Is "Urduja" the Next Filipina Disney Princess? - Duration: 6:49.

Disney cartoons have been around for years and years.

In fact, the first Disney movie, Snow White was introduced in 1937!

In those 80+ years, we've had several Disney princesses and just recently have we started

to see diversity in these characters!

In 1992, we are introduced to the first non-white Disney Princess, Jasmine.

In 1995, we later get Pocahontas, then in 1998 Mulan

and in 2009, Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog."

With that said, I still feel like Disney is lacking in its representation of more ethnic princess characters.

I mean, just imagine what a Filipina Disney princess would look like!

This brings me to Urduja, the Philippines' answer to ever having a Pinay princess.

And no, I am not talking about the hurricane!

Quick shout out to Gio Star Master who requested that I make this video, by the way!

In 2008, APT Entertainment produced and released an animated film that was adapted around the

legendary warrior princess Urduja of Pangasinan.

Although this movie was produced in the Philippines, there could be a possibility for Disney studios

to pick up the film and readapt it or remake it into their own.

After all, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and Sleeping Beauty's stories originated

from Europe and Mulan's from China.

What's to stop Disney from adapting "Urduja" also?

In this video, I will be analyzing Urduja as a whole, seeing how she compares to the

princesses we all know and love.

And before we proceed, there may be some spoilers so please be advised.

With that said, let's look at the different aspects of Urduja and the film and see if

she would be a good fit to be a part of the Disney Princesses club.

The movie is set in the 13th century, and tells the tale of Urduja, who's father the

chief of the tribe, has fallen ill.

Simakwel, an ambitious young warrior, seeks to gain the chiefdom by marrying the headstrong

princess.

But his plan encounters a hurdle when the dashing Chinese pirate Lim Hang arrives on

their shores and saves Urduja from an arrow.

Lim Hang and Urduja begin to play out a forbidden love, while Simakwel schemes to take back

what he feels is his rightful place.

Already, you have those Disney elements in place.

The plot is reminiscent of Pocahontas who is expected to marry within her tribe but

falls in love with a foreigner different than her.

Actually it seems like a lot of Disney movies are like that but I digress.

All in all, she seems to resemble your stereotypical Disney princess plot so at least she has that

going for her.

"Urduja" even features your typical animal sidekicks!

You can't have a Disney princess without your typical animal sidekick!

As far as historical accuracy, I am pretty sure the plot was Disney-fied for a younger

audience, adding in a love interest who probably did not exist when Urduja was still alive.

It's ironic too because according to historians, Urduja was known to have said that she will

marry no man except one who can defeat her in a duel.

The opposite love interest, Simakwel represents the usual antagonist trope like Hans from

Frozen or Kocoum from Pocahontas.

He's pretty much a bad guy who is only looking out for his own interests.

And then you have Lim Hang, the typical love interest.

Honestly, there's not much to say because the concept of these characters are pretty

much copied and pasted from every Disney movie we have seen throughout the years.

The animation of the movie is very reminiscent of 90s Disney animation rather than the more

modern 3D animation we've seen with hits like Tangled or Frozen.

Urduja herself is very beautiful and stunning, but aren't all the Disney princesses like

that?

She's very headstrong and caring in the movie as well.

I would have liked to see her portrayed more as a warrior or more badass than she is in

this film going based on what I've read of her historically.

I know it is a children's film but her looks and characteristics are just too generic to me.

In the film she is voiced by Asia's songbird Regine Velasquez.

No doubt she is talented and is a great pick to voice Urduja.

She even has her own song in the movie entitled "Babae Ako" or "I am a Woman" in English.

I know Lea Salonga has voiced many Disney princesses in the past including Jasmine and

Mulan, so I am actually quite happy they decided to pick another Filipina to be distinguished.

I don't know how fluent Regine Velasquez is in English compared to Lea Salonga, but

if Disney were to release this movie to an international audience, I would hope that

they do not pick Lea Salonga as the voice actress for the reasons I've mentioned.

No hate towards Lea, but we gotta change it up a bit because Urduja can't look like

Pocahontas and sound like Mulan.

