Annihilation is Confusing (or, why it's so fun to watch) - Duration: 5:27.
- How long did you think you were inside?
Annihilation is a film fueled by mystery. It follows the story of a former soldier
turned cellular biologist and grieving widow, Lena, whose presumed dead husband,
Kane, suddenly returns from a covert military operation with little to no
memory of his experience, only for him and Lena to be taken by the military as
a strange phenomenon known simply as 'The Shimmer' slowly engulfs the southern
coast and morphs everything within its boundary beyond comprehension.
Looking to find a way to help her husband Lena joins the latest expedition
into the Shimmer and witnesses all of its strange oddities firsthand. It's a
plot filled with all sorts of vagaries that, admittedly, had me scratching my
head in confusion, but it hooked me nonetheless. There's just something about
its dreamlike tone, its complex themes, and the way it twists the familiar into the
unknown that stuck with me. And today, I want to talk about why this makes
Annihilation so fun to watch. And yes, potential spoilers ahead, as well as a
content warning for disturbing imagery.
Annihilation's visual and aural design gives its sci-fi approach a tangible sense of unreality.
The Shimmer around which the story is set is littered with a rainbow of hues and tones, from its
hypnotic boundary wall to the multicolored light flares inside. The
landscapes within are similarly refracted, with the dense green forests
and grasslands looking as if they've been broken down into a cacophony of
blues, reds, yellows, pinks, and so on. The wildlife within the Shimmer strikes
an uncanny balance of being recognizably terrestrial, and yet, distinctly alien,
ranging from the oddly beautiful, to the hauntingly ominous,
to the downright terrifying.
This is emphasized by the soundtrack and the cinematography, whose deep synths and
surreal imagery respectively add to the dense atmosphere and help build a
harrowing dread in the audience. The film's visual and aural designs blend
together to give the film an almost dreamlike quality that toes the line
between morbidly fascinating and nightmarish. And it's all in service of
the existential focus of the film. Now, it's hard to talk about Annihilation's
themes, without completely spoiling it, and I do feel that this is one of those
films that is best seen knowing as little as possible, so I'll do my best not to go
into too much detail. Although, if yous want, I could do a thematic analysis of the
film later, but then again I feel like there's probably more than enough people
who've done a better job of that than I could. But, I'm getting off topic here.
Annihilation's core themes can be hard to decipher, and there are many ways in
which to interpret it, such as seeing it as an analogy for cancer, or addiction, or
even infidelity. And I think the clever thing about the movie is that it's built
to accommodate these varying interpretations under its broad yet
specific thematic through line, which is life's inherent tendency toward
self-destruction, or, one might say, self annihilation.
Ha! Get it, it's like the name of the film!
Ha ha, ha . . .
Uh, anyway . . .
Cancer is your body destroying itself, addiction is
impulse destroying your body, and infidelity is impulse destroying your
relationships. The film was keenly interested in exploring every facet of
this idea, even using it to comment on the nature of humanity, our aversion
toward the unknown and change, and even the nature of alien life, whether or not
they would comprehend concepts such as destruction, if they would view it the
same way we do, and so much more. Like I said, it's hard to describe without
explicitly spoiling the film, but to say simply, It manages to touch on a wide
variety of subjects whilst exploring existential ideas in such a way that
keeps you on the edge of your seat, and leaves you to wonder about, well, life.
That being said, it does have its problems. The pacing often feels off,
bouncing from scenes that pass in the blink of an eye to ones that drag on
forever, especially in the first act. Many of the characters are just, there, with
only two of them ever really feeling like they have any kind of character.
Even Lena, though having a few scenes that show off a genuine personality, just
feels blank most of the time. The dialogue can be clunky, throwing out
random tidbits of actually unnecessary exposition, and lines that drag on for
a sentence or two too long. And, strangely enough for a sci-fi film, the
explanations for the Shimmer's phenomenons, at times, just seem
convoluted for the sake of being convoluted. But, while I can understand
how these problems may ruin some people's experience, for me these
weaknesses are vastly outweighed by the film's strengths. Despite its flaws, I
found Annihilation to be a captivating movie. It's one whose uncanny setting,
nightmarishly fantastical creatures, and haunting soundtrack and imagery build a
dense atmosphere of intrigue and mystery I couldn't pull away from, and whose
musings on the very nature of life itself lingered in my mind long after
the credits rolled. At the end of the day, Annihilation is a movie that, ironically,
gets more and more beautiful, the more you break it down. And for me, that's what
makes it, so fun to watch.
And yeah, those are my thoughts. Let me know what yous
think, if yous agree, disagree, what your favorite sci-fi movie is, if that bear
was the scariest fucking thing you've seen all year (it certainly was for me),
etc, and thanks for watching! If yous enjoyed this, and wanna see more,

and what makes him such a great villain. Or check out my video on Violet Evergarden,
and why its slow pacing and emotional storytelling make it so fun to watch.

Trump's Opioid Plan Is WAY Too Little, Too Late - Duration: 4:59.
President Trump outlines this administration's plan to tackle the opioid crisis this week.
It's a plan that many critics are saying can be little too late.
Let's talk about what the plan is.
At the top of the plan, to me, I thought was so interesting Peter was he's going to execute.
We're going to start executing drug pushers.
What's not clear to me, if you really want to execute the right ones, it's got to be
the ones on Wall Street that pushed all these opioids out into the community.
That's the same thought I had.
Are we just defining pushers on the street corners?
Are we going to go up the corporate ladders?
Is it going to be by firing squad?
Are we going to shock them?
It's got some good components in it.
There are some good components.
What makes it severe [crosstalk 00:00:48].
Why does he say that?
The executions are just a little much.
It's this sweeping statement that we see all the time.
We're going to build the wall.
We're going to build the bigger nuclear.
It's the same kind of thing, we're going to execute the drug dealers.
Here's the story though that really should rise out of that.
Who are the drug dealers?
The drug dealers are not the cats on the street corner selling baggies of marijuana.
The drug dealers are up on Wall Street.
McKesson's CEO made $126 million in 2017.
That was his pay.
That's his pay, $126 million.
I could make a pretty good argument that he's the drug dealer.
He's the drug dealer.
He's the drug dealer.
He's making millions.
How about Cardinal?
Cardinal is another distributor.
We call him a drug distributor.
On the street they call him a drug dealer.
Since they're dressed up, and they look like business men, and they have MBAs, and they
went to college, we have to say, "No, they're drug distributors."
No, they're drug dealers.
Cardinal, Amerisource and McKesson, those are the three biggest.
They own 85% of the drug addiction problem in this country.
Now when he said, "I'm going to execute drug dealers," that's who he should be talking
about.
If he's going to do that, I'm fine with it.
How he does it is up to him, but I'm fine with the execution of these particular drug
dealers because I got to tell you something, it's going to happen again.
Yesterday, for example, you and I met with the attorney generals from all over the United
States.
Some of these attorney generals actually believe they can settle this without doing anything
by way of trying a case, which is impossible.
The only way these people react is to punish them.
That means take their money.
I got to tell you something.
I like Trump's idea.
Let's go ahead and execute the ones, and they won't do it again.
If the goal was to get attention, I think that works.
I think we could get some realistic attention by let's start getting some documents in some
of the congressional hearings.
Let's start looking.
Tell the people what the DEA did just this week.
Tell them about this ridiculous move that they made.
This is my favorite part.
You've got all these plans coming out.
This is DEA.
This is the federal government, it's the DEA.
Of all these federal plans coming out, with all of this let's fix the opioid crisis, and
here we have the DEA in federal court in Cleveland, which is where all the cases have been consolidated.
The DEA has this opportunity.
They keep track of every single pill that starts with the manufacturer and ends up on
the street.
They keep track of every single pill, and the court has given them the opportunity to
give us the roadmap, the DEA.
Instead of giving us the roadmap, instead of saying, "Here's where the problem areas
are," which they can clearly do.
Where are the pharmacies or the pill mills that are the problem?
The DEA is carrying water for big pharma making the objections like trade secrets, and these
are our business secrets.
We can't tell you where we sell.
On one hand, we have all this plan from President Trump.
On the other hand, the DEA is refusing to produce the roadmap.
Who is by the way answerable to the Attorney General of the United States.
Then we have Trump saying we're going to execute them, but here they have the chance to give
us the data.
They could give us the data.
We'd know exactly who the drug dealers are.
They have the data.
They refuse to give the data of the white collar thugs on Wall Street who are the people
who Trump should be talking about executing.
Then bring those CEOs in front of Congress and have them answer some questions with the
data that the DEA has, but instead they won't produce it.
Exactly.
Here's the real point.
Sessions, all his goofy talk about he's going to do this.
He could do something tomorrow.
He could do a perp walk tomorrow.
There is so much information that allows him to do that, but the guy, it's just the same
thing.
The guy with the briefcase, he's the real threat.
He's the bigger threat than the guy with the gun, I can tell you that.
In America today, that's the case.

