Youtube daily have Jun 14 2017

some of y'all will start up brutal with your questions I know I said hit me with

them but Dan did y'all have to run me over with an 18-wheeler truck slap on

your listening ears kiddies we're about to get serious in this piece

now for anyone new here hi I'm TVC of cinema's an African youtuber who made

the mistake of asking free thinking Americans and foreigners as a faith

endowed Muslim hard-hitting question huh that was a lot for I thought y'all asked

me stuff like why we pray 5 times a day or why we perform ablution with water

but oh my god some of the questions I got actually made me recluse myself like

come on anyway I have to give a shout-out to Who I am it who basically

went through and answered nearly all the questions asked of me at first I thought

it annoying then what kind of nice having someone eager and willing to

answer them because it's such a Muslim thing to do we hate living people in

ignorance we love to explain the hows and whys so I'll try and first answer

questions who died didn't get to and then I'll chime in my two cents on

questions he did answer and lastly other than something that really really made

me uncomfortable reading it was not easy first question what is your favorite

holiday and why now you think I'd instantly say Ramadan but know my fellow

holiday used to be Christmas I loved it so much as a kid and despite not

celebrating it I looked forward to it every year but I use the term loved

because I'm actively trying to mix a lot my favorite it comes twice a year and

it's basically the Christmas and Easter of Islam all right not I think about it

our religions are a little too similar so basically the Ramadan is like the

Islamic version of Lent right if so what aisle public goes for Ramadan because

doing no harm and fasting I would like to know more well I had a close friend a

roommate who was a Catholic she explained meant to me was sort of like

abstaining from doing what she loves to do so yeah I think the two things are

very similar my goal for Ramadan is to spread Islamic

awareness as evidenced by this video not to curse and that's about it really

wow you said before you're often mistaken as not maudlin because you

don't wear a hijab could you go into detail or more of the religious

significance your garden this well I'm only mistaken as not Muslim on YouTube

because my avatar cover up much air unless you can pretty

much sum up a Muslim because my hair is covered up sixty to eighty percent of

the time depending on my hairstyle where people also tend to get confused all the

same because the claim that not only don't I have the facial features of a

typical Muslim woman but I don't exhibit the same attribute and personality types

basically they're trying to say I'm different they're live is significant

for a lot of people is that if oh one covers her hair she's protecting her

integrity I guess it's like she's keeping herself special for her husband

now that the wait times have changed a lot of people take the covering of her

aspect to a whole nother level now I am no scholar but I know for a

fact that the women who cover their hair tend to commit more sins and a costly

than those that don't but because they cover their hair

studied in them innocent and unquestionable Muslim men need to get it

through their thick skulls that just because a woman looks like this on the

outside doesn't innocent heart that grows underneath I need to move on from

this topic before I get triggered it has some sort of written reason comes in

simulations Bible for wifey mode actually the way they are and I thought

that modern taking maudlin regions of the world where not very present there

is that outside of those regions is it reason you the avatar because of your

beliefs thanks for being awesome you are awesome too

now first off let me answer your first question no there is no valid reason for

Muslim females which way the way they are I'll talk more about that in a

minute to your second question Muslim regions

as you say are very well advanced trust me on this one

and yes and know where I live kind actually has an equal number of

Muslims and Christians but all the people can live in it as a Muslim region

but I don't know it depends on your perspective and lastly to your final

question no I use my avatar because I love the concept because I first started

seeing people like I hez was rock and pie guy rules using my beliefs have zero

influence on my avatar and you can tell and my place of the Union also doesn't

have any impact to it so to answer your underlying question that you're probably

too nice to ask no I don't live where women are stoned to death or my brother

will mercy kill me because I have a blog now to your question of how our women

are being treated I just left or record and stick a lot of Muslim men

nowadays love youth Islam as a way to justify their actions they try to use

different methods - for whatever agenda we have and say well it was written as a

way to validate the horrific behavior and when you try to question it big

twist everything and make it seem like you're questioning allows himself this

is how they control and treat women the way they do they make them they make

them believe you got what they do is right because God willed it which he

didn't and if the question is they are questioning God which makes the woman

the bad guy in the situation man I am really and triggered here I have a few

questions there's a lot about Islam I'd like to know more especially with the

politics around it the first question I knew you don't like to discuss where you

are from but do you live in an Islamic nation only because there's a lot about

their system of government and the wig into intertwined with the justice system

no I don't believe my country identifies itself as an Islamic nation like I said

you've got a lot of Christians - it's not like I don't like to discuss where

I'm from because I'm afraid or anything I actually really much want to share

with you all where I'm from how things are done here

but I've held back as an incentive for myself and you guys when I hit 100k

subscribers it's kind of like my main town goal at the moment after that -

will is get a million subs or be featured in a finebros real actual

whichever comes first you move you come to Africa we accept

any religion Christian movement Buddhism Taoism Crone no go to ventures landless

tap to tan can any leader we accept in our stock Afghan Empire as long as a

communist government oh why did I just read it sir

your Arabic well that explains how you talk um do you mean Arabian because I

pick the language NARAS I know I'm not Arabian I'm African if you don't mind

this question what is your opinion on the israeli-palestinian concept a person

believed that both Israeli and Palestinian serve to be their own

separate research countries oh maybe I'm just biased in some way since I'm Jewish

not gonna lie to you I have no idea I didn't even know the whole Israeli

Palestine thing till I watched now who do history

of everything I had no idea what was going on in that portion of the world

and yeah a Jewish person I think that the first Jewish person I've ever met

but yeah I'm going to have to research on this and get back to you so ask me

this question again and I'll try and have a more cohesive answer also have a

good Ramadan I like you even more knowing that you are so open wide

religious beliefs even when they ask some terrible people out there who hate

people he based on the religious belief thank you I thought your Mexican girl

you confusing I think holders answer here was perfect Islam is religion Aires

but yeah like I said Africa is it hard too fast all day for a month I myself am

high school going glycemic oh boy I hope I pronounced that right but it's kind of

hard to fast even when I want to also is it appropriate for me to meet someone

happy Ramadan yes it is very very hard but we get used to it and I call it self

we women get these of course we can't fashion one hour period but depending on

how long your period lasts you're free from fasting and you get to repeat these

you miss whenever you can for the rest of the year before the next Ramadan

comes on I will be honest with you I kind of work to my next period right now

what program do you use for your videos wrong video to access the Camtasia

Studio eek I think it's cool that she's moved on

and she's celebrating this holiday yeah but I don't think she can make it

without cursing I mean the world's already crazy now that we've got mad man

in office shut up people we're not supposed to talk about politics also was

supposed to show support I'm just saying a guy cursed me the

other day and I ended up having to bang it people that was funny I enjoyed

reason that it's really enjoyed reason that

what does Ramadan mean well Boozer my dad is a men's month of the Muslim year

during which strict fasting is observed from dawn to sunset hope the helps we

just a new study in Islam in school oh man it wasn't so cool you got a teacher

to play this in class anyone else you please try and see become make this a

reality for me so for fasting is it just for dinner

why do you refrain from eating and drinking I think I answered it in a

previous question but no after brick afar

most people just reschedule the three daily news tonight time you break your

fast at sunset which is 7 p.m. my time and sometimes people eat around 8 p.m.

