Arsenal warned off Jack Butland after club meeting but Stoke could sell next summer

Reports this week have claimed the Gunners are ready to step up their pursuit of the 24-year-old. Arsene Wenger is looking for a long-term solution in goal with Petr Cech now 35 and David Ospina expected to leave.

Butland was sidelined through injury for 12 months but returned to action for Stoke in April and gave reminders of his huge potential. And now he is back fit, Arsenal are interested in making a move.

But according to The Stoke Sentinel, the Potters have issued a hands off warning to the likes of Arsenal. Stokes hierarchy have no plans to sell Butland this summer, with the club expecting to see links regarding their star goalkeeper.

Butlands future was discussed in a transfer summit meeting on Thursday between chairman Peter Coates, vice chairman John Coates, chief executive Tony Scholes and manager Mark Hughes. The point was reiterated that their No1 would be staying at the Britannia.

An injury-free season is now hoped for the shot-stopper, which could see him in contention to become Englands first-choice keeper for the 2018 World Cup.

Following Jordan Pickfords £30million move from Sunderland to Everton too, Butlands value would certainly rise by next summer if he has a productive campaign.

While Stoke will rebuff any potential approach from Arsenal over the coming weeks, their attitude may change next year.

The Stoke Sentinel add Hughes side could well have a big decision to make over the timing of any sale in 2018. It is said offloading Butland next summer would likely then shape Stokes entire transfer strategy.

It remains to be seen though if Wenger will try to lure the England keeper to Arsenal before the window shuts.

Arsenal's Emiliano Martinez offered dream move to Valencia… but it's a nightmare for Wenger - Duration: 3:12.

Arsenal's Emiliano Martinez offered dream move to Valencia… but it's a nightmare for Arsene Wenger

ARSENAL keeper Emi Martinez is being offered a dream move to Valencia — but it is a nightmare for Arsene Wenger.

The big Argentinian is wanted by the La Liga men who have sold their two shot-stoppers and see him as their next No 1. Emiliano Martinez has been offered a dream move to Valencia.

It would be the major breakthrough the South American has wanted since joining the Gunners and being left in the shadows or loaned out.

Valencia want to buy Martinez, 24, for around £5million, but that would leave Wenger with a keeper crisis he had not planned.

Number two David Ospina is already a target for wealthy Turkish side Fenerbahce — as we first revealed — and has waited patiently for the nod to be sold.

And with Wojciech Szczesny also on the shopping list of several Serie A sides, Wenger could face losing THREE top keepers in this tricky window.

The Argentine has played just six first-team matches for the Gunners.

Emiliano Martinez factfile Born in Mar Del Plata, Argentina in 1992 Joined the Gunners from Independiente in 2010 as a youth player Has made six first-team appearances for Arsenal Spent time on-loan at Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham and Wolves Was named in Uefa Team of the Week after his cleansheet against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League Has represented his country at Under-17 and Under-20 level.

The 24-year-old has spent loans away from the club including a stint at Rotherham.

Arsene Wenger may be forced to delve into the market to buy a new keeper.   The best of Lyon forward and Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette.

Martinez hopes for the nod to go after seasons out of the limelight but now Wenger is likely to need to buy at least one reserve for Petr Cech in the coming weeks.

Arsenal are big fans of Stoke's Jack Butland but it would take a big fee to get him. And the England hopeful might not want to be a Gunners reserve in a World Cup year.

Trump's travel ban, reinstated but restricted, will raise questions about who can enter U.S. - Duration: 7:35.

JUDY WOODRUFF: This final day of the Supreme Court term has revived a controversial item

on President Trump's agenda: his travel ban.

The justices announced that they will hear arguments this fall on the constitutionality

of the ban.

In the meantime, they reinstated a limited version of the order, affecting travelers

from six mostly-Muslim countries.

Mr. Trump lauded the Supreme Court's action today as -- quote -- "a clear victory for

our national security," adding: "It allows the travel suspension for the six terror-prone

countries and the refugee suspension to become largely effective."

We explore the legal and practical implications now with our regular Supreme Court watcher

Marcia Coyle of "The National Law Journal," and Alan Gomez.

He covers immigration for USA Today.

Welcome to you both.

Marcia, let's start with you.

Let's take this one at a time.