People Are Wrapping Scarves Around Their Dogs And It Actually Has A Big Impact - Duration: 3:24.
people are wrapping scarves around their dogs and it actually has a big impact
dogs are wonderful companions is there anything better than having a canine
best friend for life sitting by your side
they are such sweethearts and they are so naturally predisposed to happiness
however just because they are normally happy-go-lucky that doesn't mean they
don't ever get nervous dogs are just like us they have their own phobias for
some dogs that means driving in a car while for others it can be stuff like
loud thunderstorms save yourself a trip to the vet or
dangerous medications with this new method of keeping your dog calm you'll
be amazed at what happens when you try out this technique on your own pooch if
they could talk they would say thank you
this Do It Yourself therapeutic half rap is making its rounds on social media it
helps dogs chill out during a time of high stress or anxiety to make it all
you need is a piece of fabric the length and width of a scarf then wrap it around
your dog of their chest and their Withers if you are unfamiliar with the
term Withers that just means at the base of the dog's neck it might seem like
something intimidating to try but the truth is that it's a breeze the half rap
makes them feel cozy and protected this is the next best thing to having your
arms around them imagine how secure your dog would feel being in your arms at all
times that's exactly what the half rap does they aren't just helpful they can
also be very stylish although using fabric scraps from home ones that smell
like you were a smart idea or athletic bandages works just fine
you can also special order a half wrap online making a half ramp shouldn't take
much time but you could also just buy one for your best friend
many people with nervous dogs swear by the Thunder shirt when it comes to
making sure their animals feel calm we normally think of small dogs as being
the ones who get nervous but every dog no matter its size can get a little
anxious when dogs get older they can get confused the half wrap help sue them if
you are nervous that trying a half wrap on your own dog will be too much of a
hassle then you can always practice at home
with a stuffed animal they don't squirm like your pup but they're much more
patient with beginners once you become a half wrapping pro getting your dog
quickly swaddled and quickly comforted will be an absolute snap it can even
help calm down antisocial dogs during walks where they might encounter other
dogs while most dogs might find being half wrapped a little bit strange at
first they adjusted to very quickly the key is to making it be a comforting and
sweet activity to share together not something they associate with already
feeling stress keeping that in mind the surefire way to have wrap your dog
successfully is to anticipate when he might be in stressful situations and to
make sure he's all bundled up tight before that stress or anxiety gets a
chance to strike this is a great idea for any stressed-out puppy it definitely
sounds like it's worth a try I hope you like this video then please

