Hi everyone and welcome to another edition

of Homebuyer's School.

Today I'm joined by Eddie D'ambrosio

a real estate agent with Remax Elite

and today the question we're gonna answer is

how much does it cost to own and maintain a home?

So Eddie, let's say I just purchased a home,

whether new or resale,

what are some things I need to know in terms of

maintaining that home?

- Yeah so, well home maintenance is definitely

important to consider. - Mhm.

- I think the obvious is, you know,

when you're considering the cost of ownership of a home is

the mortgage.

I think that's the big one that comes up

and then, you know, you also wanna remember things like

property taxes are gonna play into

your overall cost of ownership there.

And then with regards to monthly maintenance,

of course you have to add in your utilities,

like heat and power, water.

Home insurance is another cost

that gets added into home ownership.

And then just maintaining the home.

So keeping in mind a small budget to put away for

maybe saving for future repairs.

Like, maybe replacing roofing or you know,

renovations to the property.

If you're purchasing a condo style property

then you may want to consider the condo fee

that's going in. - Okay.

What are some of your suggestions

in terms of things that we would need to upgrade

or renovate, you know, from the time I purchase a home?

Like, are we talking about the decks?

Are we talking about landscaping around it?

What are some key things that, you know,

for either future resale

or just good home maintenance upkeep,

what are some things you would

consider renovating or upgrading?

- Yeah so, I mean,

if you're purchasing a new property I guess.

We'll go with that one first.

If you're purchasing a new property then

it's really important to know from the beginning

if that property comes with things like

landscaping, a deck, does it come with appliances?

'Cause some builders will include those items

and some builders don't.

So they may be needed sooner rather than later.

If you're buying a property that's, you know,

let's say it's listed on the market,

a used home. - Yep.

- Well these homes sometimes,

they usually have all of those things

and then the big question that comes up

is really just condition.

What sort of condition are those items in?

And so yeah, it's always great to keep up with things

like refinishing a deck surface,

and maintaining the landscaping of your home.

Two of the biggest renovation projects

I think everyone's aware of is always

the kitchen and the bathroom.

It just comes up all the time.

People are wanting to improve those two things

in their home as well.

- Is, and obviously a kitchen and bathrooms

significantly improve the resale value of homes?

- Yeah absolutely.

I think, we just see that time and time again

with buyer clients that are going through properties

is that there's such a focus on those two areas of the home

because maybe there's a little bit more time spent there

and they really do impact the overall

look and feel of a property in the biggest way.

- So it's mostly just time, like so,

people spend time in the bathrooms.

People spend time in their kitchens

so obviously that's kinda why you wanna upgrade.

Any other reasons to really upgrade

or maintain those things?

Or is it just because,

just because they're spending time there,

they're being used a lot?

- Yeah, because they're being used a lot.

It's where you spend your time

and it's just such a point of pride.

It's such a focal point of your home

so you know, putting your best foot forward

in terms of whether you're getting ready to sell

or if it's just, you know, for you to enjoy the home

and enjoy living there.

I think those two, those two points just,

those two rooms become, you know,

such an important feature.

- So do you have any other advice

in terms of cost to own and maintain a home?

- Yeah, so I guess here's some good advice

that would be, you know,

keep up with the maintenance of your property.

If you own a home and you take really good care

of that property.

You change filters and keep it clean

and replace things just before they break,

what happens is your maintenance costs

go down substantially.

And then what you also do is

you improve your property value over the years

that you own that home as well.

- Awesome.

Well thank you very much Eddie.

Thank you very much for joining us

What we got for Christmas! - Duration: 4:00.

what are we doing today Taylor well my friends that were saying that treated us

to a overnight stay at their friend's Airbnb to take a look around

today's a special day for Taylor and I because not only are we staying at this

beautiful property with this amazing view and our own little place to stay

for the night but it's kind of nearing the end of this long trip that we've

been on we've been traveling for the last almost 11 months and tomorrow we're

planning on going to pick up chief so Chiefs not with us today staying with

Eric and Ashley and they gave us a stay here for a night as a Christmas gift and

so tomorrow we'll go get chief we'll stay one more night with Eric and Ashley

and then we will head back to our home base where we started this journey and

so we're at this point where we're getting to the end of our trip and we're

changing the season that our family is going to be in we're not exactly sure on

what's next but what's important to us is that we take time to stop and be

still and to think about what has been and what is now and what is possibly to

come we have had one thing after another on this trip and we really haven't taken

