>> And don't be afraid to ask questions because there's not really like stupid

questions, like silly questions that you might think are like, you know, there are

so many facilities on campus that can help you, like Curtin Connect so if you

have any questions about your enrolment and stuff like that,

scholarships or you know if you're really sick, we've got doctor on campus, physios, nurses,

counselling services, all on campus. Which is pretty awesome.

>> You don't really need to leave, you can live here,

you can sleep in the sleeping pods if you don't want to go home...

>> You can shower here. Eat as well. Free wifi.

>> And the library, Abacus (lab) is open 24/7.

>> And so is security, they're here all the time as well.

>> Security, yeah it's here 24/7 as well,

and they will escort you from any place you would like to, if you're like

you know it's really late at night and you don't feel comfortable to walk to

your car. Like I've had someone drive me personally to my car which is like

awesome and that goes back to the whole community feel about Curtin.

>> You just call them and

you're like " Hey I'm at this building, can you drop me at my car?"

And they're like "Yeah, sure. We'll be there in 5 (minutes)".

>> Super helpful.

>> They really look after you.

>> They really do.

>> The way the students feel, the student is definitely the priority.

HFX Burger Week 2018 - My Halifax - Things To Do In Halifax, Nova Scotia - Duration: 6:50.

Good morning guys it's Adam Cooper here from My Halifax.

This week is one of my favourite weeks in Halifax or my favourite weeks to be in Halifax.

It's Burger Week!

So for those of you who don't know that burger week is, where have you been!?

It's been going on for 6 years.

It was started by The Coast Publishing who are the guys who run The Coast magazine which

is a local magazine here in Halifax.

It has done some outstanding work in our community in terms of supporting Feed Nova Scotia.

So basically for anyone who's new to Halifax and does not know what I'm talking about.

Burger Week is a festival or a kind of week long celebration of burgers right here in

the city.

This year we have over 120 restaurants involved.

I think it's 125.

They all have signature burgers that they put on and every time you buy a burger you actually

give money back to one of our local non-profits Feed Nova Scotia.

So these just aren't any burgers.

They are some of the most unique, best tasting, best looking burgers in the city.

SO they are divided into two categories: The $6 burger which is a special feature for Halifax

burger week.

Or the Feed Nova Scotia burgers.

Now those burgers are sometimes more than $6 but they come with a donation to Feed Nova

Scotia.

So whether you buy a $6 Burger or a Feed Nova Scotia burger, what you're really doing is

supporting charity on one hand and supporting the city on the other.Or just enjoying supporting

local in general.

But it's not all about the burgers.

So for every $2 Feed Nova Scotia get, they can actually give out 3 meals to a family.

Even though it doesn't sound like a lot of money, it actually makes a huge difference.

I know growing up as a kid for me, there were times when money was short or times were tough.

You know the economy changes and people lose their jobs that kind of stuff.

The one thing that always resonated with me or the one thing that I kind of knew that

money was tight was the food would change.

We would have more soups and stews and meals you could stretch.

For a lot of people in Halifax that need charities like Feed Nova Scotia, without their donation

and their help, they literally won't eat.

It may seem like, oh it's only $2, but that's going to make a hug difference to a family.

So that's one of the reasons why we at My Halifax have always loved the work that Feed

Nova Scotia have done and also why it's so cool what The Coast have actually done with

Burger Week.

We are a big believer in supporting local and they've managing to do that in two different

ways.

You've got them helping support and bring business in to 125 different restaurants while

at the same time giving back to an organization like Feed Nova Scotia.

If you're out and about looking for food, this week when burger week's running, you

can double down and help a local business and a local charity.

There's a ton of work by The Coast that goes into an event like this.

There's billboards everywhere, there's radio slots, there's even a giant inflatable burger

that if you find in the city because it's moved every day, you actually can win prizes.

You can win gift cards so you can go an participate in burger week and there's also a passport

prize where if you get 3 burgers from 3 different locations, you get your passport stamped and

you can win beer for a year.

