How to Connect Android Phone to Car Stereo and Listen to Music on Aux Input - Duration: 1:31.

If you have a factory DVD player in your vehicle, there's a good possibility you can connect

your Android phone to the car stereo to listen to your music.

This Honda Pilot has a rear entertainment system with auxiliary inputs.

To listen to music from your Android in your car, you'll need this 3.5mm to RCA stereo

cable.

They're pretty inexpensive and handy to have around.

On the back of my center console, I have audio and video inputs.

The location of these ports might be in a different location in your vehicle.

Now take the stereo cable and insert the 3.5mm plug into the Android's headphone jack.

My cable is about 3 feet long.

Take the red and white RCA plugs and plug them into the left and right audio inputs.

Now I'll switch to the Aux input on my stereo and it's good to go!

I can enjoy music or podcasts from my Android on my hour plus commute to and from work!

And one last note, some vehicles have a built-in 3.5mm audio input so in that case you'll need

a 3.5mm to 3.5mm patch cable.

If you found this video helpful please give me a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe

New MINI Countryman review - Duration: 9:51.

My wife would like a MINI to be her next car.

However, I live in Apeldoorn. As you know, this is outside civilized society,

past Amersfoort, so paved roads are rare.

A MINI may not be the most practical car there, plus we need room for the kids.

They need to be able to sit in the back seat, so you want doors there.

Where does this lead to? The MINI Countryman.

It's been here for a while, but this is the second generation. It has changed a lot.

However, before I'm going to tell you all about it, I want to tell you how this car came to be.

I had problems with it as well. The name MINI suggests something small.

It's put on big cars nowadays. This car is 20 cm bigger than the previous MINI Countryman.

That itself wasn't a small MINI anymore.

It is a huge car. Why is it still called MINI?

In short, it's a brand name. If you want a successful brand, you have to listen to your customers.

What do MINI customers want? More room compared to the previous Countryman.

Like I said, the car grew 20 cm longer and it's 3 cm wider.

In all, there is more room. 450 liter luggage space is suddenly very important for a car like this.

No one bought a Mini for its luggage space.

It's a small car that should be able to take you anywhere.

Anyway, enough about that. We're going to talk about this car.

You get to choose from different engines; diesel and gasoline.

The question is, how does this one perform? We're driving the Cooper S.

I have to say the engine doesn't disappoint.

It's a turbo engine and some people hate these, but this one works well.

It's a 2.0, which may be the difference with the 1.6 turbo engines of other brands.

It feels cooler. When you hit the throttle, stuff happens.

Especially in sport mode, like this car can do, the exhaust starts burbling and roaring.

It becomes a fun MINI, a fun car to drive. More fun than I expected it to be for such a big MINI.

It is a rather big car.

About the handling... You can see I'm on the wrong side of the car.

The steering wheel is on the other side, which brings me to the steering of this car.

It's not bad. We're in England. I'll talk about that later, because I like they brought us here.

We're in England, where there are lots of narrow roads and hills.

I expected I had to be careful with this car because of understeer, that I wouldn't dare much with it,

but it's not that bad. It has the playful character of a smaller MINI.

I think it's more fun and inviting to drive than a SEAT Ateca,

which I think is a good handling SUV / crossover this size.

We have to talk about the design of the new MINI Countryman.

Opinions in the comments were divided.

I didn't like it when I first saw the photos, but in real life...

I think it's 10x better than the previous Countryman, which I think is very ugly.

I think it's a good looking car, a bit sporty. I think it's nice.

The headlights reminded me of the Fiat 124 Spider, but now...

More so in photos than in real life.

Of course it has the typical MINI roof; in white, but it comes in different colors as well.

Kick it and it works. Nice. It all works.

Here we have something important in this class. A number of brands offer an optional 3rd row of seats.

MINI has this too. They're a sort of balcony seats, so...

It's easy to make a mother-in-law joke, but my mother-in-law is sweet. I'd never put her here.

But yeah, like this.

You're in the open air, which isn't very nice in England because it was snowing when shooting.

It is possible, though. There we go. I'm sitting down.

Switch it on for the lights. The interior lights are blue, giving a special effect.

A head-up display.

And this thing looked like a giant bicycle wheel on the photos, but it's not that bad.

It is typically MINI. It doesn't have intuitively easy-to-find buttons that are easy to use,

but it's typically MINI; different from all the other brands.