time to process everything we've had you know a ton of people ask us like what's

been the best experience what's been the worst experience and it's hard for us to

answer because has just been constant you know when you go on vacation you go

for like a week and then you can come home and kind of process the whole trip

and then you know you tell people the highlights and for us we really haven't

been able to process this whole 11 months and so we're gonna take a little

fast from Media and just from our phones and

everything and just spend some time being together being still being quiet

and working through what the next season of our life might look like and start

making some plans and we'll see what happens we don't know for sure what's

gonna happen just like we haven't really known for sure on this whole trip but

sitting in that unknown is a good place to be and taking time to be still is

even better because there's a lot of worry that can come in a lot of fear

that can come in when you don't know what's going to happen next and it's

just been great to be able to put those worries and fear aside and to just be

still and enjoy the present moment and so that's why today is a special day for

Taylor and I we're gonna enjoy this stay here it's a real small little house but

it's really nice and so thank you Eric and actually again so much and that's

our video for today hopefully you're doing well if you are new push the

subscribe button all the way in and click the bell so you get notified when

we post new videos and we're just excited for you guys to be along the

journey with us and to see what this next season brings I'm gonna continue to

post the video every day until the end of this year and then 2019 it'll be a

different upload schedule so we know we're gonna have to x' days with taylor

and then i'll probably do a couple other videos per week that's my plan right now

but we'll hold it loosely and see what happens

hats off to you

How to say Zhiyun... What does it mean? - Duration: 2:28.

If you clicked on this video, you probably know what this is.

It's a gimbal... it's a crane...

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!

Yes, it's Superman!

It's a crane with a name that nobody knows how to say.

I've seen countless videos of people reviewing this product and the thing I hear over

and over again is people mispronouncing the company name. Most often I hear them say...

The closest I've ever heard anybody say it right, almost right, is when they said...

Jee-yoon is pretty close...

But a more proper way to say it would be

zhiyun

Two syllables, not one, two different tones. But since most of you out there probably

don't speak a tonal language like Chinese, you could probably drop the

tones and still do the name justice by just saying ji-yoon. now here's my own

Now here's my own pronunciation spelling of it.

You say the j-i, the ji...

like you would the beginning of ginger. Then you say the yoon like you would the Korean surname.

So for those of you wondering what Zhiyun means, and yes, in Chinese, names do have meanings...

- And what is your name? - Butch

- What does it mean?

- I'm American, honey, our names don't mean shit.

"Zhi" which looks like this, means wisdom.

"Yun" which looks like this, means cloud.

So going by the dictionary definition of each word, a literal translation might be

Wisdom Cloud

Personally I think this sounds kind of silly because in the

modern age zhi has a slightly different nuance

it means smart as in "smart technology". For example...

The way to say smartphone in Chinese is...

The way to say smart TV is...

So you could call your device a "smart cloud crane."

What Is Vedic Meditation? - Duration: 3:05.

Peter Vroom here professional Vedic Meditation teacher with The Resolute Mind

And of course a lot of people ask me what is Vedic Meditation?

How is it different from other practices of meditation a very good question Vedic Meditation

is a very simple effortless practice

We don't concentrate we don't focus we use a mantra in Vedic Meditation

But it's not mantra meditation the mantra it is simply a tool for something else

That something else is what we refer to as transcendence. Transcendence means to go beyond

and in this case we go beyond thought

so a lot of people try to control their thoughts a lot of meditation practices teach you to

stop thinking and things like that and

That is of course pretty much impossible

What we do in Vedic meditation is we use a mantra with with a special process kind of

like brushing teeth we use

Toothpaste with a special process.

So we use a mantra and a special process and through that special process

The mind goes to a place called bliss consciousness or pure contented consciousness

And then when in that state of consciousness the mind gives up the need to think and so

thinking stops

So Vedic Meditation is a very simple and effortless practice a process to take the mind to bliss

consciousness

and then what happens when we get there is you rest very very deeply many times deeper

than sleep and when you rest that deeply

with such awareness it allows the body to come out of fight/flight mode and

To with that deep rest to start releasing stress out of the nervous system

It allows the reproductive system to come back online the immune system to come back

online the digestive systems to come back online

These are all systems that get hampered when we have stress in the nervous system.

