A senior U.S. Federal Reserve official says he expects one or two more rate hikes this
year.
Speaking at a banking conference in Frankfurt on Wednesday,...
Chicago Fed President Charles Evans said the fundamentals of the U.S. economy are good...
and he called for additional increases in short-term interest rates in 2017.
Evans added that economic growth should be stonger than originally forecast over the
next few years.
If his forecasts hit the mark, Evans said he expects three more rate hikes in 2018.
This would bring the federal-funds rate up to two percent by the end of next year.

The Formula of Everything - XYZ? - Duration: 15:53.
What can we benefit from the implementation process of ALAMTOLOGI knowledge?
What is the aim and what can be done with ALAMTOLOGI knowledge?
While the world has been occupied with so many disciplines and knowledge
in various fields including technology, science, social, economy and so on.
ALAMTOLOGI is not introduced to give a rival to any conventional knowledge
but it focuses on gaining an optimum result by humans or X.
When the understanding process is different, so is the implementation process.
The difference is not measured by pointing out who is the reason for anything to happen,
and yet difference is looked by how beneficial the process is for the people.
We implement and study any particular
formula or existing theory so that we could witness the benefit it brings to all.
From such process, we will bring that particular value forward.
For example,
we invest certain amount of money into any particular companies.
It might be a few billion or trillions.
But, what is the real outcome? This concept applies the same in all other industries like oil and gas,
technology, medicine and so on.
Therefore, ALAMTOLOGI has no intention to start a new concept or mission to be achieved by academicians or researchers,
but it focuses on gaining an optimum result by humans or X.
Basically, that is ALAMTOLOGI's final aim too,
but the only difference that we have is on how do we do it.
From there, comes the formula of XY and Z.
Technically, there is a lot of things and ideas that could be brought into discussion through ALAMTOLOGI
In this book.
This is the book that I have organised its main layout of explanation to verify the theory of XY and Z.
There are 7 specific chapters or topics as the syllabus of ALAMTOLOGI.
ALAMTOLOGI is a formula XYZ.
ALAMTOLOGI emphasising on adding the value for the current industries.
As for instance, the study about space.
ALAMTOLOGI could reveal the hidden secret of space and time through XYZ formula.
Nonetheless, agriculture sector also has no less benefits from XYZ formula
ALAMTOLOGI also studied and discovered the adding value or system for agriculture food sector.
Maybe ALAMTOLOGI could be a helping hand for the scientists and great scholars
to discover a bigger secret in a more clear and apparent method.
Through this combination, we could produce.
10 times more than the usual production.
This is the closest mechanism of ALAMTOLOGI
in medical field for instance,
ALAMTOLOGI has already come up with the syllabus.
There are orders for each topic, first, second and so on.
Thus, this is the first book that we publish for all,
and there will be a lot more books to be published.
This book has the value of knowledge and it is not any novels.
This is not a novel book.
Neither a fiction or mystery book.
It is a scientific book with technical references.
Calculations are also compiled to explain the disciplines discussed in the book.
On how ALAMTOLOGI view creation process, elements and so on.
This puts ALAMTOLOGI as a new discipline that
could be benefited by the current systems
That is the main difference between ALAMTOLOGI and conventional.
So, do we need to learn ALAMTOLOGI?
ALAMTOLOGI is introduced after seeing the current situations. It has nothing to do with emotions.
The reality or problems from an economic point.
The problem on finding solutions or cures in the healthcare system.
In social point too, it is too chronic.
For me, it does not matter if we agree or we do not.
We have to look for the solution for all of this problems.
ALAMTOLOGI is proposing a perspective
about what i said earlier on all those factors that
it is time for a change on how we look at every single thing
and it is time to resolve the puzzles and problems that have been haunting all of us for decades.
ALAMTOLOGI is a combination of two root words, ALAM and TOLOGI.
When both root words are combined, ALAMTOLOGI is named.
ALAMTOLOGI analysed and explains what is in the region or space of Z.
Z is the Universe.
X is located within the Z.
X moves only within the Z region.
This means we are living in a nature, space. The universe.
No matter of where in the Universe we are at, we will still be in the same region,
so ALAMTOLOGI is the combination of two root words, ALAM and TOLOGI.
Then comes the knowledge about Universe.
It is knowledge of the Universe, but why did I choose ALAMTOLOGI as the terminology?
This happened in the year 2006 or 2007.
In that year ALAMTOLOGI was introduced by its name.
Previously, ALAMTOLOGI was not given any names
What is being called ALAMTOLOGI today is not just a specific name
It was an implementation operation that I do
in my efforts to complete all the process that I witnessed and studied.
For example, when I am involved in the aviation field.
I was able to see how to apply the system that I have I understood
and eventually led me to think of what I should be doing next.
I used the knowledge that I have at that particular time
to find for solutions in developmental process and that is ALAMTOLOGI.
Until then, in the year 2006 or 2007,
ALAMTOLOGI was introduced. And today ALAMTOLOGI is complete with its syllabus and disciplines.
It becomes the specific guidance for individuals or groups
who would like to have a direct study or research of ALAMTOLOGI,
or it could also become the specific guidance for who would like to have a study of other things
but using ALAMTOLOGI as a reference.
It will become an adding value for the research or finding of theirs.
ALAMTOLOGI
is the formula of XYZ.
I have explained a little bit about XYZ in my part 1 video.
Who is X?
Who is Y?
and who is Z?
How about their positions?
Thus,
In this situation,
ALAMTOLOGI does not look at conventional as core approach.
ALAMTOLOGI does not use conventional discipline as its core system.
Because, conventional core system is based on opinions
It happened thousand years back
and it will always have a developer.
A developer from a perspective of one person.
Say from Socrates
and Aristotle.
Socrates developed a thought or philosophy to express
to the world what he understood.
His understanding is then learned and explained by his student, Plato.
Then, Plato develop his own philosophical thought based on what he understood from Socrates.
The method of explaining might differ but their base or core system was still the same.
It was then continued by Aristotle and the next few other philosophers.
Finally, it reaches to the level of nation beliefs
like the Chinese dynasty, Indians, Greek, Arabs and Parsi.
They were the old-time scientists.
They had their writings in orders,
as well as spectacular achievements.
Also, how did they understand the structure and position of stars?
How did they understand the surrounding as the answer or solution for what they were seeking for?
That is how evolution process happens.
It is just that, based on what I looked from ALAMTOLOGI point of view,
everything is connected to the same thing.
In mathematics for instance,
The basic of Mathematics from the early stage starts on the concept of logic.
The common factor that is being used is logic. It goes back to the concept of logic.
Then, there were some changes made, and yet it still goes back to the same concept.
Everything goes back to the same aspect.
At the end of the day,
every researcher started to produce their own logics,
with their own ideas
Algorithm, algebra and more.
And it is based on the mentioned situation,
which these theories was created with its own followers, then becoming an academician
For example, Einstein had his own theory,
Al-Khawarizmi had his own theory,
Ibnu Sina had his own theory,
and
Stephen Hawking who is still alive now, also has his own theory.
What is happening now is the fact that their theories are being studied by their students.
The students research and studies on what they understood and translated by the founder of the theory.
In this book, there is a discussion of this issue that I will be focusing on.
It will not be a lot, but, it can still be read. There are explanations regarding.
Thus,
differences in ALAMTOLOGI
ALAMTOLOGI does not take the basis concept earlier.
ALAMTOLOGI looks at XY and Z as the core concept,
which is by looking around.
Look and think about the occurrence of day and night,
and how the stars are moving around
or look at the position of the star as a reference of a navigation
for the purpose of moving from one place to another
ALAMTOLOGI does not look at the correlation to what is being developed to X.
Conventional knowledge looks at X as a lesson that is different which gives different inputs
But, is it being used as a whole in general?
Then, a theory called Probability Theory came to existence and was being utilised.
The probability of this, and that.
Teachers, Lecturers, scientists will translate the their own theories and philosophy of it
Then, we have a group of people that creates their own philosophies.
So, they will all have their own specific philosophies.
From there knowledge is evolved and the people will see what they have achieved.
This concept differs from ALAMTOLOGI,
ALAMTOLOGI looks at Z.
Z is the source to the development of ALAMTOLOGI knowledge
When we look and observe Z, what do we get?
We will get,
perfection.
The natural occurrence is very perfect to its own position,
we look at how the stars move around,
other planets move in such coordinations with no collision between one another.
It has its own specific position that is accurate.
Location of the sun for instance is so perfect for the well being and survival of humans.
Everything occurs in order including the sun. If it moves 1 inch away from the nature pattern of Universe,
disaster for the humans will definitely appear.
That is how ALAMTOLOGI looks at things.
That is how ALAMTOLOGI elaborates,
and that is how I elaborate it as the founder of ALAMTOLOGI.
Do I have teachers who taught me about ALAMTOLOGI?
I was not taught by anyone, I learned from my surroundings.
Therefore, my teachers to the Universe itself. This is because it refers to the Z factor.
The process and configuration of Z factor will show
if we have done the right and accurate operation within the right position or vice versa.
There, Z has eventually verifies its role to human, as the reference for their survival.

To till or Not to Till? That is the Question. - Duration: 36:43.
To till or not to till.
That's the tough question that I'm going to be addressing in this presentation.
It was the topic that I was asked to talk about
at the Ecological Farming Conference that was in California this past January
and also at this California Climate and Agriculture Summit
that was a UC Davis in February of this year.
It's important to keep in mind when I'm talking about this
that I actually have a lot of experience not in no- till systems
but in highly tilled systems. So in these two pictures here this is
more typical of what I work in.
This is a vegetable production system
and this system here's another one that I work in
which is strawberry production. And even in these we do a lot of tillage
so just keep that in mind as I go through his presentation that I actually have a lot more experience with highly
tilled systems than I do with no tilled systems.
I like this quote and I think it's an important one to kind of start a presentation like this because one of the reasons we're interested in reducing tillage
is because we want to make sure they were taking good care of our soil.
And I think it's important keep in mind that there really is just a thin layer on our planet that stands between us and starvation.
Now we also have to manage our water resources well.
