Brian you have been a student of success

I guess for 40 years yes and you've

written that success is predictable

right I know the way you analyze things

that you've got to have a great

explanation for us what do you mean by

success is predictable and if I'm

someone seeking that what are some of

the key things I need to be doing

looking out for whatever well if you go

into the kitchen to cook a dish and the

very first thing you get is a recipe and

you follow the recipe and you work with

the recipe eventually you'll master that

dish once you've mastered it and made a

few a few times you can make the dish

over over again and you'll remember the

recipe you don't have to keep going back

to the recipe book now if somebody says

boy that's really delicious you don't

say well it's a miracle like something

out of food you know you just followed a

proven recipe that had been worked out

by people before you and that's

basically the secret of success if you

want to be successful in starting a

business then you study what people have

learned and everything that people have

learned that written down or shared in

seminars or put onto audio programs is I

learned this from a very wise man named

cop cop Myer who spent more than 50

years studying success and he had

developed more than 1,000 success

principles that he had derived out of

something like 6,000 books and when I

met him I asked him the question you

would ask of all these thousand

principles because I had studied it all

which is the most important principle of

all and he said Brian he said it's

simple he said use proven success

methods he said learn from the experts

he said Brian you'll never live long

enough to learn it all for yourself so

what I find is that successful people

are those who learn from others who've

gone before them unsuccessful people try

to make it all up like a cook going into

the kitchen taking ingredients out of

the cupboards throwing them all in a

bowl and wondering why it doesn't taste

good this is why people sales careers by

80% of sales people are functioning well

below their potential only 20% make all

the money by 20% of businesses in any

industry make all the profits by 20% of

the

professionals in any service make 80% of

the money and so on it's because they

follow proven success principles proven

recipes proven formulas proven

combinations and they just do them over

and over again until they master them

then they can do more and more of them

faster and faster easier and easier at a

higher level of quality and all that

translates into greater results kind of

following up on that obviously what it

says to me if I'm going to get the

recipe for success I'm going to have to

find some people who already have

mastered the recipe so to speak this

morning you talked about getting around

the right people and how important that

was which sounds like kind of the same

thing I find the recipe from the right

people outside of seminars like this

where are some places that if I'm

looking for the right people where can I

find the right people where am I going

to go find them out well there's two or

three parts of that first of all we are

where we are in what we are because of

the choices and decisions that we have

made in the past choices and decisions

with regard to the jobs we take the

people we work with the people we marry

live with socializing with the

investments we've made the uses of our

time and so we are where we and where we

are in what we are because of our

choices and decisions so the starting

point of change in our life is to make

new choices and decisions which requires

that we stop making old choices and

decisions that are not helping us in

other words to get into something new

you've got to get out of something old

to start associating with positive

people you've got to stop associating

with people who are not helping you and

you in many cases people realize they're

going to have to break off old

friendships break out of relationships

I've seen this happen countless of times

quit jobs stop associating with negative

family members who are constantly

critical is you're going to have to

reorient yourself to more positive

people

now the third principle that's so

important is this is that there's a law

of attraction in the universe that says

that you attract into your life people

and circumstances in harmony with your

own thinking so if you start to read

really good material said

and commit to your own personal

development strive to become good at

what you're doing

listen to positive audio programs

associate with positive people like at

this seminar what happens is you set up

a force field of energy that is

invisible but it tracks into your life

people circumstances possibilities

opportunities that would not have been

there in the absence of your own change

thinking so all three conspire stop

making bad decisions start making good

decisions start associating with people

who are encouraged you are in harmony

with what you think and then Trust to

this law of attraction to bring the

right people into your life right I know

you've written about that and the power

of thinking the power of thought I've

begun to make those changes in my life

I'm very serious about I'm very

dedicated by but I'm surrounded by some

unsupportive people that I'm not ready

to end a relationship with maybe a

spouse maybe it's because in the past I

haven't followed through on some of the