or 9 p.m. like you know lunch dinner so if I'm not

passed out by then I tend to do the same and I wake up by 3:00 a.m. to do Soho

which is like the pre eating before the next class starts at 5 a.m. so I have a

little food and energy carry me for the day long story short I'm really sleepy

these days Patrick this man is part of Ramadan are you trolling me the modern

living God or something else Allah is the one true God so yeah we believe in

God one God like the Christians and Jews I got a question it's very silly being

apparently no but some people say viruses today our thought has been in a

great area between living and non-living so who knew when I applied you kinda I

was actually right okay now I'm gonna address something that happened in the

rubber end of the video the question was asked by shank X except I was eager to

answer these questions and would have brought up some great points to it but

the reply link turned into something horrifying

now I'm not mad at shank or anything but I'm just shocked some of the things he

said made me add and sadness wasn't so much at what he said but at the facts he

brought up then the chain of replies those became worse and I could not

believe anyone could say stuff like that or think like that he had me so confused

and sick to my stomach to believe my religion was viewed this

way it made no sense what I was a true champion to keep his cool but I wouldn't

know what I would have done if it was me in that situation I know so many people

personally would have freaked the hell out if they were there if there was

won't be an access question because where I'm from they're just something

you don't take to whatever religion is just the rule we may have our own

thoughts towards Christians and they to us but you keep them to yourself or ask

them in a way that doesn't greatly offend other party there are things that

are said and ways that they're being said to other religions to respect them

in a way that does how me and my friend used to

do it and we learned a lot from each other religions granted we may not have

agreed with them but we respected their choices and we understood their mindset

and how things worked for them now now I am confronted by this chain this link of

replies this back and forth conversation that made me realize maybe people think

differently than the people on my corner of the globe

nobody in this chain was wrong nobody is at fault but it still doesn't change the

fact that I was hurt and offended at some of the mindset presented behind it

I went and showed some of my other Muslim friends and one of them got

really angry and I don't I don't know you guys now I believe compared to most

Muslims I can take a joke and not everything gets to me but I finally

understand why some Muslims get sensitive and oftentimes angry we don't

know how to handle questions asked of us that defies our very faiths and beliefs

and makes us feel like we're being attacked personally this whole thing

made me question if I'm suitable for the job of answering questions in the first

place now that's not the reason why for the past through Fridays I have an

answer in EQ eni's I does become overworked with fasting and everything

so I couldn't get it out but no God and it is hard because I know some of you

may not like me for what I've just said because I finally understand I think in

a way how Americans think and work how foreigners think and work because you

guys are just so free and honest and free speech and all that but it's really

different here and it's boggles my mind and it's something I have to adjust to I

don't want to come off as a sensitive person or somebody that's okay watch how

you speak to me because I want everyone to speak how they're comfortable with

but I just didn't know how to deal handle this thing but I'd like to make

it crystal clear that I knew we believed shank X is wrong or bad here not even to

Jordan Ackerman cool name by the way no one is

and with that answer shanks question oh yeah I got a lot of questions even

though I know the answers for them but I want your opinion on it I will just do

three this time and each round I'll make them harder and more

complicated as we go along yay I am also an atheist and I have done a good amount

of research but correct me if I am wrong one how do you feel about women's right

in many Muslim dominated countries - how do you feel about Sharia law like hand

cut off for stealing and stoning for adultery three I last what do you think

about ACS being punished in Muslim countries at worst death PS you have any

questions for me about ATS and don't hesitate I would love to answer the

questions like you answered mine well for starters I've always never

understood the concept of atheism even if you personally don't believe in

anything wouldn't it be better to just pick to a religion just to make sure but

let's get serious but anyway one I feel women are horribly horribly horribly

treated in Muslim dominated countries not only is basic human rights stripped

from them the absent I brain wash to believe it's for their own good now

thankfully there are some places that don't function like this but the places

that do get all the attention like it's happening to me how if two people are

caught fornicating is the woman that gets be in a spoon and whipped the men

have taken themselves and truly believe they are better than us

I will admit women our men are not equal yes but they're not better than us Allah

Himself says men should cherish the women around them their mothers their

sisters and daughters even our prophet has tried to beat it into men's head

that they cannot live without women and they should really cherish us because we

try so hard Islam even preaches that we asked

children to value our mothers more than our fathers that vary greatly to heaven

for us is under our mother's feet it's kind of like a metaphor saying that if

you don't treat your mom right you can and will go to hell but you won't find

those things anywhere except literally translated for you from Koran to English

but when people are preaching it out to be twisted and make you seem

father the man with this with that and you just we women I don't brushed off to

the side and we kind of blame our religion we can only blame the blockhead

men who are gas to deaf another tricky thing apart from Saudi Arabia and even

then that's only in Mecca itself I've never seen someone's hand cut off the

vast majority of the world doesn't do that anymore and the ones that do well I

came to a theory about this when I asked around it was confirmed to be sort of

true the reason why cutting your hand off for stealing was introducers because

way back when thieves were rampant and was introduced as a way to scare people

into not doing it also back then people only had goals or calm over stuff like

that when things were stolen from you those were your whole life's work and

valuables thieves will literally be able to make you bankrupt helpless and leave

you in abject poverty once they stole from you so something like that wasn't

even barbaric but merciful by the time so instead of just killing you we cut

off your hands or hanging you like slicing your throat or whatever we'll

cut off your hands and take away the instrument with which you cause

destruction mind you it was you still once we cut off your right hand twice

left hand three-four right leg left leg you do a first time and we'll just love

your head off but in this day and age is so much more

to do phones pencils food bags shoes clothes little but literally

insignificant things that don't warrant a decapitation three I've never heard of

things like this happening ever like never closest thing I've heard was

when I was a kid back in primary school I was told that if Christians come very

away from their religion they would be burnt alive and if Muslim changed face

the community around him should go and talk to that person and try to convince

them to change back to Islam I wasn't clear what they would do if they

couldn't convince you to come back either leave you alone or stone you to

death I don't freaking know but I know a lot of people who've converted from

Islam to Christianity and nothing happened to them yes the Muslim men are

on them talk to them they were men who converted but once

this was they were adamant in their choices they left them alone

I remember having a close friend who was a Muslim on the outside but a Christian

at heart her dad was Muslim and I'm almost

Christian and a whole family had Muslim names and dressed as such but some of

the kids despite being Muslims on the outside at

heart they were Christians and had Christian tendencies when I say I don't

really know the word to use here and this happens a lot where I'm from the

kid chooses which religion they want and their parents still love them regardless

mind you it was one of the two religions the parent said Muslim or Christian we'd

really didn't have you don't have Jews or ACS or anything like that over here

even another example one of my closest friends was studying in Canada right now

has a Muslim dad and a Christian woman all the kids are Christian my neighbors

are also in the same boat all these places I'm sorry to say just have

barbaric tendencies and cultures and mark them with the guides of Islam and

the world just has to accept it but on a closing statement people need to know

the difference between someone's culture and their religion trust me Islam

practiced in Africa is rolled apart different from those practiced in the

Middle East regardless of the fact if that country has extremists or not other

things people do is just their culture seeping into the religion of the people

thinking Islam treat women badly no it's just the people's god-awful cultures

that have the best centuries with the modern era and have convinced themselves

it's a part of the religion no it is not stop brainwashing women stop belittling

us suppressing the truth and facts to suit and uplift yourself and for your

own selfish agendas we may not be equal but we are better ask any other

questions for next week's video this is an angry TV see signing out

Pissed Off Newt Tells Congress Why They Have To Abolish Special Counsel Details - Duration: 12:11.

Pissed-Off Newt Tells Congress Why They Have To Abolish Special Counsel [Details]

Republican President Donald Trump threw off gullible Democrats by indicating that he was

considering dismissing special counsel Robert Mueller, who is now leading the investigation

into the manufactured scandal regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Democrats were outraged that Trump may seek to fire Mueller, but former Speaker of the

House Newt Gingrich explained to Congress why it is imperative that Mueller is let go.

Stated Newt to talk radio host John Catsimatidis, saying how Comey's testimony will get in

the way of a fair investigative process, "It's very clear that Comey hates Trump.

Comey is clearly extraordinarily hostile to Trump."

He added, "I think Congress should now intervene, and they should abolish the independent counsel

because Comey makes so clear that it's the poison fruit of a deliberate manipulation

by the FBI director leaking to The New York Times, deliberately set up this particular

situation.

It's very sick."

Newt reiterated his call for Congress to dismiss Mueller on a Fox News Sunday appearance, saying,

"I think this — this is going to be a witch hunt.

I think that Comey himself, by his own testimony, tainted this particular process.

You have a director of the FBI deliberately leaking in order to create a special counsel,

who we're now supposed to believe is going to be this neutral figure.

I think that's just nonsense.

Do you agree with Gingrich?

Go in here and see..

I'm going right over there.

This is a food mart/gas station on Ohio State's campus.

It's kind of nippy out here today.

Yes indeed!

((Phone)) Yeah, strange. Very strange. Yep.