This is a picture from California showing one of the reservoirs that was filled up with water this
past winter. So that's an important part of sustainability and preventing
major catastrophes in our agricultural systems. But also we need to keep in mind the
the climate. The thicker layer that surrounds our planet
which helps to allow us to farm productively. And we also need to acknowledge that us humans are having a
major effect on our climate. We're causing it to change and we need to carefully think about
that and figure ways so we can reduce our negative impacts on our climate.
I want to take you a little bit of a trip in his presentation, at least in the introduction. And what were going to do
is we're going to get onto this Hawaiian sailing canoe and sail over to Hawai'i.
This is actually a canoe which is on this voyage
and what the voyages is focused on is trying to set a course for a sustainable future.
This is something that I think is important for us to think about both in the water as well as on land.
And let's just assume that our canoe lands on this beach.
This is on the island of O'ahu.
It's a beach that I like quite a lot. It's over and the Kailua area. And you'll see these beautiful
scenes like this. But if you look carefully into the sand you'll see a lot of pieces of plastic
these are called micro plastics.
And they're clear evidence that us humans are having an effect on our environment.
And that's kind of an interesting analogy that I'd like to is draw on for this presentation.
What I'm going to do today is I'm going to show you little pieces of evidence to try to
get at this question of whether or not we should or should not be tilling in our agricultural systems.
So kind of keep that picture in your mind as we go through this.
Now an important thing that I often think of when I'm trying to understand a new area for
myself and I would consider
I wouldn't consider myself an expert and no-till at all. I would actually say that I'm pretty ignorant about it and so I went to the scientific
literature and here's a bunch of different titles that I read
and which I found helpful in understanding this. You might want to check these out as well.
One of the real interesting ones is this one is titled 'The soil carbon dilemma: shall we hoard it or use it?'
And it's kind of a neat idea because what the author Janzen
describes is thinking about soil carbon kind of like water in a dam. We can have that water be stored
or we can let that water out and it can actually generate some electricity, and some energy and do some work for us.
And the dilemma with soil carbon is that it's often most functional as it's being transformed
from solid carbon into...as it's decomposing really going back into CO2. And that's the dilemma we have is
should we hoard it or should we use it?
Well I think you may enjoy this paper where the author talks about that very eloquently.
Now before we talk about what may happen when we move from highly tilled systems like this in Salinas California into a
reduced tillage type system like this,
I think it's important to think about some of the benefits of tillage 'cause there are some benefits obviously.
It can reshape our landscape. These are two pictures one from Indonesia this is Bali Indonesia and this is Nepal.
And what you can notice in both of these is... people have put a lot of work into trying to transform these landscapes
to create these beautiful bench terraces which allowed them to reduce soil erosion and therefore farm those areas much more
sustainable than if it didn't have these structures.
So that's clearly a very intensive form of tillage and one which has allowed people to farm in
areas that they normally would not been able to farm.
Now another real important part of tillage is adding organic matter back to the soil and these three shots here show
some parts of that in Papua New Guinea where I grew up. So this man is making sweet potato mounds which will be filled with organic matter
like previous crop residue or weeds or different types of organic matter in the center of the mound.
And then as that material decomposes it will be releasing nutrients which are
helping subsequent crop like sweet potatoes to grow.
So incorporating organic matter into the soil allows that to decompose and then provide a lot of benefits for us.
Now another real obvious benefit of tillage is to reduce compaction
This picture down here shows a lettuce harvest in Salinas and you can see how we've got these big ruts left in the fields from the harvest operation.
And here's another example of this and a broccoli field. So after harvesting broccoli or lettuce we often have real rutted up fields
and we need to try to get rid of this compaction in these areas so that it doesn't create problems for our next crops.
Another reason that we would incorporate or use tillage in the systems would be.... say you have a crop failure.
For some reason this spinach crop wasn't harvested
It could be several reasons maybe it had disease in it that that wasn't... didn't make the crop marketable. And so they need to quickly
turn this field around and the easiest way to do that is to come in and till out this spinach so they
can get this field ready for the next crop of vegetables.
Now very obvious reason for tillage that I'm sure a lot of people think about is reducing weeds. What we don't to have is we don't want
a situation like this in romaine lettuce where we've got a lot of weeds. The weed here is burning nettle
and this is a real challenging weed to work with because it will actually sting you and your hands
or on any of your sensitive skin. And so we don't want situations like this and therefore we put a
lot of time and effort into tilling those systems with a
special cultivator like this and also using hoes to take out those weeds.
Those are forms of tillage that are very important in these vegetables systems.
Now there are many problems with tillage and these four pictures show some of those problems.
When we till the soil we can create a lot of dust and that
degrades the air quality. Also when we've got bare fields from tillage
we can have a lot of soil erosion, a lot of nutrient loss, and that's not very good. And that can lead to fields like this in Thailand where I
worked where you lost yields because so much of this topsoil had eroded off.
And of course when we till our agricultural soils
it takes a lot of energy and that actually can create problems
because we're actually letting a lot of CO2 backup into the air from the use of the fossil fuels, the excessive use of fossil fuels.
One of the publications that are listed on the reading list has is very nice figure that talks about some milestones in agriculture
and the development of different tillage tools and tillage practices over time. I think you might enjoy checking this out.
I've been interested in tillage tools for quite a long time and here's three that I've collected in
different parts of the world where I've either lived and traveled. The first one here this is a
hoe from Nepal. This would have been what they might have used to make some of those bench terraces. This over here is a
short handled hoe from Zambia. They also make longer handled versions of this. This is in Southern Africa.
And this center one this is a digging stick from Papua New Guinea where I grew up.
And this would have been used for harvesting sweet potatoes.
In general I think that when people were using these types of tillage tools where all the energy to make the tool work
came from food that they had eaten. It's unlikely that they were tilling excessively.
I generally think that when we started sitting on tractors and using fossil fuels
that's probably when the excessive tillage began. Just something to keep in mind as we think about tillage in different parts of the world
and whether or not we should or should not be tilling.
Let's look at a little bit of data here. So this is
a graph taken from a paper that describes changes in soil organic of carbon, on the Y axis
and how the changed over a period of intensive vegetable production. So you can see early on
before that field had been cultivated when it was just naturally
left on its own, the soil organic carbon levels were quite high and that over time they've dropped
especially during say the first 10 to 20 years... big drop there.
And they slowly start to kind of stabilize but
there's a big decline. And that just shows how intense vegetable production can be quite challenging or
have a real negative effect on soil organic carbon levels in these fields.
This is a very dramatic shot that shows that in a different way.
So this picture was taken from this publication here
and this pipe in the center, this white pipe was actually... the soil surface was up here
in about 1923 when this pipe was installed. The pipe goes right down to the bedrock and this soil in this farmed area
had been drained. So it was a very high organic matter soil and it had been drained and then put
into sugar cane cultivation. And you can see that about 1.5 m
several feet of topsoil had subsided here. So a lot of that subsidence has to do with the fact that
in this soil, carbon was being burned up through the drainage of the soil and then the
cultivation of the sugar cane that followed.
Okay so now that we've seen very clearly that intensive tillage as you can see in this graph here has a
major negative effect on soil carbon or soil organic matter,
I want to move on to talk and show you some data on how conventional tillage would compare with say no-till.
So to help to understand what I mean by no-till let me show you this nice graphic. This graphic I think provides a
very clear illustration of the differences between no-till agriculture
conservation tillage and then conventional tillage.
So the data that I'm going to show you is comparing
conventional tillage with no-till. So these are on opposite sides of this spectrum
with conservation tillage being somewhere in the middle. So in a conventional tillage system in this
case this would be an example with corn-soybean crop rotations
in the U.S. you can see there's many many different tillage passes, one with the moldboard plow then with a disc
then a field cultivator and then different harrows and things like that.
Whereas with a no-till system
the only real tillage that occurs, and there is a small amount of tillage that does occur,
and that's when you plant the seeds in just a small slot where the seed is drilled into the soil
that's the only
time that the soil is disturbed. Other than that you just apply an herbicide to kill the weeds, you
you plant the crop with a no-till seeder, you apply an herbicide
in this case this would be in a conventional situation to control weeds again
and then you come in and harvest.
So as you can imagine there's a lot more crop residue on the surface here in this no till system.
Now in a conservation tillage system there's generally about 30% or more surface residue
there still is tillage in it but it's far less than say in the conventionally tilled system.
So if you're interested in understanding these differences I suggest that you have a closer look
at this nice illustration because I think it really
it does a good job of, in a nutshell, showing the differences between these different systems.
Okay so what happens when you move from a convention tilled system like this
into a no-till or a reduced tillage system?
Well there's a lot of things that can change
Let's look a little bit at some more data.
So this shows long-term organic soil carbon level changes
as we go from say
taking an area into cultivation
and then going into some kind of an improved management practice.
So you can see this is the soil organic cabon level at the beginning
its natural level it would not have been changing very much
and then we start doing some kind of cultivation and right away just like I showed you on that previous slide it drops down.
This is because the input of carbon is less than the decomposition rate
so you're getting a quick loss of organic matter in these system.
And then eventually the levels of input of soil carbon and the decomposition rate kind of equal each other so that we get a steady state system.
And then we start some new practice, maybe its cover cropping
and we start to get an increase in soil organic carbon levels.
But notice it never really, kind of gets back up to this level here it stabilizes at some other level.
So keep in mind early on there is a quick decline or relatively quick decline and
before we get to another steady state it takes quite a bit of time
and the steady state that we reach generally does not usually go back to the original state when the system was not in agriculture.
Okay, now I'm going to show you several different graphs that provide some interesting data on what happens
in a conventionally tilled system versus a no-till system.
And all the graphs are going to look somewhat similar to this, so I need to explain a few things here.
So this paper that this comes from they conducted a meta-analysis which is where they've taken the results of many many
different studies and they've combined them to try to get a whole bunch of information that's very robust.
This is the average point right here in this error bar right here represents a 95% confidence interval.
So this means that we can essentially be 95% confident
that the real number falls within this range here.
So it's a good way to estimate where an effect is.
