Honor View 10 Camera - Good but not class-leading image quality - Techno Polish - Duration: 3:36.

Following in the footsteps of the Huawei Mate 10 once again, the View 10 uses a dual-lens

rear set up, consisting of a 20MP monochrome lens and a 16MP RGB lens, both with native

f/1.8 apertures.

The only difference is that they don't boast the Mate 10's Leica smarts or any optical

image stabilisation, to help keep prices down.

The two cameras work together in every shot – the colour lens capturing the main colour

part of the photo, with the higher-megapixel monochrome lens on hand to help add in detail

from zoomed shots.

You can also take an artsy black-and-white picture with just this lens by selecting the

monochrome mode from the menu.

There's more besides that too, including a pretty extensive pro (manual) mode, an HDR

mode (it isn't automatic, unfortunately), an AR lens for adding fun filters over your

photos, a la Snapchat, and a time-lapse mode, among others.

There are also a number of options on the main camera screen itself, including the option

to capture a small video snippet with every photo (sort of like Apple's Live Photos),

an aperture adjuster (from f/0.9 to f/16) and a portrait mode for introducing a bokeh

effect onto your pictures – the latter being available on both the front and rear-facing

cameras.

Stick with the auto mode, and the View 10 uses its AI smarts to clock what you're

shooting and ensure it tweaks its settings to suit.

This works fast and accurately, recognising when you're shooting things like pets, flowers,

landscapes or people, though it's unclear exactly what it's changing (or how it's

improving things).

Still, picture quality is largely good for this level, if not without its hiccups.

While it's quick in use, with autofocus proving to be reliable and next to no shutter

lag, it's not the most consistent in its results.

One snap will balance lighting well, producing a sharp, focused and well-exposed shot, but

then on the next, the brightness will be far too high, leaving overpowering highlights,

and losing detail in the process.

It's a shame, as when the View 10 gets things right, you can get nice looking photos – however,

zoom in and you will notice that fine detail levels are only so-so, and the edges to objects

aren't always as sharp as I'd like.

Noise is quick to creep in when light drops past its best too, as the View 10 tries to

squeeze more light into the shot.

The lack of OIS also makes these shots hard to get right first time too – you'll often

get a few shaky results before getting one that's Instagrammable.

If you've got the know-how, the manual camera is likely to be more consistent in its capabilities,

but with a bit of patience, you can get some good pictures out of the View 10.

However, we'd say the OnePlus 5T has overall better results across the board, particularly

when it comes to fine detail and low light.

Halo Neuroscience REVIEW: Good in theory but I have to WARN YOU - Duration: 8:03.

- Morning trainiacs!

Working out erryday in the pain cavern.

Got a bit of a moderately sized workout today.

Think it's gonna be about a 70 minute bike workout,

and then I was supposed to do a run

workout later in the day,

but I said to Coach Pat,

"Uh, dude, I think I'm doing most of my run workouts

at night, in the morning as a brick workout."

Bonus pain!

And who remembers these, the Halo Neuro Sport headphones?

I think I know my opinion about them.

I'll give them to you today.

(upbeat music)

So yesterday, I started reading this book.

This is "Running Rewired" by Jay Dicharry?

Dicharry? Dicharry.

Jay is the physiotherapist, trainer, something like that,

like the "let's make sure you're healthy" coach

for Linsey Corbin, and he helped get her

through her stress fracture and come back

and actually PR on the run course in Kona.

I just started reading this last night,

and right at the start of the book,

it says that to become a better runner, yes,

you may need more miles, but more importantly,

you need to run more efficiently

with proper form and a strong body,

and the key to that is training your body

with neuroplasticity, being able to rewire

the firing patterns that your brain sends to your muscles

so that you can move in a more efficient way

than your body naturally wants to move,

and the whole big, hairy premise

behind these things is all about neuroplasticity.

So I'm gonna give them another shot,

and we'll talk about them right after this workout, okay?

(inhales) Oh, it's gonna be something.

It's gonna be something.

(upbeat music)

This day calls for the stinkiest of hats.

(upbeat music)

(exhales) Okay, that was a 25 minute run after a 102 bike.

Bike had a lot of heavy gear work,

and the 25 minute run was 2.85 miles, uh, 4 1/2 kilometers,

and I ended at 9.3 miles an hour for 30 seconds.

Patrick Lange does that for an entire marathon.

Okay, so let's talk about these

Halo Neuroscience headphones.

I've had these since just after Kona.

Really interesting premise.

Tim O'Donnell uses it.

Sarah Piampiano uses it,

and the premise behind it is that these pods here

activate the motor cortex of your brain,

which is in between the ears, coincidentally,

and it primes your motor cortex to fire quicker,

to have more feel of your running stride

or quick movements that you're doing.

I looked it up, and there are, legitimately,

studies that say that transcranial direct stimulation,

which is the technology in this,

does actually improve motor function.

Your reaction time is quicker.

Your body awareness is quicker.

Your balance is quicker.

However, what it also says is that the voltage,

or like the tuning of what you actually activate

in your brain is really, really specific.