That's why

People come to me to to learn to meditate because they're trying to get pregnant or

because they're trying to heal or something like that

So Vedic Meditation brings that deep rest which allows them to experience those benefits

Now key to a regular meditation practice is that it's not difficult

it's got to be easy simple and effortless and with Vedic meditation it is those things

if it's hard if it requires

Concentration or work or dedication?

it's just unlikely that we're going to be regular a small percentage of the population

will be regular but most people wouldn't and

Let's face it we have so many demands and things that we have to devote ourselves to

throughout the day with dedication and focus

That to add something else to it like meditation just means that we're not going to meditate

We already have enough going on also with Vedic Meditation

We want results and we want results very quickly

And we want results to come

reliably when we do the practice just like

Working out if you're working out of brushing teeth you want results from that and it's

like that with Vedic

Meditation as well.

So in a very short period of time just short meditations every day.

We get good results out of it

So that's another important thing as well

So a Vedic Meditation a very simple, very easy a very effortless practice and I look

forward to hearing from you

What are the benefits of teaming agreements or partnering with other companies? - Duration: 1:06.

What are the benefits of partnering with other companies?

I'm not a big fan of partnering.

I'm not a big fan of teaming agreements only because there's more risk.

You're better off if you can, win it and sub it out to them or have them win it and sub

it out to you.

It's a lot more secure that way.

The only reason I'm not a big fan of partnering or teaming agreements is because you really

need to get an attorney involved.

The attorney needs to review all the documentation before you sign it.

And you need to get your own attorney.

Not theirs.

If you've never seen the movie Pretty Woman watch it and you'll know exactly what I'm

talking about.

About the risk of partnering and teaming agreements because there are predator companies out

there that are looking to sucker you in to a teaming agreement or partnership.

And they'll hand you some stuff to sign.

And their attorney's sitting right there going, "Oh yeah, it's good."

And then you sign it and guess what: you no longer own your business.

True story.

So, if you're going to go that route, get your own attorney and pay them to review all

the documentation before you sign it.

Questions rise on how and to what extent N. Korea's railways and roads should be developed - Duration: 3:24.

South and North Korea held a special groundbreaking ceremony this week to

highlight their shared desire to eventually link and modernize their

railways and roads but before any actual construction can get underway it's

crucial to know the exact condition of railways and roads in the north and two

sides also need to carefully consider how to make it an effective transport

network Oh jung-hee reports North Korean leader Kim jong-un once spoke very

frankly about the status of the regime's transportation system that was at his

first summit with South Korean president moon jae-in back in April chairman Kim

said that he's concerned to be honest that things could be quite uncomfortable

for president moon when he visits North Korea due to poor local transportation

systems he had it it could be quite embarrassing and such remark has been

verified by South Korean inspectors went to the north for rail surveys they found

trains there can go about 20 to 60 kilometers an hour tracks where trains

don't run regularly have deteriorated while some sections can't allow high

speeds because of steep hills curves tunnels and bridges the rail condition

isn't too good and we thought it to be impossible for trains to run at high

speed the case is a similar for the Western race

roads are in similar or worse conditions among different modes of transport North

Korea depends on railways by up to 86 percent on roads by 12 percent and sea

travel by 2 percent roads have been less highlighted as associate less developed

and relays because of the regime's economic focus on heavy industries and

the high cost in contrast South Korea has a road centered transport network

enabling free movement of people and goods the stark difference between the

two Koreas transport network suggests that the two sides should focus on

preventing ineffectiveness in logistics connection

for example when they operated their joint factory park the Kaesong

Industrial Complex the South Korean items had to be carried

by truck by train and then by truck again to enter the complex the situation

also prompts another question how and to what extent should North Korea's

railways and roads be quote modernized if more roads are created and railways

are upgraded in the North then more Goods and passengers will come and go

which will lead to a demand for higher speed and better technology how to

replace the existing four railway system set communication facilities and provide

electricity is what really needs to be considered linking and upgrading the

inter-korean transport network could take decades and cost an astronomical

amount of money but the economic benefits are expected to outweigh the

cost being over 2.5 billion u.s. dollars for the next 30 years just for linking

the Western Railways and above all experts point out the transport

connection could lead Pyongyang to gradually open up its economy Oh

Do You Know What's In Your Tampon? | Madge the Vag | Scary Mommy - Duration: 4:01.

(upbeat music)

- If you're a tampon user, you'll use almost

twelve thousand in a lifetime.

Now that's a lot of cotton.

(upbeat introductory music)

Twat's Up Ladies, I'm Madge the Vag

and today, we're pulling out (pop) all the stops.

To find out what's up with your tampon.

Are ya super, are ya regular, are ya sporty?

