Park Geun-hye arrested for her involvement in a massive corruption and power abuse case,
is at the Seoul Detention Center.
Our Hwang Hojun starts us off with details on how the disgraced leader ended up as an
inmate behind bars.
Former President Park Geun-hye was arrested in the predawn hours of Friday morning as
the Seoul Central District Court granted the state prosecutors' warrant request,... just
21 days after she was impeached.
She's now the country's third former president to be arrested on criminal charges, after
Roh Tae-woo and Chun Doo-hwan.
Park Geun-hye left her private residence at 10:09 a.m. on Thursday and arrived at the
Seoul Central District Court 11 minutes later.
Her arrest warrant hearing commenced at 10:30 a.m. and continued for about two and a half
hours until the court adjourned for lunch.
Court was back in session an hour later and went until another short 15-minute break later
in the afternoon.
The hearing lasted nearly nine hours in all -- the longest since the warrant hearing system
was first introduced 20 years ago.
She waited another eight hours at the nearby Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office
while the judge deliberated the ruling, which he issued at 3 a.m.
By 4:30 a.m.,.. Park was on her way to her next destination -- the Seoul Detention Center.
In issuing his ruling, the judge said: "The grounds and necessity for Park's arrest are
acknowledged, and there's a concern over the destruction of evidence."
There are 13 charges against Park, more than for the two other former presidents arrested
in the past.
The charges include,... colluding with her confidante Choi Soon-sil to extort tens of
millions of dollars from conglomerates,... leaking confidential presidential office documents
to Choi... and ordering the creation of a blacklist of cultural figures critical of
the government.
Many of Park's alleged accomplices, including Choi and Samsung Electronics vice chairman
Lee Jae-yong, have already either been arrested or jailed for their suspected involvement
in the scandal.
Now that Park has been detained, prosecutors will have up to 20 days to continue their
investigation and formally indict her.
If she's convicted of receiving bribes,... she could be facing a minimum of ten years
in jail.

The disgraced former leader will get the same treatment as everyone else behind bars -- living
in a small cell and subject to a regimented life.
She is detained at the same detention center as her close-confidante Choi Soon-sil,...
but they will be banned from having contact with each other.
Pejmon Sorornejad has more.
A convoy of vehicles carrying the former president arrived at the Seoul Detention Center at 4:45
a.m. Park was driven past a large group of die-hard
supporters who continue to insist she is innocent,... as well as a smaller group who welcomed the
court's decision to arrest her.
The detention center, located 15 kilometers south of the capital, is going to be the former
president's new home for up to the next 20 days.
During that time, prosecutors will continue their investigation and must file formal charges
against her before the period ends.
If found guilty,... the charges -- which could include bribery, abuse of power, coercion
and leaking government secrets -- could see her jailed for a decade... or possibly even
longer.
Upon her arrival at the detention center, Park went through a physical checkup,... which
has been described by some as an embarrassing process.
All her personal belongings were taken away and she will only be given simple toiletries,
a blanket and tableware for her meals.
As with other suspects at the center,... Park will receive a yellow and green prison uniform
before being transferred to her cell.
Size-wise, the cell is larger than six-and-a-half square meters -- equivalent to that of the
cells assigned to past former presidents who were also jailed.
While at the detention center,... Park will lead a life based on strict rules and guidelines,
including getting up at 6:30 a.m. and lights out at 9 p.m.
She will only be allowed a limited number of visitors a day but she will be permitted
unlimited access to her lawyers.
These rules are also being followed by a number of other once-powerful figures implicated
in the sprawling scandal.
Samsung's de facto boss Lee Jae-yong is being held at the facility,... as are...
Choi Soon-sil, the woman at the heart of the scandal,... Choi's niece Jang Si-ho, Choi's
close associate Cha Eun-taek, the ex-presidential chief of staff Kim Ki-choon and the former
Culture Minister Cho Yoon-sun The Korea Correctional Service says none of
them are allowed any contact with each other.