Now some of the reasons that I didn't really know

what I wanted to say about this are

because there aren't that many studies

that actually link this to improved performance.

The studies that Halo has on their website

are very clearly Halo-funded and Halo-designed,

so it's not like there were independent studies

that I could look to and be like,

"Oh, yeah, like this is totally legit."

And that said, because these are $500,

I wanted to really confidently say,

one way or another, what you should do.

Now, a couple of things about it, specifically as well,

that made me go like, "$500? Really?"

is you have to connect it to your phone

via Bluetooth to actually make it work.

Okay, fine, dandy.

It's very tough to connect.

It ends up disconnecting.

You gotta reconnect, and you end up

with Halo Sport Neuro something listed

like six times in your Bluetooth connections on the iPhone.

It doesn't necessarily connect to your head very well.

You've gotta make these things

like absolutely soaked to get a good connection,

and then you've gotta really press it down

to the point that it's hurting

to get that connection in your phone

to the point that you can start it.

However, if you hold that down really, really hard,

then hit start, and then close the app,

you can release it, and it's a lot more comfortable,

and it'll go through the entire 20 minute cycle,

and you're all good, no big deal.

The last thing that was a real piss-off was

you gotta connect it via Bluetooth,

but you can't actually listen to music via Bluetooth.

You have to listen with a cord.

I didn't like that.

That just bugged me,

but "Does it work?" is the big question.

I would say that if you were looking for

the tip of the spear, the absolute most sophisticated,

technologically advanced gear that you can get,

yeah I'd go for it.

I do find that when I do, say, one-legged drills,

my balance is a little bit better.

I do have a feeling, could be the placebo effect,

I've a little bit more body awareness

when I'm on the treadmill like I was today.

You do that 20 minute priming session,

and apparently for 60 minutes after that,

these effects are going to help you,

and then because your body is firing

in that neuroplasticity kinda way

where your brain is ready to accept new muscular patterns,

that is going to then translate into better form

when you're out on the racecourse,

and apparently it's going to solidify

those connections between your brain and your muscles

so you have less chance of bonking.

But was it like I put these on and all the sudden

turned into a superhuman and could confidently say,

"You guys have to try this. It's phenomenal."? No.

So for $500, I really struggled for a lot of months

with what I was gonna do with these.

To be perfectly honest, they said,

"Hey, we wanna sponsor you. Can we sponsor you, Taren?"

I said, "Well, let me try these out,"

and I'm actually giving up a fair bit of money

because I can't recommend these so heavily.

That really willingness to sponsor

also sends a bit of a red flag

that maybe a bunch of the people out there

have their opinions sponsored for.

I'm not saying that's the case.

I'm just saying, "I gotta watch out for you guys."

Give them a try. They're not awful.

Just...

I don't know.

I'm sorry, Halo.

I like you guys; you were nice too.

Later, trainiacs.

I Was Tired Of Dieting, But I Never Imagined That I Would Lose 14 kg In 21 Days With This Drink - Duration: 2:09.

And is that our diet directly influences the body weight we have.

That is why many people today are obese, because they do not care what they eat

Since the society determines as attractive a thin and delineated body, many put this

goal.

However, more than an aesthetic problem, this constitutes a health problem.

That is why we should pay close attention to our body weight.

If lately we see that we have gained weight, we must look for ways to reduce.

To lose weight, there are countless procedures, both medical and physical.

However, these are not always as effective as we would like.

In addition, generally these methods to lose weight consume a lot of time and energy.

Therefore, if you want to lose weight in a short time and practically no effort, this

remedy is for you.

Dieting Plan:DRINK OF GINGER, CUCUMBER AND LEMON

INGREDIENTS: Grated ginger (1 tablespoon) .Pepino (1 unit) .Limón (1 unit).

Fresh mint (15 leaves).

Mineral water (1 liter).

HOW TO PREPARE AND USE:

To begin, we should boil the water in a pot.

When it reaches the boiling point, add the mint leaves and put out the fire.

Now, we will proceed to cover the pot and let it rest for about 5 minutes.

Exhausted this time, we will strain the substance and keep it in a clean container.

Next, we must peel the lemon, extract all the juice and preserve the peel.

Then, we will wash the cucumber, chop it into slices and put it next to the lemon juice.

Now, add 3 pieces of lemon peel in the same container and store the mixture.

Finally, we will join both substances and mix them well, reserving it in a glass container

in the fridge.

Since this substance can be very strong for some people, we will start by drinking 1 glass

per day.

This can be divided into several portions during the day.

Then, we will gradually increase the dose until we reach 3 glasses per day.

My sister wants to be a model but doesn't try AT ALL [Hello Counselor Sub : ENG,THA / 2018.03.26] - Duration: 28:13.

He sent us his concern

because he's frustrated by someone

who just won't give up.

"Promise Me That You'll Give Up."

Hello. I'm a man in my 20s with many concerns.

I have one younger sister.

She always heard this as she grew up.

"She's so tall.

She'd be perfect as a model."

So she grew up dreaming of becoming a model.

