Do I Need Diabetes Medication - Duration: 4:07.
Hello, I am Ty Mason of thediabetescouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes.
Today I want to talk about the whether or not you need diabetes medication.

The answer to this question really depends on several factors.
The first of which is which type of diabetes do you have?
So we first must break down Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
Let's talk about those with Type 1 diabetes first.
If you have Type 1 then you are insulin dependent.
If you have Type 1 Diabetes, then approximately 90% of your insulin producing cells have been
destroyed.
And sadly, the process that destroyed the 90% of insulin producing cells with destroy
the remaining 10%.
Ultimately you will be totally dependent on insulin.
Type 1 diabetes cannot be managed without medication.
And this is not my opinion, it is the opinion of the foremost diabetes center in the world,
the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston.
Here is what they have to say on the matter: If you have type 1 diabetes, you must take
daily insulin injections to keep your blood glucose in a normal range.
Your body produces little or no insulin.
Insulin is a vital hormone that helps your body convert food into energy.
Without insulin, you would die.
So the answer the answer as far as Type 1 Diabetes goes the answer is Yes, you do need
your diabetes medication.
But what about Type 2 diabetes?
Well, here is what Joslin has to say about that.
If you have type 2 diabetes, the answer to this question is much less clear.
Many people can keep their blood glucose in a healthy range without medications (either
oral diabetes medications or insulin injections) if they lose weight and keep their weight
down, are regularly physically active, and follow a meal plan that helps them keep portion
sizes under control and helps them spread the amount of carbohydrate they eat at each
meal throughout the day.
So yes, it is possible for people with Type 2 to maintain their blood sugar without medication.
The key to managing your diabetes is to lose weight and regular exercise.
And this isn't something you try for a month.
This is a life long commitment.
It can be done, but many fail Eventually, many people with type 2 diabetes
find that despite their best efforts, weight control, exercise and diet aren't enough to
keep their blood glucose in a healthy range.
This is not unusual.
One theory is that some people's insulin-producing cells just get tired out from having to produce
more and more insulin because their cells are resistant to the effects of insulin.
Now, if your healthcare provider tells you that you need to take oral diabetes medications
or insulin injections to manage your blood glucose, it's important that you follow their
instructions.
Keeping your blood glucose in a healthy range is key to preventing long-term complications,
such as eye disease, kidney disease, heart attacks, and other problems that poorly controlled
blood glucose can cause over a period of years If you want to try and manage your diabetes
without medications, you must let your health care provider know your intentions and you
need to monitor EVERYTHING very closely.
Don't just wake up one day and say, "I will eat right today and walk 2 miles, so
I don't need to take my meds."
That would not be a good move on your part.
It is possible to manage your diabetes without meds, but do it the right way with the help
of your healthcare team.

And I'm here to talk to you today about what you should do first
as a Texas Tech student
if you're accused of a DWI,
Possession of Marijuana, or any other criminal charge.
Whether you're on campus or off,
your rights remain the same and you can invoke these rights at any time
no matter what anybody else tells you.
You have certain rights. Those rights include the absolute Right to Remain Silent,
the Right to Refuse to Consent to a Search or a Seizure,
and to be represented by a competent attorney
who knows what he or she is doing.
All three of these apply on campus
as well as off campus.
In most cases,
it's those students who remain silent
when confronted by the administration
and refuse to confess that they have violated a Student Code of Conduct
that successfully avoid getting kicked out of school.
A confession will not only score academic and social sanctions against you on campus,
it will also be used against you in any criminal case.
When you are a student at Texas Tech and you get into trouble with the law,
you face 2 separate cases:
one on campus and one in a real court room.
The on-campus case is the Student Code of Conduct Process.
It affects your school records
it incurs academic and social sanctions such as being kicked out of your campus housing,
suspended or expelled.
The off-campus case is a Criminal Case
and addresses the charges brought against you by the State of Texas.
It doesn't just mean getting kicked off the team, it can land you in jail.
You could find yourself serving a jail time sentence,
with fines, community service,
and a criminal record on top of getting kicked out of school.

How to Create or Upgrade your Lady Mafia - Duration: 6:55.

