4-Month-Old Puppy Starved In Cage And Left For Dead, But Something Miraculous Was About

To Happen

Children living with autism like Jonny Hickey can be unreachable to their closest loved

ones.

Autism is a developmental disorder that affects how people interact in social situations.

Jonny's parents knew he was different.

He lived in his own little world where no one could interact with him.

But incredibly, Jonny would soon meet a creature who would break through his fear of people.

In September of 2012, a 4-month-old Stafford pit bull mix was found in a pit on the street.

Her wounds and state of malnourishment told a gruesome, disturbing story all their own.

The fragile girl recovered in the care of veterinary staff.

Her will to live shocked everyone.

But it's how she got her name: Xena, the warrior.

"I've been doing rescue probably for about 12 years, and I had never seen a dog that

young in that sort of condition," said Chrissy Kaczynski, who works for Animal Services and

is a founding member of the rescue group Friends of DeKalb Animals.

"I brought her home with me and I didn't think she'd make it through the night."

Xena's condition soon improved; so much so she was ready to start a new life.

All she needed was a loving, forever home to make her world complete.

Very slowly, the sweet girl shed her fear of people.

During an open house event at the shelter, fate intervened.

Xena met the Hickey family.

Both staff and the Hickey's were surprised when Jonny and Xena formed a quick friendship.

They spent the entire day together.

Jonny's fright of people was forgotten.

He allowed Xina to lick his face, which before meeting his new four-legged friend, wouldn't

have happened.

Naturally, the family adopted Xena that very day.

Boy and dog continued to establish their unbreakable bond.

Jonny's parents were overjoyed with the change in their son.

His mother said, "Jonny had a limited vocabulary.

But since Xena's arrival, his readiness to talk has almost exploded.

Jonny is like a new person!"

The little boy's personality has continued to blossom.

He helped out with an awareness campaign wishing to change peoples perceptions of autism.

Xina and Jonny became an internet sensation.

Xina even won Dog of The Year for 2013 by the ASPCA.

In fact, boy and dog continue to give back by raising money for specific causes.

He's Upset When Car Breaks Down, But When He Sees What's In Trash Heap Knows It's

Act Of God

Car trouble is one of the most frustrating things.

We depend on our cars so much to get us to where we need to be, and when the vehicle

pops a tire or breaks down somewhere, it can throw the whole day – or even week – into

havoc.

That's what these commuters in East Tilbury, England, discovered as they were driving to

work one day.

Little did they know, though, that their car trouble would end up saving a life!

As the two men waited for help to arrive, they walked over to a nearby trash pile so

they would be safe from the road, and that's when they saw something that broke their hearts.

Hidden amongst the garbage – just barely visible – was an emaciated Saluki.

The brown and white dog was skin and bones and so weak that she was just barely able

to lift her head when the men came toward her.

"She was curled up behind a large pile of debris and rubbish," said Rebecca Benson,

an inspector for the local Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

"She could only just manage to lift her head."

The poor dog, who they estimate is only about 18 months old, was caked in mud and waste.

The men tried to give her some water, but she wouldn't drink it.

Rebecca rushed the sick pup to an animal heath center where the vet told her he suspected

she had severe gastrointestinal problems.

They decided the dog, who they named Penny, should stay at the clinic for a little while

so she could be monitored and given the treatment and care she both needs and deserves.

"I hate to think what could have happened to her if [those men] hadn't broken down

in the area and stumbled across her," Rebecca said later.

"She's literally been thrown out with the rubbish and was dumped at a location where

she could have easily never have been found."

Penny didn't have a microchip or ID, so they may never know her full story, but they

believe her owners probably abandoned her after realizing she was sick.

"I strongly suspect she's simply been cast aside because she needed some veterinary

attention and her owner didn't want to pay for that," Rebecca said.

She added that she is going to do her best to track down the cruel person or people who

did this.

"To do something so cold and callous is just heartbreaking and I'd like to find

out who is responsible," she said.

Thankfully vets were able to rehydrate Penny and she is growing stronger every day.

They expect her to make a full recovery!

After posting Penny's story on the RSPCA Essex Havering Branch Facebook page, the group

has been "inundated with offers of homes" for the sweet dog.

For now, they are going to continue monitoring Penny's health, but as soon as she is strong

and healthy enough they plan to find her a good, loving home.

Had it not been for the commuters' car trouble that day, Penny may have died in the trash

heap.