That's when my concern began.

"Hey! Until when are you going to lounge around?"

"Mind your own business!

I'm going to become a model."

"Stop eating! You said you want to be a model!"

"Mind your own business!"

My sister who dreams of becoming a model has been

eating and drinking at night for 5 years now.

That's a long time.

Then one day... "Dongju! I got a job!

I'm going to earn money, take classes,

and become a model."

I thought she was finally coming around, but...

"I don't want to go to work.

I'm not going! I quit!"

She repeatedly quit her job within days.

I think she has quit more than 25 jobs so far.

My sister dreams without working hard.

Please help me get through to her.

An older brother who's concerned about

his younger sister sent us this concern.

Please come on out.

(Kim Dongju)

(The brother is tall, too)

(Nice to meet you)

If people told your sister that often

- she must be tall. / - Yes.

- How tall is she? / - 174-175cm?

174cm? She's tall enough to be a model.

How does she spend her days that

you sent us your concern?

Those who are trying to become models

work hard to do so.

- They go to auditions, too. / - Yes.

My sister doesn't do any of that.

She eats midnight snacks.

She doesn't watch her weight.

She drinks a lot, too.

She can drink 3 bottles by herself.

Then one day...

I live in Hongseong and she lives in Cheonan.

I went to her place and

empty soju bottles greeted me instead of her.

I thought she sold empty bottles to earn money,

but she proudly said that she drank them.

Wow.

So you don't live together?

After she graduated school

she moved to Cheonan to take modeling classes

to become a model.

She got a job, but...

The longest she has worked is 3 months.

She usually quit after 3 weeks.

(That's a concern)

In your opinion, does your sister

have a chance to become a model?

Well, I don't know.

(He blurts out how he feels)

She took a profile picture at school.

She looks great in the picture.

She looks like a model.

She has that charisma?

She looked like Jang Yoonju to me.

(Really?)

Let's meet his sister to talk to her.

Hello.

Hello.

Please stand up for us.

Let's see how tall you are.

- She's tall. / - Please turn around.

Pose like a model for us.

Pose.

(She poses like a model?)

She's too shy.

(Confident at first, but shy later)

Thank you.

She's really tall.

Do you understand your brother's concern?

Yes, I'd be frustrated...

(What?)

I'd be frustrated, too.

Then why do you live that way?

You're not desperate to succeed, right?

I'm desperate.

Then why haven't you put in any effort for 5 years?

I am not all that confident.

I don't have a pretty face.

As you already know,

models' faces aren't normally beautiful.

It's all about their bodies and sense of fashion.

That's what matters most.

Your brother said you just lounge around all day.

Are you thinking of modeling lying down?

Does such thing even exist?

Why do you do that?

He said you don't try hard.

You should go to auditions or

look for some opportunities.

But you're not doing that.

I think... How should I put this?

I was never confident enough.

That's just an excuse.

You should work hard to become confident.

How old are you?

- I'm 27 years old. / - 27.

You should do something soon.

Why aren't you confident in yourself?

I think I just closed myself up from the world.

You think that you can't make it?

Yes, that's what I think.

But then I want to try it, too.

I want to try it. I don't want to give up.

But I'm not confident...

You just give up thinking that you can't make it.

But you want to keep trying.

That just repeats over and over again?

So you've never challenged yourself?

Never.

Why do you want to become a model?

When I was in college

I was on stage for my graduation project.

People looked at me as I walked down the runway.

It felt great to be on stage.

He said that you drink every day.

Why do you drink so much?

I think so lowly of myself.

You're frustrated.

I feel comforted when I drink.

That's why I end up drinking.

I also enjoy drinking with friends, too.

I can talk to them and have fun.

(Sigh...)

Your brother said that you quit your jobs

too quickly and too soon.

Many people work in factories.

Having a tough job is fine, but I just can't

stand having conflicts with other people.

I couldn't get used to it, so I quit quickly.

So you quit and got another job, right?

You just keep doing the same thing?

Yes. I guess I didn't have enough will to work.

I guess so.

Your brother said that you like to sleep in

and that's why you can't go to work.

Sometimes I intensely don't feel like doing anything.

(She shouts for freedom to the world)

"I don't want to do anything!" Like that?

Yes. I really don't want to do anything.

I admit that I spend too long not doing anything

and I regret that now.

You just want to have fun, right?

You like being with your friends?

- Well, yes. / - Having fun is fine.

What was the shortest time you had a job?

- A quarter of a day. / - What?

That's not a job. You just stopped by.

I went to eat.

You quit after working a few hours? Wow.

That's not being considerate of others.

You're being irresponsible.

You went and asked to work there then just left.

Where does that confidence come from?

(Grow up, sis...)

I think we need to hear what you have

planned exactly for your future.

Do you have one?

I think your brother wants to hear that.

As like my final try,

I'm going to work for a year and

look for a cheap place in Seoul and

take modeling classes and as I work part-time

I want to learn how to become a model.

How much do you plan to save up?

About $10,000.

How much do you have so far?

Right now?

About $2,000.

When will you save up $10,000?