We have got two things that the court was asked to look at by the Trump administration,

first to grant review on hearing the arguments on the executive order.

MARCIA COYLE, "The National Law Journal": Right, Judy.

The legal challenges to the executive order focused on basically two provisions, the 90-day

travel ban from six predominantly Muslim countries and the 120-day suspension of the U.S. refugee

assistance program.

The government asks the Supreme Court to review two federal appellate court rulings that struck

down the executive order, one, and they ruled separately, claiming that the order violated

the Establishment Clause of the constitution because it was religious discrimination.

And a second ground was that the executive order exceeded the president's authority under

federal immigration law, a provision, in particular, that prohibits discrimination on the basis

of nationality.

The Supreme Court said it would hear arguments on the merits of those two appellate court

rulings in October.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And, meantime and, separately, the justices were also asked by the Trump

administration to lift the injunctions that had been imposed on the travel ban.

What did they say about that?

MARCIA COYLE: Right.

OK, those two federal appellate courts had approved injunctions blocking the travel ban

and the suspension of the refugee program.

The Supreme Court said that the bans would be lifted only -- would be applied only against

foreign nationals who had no bona fide relationship with an individual or an entity in the United

States.

And the court went on to explain that in terms of a bona fide relationship, it should be

a familial relationship with an individual or, when it comes to an entity, a formal documented

relationship, for example, a student has been accepted at a university in the United States.

JUDY WOODRUFF: So, they were imposing a -- there had to be some connection already with the

United States.

MARCIA COYLE: Exactly.

JUDY WOODRUFF: For these individuals.

Three justices disagreed with this partial listing.

What did they say?

MARCIA COYLE: Justice Thomas wrote for the dissenters and was joined by Justices Alito

and Gorsuch.

Justice Thomas explained -- he was most in disagreement about the partial lifting of

the injunctions against the executive order.

He said it was unworkable, that it was going to create a flood gate of litigation as the

government, as government officials tried to determine what is a bona fide relationship

with an individual or an entity?

Those three justices would have kept -- would have allowed the ban and the executive order

to go into full effect.

JUDY WOODRUFF: So, Alan Gomez, let me turn to you.

You report, as we said, on immigration, travel issues.

What is the immediate effect of this ruling today?

ALAN GOMEZ, USA Today: The immediate effect is that this travel ban or what's left of

it can go into effect as early as Thursday.

But it's important to note that, once it does into effect, this is going to look very different

from what we saw back in January, when President Trump first signed his first travel ban on

January 27.

If you remember, at the time, everybody from these countries was blocked from entering

the country, so people were stranded at U.S. airports or blocked from getting onto their

U.S.-bound flights overseas.

But things have changed dramatically since then.

His revised travel ban allows for green card holders to travel, allows for people who hold

visas to travel.

And now what the Supreme Court has ordered, this establishing this bona fide relationship

that Marcia was explaining a second ago, that's where we're going to start trying to figure

out -- that's where the government is going to start trying to figure out who can come

in and who cannot.

And so there's a lot of gray area and we do expect to see some litigation about this,

because it's -- it's one thing if you have a relative in the U.S. who is trying to claim

you.

That person can come in.

If you have a job offer from a U.S. employer, that person can come in.

But what if you're just businessperson coming over here to have a couple of meetings on

a short-term visa?

Is that a bona fide relationship?

If you're a tourist who already has hotel reservations and plane reservations, is that

a bona fide relationship?

That's what we're going to start seeing in those first couple days when the ban finally

goes into effect.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And that's my question.

Just how clear are these guidelines that the justices set down?

Do we assume immigration officials are scrambling today to put this in black and white to figure

it out?

ALAN GOMEZ: There are a lot of attorneys within the Department of Justice and Homeland Security

and the State Department and a lot of immigration advocacy attorneys who are just diving into

whatever case law, whatever precedents they can find to figure out what exactly this bona

fide relationship is.

The justices provided a few examples that we have cited already, if you have a job offer,

if you have been admitted to a U.S. university and if you have a direct relative.

But beyond that, it's pretty much wide open now.

So we're trying to figure out what that means.

To give some context here, in 2016, about 108,000 people came to the United States legally

from these six countries.