Today, we're talking about why you need a Lady Mafia for your business.
What's a Lady Mafia, you ask? Well, it's my term for a group of friends or
mastermind buddies who you know will always have your back. These are your
ride or die friends and mastermind buddies. These are the chicks who help you when
you're feeling scared and remind you that you are an awesome business lady who
can do anything. What if you are seriously lacking in this area? How do you find
them and what if you've actually outgrown your current Lady Mafia?
I'm going to be tackling this topic and more in today's video. Let's do it.
Let's get real here. Business can be scary. Really scary, some days.
You need to have girlfriends who not only get your business, but support you no
matter what. These are the people that you call when everything's gone wrong
during your launch, which totally happens. Who you know will pick you up and tell
you that it's okay or give you a kick in the butt when you need them to.
These are the friends who celebrate your successes, celebrate your ah-has and
also celebrate your business screw-ups. But, the truth is that you can really
outgrow people around you. It's sad, but true. If you're working on your mindset,
your business and your money blocks, sometimes your fellow Lady Posse aren't
really doing it as well. You might outgrow them soon if you haven't already.
What happens next? Well, you need to upgrade if you want to grow. If you're in
my Money Boot Camp, you know that we talk about upgrades a lot. Upgrades are
one of the techniques you can use to get closer to living your first class life – the
one that's going to make you feel abundant and like a money magnet – and you do it
incrementally. How do you use that to upgrade your Lady Mafia? First of all,
I want you to have a really honest check about who you're hanging out with.
Are these friends who maybe have said they want to start a business, but maybe
they moan about it or they can't quite decide what to do or it's too hard and
they don't get through the resistance? Maybe they say they'll do things, but it
takes them months to actually get into action. Maybe they're big on ideas,
but they don't actually do it and have lots of excuses why.
If you're on fire with ideas and enthusiasm, but your Lady Mafia likes to sit around
and winge, then you're just not an energetic match anymore.
I'm really sorry, but it's likely that they'll start to bring you down or keep you at a plateau.
When that happens, you might have decreased business motivation and that's
going to reflect in your bottom line. Even if you're not in business right now,
that kind of energy can really stop your manifesting mojo in its tracks.
What do you do? First of all, check your own energy. The first thing to do when
you suspect that it might be time to find or upgrade your Lady Mafia is to check in
with your own energy when you think about the people around you.
You don't even have to meet up with the group in person or have in person Lady
Mafia to think about this. Think about your business groups. You might have a
drop in your energy when you think about them or when you participate in those groups.
Maybe you're kind of always irritated about what people are posting or what
they're talking about. Maybe you're even eye rolling about some of the moaning or
complaining that you see happening in there. Or, you just think, "I don't want to
hang out with these bitches anymore." These are all signs that it's time to think
about upgrading the people around you. You might think, "Denise, you are way harsh.
These people are my friends and I can't just get rid of them." That's not what I'm saying.
All I'm saying is your mindset is the most important thing to success in your
business and manifesting your first class life. Sometimes you do outgrow friends on the
way to leading this life that you're consciously manifesting for yourself.
When you're in business, it's no different. You might outgrow some of your
mastermind buddies or some of your business forums. If you're unsure about
how to find another Lady Mafia to master- mind with, it's totally, totally possible.
You might think, "Where are these people? I don't know where they are." Well, open
yourself up to it. If you need to upgrade, I've got some ideas for you on how you can do it.
First of all, don't just think that everyone in your business groups are a write-off.
Some people might want to go with you. You could suggest that you all study a
mindset or a manifesting course together – for example, one of my courses – or
you could read a book together – like one of my books like Get Rich, Lucky Bitch for example.
Remember, you can't make everybody take the journey with you, but you also
can suggest stuff. You can give them a chance to get on the manifesting train
with you. But, if it takes a lot of energy to keep everyone motivated and enthused,
maybe it's not worth it and you have to face the fact that it's time to cut your ties
to some of those groups. It could be as simple as leaving a Facebook page,
leaving a Facebook group, not going to meetups anymore or arranging other
activities for yourself. Now, this might sound really hard right now, but you have
to clear the space sometimes and create a vacuum and then get really specific
about what you want and then it will happen fast. If you actually feel like
you need help in manifesting, whether it's finding new friends, finding a new Lady
Mafia or getting some new business acquaintances or even clients, I've got

At the heart of Downtown, on the top of the Langford Hotel, stands Miami's "bar of the year".
Well known by Downtown's regulars, Pawn Broker is the perfect place for a happy hour.
Indoor's great, but outdoor... spectacular! The skyline sight is breathtaking.
And what about the food and drinks? Their menu drove me crazy.
Benjamin, the manager, walked us through everything. Bits by bits.
But what's most cool is that every drink brings a little twist. This one, exclusive to St. Patrick's Day,
had real gold in it!
When it comes to popularity, there's a clear winner:
The drink, a Gin and Tonic, comes in a little bathtub, a throwback to the Prohibition era, where americans would produce their drinks in a bathtub.
And this unusual way to drink makes people laugh, hence the name "giggle water".
This one comes inside a Pineapple and it's so cute! I have to try it.
This one has white chocolate... I think they're trying to get me drunk, guys!
The food is delicious, it's hard to point out what's best, but I really liked this Mushroom Quesadilla with Guacamole
The Grilled Ribs, the mac n'cheese balls, and Benjamin's favourite:
What enchanted me the most about Pawn Broker was its mix of elegant and laidback.
It's like every detail was thought out with one intent: to make people come together and have a good time.
To have a good time the way they want it: indoor with a DJ...
Outdoors, watching a classic movie projected on the side of a neighbour building wal...
(the day we were there, "Rocky" was screening)
It's easy to see why Pawn Broker was named the Bar of the Year 2016 in Miami.