You're not doing anything.

I have a job right now.

You're planning to work there for a while then?

Yes.

She wants you to give her a year.

She's been doing that for 4-5 years.

- That "just one year"? / - Yes.

She has said this before?

Yes.

I'd trust her if she changes her behavior,

but she still goes to nightclubs often.

My mom's friend must've seen her at a club.

She told our mom when she got home.

She saw my sister at a nightclub

with her hair in a mess and

taking over the nightclub stage.

Wait. Your mom's friend saw her?

What was your mom's friend doing at a nightclub?

I don't know.

I'd understand if her daughter went.

What clubs allow people of different age groups?

Are people of different ages there?

We're very curious.

The age groups change after midnight.

What do you mean?

Who are at the club before midnight?

Older men and women.

And after midnight?

Young people.

So did your mom's friend not leave?

Or did you go in early?

She didn't go home on time.

(Mom's friend working overtime)

Oh, that feels good.

(Mother... Please go home on time)

- She broke the rules. / - It's her fault.

It was her fault.

Does she ask you for money?

Even now?

It's okay to ask me for money, but

the problem is that she's very immature.

One day, she asked me for 50 cents.

Then she asked me for a dollar.

She would ask me for a little change...

Why 50 cents and a dollar?

I don't know. She asked me for little change

and now she asks me for lots of money

so that she could go see a doctor.

She asks me for $150 to buy clothes.

She's asking for more now?

She asks me for $200 to go see a doctor.

It's getting bigger and it's tough for me.

How much do you give her each month?

I sometimes give her $800 a month.

Or sometimes it could be as little as $100.

- Max $800? / - When it's a lot.

She has a nice brother.

What was the 50 cents and $1 for?

Did you only have $9.50 and needed to round up?

What?

I was just speaking in a roundabout way.

You actually wanted $50, but

he only gave you 50 cents?

(The brother was at fault)

You said 50 and he sent you 50 cents?

Their acquaintances are here.

Let's talk to them. Hello.

I'm Dongju's friend.

Dongju asked me if his sister can

work where I work,

so I got Hyejeong a job.

The company provided her

a ride to work and a place to stay.

When she overslept,

someone would wait until she got ready

and drive her to work.

Then one day, she sent me a text message.

"I'm sorry. I quit my job.

I'm moving to Cheonan."

It put me in a bind at work and

since then, the system of recommending

an acquaintance was gone.

- They got rid of that system? / - Yes.

Shouldn't you have been more considerate?

It's irresponsible to quit with a text message.

I didn't quit with a text message.

I talked to my manager first.

I told the manager that I want to quit

and packed my things. He didn't know that I quit,

so he texted me to find out what's going on.

"I quit." "Why?"

That's what happened.

Did you know that she aspired to be a model?

Dongju told me that she majored in modeling,

so I knew about it. But when we worked together

she didn't seem to be trying to become one.

She wasn't looking after herself to become

a model, so I thought she'd given up on that.

She didn't act like she wanted to become a model.

I'm Hyejeong's friend from high school.

Hyejeong's brother calls me his spy.

A spy.

When her family calls her, they end up

nagging at her, so she screens the calls.

But she answers when I call.

So Dongju calls me to ask where she is,

what she's up to, and why she's not answering.

So I call Hyejeong to ask what she's doing

and tell Dongju what's going on.

That must've been tough.

I would feel bad if I don't tell Dongju,

but I feel bad for betraying Hyejeong.

So many times, I felt awkward in the middle.

That must've been tough.

In your opinion as her friend,

does she have the possibility of becoming a model?

Besides a nice figure,

a model needs a unique-looking face.

Do you know model Hong Jingyeong?

- Yes. / - They look alike.

They both have long faces.

- Hong Jingyeong? / - I've known her for years.

She has that unique look.

But my friend is pessimistic and has low self-esteem.

Yes. That's the problem.

When she sees other women,

she compares herself to them. "Are they fatter?

Am I fatter? Who's skinner?

Why am I so ugly? What's wrong with me?"

She's very pessimistic,

so I often feel bad for her.

Do you have a role model? Hong Jingyeong?

Han Hyejin.

Why? You look like Hong Jingyeong.

What about Han Hyejin do you like?

She has a friendly image and I like that

she becomes a professional when she works.

Then look at how Han Hyejin has lived her life.

Follow her footsteps.

There's another problem.

Even if she works 2-3 days, she gets paid.

Then she goes all out?

She drinks with that money.

She doesn't have enough money for her phone bills.

She hasn't paid her rent either.

She said she saved up $2,000.

This was in the past.

- You paid everything back? / - Yes.

They were overdue.

It looks like you won't be friends anymore.

She may not answer your calls for a while.

Did you ever consider doing something else?

- No, not yet. / - Not yet?

This is what's strange.

You've never really tried to become a model

and never worked as a model.

But you've been dreaming about becoming one for years.

That's what I don't get either.

And you say you're not confident.

I've never seen a concern like this.

That's not the point.

Your family in Hongseong must worry about you.

Why don't you answer their calls?

