UPDATE.
THE OFFICER BECAME FREE AND
FELL IN THE STREET.
THE VEHICLE
CONTINUED FOR A DISTANCE BEFORE
IT CRASHED AND WAS ABANDONED ON

THE OFFICER IS IN CRITICAL
CONDITION.
SHORTLY AFTER WARDS
A 15-YEAR-OLD SUSPECT WALKED
INTO BROOKDALE HOSPITAL WITH A
GUNSHOT WOUND AND IS IN SERIOUS
CONDITION.
AT THIS TIME WE
BELIEVE THAT THAT SUSPECT WAS IN
THE VEHICLE THAT DRAGGED THE
POLICE OFFICER.
THAT VEHICLE
WAS RECENTLY STOLEN ON LONG
ISLAND.
THE POLICE OFFICER WAS
ABLE TO DISCHARGE HIS SERVICE
WEAPON TWICE WHILE BEING
DRAGGED.
THERE'S SEVERAL

CRITICAL CONDITION HERE AT
KING'S COUNTY.
MY THANKS TO THE
EMERGENCY ROOM STAFF AND DOCTORS
THAT HAVE BEEN ENSURING THAT OUR
OFFICER GETTING THE BEST CARE
POSSIBLE.
OFFICER VEVE IS
MARRIED WITH A 2-YEAR-OLD
DAUGHTER.
PAT LIMP IS GOING TO
-- PAT LYNCH IS GOING TO SAY A
FEW WORDS BUT BEFORE THAT I ASK
ALL NEW YORKERS TO KEEP POLICE
OFFICER VEVE IN YOUR PRAYERS.
THANK YOU.
WE STAND -- A POLICE
OFFICER WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING
WANT OUT TO MAKE SURE THAT
THERE'S NOT GUN VIOLENCE ON OUR
STREETS, TO MAKE SURE THAT WE
CAN WAKE UP IN SAFETY, AND NOW
HE WASN'T SAFE AND NOW HE'S
INJURED.
LIKE THE COMMISSIONER
SAID WE NEED ALL OF YOUR HELP TO
THINK ABOUT AND PRAY FOR THIS
POLICE OFFICER AND MORE
IMPORTANTLY THAN THAT THE FAMILY
THAT NOW WAITS AND WAITS AND
WAITS, HOPEFULLY TO GET GOOD
NEWS.
SO WE NEED YOUR HELP.

THANKS.
WE'LL
TAKE A FEW QUESTIONS
ABOUT THIS INCIDENT.
HOW DO YOU CONNECT THE
15-YEAR-OLD TO THIS CASE?
HE WALKED INTO BROOKDALE
HOSPITAL AND SAID THAT HE WAS
SHOT.
I'M NOT GOING TO GO INTO
TOO MANY FURTHER DETAILS AS FAR
AS IDENTIFICATION.
[INAUDIBLE QUESTION]
DOESN'T SEEM TO BE
CONNECTED.
WHERE ON THE ISLAND WAS THE
VEHICLE STOLEN?
VALLEY STREAM.
WHEN
?
A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO.
S IS --
IS IT YOUR BELIEF THAT THE
OFFICER CAUSED THE BULLET WOUND?
HE WAS ABLE TO DISCHARGE HIS
WEAPON TWO TIMES SO MOST LIKELY.
WHERE WAS THE KID SHOT?
HE WAS SHOT IN THE FACE.
REQUEST
--
CAN YOU DESCRIBE THE EXTENT OF
THE OFFICER'S INJURIES?
NO, I'M NOT GOING TO GO INTO
THAT BUT HE'S IN CRITICAL
CONDITION.
THROUGH THE DAY
TODAY, FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF
DAYS I WOULD LIKE ALL NEW
YORKERS TO THINK ABOUT OFFICER
VEVE AND HIS FAMILY AND OFFER
HIM YOUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS.
WAS THE POLICE OFFICER
HOLDING ONTO THE VEHICLE?
THAT'S CURRENTLY PART OF THE
INFORMATION.
WAS THE HONDA INVOLVED?
WE WERE CONDUCTING AN
INVESTIGATION OF A 911 CALL FOR
SHOTS FIRED.
WAS THERE SOMETHING ON
STATEN ISLAND?