She needs to be her own person!

Overall, I would love to see Urduja be adapted into a Disney film one day.

She has all the different elements for a great movie.

There are a few things about her I would tweak like not making her into a Pocahontas clone.

From the whole being the chief's daughter, falling in love with a foreigner and being

forced to marry someone within her tribe, it's a storyline that has been done already.

Maybe don't give her a love interest and focus more on the aspect of family and relationships

of those in her tribe.

work a boring job you can you know create your own future design your own

future by the becoming big on social media and you don't even have to use

social media but obviously this video is about high-gain that many followers and

that short amount of time so we're gonna stick to social media in this video and

so but like I said you'd only have to go social media so many different ways to

monetize using the internet and you know the ability just to reach anyone on

planet Earth pretty much who has it in turn who has an internet connection so

as I explained briefly in in the beginning of the video the other channel

I have has 360,000 followers and it's not English it's in Spanish I'm

bilingual so I speak English and Spanish I actually try to learn French but it

didn't go so well actually learned it but then I stopped using it

so if you don't use it you tend to lose it or at least kind of forget it what's

happened with French but anyways looking around the Spanish content you know the

YouTube videos I saw that not many people were making videos in the way I

wanted to make them so I have to go viral pretty fast and it's what happened

so essentially what I did I took the viral concept to the Spanish market I

was one of the first people to do this so as you can imagine what see people

see something new there they're instantly you know engaged they're

curious and I was able to bring something new first and by bringing

something new first a lot of people came to the channel and video started gaining

a lot of views a lot of traction so literally I would upload a video and

within one hour I was having so much traction at one

point that it would hit like 30,000 40,000 50,000 even 60,000 views within

an hour within 48 hours YouTube has a graph of how many views you gain in last

48 hours this thing got above a million so I was getting like 500,000 views a

day what do you think about is pretty crazy so when they saw something new

they tend to share it you know just two shares more shares kind of snowball

effect and it would just go viral to the point where I also was ending up on the

trending page if you ever get a video to the trending page you're gonna see a

huge influx of views and to your channel because if they watch one video they

might be interested if they like you and go watch other videos that you also have

not only you're gonna see a bunch more view 3 you also see a lot more

subscribers hitting your channel because you're on the trending page of YouTube

and as you can imagine a lot of you were born with the trending page and from

there they're going to watch the videos that are on there so one way of getting

to the trending page it may sound kind of simple but you're gonna need to make

a video it doesn't need to be the highest quality video just a video

that's a new concept so you get a lot of engagement on that video the more

engagement or the higher the watch time of your video the more YouTube likes

that video is gonna push your video why do you ask because obviously any social

media platform is gonna want people to stay on it the more people are staying

on it the more money at the end of the day that social media platform can make

so that's why I see a lot people failing in YouTube because they oftentimes just

try to put you know they don't put much effort in their videos. They are very low

quality and you don't have to have the greatest camera I mean a lot of phones

can film very high quality stuff I know my iPhone if I put it in landscape mode

films very good videos and dealing with my iphone and upload to

youtube it'll look pretty good but you know taking the time to you know edit

the video take good shot just a bunch of different things but overall just making

the video and the concept good so just to kind of go over what I said number

one make sure your video is you know a little bit longer so more people can

watch it longer increasing the watch time and in order to increase the watch

time you're gonna need to make the video interesting make people like be on the

edge of their seats like this so on the edge of their seats they want to see

what happens like for instance if you're watching a horror movie and something

Crazy is about to happen you're you know you're attentive you're watching the

movie because you want to see what happens next so kind of like you

obviously your videos may not be a horror type of video but you know make

people want to watch people continue to watch maybe you say jokes in your videos

or just come up with a creative concept on your own you know creativity is key

to make people continually watch your videos gaining more watch time and

number two kind of goes along with number one but just be creative

introduce new concepts and even if it's been done before maybe you put a unique

spin on it so if someone has done a challenge maybe maybe you can add a

unique spin on that challenge and overall just you know make sure the

video is quality like I said with number one quality content increased watch time