It's a good reminder for all of us – sometimes when things go wrong, it's really a miracle

in disguise!

Were you happy to see Penny rescued by these guardian angels?

So share this!

Mueller's Witch Hunt Finds Nothing on Trump, But Look Which Obama Truth Surfaced - Duration: 14:38.

Mueller's Witch Hunt Finds Nothing on Trump, But Look Which Obama Truth Surfaced

It's no suprise that the Russian-Trump collusion was nothing but a sham or distraction from

the real news.

Obama and the Democrats were hoping most Americans weren't paying attention to real news so

they could keep you focused on this fake news story.

However, we all know the Russian-Trump collusion has been nothing more than a witch hunt.

Though special counsel Robert Mueller has thus far uncovered zero evidence that President

Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential

election, a far more shocking revelation regarding former President Barack Obama has made its

way to the surface.

"US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret

court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving

a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe," CNN

revealed in a bombshell scoop last week.

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION INVESTIGATORS ALSO REPORTEDLY WIRETAPPED TRUMP ADVISERS CARTER PAGE, MICHAEL

FLYNN AND OTHERS.

While it remains unclear how this information was unearthed, CNN's sources claim Mueller's

team "has been provided details of these communications."

But the more pressing point are the implications of this discovery.

"If these reports are accurate, it means U.S. intelligence agencies secretly surveilled

at least a half dozen Trump associates," veteran journalist Sharyl Attkisson explained

in a column for The Hill.

"And those are just the ones we know about."

In other words, "(i)t looks like Obama did spy on Trump, just as he apparently did to

me," she added, referencing an allegation she made several years back that Obama's

Justice Department had attempted to hack into her personal and work computers in 2013.

What remains unknown is whether any of this sketchy behavior was actually legal.

Attkisson noted, however, that even if these hacks and wiretaps were legal, that doesn't

take away from the shadiness of it all.

The truth is, the revelation shows Obama and his administration were actively engaged in

surveillance of American citizens that would have been unthinkable not all that long ago.

As Attkisson writes: "It seems that government monitoring of journalists, members of Congress

and political enemies — under multiple administrations — has become more common than anyone would

have imagined two decades ago … So has the unmasking of sensitive and highly protected

names by political officials."

Of course Obama spied on Trump.

Of course it was illegal.

Obama and the Democrats knew about it and did it any way.

I highly doubt that the MSM will report on ANY of THIS news though.

The Democrats and MSM will just keep digging on Trump for ANYTHING

and EVERYTHING!

Whenever I open up any of the Pokemon soundfonts in FL Studio, it says that it's corresponding plugin is a "Demo Version"

If I close out of FL Studio and open it back up, it says that the stuff I made while having that demo plugin has to be deleted

I don't know how to change the soundfonts' default plugin so now I have to like not procrastinate because

sometimes my computer will start acting up and I have to restart it (cause it's like 5 years old) and if i restart it,

then it closes out of all my opened windows including FL Studio, then when my computer boots back up and I reopen FL Studio,

the aforementioned message pops up saying my plugin was a demo version and all the stuff I made with it will now be deleted.

Tbh it sucks ass and I need a new computer, which gives all the more reason for you to donate to my Patreon (link in description)

A Family Were Crushed When Their Cat Went Missing But Two Years On The Mom Saw A Familiar Face - Duration: 6:50.

When animal lover Susan Zelitsky's cat, Jimmy, went missing one day in 2014, his absence

devastated his owner.

After searching for ages but with no sign of him anywhere in her New Jersey neighborhood,

Zelitsky began losing hope of ever seeing her tabby again.

However, a couple of years later, she noticed a very familiar face staring back at her while

browsing online.

Zelitsky lives with her husband, Bob, in Wanaque, New Jersey, where they both work in accountancy.

In 2014, the couple were the proud owners of a dog and a 13-year-old cat called Jimmy.

However, little did they know that they were about to lose a member of their furry family.

The Zelitskys had never expected Jimmy to go missing.

Although the tabby was mischievous and enjoyed a wander, his explorations never took him

far away from home.

In fact, most of the time the cat simply preferred lounging on the porch with his owners.

Technically, he was an indoors animal, and when he did venture further afield, it was

usually only as far as the driveway.

The feline had a bit of a thing for climbing into cars through open windows, but nothing

serious.

Alternatively, Jimmy would go and visit a kindly neighbor, who would give him something

special to eat.

Occasionally, if he was feeling adventurous, the tabby would follow Zelitsky apiece as

she walked the family dog.