YEAH, WE HAD -- IT'S NOT
CONNECTED.
IN FRONT OF 75
VICTORY BOULEVARD YESTERDAY
MORNING AT 3:58 WE HAD A CAR,
RED FOUR DOOR SEDAN, THAT WAS
PULLED OVER AND IT DROVE OFF,
THAT OFFICER WAS INJURED ALSO
AND HE HAD A CONTUSION TO HIS
LEFT SHOULDER, HIS LEFT ARM AND
HE'S STILL IN THE HOSPITAL FOR
OBSERVATION.
THANK YOU.
THANK YOU
.
ALL RIGHT.
WE'VE BEEN
LISTENING IN LIVE TO POLICE
COMMISSIONER JAMES O'NEIL AT
KING'S COUNTY HOSPITAL WHERE A
9-YEAR POLICE VETERAN, AN
OFFICER IS IN CRITICAL
CONDITION.
HE'S MARRIED WITH A
2-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER.
HE WAS
MAKING A CAR STOP LAST NIGHT IN
EAST FLATBUSH, EAST 53RD STREET
AND SCHNEIDER AVENUE, WHEN HE
WAS DRAGGED BY A VEHICLE.
POLICE BELIEVE THAT THE
15-YEAR-OLD DRIVER OF THAT
VEHICLE, THE SUSPECT, WALKED
INTO BROOKDALE HOSPITAL WHERE A
GUNSHOT WOUND.
IT'S MORE LIKELY
THAT THAT GUNSHOT WOUND CAME
FROM THE POLICE OFFICER WHO THE
COMMISSIONER SAID WAS ABLE TO
FIRE HIS WEAPON AS HE WAS BEING
DRAGGED BY THAT CAR.
HE SAID
INITIALLY POLICE WERE
INVESTIGATING IN THE AREA FOR A
911 CALL FOR SHOTS FIRED.
THEY
HAVE NOT RELEASED THE IDENTITY
OF THAT SUSPECT.
AGAIN, A NYPD
POLICE OFFICER IS IN CRITICAL
CONDITION AT KING'S COUNTY
HOSPITAL.

CNN 10 - June 4, 2017 | A Supersonic Car Project Set to Steal Land Speed Record - Duration: 10:01.
Midway through the week, we`re glad you`re taking 10 minutes for CNN STUDENT NEWS. I`m
Carl Azuz.
First up, surveying the damage in Taiwan. A major storm made landfall in the island`s
east coast Monday. Typhoon Dujuan brought wind gusts as high
as 153 miles per hour and prompted the evacuation of 5,000 people from some northeastern mountain
areas. They got 20 inches of rain in a short amount
of time. That increased the threat of flooding and landslides.
The storm killed two people and injured hundreds of others. It knocked out power to half a
million before moving on to mainland China. Dujuan had
weakened a bit by the time it made landfall. But more than 260,000 Chinese were evacuated.
As the international fight against the ISIS terrorist group continues, we`re catching
up with some people who escaped the militants.
A little over a year ago, ISIS trapped almost 40,000 Yazidis on a mountain in northern Iraq.
Yazidis are an ancient religious minority. ISIS wanted
to kill them because their beliefs are different from the extremist Muslim views of ISIS. Thanks
to a massive operation to evacuate the Yazidis and
fight ISIS, thousands of lives were saved.
In the mad dash to climb aboard a flight to safety, families scrambled to stay
together. These desperate people spent nine days trapped on a barren mountain under siege
from ISIS militants who chased them from their homes.
Amid the chaos and gunfire, terror frozen on the face of a girl in purple, 14-year-old
Aziza Hamed.
More than a year later, we found Aziza and her family in this refugee camp in Iraqi Kurdistan.
I`m looking forward to this. We`re going to meet some old friends that we encountered
in very dramatic circumstances more than a year
ago. And they`re right up here.
Dunia, how are you?
Aziza and her older 18-year-old sister, Dunia, are here along with their elder brother, Thabet,
his wife and his three
children. Their situation now much better than the unfinished construction site where
they lived for the first seven months after ISIS made them flee
their homes.
The girls tell me they go to school here and they say the camp has started to feel like
home.
Aziza, you`ve gotten a little taller than Dunia since I saw you last.
