Y'know what time it is… it's PrE3 mah bois…
My fanbase is mostly consisting of Nintendo/SEGA fans, maybe some occasional Sony fans too,
but knowing my name and past videos, this is mostly Nintendo focused and bois… we
got a BIG SHOW COMING…
The show floor doesn't kick off until Monday, June 11th, with Microsoft and Sony following
up the next day, June 12th, but for Nintendo, it's the 13th… (and I pray to god the
test for my summer class will end early enough for me to do some live reactions on time w/o
spoilers…)
A week until the show, roughly 10 days for Nintendo, holy shit did E3 come around so
fast.
It feels like yesterday, we just saw the Switch presentation.
Nintendo's kicking this off with a Nintendo Spotlight video presentation at 9 AM Pacific
Time which is 12PM EST, and the presentation will show off Nintendo Switch games, including
Super Mario Odyssey.
Now I find it odd they didn't specifically say Switch and 3DS games with how Nintendo's
pushing the 2DS and the handheld line is still getting some games throughout 2017.
So, this might show Nintendo's starting to accept the Switch as the main focus for
their company than being split between 2 different systems and I really hope that's the case.
I think the Switch should be their main focus, have both handheld and console developers
work on one system, the hybrid portable console, create and develop games at a faster rate,
have an easier time creating those big titles that would normally take longer, more creativity
and innovation would be evident for those games as well with how fast and efficient
the development process will be, and it's easier to sell one console than 2 different
systems.
It just makes too much sense to go down that route and I hope that'll be the case.
Also, The Nintendo Treehouse will stick around after the spotlight to run down Switch AND
3DS games, show behind the scenes info, and maybe even surprises, so there's still more
to come, even after the presentation, which excites me, I'll get into specifics soon.
But also, on the 13th, at 2:30 PM Pacific, 5:30 PM Eastern, the Splatoon 2 Invitational
Tournament will go live and the next day, the 14th at 3:30 PM Pacific and 6:30 PM Eastern,
the ARMS Invitational will go up as well for any hardcore gamers out there interested in
seeing that.
The big this about all this is even though Odyssey will be the main highlight of E3 this
year, President Kimishima stated repeatedly that there will be more unannounced Switch
games that'll boost the Switch's sales so there's plenty of Switch stuff going
to be revealed and I can't wait to see what's left to be announced.
In addition, 3rd parties are actually enticed by the Switch.
We already see that with Minecraft, Street Fighter, FIFA, NBA, Dragon Quest, Skyrim,
etc. and there could potentially be more.
Like Ubisoft's big title they keep specifying for example, boy I wonder what that could
really be…
Now it's also worth noting Nintendo's floor space is the 2nd biggest, behind Sony
but more than Microsoft.
With all the space, all these events, all these surprises in store, all the mystery
surrounding it all, the biggest question is what is Nintendo gonna do this year?
For now, I'm gonna discuss the services and tidbits Nintendo may do for the Switch.
First, they recently revealed how their online service will function, the price, the classic
game compilations, the fact it's delayed, etc.
I think they'll briefly touch up on that, maybe explain some more about other eshop
titles and such and maybe even more on My Nintendo because there's still stuff & rewards
they didn't explain and My Nintendo's worthless at the moment, but the big thing,
Nintendo you gotta clarify SOME information about this, we gotta know the specifics about
the Virtual Console.
We gotta know when it's gonna come out, what games will be compatible, if that added
online functionality will apply to N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy games whatever games are coming
that's not freakin' NES or SNES, and especially, if Gamecube Virtual Console is real.
Nintendo, I swear to god, this is your big chance to drop that bombshell regarding Virtual
Console games on the go.
Playing Mario 64, Super Smash Bros. Mario Party, Star Fox, etc. with added online functionality
and especially the same for Gamecube games like Starfox Assault, F-Zero GX, Metroid Prime,
Kirby Air Ride, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine, Paper
Mario The Thousand-Year Door, Luigi's Mansion, not every game has to have online, but if
these games come to the Switch via Virtual Console, people are easily gonna love that
idea.
Your older fanbase especially, which is what most Switch owners consist of, are gonna fall
in love with the Virtual Console if Gamecube games are purchasable.
Nintendo, you can't continue to speak of nothing regarding this.
You gotta give some sort of explanation TODAY, when the conference happens.
You gotta give us something, even some little thing, don't tease with "Virtual Console
is coming," no either the date or the games specifically and do not sugar coat the NES
and SNES games again.
Now's the time.
Now's the perfect time to come clean.
I don't have much to say regarding 3DS stuff so I'll knock that out quickly.