However, no matter where Jimmy strayed, Zelitsky would usually find the cat meowing at the

door within a matter of hours.

However, one Saturday in September 2014, the tabby didn't return.

"He used to go in and out every day but always came back, except that one night,"

Zelitsky told animal interest website, The Dodo in October 2017.

On that day, Bob had let Jimmy out for his usual pad about.

But – unusually – after a while, when the Zelitskys felt it was time for the cat

to return he didn't turn up.

As a result, Zelitsky called out for him until midnight when she suspended her efforts until

the following day.

The next morning, the concerned owner went out to look for Jimmy around the neighborhood.

However, her search-and-rescue mission proved fruitless.

But, unwilling to give up on their tabby, the Zelitskys hung missing cat posters all

around the local area.

Furthermore, they contacted local shelters and police departments in the hope of any

lead on the missing moggie.

As the time passed, the bereft human mom continued to call out for Jimmy whenever she walked

her dog.

However, she never received a response, and the family did not get any news about their

cherished cat.

Consequently, the Zelitskys began to give up hope of ever seeing Jimmy again.

"We were devastated," the mom later told to local media.

However, the family had little choice but to get on with their lives.

So the Zelitskys tried as best they could to adjust to life without Jimmy.

They even got two new kittens to try and fill the feline-shaped hole in their home.

But their original cat was never far from the family's minds.

Over time, Zelitsky developed a theory as to what had happened to Jimmy.

As we have learned, one of his worst habits had been to sneak into parked cars to snooze.

So the family came to believe that some unwitting motorist may have returned to their vehicle,

and driven away with a sleeping Jimmy on board.

With all this in mind, it seemed unlikely that Zelitsky would ever see Jimmy again.

However, one day when she was browsing through social media in March 2017, a post from the

nearby West Milford Animal Shelter caught her eye.

The organization had taken in a stray tom cat, after he had been caught in a blizzard,

and it had updated its Facebook page with a picture of the forlorn feline.

And he looked remarkably like Jimmy.

It had now been a long two-and-a-half years since Jimmy went missing.

Furthermore, the tabby the shelter had rescued was found ten miles away from the Zelitsky

family home, in the High Crest neighborhood of West Milford, New Jersey.

Nevertheless, his owner had a positive feeling about the cat.

Consequently, Zelitsky left a message below the Facebook post in an attempt to determine

whether the cat was in fact her Jimmy.

Following her comment, she exchanged a number of old photographs of the feline with the

shelter.

Then – presumably unable to wait – Zelitsky arranged a visit to the facility the very

next day.

To help the cat remember her, she gathered up some familiar items including a pillowcase,

and one of Jimmy's favorite toys – a dog's chew toy.

For added emotional support, she also brought along Dayna Devine, who was the kindly neighbor

who would give Jimmy treats to eat.

In fact, it was Devine who had given Zelitsky the feline in the first place.

Zelitsky was presumably nervous when she entered the West Milford rescue center.

However, as soon as she saw the cat in question, she knew it was her tabby.

"When they opened the crate door, I said, 'Jimmy is that you ?

and he walked over and head-butted me and smooshed his nose into the dog's toy,"

she told to media.

Zelitsky added, "I immediately started to sob.

He started to rub up against us, and when I was rubbing his belly he nipped me – which

he always did".

But then it was time for a second opinion.

Zelitsky said, "He put his head in Dayna's hands and he started to purr loudly".

After a gap of more than two long years, Zelitsky now knew that she had reunited with Jimmy.

"I was convinced it was my boy," she revealed.

But now it was important that Bob also saw for himself.

"I called my husband and he came to the shelter," Zelitsky continued.

"When he saw Bob, he did the same head-butt".

At this point, with the shelter staff watching all this unfold, there was no doubt in anyone's

mind that the stray cat was Jimmy.

As a result, the cat was soon back at home with the Zelitskys.

And the prodigal tabby wasted no time in reasserting himself into the family hierarchy.

Zelitsky revealed, "When it was OK to let him roam the house, he walked around like

he owned the place".

Luckily, however, the family dog remembered him.

And what's more, as Zelitsky informed to media,

"The new kitties, who are two, welcomed him and everyone is one big happy family".

With the wandering feline finally home and fitting firmly back into the family, Jimmy's

owners could not have been happier.

"We are over the moon," Zelitsky told The media about her and Bob and their two

grown-up daughters, Taylor and Paige.