((Phone)) I don't know why it's like that sometimes.Uh huh. I don't know.

I'm gonna get some flaming hots.Yep.

((Phone)) About 10 or 15 minutes or something like that.

Hi.

((Phone)) Yea, give me 10 or 15 minutes. I'm getting a few bags of chips.Huh?Nah, just two. OK.

How much?

$2.18. OK. Swipe your card here. You want credit or debit?

Credit.

Slow today?

Yea.

They have something going on today.

Oh yea?

Where's my buddy? I had a friend, but he probably doesn't work here anymore.

Guy from Senegal.

From where?

He was from Senegal. African guy.

Dunno..

That was like 5 months ago..

Yea, he was from Senegal, when I came in here at that time, but that was a long time ago.

It's not 5 months. It's more than that..

Oh, probably. It's been a while.

Where're you guys from?

Me?

Yea.

I'm from Morrocco.

Morrocco?

And you?

I'm from Jordan

((Arabic)) How are you?

((Arabic)) I'm good, thanks to god.

((Arabic)) But I think my Arabic is strange..

I don't know, it's been a while.

What do you want to say?

3jib is like ''Strange'' isn't it?

((Arabic))What's your name?

Itha

((Arabic)) My name is Moses. Nice to meet you.

((Arabic))Because,I have many books and I have a friend that speaks Arabic also..so...

((Arabic)) So I speak it a bit.

((Arabic)) A little bit, eh

((Arabic)) Yep

We speak a dialect, but you speak Fusha.

((Arabic)) Why?

That's the problem now.

If you go to Egypt, when you come back, they'll stop you at the customs and ask a lot of questions.

That's what they're doing with everyone now.

What is it?

I have a gas card from CFN. I'm going to my dad's funeral. And I need to use my gas card.

Thank you, sir. I'm in the truck out there.

He gave you ten dollars. You can go and pump it.

Holy crap!

Thanks!

Your welcome.

He's driving and he's drinking.

Yea

He can't even drive because he's drunk.

Yea, I smell it.

See, if the police stops him, he'll be in trouble.

Yea

I've never heard of these names he was saying.

((French)) I don't now either.

((French)) He's drunk.

((French)) He drank a lot.

((French)) What is this?

He drank too much.

Oh

((French)) I don't like to drink. I don't do that.

((French)) It's not good.

((French)) It's not good for your health nor your pockets.

You know what I mean?

It's not good for your health nor your pockets.

((Arabic)) It's not good for your health nor your pockets.

In Arabic.

((French)) Many languages.

((French)) I like to study many languages. French, Arabic,Chinese, Japanese, etc..

Spanish?

((French)) I speak that too.

((Spanish)) You speak Spanish, too?

((Spanish)) I speak Spanish, too.You speak Spanish, too?

((Spanish)) Yes, of course.

((Spanish)) Of course.

Spanish is our third language back in Morocco.

((French)) Oh, really?

We got French, Arabic and Spanish.

((Spanish)) Then we can speak in Spanish now.

You speak German too?

((German)) Just a little bit. I speak a bit of German, but now my German is really bad ((French/Spanish))

((Spanish)) Because I don't study it much these days.

Oh

((Spanish)) I'm studying other languages such as, Japanese, Chinese..etc..

What about Italian?

((Spanish)) I was studying Italian a long time ago, too, but as this city has many people that

((Spanish)) speak Spanish, I've made an effort to learn more Spanish.

((Spanish))It's very important in this city, right?

((French)) That's good.

((Spanish)) Very very important.

((Spanish)) Very important.

((Spanish)) Yes.

((Spanish)) But a long time ago,I didn't like it that much.

((Spanish)) Because to me the most interesting are Asian languages.

Oh,ok.

((Spanish)) But it's important to study more Spanish...so...

((Spanish)) Wow, I didn't know that they spoke Spanish in Morocco as well. I didn't know that.

Yep.

In Morocco..

((Spanish)) I want you to speak in Spanish right now. Don't speak English.

((Spanish)) In my country we study Arabic and French in primary school.

((Spanish)) However, in secondary school, we have other languages. There's, if you want, Spanish..

((Spanish)) English, German and Italian..

Oh

((Spanish)) Well then..

((Spanish)) Then there are more languages in the university.

((Spanish)) Wow, and can you speak as well?

No, he doesn't speak

((Spanish)) Just English and Arabic

Oh

((Spanish)) I see.

He's from Jordan. I'm from Morocco.

((Spanish)) Oh, I see. He already told me...lol

((Spanish)) That's good.

((Spanish)) Well then, you can teach him Spanish.

((Spanish)) Yea, but not enough time here. Will need the time..

((Spanish)) But he works here with you..

((Spanish)) Yes, but I only work here here 3-4 hours.I work over on Hamilton RD.

((Spanish)) Oh, I see.

((Spanish)) There are many Spanish people over there. Many friends over there.

((Spanish)) Of course. Especially here in the U.S. there are many Mexicans.

((Spanish)) I lived in New York for 17 years?

((Spanish)) That's good.

Yea..

((Spanish)) It's important to practice language as much as possible.

In New York there's a lot of them.Everywhere you go, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Salvadorians,Nicaruaga..all of them..

((Spanish)) The most are Puerto Ricans

Do you know what Boricua means? Puerto Ricans

((Spanish)) I didn't know

Puerto Ricans in Spanishm they call them Boricua.

''Boricua'' ((Spanish)) Thanks a lot.

Yea. Dominicans, they call them Dominicanos.

((Spanish)) Yes, I know that one.

Puerto Rican, you don't say ''I'm Puerto Rican. You say I'm Boricua''

((Spanish)) Boricua. ''I'm Puerto Rican''

Yea

((Spanish)) This is a new word for me. Thanks a lot.

((Spanish)) Actually, I must say that the reason I've come here is to practice langages with you guys.

((Spanish)) A long time ago as I've said,There was a guy from Africa. Moreover, he spoke Wolof, French and other languages so..

((Spanish)) At that time, I practiced a lot with him.

Oh, OK

I was telling him, this is the reason why I've come here. I cam here to practice languages

Where are you from originally?

((Spanish)) I'm American.

Where? I know you're American, but where? Which city/state? Are you from Ohio?

((Spanish)) I've here in Columbus for 10 years already.

((Spanish)) My city is Akron

Oh, you're from Akron, Ohio?

((Spanish)) Yes

Oh, so you're from Ohio State then

((Spanish)) Yes

((Spanish)) So now I live here. I have a family..

((Spanish))Are you studying at the University?

((Spanish)) Not now

oh,OK

((Spanish)) Before...

((Spanish)) That's good.

((Spanish)) I'm already married.

((French)) Married?

((French)) Yes. I'm married already.

((French)) Do you have any children?

Huh?

((French)) Do you have any children?

((French)) Oh of course!Two kids.

((Spanish)) They're twins.

((French)) Two girls. That means girls. You got boys or girls?

((Spanish)) Girls

Girls

((Spanish)) But..

((French)) They're girls?

((Spanish)) Twins

((French)) They're twins

((Spanish)) Jumeaux is twins?

Yes, in French.

It's the same thing it's just the pronunciation. In Spanish they say ''Gemelas''

Because the ''G'' they call it ''kheer'' in Spanish, right? French is ''Jumeaux''

It's just a little different.

If you speak French, it'svery easy to learn Spanish quickly.

((French)) Really?

Because they are the same.

((Spanish)) Almost the same.

Yea, the same. The same words. But it's just mixed.

You know. Spanish words are like French words. In Italian too.

It's the same with a slight difference.

When you speak French, you learn Spanish quickly.

Less than three months, you will fly in Spanish.

((Spanish)) I agree.

Yep.

But if you speak Spanish and want to speak French then it's very hard.

((Spanish)) It's very different

Yea, it's very hard. Especially with the pronunciation. But if you speak French, then you get Spanish quick and easy.

((Spanish)) I see.

That's why,the people in my country that's?? Because they are close to Spain.

All of them since they were young, they speak Spanish.

Then when they go to school they learn Spanish and French.

((Spanish)) I see.

Yea, so that's why in the South, everyone speaks French.

((Spanish)) So you speak German fluently?