Hey Pikmin, Fire Emblem Warriors, Ever Oasis, Lady Ladyton, those 3 Kirby games, and the
like are gonna get demos and they'll briefly be talked about and showcased during the treehouse,
BUT…
Here's a kicker…
RUMOR HAS IT that files within the 3DS's eshop were leaked and 2 icons were discovered.
One for Ever Oasis, which is the same one as during the preview events over the past
months.
And another one codenamed "Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga DX."
What I would presume is this is a remake of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, a brilliantly
fantastic RPG, probably done with Dream Team's Engine or something similar, and there could
be some extra mode like Bowser's Minions, it's something along those lines, I forget
specifically what that mode was, and it's probably worth noting recently Bowser just
got trademarked.
Now, in my Mario & Rabbids video, in the beginning I pretty much gave a monologue of how I feel
about rumors, how ridiculous they can be, etc. and for the most part, I stick to it.
It was during the Mario & Rabbids rumor wildfire, but more and more evidence point to it's
existence.
Here… the bad thing is is I want this to be real.
On one hand, I'd be happy that Mario & Luigi is getting remakes, I think the first 3 games
would look amazing on the 3DS and if there's additional content, I'll take it.
But the thing is this would look 10x better on a system people aren't practically tossing
on their shelves to not be played, on a system that's a handheld with the power of a console,
this should've been on the Switch!
And maybe it will.
Maybe it'll follow the Fire Emblem Warriors / Hyrule Warriors route and have not just
a 3DS version, but an upgraded, stronger, prettier Switch version, assuming this is
true, I hope that's the case.
With the portability the Switch has, this seems like the perfect time to bring Mario
& Luigi games to a console and they would be gorgeous if they did.
Not to mention, again, the 3DS is kinda dying with the Switch overshadowing it and doing
immensely well.
If this comes on 3DS, it might be a forgotten remake, a title that hasn't sold well by
any means and it just makes more sense, again, to put Mario & Luigi on the Switch.
That being said, I want that to be real, some of me wishes this rumor is real, but I'll
believe it when I see it.
That's really all I had to say regarding 3DS.
But people aren't caring about the 3DS, people care about the Switch and I believe
the presentation is going to be done in a similar fashion akin to the April Direct last
month.
And boi, I betchu we're gonna get around 50 minutes, maybe even an hour,
of nothing but Switch stuff.
What kind of stuff am I talking about here?
I think we might get another trailer for Splatoon 2, not sure what specifically, not a Splatoon
guy but I feel like Nintendo would either throw out another trailer or two before the
game comes out, or a direct a few weeks before it comes out.
I think a trailer would be likely for E3 as well as a brief mention for the tournament,
plus the amiibos for Splatoon.
For ARMS, I think they would just briefly talk about that and say "Hey, this comes
out after E3!
Now's the chance to pick it up since you tried and most likely loved the Test Punch,
other preview events, and enjoyed the tournament.
They'll briefly bring up the ARMS tournament and just do an overview of the game.
Maybe a peek at some DLC if we're lucky but I doubt it.
Also, I'm gonna make a bold prediction and say ARMS amiibos will be a thing.
I think they would bank in on a lot of money if ARMS had amiibos because I'm telling
you right now, I would buy Min Min in a heartbeat, along with Spring Man, and I'm sure ARMS
fans would snatch Helix, Mechanica, Byte and Barq, and especially Twintelle quickly too.
Breath of the Wild, I think here we'll get information regarding the DLC.
One pack's coming for summer and another for winter if I recall, so Zelda fans may
get more of Breath of the Wild.
Fire Emblem Warriors, we'll finally know the story, the main gameplay, more characters,
we're gonna get amiibos similar to how Hyrule Warriors got it, and we'll get a decent
overview of what the game will basically consist of and it'll be releasing late September,
I'm calling it right now.
A big, beautiful Fire Emblem game on the Switch, in the gameplay style of Hyrule Warriors and
One Piece Pirate Warriors, and now that Fire Emblem has become a high tier franchise to
Nintendo alongside Kirby, I'm sure fans will go crazy over it, and I also believe
we'll even get a look at that new Fire Emblem game coming in 2018 for Switch because Nintendo
did say there is another Fire Emblem title in the works for the Switch aside from Warriors
and I think we'll get a sneak peek.
Another big title we'll finally know details about, is Pikmin 4.
Pikmin 4 I think is a guarantee at this point, Miyamoto said they were almost done with it
on Wii U a year and a half ago, we've had nothing about since, E3's likely the perfect
time to do it.
All this time, and Pikmin fans were just left in the dark, almost like Breath of the Wild
fans, I think now will be the best time.
I don't know for sure if it'll come out this year because then it'd compete with
other titles, maybe in October?
I'm not sure, this I might have to think about, but Pikmin 4 I think is a safe guarantee.
