Nain Singh Rawat Google Doodle - Duration: 1:39.
The Search Engine Google is showing this Doodle in India for Nain Singh Rawat's 187th birthday
Nain Singh Rawat was one of the first of the late 19th century Indian explorers who explored
the Himalayas for the British.
He hailed from the Johar Valley of Kumaon.
He mapped the trade route through Nepal to Tibet, determined for the first time the location
and altitude of Lhasa, and mapped a large section of the Brahmaputra River.
For much of the 19th century, Europe played the Great Game.
Explorers vied with each other to map the geographical vastness of Central Asia and
understand its people and customs.
Knowledge was essential to political success, but Europeans were not welcome everywhere.
A thirst for knowledge and the need for secrecy led to the creation of pandits, a select group
of highly educated and brave local men trained in geographical exploration.
Prominent among these was Nain Singh Rawat, the first man to survey Tibet.
Disguised as a Tibetan monk, he walked from his home region of Kumaon to places as far
as Kathmandu, Lhasa, and Tawang.
He maintained a precisely measured pace, covering one mile in 2000 steps, and measured those
steps using a rosary.
He hid a compass in his prayer wheel and mercury in cowrie shells and even disguised travel
records as prayers.

POLED vs IPS LCD | What's The Difference? (Google Pixel 2 vs iPhone 8) - Duration: 7:37.
Hey guys, welcome to a brand new video on the channel and today, I have quite an interesting
video for you.
With the Recent release of the Google Pixel 2 and the iPhone 8, I have been hearing a
lot about POLED displays as well as IPS displays.
But really, what is the difference between the two?
And are there any similarities?
That's what I'm here to answer.
So, to anyone who may not know or anyone who knows very little about the two, stay tuned
and let's talk.
Why don't we start off with POLED.
POLED is an acronym for Plastic Organic Light Emitting Diode.
Now, if you want to get a basic definition of the root term here, which is OLED, I would
recommend that you watch my video pitting OLED and QLED displays against each other,
I'll link it below.
But in short, an OLED display is basically a light-emitting diode containing thin flexible
sheets of an organic electroluminescent material, used for visual displays.
The Part That POLED plays in the evolution of OLED displays is that it is quite flexible.
We have seen POLED displays before in devices other than the Google Pixel 2, a majority
being from LG, With the most recent being in LG's LGV30 Smartphone.
The first wave of OLED panels were built using glass substrates, the desire for more interesting
form factors has seen this layer move over to use more flexible plastic components.
While glass is fixed and rigid, plastic substrates can be more easily formed into new shapes,
even if the end result doesn't end up being highly flexible.
Not to mention that working with plastics is much more cost effective than moulding
glass.
Plastic OLED does have its own benefits over the glass variant that we're more familiar
with too.
Perhaps the biggest is durability.
The slightly flexible nature of the display offers some additional shock absorbance over
glass, which means a slightly smaller chance of cracking your panel if you happen to drop
your phone and a longer lifetime from stress fractures.
Plastic OLED is also up to half as thin as glass OLED.
This enables manufactures to build slightly thinner devices, and we all know how much
of a premium is placed on freeing up space in today's smartphones.
Now I'm gonna get a bit technical right here, but it's all worth it to get a better
understanding of what POLED is.
A range of plastics have been used tried and tested for flexible displays, including polyethylene
terephthalate (PET) and polyethylene naphthalate (PEN).
However, the switch from a glass substrate also has to accommodate the type of TFT technologies
used, in order to bring down their manufacturing temperatures or use of plastics that can withstand
higher temperatures.
As a result, flexible OLED manufacturers are using polyimide plastics (PI) that can better
withstand high TFT manufacturing temperatures.
The type of substrate and heating process used also defines the flexibility of the display.
Now this is not a science channel so I'm not gonna be going all the way in depth with
this mainly because there's a good bit to understand, but if you understand what I have
said so far, hopefully, you already have a good bit of understanding when it comes to
POLED.
So here are just a few key things to keep in mind before we move on to IPS.
• Plastic substrate is thin and light.
• Plastic substrate offers better shock absorption and less risk of breakage.
• Excellent viewing angles.
• Potential for a very wide color gamut.
• Deep blacks and excellent contrast ratio as individual pixels can be turned off, making
it well suited for HDR.
While a POLED display may not necessarily be the brightest, it still has the potential
to become a commonly used display in smartphones, if things are done right.
Now Moving on to IPS.
First off, I should state that IPS is actually nothing new.