They keep nagging about the same things.

You keep doing the same things.

That's why they nag about the same things.

It's because you haven't changed your ways.

How did you get ahold of her this time?

I...

He sent me 80 texts.

He wrote, "We're going to be on Hello Counselor."

So I replied, "I'm not going!"

"You tell the scriptwriter yourself then!"

So I ended up talking to the scriptwriter

and she was so eloquent.

Good job!

She's working very hard, too.

You're done once she gets you.

Once she calls you, it's done.

It's almost like voice phishing.

(We wait to hear about your concerns)

It must be tough for your parents, right?

Yes. They live far away and

they can't get ahold of her.

Mom has a hard time.

She said that one day my sister called and said,

"Let's cut ties if you're going to nag."

What?

Mom got so upset by that comment and called me.

Did you really say that to your mom?

This is what happened.

I told mom how tough it was for me.

"Mom, I'm having a hard time.

What should I do?" She got frustrated

and called my brother.

Then my brother called to yell at me.

"Hey, you terrible, awful, blank blank.

We don't need someone like you in the family.

Let's cut ties. Don't call mom!"

At the time...

Your brother said that first?

So you called mom and said the same thing?

She called me.

She called when I was trying to calm down.

I told her, "Why did you tell Dongju?"

And you said you'll cut off all ties with her?

Yes. I became just like my brother.

I was hurt, too.

I didn't get a loan from a loan shark or anything.

She was just worried about you.

Why did you say such hurtful things to her?

Mom...

She's been supporting my sister for years.

My parents are farmers.

They don't earn a lot of money from it.

Farmers don't earn much these days.

She works part-time at a rest stop every evening.

She works on the farm during the day and

she works at a rest stop at night to support us.

So she works at night for more money, too.

She farms and works part-time.

Yes, she works the night shift.

I wanted to surprise her so

I went to see her without telling her.

She was apologizing to a customer.

I don't know what she was apologizing about.

And you happened to see that.

I didn't want to see that,

so I was about to look away.

Then I saw her hands.

Her hands were covered in dirt from farming

and it doesn't come off anymore.

And she was apologizing to the customer for us.

No one likes to hear others complain.

But she just kept apologizing and

the customer kept yelling at her.

I just turned around and went home.

I can't believe we're putting her through that.

You couldn't help but say those harsh things.

I told myself that I have to be good to mom.

Oh no. Can I have some water?

(Everyone is reminded of their mothers)

This is why your brother said harsh things to you.

How do you feel now?

I think he was too emotional at the time.

I told her, "We must be good to mom."

But you heard that your sister complained to mom,

so that's why you called her names?

I was so angry.

So I told her, "Then let's cut ties

so that mom and I don't have to worry."

I feel bad about saying that.

I don't know what to say.

I want to be realistic here.

You need to find a company in the modeling field

and show them what you've got.

Whether it is a clothing company looking

for a fitting model, you should work there.

Then quickly decide if the path is right for you.

If you think you have a chance,

then go to the next level and find opportunities.

Discuss this with your brother and

do your best for a year.

You must set a certain time period.

I'm very doubtful though.

When someone has a dream

they end up looking for ways to do it.

If you have the will, you find the way.

You lose weight, practice walking and

look up information that you need.

But she's not doing any of that.

You seem to be very pessimistic.

What made you this way?

Since I have a long face,

boys teased me a lot when I was young.

I still get teased!

It was really tough.

But you can't change how you look.

"Why do I look this way?

Why do I have a long face? Why do I have

a big head?" You can't live like that.

You can't change how you look.

You have to accept it and overcome it.

If you look at Yeongja,

she is a very popular MC now.

But she failed the comedian exam many times.

I told people 4, but I actually failed 8 times.

I never passed the exam.

But I continued to work in this field

and word got around. A producer came later

and told me he wanted to hire me.

After seeing her on stage at an event.

I'm glad you are here today. Wanna One.

They are sitting here today and

they may seem lucky that they are so popular.

But they really worked hard to get here.

Tell us how hard you worked.

You have the right to do so.

Please tell us.

I can say that...

You said you were desperate to become a model.

For us, being on that audition program itself

was because we were desperate to make it happen.

We really wanted to become part of Wanna One.

During the 6-month program,

we only slept an hour a day to practice.

After the program was done, we practiced more.

Right.

We only focused on that during those 6 months

and finally became Wanna One.

You were in training before the program, right?

How old were you when you started to train?

I was in middle school.

Middle school?

- I came to Seoul by myself. / - Really?

I heard that Seongwu got a free ride.

(Boo)

- All right. / - I was just making a joke.

She was just kidding.

She's just doing her job.

I was just kidding.

I dreamed of becoming a star for 10 years.

During those 10 years, I worked hard at times,

I fooled around as much as I wanted at times.

I felt despaired and overcame it.

There were so many moments.

I think the biggest problem here

is that you have low self-esteem.

You aren't able to love your beautiful self just

the way you are.

I was discouraged at times and

I was embarrassed at times. I struggled a lot.

But I still believed in myself.