((Spanish)) A little bit.

I used to, but I forgot most of it. Because I lived in Germany for two years.

Oh

I used to speak it fluently.I forgot. I didn't practice so I lost it.

I still understand it, anything you say

((German)) Practice, practice..

Yea, and I lost a lot of it.

((Spanish)) As you know, language is a living thing.

Yea

((Spanish)) When you begin learning a language, it's necessary to practice it as much as possible.

((Spanish)) Normally on the weekends,I like to practice like this..

When you speak Spanish, you speak it with Spain.

((Spanish))Castillian Spanish

Because when you go to Spain, when you speak..

((Spanish)) I want you to speak in Spanish

((Spanish)) OK, when you go to Spain, they speak with the Spanish accent?

((Spanish)) This is the first time I've heard this word.

''Spain people''

Do you know what Gayo is in Spanish?

((Spanish)) I don't know. What is it?

It's a rooster. You know rooster?

((Spanish)) Yes

And gayena is a chicken

Oh

the female of the rooster is a chicken, right?

Uh huh

So Spain, we call them gayegos because they talk like a rooster.

When you go to Spain, even if you speak Spanish from here like Mexico or anywhere in South America

they talk very fast. And they use the tongue.

The tongue, yes.

When they talk to you, they talk very fast.

((Spanish)) Very fast.

((Spanish)) I can't understand what they're saying.

Because I've been to Spain many times since it's close to my country.

First time I went there, I went to France because I have brothers and sisters in Europe

And a lot of cousins you know.So I went to France to see my brother and went to Germany. I bought a car from Germany.

It was a Mercedes? They have Mercedes over there for very cheap in Germany.

Oh

I was going to Morrocco, we went to..

((Spanish)) When we were in Luandania?? They were speaking so fast.

((Spanish)) During that time, could you understand what they were saying?

((Spanish)) Yes, now I can. But the first time I went there, it was just too fast. They would ask me...

Oh..

((Spanish)) Since I lived in New York....

Oh

((Spanish)) They would speak to me and then say that they wanted to speak English.

((Spanish)) I told them that I couldn't speak English.

((Arabic)) I understand.

((Arabic)) You understand?

((Spanish)) Even in Spain, if they speak other languages, they don't want to speak them. Just Spanish.

((Spanish)) Why?

Because they say that they like their language.

Ah

They don't care, they say you came to our country so you gotta learn our language.

((Spanish)) That correct. I agree.If...

((Spanish)) I don't want to go to another country if I can't speak the language.

When you go to Spain and you ask them for something, you tell them like..

((Spanish)) Do you speak English?

They'll say, no.

((Spanish)) I don't know, I don't know..

Oh, with an S?

They call it ''no the''

Yea

Oh..

When you talk to them, they don't wantto show you nothing..

They're very racist.

((Spanish)) Racist?

Yea, Spain they like their language. They say, you came to Spain, so you gotta learn our language.

I don't care, you gotta learn our language.

Oh

If you talk to them in their language, Spanish, then they will be very happy.

Especially when you're a foreigner and you want to go there and talk to them they'll show you whatever you want.

but if you don't speak Spanish then they won't..

((Spanish)) But I think that it should be like this, no?

((Spanish)) Well, no, but you gotta help the people, no?

You gotta help people. If you go their as a tourist, you gotta help them

Oh, I see.

They say no, they don't care.

((Spanish)) ''It's not my problema if you can't speak Spanish''

and if you don't speak Spanish, anywhere you go, restaurant, hotel, they're thieves.

They'll steal money from you. They're not honest.

If they know you don't know the language and the money, they'll rip you off.

((Spanish)) That's a problem

Yea

((Spanish)) Theives

((Spanish) Well then, I still have plans to go to other places to practice languages

OK

((Spanish)) Now I'm going to a Mexican restaurant.

When Mexicans talk to you, they call you guey. Do you know what a guey is?

((Spanish)) What's up,man ''Bull''

Oh yea! I know.

You know what guey is?

((Spanish)) I know.

What is it?

It's like ''Dude'' or ''Man''

Yea, but what is it? What does it mean?

((Spanish)) It's like, man?

No..

Like when you go to New York, they say ''What's up, dog?''

Oh

Now dog is a dog, it's an animal. What is guey? It's an animal.

Guey is....Which animal is it?

You know what ''la baka'' is?

Oh, baka is like a sheep or goat?

Baka is a cow

a cow, yea

now, what's the male of the cow?

the male of the cow is a guey

They say,''what's up, bull?''

like Chicago bulls?

((Spanish)) Yea, I know

The bull is a guey. Like in New York how they say ''What's up, dogg?'' They call each other ''guey''

((Spanish)) What's up, bull?

((Spanish)) How do you say that in Arabic?

Oh now, we don't have that in Arabic.

Like when you go to New York, they call you ''What up, dog?''

You can't say to people in Arabic''What's up, Dog''

((Arabic)) Isn't it?

Like if you go up to a girl and say ''What's up, bitch'' you can't do that.

((Arabic)) Bitch?

You can't do that in Arabic language.

You can't call somebody a dog.

((Arabic)) Is she Arab?

You can't say ''what up, dog'' to someone in Arabic.

((Spanish)) Alrighty, I'm going to leave now. Nice to meet you.

OK, when you go over to the Mexican restaurant say to them ''What's up, bull?''

((Spanish)) What's up, bull? OK, take care.

((Spanish)) OK, see you again.

((Arabic)) See you later.

((Arabic)) See you later.

((PHONE)) Yea, I don't know. It's like a different place.

Hi

Hello.

Hi.

I just saw this place and thought it was interesting. I saw the Korean.

Yea.

So you guys sell antiques?

Umhm. I'm Korean.

((Korean)) Are you well today?

((Korean)) Oh, no no no...it's good.

((Korean)) Thanks.

((Korean)) Your pronunciation is good.

((Korean)) Oh really?

Yea

((Korean)) You speak with politeness

((Korean)) Politeness?

Yea

((Korean)) It's better to learn the polite language

((Korean)) Yes

((Korean)) Well, right now I can't use the impolite talk.

((Korean)) That's right. You use that with your friends.

((Korean)) Yes, yes..

((Korean)) I can use less polite talk with someone who's younger than I. You understand what I mean?

I can use that speech with someone younger than me.

((Korean)) Yes, I understand.

I'm older than you, therefore you would use more polite speech.

((Korean))Yes. Great job!

((Korean)) Where did you learn from?

((Korean)) I'm self-taught.

((Korean)) Self-taught? Oh, good good!Where did you learn from? Youtube or?

((Korean)) I have many books at home and I can also use the computer.

oh. Good job.

((Korean)) Very good.

There's a Korean class at the Korean church every Saturday.

((Korean)) I see. Before a friend of mine told me that there's a Church

Every Saturday there's a Korean class. At the biggest Korean Church, there's a very good Korean class.

So you can go. They're not charging.

((Korean)) Oh really?

It's free

((Korean)) It's free?

((Korean)) Yes, it's free.

((Korean)) I don't have that much time now so I can't learn Korean in that way.

((Korean)) Good

((Korean)) So I will continue like this.

((Korean)) Right, there're so many Korean stores

((Korean)) I see

There's Mina restaurant over there, then the Bamboo cafe. Their owner is Korean, too.

And over there the bakery, next door to the Microcenter, there's a Korean place

((Korean)) Oh yes, I've been there before with my wife.

((Korean)) The owner there is Korean

((Korean)) I see. I've been there in the past.

((Korean)) Well, a long time ago I went there with my wife.

((Korean)) Oh, you know Cheepsaram ''Wife'' as well? Too good...good job.

((Korean)) You're being too nice.

((Korean)) No..

My kids were born here. You speak better than them.

((Korean)) Really? You must be joking..

((Korean)) No, I'm not.

((Korean)) They didn't learn Korean..

When they went to College they learned because at that time, they knew that I'm Korean.

But now they think they're Americans. They only speak English. You are very good.

((Korean)) They can't speak anything outside of English?

((Korean)) Just English...They speak Korean, too, but....

They speak Korean too, but, you're better than them

((Korean)) You must be kidding..

((Korean)) Now, I'm not.