Your Perspective is BLOCKING the Law of Attraction from Working (How to Fix it) - Duration: 10:29.
this video will show you how to change your perspective to really attract what
you want I'm going to share with you a technique or practical exercise that you
can do to really reform the way that you see the whole process so that things
happen even quicker for you
welcome back another video my name is Erin and I help people expand their
consciousness now in this video I'm gonna be sharing something that I think
can be a game-changer for the way that you view the whole law of attraction
process and understanding that your beliefs are creating your reality that
this goes deeper than just the law of attraction than just focusing on what we
want because we will always get a direct reflection in our life of what we
believe to be true now recently because I'm developing a program right now
that's all about completely reforming our subconscious mind and letting go of
beliefs that no longer serve so that we really transform our life in a very
powerful way I've been studying everything I can possibly find on
understanding beliefs and how to change our beliefs and this is something that
isn't necessarily as talked about as the stuff from the law of attraction but I
will say it is definitely more powerful than just using the law of attraction to
focus on what we want now this is because it gets more to the core and
part of this getting to the core has to do with understanding what our beliefs
are now this is an example that I recently read that I really resonate
with imagine that all the beliefs we have that the beliefs that we have about
who we are what we experience we create a belief bubble around ourselves now
this is just a metaphor the idea is this belief bubble is something that we keep
alive through sub kin subconscious mind pattern towards recycle thoughts that we
have and it just keeps this bubble around us and then we walk around in
daily life and we are seen through this perspective through this lens and
everything we see will always be in reflection to what that bubble is
sustaining what it is projecting now the way and the most powerful way for us to
change our beliefs is to switch our perspective and learn and to learn how
to neutralize what we are thinking the memories we have the thoughts about the
future we have to neutralize it all from a observer point of view
now let me give you an example of this imagine that you are going and you're
driving somewhere now realize first off that we get emotions from beliefs that
we have from perspectives that we have and in order to very quickly change our
beliefs or perspectives it has to do with the shift in this level of
awareness now this was somebody that I read in a book recently he was talking
about example of when he was driving to drop his dad off at the hospital or he
bringing his dad to hospital his dad was a farmer he was bringing this out to his
hospital because he had really bad back pains and he was driving he's driving
quickly to the hospital but he realized that as he was driving quickly it was
making his dad uncomfortable because it is time to go against a bump or on dirt
road it would make him hurt even more so what he had to do is on this road he had
to know whereas normally you would drive 60 to 70 miles an hour he had to drive
40 miles an hour now normally he had all these beliefs about how uncomfortable
that made him feel to drive that slow because then there was a line of cars
behind him and that line of cars he was imagining was getting very angry because
he is driving and you know there's people behind him and he knew that he
would be mad if he was behind on a one-lane highway and there was someone
that was driving slow he was thinking of all the thoughts that he had through his
belief bubble he was thinking of how would I feel about this this is somebody
that I would normally get very angry with I would think they're idiots why
are they driving so slow I get angry for all this negative emotion and then he
imagined all the negative emotion that all of those drivers were feeling now
what happened is is he drove you know to the hospital and then what happened is
while he was driving he had a shift in perspective because then he started to
see things from more of a neutral point of view because instead of him getting
mad at people that are in front of him in the future
he realized that he doesn't know their story he they could be doing something
similar they could be driving someone that doesn't like to be driven fast they
could be driving someone that's in pain they could have a multiple different
reasons as to why they're driving slower but you see in the moment of us reacting
were not aware of what those beliefs are but the moment he switched that
perspective and he realized that Oh everyone's having their own experience
he realized that everyone might have their own reasoning for why they're
driving the way that they are it made it so that
from now on he doesn't have to buy into the same emotions and the same
perspectives as to what was priorly triggering him so that simple experience
changed his whole beliefs about the process and from that point going
forward he no longer can get angry when somebody's in front of him that's
driving slower because he's been in that position and in that experience now this
is a powerful example because even though it's about something it's a
little bit more muting we can apply this in our own lives when we're able to see
things from a neutral point of view we take ourselves out of that belief bubble
out of that identity bubble of where the way things work and understand that
identity bubble acts as a barrier of emotion because whatever we perceive
through that bubble it's going to be the meaning as to the emotions we feel now
understand we cannot have an emotional reaction without first having a belief
about something so the example I always use is a rainy day it depending upon
what you believe about a rainy day and how you associate with it that will
determine whether you get a positive emotional reaction or a negative
emotional reaction and the way that you know that is through how you feel and
you can always ask yourself the question what am i feeling right now what is my
perspective and now one of the easiest ways to shift your perspective to then
attract what you want is to first often neutralize it and to see it from new
points of view now this is something that was also very powerful that I
learned growing up because when I was in forensics debate which is just like
debate speech and debate back in high school there were these competitions
that we'd go to and there were certain debate topics and what we had to do is
we had to have the certain topic so for example one of the topics was I think
one of the topics was juveniles charged with violent crimes should be tried and
punished as adults that was one of the topics I had to make an affirmative case
and a negative case for that because the day of the competition
I might go through five different debate rounds and I might go the affirmative
and negative I might switch off every single time you don't get to pick which
side you're on now the benefit of this is what I've learned
early on or when I was in high school at least is that every perspective can be
seen from a different point of view especially when you have to debate it
you don't have a choice you know if I have to go the affirmative or negative
and whatever the topic is if I don't with it doesn't matter I still have to
debate it now the beauty of this is that I learned that everything is
fundamentally neutral that if you get into the perspective of it you will
start to believe it so that made me aware that you know I don't have to be
attached to any perspective because I can see it from either point of view
whether whatever topic it is now in the same way what you can learn to do is to
challenge your own beliefs challenge what you believe to be true see how can
I see this from a new point of view that pops that little belief bubble that we
have it allows us to really think from the way that we want now let me give you
the practical exercise that you can use to neutralize the old perspectives and
to start to have the perspective that you prefer easiest way to do this is to
first off learn to observe your thoughts if you learn how to observe your
thoughts everything will begin to change because you move yourself from the
reactive mind to then the observer mind and in the observer mind is where all
the magic happens so for example what I do is I meditate every day right when I
wake up in the morning what I do that started a candle flame because I helps
my mind not wander and I just focus on my thoughts I focus on my breathing I
focus on observing my thoughts not trying to control them now this is what
happens is as I observe those thoughts and I let them be there eventually they
start to go away more and more I start to just observe them from that neutral
place that's what I encourage you to do because as you do that within the first
10 15 20 minutes of when you wake up in the morning and you do for just maybe 5
10 minutes that trickles into the rest of your day because then later on in the
day when you're reacting to something you're like oh yeah I have an emotional
charge to this what is the belief I have about this you can then learn to observe
that to observe the emotion observe the thoughts you have and as you do that
that's where everything begins to change start to see and start to put yourself
in other people's point of view if you see that you know you're it behind
somebody and they're driving really slow what if maybe this isn't always
happening but what if they're in a similar situation to that guy that I
talked about earlier what if they have someone in the car
that is in pain and they have to drive that way what if they're afraid to drive
faster you can start to empathize and see that maybe if you were in a fearful
situation in the car that could be your spective as well one day and the idea is
to just be aware and rationalize it see it from a different rationalize point of
view and start to do that to challenge those beliefs that you have challenged
those beliefs and start to see think to yourself how can I see this from a
different point of view and as you start to do that you take yourself out of the
identity the belief bubble that you have and then you start to expand it out to a
larger scope of vision to where things can actually happen in a much powerful
way now let me tell you about the best news about what I've just recently done
I have created a subconscious mind meditation it's kind of like a hypnosis
it is something that specifically for Repat earning the beliefs and
perspectives that we have now I was originally gonna sell this but I thought
to myself I think that people will get so much benefit from it so what I did is
I put it in a link in the description it's at the very top you can click on it
you can download it I recommend that you listen to it right before you go to bed
at night and that what you do is you listen to it you feel the emotions of
what it's talking about it uses NLP it uses affirmations to really drill these
ideas in and that by doing that it can profoundly change your life I bet it
tastes I bet it tastes it i betta tasted this by giving it to some of the
coaching clients that I have and they're all having amazing results with it so I
thought I have to get some way to put this out on YouTube for you guys so
other than that I hope you guys enjoyed this video feel free to like this video

Is It Better to Be Late Than Never? - Duration: 4:48.
Everyone is anxiously awaiting to see
what ABC's new American Idol reboot is gonna look like.
I know I am, but apparently we're not the only ones kept waiting.
TMZ is reporting that singer and new judge Katy Perry
has been routinely showing up late to the audition round tapings.
Despite reportedly getting paid $25 million.
Now, while her other judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan don't seem to mind,
the producers are reportedly extremely frustrated with her.
Because the audition round tapings are so important.
They could end up making or breaking the show.
So ladies, do you think it's better to be late than never?
>> I just love this very beautiful,
well put together of women who's sitting in the audience like no, unacceptable.
I hear you. >> Let me tell you,
if I'm getting paid $25 million, I'm gonna be sleeping under the table.
>> [APPLAUSE] [CROSSTALK]
>> Ya'll need me.
>> This is real talk.
>> It could
be two o'clock in the morning you're like do you need me to
do something. >> Yes.
>> I'm showing up early,
I'm living on the set. >> We've experienced some artists
who have come on the show that kept us waiting for not just one hour, but
I think it was like three hours. >> This is damn Tam coming out right now
because that was a long wait. >> Yes it was and
my parents were in the army so you had to be punctual.
So my mom and dad passed that down to me.
I think it's disrespectful because you have to realize the workplace,
there are other people.
[APPLAUSE} >> Who have things to do, people to see,
kids to take care of.
So, it just pushes everything back, and I think it's rude,
it's inconsiderate, and it's selfish. >> What is she doing that
makes her late to her $25 million job?
That's what I'm trying to figure out. >> Okay, there is a reputation,
because I've been in the business for some time, there is a reputation with an aid.
And correct me if I'm wrong.
With musical artists that they tend to be, not a little late but
late a lot, and I don't know why. >> The music industry doesn't have like
a union the way that like television shows and TV and film has a union.
So, there really is no time for music.
In the music industry you could start a recording session
at 2 o'clock in the morning if you feel like it.
You can end it at 12 in the afternoon.
You can show up,
you can not show up, there's nobody there to actually keep you on schedule.
So it kind of is, you can do whatever you want.
>> [INAUDIBLE] Assistant or somebody,
go ahead- >> I was just gonna say in all fairness,
I believe she's been late 15 to 25 minutes, so it's not like hours, okay, so
I know it's still a job, I get it. >> I just want to clarify.
>> 25 million dollars, get a boot and
ejectable bed that's like boom, I'm tanked and ready to go, I get it.
But what I'm saying is I have, I'm gonna be real, a time management problem.
I don't know what it is but I always tend to run late and
I don't know how to leave on time and I'm working to get better.
And I'm setting like those phones can have like multiple alarms, if you're like get
out of the house, no bitch, leave now. >> [LAUGH]
>> I have those time of that way and
I'm working on it.
So, I'm trying but I just don't know.
I'm battling with this, cuz I can't sit up here and be like, you better not be late.
I'm that person. >> Just set your-
>> Here's my point, sorry.
My point is, I think if you do run late cuz you're not perfect,
there is a considerate way to go about it.
You need to call and give the heads up.
You do not lie, you do not come and just say, blame it on traffic.
You absolutely need to make the arrangement so that however you can make
it comfortable for the other person while you're still working on it.
To get them the information so they're not sitting there like what the heck.
>> I get that,
but I think it depends on how many times you're late.
>> Yes, of course.
>> So if you make being late a habit
that's still being rude to me. >> Yes.
>> So, this is what I would do,
just tell your manager or whoever to give you the call time,
maybe 30 or 45 minutes earlier.
That's what I do, you see what I am saying and then [CROSSTALK]
>> I am locking my phone now everything 30
minutes earlier.
But I think you and I are a lot alike in this sense.
We probably run late in our personal life, but
I don't play with my job. >> [LAUGH]
>> You can say whatever you want,
I'm late to everything else. >> But I'm never late to my job.
There's never somebody waiting here for me, like we're all
waiting cuz Adrian won't come down stairs. >> Time is money.
>> That's your job.
Guys, in one word, professionalism.
Just be professional. >> Yes.
>> That's in any job.