whatever but just creativity I think is very key a lot of videos go viral

because no one ever no one has ever done them before it's a brand new concept and

so people were like wow this is insane I'm gonna subscribe to this person so

these are just very simple ways that I grew 135,000 I think around 135 thousand

followers and one month again this is not a very detailed you know tutorial or

this is what you need to do YouTube there's actually an algorithm behind you

know any social media platform that helps you will find whatever they're

searching for without an algorithm you know social media platform cannot exist

so that's why you need to understand you know how the algorithm works how people

are found what really increases watch time

what kind of thumbnails you should use you know how to be found better so

there's just so many different types of strategies you can use branding

techniques and things of that nature which is actually one of the things my

business does actually help people of social media you know sometimes I get

payments or like five hundred six hundred thousand dollars to help people

with their social media their branding you know increase their online exposure

but like I said in the future maybe I come up with a more detailed tutorial

and really hot on YouTube but like I said doesn't

necessarily have to be on YouTube you can do Facebook Twitter Instagram

whatever it is that you'd like more whatever easy whatever is easier and

I know and I'm gonna tell you today whether or not you should buy a Nintendo switch, and hopefully guide your buying decisions

Let's figure out if the switch is for you the short answer is yes

Everyone on planet Earth should have the blessing of the Nintendo switch after 10 months

It's got sports games RPGs shooters puzzlers

platformers Nintendo amazing games like Zelda and Super Mario and

Mario Kart and arms and

Pokken and oh my gosh. There's so much for this thing already

Seriously, it has everything

But there are a few things a switch does that is differing than other

Consoles that may make it better for you and some things that other consoles do that may make them a better choice

The first choice for the switch that I want to talk about is

Portability because this is one of the biggest aspects of the Nintendo switch well

It is a home console and you can play it on your TV most people play it on the go

Or they just say I want to go to bed, but I don't want to go to sleep

I'm gonna play my switch in bed, and it's a huge thing and for me. That's wide antennas

Which is my favorite console?

Is that portability aspect when I'm sitting at home?

And I'm playing Zelda on my TV or recording a video for the channel

And I could just pop it out and walk to work playing that same game right where I left off get to work sit on

My work and play it play it all day bring it back home drop it back in the thing and be right back on TV

It's magic

It's literally magic the fact that I can have doom

Skyrim Super Mario Odyssey Zelda Mario Kart all this anywhere I go. It's absolutely insane

So the portability aspect is one of those things that I think is very valuable because for for a long time

Handheld and console always had to be significantly different

Handhelds could never keep up with the power of a console you had an Xbox 360 game

and you had a Nintendo DS game that was it that was the way it was now it can be both and

For most people it's not something. They know they want until they have the switch, and then you realize this is incredible

I my mom calls me down for dinner, and I pop it up, and I'm going down to dinner with my switch

And my I'm don't live with my mom

I live with my wife

So that's not my case scenario with someone else is I'm just saying it's incredible if you have any use case where you travel

Where you play in bed where you go to work? Where you go to school? It's worth it so basically

It's worth it for everyone because the portability is incredible you play to work you come home you drop into your TV

And you're playing with your friends or your family like what it's just

Amazing and then what this thing can do and that it could be games like doom and Skyrim Wolfenstein coming

2018 and a bunch of bigger games like a Pokemon console game, that's gonna be consequent on the go

Done, it's just so amazing and here is where the benefits of other consoles come in with the switch

And that's because it has to sacrifice something for all that portability and that's power

The switch is weaker than the ps4 and Xbox one the regular version

It's not the souped-up versions this console is never gonna play 4k

It's just not gonna happen a screen isn't even possible to do that so 1080p screen

But some games can't even hit 1080p however because of the portability aspect games on the switch run and look amazing

Most games are optimized and the ones that aren't are found out very quickly

WWE 2k 18 doesn't get away with the fact that is a

Completely broken and unplayable port it doesn't people will chastise and no one buys it

It's so quick people are on those games immediately so no one gets screwed over into buying those games

But for the most part it runs things well however if you're someone who's in the graphics if you always want 60 frames per second

The switch isn't probably for you get an Xbox 1x or ps4 Pro where you can do 4k

60 frames per second in a lot of games I have an Xbox one X right now

And that's where I play those games that I need amazing graphics in and I just want super beautiful

But for something like Skyrim or do more even Wolfenstein 2 some of these games that I don't super care about the graphics

I'm gonna play them on my switch when I want to see shadow of war and 4k

Xbox one X is where it's gonna be at but you know that's just the decision you have to make

Do you want power as power what matters to you the most or?

