Hi, everyone. My name is Monik.
And here's my take on this Follow Your Heart Vegan Eggs.
When you're on a plant-based diet,
sometimes you miss that eggy flavor
and there are some recipes that call for some eggs.
Follow Your Heart has come up with Vegan Egg.
And the internet has called this the best vegan egg ever.
So, I am going to review this and tell you about 3 things.
One, the ingredients whether it's good to consume or healthy to consume.
Two, how easy it is to make it.
And three, the flavor.
First, the ingredients.
Just because a product says vegan on it, that doesn't mean I trust it.
So, what I usually do I read the ingredients.
And this Vegan Egg, it's made out of...
Organic soymilk powder, modified cellulose,
geellan gum,
gellan gum...
cellulose, calcium lactate from plant source,
carageenan, natural flavors which contain black salt and herbs,
nutritional yeast flakes, black salt, and beta carotene.
Sounds pretty good. So...
There are some ingredients there that might be debatable, but in general,
it sounds pretty good.
Another plus side, this Vegan Egg is made with non-GMO soy.
Number 2, how easy it is to make it.
Follow Your Heart has been kind enough to give instructions even with pictures.
Vegan Egg comes in this very cute egg carton-like package.
And it's actually a powder that comes in this plastic bag.
And they also provide more instructions in this tiny little paper that is stuck inside the carton.
Are you eggscited to make this???
According to the instructions, to make 1 egg, you need 1/2 cup of very cold water.
Make sure it's cold.
Then, you need 2 TBSP of the Vegan Egg powder.
And then, you whisk it.
And make sure you whisk it well.
And then, it will become a little bit creamy texture.
Heat up your lightly oiled non-stick pan.
And pour the batter into the pan.
And stir right away.
At first, it looks a little bit runny.
But after a while... 5 minutes later,
the texture becomes a little bit firmer.
Actually the instructions does say that it takes about 7-9 minutes
to make this.
And 9 minutes later,
you get vegan scrambled egg.
Number 3, the flavor.
I am going to ask my husband who is a plant-based person and
2 of his friends that are not quite plant-based.
So, let's find out what they think about this Vegan Egg.
Kinda has an eggy texture...
But it doesn't taste like eggs at all.
I mean, there might be a mild egg flavor.
[Me asking] From 1-10, what is it?
As far as the eggy flavor?
[Me talking] Yeah.
A 2... maybe a 3...
I imagine if you mix it with other things
that are in an omelette like the bell peppers and mushrooms...
[Me asking] So, from 1-10, would you recommend this?
Depends what you're going for...
If you're going for eggs, no, I wouldn't recommend it.
It's not eggs.
Doesn't have a flavor of eggs.
It has texture of eggs.
But not flavor of eggs.
If you're going just for a dish, making... creating a new dish...
it's fine
But it's probably not worth the price.
Yeah, definitely it doesn't taste that bad, otherwise, I wouldn't have finished it...
It's just not eggs.
[Friend 1]: What is that?
[People laughing]
[Friend 2]: Not an egg, not at all... not even close...
[Friend 1]: It's like vegetables or something...
[Friend 1]: Zero...
[Friend 2] One would be too generous...
What a tough crowd!
Now, it's my turn!
Texture is definitely firm.
I would say firmer than a regular egg.
It's kinda chewy.
Like cornstarch chewy.
Flavor...
It has somewhat eggy flavor...
but not a whole lot.
I can still taste the flour flavor...
From 1-10,
for scrambled eggs,
I would give it a 7...
And maybe, it will taste better if you use it in a dish
not by itself.
So that you can barely notice that it's not quite an egg.
Cause it doesn't taste quite like an egg.
It's not bad.
But for the price,
I may stick with tofu and make scrambled tofu instead.

My review of this Vegan Egg by Follow Your Heart
which you can purchase at your local health food store
for about $7-8 depending how pricey the store is, really...
or you can buy online at Amazon or other online stores.