"I can do it. I will make it. I have a chance.

I'm going to be someone great."

I always had that hope in my heart.

I overcame any obstacles thanks to that hope.

I was just like her before I joined Wanna One.

While I was attending college,

I wanted to sing on stage so badly,

but I couldn't.

So I worked part-time jobs and

rented a room to practice.

I was actually in a band before

because I wanted to become a vocal singer.

I wasn't so confident about dancing.

But I was so desperate to become a singer

that I went on that program.

I didn't think I would make it.

I thought, "Let's just show what I have and go."

Fortunately, people liked what they saw in me.

Every week he said,

"I won't make it this time. Let's do our best."

He said that every week,

but he got better week after week.

Being on that audition program without an agency

is just...

He made it.

As you all know, Sangmin was

loved by the public as part of Roo'Ra.

Then he established his own agency and

it was as big as SM or YG at the time.

Then he hit rock bottom.

But he still thought highly of his own value

and told people that.

What I always tell younger singers is,

"Even if someone who doesn't have talent

fights hard to make it, people see that as art."

In the past, I really wanted to become a singer,

but I had nothing.

So I went to a band practice room and

started out by cleaning the place.

Then the band got a chance to perform on

"KBS Big Show" one day and

I came to the broadcasting station for the first time.

No one asked me to, but I just danced like crazy.

I wanted someone to notice me.

I made up all kinds of dances and someone

on the production team happened to see me do that.

He gave me his business card and asked me to call him.

He said that his friend was looking for

a dance singer. So since then, I went to

different agencies and became a singer.

If you have the will and the dream,

you can make it even without talent

if you do your best and struggle to make it.

But I don't see that desperation at all in you.

That's right.

It doesn't matter for us.

Whether you waste away your year

or not, it doesn't matter to us.

But since you are here today

I hope you use this chance to change yourself.

Do your best. Whether you make it or not.

It's not about whether you become a model or not.

It'd be great if you achieve your dream.

But even if you don't make it, I hope you aren't

discouraged and blame yourself.

Think about that first.

Okay. Why don't you tell your sister

what you want from her?

I know your dream is important,

but I hope you know that mom is struggling.

Be nicer to her.

I want to support your dream, but you haven't

tried your best yet. But I will have faith in you.

Let's start with Sangmin.

I think it's a concern.

I think it's a concern, too.

The hardest time I had was

- when I had low self-esteem. / - Right.

The most crucial thing is to love yourself.

I don't think it's a concern.

It's not a concern.

I hope you use your desperation

to work hard and become a successful model.

If you think it's a concern for her older brother,

please press the button.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Please stop.

Please say a word to your brother.

I will give up if it doesn't work out.

I'll be good to mom.

Let's be good to dad, too.

(We hope you get back your self-esteem!)

Please show us the result.

"Promise me that you'll give up."

Currently the winner has 163 votes.

They got over 100 votes.

They need 172 votes to win.

(What's the result?)

142 votes.

(They got 142 votes)

Montréal Is Breathing Better, But Challenges Remain

HuffPost Illustration.

Air quality has always been one of Montréal's preoccupations.

Already by 1872, when coal combustion was at its peak and black smoke shrouded the city, Montréal had adopted a bylaw aiming to reduce air pollution, thus becoming the first Canadian city to regulate on the matter.

Since then, the black smoke subsided, giving way to hydroelectricity, and air quality improved in our metropolis.

However, we are far from having won the battle, and today's issues are more complex than ever before.

This is why my administration is firmly committed to fighting greenhouse gas emissions, a battle we will fight on every front.

Mobility is not only at the heart of my preoccupations, but will also be at the very heart of our fight against air pollution.

Transportation alone produces nearly 40 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions in Montréal.

If we want to reach our 30 percent reduction objective by 2020, compared with the greenhouse gas emission levels in 1990, we must improve mobility in Montréal.

Nicolas Kipourax Paquet via Getty Images Mobility in Montréal will be at the heart of its fight against air pollution.

Several options must be considered to fulfill our commitment.

Thus, we must offer a more effective, more comfortable and quicker public transit system, to encourage Montrealers to use it.

Active transportation will also have to be put forth, namely by offering safe biking and pedestrian infrastructures, thus converting more people to biking and walking.

We will also have to make solo driving less attractive, namely by promoting carpooling, so as to reduce the number of vehicles on our city's streets.

Our program is an ambitious one, but we have the willpower to reach our goals.

But that's not all.

To reduce the population's needs in terms of mobility, we must take a look at urban planning on our territory.

Urban sprawl has generated considerable transportation needs, too often met by solo driving.

Over the course of the next few years, we will have to revise how we build our neighborhoods and our city, so as to densify our territory but also to offer all of our city's households access to local services within their own neighborhoods, thus reducing the cost of their mobility needs.

Tom Szczerbowski via Getty Images Montréal will have to revise how it builds its neighborhoods and its city to reduce the cost of mobility needs.

Greenhouse gas emissions produced by the vehicles on our streets will also have to be reduced.