I hear millennials ask me all the time,
what should I buy? Equity funds?
Should I buy bond funds? How much
should I have in the stock market for my
house down payment savings account?
The answer is zero. Do not expose your house
down payment to the stock market.
Stock markets can crash. In 2008 the market
went down about 33 per cent.
You do not need that risk. Instead keep the
money in a in a high interest savings
account. You can earn as much as about
1.5 to 2 per cent. It's not great but it
will keep you just ahead of inflation,
and your money is super safe.
Point two: Make your investing automatic.
Setup electronic transfers from your checking
account to your investment account every
time you get paid. If you leave it up to
yourself, you make it discretionary, you
do you're investing when you feel you
have enough money, you will come up with
excuses and there'll be a good chance
you're going to miss out on a lot of
investments because you just couldn't
find the money. Make it automatic.
The money comes off the top when you're paid
and you'll never think about it.
Point three: Make it low cost. I like low-cost
index mutual funds, the TD e-Series are
particularly good for low-cost. Also,
exchange-traded funds are very low cost.
You know, the more you pay in fees on
your investments, the less you get to
keep for yourself, so it makes perfect
sense to go for a low cost situation.
If you use ETFs you want to find an online
broker that charges little or no
commissions for ETFs. A few exist: Virtual Brokers,
Questrade are two brokers who do not
commissions for buying ETFs.
That makes ETFs very economical for the
young investor. Fourth point: Try a robo adviser.
Robo advisers manage your money
for you for a very low cost online.
Be honest with yourself. If you don't have
the time, the knowledge and let's face it
the inclination or interest to manage
your own money, a robo adviser is a super
solution for keeping you invested in a
sensible, sound way.

The Chinese Ministry of National Defense has warned South Korea that the ongoing THAAD
retaliation could get more serious.
This comes on the same day Seoul's parliament urged Beijing to put an end to such moves.
Cho Sung min reports.
The Chinese Ministry of National Defense has warned South Korea that its opposition to
THAAD won't end with just words.
That was the response of spokesman Wu Qian at a regular briefing on Thursday when asked
about reports that components of the THAAD system have already arrived in South Korea
and that the system will be complete next month.
Wu said Beijing has expressed its views on the matter to Seoul several times and that
the reasons are clear.
He went on to note that China and Russia's militaries held joint missile defense simulations
last May, and said they would hold joint drills again this year.
But he didn't confirm whether this time they would involve actual troops and equipment.
Beijing sees THAAD as a threat... and has reacted with unofficial sanctions against
Korean businesses and entertainers.
The damage has been limited to the economy so far.
But a few days ago, a retired Chinese admiral took a more hard-line approach and urged his
country to make a surgical strike on the site where the anti-missile system will be deployed.
Seoul maintains that THAAD is purely to defend against North Korean missiles... but that's
not something China is yet willing to accept.

She was once known as the queen of elections,... and in her journey from first daughter to
18th president, Park Geun-hye's political career had mostly been filled with victories.
But her expulsion from office and subsequent arrest has left her legacy in tatters.
Our Song Ji-sun takes a look back at her early life and career... up through her fast downfall.
She's Korea's first female president... and the first daughter of a president.
It was a legacy that could have had a happy ending... but hasn't turned out that way.
Park Geun-hye spent her youth at Cheong Wa Dae as the first daughter when her father
Park Chung-hee became president in 1963.
She also served as first lady after her mother was assassinated in 1974,... but then disappeared
from the public eye when her father was assassinated in 1979.
Park then spent almost two decades in near seclusion,...
but she made a stellar comeback as a lawmaker, winning the 1998 by-election in Daegu, a traditional
stronghold for conservatives.
Park's political career was filled with victories,... bringing her renown as the "queen of elections."
She served as a lawmaker for five terms, tackling crisis after crisis for the conservative,
Hannara Party, which was later renamed the Saenuri and now Liberty Korea Party.
Park faced one major setback in 2007, when she lost the party's presidential candidacy
to Lee Myung-bak,... but she won the following election to become Korea's 18th president.
"As president of the Republic of Korea, I will serve the public by boosting the economy,
making the people happy and fostering culture.
I will dedicate everything I have to building a country that is rich and strong and where
every citizen is happy."
But just four years later,... her presidency, and likely her political career, has come
to an end a year before the end of her term,... as the power-abuse scandal involving her longtime
confidante Choi Soon-sil has become her downfall and she is now in detention awaiting trial.

are to honor their mother with a statue that will stand in the shadow of her old home in

and charity contacts to help come up with the fitting tribute to her.
The statue will stand in a public area of Kensington Palace Gardens, the royals said
in a statement released to PEOPLE.
She will also be honored through the Diana Award, which was set up in memory of Diana,
Princess of Wales, which was set up to honor her belief that young people have the power
to change the world for the better.
With the 20th anniversary of her death this August, the charity established a commemorative
website for people to add their own thoughts and inspirations.