things and they think this is just

another one of those things what would

you suggest I do how would I handle how

do I keep that proper balance for

instance in my thinking being positive

and at the same time I'm someone very

close to me that can have a negative

impact what do i do until that person

comes around well there's the natural

tendency when we hear or learn something

great is we want to convince everybody

else of it and you see this people who

quit smoking suddenly want there to be

no smoking in the world people who adopt

a religion or a political philosophy

want everybody to join the next day but

the very best thing as I mentioned

earlier in our seminar is that you must

teach men at the school of example for

they will learn it no other so what you

need to do is be an example and be an

example for an extended period of time

give yourself to three months maybe a

year of being the new person when you go

on a diet don't insist that everybody

else go on a diet the next day actually

go on the diet stay on the diet lose the

weight achieve the level of financial

fitness and attract people so they come

to you and say what is it that you're

doing or what is it that you're reading

or what is it that you have it makes you

different only then when they reach out

do offer to

the flip side of this is that in the

main people don't change you can change

and you'll find it much easier to change

of your with positive people very hard

to change with people who don't want you

to change you want you to be the person

that you were but in the main people

don't change so so sooner or later in

life you're often going to have to make

some hard choices in the short term be

the person as as Gandhi said be the

change you want to see in the world be

the kind of person that you want to see

and if that does not bring people around

then be prepared to go to the next step

be prepared to walk away something

interesting that you've taught on that I

found remarkable was you said that if

you write a goal down increase your

chances of success by a thousand percent

by ten to overwhelming now next to that

when it comes to goal-setting what's the

most important thing I do I've got it

written down

obviously that's got power if it's going

to increase mods a success ten times

what's the next thing the next biggest

thing in that process well there's a

process which has made more people rich

than any other single process of goals

achieving and it's to take your major

goal and structure it as a question if

your goal is to earn $100,000 a year

then you write how can I earn $100,000

in the next 12 months now it's an

open-ended question not how can I earn

it at my job or doing a specific thing

just an open-ended question how can I

earn the amount of money and then you

discipline yourself to write 20 answers

to the question and the 20 answers are

all the different things that you could

think of to earn a hundred thousand

dollars work a longer work harder

upgrade my skills just get a new job

would take a part-time opportunity

whatever it happens to be write down

everything you could think of but force

yourself to write at least 20 questions

or 20 answers to the question the 20

question method called mind storming

forces you to dig deep deep into your

mind where you will find all your

answers and it may be call a person read

a book let me give you an example we had

a young fellow entrepreneur 35 years old

he built

successful business he worked about ten

years to do it and he for two years

wanted to sell his business so he could

take a year off and travel enjoy his

money and so for two years he just sort

of floundered around like a fish on the

dock wanting to sell his business nobody

offered to buy it he suggested it to

people people were not interested and so

on and in this exercise that they put

him through

his twentieth answer and often it's the

20th answer that is the breakthrough was

buy a book on how to sell your own

business and it just went off like a

flashbulb in his mind had to break he

got up as a downtown hotel got up went

down to the street to a major bookstore

went and found he was amazed at the

number of books have been written on how

to buy and sell a business so he bought

two or three books two months later he

had restructured packages business sold

it completely satisfactory and took a

year off he said but it's just a single

idea it was a breakthrough idea but it

was so simple just get a book on the

subject and you think boy that's pretty

obvious yes but it's the most obvious

answers that we overlooked I know that

you've built a lot of companies I know

you coached a lot of people who built

great companies you've been an

inspiration and mentor to a lot of

people I'm a person who I've gone

through maybe perhaps your goals

exercises you have very thorough goals

exercise I'll put my goals down I've got

all the objectives in the task lined out

and I just can't seem to get started in

90 days passed by and I still haven't

gotten started now I'm at the point

where I'm starting to beat myself up and

all what's the key after I've got the

mechanics so to speak in place what

what's the what can I look for wearing

and where can I look for it to get

started this is one of the biggest of

all challenges it's procrastinating on

starting on a major goal and the way

that you overcome it one of many ways is

you break the goal down into as many

small steps as you possibly can you make