"It's the greatest story ever and almost too good to be true.

Sony's Clever but Flawed PlayStation Copy Protection--And How They Could Have Fixed It - Duration: 14:15.

When Sony released the PlayStation, the first commercially successful game console to use

the compact disc as its storage medium, they had a problem on their hands.

Using a CD gave them all sorts of advantages, but the CD burner and CD-R presented a challenge.

What's to stop someone from making illegal copies of our precious intellectual property?

Well, they thought of a solution.

If I take this copy of Parappa the Rapper and pop it in my computer's CD drive, it

can see what's on there.

And it will gladly make a copy.

My duplicate disc has exactly the same files on here.

Awesome!

It should work!

And yet, it doesn't.

The PlayStation knows that this is a counterfeit disc, and it won't play it.

Why?

Well, the data on these two discs may be exactly the same, but this disc is missing something

which cannot be replicated by a CD burner.

Now, it's actually pretty easy to get around this.

Mod chips and disc swapping were two well known ways to bypass this copy protection.

And of course these days, there are emulators, so using the console itself isn't even required.

Now I'm not going make a comment on the pitfalls of DRM or the people who circumvent it.

Sony has valid reasons for using it, and there are also perfectly legitimate reasons for

an individual to use a copied disc--for example to provide a backup of your software library.

But in this video, I'd like to suggest a way that Sony could have made the PlayStation

discs almost impossible to copy.

There's a certain quirk in the design of these consoles that suggests they might have

had this in mind, but abandoned it.

So first, let's take a quick look at the history of the console, as well as how the

copy protection actually works.

The original Sony PlayStation was a groundbreaking product in a number of ways.

Though not the first video game console to use the compact disc for data storage, it

was the first to achieve widespread success.

There's a fascinating history as well as a juicy tale of corporate backstabbing behind

the PlayStation's creation which I won't go into here in much detail.

But if you weren't aware, the PlayStation started as an accessory for the SNES.

Yep, Nintendo hired Sony as a hardware accessory partner, and after deciding that the terms

of the contract weren't to their liking in regards to software rights, Nintendo just

shoved Sony aside and instead announced a new partnership with Philips.

Rather than just abandon their work, Sony decided to make their own game console as

the ultimate F.U. to Nintendo.

Using optical storage for game data had tons of advantages over the then standard ROM cartridges.

They were cheaper to make, could hold MUCH more data, were smaller, more versatile, and

due to that extra data, allowed for things such as CD-quality audio alongside gameplay.

The CD-ROM's biggest disadvantage was that of a slow load time, as the data being read

from the disc isn't coming in particularly quickly.

A ROM cartridge could be read at any point randomly and with higher data throughput,

allowing many games to load nearly instantly.

Oh, and the CD was also pretty fragile, so there's that, too.

And, uh, early consoles suffered from a poorly designed CD reader, so…

well they weren't perfect.

Even though the original PlayStation only has a measly 2 megabytes of RAM, a normal

CD only outputs 1.2 megabits per second.

The CD-ROM drive in the PlayStation could operate at 2X speed, but even then it would

take 6.5 seconds to fill the RAM completely.

But of course, it usually took longer than that, as the laser would have to dart around

the disc to get all of the data it needed to load the next environment.

Want to play a skirmish in Twisted Metal 4?

You'll be staring at this screen and listening to this for a good while.

[Sound of console seeking data on CD]

Anyway, though there were downsides, the CD-ROM is arguably what made the original PlayStation

so successful.

But it also introduced that unique problem for Sony.

All cartridge based video game systems are essentially immune to counterfeit copies being

made of their games.

You'd need to have awfully specialized equipment to duplicate one of these, and then you'd

need to track down a blank cartridge with writable memory.

So, it was pretty much never done.

But the CD-ROM, well that's easy as pie to copy!

Although they were pretty expensive at the time, the CD Burner was very much a thing

when the PS1 was released, and so was the CD-R. Obviously worried about the potential

for piracy, Sony engineered a pretty clever trick into the system to ensure only legit

discs could be played.

However, it wasn't actually that clever.

OK, well, the actual feature is, but the implementation wasn't.

Like I said before, in reality it was pretty easy to get around the copy protection.

So then, how does the copy protection on the PS1 discs work?

First, let's get it out of the way and say that the black color of the disc has nothing

to do with it, whatsoever.

Though one promo video about the PlayStation suggests that this could be the purpose, it isn't.

This is just for looks.