SOMEWHERE I'M TOLD, IS THE AUTHOR OF A VERY BIG BOOK
OF THE PAST 5 YEARS, THE CLOSING OF THE AMERICAN
MIND.
INTERESTINGLY, IN THAT BOOK, HE SAYS IN THE VERY
FIRST SENTENCE OF THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF THE
FIRST CHAPTER, HE SAYS THIS: THERE IS ONE THING A
PROFESSOR CAN BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN OF:
ALMOST EVERY STUDENT ENTERING THE UNIVERSITY
BELIEVES, OR SAYS HE BELIEVES, THAT TRUTH IS
RELATIVE.
THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES.
MARK TWAIN SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WITH MOST PEOPLE
IS NOT WHAT THEY DON'T KNOW, BUT WHAT THEY KNOW
FOR CERTAIN THAT ISN'T TRUE.
I THINK THAT STATEMENT APPLIES TO THIS DISCUSSION
THIS EVENING VERY MUCH.
VIRTUALLY ALL OF OUR STUDENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL
HAVE LEARNED THAT THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES.
YOU PROBABLY HEARD ABOUT THE TEACHER WHO SAID TO
HIS CLASS, "YOU CAN KNOW NOTHING FOR CERTAIN."
ONE STUDENT SAID, "TEACHER, ARE YOU SURE?"
HE SAID, "I'M CERTAIN."