Also I should point out that this 'n' here this indicates the number of observations
that went in to make this mean or this average and it's 95% confidence interval.
Now in these graphs if the average like this falls on this side, then this would mean that conventional tillage is better
And if the average falls on this side than it would mean that no-till is better.
So this first one we're looking at the mean difference in soil organic carbon
in conventional versus no-tilled systems. And you can see that...
oh actually I should point out what the zero is. So the zero would indicate
no change, okay, so no change there. Let's look at what's happening in say the top of top say 5 centimeters of depth of the soil.
So at 5 cm it's very clear that there's an increase in the
mega grams of carbon per hectare. So we've got about 3 Mg of carbon per hectare more in the no-till system.
This makes sense because there's a lot of residue on the soil surface.
Now when you look say 25 centimeters down, the situations not that clear, well actually it's the opposite it is relatively clear here
in this data. So we can see further down actually the the conventionally tilled systems
have got more carbon stocks at that depth.
What I want you to just kind of take away from this graph is that the sampling depth at which you
measure the effects of a conventional tilled system or a no-till system has a huge effect on how you would interpret
the data. When were looking near the soil surface no-till looks better.
But when we go a little bit deeper, conventional till looks better.
And actually when we go really deep say 45 to 55 cm
it doesn't look like there's much of a difference.
So I hope this is helping to you to understand the complexity of this issue of soil carbon sequestration.
So I hope this is helping to you to understand the complexity of this issue of soil carbon sequestration.
If were interested in sequestering carbon in the soil we have to really look carefully at different depths within the soil
and this paper really helped me to understand that complexity.
In that reading this I also listed this paper which is another one that kind of opened up my eyes to a new
way of thinking about stabilizing soil organic carbon in the soil
So let me try to walk you through this a little bit and hopefully I'll be able to explain this kind of new way of thinking about
soil carbon sequestration.
So let's start with this middle section here
as you I'm sure are aware there's many different qualities of soil or of plant litter that one can add to the soil.
You can add say leaves of legumes, things that are very easily decomposed. And then you can also add, on the other end of the spectrum
things like wood chips or more lignified material
And my initial way of thinking about carbon additions to the soil was that this type of material that decomposed slowly
would tend to increase soil organic matter more than
this material that would decompose more quickly.
However, this paper talks about... sort of a different way of thinking about this.
When plant litter that decomposes easily which we call 'labile' organic matter
When that decomposition process is occurring
there's a lot of decomposition products that are being produced
and those decomposition products are actually what's leading then down to more stable forms of soil organic matter in certain situations.
And this is compared to say the more lignified or the more woody materials
those don't have as many decomposition products and therefore their ability to
build up stable forms of soil organic matter
is not as great as say this material here.
The other thing that's intriguing is that these more labile or easily decomposed forms of organic matter or plant litter also tend to cause
less carbon fluxes or releases compared with these materials.
So as you think about soil carbon sequestration
I want you to try to keep this model in mind, or this framework
and I encourage you to go and check out this paper. I found it very intriguing.
I want to now move on and talk a little bit about how
no-till versus conventional till systems affect yield.
Okay let's look at another one of these graphs from another meta-analysis.
So we're looking at the effects of conventional till versus no-till on yield.
And this is taken from a large number of studies .... so 678 studies and about 6000 observations.
within those studies were what's used to make up this first data point.
So overall, over a whole bunch of different crops
generally, you can see this this dot here indicates the average,
generally what the data is showing is that
averaged across many different crops
conventional tilled systems
have about say 5 percent greater yield then no tilled systems.
Now if you look down say for oilseed or cotton type systems
the difference doesn't seem to be very much.
Maybe a slight indication that no-till might be a little bit better but this average this middle point is pretty much right on zero.
With legumes there's pretty much a clear difference or indication that
conventional tilled systems are better than no-tilled systems.
With root crops it's very dramatic say about 20% yield loss or greater yield
in a conventional tilled system versus a no tilled system.
So this really does show that the type of crop that you're talking about responds differently to no-till or tilled systems.
Here's another graph. Now we're going to look at the duration of the effect on yield.
So we've got here some studies that went for 1 to 2 years,
3 to 4 years, 5 to 10 years and then more than 10 years.
Again this is the the number of studies and then the number of studies...
I'm sorry this is the number of studies here, and this is the number of observations.
So studies that happened for say 1 to 2 years only, conventional did better
but over time if a study goes on for a longer period of time
the differences between tilled and no-tilled systems start to become less obvious.
So this data, the fact that the average is relatively close to zero would suggest that over time
averaged over many different crops
no-till and conventionally tilled systems may not have very big differences in their in their yield.
Okay let's look at one more graph from this meta-analysis and how no-till affects yield.
So what were going to look at here is the effect of climate.
In this graph what they've got is they're showing
tropical latitudes in the world, subtropical ones and then temperate latitudes.
And it should be quite clear right away that in tropical latitudes
conventional tillage generally yields quite a bit better than no-till does.
Whereas in temperate latitudes the differences between
conventional till and no-till are closer to zero. They still are generally favoring conventional till
but not near as much as is occurring in tropical latitudes.
So this just shows very clearly that where the tillage practices are done can have a huge effect on how the yields respond.
So just to kind of summarize a little bit, I've talked about two different meta-analyses
this first one where looked at whether or not no-till can stimulate carbon sequestration.
So generally what it showed me was it's a lot more complicated than just saying 'yes no-till is sequestering carbon.'
It really depends on the depth, and we probably ought to be sampling our soils much more deeply
like down to a meter so to see if the overall difference between tilled systems and no-till systems
really is that big of a difference.
Now the other meta-analysis that I talked about was this one where we looked at the effect of yield. We looked it overall a bunch of different
crops and then the effect of duration of the tillage practices and then also climate.
And I also encourage you to go and look at that paper in more detail.
Hopefully what this has shown you is that this question 'To till or not to till?' is a little more complicated
once you really get into the scientific literature and start looking at the data.
Now what I really want to focus on for the rest of this presentation is
some experiences that I've had with trying to reduce tillage in vegetables systems.
It's something that I think is really worthwhile trying to do but it's also pretty challenging.
So I'm going to talk about some of our experience with a roller-crimper and then with a mowed type system.
I want to explain the roller-crimper type system that we've been trying out at the USDA.
On the front 3 point hitch we've got a standard roller-crimper.
We've got that mounted on the front, we can raise and lower this as we need to
and that does a really good job of
crimping cover crops as we drive across the beds, and it crimps the cover crop that falls in the same direction as we're traveling.
Now one challenge that we have had sometimes is that
sometimes the cover crop falls parallel to these crimper blades and therefore
that material is not crimped very well by the front crimper.
So what we've done is we've taken a
tow attachment that can be used for say a grain drill
and we mounted a toolbar on the back of that
and so right now the tow attachment wheels are lifted off the ground and all the pressure is on these
this toolbar, and toolbar's got a series of
coulters, flutted coulters that are attached to that which have dulled blades. So the blades of these coulters have been dulled
and we're just towing this. And this allows us to crimp any material that falls perpendicular to the direction of the tractor's travel.
So between the front crimper
and then this rear tow type crimping system we're able to pretty much crimp material that falls in any direction.
So the idea in the system was that we would grow cover crops on beds like you can see here
and then we'd come in with our roller crimper
and we would crimp that down and then ideally we'd get this beautiful layer of mulch
right over the soil surface which would be suppressing weeds
and doing a bunch of other good things. And then we would be able to transplant say a romaine lettuce crop
into that and have a beautiful system.
So let me describe that in a little bit more detail.
In our systems these beds from center of this furrow to the center of this one would be about 80 inches wide.
And because our crimper works very well on the bed top we actually had to plant
something a little bit different in the furrow. We planted mustard.
And the mustard variety that we use has hollow stems and when we drive our tractors
in these furrows to crimp the bed top, the wheels are very effective at crimping the furrow mustard.
So here's a picture that shows our cover crop with the mustard in the furrows.
This is in January, the cover crop would have been planted in the previous year in the fall.
And you can see the rye has grown up quite nicely and the the mustard is here in the furrows.
Now let me show you what happens when we get in there and we crimp it.
So here's the tractor.
We don't have the rear crimper on there right now but we do use that.
So we've got the front crimper that's pushing down the cover crops on the beds
and then the wheels are crimping in the furrows and crimping off the mustard plants.
So this looked pretty good when we crimped it down.
But this is where we started to get concerned. About 54 days after we crimped this cover crop
we had all this green in the field and that green is essentially regrowth of a cover crop.
So the mustard in the furrows died very nicely
but the rye on the bed top
didn't die very well. Even though it was flowering when we crimped it we still had lots and lots of regrowth of our rye cover crop.
This really kind of got us concerned during the first year of the trial.
Now when we went to the second year
we tried this again and we actually had even worse results.
This time we got not just regrowth of cover crop but a massive amount of weed growth on these bed tops.
So these two experiences, that is the regrowth of the cover crop on the bed top and then massive amounts of weed growth coming up
through the cover crop mulch
really made us realize that the roller crimper
may not be the best tool for us to try to do a reduced tillage system in our vegetable systems.
So what we're trying now is a different system where we're
focusing on killing or controlling a cover crop's growth using a mower and then trying to kill it with another tool.
Let me kind of describe that.
So I've been working with my good friend Jim Leap on this. Jim is very good at understanding how different tillage tools work
and great at trying to innovate different methods.
And what we've been doing is we've been planting the rye on the bed top, these are again those 80 inch wide beds
and this case we're actually cultivating the furrows of the cover crop
and once the rye gets up, you know a certain height
we then start mowing it repeatedly.
And this kind of keeps the biomass under control so that it never kind of gets out of hand.
So here we're mowing the rye cover crop.
And then the idea is after we've mowed it several times as it's been growing
we then come in with this tool which is.. it's got rippers here in the furrow
there's actually a residue manager to clean out some of the furrow area
and there's a large flat coulter which cuts through some of that residue and then there's a large ripper shank which
rips into the furrow bottom and that allows us to take this next tool which is an undercutter and undercut this entire bed so we're basically
cutting off the root systems of this rye cover crop on the bed using his undercutter.