[NARRATOR: Black ink is added to the plastic to give the CD its distinctive, "cool PlayStation-only look."

This also helps protect the CD from illegal copying.]

Actually, it's not even black, it's a very deep purpley-blue.

This is a similar color of plastic to what's commonly found in front of infrared light

sensors on a device with a remote control.

It's completely transparent to infrared light, but mostly opaque to visible light.

There was nothing special about the PlayStation's CD-ROM drive that allowed it to read these discs.

The infrared light of a normal CD laser will read it just fine.

Side note--In my last video, I made an error in suggesting that DVD players don't have

an infrared laser, and use their red laser to read a CD.

This is not true, in fact many early DVD players have two complete laser pickups on a single

sled, and later devices used the same laser with two diodes.

The wavelength of light is pretty important for reading an optical disc correctly--it's

tuned to the size of the pits--so a second infrared laser diode is necessary to read

a CD.

I had completely forgotten about the importance of wavelength, and thankfully the comments

set me straight.

One commenter noted that CD compatible DVD laser pickups usually have two adjustment

pots on them, one for the IR laser, and one for the red laser, and sure enough,

there they are!

Anyway,

What Sony actually did was to add two things to the disc during mastering that weren't

normally there on a garden variety compact disc.

Well, actually, it was one addition that accomplished two tasks.

To understand what they did requires a little bit of knowledge into the laser pickup system

of any optical disc format.

It's impossible to produce a CD, DVD, Laserdisc, Blu-Ray, or economic policy that is exactly perfect.

There will always be some imperfections.

The discs aren't usually completely flat, so the distance between the disc and laser

lens is constantly fluctuating.

The disc is also never exactly centered, so the pits usually move back and forth with

each rotation.

To handle this, the objective lens is sort of floating, and electromagnets can lift it

(or lower it) as well as wiggle it left and right it to make sure the pits are in focus,

and that it's following the data spiral.

To see this in action, it's actually easiest to look at a Laserdisc.

This disc is badly warped, and towards the edges the laser is bouncing pretty wildly

to keep its focus distance constant.

Though almost never this extreme, a CD player or PlayStation needs to do this, too.

In fact, here's the laser of a PlayStation wiggling back and forth ever so slightly to

read the data from this Audio CD.

This clip also shows how the laser carriage only moves for coarse tracking in steps.

Notice how it moves outward, but the position of the lense relative to the disc doesn't change.

Now, the laser's movement is only there to maintain tracking on the data stream.

A CD player couldn't care less about what the Laser is doing,

it just wants to see the data.

Any wobbliness of the track is irrelevant to its goal of reading the data; so as long

as the wobble isn't too extreme, its presence is of no consequence.

Generally, the circuitry in charge of this tracking and focus is part of the laser pickup assembly.

This task is done at the hardware level, and can be considered automatic from the perspective

of the circuitry that actually processes the data itself.

There's a really great paper linked in the description that goes over how this is actually

accomplished.

What Sony did was introduce a way to actually keep track of how the laser lens moved.

The hardware would monitor the horizontal movement of the objective lens, and it was

looking for a specific wobble in the data it's reading.

As part of the mastering process in PlayStation discs, the very first sectors of data in the

pregap are recorded with a wobble of a specific frequency.

Rather than a smooth spiral, the track looked something like this.

The wobbling was also used for encoding which region the disc was for.

The region code was amplitude modulated into the wobble itself, and if the code on the

disc didn't match the console's BIOS, it would not play.

The reason this worked was that any ordinary CD drive would just ignore this wobble.

Actually, ignore isn't quite the right word.

It was unaware of the wobble.

The tracking circuitry in its laser pickup would just do its job and keep the laser in

line with the data stream.

It didn't matter how the data wobbled, or even if the data wobbled.

Its job was just to get the data.

When you made a copy, that copy would be missing the wobble.

When the CD drive is reading the disc to make an image file for burning, it isn't even

aware of the wobble.

The data captured during the disc read is all that matters for burning the disc.

Now, a CD burner is looking for a wobble on a CD-R, but for a very different reason.

A CD-R has a premade wobble molded into the polycarbonate--that's the plastic the disc

is made of.

This wobble contains the ATIP, which tells the CD burner the properties of the disc such

as its capacity and maximum write speed, and throughout the rest of the disc it wobbles

at a constant frequency.

A CD burner is looking for this wobble as it writes to a disc both to maintain proper

tracking as it writes on it, as well as to maintain the proper writing speed.