I would come back to the subject of England. We're near Oxford.

That's where Mini originates, but this MINI has little to do with Oxford

except for the brand name originating here. MINI is in German hands; owned by BMW.

However, the car is built in the Netherlands, at Nedcar in Born.

They will start producing the BMW X1 there soon.

That car shares a lot of technology with this one, so that's logical.

All engines are optionally available with an automatic transmission.

They have a 6-speed Steptronic or, in case of the Cooper S models, an 8-speed Steptronic.

We have the 8-speed automatic transmission. It's fun, because I've been using the flappy pedals a lot.

I'm usually very lazy with an automatic transmission. I let it do all the work.

But here, on the English roads, I've been shifting gears.

You do find the right gear, but it has to be in sport mode. You need to hear the engine.

If not in sport mode, you're rather soundproofed and don't hear the engine well,

shifting down a gear too many. On the other hand, the torque solves this. It's not a disaster.

Another piece of powertrain technology we have to talk about: all Countrymans are available with ALL4.

It's not an SUV that looks tough but really isn't.

Of course, we'll mainly see FWD cars in the Netherlands, but you can get AWD on all engines.

Keep in mind this costs 4,000-5,000 euros more than a FWD car.

Speaking of the prices...

The base model MINI Countryman Cooper with 134 hp starts at 33,000 euros.

That is much cheaper than its technology partner, the BMW X1. That one starts at 40,000 euros.

It's cheaper than the Q3 and Mercedes GLA as well.

That's funny. There's a big difference of 4,000-5,000 euros between these cars. At the least.

The car we're driving, the MINI Countryman Cooper S...

The car we're driving is the MINI Countryman Cooper S, available starting at 45,000 euros with ALL4.

I'd do this. When it's wet and a Cooper S without help of the rear wheels doesn't get anywhere.

I think you don't want that. You can also choose the John Cooper Works (JCW), the most powerful one.

It has 228 hp, many party features, cool wings and stickers, a firmer suspension, etc.

This costs a little over 50,000 euros. That's a lot of money for such a small car.

On the other hand, you don't buy this car rationally. You buy it because you like it.

You have to think it's cool and fun to drive, be okay it's less comfortable than its rivals,

but if you like driving and need cars with more ride height because there are no paved roads,

this can be a good option. Or, if you live in England with its bumpy roads, the extra ride height is nice.

Baseline setup: Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport - Duration: 8:08.

By now you probably know how I like to work for these videos.

I usually build a setup in Barcelona and then test it in many other places to make sure it

is a solid starting point everywhere.

This time I changed that.

Many requested a tune for this car, and I´m pretty sure it is all because of the huge

popularity of a certain lobby these days.

I know most of the people that wanted this probably want a sharp tool to fight in that

lobby, so I made a bit of an effort to guarantee this tune works at Red Bull Ring.

There are little things you can still change to make the car better there, I still want

this to be a solid tune for every track, and the Red Bull Ring has a quite strange layout.

So, let´s move to that track, see a qualifying lap, and I´ll give you some driving tips.

If you have dedicated any time to this car you probably noticed all this stuff already.

First I would like to talk about how this car slows down.

The timing of the shifts is a very effective way to control how the car turns in.

It is not very intuitive, but the longer you wait to downshift, the better the front end is

If you want better turn in, you wait until the revs drop, and then shift.

If you notice the rear starting to slide, go a gear down and the car will straighten itself.

Many cars usually understeer like trucks in long gears, this one does the complete opposite.

Generally I would advice not abusing the engine braking in this car, it doesn´t like it.

The TC is very smart in this car.

It is not adjustable, there´s only on and off, but if you turn it on the car is way

easier out of the slowest turns.

It is not too invasive unless you´re doing very low speeds, but I still like to turn

it off once the initial moment of wheelspin is gone.

In high speed corner exit, I keep it off.

If you manage to get the car a bit sideways with your first stab on the power you´ll

be much faster.

TC might avoid you doing that.

The middle section has examples of both of these traits.

Let´s see it.

About the potential speed of this tune, a good qualifying lap can be a low 38.

This lap is quite scrappy, I´m at the gravel at one point and I stay too shy of inside

curbs in the fast corners, it´s still going to be a 38.7.

There´s at least half a second to gain if you hook every corner nicely.

In this combo it´s easier to be fast over one lap.

You can spend the outlap weaving like crazy to generate heat, while in race day you can

can not do it.