The shanks of these under cutters extend down and then somewhere down into the soil here
about say 3 to 4 to 6 inches or so deep we've got our blade of the undercutter which extends underneath here
and basically cuts off the root systems of the rye.
I'm going to show you a little video clip of this working.
Okay so you can see the undercover is moving along very nicely and is undercutting
that residue or those rye cover crops on the surface
and leaving the rye right in place but undercutting it. So hopefully it we'll kill it.
Now in this situation this is rye planted on 40 inch beds, we had two lines on a 40 inch bed
but the same basic idea could also work potentially with rye planted on an 80 inch bed.
I'd like to conclude by answering the question to till or not to till in high value vegetable systems.
and I'd like to do that by bringing in a few more images. So at the beginning of the presentation
I talked about this need for us to set a course for sustainable future
We looked at some evidence from the scientific literature
and hopefully that's inspired you to go and look at some of that evidence for yourself.
I find this image to be one that I think is helpful to answer the question of whether or not we should or should not be tilling.
So this is a sailboat, I love sailing, and
if we turn the sailboat around what you'll see in the back of the sailboat is this
part of the sailboat right here which I'm holding in my right hand. This part of the boat is called the tiller.
And the tiller is one the most important parts of the sailboat because it controls the rudder.
And when I'm sailing a sailboat if I don't have access to the tiller, the boats completely out of control.
You have to very carefully use that tiller and by doing that you can set a course and get to where you want to efficiently.
Without a tiller the sailboat is pretty worthless.
I tend to think that in high value vegetable systems
we need to still need to be using tillage. I don't think we should be abandoning tillage.
But I think we do need to be careful with how we use it.
Make sure that we're using it in a thoughtful way.
And also move towards reducing tillage where possible.
I do however think that there's some real low hanging fruit in our vegetable systems
that we should focus more on then just completely eliminating tillage.
And probably the most obvious low hanging fruit that I can think of is
the need for us to increase cover cropping.
And that's true in both conventional as well as organic vegetable systems.
So this picture shows two different ways that we can add carbon
into these high-value, high-input vegetable systems.
One way to do it would be by bringing in carbon from an outside source such as using yard waste compost
that's a very convenient way to add carbon to our systems.
But the other way which is one that I think we actually should be focusing much more on
is on-farm carbon production.
The reason that I think we need to do that is that these on-farm sources of carbon
provide so many more benefits to maintain a healthy soil and these vegetables systems.
When we grow cover crops there's a whole bunch of other benefits and that's kind of
well described in this paper that was published in 2010.
And in that paper the authors talk about carbon friendly farming practices.
So when you grow a winter cover crop you are adding large amounts of carbon to the soil
but in addition to that you're also reducing nitrate leaching
You're increasing the infiltration of winter rainfall
and that will hopefully increase our groundwater recharge
and were also providing habitat for beneficial insects
so because of all these co-benefits from cover cropping
I think that cover cropping is such an obvious low hanging fruit, it's one that we really need
to focus more on in our agricultural systems.
And try to help farmers come up with ways that they can incorporate these as often as possible.
I think that will do a lot to improve the sustainability of these systems even if they have a fair bit of tillage in them.

The Atonement: Real or Potential? (Selected Scriptures) - Duration: 40:25.
As we come this morning to the Lord's table, I want us to think about the meaning of the
death of Christ.
For years now we have been working our way through the accounts of the gospels, Luke
and now Mark.
And maybe this morning to divert ourselves from that a little bit and think perhaps more
theologically about the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, we'll enrich us and enrich our
experience at the Lord's table today.
I want to begin by inviting you to turn to Revelation chapter 5...Revelation chapter
5.
We've engaged in worship this morning, the worship of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have sung of His love and our love to Him.
We will do this forever, by the way.
This is only a preview of what will be our experience every moment, every sleepless moment
of eternity we will be praising Him.
The book of Revelation gives us a glimpse into the praise of heaven.
In verse 9 of Revelation 5 we hear the very expression of praise that is lifted up.
It is a new song, the heavenly song, the new song being the song of salvation.
That's a phrase borrowed from the Psalms.
And the words go like this.
"Worthy are You," and this is sung to the Lamb that is slain mentioned in verse 6.
"Worthy are You to take the book and break its seals for You were slain and purchased
for God with Your blood, men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation, You have
made them to be a Kingdom and priests to our God and they will reign upon the earth."
And then it goes on in verse 12, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and
riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."
Again in verse 13, "To Him who sits on the throne, namely God, and to the Lamb be blessing
and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."
And the elders in verse 14 who represent the church fell down and worshiped.
Worshiping is the occupation of heaven.
And the worship will be directed at God out of gratitude for His saving plan effected
through the sacrifice of Christ.
You go back to verse 9 with me for a moment and keep in your mind this statement, "You
were slain and purchased for God with Your blood, men from every tribe and tongue and
people and nation."
What this tells us is that the core and the heart of heavenly praise is gratitude for
Christ's purchase of sinners for God.
When we come to the communion table, the Lord's table, we are looking at the cross and we
are looking at the great event, the great historical reality of Christ paying the price
to purchase for God His people.
Now when we talk about the death of Jesus Christ then we are talking about an actual
purchase.
We're not talking about a potential purchase, we're not talking about a general sort of
act on Jesus' part that may in the future become a purchase.
We are talking about a real purchase.
It is the act of Christ dying on the cross that pays the price to God, purchasing the
people who will be redeemed from every tribe and tongue and nation.
Now what I want you to put in your mind is that the death of Jesus Christ is an act by
which He purchases His people.
It is not a potential act, it is an actual act.
It is not a general act, it is a particular act.
Now all of that is very, very important because if you ask the average person for whom did
Christ die?
I think if you asked the average Christian, for whom did Christ die?
If you asked most pastors, for whom did Christ die?
The answer would be, "For everybody, for everyone."
That's the typical belief.
You hear people say, "Christ died for the whole world," that means He died for every
human being.
And He wants you to receive that gift of His death personally on your own behalf.
Jesus paid the debt on the cross for everyone's sins, He paid the debt in full, He loves everyone
equally.
He wants everyone to be saved.
And He waits for the sinner to turn a potential atonement into an actual atonement, or to
turn a general atonement into a particular atonement, and the sinner can do that by an
act of the sinner's will.
So much of evangelism is driven at the sinner's will, crafted, manipulated to bring the sinner
to a certain place emotionally, psychologically that he will activate his own will and accept
what Christ has done and therefore turn a potential and general atonement into an actual
and particular atonement.
So that view is that Jesus' death on the cross was a death for everyone in general...listen...but
a death for no one in particular.
Okay?
That's the view.
That is the standard view.
We would call it an Arminian view but it's the standard view, He died for everyone in
general and no one in particular.
In fact, you have the most popular Christian book in the last ten years, the author says,
"I can lead anyone to Christ if I find the key to that person's heart."
So it all depends on our technique and how good we are at identifying what moves people
psychologically and emotionally.
Now let's think about that a little bit.
We need to work on sinners to get them to receive the salvation already purchased for
them.
That's the idea.
That's the popular idea.
The fallout of that idea is pretty serious.
That means that hell is full of people whose salvation was purchased, right?
That if in fact Christ paid for the sins of everyone who has ever lived, their sins were
paid for.
He died for their sins.
He was a substitute for their sins, therefore hell is full of people whose salvation was
purchased, whose sins were paid for by Christ.
The Lake of Fire then will be filled with eternally damned people who suffer forever
for their sins, even though those sins were already paid for.
Christ then atoned and bore the punishment for the sins of the people in hell in the
same way He did for the sins of the people in heaven.
So the only difference between the people in heaven and the people in hell is that the
people in hell are suffering double jeopardy on a legal level, their sins already being
paid for in full and yet they're there suffering for sins that have already been paid for,
and they're there because they didn't have the sense or somebody didn't make the right
approach to activate them emotionally and mentally to turn the potential atonement of
Jesus into an actual one.
Therefore, the people in heaven can spend eternal life congratulating themselves, or
congratulating whoever it was that moved them emotionally or psychologically to make the
right call.
Does that sound like biblical theology?
Did Jesus Christ do the exact same thing for all the people in hell that He did for all
the people in heaven?
And is the only difference that the people in heaven are in heaven because they of their
own will activated a general atonement and turned it into a specific one, or a particular
one?
That is strange theology, that Jesus died for the sins of the redeemed and He died for
the sins of the damned.
That He paid the penalty for everyone in full and the sinner is in hell because of the sinner's
failure to make the right call on his own condition.
The bottom line in that is you have just not only created chaos at every level of soteriology
but particularly for our discussion, you have redefined the atonement.
And if there's anything we want to understand when we come to the Lord's table, we better
understand the atonement.
We could talk about the foundational doctrine to understand with regard to salvation and
that is total depravity, right?
The sinner is unable and unwilling, that he's a block and a stone, he's a rock, he's dead,
he's blind, he's in the darkness, he's alienated from the life of God, he doesn't desire God,
he doesn't seek God, he doesn't want God.
There's no way to get to the right decision to activate the atonement on his behalf if
it depends on him.
So, we have a major problem if we think that the sinner has the wherewithal within himself
to crawl up out of his own casket, spiritually speaking, to open his own blind eyes, to throw
off the blindness that Satan has imposed upon him, to literally overturn the normal dominating
lust of his own heart and somehow make the right move toward Christ.
This is a failure to understand the essence of depravity.
What it really means is, the sinner is both unable and here's the most important one,
unwilling.
He can't will it and he couldn't do it if he could will it.
You can't make the final atonement up to the sinner or you have Jesus dying for everybody
in general and nobody in particular.
And therefore you've redefined what it means that He purchased us.
The notion that God loves everybody so much that He gave His Son for everybody but only
in some kind of limited way, some kind of marginal way, some kind of half way is contrary
to what the Bible teaches.
And the idea that God has done in full for the people in hell, the very same thing He's
done for the people in heaven, is just not possible...just not possible.
The Bible says that all people are dead in trespasses and sin, alienated from the life
of God, doing only evil continually, unwilling and unable to understand, repent and believe.