IF YOU WERE TO ASK A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE HOW IT IS
THAT THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES, HOW IT IS THAT
EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE AND ALL TRUTH IS RELATIVE, HE
WILL EITHER LOOK AT YOU BLANKLY AND NOT HAVE THE
FAINTEST IDEA WHY THAT IS SO OTHER THAN THAT HE HAS
BEEN TOLD IT IS SO OR HE MAY IF HE IS SOMEWHAT MORE
ERUDITE TELL YOU "HAVEN'T YOU EVER HEARD OF
EINSTEIN?
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE PAST FIFTY YEARS?
HAVEN'T YOU EVER READ THE THEORY OF RELATIVITY?
DON'T YOU KNOW THAT WE LIVE IN A RELATIVISTIC
UNIVERSE AND THAT EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE?
AND THAT SETTLES THE MATTER.
EINSTEIN SAID IT, AND IT MUST BE SO."
NO HE DIDN'T.
THIS IS WHAT HE SAID: "RELATIVITY APPLIES TO THE
REALM OF PHYSICS- NOT ETHICS."
SO HOW IS IT THAT EINSTEIN'S THEORY HAS BEEN
TRANSPORTED INTO EVERY OTHER DISCIPLINE AND WE
HAVE ENDED UP IN AMERICA TODAY WITH ALMOST A TOTAL
MORAL RELATIVISM WHICH SOMEHOW HAS BEEN DEDUCED
FROM EINSTEIN'S THEORY OF RELATIVITY AND WHICH HAS
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATEVER TO DO WITH ETHICS
OR MORALS.
NOW, SOMETIMES STUDENTS DON'T REALIZE THAT WHEN A
TEACHER OR PROFESSOR SAYS THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES,
YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS SAYING.
HE IS ALSO SAYING THERE IS NO GOD.
BECAUSE, YOU SEE, GOD IS THE ULTIMATE ABSOLUTE.
HE IS ABSOLUTELY SUPREME; HE IS ABSOLUTELY INFINITE
IN HIS POWER AND HIS WISDOM AND HIS KNOWLEDGE
AND EVERYTHING, ALL OF HIS ATTRIBUTES.
GOD IS THE ULTIMATE ABSOLUTE AND WHAT HE SAYS
IS THE ULTIMATE AND ABSOLUTE TRUTH.
THEREFORE, KEEP IN MIND THAT WHEN ANYONE SAYS
THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES, THEY ARE SIMPLY GIVING YOU
A VEILED AND CLOAKED ATHEISM.
NOT ONLY IS IT TRUE THAT WHEN PEOPLE SAY THERE ARE
NO ABSOLUTES, ARE THEY SAYING THAT THERE IS NO
GOD, BUT THEY ARE ALSO SAYING THERE IS NO WORD OF
GOD- THAT THE SCRIPTURES ARE NOT THE WORD OF GOD.
NOW, THE BIBLE SAYS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
JESUS SAID OF THE WORD, "THY WORD IS TRUTH" (JOHN 17:17B).
AND THAT, "HEAVEN AND EARTH SHALL PASS AWAY, BUT
ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE OF THE LAW SHALL IN NO WISE
PASS AWAY TILL ALL BE FULFILLED" (MATTHEW 5:18).
THE BIBLE SAYS THAT IT IS TRUTH; IT IS TRUTH
REVEALED FROM GOD.
THEREFORE, IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE.
WHEN GOD'S WORD SAYS SOMETHING THAT IS THE WORD
OF GOD AND THAT IS TRUE.
NOW THAT IS NOT BASED MERELY ON SOME
PREDILECTION ON MY PART OR THOSE WHO BELIEVE, BUT
IT IS BASED UPON EVIDENCE.
GOD GIVES EVIDENCE WHEREBY WE MAY KNOW THAT THE
SCRIPTURES ARE INDEED THE WORD OF GOD- EVIDENCE
WHICH HAS CONVINCED HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF
PEOPLE OVER THE YEARS.
NOW, WHEN PEOPLE SAY THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES, THEY
ARE ALSO SAYING THAT JESUS CHRIST IS NOT THE SON OF
GOD, BECAUSE AS GOD THE SON, HE HIMSELF IS
ABSOLUTE.
HE IS WITHOUT SIN, WITHOUT IMPERFECTION- HE WAS THE
ALTOGETHER PERFECT ONE.
KEEP IN MIND THAT WHENEVER A PERSON SAYS THERE ARE NO
ABSOLUTES, THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NO GOD, THE BIBLE
IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD, AND JESUS CHRIST IS NOT
THE SON OF GOD.
I THINK WE NEED TO SEE THAT THAT IS QUITE A LOT
OF TRANSPORTING THE TRUTHS FROM PHYSICS INTO THE
REALM OF RELIGION AND MORALITY.
NOW, WITH RELATIVISTIC MORALS, THERE ALSO COMES
SUBJECTIVISM.
THERE IS NO OBJECTIVE STANDARD OUTSIDE, AND NOW
TODAY WE NO LONGER TALK ABOUT MORALS, WE TALK
ABOUT "VALUES," A TERM THAT NIETZSCHE GAVE TO US.
VALUES ARE SIMPLY ANYTHING THAT ANYONE CHOOSES TO
PLACE A VALUE UPON.
SOMEHOW, WE HAVE COME TO A PLACE OF BELIEVING THAT
EVERY PERSON HAS SOME AUTHORITY TO DECIDE
WHATEVER IS GOOD OR BAD FOR HIM, WHATEVER IS RIGHT
OR WRONG, WHATEVER IS OF VALUE AND WHAT IS NOT OF
VALUE.
OF COURSE, A COROLLARY OF THAT IS THAT HE CANNOT
IMPOSE THAT UPON ANYONE ELSE.
YOU CAN'T IMPOSE YOUR VALUES ON SOMEONE ELSE,
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE, AS LONG AS YOU ARE TALKING
ABOUT MERELY VALUES WHICH WE HAVE SIMPLY ACCEPTED.
GOD'S LAW, HOWEVER, APPLIES TO ALL CREATED
BEINGS, BECAUSE HE IS THE CREATOR AND HE WILL APPLY
IT TO ALL OF THEM WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
ANOTHER COROLLARY OF THAT IS THAT SINCE OUR VALUES
AND MORES DO NOT COME FROM GOD, THEY MUST COME FROM
SOME SOURCE THAT INFLUENCES US, AND THAT IS
CULTURAL.
SO THESE VALUES, THESE MORALS, ARE RELATIVISTIC,
THEY ARE INDIVIDUAL, THEY ARE SUBJECTIVE, AND THEY
ARE CULTURALLY INDUCED.
ONE PERSON SAYS, "WE DON'T LIVE OUR LIVES
RELATIVISTICALLY."
IF YOU ARE WAITING IN YOUR CAR AT A TRAIN CROSSING,
AND A THERE'S A TRAIN, HUGE TRAIN COMING AT 60
MILES AN HOUR.
YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU GET YOUR CAR OUT IN FRONT OF
THAT TRAIN, YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE
"RELATIVELY" DEAD- YOU ARE GOING TO BE "ABSOLUTELY"
DEAD.
WE CAN'T LIVE BY THAT.
NUMEROUS SOCIAL CRITICS, PHILOSOPHERS, AND SOCIAL
SCIENTISTS ARE SAYING THAT IT IS THIS VIEW OF MORAL
RELATIVISM THAT IS ABSOLUTELY CAUSING THE
MORALITY OF THIS NATION TO CRUMBLE BEFORE OUR EYES,
BUT OVER AGAINST THE MORAL RELATIVISM OF OUR TIME, I
THINK WE NEED DESPERATELY TO REASSERT THE FACT OF
WHAT JESUS CHRIST SAID.
HE SAID: "YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH
SHALL MAKE YOU FREE" (JOHN 8:32).
"YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE"
NOW WE ARE TOLD THAT WE CAN'T KNOW TRUTH- THAT WE
CAN'T KNOW ANYTHING FOR CERTAIN.
GRANTED, SCIENCE ONLY GIVES HIGH PROBABILITIES,
BUT THROUGH REVELATION AND RELIGION, WE CAN KNOW
TRUTH.
THE SCRIPTURES SAY, "THESE THINGS ARE WRITTEN THAT
YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE" (I JOHN 5:13).
I AM HAPPY TO SAY THAT I KNOW THAT I HAVE ETERNAL
LIFE.
I KNOW THAT SHOULD I DIE TODAY, I WILL BE WITH
CHRIST FOREVER.
I HAVE NOT ALWAYS KNOWN THAT.
WHEN I WAS A YOUNG MAN, ABOUT TWO YEARS AFTER
COLLEGE, I HEARD THE GOSPEL, AND I CAME TO KNOW
THAT.
I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU, MY FRIEND, DO YOU KNOW
THAT?
DO YOU KNOW FOR CERTAIN THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL
LIFE?
THE SCRIPTURE SAYS THAT THESE THINGS ARE WRITTEN
THAT WE MAY KNOW THAT.
NOW SAD TO SAY, MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE REJECTED
SCRIPTURAL TRUTH HAVE NOT DONE IT FOR THE REASONS
THAT SOMETIMES PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY HAVE.
FOR EXAMPLE, NIETZSCHE REJECTED THE SCRIPTURES.
HE REJECTED CHRISTIANITY.
HE HATED RELIGION.
HE HATED CHRISTIANITY, IN PARTICULAR, AND HE IS, OF
COURSE, THE ONE WHO SAID GOD IS DEAD.
THE AMAZING THING IS THAT MILLIONS OF PEOPLE
BELIEVED HIM.
HE NEVER PROVED IT; HE JUST ASSEVERATED IT.
IT'S ONE THING TO DECLARE SOMETHING; IT IS ANOTHER
THING TO PROVE IT.
SOMEBODY WROTE UPON A BUILDING GRAFFITI IT SAID,
"GOD IS DEAD -NIETZSCHE."
SOMEONE ELSE CAME ALONG AND WROTE, "NIETZSCHE IS
DEAD -GOD."