But it does not take long for terrible memories to resurface.
What`s making you sad right now?
"When I see you," Aziza says, "I remember what happened."
We saw ISIS with our own eyes, how they were capturing people. If we drove down the wrong
road
that day, we would have ended up in ISIS hands, but we took a different road and made it to
the mountain.
In the year since their narrow escape, their father`s health has deteriorated, and he can
no longer walk. No one knows what happened to two
elder brothers, who were captured by ISIS last year and haven`t been heard from since.
And another brother, 23-year-old Karem, smuggled himself to Europe on the migrant trail taken
by so many other people fleeing the Middle East.
Hey, Karem.
Hello.
Hey, how are you? Where are you?
Deutschland.
Germany?
Yes.
I ask Karem if he misses Iraq.
No, that`s gone. Iraq is gone for me. I lost it. I want to build a new future for myself.
There`s no future in
Iraq.
That hopelessness, shared by so many people we talked to in refugee camps in northern
Iraq, where people like Aziza and Dunia`s
older brother, Thabet, still struggle to deal with the trauma they endured.
"I just want to start a new life," he says. "And I want my family to stay safe and to
stay together."
One of the few times 15-year-old Aziza really smiles is when I ask her what she`d like to
do to the men from ISIS who attacked her family.
"I would stomp on their heads and kill them," she says.
This girl may have escaped to live another day, but her innocence has been forever lost.
Ivan Watson, CNN, Dahak, Iraqi Kurdistan.
We`re roving all over North America in today`s "Roll Call".
We`ll start in Canada, the province is Alberta, the city is Calgary, the school is St. Francis
High, home of the Browns.
Moving south to the central U.S. state of Kansas, we`ve got the Indians of Andale High
School watching today. Hello, Andale.
And though Anchorage isn`t the capital of Alaska, it is the state`s largest city and
it`s where the Rams are watching at Wendler Middle School.
Time for the shoutout.
At sea level under normal conditions, how fast would you have to be travelling to be
supersonic?
If you know it, shout it out.
Is it: (a) 253 miles per hour, (b) 530 miles per hour, (c) 612 miles per hour, or (d) 762
miles per hour?
You`ve got three seconds. Go!
On an average day, sound waves travel at about 762 miles per hour. So, option (d) is supersonic.
That`s your answer and that`s your shoutout.
Of course, jets can break the speed of sound, but can a car? One did in 1997 in Nevada`s
Black Rock Desert. A British driver took a jet
engine vehicle to 763 miles per hour, a Guinness World Record that still stands.
It was supersonic and it`s kind of slow, at least when compared to what engineers hope
what this will do. It`s called the Bloodhound Project,
estimated cost, $62 million, paid for by sponsors and supporters.
Critics may say it`s a waste of money, but the project`s director says he hopes it will
inspire Britain`s future engineers.
It looks like something out of the latest "James Bond" movie. And there`s even a cube-
like character. But this is reality.
Say hello to the Bloodhound, billed as the world`s fastest racing car, making its world
debut in London.
Zero to 1,000 miles an hour in 55 seconds. And then when we go through the measured mile
3.6
seconds, a mile in 3.6 seconds. Then we`ve got to think about stopping.
This is going to be driven by an RAF pilot. As you can see it`s not quite done yet but
when it is, it is going to be supersonic.
This race car is part jet and part rocket.
This is known as a hybrid rocket. It`s very, very clean and 98 percent efficient. It`s
amazing thing.
It was built by a team of Formula One and aerospace experts with help from the British
Royal Air Force and Army Engineers.
The goal: to smash the current land speed record of 763 miles an hour.
The outside is sleek and aerodynamic. And the inside -- well, we`ll let an expert tell
you all about it.
You`ve got a most impressive jet engine, the EJ200, coupled with the next generation of
space
travel, rocket motors are being built in the European Space Agency and then the most extraordinary
aerodynamic design.
Next up for the Bloodhound: a trip in South Africa to race on a track built especially
for the supersonic machine. The goal is to hit 800
miles per hour next year and 1,000 miles per hour in 2017. No doubt this race car is already
on 007`s wish list.
Sherisse Pham, CNN, London.