They have darkened minds, blinded by sin and Satan, hearts full of evil, wicked and desiring
only the will of their father who is none other than Satan, unable to seek God.
Now how do you get from there to finding in yourself the power to activate a sort of potential
atonement that Jesus has offered?
We have therefore the power of salvation in the hands of the sinner.
That's just not consistent with Scripture.
John 1 doesn't take long looking in the gospel of John to find this out, chapter 1 verse
12, "As many as received Him, as many as received Him"..listen..."to them He gave the exousia,
the power to become children of God even to those who believe in His name."
Look, if anybody believes in His name, if anybody receives Him, it is because He gave
them the power.
They were born, verse 13 says, not of blood, that is not because of some inheritance humanly
speaking, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man but of God.
If anyone receives, if anyone believes, it is because it is the will of God by which
God Himself has given the power to the sinner to become His child.
Ephesians 2:8 and 9, "For by grace are you saved, through faith that not of yourselves,
it is the gift of God."
It is, 1 Corinthians 1:30, by God's power that you are Christ's, by His power so that
if you glory, you glory in Him.
If you have life, it is from God.
If you have light, it is from God.
If you have sight, it is from God.
If you have understanding, it is from God.
If you have repentance, it is from God.
If you have faith to embrace Christ, it is from God.
It is the work of God.
God alone can give life.
God alone can regenerate.
And it is the power of God alone that brings salvation to the sinner.
Now to whom does God do this?
For whom does He do this?
It is for those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life from before the foundation
of the world.
By His eternal choice bound up in the glorious truth of sovereign election, God has determined
to save certain people and it is for those certain people that Jesus paid an actual price,
that Jesus rendered an actual atonement, that He was an actual propitiation or covering,
or satisfaction for the wrath of God, that He provided a specific and particular redemption
for His people...for His people.
A potential atonement, the result of that would be...who would be saved?
No one, really, if it was left to the sinner because the sinner is unable.
Just to seal this a little deeper perhaps in your mind.
I want you to look at John chapter 10, John chapter 10, the importance of this particular
passage cannot be overstated.
John 10 verse 11, "I am the Good Shepherd, the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the
sheep.
I am the Good Shepherd.
The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."
Verse 14, I am the Good Shepherd, I know My own and My own know Me.
Even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father and I lay down My life for the sheep.
I have other sheep which are not of this fold, not Jewish but Gentile, I must bring them
also.
I must bring them."
Why?
"Because they are My sheep."
How did they become My sheep?
They are a love gift from a sovereign Father to Me.
"All that the Father gives to Me shall come to Me," John 6.
"And they will hear My voice and they will become one flock with one shepherd."
I mean, this is just a monumental statement.
"I know My sheep.
My sheep will know Me.
My sheep have been called and identified by My Father.
I receive them, they are My own, it is for them that I lay down My life."
Later in this same chapter, over in verse 25, Jesus answered His enemies and critics
by saying, "I told you and you do not believe the works that I do in My Father's name.
These testify of Me, but you do not believe because you are not of My sheep."
Wow!
"My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me and I give eternal life to
them and they will never perish and no one will snatch them out of My hand."
That cannot be more specific, can it?
Therein you have the words of the Lord Jesus Christ testifying to a specific atonement,
a particular redemption an actual substitutionary sacrifice for His sheep.
He knows them.
The Father has identified them.
They belong to Him by virtue of the Father.
They are drawn to Him.
They come to Him.
It is for them He died.
Now maybe this is some new thinking for you as you've heard, "For whom did Christ die?"
and maybe thought you could just give the standard answer, "He died for the whole world."
It has to be this, that He died for those who would believe because they would repent
and embrace Him since the Father would give them life because the Father had chosen them.
Those who believe are those whom God calls.
Those who believe are those whom God calls and grants repentance and faith.
Those who believe are those whom God calls and grants repentance and faith because they
are those whom God chose before the foundation of the world.
So someone would say, and I've been accused of this, and I accept it, "You believe in
a limited atonement."
That's like a swear word to some people, limited atonement, or swear phrase.
I do believe in a limited atonement and I am passionate about a limited atonement.
But then so do you.
And when anybody says, "I don't believe in a limited atonement," I say this to them,
"Then you believe that everyone who has ever lived will be in heaven, right?"
Well no.
Okay, so you do believe in a limited atonement.
Right?
The only question for you is, who limits it?
Who limits it?
Now if you want to believe that Jesus died and paid the penalty for all the sins of all
the people who ever lived, then I'll promise you this, all the people who ever lived would
have to show up in heaven to confirm your belief because if Christ indeed pay the sacrifice
in full for their sins, they will be in heaven unless Christ paying for your sins is something
that is in itself impotent.
You don't really want to land with an unlimited atonement or you're going to end up as a universalist
and you're going to deny the reality of hell.
But that's a little hard to deny, isn't it?
Since Jesus talked more about hell than He did about heaven, and talked about a Lake
of Fire and weeping and wailing and grinding of teeth and outer darkness, people gnashing
in pain and suffering.
In so many places in the Bible it talks about everlasting destruction.
Read 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 7, it talks about the Lord Jesus being revealed
from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire dealing out retribution on those who
don't know God and those who don't obey the gospel and they will pay the penalty of eternal
destruction away from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power.
That's a devastating statement.
And it was our Lord Jesus who said in John 8:24, "You're going to die in your sins because
you believe not in Me, you're going to die in your sins."
And again in the gospel of John, "You're going to die in your sins and where I go you'll
never comes."
Where are you going to go?
You're going to go into that horrible place called hell.
"If you believe not," John 3 says, "you're going to be judged."
"But if you believe, you will not be judged."
Why?
"Because your sins have already been judged."
So if you believe, that's evidence that your sins have been paid for by Christ.
Your sins have been judged.
If you do not believe, then you will be judged for your sins.
Look, the atonement is limited.
It is limited in its efficacy.
It is limited in its efficiency.
It is limited in its application.
It is limited obviously.
The only question is, who limits it?
And the only right answer is that God limits it and that He limited it in this sense, that
it was an actual payment in full of all the sins of all the people who would ever believe.
And the people who would ever believe would believe because of His mighty work on their
hearts based upon His sovereign eternal purpose.
Sinners have to believe, but they can't.
They have to repent, but they can't on their own until they are enabled by God.
When people ask me about my favorite Bible verse, a couple of them come to mind but very
often this one, 2 Corinthians 5:21, "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that
we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
He became sin for us, Paul says, for us.
He's writing to the church.
Now with that thought in mind, from 2 Corinthians, that same passage, back up in that same chapter
to verses 14 and 15 and this will help.
Paul writes, "The love of Christ controls us, having concluded this," and here comes
the point I want you to see, "that one died for all."
Now stop there.
"There it is," you say.
"There it is, He died for all."
Okay, that's what it says, I admit.
But who is the all?
The New Testament also says that all thought that John the Baptist was a prophet, does
that mean everybody on the planet?
No.
Anytime "all" is used, there is a point of reference.
All of a certain people that fit into a certain category then is defined for us.
"One died for all, therefore all died."
Hum....so He died for all who died.
And then verse 15, and again, "He died for all."
Who?
"So that they...this is the all...who live might no longer live for themselves but for
Him who died and rose again on their behalf."
Oh...so He died for all and who are the all that He died for?
All who died in Him.
And He died for all, and who are the all that He died for?
All who live in Him and it was for them that He died and rose again on their behalf.
There is the specificity of the atonement.
There is the actuality of the atonement.
There is the particularity of the redemption of Christ.
He died for all, the all being for all who died in Him.
He died for all, all being those who live in Him, remember Romans 6 that we are buried
in His death and we rise in His resurrection?
For all who died for Him, He died.
For all who rise in Him, He died.
It is for them He died and rose again.
I want you to understand, folks, there is reason that every moment of a sleepless eternity
you are going to be praising God for your salvation because it is all a work of God,
from beginning to end.
And the work that Jesus did on the cross was not a potential atonement that you activate,
it was not a general atonement that you particularized by an act of your will, it was a specific
atonement.
We all understand that it was limited, the only question is was it limited by the sinner
which not only gives the sinner way more power than the sinner has, but diminishes the essence
of the atonement and turns it in to some partial thing that has to be completed by human faith.
Or is it better to say, "God limited it with consistency with His own elective sovereign
purpose so that it was limited to be applied only to those who throughout history would
believe because they were given life by God Himself and for them He provided an actual
atonement.
I do not believe that Jesus Christ on the cross did the same thing for the people in
hell that He did for the people in heaven.
He died on our behalf.
Dear friend, you understand what it conveys to your mind and your heart to think about
that?
Those who say the atonement is unlimited don't mean it.
They really mean it's limited to those who believe but then that's not unlimited.
Of course it's limited.
But those who believe in an atonement that is unlimited really believe in an atonement
that's limited, but they also not only get their terms limited and unlimited confused,
they get the word atonement confused.
In a sense, they would turn the sacrifice of Christ on the cross into something like
an Old Testament animal sacrifice.
Did an Old Testament animal sacrifice save anybody?
No...no.
The Old Testament animal sacrifice didn't save anybody.
Was anybody in the Old Testament saved?
Yes, they believed, repentant in faith.
There had to be a heart issue that gave personal meaning to that sacrifice.
So is that the same with Jesus?
Did He die like an animal?
And in His death was there no particular atonement?
But if people get their hearts right, then somehow it can be applied to them?
That is such a convoluted view of the atonement that it begs discussion.
Christ did not pay for the sins of all the people who have ever lived in some impotent
way, only to be given power by the sinner, but father He gave an actual atonement, a
total atonement, a complete atonement bearing in His own body our sins, Peter says, in full
for all who would believe and all who would believe believed because of the power of God,
not by the will of man but by the power of God.
Hell is not full of millions of people whose sins were paid for in full, they just weren't
clever enough, wise enough, emotionally moved enough, psychologically stimulated enough
to actualize that atonement.
Hell is the place where unbelievers go and an atonement was not provided for them.
That doesn't lessen their culpability.