That's the nice thing about this event is it doesn't really, I mean I call it a festival

cause I didn't know what else to call it but it feels like the entire city is in on this

and it's just a giant community that's about to flood downtown Halifax to come and eat

some burgers support local charity and everyone's talking about burger week.

It's like this huge energy around it.

I've seen people swapping maps to say these are where I've gone, this is where I recommend

we go.

It's nice to have an event that flows throughout Halifax and Dartmouth and just makes everyone

get so excited about being in Halifax.

That's a really cool thing to see.

For those of you who are like you're feeling excited and you're feeling like you want to

participate in burger week, I have 3 plans of attack that I think might help you out.

If you're a beginner, I recommend you look at the map, download it from The Coast Web

site which we'll link in the description below and then just read some of the burgers and

think I wanna try that and just get your feet wet by trying whether it's 3, 4, 5 or 7 different

burgers just so you can a feel for what kind of burger week is and then just you know ease

yourself into it.

I call this the Beginners Guide to Burger Week.

My second strategy is what I call the Feed Nova Scotia strategy.

It's where you go around and you basically just choose from the Feed Nova Scotia list.

If you can do all of the burgers, that's a lot of burgers.

That's also raises a lot of money too.

My final strategy which I'm going to call the Holy Grail cause I'm not sure if anyone

has actually done it and it might take a team.

Let's change that, let's call this the Burger Week Team Attack.

Get a couple of people, you might need a lot and attack the map.

You might divide it into streets, quadrants, whatever it is but try and do the entire burger

week.

In this case that's 125 burgers which is a lot of money to Feed Nova Scotia and that's

a lot of families you've been able to help and you know what else is?

That's a ton of fun.

So for last years video what we actually did was we picked 5 burgers and that year there

were 90 restaurants participating.

We reviewed all 5.

I didn't eat them on camera because I don't like eating on camera because my face gets

messy and it's just gross.

No one wants to hear me eat on camera. After we did that I then went and tried other burgers

because I was enjoying the burger week fun.

Then I remember I was like aww I should have reviewed more burgers.

That's why we took this approach we kind of explain the history of it because I think

it's really cool waht The Coast have done and what burger week has become.

You think about it a couple guys and girls got together, came up with the idea for burger

week and now it's this massive thing with 125 restaurants raising over hundred of thousands

of dollars for Feed Nova Scotia.

I think that's really cool to celebrate that.

With that being said, I do now have a favourite burger week burger which is the donair burger

from Johnny K's.

That's going to be my first burger that I'm going to start with and that's where we're

going to go right now!

So I hope you guys are enjoying burger week.

It runs until the 28th so you've still got plenty of time to go out there and enjoy some

of the best burgers that you're going to see right here in Halifax.

Congratulations to The Coast for another 6th year of doing burger week.

This week has been bigger then last year and I'm sure next year is going to be even bigger.

If you had a burger and you thought it was amazing, let me know in the comments below.

If there's anywhere else you think we should make a video, please let us know in the comments

below.

Thanks again for watching this video.

Please don't forget to Like, Comment, and Share this video and Subscribe to our YouTube

channel and we'll see you next week!

Although $2 or $5 or $10 doesn't sound like a lot of money.

For every $2 Feed Nova Scotia get, they can actually distribute, distribute, distribute?......

distribute....I'm saying that weird.

Secret of Mana Q&A #7 - Do I need to play any other Mana game? - Duration: 0:52.

DoI need to have played any other Mana game to enjoy Secret of Mana?

Secret of Mana is stand-alone, both story-wise and series-wise,

so there's nothing you need to do as a prerequisite to have fun playing it.

I am sure think people who've never played before can enjoy it as well.

However, for those who want to experience and appreciate the changes

there's a smartphone version - in 2D pixel art - of the original game.

If you play through that before playing the remake, it might make experiencing the changes we've made more fun.

You Can Do Anything. Has Someone Done it Before You? - Duration: 2:58.