Also, I mentioned this briefly and gave this it's whole video, Ubisoft will finally reveal
the Mario & Rabbids crossover game, all the leaks and artwork we saw seems way too convincing,
so many people are buying into it and so many signs point to that game's existence being
true, despite how I feel about rumors, I'm positive this is going to get presented.
One of the biggest curveballs in gaming, Ubisoft is gonna reveal their biggest title for the
Switch so far, I mean they have a time table for it and I pray to god the humor and charm
is something along the lines of Rabbids Go Home.
I don't hate the Rabbids, I loved Rabbids Go Home, but seeing them mesh with Mario seems
odd and totally unfitting at first, especially with all the guns and lazers, but I say if
this is going to be a ridiculously bizarre crossover, I say go all the way with the weird
factor.
Embrace the weird, go full throttle because that could help the game itself with that.
Tbh, I'm actually excited to see what the hell this game has in stock and I wanna see
it.
Even though we're talking Nintendo, I wanna briefly talk Sonic too.
Sonic Mania, I think we'll get a brief overview and will say "Hey, it's coming to Switch
August 15th, you can preorder it now," or something and we might get something new revealed
like a new boss or a new zone, but that seems unlikely.
What does seem likely is new gameplay footage for Sonic Forces.
I think we'll get a demonstration of the custom character, we'll see another stage
or two either involving it or Modern Sonic, we might see more of the side characters or
cutscenes even, I'm predicting Forces will release late November early December, and
I'm excited for that.
Now away from Sonic, I think we'll get more information and another trailer regarding
Xenoblade 2.
A big trailer, a release date, more gameplay tidbits, more story tidbits, and we'll just
get more information regarding Xenoblade, giving fans something to mull over for a few
months and I'm gonna make another bold claim that it actually will release in December,
the game actually will be close to completion, and this is just me making a bold claim for
the hell of it.
Everyone says it wont be out late this year, it has to be out in 2018, but I'm gonna
be that one guy and say it'll still be a 2017 holiday release.
Regarding 3rd parties, we'll get the release date for Skyrim, FIFA, Yooka Laylee and maybe
even some surprise others.
Maybe Call of Duty will come to Switch or I don't know.
I don't what other 3rd parties off the top of my head.
Overwatch?
I don't know.
I think there will be more 3rd party coverage beyond Mario & Rabbids, Skyrim, FIFA and Yooka
Laylee.
Now here's a big one, I think Smash bros for 3DS and Wii U will get ported over, I
think it's a safe assumption it will, I've started getting back into it, an enhanced
port of Smash for Switch will work wonders for the system.
It worked with Mario Kart 8 extremely well, it became the best-selling Mario Kart, outselling
Mario Kart Wii, a Wii Mario Kart game mind you, and the port is barely any different
from the Wii U version outside battle mode and 5 characters.
That just goes to show how many people missed out on the Wii U, and how many people didn't
know about Mario Kart and other Wii U titles.
If Smash gets on there, along with the other possibilities, it's a done deal for the
Switch and as much as I'd love for it to be a platform, I think Sakurai has worked
far too hard and far too long on it, he says he's done with Smash, he has his medical
condition, he's already working on another project, yet he could supervise this port
maybe as not a lot of stuff could be added.
I can see Ice Climbers returning because they were already done and added in Smash Wii U,
but because of the hardware limitations of the 3DS, they were scrapped, I think Ice Climbers
will return, the Inklings from Splatoon will join in, and I think Spring Man / Ribbon Girl
will also be characters for Smash.
Spring Man as one costume, Ribbon Girl as another.
That's one veteran and two first party newcomers and I think people would love that.
Maybe add some more new music, a new stage or two, like bringing back Ice Climbers Summit
stage and use Inkopolis or a stage from Splatoon as a stage in Smash and Spring Stadium.
Smash Run could replace Smash Tour, they could mix and add 3DS stages alongside Wii U ones,
in crisp beautiful HD.
If they really wanted to make it different from Smash Wii U, I say make a whole new adventure
mode, maybe even something as simple as Melee's, not even Subspace Emissary.
Though if we got something like Subspace Emissary coming back, with all the character interactions
and cutscenes, I think people would love that.
The story sucked, but the gameplay, cutscenes and overall interaction were awesome back
in Brawl.
The trailers and reveals for Smash left us craving some sort of Adventure mode like that,
maybe an anime, some sort of story involving more interactions we could control in game
is what we want.
But if they go with those characters, the mixed stages and such, I think people will
be fine with it.
Could ask for more, but there's only so much Sakurai can endure and people kept saying
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would be the worst selling Mario Kart because of its lack of distinction
from the original version, it was barebones, it was a terrible port, yet it became the
best-selling Mario Kart.