- Maybe on the sporty side, super sporty.

- Just regular.

- Exuberant.

- (laughs) Exuberant tampon.

Mine would be the, you know,

the let's go out and have a drink tampon.

- Yeah, great, ours can hang out.

(bouncy music)

- Dr. Bartalot, thanks for comin' in.

Now let's talk about tampons.

First question, what are they made of?

They look like cotton balls on a stick

or some cotton candy.

- Usually they're a mixture of both cotton and rayon.

There are some that are 100% cotton,

but most of them are a blend.

- And that's okay to put in there?

- So the rayon that they use now is not the same rayon

that they used back in like the 70's and 80's,

that was associated with higher risks

of dioxene contamination.

The dioxene was originally coming from the

bleaching process, using chlorinated bleach.

Now, with the FDA regulating tampons,

they're no longer using chlorine to bleach tampons.

It's more bleaching with hydrogen peroxide.

So you don't really have to worry about

dioxene poisoning from tampons anymore.

- So it's not so much about them getting bleached,

it's what's bleaching them.

- It's the by-products from using chlorinated bleach.

But even cotton gets bleached,

cause cotton isn't all perfectly white.

So even if you're using 100% cotton,

it's still gonna undergo a bleaching process.

It's just now, we're using non-chlorinated bleach,

so you're not getting additional dioxene

from the bleaching process.

- Could I get a non-bleached product?

- Not that I've seen.

- And why do we bleach them, just the look?

- Well, if you have a dark wood, and then you're

trying to see if there's blood or

how much blood is on there,

you're not going to be able to tell.

If it's gray, basically, the whole point is,

you want to see how much you're bleeding.

So white versus red is pretty contrasting in color.

- So I've heard there are organic ones.

Is that a thing, does it even matter?

- Cotton can be treated with certain pesticides.

An organic cotton is not treated with those same pesticides.

- Can you kinda do your research?

Like, are there ingredients on tampon boxes

to see if there's any real differences?

- It doesn't tell you the exact composition of the tampons.

It does tell you what it may contain on the side of the box.

But it doesn't tell you the percentage of each ingredient.

- So it's hard to know, really, what you're getting anyway.

- Right, the FDA does regulate it,

but it's not disclosed to the public.

- Ew, how about the scented tampons, that sounds nice.

- I know you know how I feel about scented products;

deodorants, sprays, they pretty much

all have the same effect on the vagina.

You don't know who's gonna respond to what,

and you're adding something that's

not natural, and it's scented.

It could possibly irritate the vagina,

whether the pad is scented, it might irritate the

outside of the vagina, the vulva area.

If it's a tampon, it could irritate

the mucosa of the vagina.

So, as long as you're cleaning your vagina as you should,

and you're changing your tampon every four to six hours,

it's not gonna smell bad so you don't need

to add an additional scent to it.

- True or false?

Tampons were used by medics in wars.

- False.

- That seems practical.

- True?

- True, to absorb blood.

- Penetration trauma,

penetration trauma, that's what they called it.

Say you get shot in the arm, tampon!

- Oh wait, really?

- Yeah, yeah.

Wow, that's a whole lot of information.

I'm Madge the Vag.

If you have any questions or comments, put 'em in my box.

My inbox, that is.

Where Have I Been? What's Happening? | SEWING REPORT - Duration: 8:23.

hey everybody Jennifer here with the Sewing Report your Center for everything sewing

crafts and DIY projects I know it's been a little bit since I put out a video so

I just wanted to give you guys an update what's been happening and also what is

going forward for this channel I realized I now a couple of months ago I

had shot a bunch of videos in advance sir for a while I was pretty good about

staying on schedule I usually like to upload one to two times a week

preferably two times a week and I still have goals for doing more live streams

in the future like we used to do so this video is going to be pretty unedited so

I may miss speak or flub things up so just try to understand the last couple

months have been a little bit taxing for us personally so I've been a little bit

behind with my production schedule a couple months ago a family member of

mine underwent a very major medical procedure and things were a little bit

touch-and-go with them for a while so you know sometimes in life things just

get kind of and that's okay and I'm doing the best I can

so that happened and that's been you know pretty pretty hard on the family

but thank goodness this family member is doing quite a bit better right now so we

had Christmas with them and things have been hopefully hopefully on the

up-and-up in other news our cat gato who's been in

quite a few videos with us I post a lot of pictures and videos of her as well

just because she was a member of our family she's been suffering from some

health issues the past couple months and I've been doing what I can to try to get