IT IS BETTER TO DEBATE AN ISSUE BEFORE SETTLING IT,
SAID ONE PHILOSOPHER THAN SETTLING AN ISSUE BEFORE
DEBATING IT.
AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT NIETZSCHE DID.
LET ME TELL YOU, NO ONE HAS EVER PROVED THAT GOD
IS DEAD OR THAT GOD DOESN'T EXIST.
IN FACT ATHEISM, IF YOU DON'T KNOW IT, IS
IRRATIONAL.
I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THAT.
TO SAY THAT THERE IS NO GOD IS TO ASSERT WHAT IN
LOGIC IS CALLED A "UNIVERSAL NEGATIVE."
IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT NO HUMAN BEING CAN PROVE ANY
UNIVERSAL NEGATIVE.
YOU CANNOT PROVE THAT NOWHERE IN THE UNIVERSE
ARE THERE LITTLE GREEN MEN, YOU CAN'T PROVE THAT.
YOU CANNOT PROVE THAT NOWHERE IN THE UNIVERSE IS
THERE A BEING SUCH AS GOD.
IN ORDER TO PROVE THAT, YOU WOULD HAVE TO KNOW
WHAT IS IN EVERY PART OF THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, WHICH
IS TO SAY: IN ORDER TO PROVE THAT THERE IS NO
GOD, YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE GOD.
THEN YOU WOULD HAVE PROVED YOURSELF WRONG.