In fact, this technology was originally invented in 1996 by Hitachi.
IPS is actually an LCD display that replaces the older TN Panel that used to be commonly
used.
IPS is used for controlling the crystal elements that make up a display's RGB sub-pixel layout.
IPS replaced twisted nematic field effect (TN) as the technology of choice for LCD since
the 90's, and is what you'll find in all LCD based smartphone panels.
Many of you already know, the term LCD simply stands for Liquid Crystal Display.
It simply refers to thin display types that use unlit liquid crystals to formulate the
display.
It is important that you remember standard liquid crystals are unlit, because this means
that they require some form of back light in order to be visible.
Think if your pc monitor for example or any monitor that uses an LCD display.
If you would open it up and look inside of it, you would find that there are most likely
two lights deep inside of the monitor setup that allow what is being displayed to be seen.
If those lights burn out, then the chance of you really seeing anything is very low.
But enough with that, were getting back into smartphone displays.
As I stated earlier, the iPhone 8 uses an IPS display as well as many other Apple Devices.
If you've been paying attention, you would realize that Apple has been pushing this display
type in their devices for a really long time.
Now, onto How the IPS LCD really works.
A polarized backlight passes through the liquid crystals in the display, in front of red,
green, and blue color filters for each sub-pixel.
With IPS, a current is used to create an electric field parallel to the plate which twists the
polarized crystal, which further shifts the polarity of the light.
This then arrives at a second polarizer which filters out the light based on its polarity.
The more light that passes through the second polarizer, the brighter the associated RGB
sub-pixel will be.
Therefore we can say that the brighter the light, the brighter the display, and that
by itself is extremely obvious.
Using different TFT (Thin Film Transistor) materials and production techniques can alter
the driving properties of the display and alter the transistor sizes, which affects
properties such as brightness, viewing angles, and color gamut.
Hence why you'll find a variety of different naming schemes for IPS LCD display, including
Super IPS, Super LCD5, Advanced Super IPS, Horizontal IPS and many more.
Finally a few points to remember about IPS.
• Good energy efficiency and battery life.
• Excellent natural color reproduction and accuracy.
• No risk of "burn-in."
• Well refined manufacturing techniques, making LCD cost effective.
For both IPS and POLED, we can see that display quality is a big focus, but although there
are many good things about these displays, they still have their flaws, so you should
keep this in mind.
But, that's about it for today's video.

I'm going to USA - Google called me? - Duration: 9:49.
-Radio speaking: "Riccardo said: Have you ever realised that mosquitos bother you because they want to bite you and flies bother you because they are just ass*****?"
-I'm going to USA-
I just got off of work
Today was the last day, therefore I've done
It's weird to think that I don't have to come here anymore
The final presentation of the work in front of the whole company, went great!
If I could only take some picture of the reactions of the people there, probably I would have been already in Google
They are such a great guys, it was a lovely evening
They brought me in a very traditional place, they paid for me again!
Really lovely people
and I had real fun, I genuinely laughed a lot
Therefore the evening finishes here
This is the last day in Japan
Oh, wait, last day here, tomorrow I will be in Tokyo
And it ends here in my favorite crossroad
This is the crossroad that I used to cross every-morning when I went to work
I love it, how japanese is this?
Very japanese!
This kid is super tiny!
It's true, I will go to US
To do what?
I'll tell you in a bit
But first I want to explain you which part of my life I'm currently in
So, I'm still a student, I'm enrolled in the last year of the master degree
I came here in Japan to make an internship and I did it
I chose to do it because I thought it would have been useful and it definitely was!