to the bottom of the situation but unfortunately she went downhill a couple

days ago and gato is no longer with us so that happened and in the late weeks

leading up to that I was doing a lot of home care for her it's crazy how much

stuff you can do to a cat medically and you know this was the first cat I've

ever had she you know we've had her since she was a kitten she was almost 10

years old and you know she's popped up in the live

shows she's always trying to inconvenience me in whatever way she can

because that's just how a cat is as y'all who are cat owners know that's you

know they just like to make your life harder so the last few weeks I was doing

a lot for her preparing special food for her injecting

her with daily fluids and really trying to get her to improve health wise but

unfortunately that just didn't happen and she really took a turn for the worst

on Christmas Eve I ended up taking her to the emergency vet clinic and

unfortunately she didn't make it through the night so we're very sad to lose her

she was a great friend and you know I've been it so I've been a bit of a wreck

the last couple days last night in fact after my husband went to bed I ended up

looking at a bunch of old pictures and videos of the cat and just like bawling

my eyes out so if you've ever done that apparently that is okay and it's weird

because I never thought that I would get this emotional over a cat but but it's

happening so there's that and in other news we are gonna be moving again in the

next couple weeks so things around here are gonna be in a bit of chaos so I just

wanted to let you guys know in advance that I may not be posting it as much as

I want to the channel over the next month or so just because I have to get

this whole place packed up I have to find a new place to live which I don't

have yet we're not switching area we're not really moving out of the area we're

still staying in the Tampa Bay area but we just want to move to the Tampa side

and find something a little closer to where my husband works so I'm probably

going to be doing a lot of this work myself because his hours at work have

just been insane so I hope you guys can understand life is getting a little

crazy but if you're new to the channel I have tons and tons of videos on lots of

different topics from sewing machines to sewing techniques to product reviews and

lots of fun things or we just kind of chat so I just wanted to keep everyone

Christmas really got away from me this year we don't really ever do Christmas

cards because I can never get it together and my husband doesn't really

like to give his picture taken a whole lot which despite him having his own

YouTube channel and Instagram account he's cut a little bit photo shy I made a

few gifts this year but they were most of them are things I've already shown on

the channel like embroidering things or things that there were someone else has

made videos on I did make some neckties from made every day's everyday necktie

pattern great pattern by the way but she already has a video showing you how to

make it so I really don't need to reiterate that and you know I had to

make these gifts so quickly and wrap him up that I really didn't have a lot of

time to like photograph them and show them off and it's a lot of them were

things I've already done before if projects I've already made before so I

did do a handmade Christmas for the most part although I did get I did get my mom

and I matching earrings which I'm loving they're like little gift bows so I got

my mom and I Kate Spade earrings they're really awesome in Kate Spade has really

good sales so I did do a little bit of Christmas shopping my husband and I

don't actually really exchange gifts ourselves and I'm clearly trying to get

rid of a lot of things that I have so yeah not buying a whole lot and I I'm

gonna be doing some more updates about my no fabric challenge for 2018 which is

successful if I can make it through the next week which I'm pretty sure I can so

What Is A Step Parent's Role? - Duration: 10:10.

Families take on a lot of different constellations. Sometimes a stepparent

ends up wondering, "What's my role?" I'm kind of funny this way but I really like

to identify what's not my job. If I'm trying to figure out what my job is. So

let's talk about that first and then we'll get to some things that will help

you to establish yourself as a more effective step parent. What's not my job.

It's not my job to replace anyone or anything. This is where we get into

trouble sometimes. I did child custody evaluations for the court for about 13

years in my practice. I've seen a lot of situations where there's such bitterness

and anger and animosity against this step parent. Because she's trying to

replace my mom. He thinks that he's taken over the position for my dad. It's not

your job to replace anyone. Kids already have a mom, don't they? Well then, what's

your role? Don't worry, we'll get to that in just a minute.

Your role is not to replace anyone. Is that a little bit of a relief? I hope that comes

as a relief. You'll notice that in families, we take on different roles.

Different purposes and it's really normal in a normal family. Whatever that

is, for one parent to be a little more focused on discipline for the other

parent to be a little more focused on the love and the nurturing. Yeah, that's

pretty common. As a stepparent, it's not your role to take over one of those

positions. You're naturally going to create a new family dynamic. But it's not

your role to be the disciplinarian. I picked that particular role because as a

step parent, that creates some predictable difficulties. If you step in

and try to provide the discipline. Now, you can provide the discipline

appropriately. We're going to get to that. But it's not your role to become the

disciplinarian. Or the nurturer or whatever the role is. You don't have to

assume that that's already predetermined. You know, here's another one. And I know

that you've probably encountered this. Because there are some messes, aren't

there? Yeah. It's not your job to clean up the mess or to fix whatever somebody

else broke. Let that settle in for a moment. It's not your job.