The communication error we all make, and how it intensifies conflict | Esther Perel - Duration: 5:05.
There are conversations that will intensify conflict or the potential thereof.
And there are conversations who will intensify understanding, potentially even resolution.
Conversations that are sure to polarize in which for everything you say I come back with
what I have to say, without ever taking into account what you just said.
You know what happens.
When people disagree they literally have the capacity to listen to ten seconds of what
the other side has to say.
Ten seconds – that's three sentences.
And by then they already are busy creating their rebuttal.
They are no longer listening.
They are just preparing their return, their retort.
When you have that kind of conversation here is what happens.
One is I am constantly just going to come back at you.
I am not integrating what I heard from you and it doesn't influence anything of what
I'm saying.
So basically you're saying the same thing over and over again and I'm saying the same
thing over and over again and those two never meet.
And the more I say X, the more I make you say Y.
It's like I'm going to – it's me who is reinforcing you saying the fundamental
thing with which you disagree with.
I come with expectations of what I think you think or may say or may want.
All relationships are colored with expectations about myself and about the other.
My expectations influence that which I then see or hear.
It is a filter as well as my mood is a filter.
We in communication have the ability to set the other people up because we will draw from
them the very things with which we expect from them even when it's the opposite of
what we really want.
We create the others in relationships and in communication.
It isn't just that's who they are and that's who we are.
That is one of the most important things to understand about relationships and communication
is how people actually co-create each other in the context of a relationship and why we
are not the same person with different people.
Because those people make part of who we are.
When we are in conflictual relationships we will often be prone to negative attributions
which is that when you speak to me a certain way it's because you have a bad temper or
you have a nasty personality.
When I speak to you in a certain way it's because I had a lot of traffic getting here
this morning and because I'm having a bad day.
You are a bad person, I have just bad circumstances.
I essentialize you and I contextualize me.
All of these things will intensify conflict.
It's the opposite that will create the potential for understanding.
Is my ability to take in what you say, to mull it over, to include it in my response
so that I make you feel that you matter, that what you say makes a difference, that it enters
me, that you're not just talking to the wind.
What is lacking is the ability to see that speaking is entirely dictated by the quality
of the listening that is reflected back on us.
If I'm talking to someone who is on their phone I will be expressing myself and experiencing
the communication completely different than if I am speaking to someone who is looking
at me in the eyes, who is shaking their head, who says to me I get it, I understand.
Not necessarily I agree.
So when you listen to me the first thing I need to know is that I have your attention.
The second thing I need to know is that maybe you can acknowledge the validity of my point
of view.
That doesn't mean you agree with my point of view but my point of view makes sense.
And potentially you may even empathize with my point of view.
You can understand why I would think or feel or experience things the way I do.
That reflecting back, acknowledging, validating, empathizing.
That sequence is where the depth of communication takes place.
Because ultimately if I speak to you and in the end I leave feeling even more alone I'm
literally in an existential crisis.
There is nothing worse than to be alone in the presence of another.

THEY FOUND IT … Comey Is Going Down & Guess Who Is Coming With Him … See You In Prison
Dirty Cop
The damning evidence just keeps coming against the Obama administration's corruption of
the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the nation's intelligence services that was
done solely for political purposes.
The weaponization of these agencies now appears to have been so egregious that little discernible
difference can be found between them and the East German Stasi.
The latest proof came as a result of the efforts of Judicial Watch, a private organization
that has been fighting in the courts for years using FOIA requests to get to the truth.
Think about that for a second.
The most massive intelligence network in the world and private citizens are forced to fund
an investigation to learn the truth.
Judicial Watch's latest request resulted in the release of 2800 files that were found
on a personal laptop belonging to the husband of a high-level advisor and confidant of Hillary
Clinton.
That advisor is Hillary's former Deputy Chief of Staff during the time that she served
as Secretary of State, Huma Abedin.
Abedin's husband also happens to be former Congressman Anthony Weiner and a convicted
sexual pervert who is serving time in a federal prison for his actions with an underage girl.
He would've been a prime target for extortion.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was grooming Weiner for much bigger things before the proverbial
shit hit the fan.
Think about that for a second, too.
Schumer wants to know everything about every Trump appointee dating back to the time they
spent in a cradle but he ignores incriminating evidence about fellow Democrats.
Better with which to compromise them, perhaps.
Judicial Watch's Chris Farrell weighed in with Fox News' Ed Henry on what they discovered
in these new emails that adds to the already overwhelming evidence against Hillary Clinton
as well as the FBI for its gross negligence in handling the investigation into her violations
of the Espionage Act:
"Well this is the twentieth production in this case.
This one is critical because it places classified information on the Weiner laptop.
Beyond any doubt, according to the State Department themselves, it proves that classified information
was forwarded in an unlawful way.
"It's a direct violation of Title 18 of the U.S. code Section 793 F, which is mishandling
national defense information.
I personally have investigated and prosecuted those cases as an army counter-intelligence
special agent.
I know that people have been jailed for a fraction, a tiny fraction, of what has now
been made public and documented through Judicial Watch's litigation and so this really cries
out for a legitimate investigation being done.
"Your earlier clip with Mr. Comey [FBI director] talking about intent is a fraud.
There's no requirement for proving intent under that particular citation I gave you
a moment ago.
The intent is irrelevant.
The fact that the loss or the mishandling of the national defense information occurred
– that's the crime.
When Henry asked about Abedin's defense that she had no clue she was breaking the
law when she sent those to her husband's laptop to store Farrell once again turned
to the law to dismiss the excuse as childish:
"It's irrelevant.
Let me tell you that no one in the armed forces, the intelligence community, or law enforcement,
no one listening to this program tonight who has ever had a security clearance would ever
buy that kind of phony excuse.
"Comey already manufactured his get out of jail free card for Hillary Clinton months
before she was even subject interviewed in July.
That's been documented as well.
"Frankly, these documents can form the foundation for an indictment of Comey and [Peter] Strzok,
the investigator who is at the center of this entire nightmare of a security problem."
When Henry brought up Strzok's name and asked whether our newfound knowledge of his
involvement in this case merits re-opening the investigation Farrell pounced:
"Absolutely, because on the second of July, when Mrs. Clinton was interviewed, she wasn't
even Mirandized.
You had federal agents who had reason to believe the person sitting in front of them had committed
a crime and through the lawyering of David Kendall, what should have been a subject interview
under oath of Mrs. Clinton turned into a coffee and donuts session.
"And, when she sat there and said she could not remember more than thirty some odd times
it doesn't pass the giggle test.
No one in their right mind would believe that.
"And, also when someone says that you pause the interview, you pull out her non-disclosure
agreement, you have her review it and refresh her recollection, and ask her how she doesn't
remember being briefed on this."
Henry then asked what do you say to the viewers who say Hillary lost the election lets move
on.
"It has nothing to do with the politics of losing an election.
What is does have to do with is violating national security law and putting top-secret
sensitive compartmented information at risk.
And, not just at risk but likely compromised to foreign intelligence agencies.
Not just the information itself but the sources and methods of collection.
"This is the gravest national security crime one can commit.
It's not an administrative oops.
This is a crime that borders on treason and it is punishable at that level."
We know that Abedin forwarded at least one of those emails to her husband's laptop
in November 2010 to the address "Anthony Campaign."
We also know from Comey's Congressional testimony that he believed Abedin regularly
forwarded emails to Weiner for him to print out so she could give them to Clinton.
Apparently there was no room in the State Department's 2010 fiscal year's $16 billion
budget for printers.
Hillary should've taken the plea deal Jeff Sessions offered her early in the Trump administration.
Failing that she should've put her tail between her legs and kept her mouth shut and
prayed Trump would turn his back on the past.
Instead, her arrogance led her to join Barack Obama in leading the resistance movement against
Trump.
For political reasons, this left Trump with very little in the way of options other than
to prove her guilt.
More significantly the latest document dump, when coupled with Comey's prior testimony
and his failure to follow any proper protocol in interviewing Clinton or any of her associates
under oath and accompanied by appropriate note-taking puts him front and center as an
accomplice in hiding Mrs. Clinton and her closest associates' treasonous actions.
Comey's July 2016 exoneration statement that he was conscious of tilting an election
was bullshit.
If that was the case why did he participate in then-President Obama's plot to tilt the
election to Hillary Clinton by starting a bogus investigation against Donald Trump without
even a scintilla of evidence to justify it?
Comey is going down.
Clinton is going down.
Whether Abedin and others surrounding Mrs. Clinton can be charged after Comey had already
given them immunity will be the subject of a future lawsuit.
Whether the case is made against Strzok that he acted unlawfully – yes his email suggested
that might be the case – is yet to be determined beyond a reasonable doubt.
As for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, he is walking a tightrope right now.
He has expanded his investigation into everything Trump while ignoring every criminal act committed
by Hillary and her closest associates.
Obama, his National Security Advisor Susan Rice, his CIA chief John Brennan, his Director
of National Security James Clapper, the current Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, FBI
Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and FBI legal counsel James Baker are foremost among others
who will soon be facing the wrath of our justice system.
A year and a half investigation into Trump has yielded nothing.
It is going to take more than that time to root out the extent of Hillary and Obama's
corruption.
The American people get it.
Fully 56% of the people now want a special counsel to investigate Mrs. Clinton and the
trail of corruption that she left in her wake.
It would appear that Trump has withstood the attack from the Deep State and now has the
political capital to begin prosecuting it.

