music through brass band has changed our lives raised our self-esteem and added value
to us. The trombone is best because I can play it better than anyone
I've learned lots of things just from playing in the big band self confidence
leadership skills. I really taught them many things like learning how to be
leaders some of them are in my teaching that when I used to conduct teachings I
used to get one person to represent others in doing something.
Brass for Africa has given me a platform to inspire motivate and give back to kids and give
them hope and a dream and power and self-confidence and resilience and the
belief that they can do something
one plus one equals two, two plus two equals four
when I was approved to be one of the team for Brass for Africa teachers I said okay I can support other children and I can
motivate them because they will see me in the way that I don't have hands but I
can still teach them using my head. When the teachers who teaches us band when they
come I feel good because because I want to learn.
Brass for Africa has given an opportunity to people at Good Shepherd home to play music and now if you see most of
them that are attending that music, it is helping them to stay focused
When Brass for Africa came in with the music it brought about teamwork the children
learned to share because for them to produce music and and rhythm they
have to work together through a team as they blow the machines they are able to
produce a meaningful sound and this promotes the skill of working together
and they are able to recognize that they cannot
be on their own they need to relate with one another
music truly it helps the children
to be able to express themselves and through expression they they are able to
build confidence they find confidence in themselves

If you have YouTube videos in your playlist
you can play them as long as the video is visible.
Once you close the full player, leave the app, or lock your phone

If you close the player while it's playing you get a mini player
that sits on top of almost everything else in the app.
Tap the mini player to get back to the full player
or swipe left and tap the X to close it completely
To access chord charts and other rehearsal documents
go into the file section where you'll see files for each item in the service.
Then just tap on your file and you're ready to rehearse.
The Order of Service shows you everything happening in the service
and lets you select any item to see its details.
Your leader might a description or details about the song.
Files are also available once you switch to the Files tab.
Finally, from the Times tab
you can see any rehearsals or call times you need to be aware of.

Envelope.
The word envelope is one that pops up a whole lot in sound design
and can be challenging to visualize.
Think of the word envelope in its noun form.
It's what you put a letter inside of to send away in the mail.
It's a thing that is, but since music is a thing that is happening, or happens,
it's more useful to think of the word in its verb form--
to envelop.
The definition of envelop is to completely enclose or surround,
which is exactly what an envelope does.
A paper envelope encloses a letter and, very much in the same way,
the envelopes on a synthesizer or [INAUDIBLE] take an audio signal
and wrap themselves around it, shaping and carving the sound from the moment
it begins until it ends.
Similar to how a filter shapes the timbre of a sound,
an envelope shapes the evolution of a sound.
The most common envelope you'll see is an amp envelope,
which shapes amplitude over time.
But there are many other possibilities.
Another common use of an envelope is to wrap itself
around a sound's brightness.

Today I want to share and spread a belief I have.
ASL and music can work together.
I know there may be some people watching this video like,
WHAT DEAF PEOPLE CANT HEAR MUSIC?!? I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!
You are right, honestly, most of the time hear music. I try to listen.
And it's awkward, really awkward.
The world is really audio centric.
Sometimes I can "listen" if the music is raised up really loud with big vibrations.
I have a love/hate relationship with music.
But I notice music is really empowering.
Interpreting pulls and analyzes meanings, words, and movements.
All mixed into signs and facial expressions to express a narrative.
It's impactful. wow
ASL is an amazing language, it's beautiful, 3- dimensional, and it depends on visuals like art.
Connecting music and ASL helps with exposure for the Deaf community.
You can really see how music impacts hearing people so much.
My dream is that in the future music will encourage and motivate
hearing people to pay attention, learn, and accept Deaf people and our culture.
I want, I crave to enjoy music too.