Renewable energy sources will have to be introduced, and the efficiency of freight transportation will have to be improved, so the air we breathe no longer bears the brunt of our transportation habits.

These goals are not just wishful thinking on our part.

Shortly after being sworn in, I, like so many other North American mayors, signed the Chicago Climate Charter.

Under this agreement, all participating cities must offer safe and accessible active transportation and public transit to their citizens.

Moreover, the charter requires that municipal administrations invest in their public transit networks and in their vehicle fleet, so as to reduce their carbon footprint.

We are deeply committed to keeping our promises, to remaining proactive and to providing future generations with improved air quality.

Our work is actually already in progress.

For more than 50 years now, Montréal has been measuring air quality through 15 different monitoring stations strategically located on the island.

This allowed us to record a steady improvement in air quality since the year 2000.

Thus, the carbon monoxide present in the air was reduced by 53 percent, hydrogen sulfide was reduced by 75 percent, benzene levels went down 90 percent, nitrogen dioxide is 77 percent lower, and sulfur dioxide was reduced by 81 percent from 2000 to 2016.

In addition, fine particle concentrations in the air were also 38 percent lower in 2016 than they were in 2009.

Since 2014, the average yearly fine particle concentration is even lower than the norm suggested by the World Health Organization.

However, we are still far from having won the battle.

This is why the city has decided to adopt the bylaw concerning solid-fuel-burning devices and fireplaces.

These devices are responsible for 39 percent of fine particle emissions, second only to transportation, responsible for 45 percent of those emissions.

Our administration also wishes to invest in the greening of our city, by increasing the number of trees on its territory.

This will not only improve air quality, but also fight against heat islands.

STM Société de transport de Montréal is hoping to expand its network of hybrid buses, such as those above, and also electric buses.

A few days ago, we also launched a call for tenders that will allow the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) to purchase 300 new hybrid buses, whereby we will considerably increase the quality of the network's services, all while reducing our carbon footprint.

Furthermore, 40 electric buses will be added to the STM's fleet over the next few years.

Our objective is clear, and we will not lose sight of it.

In the short term, Montréal has earmarked an additional contribution of about 28 million Canadian dollars ($22.5 million) for the STM in 2018.

This amount will allow the STM to increase metro frequency outside of rush hour, and to add buses to less-serviced neighborhoods, such as Griffintown and Rivière-des-Prairies, for instance.

Air quality is every Montrealer's business.

Although the situation is improving across the island, every neighborhood and every household still plays a role in reducing air pollution, if only by their chosen method of transportation or the greening of their streets.  The past few years have allowed us to significantly improve air quality in Montréal, but we still have a long road ahead before we can say we've won the battle.

I am convinced that, together, we will reach our goals.

( US News ) Mexico City Cleaned Up Its Act But Mexicans Don't Believe It - Duration: 11:26.

Mexico City Cleaned Up Its Act But Mexicans Don't Believe It

MEXICO CITY ― The air pollution in Mexico City was once so bad, birds would drop dead from the sky.

In 1992, the city earned the dubious honor of taking the top spot on the list of most polluted cities in the world.

Today, a quarter of a century later, the city has cleaned up its act ― at least somewhat.

Last year, there were 24 days with clean air in the capital, according to Mexico City's System of Atmospheric Monitoring.

In other words, the larger capital area had more than 240 days during which the pollution index was more than 50 points over recommended levels, which may not sound like a great record.

Still, that's an improvement over the year before when there were only 17 days with clean air in the capital.

While the city still places in the top 10 in terms of pollution, its air quality has improved markedly as a result of aggressive legislation and heightened awareness of a problem that kills more than 6 million people around the world every year.

Don't expect residents to applaud, however.

Most chilangos, as residents of Mexico City are known, don't believe the government is telling the truth on pollution.

"Those statistics are no good to me," said Omar Farías, who runs a convenience store south of the capital city.

"I know that the air is bad because my head hurts and my eyes water."  Bloomberg via Getty Images A man rides a bicycle past traffic in Mexico City.

Investment in a public bicycle access program is one step the city has taken to combat air pollution.

Mexico City officials have made significant investments over the last few years to improve the air quality in the city.  The capital put $450 million toward new sustainable buses and new bus routes along the city in a program called Metrobus.

And like other cities around the world, Mexico City has invested in a public bicycle access program.

Since they debuted on the street seven years ago, the red-and-white bikes, known as EcoBici, have become a common feature on Mexico City streets.  Mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera signed the Chicago Climate Charter last year, joining more than 50 mayors from around the world in a pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

"We have been able to contain the air pollution and even managed to lower levels," he told journalists at a news conference this month.

The investments have taken place against a growing awareness of the problem among voters.

These days, Mexicans check air quality reports in the way others might check the weather forecast.

Local authorities run a Twitter account that reports on the conditions and offers practical tips.

And when residents of the Mexican capital go to the polls next year to elect a new mayor, air pollution will be one of the key campaign issues.

A study by the International Development Research Center shows that more than 60 percent of Mexico City residents doubt the government's information, with some believing the government has a political interest in promoting its anti-pollution programs and others simply believing the agencies are lying.

