What's up crew Calvin Wayman here this is episode 69
What's up peeps welcome here to Millionaire Case Study and today's been
a packed day like just back to back to back doing a lot of stuff. Today is
July 31st 2017 gonna be steppin. what did I just say? August 31st?
Let me try that again today is July 31st 2017. Anyway I was actually just thinking
to turn this off and record but I want to keep this in just because it's it's
kind of all over the place and I think it just kind of gives a sense of what's
happening right now. So today's Monday and I just barely got
back from the weekend speaking at an event that went super awesome so I just
wanted to update on that, update on an awesome video that just got done an
update that the baby is here. So my new baby girl Belle is here yeah I
know she's super super cute so we were waiting on that for a long time and the
reason I'm documenting that is because I think even though that's a family thing
they're still like that still plays some part in the business world on your mind
on what you're thinking about like my wife and I were kind of just waiting and
wondering when is she going to be born and I had this talk coming up it was
close to it but she was born like two days before I had to leave and so it
worked out. Also there's a video that I'm just gonna play the entire thing here in
this episode because it turned out so freakin well that my friend Jason put
together I played this at the event that I spoke at over the weekend and I posted
it to my Facebook and it went crazy. So just get ready to see something awesome
over the next three minutes and I'm gonna let you see it. Here you go.
Fear's job is not to scare you. Fear's job is to freeze you.
I felt stuck, I was broke & fifty three thousand dollars in debt. I was anxious,
depressed and overweight. I hated my life but I didn't know what to do.
I was completely frozen by fear. Then I asked myself a question that would
change my life forever. What would my life look like if I designed it exactly
how I wanted it and was doing what I was passionate about? I realized that moment
that this life was not going to happen on its own. Fear was screaming at me
loudly but I decided I would rather try and fail than wake up in ten years and
nothing has changed. I had to give it a shot.
I suddenly quit my day job and decided to go after it. Fear tried to suffocate
me. If I had one more day of door slammed in my face I was going to be screwed.
I wasn't good enough, I was going to fail, I was going to end up on the streets. It
told me I didn't know what I was doing. Quit! Turn back now before it's too late!
You can't do this.
Since then everything has changed. I started my own company I'm passionate
about. Helping people grow their business and tell their story through the power
of social media. I became an author of my best-selling
book "Fish Out of Water" and I lost over 30 pounds and just to prove to
myself that it was possible, I even ran a 50-mile Ultramarathon. I became officially debt free for the
first time in my entire adult life. I started impacting people's lives and
blessed to travel all over the world and make more for one speaking engagement
than I did in two months at my day job. The craziest part? I'm just a regular
dude and I started this journey only two
years ago.
If you have told me that this was all possible, I couldn't have believed you.
But through this journey, I learned that you can beat fear at its own game. To win,
you can't wait to know all the answers. You have to commit first and figure out
second. The perfect time will never come just make the decision and then make it
right. You don't have to be perfect. Take Consistent Imperfect Action because
done is better than perfect.
Fear will make us question, am I good enough, do I deserve it, can I actually
do this. Remember,
fear's job is not to scary you. Fear's job is to freeze you.
Give fear the finger, look fear in the eye and take action anyway. You don't
need to know all the answers, you deserve the life you know you're meant to live.
Just take the next step. You got this.
