemade.
And traditional pasta,
traditional pizza,
and we make ravioli of swordfish and shrimps; it's homemade.
Enjoy!
Why do you love Altea?
Altea is a nice place to be, to live, the sun is shining,
people are really kind and,
you know there is a beach.
It's a small village but big enough to have all the services, but not much noise so also for my family it
should be a good place to live.
So, in this amazing location, this is where people can have yoga with Rachel.
Yes, the scenery, the fresh air which is amazing for any sort of yoga practice, the bright light which wakes you
up in the morning and yes, I am lucky enough to give my first class of the day right here on the seafront.
I teach the style of yoga which is called Viniyoga and the word viniyoga comes from yoga sutra, so it's a
philosophical text and it means – the yoga adapt to the person and not the person to the yoga.
Rachel tell me why should I chose you as my teacher?
Well, I would have to say my use of experience, I've been practicing yoga for almost 20 years.
I sometimes think the best testament a yoga teacher can have is how we look and I'm almost 46 and most
people are really surprised by that and I say it's down to yoga.
I did 6 years of teacher training which is quite a long teacher training by today's standards.
I'm also a massage therapist and I have a very deep knowledge and love of anatomy, so I'm very careful
with my students.
I try very hard to not ever cause any injuries or even pain to people.
And what about Altea, why did you get here?
Well, I have a long family association with Altea.
My grandmother was one of the first northern nurse to move to the Costa Blanca in 1967
and I had a relationship with the Costa Blanca since I was a little girl, since I was 7 years old
and well this weather, this air, the food, the people.
You are Canadian?
I'm Canadian and I think the spring time is a natural fit for a visit to the Costa Blanca.
First of all, it's not so, so very hot.
It is true that it can be a little stifling in the summer,
and of course it's one of the nicest times for food.
We have all the local in products like the avocadoes are still available, the nisperos are coming in season,
the citrus is still sweet, so I think Spring is brilliant.
Hola!
Hi Natalia, how are you?
Lovely to see you.
PMR, tell me what you do here guys.
We are a property management and rental company, we've been established here on the Costa Blanca
for 11 years.
We really look after people's properties, mainly it started for people that didn't live here and just needed
somebody to check on the properties, look after things, make sure that everything was working fine when they
themselves came out and had holidays.
And from that things have progressed and now we've gone into rentals and holiday rentals and
long term rentals as well.
In addition, there is a big need for expats to be able to come somewhere
and get all their paper work sorted out.
So if they need NIE or residencia, change of driving licence, change of vehicle matricula,
all of that we do from this office.
And you cater for internationals?
We now cater for all nationalities.
The girls that I've got here, we all speak Spanish and we've got German speakers, French speakers, so we can
deal with pretty much any situation.
So, what is unique about your business?
I think the unique things for us is that we don't sell.
We are property management and rental company, that is what we specialize in.
We are not an estate agent, we all deal with rentals.
And you are in beautiful Alfaz, how is this area?
Alfaz del Pi, is a very multicultural area and I believe there is 100 different nationalities that live
that live in this town alone, which is great.
Everybody is catered for, there is a lot of restaurants with different cuisines, etc…
Everyone gets along really well.
It's a working town, it's a busy town all year round, which is nice.
We've got some nice properties here in town itself, but we also deal with Albir, Benidorm,
Villajoyosa, Altea, going as far as Alicante and up north as far as well Calpe as well.
Great, so if the person was thinking to come down here in Spring time, why?
Spring is beautiful here on the Costa Blanca, when all the almond blossom comes out onto the trees
and it's a very busy time for us.
We do winter rentals so we have people that maybe come for 6 months over the winter that
are now leaving and we are getting the properties ready now for the spring and the summer holiday guests.
It's a great time of year to come, it is not too hot, there is plenty to see.
It's a beautiful day today and the sun is always beautiful like it is today right up
through until November time, so it's a great time for people to come and visit the area.