How We Emasculate Men - And How To Stop Doing It!!! - Duration: 5:23.
hello and welcome welcome to she TV the place to become powerfully feminine from
the inside out I am Candice Oneida in today's video I'm
gonna talk to you about how and why do we emasculate men and more importantly
how to stop doing it
now here are just some of the ways that women emasculate men withholding sex
questioning them not letting them lead controlling them withdrawal being
critical being ungrateful punishing them with harsh words or verbal attacks
dominating them demeaning them not respecting them blaming them and
comparing them to others boy oh boy did I used to do this to men in the past now
all of those things above are the realm of what I call the false feminine the
maid in the princess but I'm going to talk to you about them in a totally of
different video so stay tuned to that we disempower men as if it's a zero-sum
game now what that means is we believe that if we give our true feminine more
time and energy that we'll lose something be less successful less
powerful less safe or less effective it is the beliefs that uphold that that is
why we unconsciously masculine men so what are these beliefs why do we do this
here are some of the reasons why we don't know how to get our needs met so
we take control criticize demean and blame why do we do this we're afraid of
letting go and trusting he's masculine to lead to take care of us to provide
and protect when we feel fear we lash out and blame someone outside of
ourselves often those closest to us we believe that is only from our masculine
that we can be successful effective or powerful we're afraid of our own force
our power even our darkness our own intensity we believe we'll be dominated
or taken advantage of we believe that we won't be
loved if we aren't superwoman and so many other reasons
well these beliefs are altogether erroneous we've adopted these beliefs
and taken them on to be our own we can however be more powerful effective and
successful from our feminine and we actually get a whole real deep desires
and needs met when we learn how to be more feminine so how do you change this
how do you stop emasculating men essentially it's about a relearning of
feminine things ways of being ways of acting and doing it's about bringing the
masculine and feminine into harmony inside of yourself as well as in an
harmonious relationship between yourself and others it's about an embodiment of
the feminine arts skills and magic because when we do that it totally
changes the dynamics it totally changes the playing field
it's an emergence into your queen your true feminine power it's a learning of
feminine arts and skills it's an embracement of feminine
community sisterhood and mentorship it comes with identifying your needs and
desires learning how to speak them and then how to receive them and it has to
be about an embodied version of the feminine otherwise the transformation
doesn't happen otherwise you're going to continue to emasculate men it is through
the embodiment of the feminine that you experientially plug into your power you
experientially recognize and remember the innate power these held in your body
and that you don't have to keep fighting you don't have to keep defending and you
can actually let go and have faith that the masculine will provide for you the
masculine of the divine or a man you allow him he's beautiful powerful
providing supportive masculine to come toward you and to be received into your
feminine be so let's all here today make a decision
to stop emasculating men it doesn't have to continue down this track as you learn
to embrace embody and love your own feminine body in power you will realize
that you didn't need to do that all along and you certainly don't need to be
continuing to do that moving forwards if you liked the video today give me a
thumbs up if you haven't subscribed I suggest you subscribe over here I put
new videos up every single Sunday what I'd love you to show today is any other
ways that you recognize in yourself that you emasculate men and remember when you
have the courage to go out there and shine you give others permission to do
the same so let's all go out there in shine this week bye bye for now

If you have never peed in the shower, you probably must find this idea odd or disgusting.
But this practice is more common than Imagine: a poll by the magazine

Whatever your opinion of this habit, you probably did not think the simple

See 3 good reasons why pee in the shower may not be a bad idea:

water, every time we use it?
If we consider that, on average, a person urine 7 times a day and multiply by
the entire US population, we are talking about of billions of liters of water
every day just for that purpose.
Bathing also consumes enough water, so we urinate while we are under the
shower turns out to be a great way to save water.
To avoid bad smell, pee the near the drain and leave the water with soap