In the mysteries of God's mind, beyond our ability to understand, the sinner is still
fully responsible for his rejection.
So, you can't limit the atonement's power.
You can't limit the atonement's effectiveness.
You can't make it potential rather than actual.
It is a real true, full and complete provision for sin for all who will believe and all who
will believe will believe by the power of God.
Look at Isaiah 53, just a good place to see this laid out so magnificently in the Old
Testament.
Isaiah 53:4, this is talking about the language of real actual substitution.
"Surely our griefs He Himself bore, our sorrows He carried, yet we ourselves esteemed Him
stricken, smitten by God and afflicted, but He was pierced through not for His own transgressions
but for our transgressions.
He was crushed for our iniquities.
The chastening for our well being fell upon Him and by His scourging we are healed."
It is an effective atonement that Messiah will accomplish.
It is an effective atonement.
At the end of verse 6, "The Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him."
Verse 11, end of the verse, "My servant will justify the many as He will bear their iniquities."
For many...
At the end of verse 12, "He bore the sins of many and interceded for the transgressors."
It is a real atonement, a real sin bearing.
He is a genuine substitute sacrifice, feels the full fury of the wrath of God.
The angel said to Joseph, Matthew 1:21, "Call Him Jesus, for He will save His people from
their sins."
Now somebody is going to say, "What about...what about all the references in Scripture to the
world?
God so loved the world, gave His only begotten Son."
And there are many.
John 1:29, John the Baptist says, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of
the world."
What about that?
Well, first of all, you don't believe that He takes away the sins of the entire human
race through all time, right?
That's universalism and we know that can't happen because there is a hell and there is
judgment and the majority of people go there and the minority go to heaven.
So world has to mean something other than every human being that's ever lived.
And the simple answer is, it means humanity.
He is the Savior of the world in the sense that the world only has one Savior, right?
Whoever in the world who will be saved will be saved by the one Savior who is the Savior
of the world.
The world meaning beyond the narrow borders of Jewish life, even the Gentiles, humanity
in general.
He is the only Savior the world will ever know.
You say, "But wait a minute, there's another verse."
First John 2 says, "He's the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but the
sins of the whole world."
Well if He's propitiation for our sins, and also the whole world, then in what sense is
that true?
That's not...that's not difficult to interpret because you have an almost identical grammatical
construction in the eleventh chapter of John out of the most unlikely mouth of the high
priest, John 11.
Caiaphas is speaking and he says, "You know nothing at all," verse 50, John 11, "do you
take into account that it's expedient for you that one man die for the people and the
whole nation not perish?"
He was really talking politically there.
Verse 51, "Nor did He...Now He did not say this on His own initiative, but being high
priest that year he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation...listen to
this...and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into
one the children of God who are scattered abroad."
That's the same basic construction.
He died not only for the nation Israel, but for those nations scattered abroad.
And that's exactly the same construction that John picks up, He died for our sins as Jews
and not for ours only but for the nation, the ethna, the Gentiles, the world.
So we can sort of let Caiaphas be our interpreter and let John be our interpreter of Caiaphas.
Well somebody is going to inevitably say to me, "What about 2 Peter 2:1?
False prophets that arose among the people?"
What people?
The church, the redeemed.
"False teachers will come among you."
They're in the church.
"Who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing
swift destruction upon themselves."
Okay, can we conclude one thing?
Whatever it means, the Master who bought them, it doesn't mean they were saved or they wouldn't
be destroyed, right?
They weren't real believers or they wouldn't have been destroyed.
So some people say, "See, here you have then people for whom Christ has paid the purchase
price who are obviously not believers, they're going to be destroyed.
Doesn't this contradict the argument?"
The Master who bought them?
What could that possibly mean, in what sense did He buy them?
Let me show you the best answer to that.
Deuteronomy 32, does that seem like a long trip to interpret that verse?
Listen to this.
Here is a parallel illustration and it may well have been in Peter's mind because it
is such a familiar, familiar passage, the song of Moses.
Deuteronomy 32, this is an indictment.
Moses poetically refers to God redeeming Israel as a people collectively but affirms the apostasy
of many Israelites.
Verse 5, "They have acted corruptly toward Him.
They are not His children because of their defect.
They're a perverse crooked generation.
Do you thus repay the Lord, O foolish and unwise people, is not He your Father who has
bought you?"
Do you understand that?
What do you mean He bought you?
He redeemed you out of Egypt, right?
He redeemed you out of Egypt.
He brought you to the promised land.
He's brought you all the way here and many of you, most of you are corrupt and apostate,
but you are in the congregation of those who were redeemed from Egypt, the same is going
on in Second Peter.
You're in the church, you're a part of the redeemed community.
You're a part of the church and almost in a sarcastic way, you deny the very Master
who redeemed you, only in that superficial sense.
You know that Paul said, "Not Israel is Israel," and certainly not all the church is the church.
Well, I know that's a lot to digest.
But when you come to the celebration of the Lord's table, I want you to understand that
what you're celebrating is a mighty work of God that started in eternity past on your
behalf.
And you need now and forever you will praise the Lord for this astounding sovereign gift
of grace.
Let's bow in prayer.
Father, we come to You now with grateful hearts beyond words to express.
We have been caught away, again, in the raptures of the realities of salvation.
We thank You that because we were chosen, because an actual price was paid, we are therefore
secured forever for we could never perish because you have taken the full judgment in
our place.
We thank You, Lord Jesus Christ, that You suffered on the cross in just a few hours
of darkness, an eternity of punishment on millions of souls.
You took the full weight of divine wrath for those who would believe.
We thank You, Lord, for this real gift, this true atoning work.
We will praise You forever that You were slain in order to purchase us., pay the price for
the ones that the Father had determined in eternity past to give to You.
We want to be Your people in every sense, true and faithful, to that grace and that
love, amen.

How to Create or Upgrade your Lady Mafia - Duration: 6:55.
Hey, gorgeous. It's Denise here from LuckyBitch.com.
Today, we're talking about why you need a Lady Mafia for your business.
What's a Lady Mafia, you ask? Well, it's my term for a group of friends or
mastermind buddies who you know will always have your back. These are your
ride or die friends and mastermind buddies. These are the chicks who help you when
you're feeling scared and remind you that you are an awesome business lady who
can do anything. What if you are seriously lacking in this area? How do you find
them and what if you've actually outgrown your current Lady Mafia?
I'm going to be tackling this topic and more in today's video. Let's do it.
Let's get real here. Business can be scary. Really scary, some days.
You need to have girlfriends who not only get your business, but support you no
matter what. These are the people that you call when everything's gone wrong
during your launch, which totally happens. Who you know will pick you up and tell
you that it's okay or give you a kick in the butt when you need them to.
These are the friends who celebrate your successes, celebrate your ah-has and
also celebrate your business screw-ups. But, the truth is that you can really
outgrow people around you. It's sad, but true. If you're working on your mindset,
your business and your money blocks, sometimes your fellow Lady Posse aren't
really doing it as well. You might outgrow them soon if you haven't already.
What happens next? Well, you need to upgrade if you want to grow. If you're in
my Money Boot Camp, you know that we talk about upgrades a lot. Upgrades are
one of the techniques you can use to get closer to living your first class life – the
one that's going to make you feel abundant and like a money magnet – and you do it
incrementally. How do you use that to upgrade your Lady Mafia? First of all,
I want you to have a really honest check about who you're hanging out with.
Are these friends who maybe have said they want to start a business, but maybe
they moan about it or they can't quite decide what to do or it's too hard and
they don't get through the resistance? Maybe they say they'll do things, but it
takes them months to actually get into action. Maybe they're big on ideas,
but they don't actually do it and have lots of excuses why.
If you're on fire with ideas and enthusiasm, but your Lady Mafia likes to sit around
and winge, then you're just not an energetic match anymore.
I'm really sorry, but it's likely that they'll start to bring you down or keep you at a plateau.
When that happens, you might have decreased business motivation and that's
going to reflect in your bottom line. Even if you're not in business right now,
that kind of energy can really stop your manifesting mojo in its tracks.
What do you do? First of all, check your own energy. The first thing to do when
you suspect that it might be time to find or upgrade your Lady Mafia is to check in
with your own energy when you think about the people around you.
You don't even have to meet up with the group in person or have in person Lady
Mafia to think about this. Think about your business groups. You might have a
drop in your energy when you think about them or when you participate in those groups.
Maybe you're kind of always irritated about what people are posting or what
they're talking about. Maybe you're even eye rolling about some of the moaning or
complaining that you see happening in there. Or, you just think, "I don't want to
hang out with these bitches anymore." These are all signs that it's time to think
about upgrading the people around you. You might think, "Denise, you are way harsh.
These people are my friends and I can't just get rid of them." That's not what I'm saying.
All I'm saying is your mindset is the most important thing to success in your
business and manifesting your first class life. Sometimes you do outgrow friends on the
way to leading this life that you're consciously manifesting for yourself.
When you're in business, it's no different. You might outgrow some of your
mastermind buddies or some of your business forums. If you're unsure about
how to find another Lady Mafia to master- mind with, it's totally, totally possible.
You might think, "Where are these people? I don't know where they are." Well, open
yourself up to it. If you need to upgrade, I've got some ideas for you on how you can do it.
First of all, don't just think that everyone in your business groups are a write-off.
Some people might want to go with you. You could suggest that you all study a
mindset or a manifesting course together – for example, one of my courses – or
you could read a book together – like one of my books like Get Rich, Lucky Bitch for example.
Remember, you can't make everybody take the journey with you, but you also
can suggest stuff. You can give them a chance to get on the manifesting train
with you. But, if it takes a lot of energy to keep everyone motivated and enthused,
maybe it's not worth it and you have to face the fact that it's time to cut your ties
to some of those groups. It could be as simple as leaving a Facebook page,
leaving a Facebook group, not going to meetups anymore or arranging other
activities for yourself. Now, this might sound really hard right now, but you have
to clear the space sometimes and create a vacuum and then get really specific
about what you want and then it will happen fast. If you actually feel like
you need help in manifesting, whether it's finding new friends, finding a new Lady
Mafia or getting some new business acquaintances or even clients, I've got
a manifesting course for you. It goes through the exact process I use whenever
I want to manifest anything. Whether it's friends, new clients, new mastermind
groups or even new business ideas to take my business to the next level.