From a quick accounting of that, the majority of them will still be allowed to enter the

country under the guidelines set forth by the Supreme Court, because most of those were

refugees, had no direct ties that we're talking about.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Right.

ALAN GOMEZ: But once we get into some of that other visa categories that the relationship

is a little bit more tenuous, that is what has to play out in the next few weeks, to

see what government determines to be a bona fide relationship and whether the courts agree

with them.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Very final quick question, Alan.

The travel ban that was issued by the president last March was intended to be temporary while

the government figured out vetting procedures.

They said it was going to take 90 days.

Where does that stand?

ALAN GOMEZ: Well, that review finally started last week.

In a separate ruling, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco sort of

separated that vetting review from this legal case that we're going through right now and

said that the administration can start conducting that review.

In short, what they're trying to do is gauge what kind of information we get from foreign

governments to screen people coming into the country.

So they just started doing that last Monday.

And so, right, the clock starts now.

They have -- they're going to review it for 20 days, submit a list to the president.

Then those governments will have 50 days to get off the list.

And at the conclusion of that vetting review, then the president can decide whether he wants

to impose more or fewer travel restrictions against different countries around the country

-- or world.

JUDY WOODRUFF: All right.

Alan Gomez, USA Today, Marcia Coyle, thank you both.

MARCIA COYLE: My pleasure, Judy.

ALAN GOMEZ: Thank you.

How Christo didn't care about the HSC but got stressed anyway - Duration: 2:09.

I mean, everyone has to do the HSC,

you just gotta cop it, I think.

My name is Christo, I'm 20 turning 21 in like, a month.

I finished school in 2013

The subjects that I did were

Business Studies,

Ancient History,

Advanced English,

Visual Arts,

General Maths

and PDHPE.

My best subject was Visual Arts.

I didn't always get the best marks -

I generally did get better marks in that subject

I think that's just because it suited me more,

like, more free thinking.

I wasn't very good on the day before exams.

I'd kind of try cram and then I'd stop

and watch an episode of something

because I couldn't I couldn't just, like, sit there and watch it

or look at a computer or a book for so long.

I got really stressed during exams

just because I felt like I knew

that I wasn't going to do too well and

deep down I didn't actually care too much,

and the only thing I was stressed about was

what I was going to do after school.

I wasn't really interested in doing

anything that required a high ATAR.

I wasn't really interested in doing any

Arts degrees or anything -

I was more into something with which required a

portfolio or maybe even something that was more hands-on like carpentry

or a trade.

Mum would always would ask me if

everything was okay and like, I'd always say, yeah everything's fine.

I just, like, deep down, I was just really stressed about

where I was going to be going after school.

I knew that the HSC didn't really suit me -

I didn't really care too much for it

but I was worried about what was

going to happen to me after school.

I did have expectations because

I was interested in going to Fine Arts.

So I did have in my head, like

I wanted to get an ATAR above 70 something,

so I could get into COFA with a portfolio

because I knew I wasn't going to get above 80.

I knew that like there's life after the ATAR.

The most important thing I learned

was not to worry about

what this number was, at the end of the year,

because I knew that there's ways of

getting into uni without the number.

I didn't get the ATAR

but it didn't really bother me too much.

I ended up going into

design school so Billy Blue.

Simpler Log but a Little More Complex - Duration: 5:06.

Alright, here is another

log type of function

that is a little more complex

but about like the last one.

Pretty straightforward. I have it written here

so let me get this down for you.

It is log (woo-that is a big L)

of x^2 - x -1

is 0

Ok, there is some confusion with logs;

we still have the same definition

that we need.

We have log base a of x is y

is true if and only if we have a^y = x.

So what does that mean in this case?

Well, we do not have a base showing but remember

when we don't have the base this is the common log base 10

Write a 10 in for the base.

Let me change this a little bit, it is not quite like I want it.

Unfortunately, my pen is a little fat on ink

Let me change the width to that

So here I will have a 10 down here, that's better

So I have log base 10, because I have common log, and it started as just a log

Where now, I will use this definition

and I am gonna have 10^0 is equal to x^2 -x-1.

So 10^0 is just 1.

Alright, now when you look at this originally

and it just says log(x^2-x-1)=0,

you do not want to get confused and

think you can use regular algebra.

You must use this definition first

to get rid of the log.