Let´s look at the leaderboards to see where this stands.

The first 1.11v laptime is a 37.9.

That is out of reach for me with this tune, a 38.2 or 3 might be doable in a long hotlap

session trying to nail that perfect lap, so it´s not too far away.

The tune isn´t fully optimized for RBR so there might be more laptime to gain in the

setup screen.

On race day tyre temperatures are a huge problem.

It is very hard to keep them up in this layout.

Once you are fast here the magic of this lobby sort of goes away.

The initial round fighting 3 wide in the midfield is quite cool, but at the front races are usually

decided at the start.

There are dozens of drivers out there able to do the same pace, usually high 38s and

low 39s, and passing is extremelly hard.

Be agressive on the first lap.

I´m not advicing kamikaze stuff, but if you know what you´re doing you need to fight

hard and not yield easily.

After turn 2 the race is usually decided.

This is how the field looks one lap later...

A car one second ahead, a car one second behind.

Now we skip ahead to lap 3...

And we have the exact same situation.

Another lap down the road and nothing will change...

And if we skip to lap 5, we´re still holding station there.

I´ve had this exact same race very often.

The only way you´ll gain or lose positions is with drivers making mistakes.

In this race I started overdriving trying to throw a desperate attack, and all I managed

to do was to fall back.

Now you´ll see me choking under pressure, this a good example of what early downshifts

tend to do in this car.

My advice for this lobby would be attack on lap 1, and stick to your pace then.

If you´re doing this pace you´ll be really hard to pass.

Now, let´s see the tune!

With ABS, brake distribution is not too critical.

I like the default one.

It allows trail braking with relative safety, the

rear is quite stable but you still can get the front to bite hard with light brake inputs

all the way to the apex.

There´s only one compound, and it is way too hard for this particular track.

It won´t heat up for me unless I start weaving and understeering intentionally.

This might surprise you but I use higher than default pressures.

I´ve seen people do wonders with minimum values but I hate how soft the car gets.

It is worth experimenting with lower pressures for this combo, but if you go to a more conventional

track like Barcelona these values will allow you to heat up the tyres anyway, and personally I

hate how soft the ride gets when you´re on low pressures.

I stick to the highest negative value for the front camber.

You´ll keep temperatures up a bit easier, and the front will bite better in long lateral

efforts.

I use lower values for the rear, traction out of the slowest corners tends to be better

like this, and that is critical at Red Bull Ring.

I increased a bit the negative toe at the front.

It should increase temperatures a bit and improve direction change.

At the rear I use a very low negative value.

Most cars use positive toe there, but this one doesn´t by default so I was not confident

making big changes here.

I dropped the ride height all the way down at both ends.

The car still has plenty of rake like this.

With some cars in AC the suspension starts working worse if you drop the car down all

the way down.

I noticed not such a thing for this one so I went straight to the minimum value.

I use quite stiff springs at both ends too.

Again I´ve seen people do really well with minimum values here but I hate this car when

the ride is too soft.

It will just take ages to respond to my inputs.

The stiff rear end is especially important for me, I can´t get that small amount of wheelspin

on fast corner exits without it.

The sway bar settings are a no brainer for me, soft front, stiff rear.

You see the rear bar empty but that is a bug.

2 is actually the highest value available for this

car.

If I don´t do this I just get understeer mid corner.

That´s all!

You can see this is a car with quite limited options.

That is good because it keeps the fields very tight, but at the same time you can never

get the car fully to your liking.

Thanks for watching!

Top 10 Maserati Car Models Of All Time - Duration: 5:55.

What's now considered to be one of the most renowned automakers in the world was started

on December 1, 1914 as a small car repair shop in Bologna, Italy.

It was on that day that four brothers, Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ernesto, and Ettore, came together

to build a business that would become an empire.

Fast forward more than a century, and the Maserati name is synonymous with style, sophistication,

and luxury.

The company has designed some incredible cars during its history, and getting your hands

on any Maserati will cost a tidy sum.

Here are the top 10 Maserati cars of all time.

10.

The Maserati Merak 1,830 Maserati Merak were made between 1972

and 1983.

These vintage cars are typically sold for at least $50,000.

09.

Maserati Alfieri This 2+2 coupe has bold curves and draws heavily

from the A6GCS that Pininfarina designed for Maserati in the mid 1950s.

06.