You can get that free manifesting course – and recently we've upgraded it so if
you've gone through it before, do it again. It's at LuckyBitch.com/formula. I'll take
you through that very specific five step formula to manifest anything you want,
including finding a new Lady Posse or Lady Mafia. Alright, gorgeous.
Get that at LuckyBitch.com/formula. Guess what. No matter what you're trying
to manifest right now, it's totally your time and you're ready for the next step.

Single or double drivetrain? Find out the reasons why Carl Bauer likes his 1X11 drivetrain - Duration: 2:50.
about his choice for 1x11
My name is Carl Bauer and I ride a Shimano 1x11 drivetrain...
with 11-46 rear cassette and a 32 tooth front chainring.
During the day I work at a local bike shop.
I've worked here for 20 years, actually since I was a teenager.
I grew up riding BMX bikes.
And came in to mountain bikes, and mountain bikes got good.
I grew up in the era of the three-by. You know triple drivetrains.
Got the double, that was nice and I got a new bike and it had one-by on it.
Switching between, going from a triple drivetrain...
to a double, to a oneby.
It's all a game of, I think, sacrifices...
for what you want in your personal setup.
I appreciate a 1x11 drivetrain for the simplicity of it.
You can have a shifter on one side, a dropper post lever actuator on the other side.
*And the cockpit's clutter free. It's easy.
The living out here and growing up riding bikes here, knowing the area very well...
and knowing where one can get away with and being able to use a oneby...
to have the simplicity of that.
I started tracking data and had this idea:
*What if you could make it to one million feet climbing.
Low and behold, it happened two years in a row.
Mountain biking to me is an escape.
Just hearing the tyres go across the ground.
Only recommend a oneby system to somebody that knows their terrain...
and wants the simplicity of a oneby.
Whereas a twoby 11 system can be recommended to somebody...
that they don't know where they're going and appreciate...
the increased range and closer gear ratios.
Thers is no single truth
Single or double?

How To Eat For Free In NYC (Or Anywhere!) - Duration: 8:12.
Oie! My name is Sabrina Araújo and I am here in NYC
with food blogger Cat, from @catncarbs
And today we are going to be sharing with you how we
spent two entire days in NYC and ate for free all day long!
Stay tuned for more!
Getting free food in NYC is a very easy thing to do
and quite frankly almost anyone can do it.
All you need is just a little bit of dedication,
a smartphone or a camera,
a big appetite and voilà…
Now, one word you have to keep in mind about businesses
giving away free services or free products is:
BENEFIT.
Basically, what that means is, a business will only give you something for free
if they can also get something in return.
And this can be applied to pretty much any business.
Think about hotels giving free rooms or a large discount
on your bill after you had a shitty experience at their place.
The true reason behind this
isn't because they feel super bad for you.
By giving you something for free,
they will be avoiding a negative review about their establishment.
Or even think about big brand names or small boutiques
sending their products to celebrities and bloggers
It's. All. About. Exposure.
The more people seeing their product,
the more recognition they will gain which will
most likely lead to more sales, sooo….
BINGO!
There's their benefit.
Which brings me to restaurants
What could a restaurant possibly get in return of offering complimentary food for someone?
Here's the answer you've been waiting for:
You have to either offer them exposure
OR
content for future exposure.
Here's what I mean by that:
To offer a restaurant exposure, you pretty much have to
be a social media influencer,
which means you have to have roughly at least 5-10k followers on any social media platform.
The cool thing is that certain restaurants
are actually pretty lenient and don't even require
you to have that high of a following number for you to receive a complimentary tasting.
The other option is for you to offer CONTENT for future exposure,
which pretty much means you have to take
freaking awesome pictures of their food.
The good news is that a good picture doesn't
solely depend on the camera gear you have,
it's all about HOW you take the picture AND your post editing process.
So no, you don't need a fancy camera to take great pictures
and get free food in New York City.
Let's say you already have a social media channel with a decent following
(I would say anything around 3k)
the first and main step you have to take is to
individually send a Direct Message to the restaurants you are looking to collaborate with
In other words… the restaurants you want free food from
Cat and I worked on an ideal template of what we think your DM should look like
Please take notice that this is only a template.
you definitely don't want to sound like every other person
out there, so make sure to add your own twist and make your message unique in your own way)
"Hey there! I have been growing my social media following, especially in the NYC area,
and I would love to use my reach to tell my followers all about your restaurant!
It would be great to set a time where I could come in for a complimentary tasting
followed by a short interview and for me to take some amazing pictures of your
food to feature on my Instagram page.
I look forward to hear back from you and make great things happen
with you and your team! Thank you!"
This template is pretty neat
it touches all the needed points
you're letting them know - who you are
- why they would benefit from giving you free food
AND you end it with an expected action of them getting back to you.
The cool thing is that with only a couple of changes here and there,
photographers can actually use the same template to DM businesses.
Just add some extra lines telling them your experience in photography
and maybe directing them to your photography website or blog, and vuolà
Actually, if you're a photographer and you want that free yummy food
and maybe some extra exposure,
You can also team up with an influencer
to take pictures for them while they're doing the tastings
Which is what I did with Cat during these two days in NYC
She brought her social media reach
while I brought my photography skills.
This can work both ways, either
a) you're a photographer and you can reach out
to bloggers saying you would like to take a day to collab with them for food tastings, or,
b) you're a blogger or social media influencer and
you can reach out to photographers asking if they would like to tag along
and collab by offering amazing pictures of the places you go to eat.
This is great exposure for all parties
Restaurant, blogger and photographer.
And HELLO... Free food for everyone!
And the magic of it all is that eventually,
restaurants will begin to come to YOU offering complimentary tastings
in exchange of your pictures or a promotion on your social media platform.
A big thing to keep in mind is to actually
do your work while you're at the restaurant during the
complimentary tasting.
Our first tip is to be very professional
and to obviously introduce yourself
and tell them why you're there and who you spoke to.
Getting a name while you're exchanging messages with the restaurant
on social media is VERY important!
since you can always refer to them while you come in for the tasting
especially since sometimes the server or hostess might be unaware of your visit.
Remember: The restaurant wants to benefit from the situation,
SO, take as many amazing pictures as you can,
and, while you're there, make sure to ask questions
about their services and their food and just really
observe the restaurant and try to find unique things
about the establishment that makes them stand out from other places.
This will allow you to gather creative content
for the building of your caption
for when you post the pictures of the restaurant on your social media pages.
Our next tip is to do WHATEVER it takes
for that good shot!
You're there for that yummy food
and for that delicious picture that will
make your followers want to go eat at that restaurant.
But, sometimes being inside the establishment for the shot
might not be the ideal lighting or setting.
"I'm like legit freezing!
She's bringing our food now, guys.
Oh my God!
The struggles for good lighting."
So, think outside the box & allow your picture
to be unique and look fantastic
(even if that involves you standing in the cold or
looking goofy holding food at random spots.
But hey, this is NYC...
People are used to seeing goofy stuff all the time, so you're good.)
After you take your amazing pictures and eat your yummy food,
be sure to make a killer post about the place,
tag the restaurant,
and, send them a nice short thank you message
saying how much you enjoyed their food and that you can't
wait to share your experience with all of your followers.
If you're lucky enough,
the restaurant or other accounts might actually even repost your picture
and guess what?
That's extra exposure, and guess what?
That actually makes more people see your work and again…
That just means more places will eventually want to collab with you
and reach out to YOU instead of YOU having to
reach out to THEM!
How cool is that?!?
So, yes... eating free food in New York City is the
easiest and most delicious experience ever!
Okay... maybe its not THAT easy, and it does require
a little bit of work on your part, but hey
it's worth it.
All you have to do is either have a decent reach
on social media, or, take amazing pictures
and then reach out to restaurants telling them you'll offer free promotion
on your social media or free pictures
in exchange of a complimentary tasting, and that's it…
You're ready to eat for free in NYC.

"Tell me when"
"Now"
"My fellow Americans,
we can make America great again.

Cockapoo Dogs 101 The First Designer Dog Cocker Spaniel Poodle Mix #cockapoo - Duration: 5:08.
An adorable small dog with the personality of a clown, the Cockapoo is the first of the
"designer dogs", dating back to the 1960s.
Completely people-oriented, the Cockapoo is intelligent enough to train easily, hardly
sheds, and is so affectionate that you'll never feel alone.
He's happy running around an agility course, showing off his tricks to company, being petted
as a therapy dog, or just hanging out on your lap, which is his, by the way.
Hi, welcome to Animal Facts.
Here are 10 fun facts about the utterly adorable, trail-blazer among hybrid dogs, the Cockapoo,
Let's get started.
But before we start, take a moment to like and subscribe for more fun, fauna facts.
And let us know about your Cockapoo in the comments below.
10.
Also known as the Cockapoodle [rooster crowing], Cockerpoo, Cock-a-Poo, or Spoodle, he is a
cross between either an American or English Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle.
These charming dogs first appeared on the scene in the 1950's when it is thought that
breeders in the States decided to create a low-shedding dog.
However, some people think they came about by pure accident.
Today, the Cockapoo remains one of the most popular "designer dogs" around, thanks to
his charming looks and his kind, loyal and affectionate natures.
9.
Because Cockapoos are a cross-breed, they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes with
some dogs leaning towards the Cocker Spaniel whereas other inherit more Poodle traits,
whether it's their physical traits or their temperaments.
Some dogs may have the curly coat of a Poodle and others could have much straighter and
longer hair because they inherited more of a Spaniel's coat, so it really does depend
on the luck of the draw as to how a puppy Cockapoo turns out.
8.
Playful and affectionate, the Cockapoo makes a great family companion.
He is sturdy enough to play fetch and ball with the kids and cuddly enough to curl up
on your lap for a warm and rejuvenating nap.
The Cockapoo bonds quickly with his family and believes that his people should be with
him all of the time.
7.