Before we go -- a monkey on a loose. Here he is hanging out on a mailbox. Whoops, time
for a water break. All this being loose makes the
money thirsty.
Hey, street sign, I`m shaking things up.
So, what, where, why -- well, it happened in Florida. A pet macaque monkey named Zeke
got out of his cage and monkeyed around a while until his owner
came to collect him.
Zeke`s neighbors had seen this before, so they kept their distance fearing a macaque
attack.
So, how does he keep getting out? Must have the mon-key.
Neighbors probably wish he`d just mon-kept to his house. But if he mon- keeps on doing
this, you`ll have to wonder what this prim-ate to make him such an escape artist.
I`m Carl Azuz, and that`s CNN STUDENT NEWS.

Car Reviews / Facelifted Nissan X-Trail For Europe Gets Autonomous Tech - Duration: 4:23.
Facelifted Nissan X-Trail For Europe Gets Autonomous Tech
Today Juventus and Real Madrid will determine who will be the champion in this year's UEFA Champions League in Europe – the biggest soccer tournament for club teams on the continent.
The final match coincides with the introduction of the facelifted version of the X-Trail from Nissan – the official partner of the championship.
Just like its American brother (the redesigned Rogue), the largest Nissan SUV in Europe is getting a prettier face with more prominent radiator grille, larger logo, sharper-edged headlights with LED daytime running lights, and reshaped fog lamps.
All those components are part of the brand's latest version of its V-Motion face. https://icdn-9. motor1. com/images/mgl/JQWeg/s1/nissan-x-trail-facelift. jpg.
The refreshed model brings several cool features, like a hands-free functionality for the electric tailgate, which is operated by simply kicking a foot under the rear bumper, optional adaptive LED headlights, new 18-inch wheels, and a number of new exterior colors, including the Orange Pearl, Red Pearl, Blue Pearl Metallic, and Dark Brown Pearl.
Probably the most important new system is the ProPILOT autonomous drive technology, which will be available for the model next year.
It will "control the steering, acceleration, and braking in a single lane on highways during heavy traffic congestion and high-speed cruising." The system is part of Nissans Intelligent Mobility range of techs, which also includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The engine portfolio remains unchanged and contains three different options. The base unit is a 1.6-liter diesel with 130 horsepower (97 kilowatts), offered with a six-speed manual or a CVT, and either a FWD or an AWD.
There's also a bigger 20-liter diesel motor, which was introduced for the X-Trail last year. It is available with the same transmissions and sends 177 hp (132 kW) to the front or all four wheels.
Gasoline fans will have only one choice – a 1. 6-liter turbo unit with 163 hp (123 kW), mated exclusively to a six-speed manual gearbox sending power to the front axle.
Nissan says, since the launch of the third generation X-Trail, more than 115,000 units of the model have been delivered to European customers - sales doubled from 2014 to 2015, and the total rose again by another 40 percent the following year.
The facelifted crossover will go on sale in August this year.

Ford investigates causes of car sickness - Duration: 2:48.
Ford investigates causes of car sickness
Car sickness can be the bane of many a road trip.
In an attempt to find a way to combat the problem, scientists at the Ford Research and Innovation Center in Germany recently teamed up with motion sickness experts in Norway to study the causes of car sickness, and to find possible ways of preventing it.
Some of what the researchers found may not be entirely surprising, like how quick stop-starts, winding roads and where you sit can exacerbate the situation. But the study additionally found some interesting things.
For instance, goldfish can also get queasy in a car, but babies dont until they become toddlers and start walking.
The study discovered that two-thirds of the population will at some point experience car sickness, and its most prevalent if youre a passenger, especially if youre a child or teenager.
Sitting in the back seat and watching some type of a video game or movie (what children and teenagers like to do) with your head down for more than 10 minutes makes it worse.
Researchers found that if video screens were mounted higher and passengers could see more of the road ahead on either side, they were less likely to get sick.
That may be a consideration as Ford thinks about where to place video screens that are currently embedded in the back of headrests or mounted from the ceiling.
Short of waiting for that to happen, here are some recommendations that the researchers suggested to help passengers forego the effects of car sickness. If you cant sit in the front seat, move to the middle of the back seat.
