beaner which we know is the term a lot of
gringos use, a lot of American use in a negative way towards Mexicans I'm
interested in seeing what this song is about what the
meaning is and what they're saying about the term
all right I have a lot to say. I think first off let's get this out of the way
it's interesting that he rapped in English as
well which made it cool for me too so I can understand although I could
understand some of the Spanish as well in the song but alright where do I begin
the lyrics as many of you already know he's speaking to
Gringo's.. Americans, foreign Americans who are racist against
Mexicans. you know the typical as he said I think he said somewhere like an
old-school gringo, like the typical old-school American who kind of has this
pride in his Americanism to a point to where he doesn't like foreigners he
thinks that all Mexicans are illegals who are coming here to take all our jobs
and destroy the country and this and that
this song attacks that, it attacks those type of people and brings the
commentary of look at it from from our perspective. this is
the conflict between between the two that's kind of what I want to
talk about. I'm glad now that I heard this song
it's interesting what I do with this on on YouTube because somebody on
Instagram, shout out JenItzza Cázares, shout out to her
go check out her YouTube page as well I'll leave a link down below, but shout
out to her because we were speaking on on Instagram and she said she loved
what I do because the way to heal racism is to understand each other's cultures
the way to heal prejudice and all that is to understand each other's
cultures and this song kind of tackles that because it's like...oh man I have
much to say I apologize, it's like the movie... if you've seen the movie
"Desierto" which is starring a Gael Garcia Bernal and Jeffrey Dean Morgan
it's directed by Alfonso Cuaron,, I believe his son Jonas Cuaron and it's
a movie about some Mexicans who are trying to cross the border illegally
into the United States and there's one guy Jeffrey Dean Morgan who was this
wild crazy fanatic radical who wants to
protect what he feels is his home and he goes out and he
killed... it's a disturbing movie to watch, it's a hard movie to watch because
he's going out and just killing a lot of people a lot of Mexicans
who are trying to cross the border and they're trying to run away from him and
escape and so on and so forth. what I think is the problem
especially from an American standpoint is that a lot of people don't understand
that we're all human beings. really this world is ours really there
should be no borders whatsoever because the earth is everbody's home
there shouldn't be any borders you shouldn't not be allowed to cross into this
country or that country because you're not born in the country. to make a person
seem like or to perpetuate the idea that a person is bad or that they're villains
for coming across into the board of the United States just to make a better life
for themselves or for their family back home in whatever country
they live in is just totally wrong and just totally unacceptable unacceptable
that just goes totally against the laws of the universe and the laws of nature
from birth we all have the right to live as great a life as we need to live as
long as we are not imposing on the comfort of others or harming others
whatever we have to do in order to achieve this
freedom in order to achieve happiness we should have the right to do there's a
lot of assholes in America who feel like Mexicans are taking jobs Mexicans are
coming over here and and just being violent at being this and being that
that's, that's totally totally wrong it's totally totally wrong
the majority of Mexicans will come over here are good hearted people people that
are just trying to better their lives for themselves and their family and if
we took the time to actually look at their perspective not just
Mexicans but foreigners in general look at they're perspective instead of sitting on our high horse
as they said, taking our soil for granted sitting on our high horse
like "we're just the best and all you just want to come here and take
a piece of it" if we really sat back and actually had a conversation we'd realize
that these are people just like us.. maybe you'd think to do what you can to make
it better, so that instead of building up these walls or whatever you want to do let's
figure out ways to where we can have people come into this country and enjoy
life and really there are ways now but even further make ways to where people
can come into this country make the money that they need to make helped out
us out improve our economy as well in America
and then go back to their country and better themselves because when everybody
is better as a collective or when everybody is better individually we all
end up better as a collective I don't know it's hard for me to relate because
I don't I don't know what's in the minds of somebody that was standing at the
border and I don't know what they've been through in life that
makes them want to turn people into to immigration or like in desierto
kill people and do stuff like that I don't know what's going on in the mind
of a person like that so it's hard for me to relate to that but we have got to
love, we have got to love all people this it makes no sense we got to understand each
other's cultures the more understanding we have the more conversations we have
the more we try and educate each other educate ourselves and educate each other
on our languages on our practices on our food and this and that
the better this world is gonna be II'm sorry but this
made me think about... I just don't understand I don't understand because
you know I guess being a minority in America maybe my perspective is
different because we kind of feel like we're in the same kind of battle with
Latinos at least on the East Coast I know a certain other parts of
the country blacks and Latinos don't mix as well but on the East Coast we mix
very well and we feel like we're kind of in the same struggle sort of and that
there are people out there, obviously I'm just in front of a camera
but there's a whole lot of people out there that feel the same way I do
and that love and respect other cultures and understand why people come into this
country understand and treat people with respect, when you treat people with
respect you'll get that respect back and this song Frijolero,
it sparks a big conversation.. I wasn't
prepared to have this conversation on camera because we usually just keep it
a party, I don't mean to get too serious with you I'm sorry but
I wasn't ready so I'm trying to get my thoughts together exactly so you can
understand exactly how I feel and what I want to say but I just want to
say sorry to all the Mexicans out there who have been
slighted who I've been hurt put through pain who have been put through
pain and tragedy trying to cross into our country even if you were trying to cross
illegally I don't care, I'm just sorry for the pain that you may have had
to feel at the hands of an American who is ignorant and has no
compassion and no empathy and just sees you as somebody who's trying to
take from what's his when all you're trying to do is just get your
piece to better your life and better the life for your families
it makes no sense why they would feel like... it makes no sense to me why they
feel that way but I'm sorry that they do and I'm sorry that stuff like this
happens because I understand how it feels to be treated as
less than a human which is basically what those people are doing to my
Mexican brothers and sisters... there's a lot more than I wish I could say