You're doing a good job.

((Korean)) It's just because I think it would be great if I could speak like the Koreans.

((Korean)) I want to speak like a Korean, so lately I've been working on it deligintly.

OK, good job. If you want, are you going to Church?

((Korean)) No, but a long time ago when I was still a young child, I always went to church.

If you want to go to the Korean Church, you can so that you can make a lot of Korean friends there.

((Korean)) OK. Which Church?

Snow Polaris

((Korean)) I haven't heard of it before.

((Korean)) You haven't heard of it before?

Oh here, I'm going to give it to you.

((Korean)) OK.

There's a lot of Americans there, too.

Oh

((Korean)) Now I have kids so,I'm always at home.

((Korean)) This place is open everyday?

I just close on Sunday.

Sunday?

10am-7pm and closed on Sundays

((Korean)) Oh, I see

Our Church name, number. Sunday service is 10am.If you want to come, come at 10:30.

there's a lot of Korean people. Maybe around the same age as you. So you can make Korean friends.

((Korean)) I can make many friends?

((Korean)) Yea, it's better to learn Korean when you make Korean friends.

((Korean)) You're going to eat something?

We have a bible group on Sunday. Everyone will eat together

So, she said that I didn't have to bring anything

((Korean)) Eating together?

Yea. So, if you join that Church, they create small groups.

and then you can enjoy Korean food.

wow

((Korean)) Seems interesting

and at the services we give out Korean food there. So everybody eats lunch there

Oh, OK.

((Korean)) Your welcomed to come

((Korean)) Thank you

What's your name?

Moses

Oh, Moses. I'm sorry.

You know, Moses in the Bible.

Oh, yea. Here's my name.

((Korean)) Nice to meet you!

((Korean)) Nice to meet you!

((Korean)) I like studying languages

((Korean)) Yea, that's good.

And I think you have a language talent.

((Korean)) The Korean language is difficult.

((Korean)) Yes, it is.

((Korean)) It is really difficult

((Korean)) I feel the same way.

((Korean)) There are so many things in the language..

((Korean)) Different levels of politeness, etc..

Many words that are similar as well..

and many meanings..

you have talent

((Korean)) But, despite it being that way, if you work hard everyday, you will be successfull.

((Korean)) That's right!So good.

You're speaking so good.

((Korean)) I need more practice.

((Korean)) Your pronunciation is good.

((Korean)) So, which part of Korea are you from?

South Korea

Most of the Koreans living in America, at least 99% are from South Korea.

((Korean)) Seoul or?

I'm from Seoul

Oh

Close to Seoul. Not exactly in Seoul.

Oh, ok

I was working in Seoul

((Korean)) I want to go to Korea in the future.

((Korean)) I've already been to Taiwan and Japan.

((Korean)) Since my wife is from Taiwan, we went there together to see the family.

((Korean)) Well, then..nice to meet you.

((Korean)) Come again..

((Korean)) Perhaps in the future when I want to practice Korean, I'll come here or go to the Church..

((Mandarin)) How many children do you have?

((Mandarin)) Two

((Mandarin)) They're both twins

Oh yea?

((Mandarin)) Do you have any pictures?

((Mandarin))Well, I think I have one in my phone..let me see..

He's looking for a picture

((Mandarin)) My wife always uses this phone to take pictures

((Mandarin)) How old are they?

((Mandarin)) They're 16 months

They're 16 months

Congratulations

((Mandarin)) Thanks

They're cute

Do you speak Mandarin at home?

((Mandarin)) Well, my wife..

Oh, I'm sorry LOL

I speak with them in English, but my wife speaks with them in Cantonese..oh, not Cantonese. Mandarin and Taiwanese

Nice

They're cute

She speaks both.

((Mandarin)) Thanks

They're picking up some other languages too, because they hear..My wife she can speak Japanese fairly well and some Korean so she watches a lot of dramas

like Korean dramas, Japanese dramas...

so yea, there're a lot of languages they're exposed to now

That's good

So..it's very important for them to learn because, like her family? They can't speak English at all

right

the communication is very important so..

have you brought them back to Taiwan yet?

((Mandarin)) Actually, we went back last year in December to see the family

They're identical, right?

Yea, but...

((Mandarin)) I'm with them everytime most of the time so they don't really look that much alike to me

That will be $12.50, please. And he will be out shortly.

Oh, OK

((Vietnamese)) Thanks.

Thank you

((Mandarin)) Yea, I'm with them everyday so they don't look that much alike

I'm with them everyday so they don't look that identical to me

((Vietnamese)) Are you Vietnamese?

((Vietnamese)) Yes, I'm Vietnamese. I'm from Saigon

Born in Saigon

((Vietnamese)) Oh really?

Wow, man you speak with a Southern accent. You must have a girlfriend or something

((Vietnamese)) I'm already married, but my wife is Chinese

((Vietnamese)) Vietnamese?

No

((Vietnamese)) My wife is Chinese

((Vietnamese)) Chinese?

and you speak Vietnamese? Wow

((Vietnamese))Just a little bit though..

You're doing good, but you have a Southern accent

((Vietnamese)) No, Northern accent

((Vietnamese)) Northern accent?

Well, you're doing good!

No, you have a Southern accent

So have you ever lived in Vietnam?

((Vietnamese)) Not yet

((Vietnamese)) Not yet?

Wow, you're doing good for not having lived in Vietnam

((Vietnamese)) I want to go to Vietnam in order to understand this country

Yea!

Yea, you've been to the wrong places, man like Laotian, Cambodian etc ((Restaurants))

Taste the food here and you will see the big difference

I was born in Saigon, but you have to have-??-from the North

((Vietnamese)) You speak any other languages?

I speak with a Northern accent because mom and dad were originally from the North.

My mom's from the South.

Same with her mom. Her grandfather is Northern and her grandmother is Southern

((Vietnamese)) Do you speak Chinese?

No, no

((Vietnamese)) Vietnamese and English...

((Vietnamese)) French

((Vietnamese)) French?

Yea

((French)) French?

I was educated in the French system.

((French)) You speak French, too?

((French)) Why, yes..

Wow

((French)) You speak French?

((French)) Your accent is very good

((French)) Not good yet,but..

((French)) Your accent

Most people speak French with an American accent, but..

((French)) I would like to learn because I love learning languages. I think that languages are very good

((French)) Languages are apart of the culture

When you learn the language and culture, it's beautiful. And the food..beautiful

((French)) Of course

When you go there you say ''Indosheen'' not ''Indoshine'' you know French

If you ask them if they have lamb pho, they'll jump up and down. That's not Vietnamese. That Laotian

They haven't been to Vietnam lately. Vietnam now has a lot of lamb. If you know the history of Vietnam

I came here in 75

((French)) Interesting.

((French)) I want to come here with my wife and kids

((French))You have children? two?

((French)) Two

Very interesting

Yea, we're very different, kind of Vietnamese, you know, so..

You will see. Most Vietnamese restaurants around here are Laotian, Chinese, Korean.

back here is Cambodian so..oh yea..You'll taste a big difference. Taste it then you will see.

((French)) OK

So..what side of town you live on?

Easton

Easton? Yea, you will see the difference. Indochine is not even Vietnamese. The guy is Laotian.

So his food is very sweet, very...you know

((Vietnamese)) Really

Yea, so..we're very different here.

((Vietnamese)) What's your name?

((Vietnamese)) My name is Thang

And yours?

((Vietnamese)) My name is mouse

((Vietnamese)) Mouse?

((Vietnamese)) My nickname..

((Vietnamese)) Nickname?

((French)) Mouse

Oh mouse, yea

((Vietnamese)) Just a nickname

OK, then you must have many Vietnamese friends

((Vietnamese)) No, I don't have many

((Vietnamese)) No friends?

So, where did you learn the language?

((Vietnamese)) I'm learning and home, because I have many books

Oh

Very interesting

((Vietnamese)) I can use the computer...to speak in order to understand about this country

OK

Very interesting. Next is the food. After the language.

((Vietnamese)) Food? ''To eat food''

((Vietnamese)) Food

No Thuc an means food, but Thuc pham means ((French)) ''Food''

I don't make Pho like everybody else

So, you will see

((French)) Nice to meet you!

