The search engine Google is showing this Doodle in few countries for celebrating Hirotugu
Akaike's 90th Birthday.
Hirotugu Akaike was a Japanese statistician.
In the early 1970s he formulated a criterion for model selection.
It is known as AIC, i-e the Akaike information criterion, which is now widely used.
AIC is an estimator of the relative quality of statistical models for a given set of data.
Given a collection of models for the data, AIC estimates the quality of each model, relative
to each of the other models.
Thus, AIC provides a means for model selection.
It tells nothing about the absolute quality of a model, only the quality relative to other
models.
Thus, if all the candidate models fit poorly, AIC will not give any warning of that.
For Dr. Akaike, experience was core to creativity.
For example, to get a direct feel of random vibrations, he bought a scooter and rode it
around Mount Fuji.
This first-hand experience helped him differentiate between the vibrations of riding on normal
and heavily-trucked roads.
In 2006 Akaike was awarded the Kyoto Prize for his major contribution to statistical
science and modeling in the development of the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC).

in Ann Arbor Michigan.
I'm a manager of our global customer care team.
We help our customers get the most out of the web
we provide customer support
and make sure they have a great experience
with our advertising products.
What that actually means is
if a customer needs help with a billing issue
understanding how our product works
and how to optimize it for their customers.
Our job is to make sure that we are there for them
whenever they need us and
however they need us to be successful on the web.
Here's our cafe space this is where
I have breakfast and lunch.
I have a lot of one-on-one meetings
I collaborate with a lot of different partner teams
I bring in community guests.
Great place for our Googlers to be able to connect
with each other and to be creative
collaborative on a day to day basis.
I graduated from Case Western Reserve University
in electrical engineering.
I'm able to use my ability to think as an engineer
helping me solve day-to-day problems
but I'm actually not building the products itself.
I'm able to take advantage of the classes
and the skills they learned in the
Masters of Engineering and Management program
in the business side of my day-to-day responsibilities.
Two things about my day are typical.
one is every day I get to work on interesting problems
and different challenges.
The meetings might be around hiring
might be around developing our teams
and coaching people.
They could be really trying to improve the effectiveness
of our operations or refining processes.
The second part of my job that's pretty
consistent everyday
is I get to work with people.
So I have a great team here in Ann Arbor
but I also work everyday with people
from around the country
at our different Google offices as well as
collaborate with our global partners
around the world.
Google has been a great brand
I had a couple great brands early in my career
from being at Case Western Reserve
being at G.E.
and spending the last 10 years at Google
Google is an exciting place to work
it's dynamic it's always evolving and changing
it challenges us
and our facilities really allow us to bring our
best selves to work each day.
I'm only probably two or three clicks away
it's not hard to find my contact information
I love talking to students
about you know their questions
their career aspirations
and giving them some advice
on types of jobs to apply for
at Google or elsewhere.

5T Challenge: Quick View in Google Drive - Duration: 1:09.
Today's tip is quick but really useful.
Often you're in your Google Drive and you see a bunch of files but you don't really
know what the file is about.
This is especially true if you have files that have similar names.
You could go up and press the grid view and that gives you a snapshot of each
file but sometimes that's not very helpful either because if you're looking at something
like a slide it might only show you one of the slides.
So here is my tip, when you select any file so it's highlighted, press the P key on your keyboard.
It produces a preview of the file and you can scroll down to see what it looks like.
Moreover, you can use your left and right cursor keys to go to the next file in that folder.
And, when you come across a Google slide, you can click through the slides to see what
the slide deck is all about.
To exit, simply click the screen and you're back to your original view of your drive.

After registering google cloud account
Today, I will show you
how to
create a virtual machine
in google cloud platform
The first step, you need enter
cloud.google.com
then
press Console button in the top right.
I need to talk a little about
how google cloud works
google cloud
supports users base on .
projects
Each project
We can use
Virtual Machines, Apis
We can create some applications on this project.
To create a new VM,
We must
create a project first.
You can see,
this is new account and don't have any project.
Now
We have 2 ways to create project.
The first one, you can click "Select a project"
and
click "+" button
. to create project.
The second way, you can click menu button
Now we need
to create a VM
a VPS server
We click"Compute Engine"
Then, click VM instances
"VM Intances" means "Virtual Machine Intances"
This is a server
As I said,
Project contains everything.
So, when we create a new VM
without any project
you must create new project first.
Now I will create new project.
And set a name for it.
Now, about my billing account.
Attention! What is "My billing account"?
Now Click menu button.
I will talk to you about "my billing accounts "
Click Menu,
Select Billing and
Open in the new tab.
After you sign up and
verified your credit card successfull
You will be give 2 billing accounts.
The first billing account
is free account which Google give you.
You will be used this account
during 1 year.
Total budget is 300$
The second billing account
is the account
which you registered
by your credit card.
Please distinguish them.
OK, come back
Here,
we have 2 choice. To use free 300$,
we need to choose "My billing accout".
Then press "Create"
Wait for it complete loading.
Ok.Done.
Now we have a project named "Dykit"

create new Virtual machine server
Ok Done
To create new VM, click Create.
Here we have notifications button.
when we've done any task, we will be received a notification about it.
Now we set name for VM.
For example: dykit-server
About zone
Here we have many choices.
You can select any zone you want.
Normally, If I hire server from other service provider
I usually choose server placed in Singapore
But here we don't have Singapore's server
So I will pick any one.
Ok, we will choose US server.
At the bottom, machine type
we will select configuration of VM.
Press customize
At CPU,
Google allows us to select from 1 to 8 vCPU.
Here we have 2 kinds of vCPU.
The first is "shared vCPU"
And the other one is normal vCPU
So, what is the differences of them?
vCPU means "Virtual Center processing Unit"
If you select this one,
we will have
full resources of vCPU.
like a dedicated server
And, If you select "shared vCPU"
Google will
share a CPU
for several VM
Many VM will use
a common CPU resources
So that
VM performance
will not be stabilized
I recommend
you choose
a normal vCPU
For demo of creating new web server
we should select 1 core of vCPU
and Memory we should set 1GB
Total budget will be 19.62$/month.