NO, MY FRIENDS, GOD IS NOT DEAD.
THAT HAS NEVER BEEN PROVED, BUT THOSE WHO HAVE
COME TO KNOW HIM HAVE COME TO KNOW THAT HE IS VERY
MUCH ALIVE.
AND YOU KNOW LIFE WITHOUT MEANING, THAT'S THE REASON
SO MANY COLLEGE STUDENTS COMMIT SUICIDE TODAY
BECAUSE LIFE HAS BEEN ROBBED OF ALL OF ITS
MEANING AND SIGNIFICANCE, AND IF ALL THERE IS AT THE
END IS A PILE OF ASHES AND A SKULL.
THAT IS JUST NOT GOING TO SUFFICE, BECAUSE THE SOUL
IS GOING TO PEEK OUT AROUND THE DAY AFTER
TOMORROW AND DESIRE SOME ASSURANCE OF A CONTINUING
EXISTENCE IN A BETTER AND FINER WORLD.
GOD HAS PLACED IMMORTALITY WITHIN THE HEART OF MAN
AND WE CAN'T GET AROUND IT.
LIFE CANNOT BE LIVED WITHOUT MEANING AND HOPE.
AS A YOUNG MAN, I HEARD THE GOSPEL FOR THE FIRST
TIME IN MY LIFE.
I LIVED TO BE 24 WITHOUT EVER KNOWING IT, BUT I
HEARD OF THIS INCREDIBLE LOVE OF ONE THAT LOVED ME
SO MUCH AS TO BE WILLING TO COME DOWN FROM GLORY
AND GO TO A SHAMEFUL CROSS TO HANG NAKED UPON THAT
AGONIZING TREE.
THERE TO HAVE IMPUTED BY HIS FATHER, MY GUILT, UPON
HIM AND TO TAKE IN MY PLACE THE PENALTY FOR SIN
THAT I CONDIGNLY DESERVED TO TAKE MYSELF.
WHAT HE ENDURED WE CANNOT KNOW, WE CANNOT
UNDERSTAND, THE PAINS THAT HE HAD TO BEAR, BUT I
BELIEVE IT WAS FOR US HE HUNG AND SUFFERED THERE.
I CAME TO SEE A LOVE THAT I HAD NEVER KNOWN BEFORE.

REPENT OF THEIR SINS AND PLACE THEIR TRUST IN THE
DIVINE SON OF GOD, WHO SO LOVED THEM AND SO SUFFERED

AND DEAR FRIEND, I SAW THAT LOVE THAT NIGHT AS I
WAS SEATED ALONE IN MY APARTMENT, AFTER HAVING
LIVED A VERY PROFLIGATE LIFE.
WHERE GOD AND CHRIST HAD NO PLACE IN MY LIFE.