Alicia, Desmond, wonderful new place here in Albir, you are continuing from Orihuela Costa,
tell me about this place.
We love the place because the area is very welcoming to all kind of nationalities
and we like the mountains and there is also the sea and there is beautiful nature.
Our speciality here is a Black Angus Argentinian steak served on a hot stone.
That means no fats, no oils, everything on heat, all throughout the meal and with all the flavor because
it's sealed from the beginning and you can cook it to your own perfection.
Ok, but also have other things, not only for meat lovers?
We do seafood, chicken and pork which we also have on a stone and it has a different flavor.
We have lots of different options as well for vegetarians and for people that like seafood.
For example we have a vegetarian fajita dish that we present with a stone as well.
You can toast your tortillas and when you put vegetable on the stone it releases nice flavors.
It's a perfect area because there are lot of different nationalities, specially Scandinavians who are lovely
people, educated and they know very well what to eat, they really enjoy a good meal.
We love the spring time here, it's the best time of the year because it's not too hot,
it's not cold, it's just starting the summer, so it's good time to sit outside
and you can have walks on the beach afterwards.
Alain, Costa Blanca North has a lot of bars. What is special about yours?
We have over 100 beers, and with beer you have so many possibilities.
There are sweet beers, there are sour beers, there are beers infused with whisky,
there are beers made from honey.
There are American beers that has been in bourbon barrels
and some kinds of beer go better with meat,
some kinds of beer go better with fish.
It is like wine, but the variety of beer is much wider than wine.
And we can also enjoy food here?
We have a specialty of the house, it's spare ribs. It's a very special recipe, it's cooked for 2 hours,
the meat is very soft, it has dark color and it's has a very nice taste.
We have fish soup made from seafood.
We have an international kitchen, we have special things from Belgium, but also from other countries.
Miguel, tell me what is Dismovil?
Dismovil is a mobility shop that sells mopeds and equipment for disabled people.
In this area we have more handicapped people in need of beds, products for the bathroom,
wheelchairs, mobility scooters.
We sell these products and we repair them.
We provide service and everything.
We not only sell the product, we repair the product.
Most international people come to this area for maybe 4, 5, 6 months per year and they need somewhere to repair
We go to Denia, to Torrevieja, and any place in Alicante area.
And how has the technology evolved over the last few years?
We started 16 years ago.
When we started the scooters, the wheelchairs were simple; they weigh more; the autonomy was very short
and at this moment the scooters and the electric wheelchairs have long autonomy and bigger batteries;
the products are lighter.
The person can put the scooter or the wheelchair in the car very easily.
You always want to use your chair, you don't want to use other chair to go to the mountains.
Miguel, is it easy for a disabled person to move around in La Nucía?
Yes, in all Alicante area it's very easy now to use the scooter, the wheelchair for disabled people.
A few years ago we had problem with steps and the street, the shops, the restaurants always had the steps.
The shops and the restaurants started to make it very easy for disabled people.
To move around.
Yes, yes…
And the town hall is doing a lot for disabled people here in La Nucía or in Alicante area.
It's easy!
Very good.
Yes.
Why do you like La Nucía?
It's better for us here.
We have more clients here than in Benidorm or another area.
Francisco, explain El Xato.
El Xato is a 102 year old restaurant.
Four generations have worked here.
My wife, Cristina –the chef–
And me, are in charge of this little business –as you have seen there are eight tables.
Twenty six guests.
And we have the same philosophy my father and grandfather had, which is:
it's more important to have friends leaving than clients arriving.
We have a very traditional cuisine because we don't want the essence of our country to be lost,
but with a mix of many cultures and traditions from all over the world.
And what can we eat here?
We change to a completely different menu every two months and depending on the season.
For example, the dish we have today as appetizer is octopus –similar to the dry octopus our grandparents
used to do by putting them in the sun.
We are very happy with the next dish, which people like a lot, and you will try: our version of pelota de cocido.