a list of every single step that you're

going to have to take to achieve the

goal from the first one of clearing your

desk or reading a chapter in a book or

making a phone call or working out a

financial plan

so what you do is you break it down into

small enough steps Henry Ford said the

biggest tasks in the world can be

accomplished if broken down into enough

small steps and once you've broken it

down into enough small steps just do one

step so you know of all of these steps

there are 5 minute 10 minute steps have

all of these steps what would be a good

place to start and then you do just one

thing and maybe the next day you do just

one more thing and what happens within

the mind is there's a natural momentum

but once you get into the rhythm you

start to move forward and pretty soon

you're doing the next step and the next

step in the next step and so on I had a

good friend who had for years wanted to

write a business book and he was working

from the 7 or 8 the morning till 9 or 10

o'clock at night had never had the

energy to write it so he finally said

I'm going to write this book so I'm

going to write it one page at a time so

he rescheduled his life so he came home

earlier went to bed by 9 o'clock got up

at 5 o'clock and wrote one page that's

all by the end of the year he had a 350

page book and he published the book and

it became a great success but it was

just writing one page a day that enabled

him to write a best-seller

How to Deal With Rush Hour, Traffic Congestion and Slow Downs | New Driver Smart - Duration: 14:18.

Hi there smart driver. Rick with Smart Drive Test talking to you today about congestion and traffic

slowdowns which usually happen on highways freeways and interstates. If you

drive on the MA long enough you will experience slow down or backups due to

traffic crashes traffic volume or stuff falling off the back of the truck or

other people and animals being on the roadway where there shouldn't be so it

is going to happen now just before we get started here make sure you hit that

a couple of recent trips one in Vancouver I experienced traffic back up

actually it was one of the few times the traffic actually came to a standstill

and I actually turned around and went back and found it an alternative route

in Toronto I experienced back up on the Gardiner Expressway and in a recent trip

there and it was simply due to traffic volume so we're going to talk about

traffic volume today back up and what you do in that situation to sort of calm

yourself down not get excited because unfortunately what happens in traffic

congestion is that you don't know what's going on you don't know whether it's due

to traffic volume you don't know whether it's due to a crash or some other

unforeseen event such as the sinkhole here in Vernon BC that we've recently

had here in the spring due to all the water we had recently so stick around

we'll be right back with that information

about traffic congestion yes at certain times of the day you are going to have

traffic congestion in and around large metropolitan areas regardless of where

you are in the world London in England Cincinnati in the United States you know

the state of Ohio Vancouver British Columbia Canada Toronto Ontario Canada

all these large metropolitan cities are going to have interstates motorways and

freeways and those freeways without fail during the business days of the week are

going to have rush hours in the morning and in the afternoon and years ago when

I drove truck into Toronto eastbound on the 401 we had a saying that if you

didn't get past the 299 which was the big Snider's meet sign by 5:00 o'clock

in the morning you were going to sit in traffic in Toronto and for those of you

haven't been to Toronto Toronto through Toronto is eight lanes of traffic going

east and west there are four through lanes the Express lanes and then there

are four collector lanes if you've been to any of the big US cities most of the

big US cities have ring roads which means their freeways going around the

city that moved to facilitate traffic flow in and around the city and I have

sat in Atlanta Georgia on six lanes of traffic interstate traffic going in

either direction in bumper-to-bumper traffic in the afternoon during rush

hour so the first defense against sitting in traffic and experiencing

traffic congestion is to plan the time of your trip if at all possible avoid

seven o'clock to ten o'clock in the morning because if you travel on an

interstate in and around a metropolitan area between 7:00 and 10:00 in the

morning you know you're going to sit in traffic likewise if you're heading out

of the metropolitan area in the afternoon between 3 and 6:30 you also

know that there's going to be congestion there's going to be rush-hour so plan

your trip accordingly do not try and come out of the city between three and

six thirty in the afternoon now that's going to vary a little bit depending on

which fault in an area you are in and around

and you will get to know that if you are driving in and out of the city for work

every day now if you are driving in and out of the major metropolitan area from

the outer suburbs or one of the communities one of the what they call

bedroom communities where people live and sleep and so then then commute into

town there are alternative forms of transportation I mean in Toronto they

have the GO train and lots of transit systems will allow you to have Park and

Ride where you can park your vehicle and then take the train or the local transit