How Powerful Is Bangladesh? | NowThis World - Duration: 5:06.
When it comes to the news cycle out of South Asia, Bangladesh is often overshadowed by
its larger, nuclear-armed neighbors, India and Pakistan.
But as the country deals with an unprecedented influx of about a million Rohingya refugees
from Myanmar, Bangladesh's presence on the world stage has taken on a new urgency—as
it is shoulders these important diplomatic and humanitarian tests.
Hi, I'm Judah ,this is NowThis World and we wanted to know just how powerful is the
People's Republic of Bangladesh?
Bangladesh is a over 57,000 square miles in size, making it just the 95th largest country
by area, or just slightly larger than the American states, of New Jersey and Pennsylvania
combined.
The country is home to a population of about 159 million people—making the densely populated
country the eighth most populous country on Earth.
Bangladesh had a GDP per capita of only $1,358 in 2016, according to the World Bank.
But the nation has seen a few years of economic growth -- in 2017, it grew by 7.2%, according
to the Asian Development Bank.
Additionally, a recent report by the World Bank says that the country has experienced
an impressive decline in poverty, especially in rural areas.
But despite its improving economic performance over the last few years, Bangladesh has experienced
its share of political woes.
It's perceived to be one of the most corrupt countries according to transparency international,
a global organization that ranks corruption perception.
Bangladesh is a parliamentary republic, with a non-executive president.
It's legistor, the Jatiya Sangsad, has 300 directly elected members who serve five year
terms, and 50 seats are reserved specifically for women.
While the country's laws enshrine secularism, its courts have maintained that Islam is Bangladesh's
state religion.
About 89 percent of Bangladeshis practice the Islamic faith.
One of Bangladesh's most pressing issues has to do with the recent influx of refugees.
Almost 700,000 Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar since August 2017 to escape what the
UN is calling ethnic cleansing.
It is estimated that Bangladesh is hosting nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees due to
previous waves of violence.
The country now hosts more Rohingya than Myanmar.
This influx of people has had political, economic, and social impacts on Bangladesh.
But Bangeldeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina says her nation is willing to do what it takes
to care for the refugees.
"Well, yes, Bangladesh is not a rich country, it is true.
We have a 160 million people in a small geographical land.
But if we can feed 160 million people, another 500 or 700,000 people we can do it.
We can share our food, we are ready to do it, and our people are already doing it."
Despite international relief aid flowing into the country, it hasn't been enough to cover
the full costs of the refugee crisis -- leaving it up to Bangladesh to pay for the rest.
But what about its relations with other countries in the region?
When it comes to its largest neighbor that surrounds most of the nation, India, relations
seem to be improving.
Some say that this could be an effect of the Indian Government's recent policy to focus
on China's growing influence in the region.
This competition between China and India, has benefited Bangladesh in some ways -- including
its stock exchange.
BUT relations with Pakistan, another regional power, aren't as friendly.
Bangladesh, which was formerly known as East Pakistan, gained independence from Pakistan
in 1971 after a brutal war.
While a rocky agreement has held the peace between the two countries, relations have
been tense to say the least.
With two massive, nuclear-armed countries in its immediate vicinity, Bangladesh has
also recently begun a drive to modernize and bulk-up its military capabilities.
Under the plan "Forces Goal 2030," Bangladesh has already purchased a number of helicopters,
unmanned aircrafts, and anti-missile aircrafts.
It's ultimate goal?
To have an Army, Navy, and Airforce capable of conducting warfare by 2030.
According to global military ranking site Global Firepower, Bangladesh's military
strength currently ranks 57th out of 133 countries around the world.
Bangladesh has a variety of political and social challenges to overcome, whose solutions
may very well help determine how much more powerful the country could become over the
next few years.
As they continue to grow economically, pull its people out of poverty, and bolster its
military and international standing, it just might position itself as a third player in
South Asia's largely two-country show.
But we'll just have to wait and see.
Only time will tell whether Bangladesh's economy will continue to grow, as well as its political
influence in the region.
But what are some other nations you'd like us to examine next?
Let me know in the comments below!