Because this wobble is already there on a CD-R, even if a CD drive could detect the

region-encoding wobble on a PlayStation disc, it couldn't recreate it.

To recreate the wobble of a PlayStation disc would require jumping in and out of this premade

groove, which the burner can't do.

Even if it tried, by crossing the premade lines, the data would likely be impossible

to read correctly.

Where Sony failed was by being a little lazy with how disc authenticity is checked.

With few exceptions, the console only looks for this wobble at bootup.

People figured this out, and by defeating the lid switch and carefully watching a disc

spin, you can see when it's checking for the wobble and swap in a burned copy for a

real disc with a little practice.

The reason this worked is that Sony built in a healthy bit of tolerance for damaged

discs; so as long as you are fast enough, it will just pass the disc off as being scratched,

thus needing multiple attempts to read the data.

But disc swapping was annoying and also could damage your discs and perhaps even the console,

so the other option was to install a modchip that would inject the code into the system

at the right time, so even though the laser wasn't seeing the wobble, the processor

would think that it did.

Game developers eventually created ways to detect a modchip, so this wasn't completely

infallible, but it was still a relatively easy way to play a burnt disc.

So now that you know what the PS1 does to determine the validity of a disc, as well

as why it was so easy to get around it, here's where my little theory comes into play.

I had mentioned there's a design quirk.

When you open up the lid of a PS1, you might notice that the area that holds the CD is

MUCH larger than the CD itself.

Could it be that Sony had originally intended for PS1 discs to be larger than a standard CD?

Some people think the PS1 discs contain data outside the range of a normal CD's laser

carriage, and that this is how the copy protection works.

While this isn't the case, Sony could have done that.

And if they did it by going outside the normal readable area, they could have really locked

this down.

Imagine that the PlayStation discs were an extra 3 centimeters across, making it a 15

centimeter disc rather than 12.

If Sony had extended the rails on their CD drive in here, the laser could read all the

way to the edge of this slightly larger disc.

Not only would this have increased the amount of data on the disc, but it would have made

copying them almost impossible.

Almost every CD drive has a second insert for 8 cm discs, and top loading drives can

of course handle them, too.

The physical size of a CD can be smaller, and it will still work.

But if Sony had gone bigger, you could not physically fit a PlayStation disc into the

standard five and a quarter inch CD burner in your PC.

If would fit fine in here, but there's no way it will make it in here.

If they had done this, the PS1 could still play audio CDs just fine.

It wouldn't remove any functionality from the system.

It's already more than capable of playing an 8 cm CD OK.

And if they had always ensured that some of the game data was written outside the 12cm

diameter of a normal CD, even on smaller games which needed less than the 700 megabytes of

data available on standard CD, a copy would be impossible to make without the console noticing.

If Sony had gone this route, can you imagine how difficult it would be to make a duplicate disc?

No one was making CD drives capable of reading a disc that large, and there would be little

incentive to start doing so.

Even if a CD burner appeared on the market which could handle a 15 centimeter disc, how

easy do you think it would be to get your hands on a 15 centimeter CD-R?

Now, it's obvious why Sony didn't do this.

The whole point of using the CD was to make manufacturing games quick and cheap.

To make a 15cm CD is really to make an entirely new format.

That would require new disc pressing machinery, or at the very least significant retooling

of existing machinery.

Also, a new case design would be needed, with a physically larger disc being more difficult

to store.

The standard CD jewel case already had the support of countless storage systems.

But if they had decided to just make the discs a tiny bit bigger, which the design of the

early consoles suggests was possible, if not intended, mod chips and disc swapping couldn't

have done a thing.

A burned PlayStation game simply couldn't exist.

DJI Phantom 4 Pro —Just another unboxing, but its an amazing one for me - Duration: 10:20.