So now that we've done that and simplified everything

we now have to go back to the algebra like in previous videos

Take away 1 and take away 1.

That is 0 = x^2 - x - 2.

Now, I am going to do this

So, I have these factors

And we know how to solve them.

I will just shorten it.

We know it will be the opposite of what we see

We have 2 and -1.

Now, if I put either of these in the original, it should work out.

We cannot take a log of a negative number

So we should be okay here.

I put in the 2 and get 4 - 2 - 1

We are good to go.

If I plug in the -1, I get 1 +1 is 2 and minus 1

We get 1 again

So we are good.

So let's get a little crazy

and change the color

I am joking, haha, seriously.

Alright, here is another one.

Along the same lines here; oh, that does not show up well

Let me go back to the red

Alright, if I have log base 3 of x^2 - 8x +15

is equal to 1.

So now we have the same kind of thing, but we have more numbers and the base written in.

Take this 3 and raise it to the first (3^1)

which is always the first step to get rid of the log

Ok, so I have this

Use the algebra again, take away 3, take away 3

Alright, from here I want to factor 12

so I will get -8 in the middle.

That means we will have -2 and -6.

So our only options with that are 1, 12 and 2, 6 and 3, 4

So it has to be the 2 and 6.

The only way to get 12 here

So from this I see x is 2 and 6.

Plug these back in the original and they work.

You always want to do that-go back to the original.

Ok

Hope that helps!

Promoter Hearn Im a big Conor fan but he has no chance vs Floyd - Duration: 4:16.

Promoter Hearn: I'm a big Conor fan, but he has no chance vs. Floyd

Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn has rose to considerable prominence on the world boxing stage.

The highest-profile fighter the Englishman currently promotes is heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, but he also has the likes of Kell Brook, Tony Bellew, and Irish Olympic gold medalist Katie Taylor in his stable.

Joshua's win over Wladimir Klitschko in April is believed to have broken the UK PPV record, which previously stood at 1.5 million buys.

Hearn recently fielded questions from Twitter in a piece for GQ Magazine, and inevitably the August 26th mega-showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor was brought up.

He had plenty of praise for McGregor as a fighter and as a personality, but he doesn't see how the UFC lightweight champion beats Mayweather in his own sport.

Well, with my promoter's hat on it I can tell you it is a huge event, it will create a huge revenue and it is going to break box office records.

I am a huge Conor McGregor fan, I think he is a legend of MMA and I think he is one of the world's greatest self-promoters.

His story is inspirational, he has come from absolutely nothing and worked his way to the top, and talked his way into this position. And Floyd Mayweather is the boxing equivalent.

So it will make them both an awful lot of money. But does McGregor have a chance? Absolutely not.

You have to remember, he is fighting a man so good, in his last fight against Manny Pacquiao he hardly took a punch. If Mayweather wants, he could evade McGregor all night long.

So what's Conor going to do if he can't hit him? He can't hold him and put him in a choke hold.

Perhaps the more eyebrow-raising quote from Hearn had to do with addressing the "boxing is dead" crowd, and the fact that McGregor's career payday is coming through taking a boxing fight outside of the UFC.

The thing I do find interesting about this whole event, though, is that recently a lot of people have said boxing is dead and MMA is the future.

But here you have the biggest name in MMA resorting to boxing, for not just his biggest payday, but a payday that he could never achieve through his own sport. I think that is good for boxing.

Exact financial details will contractually not be disclosed by either party, but UFC president Dana White believes that McGregor could earn in the neighborhood of $100 million, which would easily outpace any UFC fight he's had.

Mayweather is expected to challenge all financial and PPV buyrate records set by Mayweather's win over Manny Pacquiao in 2015. For the record, the subject of UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic fighting Anthony Joshua was not brought up in the Q&A.

A great scare! But it was funny after all! - Duration: 0:41.

My vacation this year was a trip

to an exotic place with my daughter.

So at the end of the afternoon there is nothing

better than walking near the small dunes of

Saidia in Morocco,

waiting for the dromedaries to appear, also

known as Arab camels, since

there is only one hunchback.

They are docile and playful, the young people

are very fast, smart and curious ...

.hei hei hei hei,get out pussy ...get out ...help! !!!

Oops! They just wanted to lick the camera!