system into town that's an alternative now if you do end up sitting in traffic

and do commute into town every day you know that so you're going to listen to a

new stories on the radio you're going to go and get audio books and those types

of things now a few years ago Zig Ziglar was saying that if you listen to

audiobooks in a car during your travels and commutes for a period of up to two

years it's the same thing it's comparable to doing a master's degree at

a university so there is a lot of learning that can go on while you're in

your car now I do encourage you not to do distracted driving all those things

that drivers do in the daily grind and commute of going back and forth in and

out of a major metropolitan area you know shaving eating putting on makeup

drinking coffee all those types of things try not to do that while you're

driving you can get some work done while you're doing it if you need to make

phone calls and those types of things but certainly make sure that you're on a

hands-free set now if you are in traffic as I said previously plan your trips

accordingly so you're not going in and out of the major urban centers during

rush hour now obviously in the morning the traffic's going to be going into

town so if you're coming out of town you're probably going to be all right

now in the afternoon traffic is coming out of town so if you're going into town

you're probably going to be alright you know that a part of congestion now there

are unforeseen things that do happen on freeways that cause freeways to slow

down or shut down sinkholes you know animals get out on the freeways and

those types of things people are watching around for whatever reason on

the freeway those and traffic crashes obviously will slow down and shut down

the freeway now one of the things that you need to be careful about on freeways

if the freeway backs up for whatever reason

and the traffic behind you is not come to a stop yet make sure that you put

your Waze on make sure you keep lost lots of distance between you and the

vehicles in front of you that way when you see the traffic coming up behind you

you can simply move up and you're not going to get rear-ended and I'll put a

video up here for you on how to defend against being rear-ended in vehicle

especially on a freeway because there have been some awful awful incidents of

vehicles plowing into the back of other vehicles that are queued up to get on

off an off ramp or queued up because the traffic backed up for whatever reason

that it may have backed up so know that have a look at the rear-end video so

that you don't get rear-ended on a freeway now saying that the other

tactics that you keep in place while you're crawling along in the backed up

traffic is stay back from the vehicle in front of you yes you're going to have a

gap there and other people are going to try and get in and those types of things

and whatnot just let them go there crash somewhere else you got to stay back

because sitting in traffic and driving slowly bumper-to-bumper and it just kind

of grinding along it is distracting you're watching you're looking at other

vehicles and the vehicle moves it forward and you move forward and you

know if you got space you're not going to drive into the vehicle in front of

you and it's less likely that you're going to get rear-ended by the vehicle

behind you so make sure you keep space between you and the vehicles in front

you don't have to be right up tight to them it's not required it doesn't matter

if somebody gets in front of you people are going to cut in there turn it going

to try and move over they're going to get around they're going to go in the

utility Lane and they're going to turn around on the freeway in those types of

just let them go okay it is frustrating it's you're on edge when the traffic's

backed up you don't know what's going on you don't know how long it's going to

last yes but take a breath have your audiobooks

and just try as much as possible to relax in Vancouver here where we got

backed up in traffic and actually it's been a couple of times now that I've

been running for the ferry in Vancouver and got stuck in traffic

you know we missed the ferry we were two hours late and so instead of getting to

Vancouver Island at 9:30 at night we ended up getting to Vancouver Island at

11:30 at night but we got there safely nobody was injured nobody was hurt but

it was one of the few times that we'd sat in traffic

we're almost 90 minutes before I decided that it was time to turn around and go

back and find an alternative route so sometimes if emergency services if there

is a traffic crash they will be really good about it

tune into the local radio stations they will have traffic reports and you can

figure out what to do if emergency services are on it they'll have people

out there deterring the traffic and moving it around to alternative routes

and try and getting it around a major crash or some other incidents that has

caused the freeway to be shut down but it's it's it's a rare incident that they

actually shut the freeway down completely and you know try and merge

try and be conscious of other people and try and you know help other people to

merge and those types of things to try and move the traffic for now one other

thing that you might find on a freeway is if there's congestion and

construction where two lanes are moving into one lane to get past construction

you may find two large commercial vehicles that sit beside each other and

actually kind of crawl forward and hold the traffic back I've actually been in

trucks that have done that because it's a great deal of work for truck drivers

to be in stop-and-go traffic because you're holding the clutch in you're

letting the clutch out you're putting the thing in you're shifting a couple of

gears it's much easier for two trucks to drive at a slow speed at a constant

speed and much less exhausting and then when you get up to where you need to

merge the one truck moves in front of the other so try not to curse the trucks

out or try not to get in on the shoulder because stop and go traffic for truck

drivers and bus drivers is probably one of the most owners things that you have

to do it is much easier to move at a constant slow speed in a truck than it

is to move in that stop and go traffic so if you ever get behind two trucks

that are doing that and blocking the traffic and holding it back that's the

reason they're doing it and actually you're probably going to get through the

congestion much faster with those two trucks doing that then you are and stop

and go traffic so know that if that happens to you and that's what's going

on that's what's happening in congestion and as well just take a breath have your