sometimes things happen when you want them to this is one of those moments so

you can see the other day I received my drone my phantom 4 Pro and this is the

first one that I got I ordered refurbished one so it's not

brand new and when I opened the package I could

see that the drone that I got it's actually completely new it have never

been flown before I got this at a much cheaper price than

if I would get a new one but the thing is that there's a lot of things missing

they said that this one should be totally complete I ordered it on store

it's called metal net so the controller is in here the battery is in here if you

the charger is here but not the electrical cable for the charger new

manuals only one set of propellers they aren't even in the little bag where you

should receive them in the bag that you can use as a cloth to clean the lens so

I called them up said that well it actually said on the package that if all

the accessories should be in here and I wanted them to solve it in some way it

actually came just in this box in the mail with the paperwork just like this

on it

because they had done this the wrong way they said that they were willing to send

me another one instead of this one if I send this one back so I'm sending this

one back and in the mail today this new box came and it seems a lot more better

packaged and it's straight from DJ I haven't been open so it's actually a

brand new so let's open this one see if you can get this one open like this okay

it's much better packaged so let's get this one out of here

here it is so I actually bought this one for a very low price and just because

they didn't put everything in they offered to send me a brand new one it

took one more day I think that's worth it

first time I will open it

actually I wouldn't just take everything out of here see that everything is in

here so we got the controller

looking good

we got the drone itself with the battery already put in they should be shipped

like that not with the battery in the battery compartment and it has the

gimbal clamp up here as well for storage the other clamp down here I'm excited

I'm very excited this will be awesome let's see they have the memory card that

comes with it and it's not just any memory card

it's a SanDisk Extreme 16gb so it's a good card let's put it in there move

this to the side here is the OTG cable and the USB cable to connect it

okay so here is the bag which you can use as a cloth to clean the drone

between the lens if you want to and in here we got two sets of propellers

so that's really nice down here we got the battery charger here is the missing

cable also from the other one the other one didn't have this one so I well I

could probably find one of these laying around in my home but well

and also the manuals and the documentation we can start by unwrapping

this plastic I don't think I want this on when I charge this battery

I think I need my knife again

I have to unwrap this one too now let's see we have to charge this one so we

will put in the charger in there and we will put in the battery in there and

we'll have to rearrange this I have a bit I think take this on top as well

it's really nice packaged everything so really happy about this in the

controller it's charging that's good and the battery is also

shorting so and we just had to wait until tomorrow

we will be going flying

if you haven't subscribed already do so by clicking down there on the Swedish

flag and then you can also click on the little bell icon up there and then

you'll get notified when I put out new videos and if you want to watch another

video I got one over there for you

Giant Sac Covers Baby's Face, But When Doctors Remove It Parents Weep At Sight Underneath - Duration: 2:35.

Giant Sac Covers Baby's Face, But When Doctors Remove It Parents Weep At Sight Underneath

Being prepared for anything is part of the parenting game, and no one knows this better

than 46-year-old Valeka Riegel who, during her prenatal ultrasound, found out that her

unborn son had a rather unusual condition.

Zakary Riegel was born with a rare defect covering the majority of his face with a sac.

Also known as encephalocele, this sac is where the brain tissue collects when a baby's skull

doesn't close all the way during development in the womb.

According to statistics from the CDC, one in 12,200 babies is born with some form of

encephalocele each year.

So even though Zakary was born healthy in all other aspects, when Valeka first saw him,

she told Today, she couldn't help but cry: "Only a large protrusion and tiny little lips

- no eyes, no nose, no eyelashes."

Not that these features didn't exist, but the baseball-sized sac was hiding it all from

sight.

At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, 22 doctors, who had been monitoring

Zakary's prenatal diagnosis, took on the challenge to fix his condition post-delivery.

A little sling helped carry the weight of the sac, and helped Zakary breathe and eat

on his own.

After four months in the NICU with the sling, Zakary was old enough to undergo the 9-hour

surgery to remove the growth and repair the gap in the skull.

It is hard to imagine just how Valeka was able to keep a positive outlook through all

of this.Thankfully, the surgery was successful and when Valeka first saw Zakary without the

sac: "I just cried because I didn't know he had

such beautiful long eyelashes and big brown eyes.

They were perfect on both sides."

He was so unrecognizable, but in the best way possible.

A smiling child who somehow knew that what he had lived through was extraordinary!

But even a good change is still a change and according to Valeka it took getting used to

for both mom and baby: "I had come to fall in love with this little

boy with this big ball on his face.

He always played with it.

the first couple of days, he kept swatting at his face, like 'Wait a second, I'm not

seeing it; I'm not feeling it."

( US News ) Montréal Is Breathing Better, But Challenges Remain - Duration: 10:10.

Montréal Is Breathing Better, But Challenges Remain

HuffPost Illustration.

Air quality has always been one of Montréal's preoccupations.

Already by 1872, when coal combustion was at its peak and black smoke shrouded the city, Montréal had adopted a bylaw aiming to reduce air pollution, thus becoming the first Canadian city to regulate on the matter.

