Arsenal lead Liverpool in Alexandre Lacazette pursuit but odds suggest Lyon stay - Duration: 2:22.

Arsenal lead Liverpool in Alexandre Lacazette pursuit but odds suggest Lyon stay

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed this week that Arsenal had made a very nice offer for Lacazette ahead of the summer window.

But the Ligue 1 club turned down the Gunners proposal, just like they did last summer when they rejected their £29. 3million bid for 26-year-old.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in Lacazette, with French outlet LEquipe claiming they have held initial talks for the £60million-rated striker. But bookmakers Betfair reckon Arsenal are leading the race for the France international.

The Gunners are priced as 2/1 favourites to sign Lacazette this summer, while Liverpool trail in the market at odds of 4/1. LEquipe reported today that Lacazette has his heart set on a move to Atletico Madrid.

The striker is reportedly willing to wait it out at Lyon for the first half of next season and sign for Atletico in January due to the La Liga club's ban on transfers this summer.

And Lacazette remaining at Lyon throughout the summer window can be found at even money with Betfair. Lacazette, a product of Lyons academy, has scored 129 goals in 275 appearances since making his senior debut for the club in 2010.

He bagged 37 goals across all competitions last season as Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1 and reached the Europa League quarter-finals.

Happy Fathers Day 10 onscreen characters who proved fatherhood is not about blood relation but a dee - Duration: 8:34.

Happy Father's Day: 10 onscreen characters who proved fatherhood is not about blood relation but a deeper bond

Dad – the superhero who does not come wearing a cape. If mothers are indispensable and unconditional in their warmth, dads are the invincible heroes.

But sometimes, fatherhood isnt about with whom you share a blood relation, rather its with whom you share the bond.

Over the years, Hollywood has introduced us to various characters, who never shared any blood but always stood by each other like a family.

1. Yondu: Guardians Of The Galaxy. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 beautifully showed how sometimes family is not about with whom you share a blood relation.

All his life, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) wished that he knew about his real father, but when he actually crossed paths with him, his disillusion broke and he realised who his real guardian was.

It was the man who saved him from being eaten up – Yondu. Had it not been for Yondu, Peter Quill wouldnt have ever dreamt of being a Star Lord.

2. Sirius Black: Harry Potter. Sirius Black had been one of the most radical characters in Harry Potters life. Unlike Molly Weasley, or Albus Dumbledore he never treated Harry like a 15-year-old, and that was one of the things, Harry had really enjoyed about him.

He was always on his toes to visit, 12 Grimmauld Place in London, (Sirius Blacks residence). Sirius almost treated Harry like his best friend, James Potter.

It was Sirius Black, who had purchased the Firebolt broomstick for Harry when the latter had broken his Nimbus 2000.

In fact, if you remember Lilys letters which were kept in Sirius room, there Harry came to know even the first toy broomstick in his life was a gift from Sirius Black.

3. Remus Lupin: Harry Potter. Harry Potter may have never met his parents, but it was the presence of people like Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Weasleys that made Harry feel less lonely at Hogwarts; thats exactly what made him call Hogwarts his home.

Lupin had played the role of an important father figure in Harrys life. When he noticed Harrys life was in perpetual danger, he taught him how to cast a Patronus.

Had it not been for his support and strength, Harry would never have realised his strengths within.

Sometimes their roles reversed too and Harry acted like the guardian. In the seventh part of the book, he even has a weak moment before he becomes a father to Ted.

Insecurity makes him run to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. It was none other than Harry, who told him the harsh truth about how he is being more of an irresponsible parent, rather than a guardian to them.

4. Robin Williams, Dead Poet Society. John Keating has been one of the most progressive English teachers in the history of Hollywood. He encouraged his students to break free from the norms, and taste literature rather than just memorise them from the textbooks.

Keatings, was the perfect role model for the boys of the boarding school who referred to him as the Captain.

5. JM Barrie, Finding Neverland. . Author JM Barrie is popular for his work, Peter Pan, a boy who never grew up. Finding Neverland explored the relationship JM Barrie had shared with five kids, in London.

At a time, when everyone gave Sylvia and her children the wrong kind of glances, merry Mr Barrie felt no qualms in introducing the kids and their mother to Neverland, despite the silently vivid glares from everyone.

Although Barrie had no intention of substituting their fathers place, somehow, during their virtual trips to Neverland, they shared an inexplicable connection none of them had felt before.

6. Ned Stark, Game Of Thrones. One of the fan theories has turned out to be true. Jon Snow was not a bastard.

He is the son of Ned Starks sister who was abducted and raped and thats how Jon Snow was born. Just to save his sisters honour, Ned Stark had claimed Jon to be his bastard son.

Although Jon never really enjoyed this title, Ned never alienated him from his family. When the Starks learnt how to hold a sword, so did Jon. Ned bore the brunt of many rude glances from his wife, but never took it out on Jon Snow.

7.James Gordon, Batman. A hero can be anyone. Even the person who puts a blanket on ones shoulder assuring that not all hope is lost.