Sea of Thieves Is Dead on Arrival - Online Games Are in Serious Trouble - Duration: 17:27.
A few days ago, I released my Sea of Thieves review, which is a game I had a lot of fun
with and enjoyed quite a lot.
However, what I noticed from everyone's feedback is how polarizing the game is.
Some love it, and some hate it.
Whether it is a lack of content, repetition, lack of endgame, no character progression,
or even that is just no fun—people have a lot of issues with this game.
The problem is, Sea of Thieves is not the first, and certainly won't be the last,
game that suffers from these issues, which leaves a bad taste in many gamers' mouths.
Games like Destiny, The Division, GTA 5 with GTA Online, and Battlefront 2 have paved the
way for Sea of Thieves.
Each of these games focuses on the "games as a service" model, and through doing so,
may have already dug their own graves.
Is Sea of Thieves truly dead on arrival, and why did Star Wars: Battlefront 2 make gamers
so angry in 2017?
Today, we're going to talk about it.
To understand why Sea of Thieves was made the way it is, we must go back and examine
the release and life of Destiny.
While we could go back further, Destiny set the stage for online games as they are today.
When Bungie, the creators and developers of the acclaimed Halo series paired up with Activision
to do something new, gamers knew something big was going on.
The announcement and subsequent alpha and beta test for what we now know as Destiny
only served to ignite the flames of hype surrounding the game.
The shooting and traversal mechanics were nearly perfect, the world was beautiful and
seemed full of character and things to do, and the story and plot were intriguing.
Destiny may have been one of the most hyped up games in the last decade on similar levels
with No Man's Sky, but when the game released to lukewarm reviews, long-time Bungie fans
and people who played the beta were shocked.
Destiny was praised for its incredible combat, beautiful graphics and world design, and having
an addictive gear grind aimed to keep you getting better equipment and eventually the
best gear possible.
However, what it lacked was something that would damage the game long-term and would
require Bungie to release multiple expansions to finally fix.
The game's story was bland and uninspired; after completing the main storyline and grinding
for most of the gear, Destiny became a repetitive routine of completing one or two weekly events,
grinding the same few strikes and waiting 15+ minutes for an event to spawn in the world
which only has a small percentage of dropping the items you need.
So how did Destiny maintain a large player count even when most people had completed
nearly all there was to do?
That is where the promise of future content comes in.
Before Destiny even launched, you could buy the expansion pass, which would give you access
to the first two expansions the game would offer.
Knowing that there is more content coming, even if it is not currently accessible, is
something that motivates players to continue playing so that they can be as ready for that
new content as possible.
It took Destiny three expansions to be able to fix most of the game's issues, and by that
time they had lost a lot of their players.
The game lived on because of the promise of more content to come, and that content did
eventually fix the game.
However, is that something we, as gamers, want to allow developers to do?
Is it acceptable if developers release games with a lackluster amount of content, just
enough to get us by until they release their next update?
If you bought everything upon release, Destiny would have cost you nearly $100 by the time
the Taken King expansion came out and solved a lot of the game's issues.
Or, you could wait a year or more and get the self-branded "Complete Edition," which
implies the game's original release was not complete.
This is the kind of business model publishers and developers are aiming to go with when
they talk about "games as a service" and why online and social-focused games like Sea
of Thieves may be in serious danger.
Destiny was not the only game to release with similar structure and thus similar issues.
The Division was released with a very similar "online shared world" experience, a loot
grind, and a lack of end game.
While you could go to the Dark Zone, a place where PvP is allowed, and try to grind for
better gear, it was full of hackers and high-level players who just wanted to ruin your day.
Again, this game lost many of its players.
Nearly two years later, the game has finally been fixed tremendously and is seeing an influx
of players once more.
But the game wasn't in its proper state for TWO YEARS.
Destiny 2 released last year with a lot of improvements upon the first iteration, but
still having a season pass before the games release and offering much more egregious micro-transactions.
The shaders in Destiny 2, which allow you to color your gear, were made to be a one-time
use consumable.
Unlike the first game where you could change them out infinitely, once you use a shader,
it is gone.
The only way to get the shaders you want is to grind for them again or purchase them with
real money and get a randomized engram that may not even have the specific shader you
want.
Then, of course, you have the Battlefront 2 fiasco, where it was much easier to buy
items and characters in the game than it was to actually play to earn them.
There was a point where Dice had the micro-transactions set up to where it would take 4,528 hours
or $2100 to unlock all the base content.
Everything was loot box based; thus, everything you bought would be randomized.
All of these games that we have talked about cost $60 for the initial purchase, $10-20
per expansion, plus the cost of optional micro-transactions.
All of this is to say that these developers and publishers are designing games in such
a way that allows them to make as much money as possible.
Again, is this something we should accept?
Do we want to send the message to developers who are milking us for all we have that we
are okay with spending more money to complete the game that we already bought?
Take Two said that they want all of their future games to feature "recurrent consumer
spending opportunities."
And EA has said, even after they lost out on sales and goodwill for Battlefront 2's
problems, that, "live services that include optional digital monetization, when done right,
provide a very important element of choice that can extend and enhance the experience
in our games."
So even though most gamers speak out against them and feel they are causing developers
to provide less content for the buy-in price in leu of making money from recurrent spending,
publishers are still adamant about their place in games.
Why?
Because they make an insane amount of money.
Out of EA's 1.23 billion dollar revenue in their last quarter, 787 million of it was
from live services with only 260 million being from game sales—Over triple the profit on
things bought after the original purchase of a game.
This is why it seems so many games are going down this route—it may make many gamers
less happy, but it makes companies significantly more money in the long run.
And for businesses, money talks.
Enter Sea of Thieves.
Microsoft and Rare (the developers of Sea of Thieves) obviously saw the massive monetary
success of the previous titles mentioned, as well as what was seemingly lacking or could
be changed for the better; thus, Sea of Thieves was born.
And let's be honest, the premise of Sea of Thieves is unique.
Go alone or gather your friends up to explore an open world as a pirate, find buried treasure,
take over islands haunted by the dead, and team up with other players in the same world
that can do the same things that you can: fight, loot, and cause mayhem.
In theory, Sea of Thieves should be a game that everyone who has ever had even a remote
interest in the pirate life should want to play for hours on end.
So why has it been so polarizing, with many people playing for hours with their friends
and others bashing the game with only a few hours clocked in?
Where did Rare potentially go wrong, and what did they do right that most people aren't
getting to see?
There are quite a few complaints about the game that are well-founded.
People have said that there are not enough enemy variation (of which there are under
ten in any form), the quests are repetitive, the game gets boring after a few hours, it
is not fun in single-player, there is no real progression, you can only buy cosmetic items
and no upgrades or variations on already owned items, the world feels empty and meaningless,
and the game isn't worth it's $60 price tag, to name a few.
Do some of these issues sound familiar?
Many of them are the same things that plagued the likes of Destiny and the Division upon
release.
What is more intriguing about Sea of Thieves though is that the game is centered on being
more like an MMO than those other titles and does not offer the purchase of a season pass.
So what is the hook (pun intended) that will keep people playing, and what do people who
purchase this game have to look forward to?
Are all these complaints reasonable, or are they founded because of over-hype and expectations
that were beyond what the game planned to offer in the first place?
Rare has seemingly done all they can to set expectations as to what Sea of Thieves is
about and will contain.
There were multiple betas which everyone could play in, tons of trailers and videos from
the developers about the game, and as many people writing reviews and previews of the
betas and builds they saw as was possible.
Rare made it clear that what was in the final beta was basically how the game was, but that
full release would have more content.
Everything about this was true.
There were more trading companies, more quest types, more things to buy, and more places
to go.
However, the motivation and purpose for playing this game has never been too clear.
This is the biggest flaw in the marketing of Sea of Thieves and why so many people feel
disappointed.
Rather than a deep and complex dive into the world of pirates, with character progression,
tons of weapon types and enemies to fight, a compelling story full of pirate lore, and
a huge variety of land masses, shipwrecks, and dungeons, players of Sea of Thieves were
greeted with zany cartoon graphics, simplistic combat, mainly cosmetic upgrades, and relatively
similar islands and other areas.
As I noted earlier, there is also no season pass or slated expansions in the works, and
while we have heard from the developers about some additional content coming to the game,
Sea of Thieves' future is uncertain.
So what was Rare thinking, or are we just missing something critical about the game's
design?
As I mentioned in my review, playing Sea of Thieves alone is something entirely plausible,
but is not nearly as enjoyable as playing with a crew.
It is also true that I have had a ton of fun playing with others and being obnoxious and
silly.
I have made some memories that I will remember for years to come I couldn't have made anywhere
else.
The reason for this is that Sea of Thieves is a game focused more on being a social hub
to have fun, hanging out with your friends as pirates, messing around with other people,
and having some laughs while sailing the open seas and collecting that coveted pirate booty.
It's the reason each character has an instrument to play, the actual character models look
so silly, and why the graphics and art style were designed the way they were.
The game is about having fun, interacting with other people, and doing some light pirate
role-playing while you're at it.
In earnest, it's an experiment that is one of the first of its kind from a first-party
publisher, and also a game that entirely fails to market itself as such.
Gamers are conditioned to look at the content of a game, search out the story, progression,
depth and complexity, and what the game tells you to do to determine its value and if it
is worth it.
Sea of Thieves's value is not so tangible, and thus is entirely skipped over in search
of where the traditional content is.
Sea of Thieves was never meant to have RPG mechanics like character leveling, upgradeable
weapons, huge diversity in quest types, or a compelling story.
The content in the game is simply there to compel you and your crew to create your own
story and serve as a catalyst to get you exploring and encountering other players.
The appeal of the game comes in seeing your friends fire themselves out of canons, falling
off of the ship into the water while you are sailing at full speed screaming as they plummet
into the depths, desperately trying to empty the water out of your ship as it begins to
capsize, and the amazing feeling of fending off multiple ships and killing their inhabitants,
leaving all their loot for you.
While these are all just moments, each of these and the hundreds more like them are
all centered around the fun and silly social interactions this game is focused on.
Drink too much and you can fill a bucket with your vomit and throw it on your crew.
Someone making you angry on your crew?
Lock them in the brig.
Sea of Thieves is a game made with social encounters, humorous moments, and making memories
with friends and strangers in mind.
With all that said, we come back to the reason that the game so polarizing.
Sea of Thieves has brought to light something we, as gamers, as well as game publishers
and developers, need to work together to address.
For decades, games have been able to be placed in certain genres, and within those genres,
we all allowed a certain amount of leeway with the amount of deviation from what defines
games in that genre.
In the last couple of years, games have begun to take aspects of multiple different genres
and mash them all together, leaving them in a weird gray area between genres.
When someone asks you what type of game Destiny is, and you say a first-person shooter RPG-lite
shared world game, no one knows what that means or looks like.
To quote part of IGN's review of Destiny, "The endgame might hook you for the long
haul once you fully understand it, but Destiny is ultimately unable to be all the different
games it's trying so hard to be."
You shouldn't have to learn to understand what a game wants from you to play it.
This is Sea of Thieves biggest fault, and it is one we have never truly seen before.
Sea of Thieves doesn't know what it really is, and because it is a new type of game with
a relatively novel motivation for playing, it doesn't know how to market itself and
how to describe itself to potential players.
Sea of Thieves wants you to play it continuously and wants to be an online "games as a service"
for years to come, but its value proposition and reasoning for spending more money and
time with the game is not clear to most consumers.
Online games as a service are the future of gaming.
Whether we like it or not, when this much money is made and revenue from game sales
is tripled by purchases in live services, companies would be stupid not to chase the
dollar signs.
However, the problem that the gaming industry is facing right now is how to balance how
much content needs to be in the game at launch, how much content to trickle out, how long
to wait between drops, and how to explain to potential buyers what online and live services
mean for their game.
For years, we've paid $60 to have all the content on the disc and maybe paid for an
expansion or DLC that was substantial at some point after launch.
Now, games like Destiny, The Division, Sea of Thieves, and Battlefront 2 are launched
with a "base" version of the game, with a content plan set up for the next couple
years.
This means rather than getting everything into the game for launch, companies are picking
and choosing what to leave out and add later post-launch.
Most of the time, the audience is left in the dark until these pieces of content are
close to launching and don't know what is coming or how much more there will be.
While they wait, they play a game that offers them much less than another, more fully-fleshed
out title would, or they get sucked into an addictive loot grind specifically made to
keep you playing and buying.
While, in theory, there is nothing inherently wrong with this approach if it is done right,
it seems many mainstream games that are adopted to the games as a service model are treated
just like regular buy-and-get-a-complete-package games.
You simply cannot market Sea of Thieves in the same way you can market God of War or
Horizon: Zero Dawn.
If you are going to make a game that is focused on social encounters instead of more complex
and diverse content, that is something that needs to be made known to players.
If we have the expectation that we are just getting a "starter edition" with many
free and paid updates coming in the future, then backlash like Sea of Thieves has experienced
won't be seen as frequently.
Many gamers, through no real fault of their own, expected Sea of Thieves to have tons
of different content and quests to do, locales of all shapes, designs, and sizes, and multitudes
of ships, weapons, and equipment.
How were they to know this wouldn't be the case if no one ever explained the real point
of the game?
If the future of games is one where single-player, mostly complete packages are sold along games
that have continuous updates, live services, and micro-transactions built into the core
foundation, we need to develop a better way of informing buyers of what kind of game they
are purchasing.
We also need to develop a more transparent pricing model, where people can know that
for $60, they are buying a game that will force them to pay additional money down the
road to experience all of the planned content.
Many people had no idea that Sea of Thieves was built with a games as a service model,
and for $60 they want to be able to jump in and have tons of content.
When you can spend $60 on a game that you can play for 250 hours and still have things
to do, why would consumers buy a game that seems like it has no real variety and is very
bare boned instead? Online games are having an identity crisis, and games like Sea of
Thieves, Destiny, The Division, and Battlefront 2 are all suffering from it.
Sea of Thieves has some great things going for it, but its lack of proper identity and
messaging, seemingly barebones traditional content, no real accommodation for single-player
gameplay, and the motivation and purpose for playing going unarticulated, have caused the
game to lose its legs before it had the chance to properly earn them.
Unfortunately, Sea of Thieves also won't be the last game to shoot itself in the foot,
and with games like Anthem coming, which is claimed to be a live service model while also
being claimed to be Bioware's last shot, the future of online games and their developers
may be in serious trouble.