THE THOUGHT CAME INTO MY MIND: JESUS CHRIST THE SON
OF GOD DECLARES THAT I AM GOING TO LIVE WITH HIM IN
PARADISE FOREVER.
A CHILL WENT RIGHT DOWN MY SPINE, AND THAT, MY DEAR
FRIENDS, IS THE GREATEST ABSOLUTE I HAVE EVER
LEARNED AND IF YOU HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED IT, IF YOU
HAVE NOT CLAIMED IT, GOD INVITES YOU TO COME TO HIM
AND RECEIVE THE FREE GIFT OF EVERLASTING LIFE.

LORD, I PRAY THAT RIGHT NOW, YOU WILL ENABLE THEM,
AS SO MANY HAVE DONE BEFORE, TO SAY: "O,
CHRIST, I SURRENDER MY LIFE TO YOU.
I KNOW I AM A SINNER UNDERNEATH ALL OF THE
PRETENSIONS.
I KNOW THAT I HAVE DONE MANY THINGS THAT I AM
ASHAMED OF.
HOW MUST YOU, THE ALL-HOLY GOD LOOK UPON THEM?
AND YET, AMAZING TO SAY, YOU ARE WILLING TO WASH ME
WHITER THAN SNOW, TO FORGIVE ME, TO CLEANSE ME,

WHEN THE STARS HAVE BURNT INTO CINDERS, AND THIS
UNIVERSE HAS COLLAPSED, I WILL STILL BE WITH YOU AND
WILL ONLY HAVE JUST BEGUN TO LIVE WITH YOU FOREVER.

Former President Park Geun-hye was arrested in the predawn hours of Friday morning as
the Seoul Central District Court granted the state prosecutors' warrant request,... just
21 days after she was impeached.
She's now the country's third former president to be arrested on criminal charges, after
Roh Tae-woo and Chun Doo-hwan.
Park Geun-hye left her private residence at 10:09 a.m. on Thursday and arrived at the
Seoul Central District Court 11 minutes later.
Her arrest warrant hearing commenced at 10:30 a.m. and continued for about two and a half
hours until the court adjourned for lunch.
Court was back in session an hour later and went until another short 15-minute break later
in the afternoon.
The hearing lasted nearly nine hours in all -- the longest since the warrant hearing system
was first introduced 20 years ago.
She waited another eight hours at the nearby Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office
while the judge deliberated the ruling, which he issued at 3 a.m.
By 4:30 a.m.,.. Park was on her way to her next destination -- the Seoul Detention Center.
In issuing his ruling, the judge said: "The grounds and necessity for Park's arrest are
acknowledged, and there's a concern over the destruction of evidence."
There are 13 charges against Park, more than for the two other former presidents arrested
in the past.
The charges include,... colluding with her confidante Choi Soon-sil to extort tens of
millions of dollars from conglomerates,... leaking confidential presidential office documents
to Choi... and ordering the creation of a blacklist of cultural figures critical of
the government.
Many of Park's alleged accomplices, including Choi and Samsung Electronics vice chairman
Lee Jae-yong, have already either been arrested or jailed for their suspected involvement
in the scandal.
Now that Park has been detained, prosecutors will have up to 20 days to continue their
investigation and formally indict her.
If she's convicted of receiving bribes,... she could be facing a minimum of ten years
in jail.

Now we look into what specifically led the court to grant the arrest warrant on the ousted
president.
Our Kim Ji-yeon also explains how the court's decision could impact the actual trial on
the criminal charges the impeached leader faces.
There's a high possibility that former President Park would jeopardize the investigation into
the criminal charges against her if she were not detained.
That's the view of the Seoul Central District Court, which said the fact she denied all
13 charges despite mounting evidence... shows she's not willing to cooperate.
"When suspects deny their charges... the court sees a big risk they'll withhold evidence.
And in Park's case, this was the main reason the court issued the arrest warrant... rather
than the possibility that she will run away during the investigation."
The professor also added the court's decision indicates that Park is highly likely to be
found guilty of some of the charges in the actual trial... since the judge would not
issue the arrest warrant unless there was compelling evidence against her.
Also the court may taken into account that her closest former aides, her longtime confidante
as well as Samsung Electronics vice chairman Lee Jae-yong are already behind bars for colluding
with or aiding Park in her alleged offenses.
Park's first trial is likely to take place after the May 9th presidential election...
if prosecutors indict her before the April 19th deadline... with a verdict expected in
mid-October.