I learned a lot on the real behavior and way of work of big companies, pro and cons
expetially cons
And now I should come back in Italy to graduate
But I don't want to come back
Because I don't like it
If I come back now, I'm worried to get stuck
In the Italian system
which include... not paid internships
I'm here in Japan, and they pay me
And they pay me also the house, because they know that I am a resource for them
Because they can understand my value and how important I may be for the company
In italy you won't even found a paid internship or if you do it will be like 500$ for 6months
I think that not paid internship is an unacceptable form of disrespect of your employee
Because you are clearly exploit an hole in the bureaucracy system to pay me less, because you don't need 6 months to learn the job or to understand if that employee is the right one
So, I really don't want to stay in Italy
where people don't believe in you, they don't believe in change, there is no meritocracy, where the taxes are damn high and salaries are damn low
I don't want to live in this place, I can't innovate in this place
I must start to invest in my ideas
3 years ago, I started a startup
It was called LocalUs
It was a very powerful idea, it was a social network
simplified, super fast to use and no learn time
I will talk about this in detail in another video if you want it
They didn't belive in it, they weren't able to follow our vision, it was a REAL precursor of what it is(and will be) Snapchat and Facebook stories
So we invested by our own,
we developed both the version of Android and iPhone and when it was the time to finalise the product, the developer run away with our money
So we got demotivated and we just quit with the app
Of course we did something wrong, we should have gone ALL IN when we had the idea, dropped out the university and so on
We didn't find a strong team, this was another mistake
I don't know if this would have gone differently if we were in US buy defintely we would have had more opportunities
The point is that I have many, REALLY, REALLY STRONG IDEAS
THAT MAY BE HUGE SUCCESSES
And in Italy is tough, they do not invest in the early stage of the idea
they invest only when the product is ready, which mean that you have to use your own money
and to use your own money you need to have a job
and to have a stable job in italy you need to be on your thirty
It is clear that we have a major problem here
I cannot wait any further
Italy is slow and it is slowing me down
Therefore I leave
I'm going to US
So after that thing that happened last weeks some one could say:
Did Google contact you?
No they didn't and they won't do it
but that's ok
I will go there to knock their door
And I will knock many doors because I'm 100% sure I can do a lot for companies and improve their businesses
and I will create new opportunities
Therefore i will find it, I will find a job
sure I will
I must to
"self-persuasion"
therefore the story is getting exciting because I really can't wait
I cant wait to show my skills
And risk
and push
meet new people, meet the companies
How can I get into the companies?
I don't know but you can bet that I will find a way
I will find a wat to get some interview
and since this is the most important thing in my life right now
I don't have the time for youtube
Therefore I have to drop it
for a while
I really care about the quality of this channel
And it would require a big amount of my time
It's not the fact that I will not have time, I always find the time, I did this entire channel editing in the night
But I really want to be focus on this thing
I cannot do any minstake
I will come back
because I love this channel
I really found the real purpose of this channel, it the perfect tool to shoot my projects and my ideas to you
and I can se the effect of it
It's not just entertaining
I received so many flattering comments that make me really happy and proud to have done this thing of YouTube
many people texted me and still text me that they got passioned about design and they found on it a great way to canalize their time and creativity
and I cannot be more happy
therefore I propose you two solutions
I'll ask you two things
The first thing is to move on instagram
I will not have time to do youtube videos but I still can do Stories
and you can follow all the moves and situations that will occur there
who I will meet, who will shut the door in my face
everything there, on Instagram
if you don't have it you can look for the page BRECCIA on facebook I will upload a summary video of the stories there
the second thing that I want to ask is to shoot a question
make me some question
I still can do videos here of Q&A, they don't reaquired to much editing
Question about everything, japan, korea, design, my opinion on new products...and so on
If I get like 15 questions, I can easily do a video
So I'm asking you to do these two things
follow me on instagram
and shoot me a question typing @brecciask at the bequinning of the comment
riccardo DOT breccia on instagram with double C, RI CC ARDO
And the question, type it now
e.g.:What do you thing about North korea?
So guys thanks a lot for the attention
I hope to see you again here next Saturday
And take care

Google Pixel 2 vs Google Nexus 5X - Should You Upgrade? - Duration: 5:28.
The new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL are finally here and Nexus 5X users everywhere are craving
for an upgrade.
Is it worth upgrading to the new Google Pixel 2?
Or should you stick to the Nexus 5X?
All that and more is coming right up.
The Nexus lineup was renown for its pure unadulterated Android, and after Google phased out the Nexus
lineup, it reintroduced the same concept under the Pixel name.
This year Google released its latest iteration in the Pixel lineup, the Google Pixel 2.
It has a premium build quality and has a matte textured aluminum back and edges, and a glass
piece just above the fingerprint sensor.
Unlike the 5X, the Pixel 2 is IP67 certified, which means it can withstand 30 minutes in
up to 1 meter deep water.
And I actually put the Pixel 2 up to a water test and you can see how it fares by going
to the link in the description.
Anyway, one feature, or lack of a feature that many users are upset with is the removal
of the headphone jack.
It's certainly something to get used to, but what makes it most annoying is that other
high end phones like the LG V30 have managed to keep a headphone jack and have large batteries.
But if you all do end up picking up a phone without a headphone jack, you'll need to
get a pair of wireless earbuds, and the best ones I've used and would recommend are the
JayBird X3s.