Commissioner James Gordon, had unknowingly become a hero in the life of young Bruce Wayne with just a few simple gestures. He even risked being dead, just to catch the notorious Joker.

Like Bruce Wayne had mentioned in one of the cartoons of Batman, James Gordon was one of the white knights of Gotham. He remained the guardian and the watchful protector of Gotham, even before Batman came into existence.

8. Ben from The Intern. Experience is never out of fashion. That was the catch-line of Anne Hathaways film, The Intern.

Ben may not have been in an expert with technology and the way modern offices worked, but his traditional knowledge of love, emotions acted like a backbone in Jules life, who was completely engrossed in becoming a successful business woman.

But secretly she had an irrational fear of being buried with strangers, thats why she consciously chose to remain blind to her failed marriage. But it was Ben, who had calmly removed her irrational fears and reassured her, if she ever feels worried about where she might be placed in the graveyard, he will make sure theres enough space to fit her somewhere between his late wife Molly and him.

9. Joey Tribbiani to Emma, Michael Tribbiani. Remember this scene from above? Amid humour, it was in this particular scene, where Joey Tribbiani stood out to be the protective dad, which he never knew he had within him.

He may not have shared his cookie with Emma, (because Joey doesnt share his food) but he made sure Emma remained safe and sound in his hands every time, like he had promised Rachel, when she gave birth to her.

10. Full House, Joey Jesse . Jesse Katsopolis and Joey Gladstone lead completely different lives before they moved in with Danny Tanner. They probably werent completely comfortable with the idea of being the substitute moms and dads to Diana Jones, Stephanie and Michelle.

But while making breakfasts and cleaning poops, they too developed a bond, with kids, that was equally irrevocable.

British Lions made great breaks against the Maoris but do not look on the same level - Duration: 3:19.

British Lions made great breaks against the Maoris but do not look on the same level

JONATHAN DAVIES and Ben Teo made great breaks against the Maoris but the Lions' support play must improve and be clinical against the All Blacks in the first Test.

I watched New Zealand's attack cut Samoa wide open but Warren Gatland's men don't look on the same level. Jonathan Davies made breaks against the Maoris but the Lions failed to convert.

Since the tour started, the Lions have struggled to score tries and I still think we need a spark in the backline because we won't get many chances come Test time.

Latest updates from the British Lions tour to New Zealand. I don't think the ABs will be fearful of what our backline has shown so far.

In fact, I can't think of a move we've produced from a scrum or line-out to ask questions. Scoring tries can be worked on in training but it has to be instinctive too.

I'll never forget how good Shaun Edwards was in supporting play. Jason Robinson is a SunSport columnist for the Lions tour to New Zealand.

Ben Teo is another player who broke the gainline for the Lions on Saturday. He'd start an attack on one side of the field and keep running forwards.

I've seen so many videos where Shaun will then pop up and score the try. Chris Ashton is the same. He's like a goalscorer in football, he's a winger who sniffs out tries.

It's down to anticipation, work-rate and a hunger to get involved and shoo-in Lions wingers George North and Anthony Watson need to get in better positions to support the ball carrier.

You watch the All Blacks and they bust a gut and it's not just one them – it's two or three at a time. They make it look so easy.

Welsh winger George North needs to find a way to get on the end of chances.

Jason Robinson believes Owen Farrell will come back into the team after injury. It was a pleasing win against the Maori but now we're entering the business end of the tour.

I think there will only be two changes from yesterday's team for the first Test with Owen Farrell back to replace Johnny Sexton and Jonathan Joseph to edge out Davies.

But it's what the Lions do on Saturday that counts and whoever is selected must deliver.   Warren Gatland gets Lions ready for Maori All Blacks rugby match.

UFC Fight Night 111s Holly Holm knew crowd would boo her game plan but didnt care - Duration: 5:02.

UFC Fight Night 111's Holly Holm knew crowd would boo her game plan, but didn't care

SINGAPORE – Former UFC women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm had waited nearly two years to get her hand raised.

If she had to wait for the right moment to strike against Bethe Correia (10-3-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC), so be it, she said after returning to peak form with a head-kick knockout in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 111.

"The game plan was not to rush anything," Holm (11-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) told MMAjunkie after her UFC Fight Pass-streamed win Saturday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

"We knew the crowd might boo; it's the type of game plan the crowd might boo.".

Indeed, the audience signaled its displeasure fairly early in the fight when it became clear both fighters were approaching the main event with more caution than usual. Even referee Marc Goddard intervened to jolt the action, warning the pair for timidity.

But to Holm, the need to put on a show was outweighed by the one to be patient and seize the right opportunity, not just the first one that arrived.

"As soon as I heard it, I just thought, 'You know what, I'm the one in here fighting. I'm going to stick to the game plan, and I'm going to pick the right shot," she said.

As it turned out, that came early in the third round when Correia got impatient and started taunting Holm, looking to engage in a brawl.

It was a moment for which Holm had prepared, and soon after, she launched the fight-ending kick, which set up her first win since a shocking knockout of Ronda Rousey in November 2015.