Are you okay with the Portability and sacrificing a little bit of power because for me?

I am I playing doom 60 frames-per-second 1080p

Or even 4k on my TV screen is awesome putting doom in bed or in the our is cooler

It's just a fact even though. It's not as nice of an addition

I think it's the best edition of the game because of that so that's something to consider as well

Just give an example of the quality of the games do man Skyrim both had to be put back to 30fps

To be able to run well on the switch however

There's stable 30fps, and it doesn't change the gameplay that much

Yeah, doom runs differently when it's not super speeding around at 60 frames per second

But it's still just as fast and on that smaller screen

It doesn't feel like it's a big difference

So I would say that those trade-offs are fair because they still run really well and stable at those frame rates

And it makes sense on the system what I love

1080p 60fps ultra

Settings doom on the switch of course I would but that doesn't make it something not worth getting just because it's not at those settings

But power is something to consider when you buy a system

and

If that really turns you off and you want to play all your games and to be able to know that the games that keep

Coming out are gonna. Be able to play super

Well the switch probably isn't for you, but the Nintendo switch games man the Nintendo switch games

It's a breath of the wild which got multiple Game of the Year awards it got multiple ten out of ten

Mostly ten out of ten actually same with Super Mario Odyssey, it's got Mario Kart. It's got FIFA. It's got doom

It's got Skyrim. It's got. LA noire. It's got NBA 2k 18

It's got Xenoblade Chronicles - it's got splatoon - the list goes on and on third parties amazing Nintendo games

Whatever it is this thing has got it and the lineup for 2018 even looks incredible

That is one of the biggest selling points of the Nintendo switch is it's already got hundreds of games on the eShop after only ten

months which is

Unseen or unheard of in a Nintendo console before it's got some of the best, Nintendo

Games ever created on it already in ten months

It's got huge ports like Skyrim and doom in NBA in FIFA that are great already after ten months

What does that say this consoles got an amazing future in front of it and even if it doesn't have the most power?

Its able to play some of these amazing games with pretty good graphics and running staple

Consistently so you don't have to worry about not getting any of these new ports Wolfenstein 2

Which released at the end of two 17 is gonna be coming out on the switch steep?

Which is an incredible huge game is coming out on the switch?

That's just the beginning of it where you have no idea what these optimized amazing games are gonna

look like especially as antenna continues to open up the framework and helps people get in more and more and if they eventually develop an

Excel version which is a bit stronger and bigger whatever it is this console has so much stuff on it already

We've got Yoshi Kirby Metroid Prime Fire Emblem and a ton more coming out in 2018 from Nintendo

They're not gonna quit

They're going hardcore on the switch right now

So that is a huge selling point of this console is that yes the Xbox Emma ps4 do have big libraries

But the switch off of 10-month already has a massive library of games. That's growing

Exponentially, and it's amazing to see you do not have to worry about not having the games you want to play on the Nintendo switch

Now if you like one type of game you're a Halo fan

That's all you play you want an Xbox Call of Duty is not on the switch yet

Will it be in the future possibly, but right now the Nintendo switch has so many games

And I'm sure no matter what type of gamer you are you could find games that you'll love on a Nintendo switch the last thing

You should truly consider if you're wondering if you should buy a Nintendo switch is

What the peeps you have are playing on are all your friends putting on ps4 on Xbox one?