Coming to you live from Grand Teton National Park check that out if that

doesn't motivate you and inspire you and make you want to do big things I don't

know what does and that's the point of today's master while Charles and I were

here we were watching some movies there's Teton Gravity Research a couple

of brothers actually three brothers that came here they skipped college started

filming and now they're just incredible cinematography and extreme athletes and

skiing and all sorts of craziness we watched the first movie called higher

and our minds were blown we couldn't believe that human beings do these sort

of things and the crazy risks and the endurance and the strength and we were

just like I can't even begin to tell you and then we watched miru em er you which

was about climbing you know even crazier things first a sense

going straight up sleeping in tents hanging on the side of a cliff with ice

and the thing is this no matter how difficult we try or we push ourselves or

whatever there's people that do it even more so find those people as inspiration

and then recognize it in your moment of like weakness or panic or whatever that

other people have done more and that helped me just recently I was skiing in

Jackson Hole yesterday in a new area had never really been there I was skiing

alone which isn't the safest or smartest thing in the world and I came across

these signs it said caution cliff area cliff area cliff area and at first you

know I am these areas all the time generally with other people but the fact

that I was alone gave me a little bit of pause and then I realized you know what

it's interesting what am I scared of somebody was here before and they

clearly marked the danger the caution and the cliff areas for me so I should

be reassured comforted as opposed to scared and not that I was panicked but I

was you know exercising extreme caution I realized like wow the guys in me Roo

it was the first descent they had never been there before nobody had ever done

that and just imagine the panic and the fear and for them exhilaration so what's

the moral the moral is push yourself get out of your comfort zone find

inspiration somebody who's done it better faster cheaper quicker you know

more extreme whatever but go do it and I felt so alive and I was so thrilled and

it was the best run I'd had yesterday so guess what I did I did

another time and now I know that area in that terrain and I'm not at all

concerned and it was great skiing so I hope you found this interesting please

go ahead and give it a thumbs up liked it if you haven't subscribed to the

YouTube channel I highly recommend you do and I would really appreciate it and

we are fighting a nor'easter in New York City our first flight was canceled

Charles and I are rerouted we're going to Denver then we're back to New York so

we're gonna hit the road jack see you soon have a great day happy

hosting

Oops! Messed up this video. DO NOT PUBLISH!!! - Duration: 2:50.

Have you ev-

Oh, wait.

What's happening?

Hold on just a second.

Have you ever spent a lot of money on a video,

and it ended up only getting about half the conversion

you felt it deserved?

Well, you may only be getting half an ad.

You may only be getting half an ROI,

because if you're only paying for video production,

but not the marketing that gets the video seen,

then it's really only half a plan.

My name is Dane Golden.

I run a company called HEY.com.

We help businesses like yours do video content marketing,

which means we help the videos get seen in an organic way.

We also do paid video, but it's a smaller component,

because we feel that most paid campaigns are done wrong,

meaning a lot of money gets wasted

just trying to get view counts

when it's not really engagement or conversion.

So we help you from the ground up with a strategy

that really corresponds to how YouTube works.

We also do video for Facebook and Instagram,

but again, we don't do the video production.

Clearly, I know nothing about video production.

I'm using a webcam.

I've got a plaid shirt on.

Nobody who knows video would ever do that.

But what we do understand is the guts of YouTube,

what goes on under the hood,

how to get those analytics working in your favor,

how to get the algorithm working in your favor.

You've already got a good video production team.

I don't want to interfere with that in any way,

but do they really understand how YouTube works,

and what gets views?

Not just something funny.

Not just something that's beautiful,

but understanding how the platform works,

because YouTube is as different from television

as it is from Facebook.

It's not the same as just putting up a commercial

and paying people to watch it.

Going after reach usually isn't the best approach

unless you've got a lot of other things going on.

That's really my only pitch to you is that

I want to give you the full reach of what your video,

what your brand deserves on YouTube.

So we work with in-house video production companies.

We work with your existing video production team,

wherever they are,

and help these get authentic, engaging views

that will drive business for you.

That's the whole goal, right?

That's why we're doing this.

So you can email me: help@HEY.com.

It goes right to my inbox.

I will respond personally.

If you want to talk, let's talk.

Thank you.