Anyway just watching that video I mean I can't I've seen it so many times it's
just so crazy watching it because when I watch it
it's weird cuz it inspires me and then I realize that dude that I'm being
inspired by is me so it's just kind of an interesting feeling and it was so
that was the intro video that was played at the event and as it was playing like
I was almost getting emotional before I even went up on stage seeing it being
played. So yeah just super super cool now I'm
just swamped. So one of the things that happened at the event is I got to give
an offer on stage for the first time ever and that worked pretty well it was
a pretty small event I think there was only about 40-something people there and
so my goal was to offer my social media services for around $1000 they had to
apply there to put an application in first for $97 and I was like if I get
one person to put in the application then that is a success. That was my big
goal is to get one person and so I delivered the offer and not one person
but ten people put it in so that's super huge and so what that's doing now is I
just have a ton of work to get in and speaking of all these things I'm looking
for help right now um there's two more designing designer VAs that I'm looking
to hire. I'm looking to hire a friend to help me onboard these people because if
I get all 10 of them that's gonna be a ton of work and I'm trying to resist the
temptation to do it all myself. For example somebody that's been doing
my what I call deep dives which is the first major part that somebody does that
a new client does one that when they come on board I called her to help me
onboard him and I thought it was gonna be a done deal and she said actually I'm
really busy I can still do the deep dives but I can't help you on board
these ten people and I was this close to just saying oh uh not a problem I can
send out the emails I can onboard of myself and I went to do it and I know I
could get it done superfast but then I was like no I
take a step back because I need to start building this so it runs with or without
me and that I'm not part of the system so I don't create a bottleneck so I
called somebody else I called somebody else and said could you help on board
this and she said yes and it might take me along a longer period of time to
train this person or I'm gonna be meeting later today but if I train this
person to do it the first time then as I own board new people she'll already know
how and I won't be like blocked down into the system. So that's kind of where
I'm at right now also I also want a document since we're at the end of July
here how much I made. Again the whole purpose of Millionaire Case Study is to
document where I'm at and where things are happening and I'll probably
sometimes like post a link or something in the description at some point in all
of these that you can track the income that I've made because it's Millionaire
Case Study and I want to track where I made it and how I made it.
And so in June I had my first twenty thousand dollar month and that was
awesome it felt good and so in July I was like you know what I need to make so
that's not a fluke. That it actually matters and that it worked and that it
means something and because I don't want to just hit 20 once and then have it
fall off so I put all of my focus energy and attention on hitting 20 again and I
also had stretch goals that were like 90 that I didn't hit or whatever but I just
want to document that when I just checked in July July 31st we hit it
again so I just had my second consecutive month where I had over 20
grand in revenue coming in this month. Most of it from social media clients and
then of course for my speaking and stuff like that.
So now it's we're moving into August so I got to hit that again and then of
course I got to increase it I need to get it up even more and if these clients
are go smooth with the on board then that's gonna help with that as well so
that's where I'm at again super super packed right now getting stuff done
feeling a little bit of stress but it's almost to the point right now I'm like I
don't have time to be stressed I need to just get this stuff done get it in order
cuz here's another big thing I want to end on a TEDx talk big goal of money
this Friday just in a few days I'll be going down to Vegas again to give a TEDx
preview talk. It's not really a TEDx talk it's a preview talk it's a five-minute
TED talk essentially as of right now on Monday I don't know what I'm going to
talk about it could be around social media could be around fear I don't know
I'm trying to decide but at the same time I'm trying not to decide right now
because I have so much going on so much that's on my mind I can't think about
all at once or else I'll just overwhelm myself. And so my thought process right
now what I've done is I blocked out all of Thursday on my calendar. Nobody can
schedule anything with me right now for that date and what my plan is is giving
that day the day before the talk before I go down to Vegas to figure it out. It's
five minutes I just spoke for 75 in Vegas which was intimidating leading up
to it I was nervous I didn't know where I was gonna come up with 75 minutes of
content and I did and so I just have to believe that if I get solid, get centered,
get present and feel like what's the right talk to give at this talk it'll
come out and just in full transparency I'm nervous over this talk for a number
of reasons. Number one besides the fact that I don't know what I'm talking about
yet I think I'll figure that out there's seven of us talking to an audience they
paid to be there and then they're going to vote on all seven of us. That part is
intimidating. Am I gonna be able to stand out past
those other six people one of which I really like because she's a good friend
of mine that we kind of declared together that we would do a TED talk
together one day. But out of those six people am I going to be able to make an
impression on them and the content is good enough it's believable enough the
stories are right that I'll stand out enough that they'll say you know what we
like him we would love to hear his full TED talk.
So we'll see lots going on on a lot of going on so I'm gonna wrap it up right