Asked whether Correia's taunting prompted her to seek revenge, Holm said she was unfazed. Yet she still relished the idea of landing that signature move that stung Rousey.

"If I was training to fight me, I'd be like, 'OK, she has a left kick. Let's watch out for it," Holm said.

"It's one of those things, just that competitive side of me that thinks, 'You know it's coming, but I still want to hit you with it.'.

"The taunting doesn't do anything to me. That's never affected me in any fight I've ever had. My whole plan was to stick to my game plan.".

Now, Holm gets to drive a different narrative than the one that followed her into the fight.

Before she smacked Correia upside the head, she'd lost three straight fights, losing the women's bantamweight title and a chance to capture the inaugural women's featherweight belt in her previous outing.

Moving back into the win column means she gets a break from doubts about her viability, and it validates the approach she took to prepare for the fight.

"I really wanted to enjoy this camp, this fight week, and I wanted to remind myself over and over that I do this because I love it," she said.

"A lot of people keep asking me, 'What are you going to do now? You're on a three-fight losing streak – what are you going to do now?' It doesn't really matter what everybody thinks I'm going to do.

I started fighting because I love it and I'm passionate about it, and that was the reminder here. I'm going to be me. I'm the one who's getting in there and fighting, anyway.".

The crowd might not have liked every moment of her effort, but things turned out just fine. As for what comes next, she isn't too worried about it.

"As far as what's next for me, I see a beer and some french fries, and a beautiful view over Singapore at the hotel," Holm said.

America's Cup: Two wins nice, but too early to celebrate, says Burling - Duration: 5:43.

America's Cup: Two wins nice, but too early to celebrate, says Burling

Two wins are a great start, but Team New Zealand are under no illusions that their Americas Cup challenge is a done deal. And they only have to look at the wise-cracking Aussie sitting opposite them to understand that.

The Kiwis dominated (mostly) the opening day against Oracle Team USA off Bermuda today, quickly erasing a 1-0 deficit and building their own advantage with two wins from the opening two races of a first-to-seven format.

Oracle took a one-win edge into the match, after winning the challenger qualifying series earlier this month, but that advantage didnt last long, as Emirates Team NZ took out the first encounter by 30 seconds and then put more than a minute on their rivals in the second.

Now 1-0 up, Team NZ helmsman Peter Burling was satisfied with the score-line, but less so with the performance.

The winning margins were slightly flattering - the Kiwis let big leads slip in both races, but still recovered their poise for easy victories, which is probably an indication of how quickly things can change in this form of racing.

Its no secret, to win the Americas Cup, in our case, you have to win eight races, said Burling afterwards.

Were really happy to get two races on the board early, but were under no illusions its going to get a lot harder than that and it was relatively hard today.

If theres one thing these guys have shown, they fight incredibly hard and were just preparing for that battle over the next couple of days.

It was really fun yachting out there - it felt like our boat was going really fast, which was really pleasing - but we definitely had a lot of issues on board today to let them back in the game.

We were really happy with the composure the guys showed to hold onto those leads and convert them.

Of course, Oracle skipper Jimmy Spithill led the historic comeback from 8-1 down to defend the Auld Mug in San Francisco four years ago, so he knows how to come back from an early deficit.

But Team NZ also showed they were capable of mistakes that could let the US syndicate back in the hunt, even when they seemed to be dominating.

In the opening race, they rounded the final mark 55 seconds ahead, but fell off their foils and had to regroup, eventually finishing just 30 seconds up.

It was a moment reminiscent of their one-second victory over Artemis Racing in the challenger final series.

It wasnt actually our best manoeuvre, admitted Burling. It actually reminded me of the one we had against Artemis, where we had an incredibly tight finish.

The really pleasing thing out of it was, when everyone did scramble, we still managed to get the job done, no worries. Were really happy with the way the guys kept their composure today.

Its no secret that it was a really tricky day out there and if you made a small mistake, it ends up being a really costly one, which I think Oracle showed in that last race.

Were really excited with where we checked in today, but under no illusions weve got a lot of hard work to do over the next week or so to keep improving, keep pushing forward, because we know thats exactly what these guys will be doing.

In the second race, Team NZ built a lead of more than a minute, but failed to cover their opponents up the fifth beat and watched that advantage dwindle to just a few metres.

Oracle actually protested that the Kiwis had not allowed enough space around the top mark, but no penalty was imposed.

Immediately after the gate, Spithill blew a gybe that saw his boat fall off its foils and concede all the ground it had made up previously. It was an interesting end to that beat, said Burling.

Like weve been saying, its incredibly puffy and shifty and tricky out there, and the really pleasing thing for us is how the guys on board held their composure and executed what we had to do to stay in front.

We definitely lost a lot - we did some bad manoeuvres and got stuck in some pretty light breeze, but then.

to be able to pull off that last tack and get round that mark first definitely sealed that last race for us..

Burling admitted he probably should have covered Oracle up that fifth beat and emphasised his team would be reviewing their performance closely.

Two more races are scheduled for tomorrow morning (NZ Time), and then five days off before the series resumes with races five and six.