((French)) Nice to meet you!

((French)) See you again next time..mouse..

Nice to meet you

((Mandarin)) Nice to meet you

Oh she's Chinese. You're from Hong Kong?

No, I was born in Taiwan

Oh, born in Taiwan so she's Taiwanese. So you speak Mandarin, isn't it?

Yea

So you speak Mandarin too?

Oh, very talented. For self-taught, that's very good, man

((French)) Your French is very good. Your accent.

Most Americans, when they speak French..it's...

((French)) Very bad?

((French)) Very bad

So, your accent is OK. The first thing you want to find out is the accent.

The rest you don't expect much because..that's a foreign language

Accent is very important, especially French, man

He's funny lol

When you go to France,Paris, when you speak French to them, they don't want to talk to you if you have an accent

The French, they're very very....

So, you're not interested in Chinese?

Oh yea, I'm interested. It's finding the time

The time

I'll get there eventually

You know, you should try..I don't know if you've heard of it or not..

have you ever heard of Chinesepod?

No

It's really..If you go to Chinesepod.com, they have a lot of good content that you can use

Like, I'll show you, for example...

this is just MP3

See they have the uh..

English and the Chinese

This is more advance, but they have the beginner stuff as well for you

That's cool. Yea, I'll check that out

and it's easy because, if you're busy, all you would need to do is listen to it and you'll pick it up quickly

and then she can speak some to you..

that would be good. I would like that because her parents speak some English, but..

Yea, I know...

have you been over there?

Yea, I've been over there twice ''Actually three times''

It's fun isn't it

Yea, I love it there. I can see myself living there

When we go over there, they speak more Taiwanese than Mandarin

Like at home, so when we I first went there, of course they spoke Mandarin with me

but when you're sitting around listening to everyone speak, it's all Taiwanese

right, right

so it's like ooh...

so I started taking Taiwanese more serious. I'm not as good with it as I am with Cantonese or Mandarin

but, I'm picking up a lot

I have some friends who're learning Mandarin, because there's a bible study that they're having

because there're so many Mandarin speaking people in the area

Oh yea So they learn and help out during bible study

yea, most definitely

it's cool

so, like I said, if you're busy, all you would need to do is listen to it..

when you listen to it...it's just like a child

right

when we were children, we just listened to the language, then eventually piece things together

uhhuh

next thing you know, you're putting sentences together than you're like ''wait, how did this happen?''

what's your name?

Dan

Moses. Or my Chinese name is ''Mouse''

well..

Nice to meet you

I'm Helen

Nice to meet you

Nice to meet you. You guys take care.

You have a good one

you too, take care

((Cantonese)) No, I'm just living here and an American who really likes to learn other languages

((Cantonese)) How many languages can you speak?

((Cantonese)) Too many lol.

((Cantonese)) Perhaps around 50..but all of the languages I'm learning...how do you say it..

((Cantonese))Not very fluent

((Cantonese)) Do you know how to speak Mandarin?

((Cantonese)) Yes, I can

((Cantonese)) I can speak both Mandarin and Cantonese

((Cantonese)) In fact, my Mandarin may be better than my Cantonese because I know more words

((Mandarin)) I can also speak Mandarin

((Mandarin)) I can speak it too. There aren't that many restaurants in this city that have many Cantonese speakers

((Mandarin)) That's correct

((Mandarin)) There are very few Cantonese people

((Cantonese)) At that time, we can try this one and maybe some other things..

OK

((Cantonese)) Hello, hello

((Mandarin)) It's a bit of a long story..

You search google?

((Cantonese)) When I start on a language the first thing I do is...

((Cantonese)) The first thing I like to do is buy books, then have to find the people who speak the language.

5 Legendary Humanoids That Might Have Existed in the Past - Duration: 6:07.

Number Five

Anthropophagus

The word anthropophagus means cannibal especialy the ones in legends.

This particular cannibal is most known in English folklore when popularised from the

works of William Shakespeare in Othello and the Merry Wives of Windsor.

But the first known account of these creature was from a Greek historian called Herodotus.

He called them Androphagi.

He described them to be one of the tribes near Scythia (somewhere around the Eurasian

area) and they were cannibals.

This creature is described to have no head but it still has a face.

Rather, if you look behind, the Anthropophagus would look human with an exception of being

headless.

How can they be headless but still have a face you ask?

Well, their face is on their torso.

It is described to have eyes on their shoulders facing forward and mouth on their chest.

They would probably always be shirtless or at least be wearing a very low necked t-shirt.

They are said to be nomads, had their own language and was pretty savage.

They were cannibals and would reuse the bones of their victims into utensils like decorations

and even accesories.

Number Four

Abarimon

The Abarimon were legendary people from the Himalayan mountains.

They are said to be wild men that lived in the mountains, side by side with animals.

Their extra special features are that they could run very fast and their feet were facing

backwards.

Other than that, they pretty much look human.

But because they are wild people, it is said that they didn't wear any clothes.

Except they do wear masks.

The way they wear their masks is a bit different. They wear it on the back of their heads.

This is probably to bluff that they could see behind them as well.

Apparently they only live in a specific area in the Himalayan mountains as that particular

area had a special quality of air.

Breathing the air in the area for too long would cause you to be unable to breathe air

from anywhere else.

That applies to the Abarimon as well.

So they wouldn't be able to leave the area or they would die.

Number Three

Giants

Almost every culture has stories about humanoid creatures that has a massive size and incredible

strength.

Could they have been everywhere?

Is it because of their size that the gestation period is longer, thus the birth rate of them

were very low?

Then maybe they're picky like the panda or their offsprings tend to be of one sex that

its almost impossible to reproduce?

Anyways, as there are many stories of giants in this world, especially around Europe, lets

talk about one that's not from Europe.

Instead, lets talk about an actual skeleton of a giant found in Peru.

The giant is said to be around seven to eight feet tall and it was dated to have came from

around early 1400s to the mid 1500s.

I guess, that's not too weird as there are still people alive today that are around 7

plus feet tall.

Though, it does makes you wonder why finding remnants of mythical beings are almost impossible.

All I could think of is either they have all turned into oil or they just never existed.

Number Two

Ebu Gogo

They are humanoids that came from the Island of Flores in Indonesia.

They are said to be short, approximately 1 metre tall, covered with hair, has a pot belly

and big ears.

They are also said to look more like an ape rather than human but they were known to be

able to repeat some human words.

Of course this is all according to the Island's folklore.

They were said to be wild people with very little human common sense.

They would eat anything they could get and were known to eat defenseless human babies.

According to lore, the people of Flores once offered them food to coexist with the Ebu

Gogo and to stop them from destroying their crops.

But the Ebu Gogo was more harmful than good.

They still destroyed crops, they kidnap babies and they ate anything they could get.

Pretty much dangerous.

So the people of Flores hunted them down until extinction.

It was only until the year 2003 that an anthropologist actually found the remains of a hominoid they

now call Homo Floresiensis in honor of the Flores Island where they found it.

The remains had the same features as the Ebu Gogo known from the lore.

So we could say that its not impossible that they might have actually existed.

Number One

Abatwa

This race of people came from the Zulu mythology.

They are tiny little things as they can ride on top of ants and are able to hide beneath

blades of grass.

Now, don't think that because they are small they are harmless, as their weapons are usually

doused with poison.

Very deadly poison and they would kill if angered.

The Abatwa people are pretty shy apparently but very easily angered.

They are shy enough that they tend to hide when there are people around but once in a

while they might show themselves.

Weird thing is, they are very sensitive about their size.

Easily triggered if I must say.

For example: its the first time you ever saw them and they asked if this is the first time

that you've seen them.

If you answered yes, get ready to be attacked with poisonous arrows.

Because they would think you're mocking their size rather than its actually their fault

for hiding.

Another thing that could get you killed is when you accidentally stepped on one of them.

You know, a life for a life.

How Ingenious Animals Have Engineered Air Conditioning - Duration: 5:09.

This episode is supported by Edx.

Termites, prairie dogs, and people are all great builders, each in their own way.

And we all share one crucial problem.