Since then, the black smoke subsided, giving way to hydroelectricity, and air quality improved in our metropolis.

However, we are far from having won the battle, and today's issues are more complex than ever before.

This is why my administration is firmly committed to fighting greenhouse gas emissions, a battle we will fight on every front.

Mobility is not only at the heart of my preoccupations, but will also be at the very heart of our fight against air pollution.

Transportation alone produces nearly 40 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions in Montréal.

If we want to reach our 30 percent reduction objective by 2020, compared with the greenhouse gas emission levels in 1990, we must improve mobility in Montréal.

Nicolas Kipourax Paquet via Getty Images Mobility in Montréal will be at the heart of its fight against air pollution.

Several options must be considered to fulfill our commitment.

Thus, we must offer a more effective, more comfortable and quicker public transit system, to encourage Montrealers to use it.

Active transportation will also have to be put forth, namely by offering safe biking and pedestrian infrastructures, thus converting more people to biking and walking.

We will also have to make solo driving less attractive, namely by promoting carpooling, so as to reduce the number of vehicles on our city's streets.

Our program is an ambitious one, but we have the willpower to reach our goals.

But that's not all.

To reduce the population's needs in terms of mobility, we must take a look at urban planning on our territory.

Urban sprawl has generated considerable transportation needs, too often met by solo driving.

Over the course of the next few years, we will have to revise how we build our neighborhoods and our city, so as to densify our territory but also to offer all of our city's households access to local services within their own neighborhoods, thus reducing the cost of their mobility needs.

Tom Szczerbowski via Getty Images Montréal will have to revise how it builds its neighborhoods and its city to reduce the cost of mobility needs.

Greenhouse gas emissions produced by the vehicles on our streets will also have to be reduced.

Renewable energy sources will have to be introduced, and the efficiency of freight transportation will have to be improved, so the air we breathe no longer bears the brunt of our transportation habits.

These goals are not just wishful thinking on our part.

Shortly after being sworn in, I, like so many other North American mayors, signed the Chicago Climate Charter.

Under this agreement, all participating cities must offer safe and accessible active transportation and public transit to their citizens.

Moreover, the charter requires that municipal administrations invest in their public transit networks and in their vehicle fleet, so as to reduce their carbon footprint.

We are deeply committed to keeping our promises, to remaining proactive and to providing future generations with improved air quality.

Our work is actually already in progress.

For more than 50 years now, Montréal has been measuring air quality through 15 different monitoring stations strategically located on the island.

This allowed us to record a steady improvement in air quality since the year 2000.

Thus, the carbon monoxide present in the air was reduced by 53 percent, hydrogen sulfide was reduced by 75 percent, benzene levels went down 90 percent, nitrogen dioxide is 77 percent lower, and sulfur dioxide was reduced by 81 percent from 2000 to 2016.

In addition, fine particle concentrations in the air were also 38 percent lower in 2016 than they were in 2009.

Since 2014, the average yearly fine particle concentration is even lower than the norm suggested by the World Health Organization.

However, we are still far from having won the battle.

This is why the city has decided to adopt the bylaw concerning solid-fuel-burning devices and fireplaces.

These devices are responsible for 39 percent of fine particle emissions, second only to transportation, responsible for 45 percent of those emissions.

Our administration also wishes to invest in the greening of our city, by increasing the number of trees on its territory.

This will not only improve air quality, but also fight against heat islands.

STM Société de transport de Montréal is hoping to expand its network of hybrid buses, such as those above, and also electric buses.

A few days ago, we also launched a call for tenders that will allow the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) to purchase 300 new hybrid buses, whereby we will considerably increase the quality of the network's services, all while reducing our carbon footprint.

Furthermore, 40 electric buses will be added to the STM's fleet over the next few years.

Our objective is clear, and we will not lose sight of it.

In the short term, Montréal has earmarked an additional contribution of about 28 million Canadian dollars ($22.5 million) for the STM in 2018.

This amount will allow the STM to increase metro frequency outside of rush hour, and to add buses to less-serviced neighborhoods, such as Griffintown and Rivière-des-Prairies, for instance.

Air quality is every Montrealer's business.

Although the situation is improving across the island, every neighborhood and every household still plays a role in reducing air pollution, if only by their chosen method of transportation or the greening of their streets.  The past few years have allowed us to significantly improve air quality in Montréal, but we still have a long road ahead before we can say we've won the battle.

I am convinced that, together, we will reach our goals.