You're not the mop-up person. You're not here to fix or correct or repair.

Probably your involvement will improve the situation if you do it right. We're

going to get to that. But remember your job is not to fix this and to clean up

all the messes. I don't think you possibly could clean up all the messes.

And that's okay because it's not your job. How you feeling right about now? A

little better? Hopefully that's a relief to realize, "Oh, it's not my job to do that.

It's not my job to do that." One other point that it's not your job to make

sure that anything. Alright? Connect with that. You know how

you might finish that sentence. "Oh, I need to make sure that..." Whatever. "I need to

make sure that my spouse is happy. I need to make sure that the ex doesn't

interfere with the kids. I need to make sure that I'm an effective

disciplinarian." Whatever. No. It's not your job to make sure that anything. That

should be a relief as well. Alright. Now, that we got you feeling all relieved,

what is your job as a stepparent? It's pretty simple. Your job is to love

them no matter what and even if. Big surprise if you've watched this channel

very long. Look at the positive parenting playlist. We repeat that time and time

again. This is your job. Whether you are a natural-born parent,

adoptive parent, a stepparent. Whatever. This is your job. To love them no matter

what and even if. There's some challenges when you come into this as a step parent.

Because there's already patterns established. And there are relationships

that existed before you ever got here. As a parent in this home, you get to take

part in all of the roles of parenting. Discipline? Some step parents I talked to

our way hands-off on the discipline. Understandably because if that's not

done correctly, it can cause friction and conflict in their relationships. And the

kids are already kind of struggling bringing someone else in. So, you're going

to take part in the discipline but we're going to do it in a way that we have

parental authority. This is the part that I've been promising to get to for the

whole video. This is how we're going to step into the discipline role, the

nurturer role, every role that is relevant and applicable to a parent will

be supported as you understand what gives you authority. The fact that you

carry a title as a parent even if it has the word step in front of it does not

give you any authority. Here's what gives you authority and this comes from solid

research that showed that there are 2 components to Authority. And here's

what they are. Component number 1, you have to be able to set and enforce

appropriate limits. Have to be able to set

and enforce appropriate limits. If you can't, you don't have any authority with

these kids. How do you do that? First of all, focus on what you control. You'll

feel frustrated and angry and resentful if you get yourself into areas that you

don't have any control. And watch for those 3 feelings. Frustration, anger,

and resentment. When you feel those, it's probably because you're getting into an

area where you don't have any control.Get your mind steered back to what you

do control and then you can use that appropriately in the discipline. You have

to be able to set and enforce appropriate limits. There's another

important part to authority that is probably equally powerful. Sometimes

overlooked. You have to be seen as a provider of good times and good things.

Be seen as a provider of good times and good things. We got to be having fun.

Honestly, if you come in and do discipline without being seen as a

provider of good times and good things, you don't carry any authority with these

kids. Oh they may obey you from time to time just to stay out of trouble.

But what gives you the true authority as a stepparent is if you are personally seen

as a provider of good times and good things? Notice this is not just an

extension of your spouse. Your spouse may already be seen as a provider of good

times and good things. The fact that you are now married to their parent does not

give you automatic authority. You've got to earn that. So we've got the 2

components. You have to be able to set and enforce appropriate limits. If you

need some help with that, get some help with that. The positive parenting

playlist here on the channel is a great place to start. The parenting power up of

course the Vicky and I put together. That's a great place to

to. Parenting Power-Up.com. Go check it out.

There's resources and there's others too besides the ones that we're providing

for you. Figure out how to set and enforce appropriate limits and then that

second part, you got to be seen as a provider of good times and good things.

Lighten it up, have some fun. Show the kids that you can be someone that is

enjoyable and fun to be around. It contributes to your authority. Your job

as a stepparent can be a whole lot of fun. You can have

authority with these kids. You can be seen as someone who is important in

their life. You're not replacing anybody. Remember what we talked about. About what

your job is not. And I think you can get there. This whole step parent thing.

Probably not for the weak of heart, right? Hopefully you found this helpful. And if

you new to the channel, click right down there below it that big button to