Tanya Müller, the secretary of environment for Mexico City, maintained anti-pollution efforts by this and past administrations have helped slash carbon monoxide and other exhaust by two-thirds.

"Air quality in Mexico City has improved," she said at a recent news conference.

"I insist: Anyone saying the air pollution is worse now is ignorant on the subject." Bloomberg via Getty Images Vehicles move through traffic during morning rush hour on the Circuito Interior in Mexico City.

More than 7 million people commute daily to the city for work.

Efforts to combat air pollution began almost three decades ago when the Institutional Revolutionary Party, which has governed the country for most of the past century and is currently in power, mandated that residents of the capital should keep their cars at home one weekday every week in a program known as Hoy No Circula.

Car owners also have to take their vehicles in for emissions testing every six months as part of the program.

The program was enhanced by subsequent administrations, and today there are strict rules for which days odd- and even-numbered license plates can be on the road.

But at least one study, published last year in Scientific Reports, suggested results from the program were disappointing, perhaps because those who could afford it simply bought two cars and alternate between them.

"The government wants us to leave our car one day a week but they don't offer any alternative in terms of decent public transportation," said Luis Atienzo, a chemist and father of three who lives in the suburb of Satélite.

Like many other families here, especially in the middle class, when the government introduced the Hoy No Circula program in 1989, Atienzo's father bought an additional car to help the family skirt the rules.

Later on, Atienzo formed his own family and took advantage of low rates, banking credits and family savings to buy a family SUV as well as a car for him and one for his wife.

"I am one of the thousands of motorists who drive solo to work every single day," Atienzo said.

"It's ridiculous and maybe offensive.

But I have no choice.

The distance between home and work is merely 8 miles but, because of the very bad public transport system, it would take more than three hours to get to the office and punch my card." Atienzo doesn't think the extra car amounts to cheating.

"It's not forbidden," he said.

"Besides, the government hasn't created good commuting for people like us." Mexico City actually has the highest level of investment in urban transport infrastructure in the country but, paradoxically, the worst mobility, according to the consulting firm SinTráfico.

More than 7 million people commute daily to Mexico City to work, making the capital the worst place to drive a car.

Bloomberg via Getty Images Pedestrians cross a street in downtown Mexico City.

Many residents say they can feel the effects of air pollution in the city.

While  Hoy No Circula and emissions tests lowered the most harmful gas emissions such as ozone, the burning of fossil fuels still produce carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane and hydrofluorocarbons, which also affect the city.

The Mexican capital, which is home to 20 million people, is also cursed by its topography when it comes to air pollution.

Particles from nearby factories, dust from the deforested terrain around the metropolis and exhaust from the cars, buses and trucks are trapped within the valley.

And because of the altitude, there is less oxygen, says Maricela Yip, who has been studying Mexico City's air quality for almost two decades with support from the University of Salzburg.

Research shows that prolonged exposure to pollutants can cause significant health problems ― including severe respiratory illnesses, lung cancer and impaired cognition.

Children are especially at risk.

As many as 600,000 children under the age of 5 die every year from diseases caused by or exacerbated by air pollution, especially in poor nations, according to UNICEF.

Children, who generally breathe faster than adults, take in more air relative to their body weight and so are particularly vulnerable.

"Around 300 million children live in areas where the air is toxic ― exceeding international limits by at least six times," said the UNICEF report published in 2016.

Coronation Street icon returns from dead – but there's a sinister twist

In tonights episode, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) decided to get to the bottom Coronation Street cast newbie Rosemary Pipers (Sophie Thompson) alleged psychic abilities.

She arrived in Weatherfield and got to work on Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) and Gail Platt (Helen Worth), though not everything was as it seemed.

Audrey, originally a believer, changed her tune when she realised everything Rosemary told her was public knowledge or a good guess.

Gail, on the other hand, was the other way around, being a skeptic originally, before beginning to believe what Rosemary said.

To help his friend, Roy offered to speak to Rosemary to see if she could connect to anyone from his life.

"Its a man.

Or it could be a woman" Rosemary Piper Of course, viewers were expecting the late Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh) to come through.

Rosemary said she got someone coming through to her, saying: Its a man.

Or it could be a woman. Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) gave Audrey a look that seemed to confirm it was Hayley, but Audrey quickly quietened him in order to not give Rosemary any information.

Hayley was Roys wife, however was born as male Harold and died in 2014 after battling pancreatic cancer.

As Rosemary continued her deception, she confirmed it was in fact a woman she was speaking to and it was Roys wife.

But he said: Is it? Id considered removing my wedding ring, but I didnt want to leave you entirely helpless. Suddenly Rosemarys mood changed, as she said: Your wedding ring didnt tell me your wife was dead.

Im sorry, I refuse to work under these conditions..

Roy pressed Rosemary to give him the name of whoever she was speaking to, but she refused and ran off.

Audrey told her: I dont want to fall out with you, but you need to stop seeing my daughter.

Its not doing her any good. But with Rosemary clearly up to something, will everything end in tears? Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