TUDO É SOBRE ELE (IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM) - ENGLISH CAPTION - Duration: 9:30.
To Him be Glooory! To Him be Gloooooory! To Him be Glooory! Forever Amen!!!
Hello good afternoon. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
I was meditating today and imagining: Easter is coming... and I was thinking about what it means.
In that moment when Jesus Christ, on the cross... He cried out. He cried, almost without force. He said: It is finished, it is paid.
How much that means to us! How much that means to us!
The prize we deserve in this life is death, because it is written that the price of sin is death. And Jesus Christ delivered us from that death, because He died for us all.
I'll start today by telling you a story from the past... the story of Samson.
Many of you may know. It is in the book of Judges, but I do not think you heard the way I'm going to tell it here now.
Samson's mother was barren, and she received a visit from an angel of God... and that angel said:
"- You will give birth to a child and he will be a Nazarite, consecrated to the Lord Jesus Christ... to the Lord God."
And then the angel told her that she would have a son and he would deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines.
She came and told her husband... and her husband, with all the authority of a husband, said: "- If he spoke to you, he will talk to me as well".
And then, when the angel appeared, she went to call her husband and he came and stood in front of the angel and .... pay attention to his question, see the question he asked!
"- WHEN THE BOY IS BORN, HOW SHOULD WE RAISE HIM?"
Why did he ask this?
Because when someone is consecrated to the Lord, when someone serves the Lord, it is not the things from the earth that will raise us, no, nor could they!
It is the things from the Heaven.
It's by the Spirit of God that we should be raised, that we should be led.
The instructions must come from the Lord... the direction must come from the Lord.
And Samson ... there was a time when Samson deviated from his purposes, because everything is about the purposes of God.
What happened when he went astray?
He became blind and walking in circles. In the mill, walking in circles.
This is how we stand when we stray from the Lord's purposes: blind and walking in circles.
But true repentance causes us to overturn pillars and overcome all enemy barriers in our lives.
because this God who died for us, who came to Earth, died for us, died to save us, He is merciful and He is faithful.
Now let me tell you one more story. It's in Genesis.
Judah had the first child. Er was his name. He married a woman at that time and he passed away. In fact, God killed him because he displeased a lot the Lord God.
As the custom of the time was that the wife of the deceased brother should marry the next elder brother.
So ... and then it became law ... this custom, after the laws that were given to Moses.
Anyway... the second son, Onan, was to lie down with his brother's wife
to impregnate her and so, to be able to raise up seed to his brother, Er, who was killed by God, because he displeased the Lord.
Imagine how much he displeased the Lord, so that the Lord take his life!
Well... The Word says that when Onan went in to her, he spilled his seed on the ground.
He had sexual relations with her and then he ejaculated outside her, so as not to impregnate her, so as not to give the descendant to ER.
So it displeased the Lord, and the Lord also kill him.
What do we learn from this? The older brother... the wife of the older brother.
If we bring to the present day and analyze spiritually... our oldest brother is Jesus Christ, is not it true?
The spouse of Jesus Christ, the bride, is the holy Church of Jesus Christ.
What are they doing there on those altars?
Many pastors, many churches, they are only "lying" with the wife of Jesus Christ, with the church, the church of Jesus Christ ...
but for pleasure, not for the intimacy of husband and wife.
People are lying with prostitutes, not the true Church of Jesus.
They lie down but cannot conceive children, just as Onan did when he ejaculated on the ground, because it was only for pleasure.
That's what is happening in the pulpits nowadays, in many of them. The churches are only wanting pleasure with the people, and are generating what? Idolaters.
Idolaters of pastors, idolaters of worship bands, idolaters who pay for pastors, for these musicians to go in their churches to sing or preach.
They are generating people who idolize Easter bunny, who continue to buy Easter eggs and also receiving, and they call themselves Christians
and publish all this on their social networks with joy.
What feed them are the things from the world, not the things from God. And the churches do not say anything. They do not say anything, because they behave like Onan.
Pastors are behaving like Onan. But where is the Holy Church?
Onan paid a very high price because Jesus Christ, He came from the offspring of Judah. And Onan, doing this, was delaying the plans, the purposes of God.
And nobody leaves alive. No one leaves alive.
For the price of sin is death. For the price of sin is death.
THE PRICE OF SIN IS DEATH.
But then, Lord, are we all to die? For there is not a righteous man at all!
Thus saith Jesus Christ, through Paul. There is no one righteous. There is not even one.
Jesus died on that cross for us. With a loud sigh He said, He cried: It is finished! It's paid.
He paid the price for us.
It was Jesus Christ who died, the Lamb! And not the rabbit.
Remember this at this Easter. The Lamb. He died for us, to save us, to set us free.
You guys! Think about it, today.
Before celebrating a rabbit, eating chocolates (easter eggs), get drunk... in a weekend that represents, as every day should, the death of Jesus Christ
because the whole Gospel is based on that death of Jesus Christ
in the propitiation, the redemption, the mercy, the resurrection of Jesus
and in His future coming with all His Glory, to rescue those who doesn't even care about Easter eggs
who doesn't even care about Santa Claus, who doesn't even care about the world.
But the truth is one ... sometimes you do it without realizing it ... but the truth is just one
the things of the world please you more, feed you more than the things of Heaven
because you know that this is not correct, but it draws you to the point where you prefer to be blind and to walk in circles, not actually receiving Jesus.
You never received Jesus.
RECEIVE HIM!!!
and you will see that the food of the Heaven is far more powerful than the food of the Earth.
Feed your spirit. Think about it and stay with God.
May the peace of Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