Maybe this isn't the console for you

But if you don't care about that who cares

Get me antenna switch who cares on any of them one and you know what maybe you should get a Nintendo switch and convert all

Your friends and be the first one that made them all come to the switch

But the real knowing where all your friends are me your family are and what they are playing on is gonna be important to you

If you want to play with them

And they all have ps4 s already either you're gonna convert them all to Nintendo switch you get them all to buy them so you

So, many of you said that I should make a clutch case opening video.. well..

It did go pretty well..

CSGOMagic teamed up with me and made everything possible.

To begin with, let's release the tension.

Yes, this was my best item to unbox.

M4A4 Neo-Noir.

No gloves.. even though I unboxed more than 450 cases.

These were my results in numbers.

452 cases opened, 369 blues, 63 purples, 18 pinks, 2 reds and 0 yellows.

I made a pie chart to illustrate this.

As you can see from my graph, more than 81% of the times I opened blue skin.

But somehow I managed to open 2 reds.

You can see the really thin red line here.

Another red I unboxed was MP7 Bloodsport, by the way, it was battle-scarred and was

worth around 7 euros.

I guess this concludes my luck with the clutch cases pretty well.

Although, I really wanted to unbox early gloves from the clutch case, I didn't get them.

So, is it worth to open CS:GO cases, in my context, clutch cases?

We have to look back in time, as all the csgo cases have the same odds for blues, purples,

pinks, reds and the special items.

Some people have been opening a lot of cases and gathered a lot of info from the CS:GO

case openings.. let's have a closer look at Rock's Case investigation info, as he has

gathered info from almost 52 000 case openings.

Big shoutout to Rock, I will leave link about his public data about case openings in the

video description.

By the way, all the big number investigations actually show almost the same odds.

So, as you can see 79,8% of a chance to get yourself a blue skin.

16,1% to get purple, 3,1% to get pink, 0,6% to get red and 0,2% to get a yellow rare item.

It's actually pretty similar to my data with 450 cases opened.

It means that in my case it was 0,2% of a chance for me to actually unbox gloves.

Pretty unreal.

Let me illustrate this with a graph.

Look at this yellow part, this is the possibility to get a rare item out from the case opening.

Imagine some arrow landing on this part.

Real mission impossible.

Even the red item looks really rare from here.

0.6% chance to get a red out from the case.

I managed to do it twice so I am actually happy about that.. for now.

This info makes the rare items even more valuable in my eyes, it's so damn hard to unbox them.

Yes, I have been lucky once when I unboxed Hydra gloves with my second case, but now

I realized.. how impossible it actually was to get the gloves with the second case, as

I now opened 450 of them and got nothing.

Congratulations to everyone who have managed to get something good out of the clutch case.

I will maybe try again in the future, but right now I am just fascinated with the fact

how hard it actually is to get the gloves.

And if we are talking about StatTrak rare item..

Knives.. as no one has not been lucky enough to unbox StatTrak gloves.. yet.. then it is

1 of 10 chance that your freshly unboxed knife is a StatTrak knife.

Wow.

This chance is very very low.

So is it worth to open clutch cases.

My short answer for you is definitely no, especially when the new case comes out, they

are pretty high priced and you are risking, even more, when you are opening those.

If the price gets lower and more reasonable.. then make your own choice as you now know

what are the odds to actually get something good.

Although, I really love this case, because there are

plenty of cool pairs of gloves that you can unbox and.. the odds for the cases are the

same, so if you are asking me right now.. these gloves what you could get are more expensive

than most of the knives you could unbox, so in my opinion it's one of the best cases

right now to try to unbox.

Because if you get the gloves.. there is a great chance that they are more expensive

than your possible unboxed knife.

But there are always exceptions, you never know.

By the way, one fun fact from the Rock's Case Investigation.. longest spree without a knife

was 2200+ cases.

So, when I opened 450 cases.. glad I stopped because I could go 2000+ cases without a pair

of gloves as well.

You never know how unlucky you could be.

Although Rock's data shows average 425 cases till the rare item.. maybe I should try to

open 10 more cases?

Once again, our nation has been plunged into mourning

The evil Irishman gave him a small box, before instructing him to hide it in a coffin.

When Jay left, Keanu got to work and slipped the mystery box in the coffin.