books listen to the news figure out what's going on if you are in for an

inordinate amount of time and what I'm talking about inordinate anything beyond

half an hour forty-five minutes you might want to find an alternative route

but for the most part in my experience has only been a couple of times in all

the years I've been driving I've actually been in traffic that

stopped most of the time within 15 or 20 minutes the slow down traffic will speed

up and take off again so you're usually not going to sit in

back up traffic for very long quick review of traffic congestion plan your

trips accordingly know there's going to be rush hour in the morning and rush

hour in the afternoon in the morning all of the traffic is going into the city so

if you're going into the city in the morning between 7:00 and 9:00 or say

6:30 and 9:00 o'clock you're going to be sitting in traffic if you're coming out

of the city in the afternoon between three and six thirty you two are going

to be sitting in traffic unfortunately for some of those who live in the outer

suburbs of these large metropolitan areas and commute back and forth every

day you're going to sit in traffic if you're driving your car some of the ways

that you can combat that sitting in traffic and knowing you're sitting in

traffic stay back from the vehicles in front of you get a couple car lengths

listen to some of the news stations some of the public broadcasting systems that

have the shows on in these talk shows they're quite interesting and

entertaining as well go to the library or purchase audiobooks audiobooks are

really great to listen to in your car actually there was a study a couple

years ago I think it was I can attribute this to Zig Ziglar he was saying that if

you listen to two years of audiobooks in a car while you're driving it's

comparable to doing a master's degree so there is a great deal of learning that

can be done while you're spending time in your vehicle now if you're sitting in

traffic don't do all those distracting things like talking on your phone and

putting on makeup and shaving and eating and all of the other things that we do

on the freeway in traffic listen to audiobooks it's good for your brain good

exercise for your brain so that's another way you can do it and I know

you're on edge it's frustrating because you don't know what's happening you

don't know the reason that the traffic is slowed down or backed up whether it's

a traffic crash or how soon it's going to get going in those types of things so

there's a lot of unknown variables in terms of backup and traffic crashes and

other events that cause traffic to back up on interstates freeways and motorways

so know that the take your time keep your space and have something in the car

that you can do or listen to a story or something like that if you've got kids

in the car as well go to the library and get those books

and there's a CD accompanying the book and you put the CD in the radio and they

can walk along our look in the book and read along with this the CD on the radio

so that's another thing you can do with your kids if you're driving on freeways

and know that you're going to be around metropolitan areas probably end up in

congestion that unfortunately will extend the length of your trip question

Hello I am Abhay Maniyar and I am going to talk about Google Assistant.

Google Assistant is a virtual assistant by Google and it

works on the principle of Remote Procedure Calls

Using Remote Procedure Calls the client application, like Google Assitant can call

methods on the server application directly.

The server application returns the output of the method execution back to the client.

All this happens very fast and very seamlessly.

So Lets take an example of this.

Suppose I want to calculate this huge product so I enter these numbers in Google Assistant

and the Google Assistant will forward these numbers to Google Server.

The Google server will take care of the product

and return us the output as result.

The Google Assistant will show the result to the user as if the calculation was

done on Google Assistant itself.

So that's how Google Assistant works.

HOW TO GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE - Duration: 7:58.

How to go out of your comfort zone

So our comfort zone is a behavioral space

where we try to minimize and even avoid any form of discomfort or pain

This could be

physical, emotional or psychological pain.