So I'll have a link to that down below.
As far as the Nexus 5X goes, it's made of plastic and just doesn't have the same feel
in the hand.
The cheaper, plasticy volume rockers and power buttons of the 5X have been replaced with
an upgraded, clicker and more sturdy set of buttons, with that aluminum build.
The 5X just feels far cheaper than the Pixel 2.
Comparing the actual sizes of the phones, you'll see that the Pixel 2 actually has
a 5 inch screen compared to the 5X's 5.2 inch display, and the 5X is about a five hundredths
of an inch taller and a tenth of inch wider than the Pixel 2.
You'll will notice, however, that they're the same thickness.
So like myself, after hearing these numbers you're probably wondering why the Pixel
2 has a smaller screen and the same sized battery, when the phones are practically identical
in size.
Many would say it appears that Google traded screen size and a headphone jack for dual
stereo speakers, but if you look at the Pixel 2 XL, it also has stereo speakers, but very
small bezels.
Now I'm no engineer who specializes in phone design, so I'm not going to pretend to know
the actual tradeoffs, but I think it's worth pointing this out.
If I had no idea the size of the batteries on the Pixel 2 and 5X, I wouldn't have ever
guessed they were the same size.
Nexus 5X battery life has been quite lackluster lately and I've had to charge up throughout
the day, but this is specific my experience with battery.
Pixel 2 on the other hand has objectively battery life, even better than the Galaxy
S8 and iPhone 8.
Fast charging is also ultra quick and should you under two hours to charge from 0 to 100%
battery.
One big plus with the Pixel 2 is that it's running Android 8.0.
If you own a 5X, you may be saying, "hey, i just upgraded my 5X to Android 8.0".
And yeah I got that update also, but take a look at this and tell me the phones running
actual Android 8.0.
Sure, you can see the similarities in the notification bar when you swipe down, but
the swipe up to open app drawer feature isn't available, the google search bar and applications
have a completely different design.
I will say though, the 5X is still pretty darn quick.
It's not at Pixel 2 speeds, but I don't see much lag on it in day to day use.
One area we see significant upgrades in is the both the front and rear facing camera
quality.
The Pixel 2 has a 12 megapixel shooter that is faster, far more accurate in its colors,
and is an overall improvement over the Nexus 5X.
My only gripe with the camera is that it is a physical bump on the back which can cause
scratches on the camera, but the 5X had that as well.
For this reason you'll probably want to a pick up a case if you decide on the iPhone
8.
So I'll leave some links down in the description below if you're interested.
For a two year old phone, the Nexus 5X has fared very well.
It's still pretty quick and has stood the test of time.
It's certainly not a high end phone and it's specs just don't compare to the Pixel
2.
If you're tired with poor battery life, want a better camera, and updated Android
software, I would say to pick up the Pixel 2.
Could you use the 5X another year or so, probably, but the Pixel 2 is clearly better in just
about every respect with the speakers, display, and build quality.
Anyway, let me know what you all think of the new Pixel 2, and whether you plan on upgrading
down in the comment section down below.

Hi, I'm Sami, from Fawzi academy, In this video, I will talk about,
How to refine Refine web searches. You can use symbols or words in your search, to make your search results more precise.
Google Search usually ignores punctuation that isn't part of a search operator. Don't put spaces between the symbol or word
and your search term. A search for site:nytimes.com will work, but site: nytimes.com won't.
The following are Common search techniques, to refine web result from your search.
Search social media. Put @ in front of a word to search social media. For example: @twitter.
Search for a price. Put $ in front of a number. For example: camera $400.
Search hashtags. Put # in front of a word. For example: #throwbackthursday.
Exclude words from your search. Put - in front of a word you want to leave out. For example, jaguar speed –car.
Search for an exact match. Put a word or phrase inside quotes. For example, "tallest building".
Search for wildcards or unknown words. Put a * in your word or phrase where you want to leave a placeholder. For example, "largest * in
the world". Search within a range of numbers.
Put .. between two numbers. For example, camera $50..$100.
Combine searches Put "OR" between each search query. For example, marathon OR race.
Search for a specific site. Put "site:" in front of a site or domain. For example, site:youtube.com or site:.gov.
Search for related sites. Put "related:" in front of a web address you already know. For example, related:time.com.
Get details about a site. Put "info:" in front of the site address.
See Google's cached version of a site. Put "cache:" in front of the site address.