It's long to explain, but we've been changing my grandmother's pelota recipe until we got this mix
of flavors that reminds us of the Orient, the Mediterranean –Arabic-Spanish– and even citrusy
traces that remind us of Peru with the Ceviche.
Well, well...
A little bit of everything.
Our little cellar with almost 1,000 wines and some 800 different alcoholic beverages.
Whiskey, rum, brandy, cognac, gin.
A little bit of everything.
La Nucía is a small town; very pretty; very peaceful.
And El Xato is there.
For 100 years.
Okay, thank you.
We are in Calpe with international lawyers.
Linda, Fernando and Heidi, please tell us how you cooperate together.
As the years roll by and I get older and I also few health issues, I decided I needed to look for some suitable
people to take over some of my work load and who better than Fernando and Heidi,
who actually physically their office is just across the corridor in the building here in Perlamar and ideal they
speak English, it couldn't be anyone better than them.
So, tell us what you specialize in?
We work in civic proceedings, criminal proceeding, so, we specialize also with foreigners' dealings.
There are a lot of problems with foreigners buying in Spain, especially when they don't look for a solicitor
preventing them from having a problem.
We have got the languages, French, English and German.
And you are German?
I'm German, I'm mostly focused on international clients.
Spring time in Calpe, well, there are a lot of tourists now for Easter, a lot of people are looking to buy a property
or start a business in Spain to settle here as residents.
We are going to try to provide Linda's clients with the best of our experience and knowledge.
We've known each other for 20 years.
I defend clients in court, more than 25 years of experience and I do offer
such an experience to all the clients.
I just wanted to make it clear that my staff, Virginia and Liza, will be continuing here in the office for those people
with who have been dealing with them for years.
Patrik Patriks, Belgian hairdresser here in Calpe.
Tell me what you do here?
It's now 20 years that I work here in Calpe and I work with my husband, Pedro,
and I'm very happy in Calpe.
Why do you like it so much?
I like the sun of course and I like my work.
I work Kerastase, I love Kerastase and I think the most important in my job is to give all the people very good
treatment and very good atmosphere.
It's fun in here.
Yes, I hope and the most important is the quality of the work and the brand.
We also do manicure and pedicure service.
And you speak 5 languages here?
Yes, we speak 5 languages.
More time with the clients, it's very important for me, the contact with the clients and time with the people.
And that's why you have clients that come here for many years.
Yes, I have people that comes from Alicante, Valencia and I think because of this, I don't know, I hope.
Must be…
José, explain a little bit about Taita...
Taita... we opened 14 years ago.
And we opened as a creperie.
I went to Britain and learned to cook crepes,
and we opened as a creperie.
But I got hooked and little by little I learnt how to cook.
And we currently cook native and mediterranean cuisines.
We kept on cooking crepes, though.
We have specialized in native cuisine.
We cook... we also cook author's cuisine, but...
we cook types of rice.
Types of rice nobody cooks because they are native,
and the recipes were our grandmother's.
And the restaurant is quite famous, right?
Well...
Plenty of pictures.
Oh, well, yes. Some famous people have come, but many clients are pictured.
For me clients are the most important thing.
Yes, yes.
More than famous people.
And wine?
Wine. This is our wine menu, so... we also have a paper menu, but I like people seeing and touching the
product, the wines. With the menu people only ask for the wines they know, and this way you come, you see
a bottle, for example, Cuatro Pasos, which is a Bierzo wine.
You see wine from Alicante.
You can see how much the wines cost.
And it's our menu. A more physical menu.
And very unique.
Exactly.
And why is Benidorm the place to live and visit?
Well, Benidorm is a city... it's a town, but it's a city
that has its fans
and the opposite. There are people who do not like Benidorm at all.
But I can only tell you good things about Benidorm because my grandparents were from here, my parents
are from here
so, to me Benidorm is wonderful.
There are people who may not like it, but Benidorm is a very open-minded city for all tourists.