Put a bunch of us in a closed space, breathing Oxygen in and CO2 out… and it doesn't

end well.

Our tallest skyscrapers and deepest mines are almost completely cut off from outside

air.

To keep those inside from suffocating, human engineers use giant machines to bring in fresh

air and pump stale air out.

Termite mounds have the same problem.

The largest are more than 10 meters high.

On a human scale, that's like a skyscraper three and a half kilometers tall!

Only instead of condos and offices, it holds one big farm.

The termites collect wood, which grows fungus, that the termites eat.

All that fungus and the millions of termites that tend to it create a ton of CO2, which

would suffocate the colony *and* their crops if it builds up.

To keep the air fresh, the whole mound acts like a big lung.

During the day, the sun heats the outer chambers more rapidly than the core, moving air up

the outside and down the middle.

During the night, this current reverses as the outer chambers lose heat to the cool night

air.

The whole time, CO2 and oxygen are exchanged through tiny holes in the outer walls.

What's amazing is this is all constructed without a boss.

No central architect designing the structure.

Just instinct and cooperation lets termites build huge ventilation engines powered by

nothing but daily temperature cycles.

Leafcutter ants farm fungus on massive scales too.

One colony in South America covered nearly 50 square meters and was home to over 8 million

ants!

But unlike those towering termites, the ant labyrinth reached 8 meters underground.

So how do they ventilate their agricultural city?

Before we answer that, I want you to try something.

Take a piece of paper, hold it under your lips, and let the other end curl down.

If you blow only across the top of the paper, what do you think will happen?

The force of the air hitting the paper should push it down, right?

Well watch this.

Here's what's happening: Air is a fluid.

When I force air across the top of the paper, that stream pulls other air along, due to

viscosity, which is like the friction of fluids. This leaves an area of low pressure

behind, and the paper is pulled up to fill it.

This is called the Coandă effect.

What does that have to do with ants?

Check this out.

When a breeze flows over a hill, the air is deflected over the top.

This pulls air along too, just like when I blew over the paper,

drawing air out of the ant hill along the way.

The ants build lower entrances nearby, where air is drawn in to replace it, ventilating

the whole colony with a little breeze.

Prairie dogs get the same effect from their mounds.

Breezes over taller hills draw air through the connected tunnel system, keeping the whole

town breathing fresh.

There's even a tiny shrimp that uses this same system to keep fresh water flowing through

its burrows.

Persian and Egyptian architects have used similar structures to cool buildings for centuries,

but tiny animals beat us to that technology by millions of years

Nature is full of species that build their environment to suit them, countless expert

animal architects.

Sometimes, all you need to solve the most complex engineering problems is the awesome

power of evolution,

…and that's a breath of fresh air.

Stay curious.

Housing for me has always been really interesting

growing up homeless,

in and out of homeless situations.

We slept in my mom's car,

we slept on couches,

We slept on floors, wherever we could.

My mom would rent rooms out of houses from other folks,

and all 3 of her kids,

is something that's been on my mind

I'd say all of my life.

I remember looking at my key

I actually just had my rent raised yesterday,

I luckily am employed

keep my daughter in the same school.

Or what the commute to work would look like.

That stress,

that constant sense of fear and uncertainty

weighs on you a lot,

it weighs on me a lot.

But I try to have hope

because I know how bad it can be

and I've lived through that.

And again at the end of the day I still have that key

to my place,

and it's something that I value everyday.

Foods that have healing powers

Foods that have healing powers Shutterstock Stacey Laura Lloyd @WriterStacey If there were certain foods that could help restore your body and mind, would you eat them? While you wouldnt necessarily think of your shopping list as a prescription, in actuality, many of the foods you consume have the power to improve your overall health and well-being from head to toe.

So the next time you go to the supermarket, be sure to pick up these eight superfoods that do a super job at putting you at the top of your game.

Cranberries Shutterstock   While cranberries are largely known to help prevent UTIs, theyre also packed with antioxidants that can help protect and heal your body from cell damage.

Plus, as noted in Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, cranberries even contain compounds that can help impede the growth and development of certain breast, lung, and colon cancers. Cranberries arent just for Thanksgiving, but its definitely worth being thankful for this fruit.

Avocados Shutterstock Its always a good choice to go green, and eating the green interior of an avocado is no exception.

Avocados are an excellent source of fiber and monounsaturated fatty acids (the good fat!), while also being free of sodium and cholesterol. Plus, theyre full of potassium, which plays a key role in helping lower blood pressure.

In fact, they contain more potassium than a banana. Further, as discussed in the Archives of Medical Research, avocados can help reduce your cholesterol levels and can thereby help reduce your risk of heart disease.

But the healing benefits dont stop there, as avocado oil has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties that can aid in alleviating arthritis pain.

Oatmeal Shutterstock   Long considered a morning staple, oatmeal has countless healing properties that can help transform your body both inside and out.

Oatmeal is full of fiber, helps lower bad cholesterol, and also aids in stabilizing your blood sugar levels. Further, as noted by Tufts University researchers, oats play a key role in preventing cardiovascular disease and have numerous heart-healthy benefits.

But its time to think outside the box of oatmeal and consider applying it to your bodys exterior.

Its been shown that the use of oatmeal on your skin, such as in an oatmeal bath, can help treat certain dermatological conditions, including psoriasis, dermatitis, and rashes.

Greek yogurt Shutterstock Greek yogurt is a popular and easy go-to snack, but its Greek yogurts ability to make it easy for you to go that has increased its appeal over the years.

In terms of its many benefits, Greek yogurt is a great source of calcium and contains nearly double the amount of protein thats found in regular yogurt.

But its healing powers are actually found in its probiotics, the healthy bacteria that are already found in your gut and help to aid digestion.

In fact, this is one of the key reasons that yogurt is often consumed by those battling different intestinal issues, such as Crohns disease or ulcerative colitis.

So if youre regularly dealing with irregularity or if you suffer from constant constipation, adding Greek yogurt to your diet is a step in the right direction.

Spinach Shutterstock   While eating spinach may not help your muscles grow instantaneously like Popeyes did, his increased intake of spinach is definitely worth emulating.

Spinach can make your body strong in a multitude of ways, as its an excellent source of iron, can lower your blood pressure, and can help keep your brain functioning at peak levels.

It also contains different antioxidants that can help protect your eyes against macular degeneration as well as inhibit the growth of certain cancers. Studies have shown that spinach can help maintain a healthy immune system and even aids in healing wounds.

Its also important to give spinach a second look in terms of its many benefits for your appearance, since it can facilitate hair and nail growth.

Olive oil Shutterstock Olive oil has long been praised for its major role in the Mediterranean diet, which is often considered one of the healthiest diets in terms of illness prevention and extended lifespan.

With this in mind, its definitely worth examining this superfood more closely and including it in your cooking routine, as its rich in omega-3s and monounsaturated fatty acids.

Plus, research has shown that the consumption of olive oil can help lower the risk of stroke, high blood pressure, and various heart conditions.

Olive oil also has restorative benefits for your bodys exterior, and applying it topically can help repair skin, especially in terms of healing burns.

It also can be used as a deep conditioner for your hair, so its really up to you if youd rather keep a bottle in the kitchen or in the bathroom.

Kiwis Shutterstock   While they may be small in size, kiwis pack a powerful punch when it comes to their healing characteristics and true value in your diet.

For starters, this fuzzy fruit can help lower your risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease as well as help prevent various cancers.

But the benefits dont stop there, as research has shown that eating kiwis can help improve your quality of sleep by aiding the onset and length.

And if getting your beauty rest isnt a big enough benefit, kiwis also contain anti-inflammatory properties which can help heal your bad skin woes by fighting acne, pimples, and outbreaks.

Dark chocolate Shutterstock Yes, you read that correctly. Dark chocolate has many healthy and healing properties, so its the perfect excuse to give in to your chocolate craving.

To begin with, dark chocolate is full of antioxidants and contains important cell reparative powers.

And while it may surprise you, studies have also shown that dark chocolate can help lower blood pressure, improve blood flow to your heart and brain, and even prevent blood clots.

