yeah it's been seven weeks of making music it's been pretty awesome you know
& the response from you lot has been amazing you know what I mean I just want to
say thank you to all you guys man what I've done is started to make
preparations to move things up a gear on the channel it's way too early for this
shit and it's not even early so I went to a friend of mine who runs a recording
services and a label I went to his place and sat down talked with him and saw if
we could work you know because in this journey you know it's all about trust
and being able to work with people that you know are decent and are passionate
about what they do and will do what they say they will do & being comfortable in
the environment you're in is a big thing as well so I went down to my boys you
know & we sat down and we discussed like the day bef... a couple days before then I
went down for like a writing session & that just to basically see how we would
best be able to work together you got any advice for me before I start after

once you've done something then I can see where we're at and give you advice and that

After the first session we discovered the you know what there's a particular way that
would be better that we kind of work Jimmy Being the guy that he is understands music on a deeper
level and said a few things to me and as we kind of got more and more into the

out okay this is how we're gonna work you know and that's how we're gonna do
things so I thought you know what let me go home get everything in order get all
my lyrics written out get everything in order then go back there and then we
build the song you know I mean and layer it and all those things it was a really
good day to be honest errrm... so much I learned yeah basically we'd already recorded but
we wanted to get footage for the video so we're gonna act as if... (laughter) as real as it gets
we're gonna act as if we recorded it again and film it so yeah it's been
(Jimmi) set up shit (LeeToTheVI) setting up shots & that...

it's been mad it's been fucking successful I can't I can't lie from right in the writing
process writing process was pretty fucking dope it just came off naturally

But she doesn't know how to sneak around. Which is kind of important

When illy was younger, he'd come home after work and scoop her up in his arms

But all the arms dealer had was the kind of arms you want to take in to battle.
So illy's mom bought those instead.
The next week, the war was over, due largely in part to illy's mom.
This was bad news for illy and her family because illy's father was now unemployed.
illy got a paper route.
she was resourceful.
even though she didn't have arms.
everyone said, "HEY LLLY!"
and she'd sing, "That's not my name, that's not my name that's not my name"
After illy got home from work everyday, she would go to school.
She was resourceful there too.
On the first day of class, she went up to the teacher
and declared in a loud voice, "MY NAME IS iLLY"
Her teacher asked her to sit down.
When role call happened, the teacher said illy's name right because she could read the words illy said.
it was quite a talent.
the teacher had five talents. and chose not to burry them.
when the headmaster came around, the teacher said,
Look! I used to have 5 talents, but now I have 10!!!
So the teacher was promoted, illy's school friends called her illy, illy's mom became a war hero, and illy's dad because a CEO of a very successful company.
they all lived happily ever after and never died. Because illy is a flashlight.

"What is Temporary Music & 'Temp Love?'" | #AskMeAnything - Duration: 4:39.
the next question is what is temporary music and what is temp love okay let me
explain something when a movie is being edited and you're not hired yet as a
composer the film editor wants to have some music to cut the film against so he
will pick pieces of music that he likes and he starts editing the film by the
time you come in as a composer there is technically already a score which is not
yours but it's music that sits there for the time being just to give the film
some shape and to make it a more pleasurable experience to to watch and
this is called temporary music now temp love which is falling in love with the
temporary music happens when a picture editor and the director are working on a
certain section of the film let's say for a couple of months and they're
constantly listening to that same piece of music that is there they fall in love
with that piece of music they fall in love with how the music works with the
picture so if you as a composer come with a completely different approach to
that scene that might sometimes be a problem where they say but can't you do
something a little more closer to what was there because we loved it so much
and that is what temp love is called every composer in town has dealt with it
it's it's a it's a it's a standard phenomenon and it's very understandable
that's why in my case it's so important to or start on a movie where there's no
music yet or make already music for a movie that you haven't even seen so that
when the picture editor starts editing the film he already has some music from
you so he starts to understand and the director what the tone is of the of the
of the film and another thing that you can do is quickly try to replace scenes
that have like in it that already feels very
important to the director so that means that if you start on that scene first
you have the longest time to work on it if you start on that scene at the last
moment then that might really become a problem to get to the finish line so
usually I try to tackle scenes that have a very important piece of music in it
and usually this is a piece of music that I already did myself because the
music editors that I work with when they make that temporary score they usually
use music from the movies that I have done to cover the film instead of music
from other composers now other composers sometimes have different preferences
there are composers that say I don't want to hear the temporary music there
are also composers that say if you make a temporary music track only use music
from other composers don't use my music so every composer has a different
preference every music editor has a different preference preference I also
like to point out that it is a special profession in town that music editors
that do the temporary music are usually separate music editors that the music
editors that work with a composer so usually these are two separated jobs but
temporary music is very important to get structure to the film right at the
beginning but it's so much better if there's already music in there that is
yours that you written originally for the film but unfortunately not every
composer has a chance to do that because of timing scheduling whether you already
feel inspired to write something for the film sometimes you feel inspired when
you see the film sometimes you're not inspired yet by the script so there are
many different parameters that we are in play whether you actually are able to
make music that early for a film but let's now go back to one more example of
Mad Max when I saw Mad Max there were two or three small pieces of music in
the whole film and the rest was just empty so I have completely free range to
completely come up with ideas for that film
without being distracted with what was being used in in attempt score so I hope