Many people whenever they experience a

form of pain, they drop everything they're doing in order to numb whatever

they're feeling

Their goal becomes to go back to feeling good as fast as possible

Now a good example of this would be me filming this video

I realized that every

time that it became a little frustrating, every time I didn't get a word right

or every time I confuse the idea or wasn't clear enough, I became

frustrated and I decided to take a break or I want to check my phone and the

problem with avoiding discomfort and pain is that whenever you don't allow

the pain to exist whenever you don't allow space for the discomfort you end

up waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and desperately hoping that

some thought, emotion or circumstance will show up and change everything. The

thing is that life doesn't work like that. Now if you think about it our

comfort zone is not comfortable at all. Our comfort zone is actually a 'stuck

zone' it's not a zone where you're all cozy and happy, it's usually a state where

you're confused you're frustrated at yourself you have a lot of self-hate

towards yourself of why can't you just do it wouldn't it be more accurate to

just call it the 'stuckness zone' or 'what's wrong with me why can't I just do

it zone', The thing is that there is no such thing as a pain-free life, pain is part

of the process. Pain is part of the process no matter if you decide to say

stuck or if no matter if you decide to go out of your comfort zone and actually

live through that pain. When you stay stuck

that is your familiar pain that's why you continue going back to that pain

because you're used to that pain you're used to disappointing yourself, you're

used to just hating at yourself and thinking that something's wrong with you

and you're not used to actually dealing with the other form of pain

which is the pain of growth, the pain of actually staying outside of your

comfortable pain so which pain would you rather the pain of stuckness or the pain

of growth and progress.

so how do you go out of your comfort zone

well in general

going out of your comfort zone is as simple as just doing it. The problem with

that is that suddenly becomes a much harder the second you actually have to

just do it. Suddenly just doing it is not, is not that easy. So instead here is a

strategy that you'll be able to apply the next time you feel like you can't go

out of your comfort zone. You can't just do it. And the main idea in this strategy

is to allow the pain and the discomfort to exist. Usually our initial reaction is

to try to get rid of it, to try to avoid it, to try to focus on something else

besides the pain, instead of just allowing the pain to exist and

understanding that it's part of the process. There's not much you could do

about it. You could go back to the old pain and stay stuck or you could take

upon yourself the new pain, the new form of pain and actually grow and progress

with it

Think of a certain area in your life right now that you feel stuck

A certain area where you're actually trying to avoid

an area that you're thinking

about it 24/7 it takes over any empty headspace you have and an area that

you keep in trying to deny and suppress and to like get out of your head. Now

think of that and try to think what is it that you usually do first when

that comes up? Do you go check your phone? Do you go watch a movie? Do you go out with

friends? Do you go eat? We have all kind of ways to distract ourselves from the

pain in order to go back to feeling good

but when you do that you keep in determining your future to stay

stuck. You're basically saying to yourself I do not want to grow I want to

stay here. So after you recognize the first thing you go towards whatever I

want to do is the next time you experience that pain is just to allow it

Just to let it exist. To make space for it. Don't try to get rid of it, don't try

to suppress it Just let it exist and live through it by

doing that you basically allow yourself to react differently to the situation if

you're used to reacting by going to check your phone right away or you're

used to reacting by going to meet up with friends or even alcohol or drugs

then you're not allowing yourself to actually fight through the pain but the

second you actually make space for it you're allowing yourself to live through

it and to come up with a different reaction towards it. Perhaps a reaction

that might even support continuing the pain, like let's say re reconsidering

to take a step back and continue going forward instead. Now the thing is that

our comfort zone is a place we're going to get stuck throughout of life over and

over and over again this is not something you go out and then you stay

out of and this is important to understand because we could improve in

getting out of our comfort zone we're never going to be able to stay always

outside of our comfort zone but there are three things that we could become

good at to learn to stay out of it and that is the first is to recognize that

we are stuck okay the first thing it's real to recognize that I'm stuck in my

comfort zone right now you could become, you could become better at recognizing

that, the second theme is to make yourself unstuck to actually learn to

get yourself outside of the comfort zone and that's you do that by just accepting

the pain accepting the discomfort and not trying to avoid it or to suppress it

and the third thing we can learn is to try to stay out of our comfort zone for

longer periods of time this happens after you practice and after you

continue staying outside of your comfort zone suddenly living and the pain of

growth becomes easier and easier even though the pain of growth would grow as

much as you grow with it but again do you rather the pain of stuckness and the

pain of staying in the same place where you don't really get much out of it or

do you rather the pain of growth where it actually takes you to places that you

want to go
