hashtag strategy is the ideal customer like for everything in marketing I mean
like for the marketing itself you have to think about your ideal customer first
thing first is your ideal customer on Instagram if yes what is your ideal
customer interested in and I'm not talking about Instagram itself but what
is the ideal customer interested in about your business about what you sell
one thing that your ideal customer is certainly interested in is the final
result what's in it for them and your hashtags should be focused on what the
ideal customer is interested in because the hashtags will be used by the
algorithm to suggest your picture to other users to new users so if you do
that correctly you're gonna get new customers your hashtags should be
relevant to the picture since your hashtags should be relevant to the
customer the ideal customer and your hashtags should be relevant to the
picture guess what your picture should be relevant to the ideal customer
meaning that it's going to show what the ideal customer will want you want to
give you idea customers the experience that they will get and so you wanna give
them a visual experience of what's the result that they're gonna get with your
picture and you wanna tell them with your description and your hashtags so
your hashtags should describe what the final result is not the name of the
product that you're selling and last thing you have to take care of while
preparing your Instagram hashtag strategy is being focused
not only the algorithm we'll be able to tell if the hashtags are
relevant to the picture but is of course able to count them maybe you've heard
from someone also here on YouTube telling you that you should add like 60
hashtags in the text of the post and also in the first comment and that's so
not a good idea to maximize your marketing efforts I want you to use this
thing right you do not want to use more than five hashtags and you want those
five hashtags to be freaking focused I mean seriously
relevant to the picture you do not want to stuff in like the city or in unless
your business is about the city oh and of course probably if you're a
restaurant you want to take a picture of one of your dishes if it's fish you want
hashtag fish if it's grilled you want hashtag grilled and maybe you want to
create the hashtag of the name of the dish the last one could be like hashtag so
freakin tasty that kind of stuff and here comes the ultimate secret the
algorithm will show your picture to the 10% of your followers so it means that
if you have like 100 followers 10 people will see that post
if those 10 people are engaged with your picture the algorithm will let that
picture be seen by more people more followers and if more followers are
engaged with a picture they will start showing it to other people so one thing
you want is to engage people and right now the Instagram algorithm considers
engagement not the heart not the emoji in the comments but for word comment if
the comment is less than 4 words it's not engagement and so the ultimate secret is
to make people write those four words thing is that if you ask people please
leave a comment in with four words people will you want to persuade people
to write four words to make it like a challenge

people to write four things so you have to be clever with that and so this is

How Are Advertising Trends Changing on Facebook and Instagram? Social Media Minute - Duration: 2:44.
Hi, I'm Jan Rezab this is Social Media Minute.
Changes in social media and social media landscape still can blow my mind.
One thing that we came across using Socialbakers data quite recently
is the shift between Facebook and Instagram.
We've looked at ad accounts
that advertise both on Facebook and Instagram
and year-on-year from advertising 10% of placements
on Instagram versus Facebook,
it went from 25% to 40%.
Now this is a multi-billion dollar shift
and probably one of the biggest social advertising shifts
since Facebook started advertising.
Generally, the shift from Facebook to Instagram
is not only a marketing shift of dollars and ad placements.
But it is a user shift.
Users are spending more and more time on Instagram.
Users are spending more time with their stories.
So we also pulled some stories data and this is really interesting.
We expected users to be using it a little bit more
but an average for brand profiles...
The stories have a 5% to 8% reach and impressions,
while the posts are around 30%.
You can see a big difference there still.
But stories are used as a sort of an organic booster
and we looked at the best companies who use stories,
they actually had between 25% and 35%.
A number equivalent to their posts
and they would have had more impressions through their stories
than they would through their posts.
Of course, that shows that if you master a format,
a new one like stories, you always get great benefits from it.
I think if you're a smart data-driven marketer at this point
and you're looking at Instagram versus Facebook,
you're not making the immediate conclusion and go all-in on Instagram
or stay on Facebook and just experiment on Instagram.
You need to do both.
You need to evaluate the data side by side.
Also for the stories, which is just an organic upside
but mostly for your paid campaigns,
understand what they're bringing.
We know Instagram is a more engaging medium
for the reach you get, logically.
But don't get swayed by that engagement.
Use data and numbers for both platforms
to understand what's going on, to understand what to do going forward.
That doesn't mean look at the data every six months.
You have to look at Instagram versus Facebook every couple of weeks.