Drink cola, eat ginger biscuits, support your head with a pillow, and keep fresh air flowing in the vehicle. Then again theres this advice for drivers from Prof. Jelte Bos, who was involved in the study.
For many drivers who think their child has a problem with car sickness, it might simply be that their child has a problem with their driving, he says.
Adopting a smoother driving style goes a long way towards reducing feelings of nausea – and it reduces fuel costs too..

Car Reviews / 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super diesel review - Duration: 15:48.
2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super diesel review
The is not simply another new premium rear-wheel drive sedan to rival the BMW 3 Series, Jaguar XE, Audi A4 and top-selling Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Because more than being a direct successor to the Alfa 159, the reborn Giulia symbolises the rescue of one of motorings most iconic brands from precarious near-irrelevance.
Alfa Romeo was founded in Milan in 1910 as Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili (ALFA). When entrepreneur Nicola Romeo took over in 1915, the company took on the familiar name.
It was Alfa Romeo development driver Enzo Ferrari who founded his eponymous company in 1929, and it was Alfa Romeo that gave us all-time classics from the 1931 8C to the 1951 Type 159 Alfetta, 1952 Disco Volante, 1963 Giulia Super TI, 1966 Duetto Spider.
you get the point.
After decades of hit-and-miss fare that has seen Alfa Romeo fall miles behind the Germans, Fiat Chrysler, led by polarising chief Sergio Marchionne, has made it a stated mission to return Alfa to its halcyon days as a lusted-after brand making driver-focused luxury cars.
In this way it mirrors British equivalent Jaguar, on its own journey back into the hearts and minds of more than just those rusted-on enthusiasts wearing blinkers rather than glasses.
Much like the Jaguar XE, the Giulia is clearly most of all aimed at BMW, with a dynamic driving experience considered key.
But just as important is glamour and image, and one look at the Giulias understated but classical design and RWD-style proportions is reassuring.
Indeed, the Giulia's chief exterior designer Alessandro Maccolini credits Alfas RWD platform with giving the car important dynamic and athletic proportions and aspects that are clearly an evolution of the 1950s Giulietta Sprint.
Much of the early fuss over the Alfa Romeo Giulia for the 21st century has rightly been made over the 375kW Quadrifoglio range-topper. But its the bread-and-butter volume-sellers that are more integral to the brands rebirth.
By this we refer to variants such as the $65,895 (plus on-road costs) Alfa Giulia Super diesel tested here, plus its $64,195 Super petrol sibling.
For comparison a BMW 320d costs $64,900, meaning the Alfa needs to be objectively as good as the class toppers.
Verdict: the cynic in me half expected Alfa to merely phone-in the base Giulia versions and coast on the badge, while putting all its comparatively meagre resources into the flagship. But thank the heavens, it hasnt.
Diesel is increasingly on the nose among passenger car buyers, but theres still a market for it, particularly those that travel long distances with regularity, or perhaps call a regional centre home.
Under the Giulia Super diesels bonnet is a new Euro 6-compliant 2. 2-litre turbo making 132kW of power and a healthy 450Nm of torque from 1750rpm, and which uses a claimed 4. 2L/100km (our 600km test yielded a more realistic 5. 9L/100km).
Interestingly this diesel unit is said to be the lightest in its class – lighter even than JLRs new Ingenium diesel – at only 148kg.
Drive is sent to the rear wheels from an eight-speed automatic gearbox made by German company ZF (which also supplies BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and many others) via a driveshaft made of carbon-fibre.
Alfa claims itll dash to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds, which squares well with our 7.4sec crack on the first go.
In typical diesel fashion it offers a muscular surge from about 2000rpm onwards to the 4500rpm redline, while in its element cruising at 110km/h at 1400rpm (barely above idle).
The diesel is an exceptional choice for anyone who does a lot of miles, given the economy gains.
However it cannot hope to be as refined around town as the petrol, where its a little rattly, while start-up from the idle-stop system is on the jittery side.
Vibrations and noise are well suppressed once youre rolling however, while the DNA driving mode system gives you three modes to mess with, the D-for-Dynamic mode sharpening the throttle response and instructing the 8AT to hold lower gears longer.
The gearbox is generally pretty well behaved, and the huge metal paddles attached to the steering column rather than the wheel are an absolute delight. Youll drive around in manual mode just for the hell of it.