The Cockapoo is an exceptionally intelligent dog.
He is easy to train because he has a strong desire to please his people.
New owners are always shocked to see how quickly this crossbreed learns and responds to commands.
Many enthusiasts report that by the age of six months, Cockapoos can sit, stand, stay,
come, heel and sit up on command!
This is a bright mixed breed, coming from pairing two of the brightest parents on the
planet.
6.
Cockapoos are active dogs and love to play and romp.
A brisk walk through the neighborhood is a good thing for this hybrid dog but he also
needs to run.
A fenced and secure play area is necessary for him to stretch out and play hard.
For those who don't have yards, dog parks are a great place for the Cockapoo to exercise
and they also excel in agility and obedience training.
5.
The American Kennel Club does not recognize the Cockapoo as a breed at this time.
The American Canine Hybrid Club, Designer Dogs Kennel Club, North American Cockapoo
Registry, Cockapoo Club of America, American Cockapoo Club, Cockapoo Club of Great Britain,
International Designer Canine Registry and the Designer Breed Registry do recognize the
Cockapoo as a viable breed.
4.
Since the cockapoo sheds infrequently, caring for his coat typically involves weekly grooming.
Little vacuuming is required, creating the ideal situation for someone who doesn't have
the time to vacuum every few days.
3.
Depending on the type, an adult cockapoo can weigh anywhere between six and nineteen pounds.
Cockapoo types include maxi, miniatures, toys, and teacups.
Maxi cockapoos are the largest ones, and they weigh in at nineteen pounds.
Miniature cockapoos typically weigh between thirteen and eighteen pounds, while toy cockapoos
weigh between seven and twelve pounds.
Teacup toys are the smallest type of cockapoos, and they are less than six pounds at adulthood.
2.
The cockapoo is often healthier than either a poodle or a cocker spaniel simply because
it does not have many of the genetic defects typically found in either breed.
Since the animal is healthier, it is often happier as well.
He is, however, predisposed to ear infections, simply because of his coated drop ears.
He is also prone liver disease, cataracts, and kneecap dislocation.
1.
You'll have a long-lived companion in a Cockapoo.

for and fed an appropriate high-quality diet to suit his age.

Generic or customised sample? - ASK JUNGLE SCOUT EP #8 - Duration: 10:24.
Hey guys! Welcome to Episode Eight of Ask
Jungle Scout. It's Lenny here answering
your top questions on selling on Amazon,
FBA and Jungle Scout. Always remember to
put your questions in the comments below
for your chance to have a question
answered on the show. Let's get to it!
Jerry asks how does the ranking system
work on the JS extension. All the other
headers have explanations but I can't
find anything on the ranking. Good
question Jerry! And thanks to Mikeal for
answering this one on the channel, but i
just wanted to answer it here for anyone
else that's wondering. If you're using
the Jungle Scout chrome extension and
you're wondering how we rank the
products. That rank just comes from the
order that those listings appear on the
page. So there's two places that you can
run the extension. One on an Amazon
search page when you put in a keyword.
The other is on a product detail page
when you open up a listing and it will
show all the other products that are
listed on that page. We just display it
in the order that it appears on the page.
There's no special order and then of
course you can sort by the different
headings like sales and reviews and so
forth. Elon asks can you break down how
to use Jump Send for promotional
giveaways when launching your first
product. Sure Elon! Now Jump Send does two
primary things. One it hosts promotional
giveaways to help increase your sales. Two,
it sends out automated email campaigns.
So I'll show you a quick example of
running a promotion. So the first thing
to do is to put in your ASIN. I'll put in
this one as an example. It's brought up
this yoga mat. Now I get to come down of
course select the category. Jump Send is a
deals website for customers on Amazon.
They'll get to see what the original
price is currently on Amazon and then
the price that you're offering. So let's
say that in this example we want to do a
fifty percent off deal, so let's make it
nine ninety-nine, if it's FBA I'll select
FBA, hit next. The next thing is inventory
protection. So in order to run a
promotion you need to create the coupon
codes in Amazon. You do that by coming to
seller central, going to advertising,
promotions.
You select money off promotion. Now we
have more detailed videos on how to do
this so I'll link to those below, however
the thing to keep in mind is that you
can only select percentage off which in
fact applies to your entire order so if
you were to put fifty percent off
here, a customer could purchase one
product from you or they could purchase
ten, and they will receive fifty percent
off the entire amount. That's why
inventory protection is very important,
because what this does is it will limit
the number of units that customers can
purchase from you during the promotion
or you can continue it afterwards,
however this does apply to all of your
organic sales as well so keep that in
mind. So select this on. This is how many
it'll be limited to during the promotion
and then if we want to limit after we
can do that also or you can set it back
to normal which is unlimited. Keep in
mind the promotion dates that you set
here are separate to the ones that you
create on Amazon so the best thing to do
is to make sure that they match. We can't
read what your start and end date are
on Amazon so you have to make sure that
they do indeed match. This also applies
to the amount off in the previous step.
Again we can't read what you set here on
your coupon codes on Amazon so you need
to make sure that the percentage off you
list here is the same price that is
listed on Jump Send, and hit next. Here is a
more detailed video on how to create
coupon codes, and this confirms when your
promotion will end. This is where once
you've gone through these steps of
creating coupon codes you can paste them
into here so I'll just make some up for
now. On the next page you have the option
of either manually approving shoppers
yourself or automatically doing it and
we can automatically approve a certain
number so if you only want to give away
five products a day then we can
automatically do that for you. I'll
select manually approve shoppers. Okay
now it's important to read over this
promotion overview before you publish
because once you publish it goes live on
our deals page. The purpose of doing this
is to increase the number of sales you
get in a short period of time. This is
particularly useful if you're
just launching your product because when
you've just launched you're probably
sitting on page 300 for your particular
keyword however as soon as you start
making sales even at a discount it will
start to move you up the rankings of
your keywords therefore giving you
visibility and then hopefully it will
start to give you some organic sales to
get you going. The other important
function of Jump Send is to create
automated email campaigns. You then have
the option of starting from scratch,
writing all of your own emails or
starting with some templates that we've
already created. Let's do the two review
requests. At the top you can name your
campaign and you can also select the
products which you want this email to be
sent for. Once you've done that hit save
product selection. There's also a more
detailed video tutorial on this also.
Scrolling down you'll see a lot more
options here so if you go right down
this is the actual email that will go
out to your customers. These are things
called auto fill tags, this will
automatically grab their name and their
order number from Amazon so that part's
all done for you. You just need to change
the main text if you want to, or you can
leave it as it is, of course put your
name in there. Up above you can choose
the frequency of when it goes out to the
buyer so in this case it's as soon as
possible after an order has been
confirmed. Now you'll see up here these
are the different emails so if we go to
first review request, that's the next one.
This one's got different settings so
that's two days after the order has been
delivered, and then finally seven days
after the order has been delivered. Once
you're happy with these emails you do
need to make the message active
otherwise it won't go out. When you're
ready to go you can save the changes and
then publish the campaign. Now why would
you want to do this? Reviews are
important to a lot of people and sending
follow-up emails to our customers after
they've purchased from us is a very good
way of improving the chances of getting
reviews. Joachim asks - is it possible to
see what products are bought from the US
market by European customers?
Unfortunately Joachim I'm not aware of
any way to do this. If anyone else knows
differently please put it in the
comments below,
but generally speaking the people
purchasing on Amazon will usually
purchase from their relevant marketplace.
So people in the European marketplaces
will usually, you know, purchase from
Amazon France, Germany etc. Chris asks -
when I buy a sample for evaluation
should I purchase the sample to evaluate
the quality or when they make the
modification or color that I want? Cool
so what I think you're asking here Cris,
is whether to purchase a sample generic
or whether to get it with the
modifications that you ultimately want
for that product? So what I would suggest
is try and get the modifications if you
can, however in a lot of cases this will
cost you a lot more. If it's say if it
costs like fifty or sixty dollars for a
sample by itself sometimes a supplier
might charge you, you know, two or three
hundred dollars or something ridiculous
in order to get that sample. Often
because they need to create, you know, a
whole new mould for your custom
product and they don't know whether
you're going to place a large order so
they're going to charge you a lot more
to get a custom sample. So what I
recommend is try and get that and if the
price is ridiculous just go for the
generic sample. Usually
you're just wanting to check the build
quality and to make sure that the
quality of the material on the sample is
as you know is good so most of the time
the generic sample should suffice.
Antonio asks - currently I have two
potential products for private label and
a few products for wholesale. I've done
my homework so far, I managed to get a
few thousand bucks to set me up, so all
these products that I have, I think they
really have potential. I already spoke to
some manufacturers and they already
quoted my products. I just can't make the
decision. I think I'm stuck. I'm very
scared about sales. What if the product
doesn't sell as well as I'm thinking or
even worse if it doesn't sell at all!
Thanks for the question Antonio I wanted
to include this one in here because I
know that that's a place
that a lot of a lot of first-time sellers
or even you know experienced sellers
that are launching a new product are in,
where, you know, you've done all the
homework, you've done the verification,
you've checked the numbers, you've done
as much as you can but it's just really
hard to,
you know, press that Go button and
actually launch your product. The purpose
of Jungle Scout is to help you verify
potential product ideas as much as
possible but unfortunately we can't
guarantee that those products are
absolutely going to sell. No one can! Even
you know you can do as much homework as
you want, as much research but at
the end of the day no one knows for sure
and the only way to know is to you know
take that leap of faith and try it. The
name of the game though is to do as much
you know preparation as possible to
minimize the risk of it being a failure.
There are sellers that I've spoken to
that have gone off to a rocky start with
a product and it seems like it wasn't
going to sell however they persevered
and they had that strong belief that
they could make it work and they
persevered and were able to turn it
around so you know at some point you
need to take that leap of faith. Once
you've done as much as you can to
prepare and minimize as much risk as
possible if you believe in it you can
make it happen. So that's all of today's
questions guys. I hope you got some value
from that. Make sure to give us a thumbs
up if that's the case! If you want your
question to be answered on the show ,make
sure you leave it in the comments below.