But not as surprisingly, consuming dark chocolate has also been shown to help boost the serotonin levels in your brain and can help heal a foul mood. Who knew eating dark chocolate could be so sweet?.

fingernails I've done it for what what is it like

forty seven years you know my dad did it I just remember watching him do it and

I've done it ever since you know no matter how much I try to stop it's

a nail biter himself and you know so yeah that's all I have to say right now

but but and the thing is it's like okay but it this is where I met by not

talking about things and that means the people in the narrative of the past are

still in control because I don't talk about things so I'm taking ownership by

talking about things now because you know in the past you'd always have that

ear of well don't say anything because you know you might hurt someone's

feelings that's like what about my feelings what about my feelings all

these years and and you know I mean I and so yeah that's where I'm at I'm

talking about this stuff and I'm not going to self-censorship myself

anymore I'm not going to do it I'm just not I'm tired of it you know so yeah I I

I'm mixed ethnicity I don't know where I come from well I actually come from the

Arsenal told they can have £60million-rated Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette - Duration: 3:18.

Arsenal told they can have £60million-rated Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette

ARSENAL are welcome to Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette – but they will have to part with Olivier Giroud to seal the deal. For Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has laid out his terms for a deal involving £60million-rated Lacazette.

Olivier Giroud…could be used as a makeweight in Alexandre Lacazette deal. Frenchman Lacazette, 26, was lined up to join Atletico Madrid until the Spanish clubs transfer ban got in the way.

Now Arsenal are looking to take full advantage and are thought to have entered into talks with Lyon. According to Le10 Sport, Aulus will sell Lacazette but would ideally like Giroud in part-exchange.

That might cause a problem on Girouds behalf. Playing in France full-time may not exactly be his cup of tea at the moment.

For the centre-forward has turned on French fans who continually criticise him, despite scoring 17 times in his last 21 internationals. Lacazette…Lyon will let him go, but there is a condition.

Giroud may be reluctant to play regularly in front of French crowds.

Olivier Giroud netted a hat-trick against Paraguay recently but still French supporters complain. He said:  "It does get to you after a while, especially because you're doing the job on the field.

Giroud has also been heavily linked with a move to West Ham after he admitted he needs more regular first team football. According to The Gambling Times, the 30-year-old will be allowed to leave the Emirates, despite signing a contract extension in January.

Arsene Wenger is expected to do an overhaul of his squad this summer after he agreed to stay on as Arsenal boss at the end of last season.

Watch Olivier Giroud grab dramatic equaliser and do the best celebration of his career.

Parallel Universe. Have astronomers found evidence of parallel universe?. - Duration: 5:02.

Have astronomers found evidence of parallel universe?.

These past 12 months seem as if we have already slipped into a parallel universe, but Brexit

and Donald Trump are nothing compared to the alternate universes some astronomers are contemplating.

First what is a Parallel Universe.

Some calls it the multiverse.

This idea is not yet confirmed, but it's a cosmos in which there are multiple universes.

And by multiple, I mean an infinite number.

These uncountable kind of world, sit side by side in higher dimensions. But just that

our senses are incapable of perceiving them directly.

Increasingly, astronomers and cosmologists seem to be invoking the multiverse to explain

puzzling observations.

The stakes are high. Each alternate universe carries its own different version of reality.

Infact, I believe there will be a really weird one, in which Donald Trump will be useing

twitter to spread nothing, but amusing cat videos.

This may sound bonker, but the latest piece of evidence which favours a multiverse universe

came from the United Kingdom's Royal Astronomical Society.

They recently published a study on the so-called cold spot. This is a particularly cool

patch of space seen in the radiation produced by the formation of the Universe more than

13 billion years ago.

The cold spot was first glimpsed by NASA's WMAP satellite in 2004, and then confirmed

by ESA's Planck mission in 2013. It is supremely puzzling. Right?.

Most astronomers and cosmologists believe that it is highly unlikely to have been produced

by the birth of the universe.

This is mathematically difficult for the leading theory, of which is called inflation in its

simplest explaination.

This latest study claims to rule out a last-ditch prosaic explanation: that the cold spot is

an optical illusion produced by a lack of intervening galaxies.

One of the study's authors, Professor Tom Shanks told the RAS, We can't entirely

rule out, that the Spot is caused by an unlikely fluctuation, as explained by the standard

theory of the Big Bang.

But if that isn't the answer, then there are more exotic explanations.

Perhaps the most exciting of these, is that the Cold Spot was caused by a collision between

our bubble, and another bubble universe.

If more detailed analysis happens to proves this to be the case, then the Cold Spot might

be taken as the first evidence for the multiverse of our Universe.

But the Irony is that if there is a multiverse, scientists will have to accept that the ultimate

goal of physics to explain why our universe is the way it is.

So, every possible combination of physics is tried out across the multiverse.

Inevitably, there's nothing more than blind luck, at least one will have the conditions

we see around us today. It's just a big old accident, and that hardly seems very satisfying.

Put it this way, a multiverse doesn't sound attractive. It would cut to the very heart

of physics purpose.

Nature, of course, doesn't care about this. Maybe the cosmos really is this way and we

just have to accept it.

Certainly, there are many who are willing to defend the multiverse as a valid direction

for thought.

Comfortingly, if we do live in a multiverse, we can be assured that somewhere out there

is an alternate version of you and me that have already figured all this out. Or maybe,

one where I might be the current presidents of the United States of America.

Maureen Chiquet: How to Have "Courageous Conversations" with Your Team - Duration: 5:12.

Now it might be strange for some of you to start a leadership journey

with a poet. I mean, certainly my team actually thought I was completely

crazy. But if you've ever heard David Wright speak and if you know of his work,

his words have a wisdom and a poignancy, that just cut through all those

executive defenses and enter right into your heart.

So David got up and in this English brogue- he's an Englishman- he

started to weave his poems with stories. Stories from his own life, through a time

he had a terrible argument with his daughter. The time that he lost his very

best friend. And the moment in his life when he decided to leave his corporate

job and go into his calling as a poet. And all that all the while he was

talking about his poems and he framed this with something that he called

"courageous conversations". "Courageous conversations" are the conversations we

are not having. These are the conversations that we're afraid to have.

With the world, with our customers, with our colleagues, with our friends, with

ourselves. And we listened for over two hours and during that time no one moved.

No one got up to get coffee, no one got up to go to the bathroom,

no one got up to have a smoke which in France is unusual, no one made a peep.

And at the break we designed an activity and we asked each leader to

pair up with another leader and to really share the courageous conversations

that they weren't having with their teams back at home.

We created a safe container for this to happen. So of course they were my team

and I didn't have anyone to share with. So I took my little notebook and I sat

in the corner and I wrote down: "here are the courageous conversations I'm not

having with them." But as I looked out I saw how much heart and soul they were

putting into this exercise. And they were really really sharing

things that they had never shared before. And I started feeling really out of

integrity. So at the close of the session, I knew I had no choice.

I got up my legs were shaking and my hands were kind of trembling and I took my

crinkled paper and I admitted to them that I was afraid. That I was worried

that maybe they didn't trust the direction I wanted to go. Maybe they

wished I had more answers that I didn't have. I told them that I needed their help.

I couldn't and shouldn't run this business alone. And then I braced for the

worst. But as I gazed up and I looked out into the audience, I didn't see

disappointment. I saw truly empathetic even tearful stares back at me.

And then the most extraordinary thing happened. Somewhere in the back, a leader

who is particularly skeptical of this work, looked down at his shoes his

hand timidly rose and he said, "I'm an impostor.

I pretend to know things that I don't just to impress my team." And then another

hand went up another leader said: "I don't really listen. I just listen to validate

my point of view." A third leader's hand went up he said, "I am terrified of the

unknown and that's why it takes me so long to make decisions." In retrospect

this whole thing seems a little crazy right? I mean it could have been

completely suicidal for me, not to mention my team who was so honest and

courageous and what they did. But that afternoon changed something.

It changed something in a way that I could never have

predicted. I mean we all just set down our suits of armor, the ones we

carry around as leaders and we started to share in a different way. So all that

burden that complexity that we've been hiding from each other, we can now get

out in the open and from that day forward we could begin to co-create our

future with so much less fear.