Maserati GranTurismo This is one of the latest collaborations between

Pininfarina and Maserati, and it's incredible.

Maserati MC12 When the MC12 was first revealed as a race

car and put on courses, spectators swooned over it.

It was Maserati's return to racing after a nearly 40 year hiatus, and this car didn't

disappoint.

Counting the 12 cars created for racing, just 62 of the Maserati MC12 were made.

25 of the cars were produced for road use in 2004, and then another set of 25 was manufactured

in 2005.

These cars never made it to show rooms, because they were all pre-sold for $669,600.

03.

Maserati A6GCS/53 It's a racing car that has an elegant, iconic

profile and is one of the most famous cars that Maserati has ever made.

If you can find one at auction, expect to pay at least $2,200,000 for a A6GCS/53.

02.

Maserati Birdcage 75th This concept car is so unlike anything that

Maserati has ever introduced, but that's totally fitting for the brand and the occasion.

The body is a smooth one-door berlinetta with canopy doors.

The Maserati Birdcage 75th is powered by the same engine used in the Enzo Ferrari and it

also has a 6 speed automatic transmission and 700 brake horsepower.

It's not possible to buy this car, but its estimated value tops $3 million.

01.

Maserati Tipo 61 The Maserati Tipo 61, also known as the Birdcage,

was built to be a race car with great speed, power, and endurance.

Few wouldn't recognize its open top design and dramatic wheel arches, and it claimed

its place in the racing world as a winner.

On the rare occasion that a Maserati Tipo 61 shows up at auction, it typically fetches

over $3,500,000.

How Environmentally Unfriendly Are Airplanes Really? - Duration: 3:31.

Planes: Large, fuel consuming monsters that are a big hazard to the environment.

Thousands of liters are spilled every trip and for what good?

Because flying a 70 tonne aircraft is significantly more polluting than driving a car.

let's compare the two: Truck vs Plane, Ford (F-150) vs Boeing (737-800).

A trip from LAX to IAD! How environmentally unfriendly are airplanes really?

A road trip between the two airports, is a 4.300 km drive.

According to Ford, the F-150 uses 10.9 liter gasoline for every 100 kilometer.

When extrapolating this to the full distance, 469 liters would be used.

Calculating the fuel a Boeing would consume on this trip, is not as easy as for cars.

Fuel usages of a plane is heavily influenced by a lot of factors.

The most obvious ones are probably distance, speed and weight.

Other variables with big impact are wing span, wing area, engine efficiency, Oswald efficiency,

zero-lift drag coefficient, fuel density, fuel specific energy and cruising height.

The latter can be converted into air density and speed of sound.

Using all this information, several factors can be calculated.

First, the so called aspect ratio: this is divined as wingspan squared, divided by wing area.

Secondly, the speed of the aircraft.

We can now calculate the aerodynamic drag, which exists out of 2 parts:

the zero-lift drag coefficient and the drag coefficient due to lift.

The sum of these two, the overall drag coefficient,

can now be used to calculate the required power to counteract the drag.

Combining this with distance, fuel specific energy, engine efficiency, speed and fuel density,

total fuel usages can be found, a total of almost 12.000 liters.

When dividing by the number of seats, fuel consumption differs about 20%.

But when load factor is also taken into account:

the Boeing is clearly the winner.

Especially when travel time is added to this list.

Aircraft don't seem to be that environmentally unfriendly..

Okay yes, I have to be honest here:

I did pick the worst vehicle from the top 10 most used cars in the United States,

but the same can be told about every other car that is on this list,

even the best one: the Honda Civic cannot compete with the Boeing.

These cars will only start to be more efficient than the Boeing when you cramp 4, 5 or even 6 people in them.

But these are not all the cars that exist, there are way better vehicles available today.

Cars that only produce 4 liters of gasoline per 100 km. Why are those not in the top 10?

And yes I know, cars and aircraft run on different types gasoline and that may alter their environmental impact,

but we can at least state that for some routes, planes are the better option.

And when travelling in larger groups, efficient cars will be more sustainable.

So for now, there is no best way of long distance travelling.

It all depends on your origin, destination and mainly: the size of your group.

So don't protest against planes! For some people, flying is the best option.

Instead: try stimulating people to make the right choice!

Whether it be flying or driving, make the environmental choice.

And if you are driving one of those fuel consuming monsters:

please, for the sake of the environment:

get a different one!