That is a good thing, given the dynamic alacrity the Giulia demonstrates. This is one well-sorted chassis, balanced and rigid, giving the car superb turn-in and body control. Alfa romantically calls the platform Giorgio, and its 50/50 weight distribution is self-evident.
The suspension comprises a double-wishbone setup at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, both using extensive aluminium and composite materials to keep the tare mass to a light-ish 1410kg.
Its ride is firm, a necessary trade-off for the excellent body control through corners.
While never uncomfortable, the car in Super spec has a tendency to crash over sharp inputs such as cobbles more than the $6000 more expensive, faster and better-specified Veloce.
This is because the higher-grade 206kW petrol Veloce ($71,895) gets BMW-matching adjustable active dampers paired to the DNA dial, which work thanks to a solenoid valve that modifies the hydraulic flow inside the shock.
Theres also the fact the Giulia Super rides on 18-inch alloys shod with Pirelli Cinturato run-flat tyres, stiff in the sidewall.
The motor-driven electric power steering, which you operate via a simply gorgeous thin-rimmed steering wheel with ample rake and reach adjustability, has various resistance levels (again controlled by the DNA dial) and an extremely direct ratio of 11. 8:1.
Indeed, much liker the Jaguar XE, youll need to tone down your steering inputs at times on account of this extreme directness and sharpness from centre.
Whatd take it from good to great is a tiny but more feedback (and the Quadrifoglios four-wheel active torque vectoring).
As with the exterior design, the Giulias cabin is sensational to behold, snug and driver-focused like a sports car, with a low-slung seating position, round dials and – the coolest touch – a starter button on the steering wheel.
The Super also comes with an appropriate level of standard equipment: proximity key, heated leather seats and steering wheel, digital display, rain-sensing wipers, dusk-sensing headlights (bi-xenons rather than LEDs though), satellite-navigation, DAB+, and front/rear USB inputs.
Theres also an 8.8-inch horizontal screen controlled by a BMW iDrive-style rotary dial that has a much easier interface to navigate than were used to from Alfa. Wed like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, though.
Theres also a heap of modern safety tech beyond the eight airbags and five-star Euro NCAP rating, including adaptive cruise control, AEB, audible lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, all-round sensors and a tyre-pressure monitor.
Alfa has kept the options list to a relative minimum. Theres a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system ($1400), a sunroof ($2200), and the Veloce Pack that adds that sportier cars styling elements including 19s, and the much-needed active suspension, for $3000. Tempting.
The material quality inside is more of a mixed bag – better than the Jag, but below the Germans and Lexus.
The leather and wood highlights are great, ditto the paddles, but some of the switches and dials, plus the gear shifter, all feel a little below-par to the tactile-minded.
On the plus side you can choose from a plethora of seat leather colours (black, beige, tan or red) and various types of wood on the veneers.
Outside you can also choose between 13 paint colours: some free, some $1300 and some $3500 (Trofeo White and Competizione Red).
As with most rivals, the 4683mm long Giulia is tight in the back, though the seats are comfy, there are rear vents, top-tether and ISOFIX anchors, a rear USB input and a 60:40 seat-folding mechanism to expand on the average-for-the-class 480-litre boot.
Alfa Romeo has also made some steps in addressing its ownership experience here. You get a three-year/100,000km warranty with roadside assistance – about average – but advertised servicing prices and great 20,000km annual service intervals (15,000km for the petrol).
Alfas Australian site advertises service prices at $395 for year one, $695 for year two and $1095 for year three. First three years = $2185.
By comparison a Jaguar XE 20d with massive and ambitious 34,000km/two-year intervals has a three-year plan costing $1100.
It should be clear after this review that Alfa Romeo has done a sensational job with the Giulia – though the Veloce would be our choice – and it bodes well for the companys future, which it has confirmed, includes eight new models by 2020.
The first of these beyond the Giulia is the Stelvio crossover to rival the Jaguar F-pace due in early 2018, plus two other SUVs, a large luxury sedan, a new premium hatchback and two specialty sports models.
Finally the future looks bright for this Italian icon. The Giulia is a legitimate rival for the 3 Series, C-Class and XE that competes on merit rather than badge.