No matter how much shit people throw at remakes like these, they're gonna buy them anyway,
so why even bother complaining?
The same's gonna happen for Smash with how notorious the Smash fanbase is for complaining.
Smash for Switch is gonna push the Switch big time and I think it's a safe bet it
will happen.
If not, we might have to wait around 2-4 more years for another Smash Bros and it's possible,
but lord that roster's going to get so damn huge…
Also, Retro Studios, the creators behind Mario Kart 7, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and the
Metroid Prime Series said they were working on a new game and mentioned their development
team is big enough for them to develop multiple games at a time.
I'm gonna say, we're gonna get another Metroid game for Switch.
Whether it be another Prime, a Other M sequel or whatever, I think Metroid fans will get
that true Metroid game they've been craving for for 7 years now.
After Federation Force, after Other M, I think it's time they revisit the old Metroid.
It's also been speculated a 3rd version or an HD port of Pokemon Sun and Moon would
come to the Switch and as time passes, hmm…
I'm not too sure.
I think Pokken Tournament may actually be revived and is coming to Switch to be honest.
We've still yet to get Empoleon, Scizor, Croagunk, and Darkrai and it was a popular
Wii U title so it makes sense.
As for Sun & Moon… competing with the other big holiday titles mentioned and not mentioned…
I don't know…
It's possible.
I'm gonna give it a 50/50 chance at saying it could go either way.
But if it does, the 3DS is done dude.
Once Pokemon gets moved to consoles, the 3DS, the handheld market for Nintendo is completely
done.
That's the biggest reason people get 3DS', it's the best-selling handheld franchise
and once it comes to the Switch, boom it's a wrap.
Another prediction I have, is Animal Crossing.
I think there's going to be an Animal Crossing Title teased for the Switch.
Not coming this year, but next year.
Maybe we'll get a tease for Animal Crossing, though I feel like I'm buying into other
people's hype & wishes for another Animal Crossing.
I don't know.
Maybe Animal Crossing.
Maybe.
I'm not sure.
And now, I'm gonna make my off the wall and pie in the sky dream predictions, I have
2.
One, Kid Icarus Uprising is gonna get an HD port.
I should not have to tell you guys how underrated Uprising is.
I have an Uprising video planned soon, but DUDE!
KID ICARUS UPRISING IS PERFECT FOR THE SWITCH!
There doesn't even have to be a brand-new Kid Icarus game, they can release an HD port
on the system and a lot of people, including myself, would be completely fine with it!
Uprising is one of the most gorgeous games on the 3DS, the characters are charming beyond
the standard of the word, the story is great, the gameplay was incredible, the multiplayer
was incredible, the music is god-like, Uprising is literally the best 3DS game out there.
The only drawback was the control scheme, which made people's hands fall asleep, cramp
up, etc. and with the Switch's variety of controls, knocking that off there would make
Uprising one of the most perfect games on the Switch already.
And now, my second dream prediction, is Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door HD.
I shouldn't have to tell you guys more about how much I want a true HD Paper Mario.
Thousand Year Door was a fabulous title, an HD remake was teased, and the demand would
be met if it was asked about it enough.
If Mario & Luigi is potentially getting remakes, why shouldn't Paper Mario, especially if
you're gonna compare them as if they're the same game…?
See what I mean?
You guys know I'm gonna drill this in to death, give us a true Paper Mario in HD on
the Switch pretty please.
And I think that's pretty much it, so let me k- wait what's that?
I'm forgetting something?
I went over every possible prediction and event for Nintendo's E3.
What could I be forgetting?
The biggest game?
My channel name?
What does my channel name have to do with thi- Oh yeah, the biggest focus, the most
anticipated game of the year, Super Mario Odyssey.
To be honest, if E3 was JUST Super Mario Odyssey, like last year it was just Breath of the Wild,
I'd be down with that because this game is more than enough to keep me contempt.
With it being the main highlight of E3, I'd suspect we'd finally know what's up with
Mario's cap, we'll know a little bit more about the narrative, how Bowser got this power,
how Mario got his hat powers, we'll see more worlds, we'll see more power ups whether
they're caps based on the worlds Mario's in or just power up caps, we're gonna see
how each world in Mario Odyssey connects and how the entire Earth will be traversed with
that ship like in Sonic Unleashed, we're basically gonna get more lore, more characters,
more power ups, especially more worlds, whether we see more parts of the worlds we already
know or entirely new ones, and this game will release mid-November.
I'm telling you, that'll be the case.
That's what we'll know about Super Mario Odyssey and oh my god, help me.
I can't hold all this hype.
And looking at the most likely / safest outcomes, we're getting Super Mario Odyssey, Fire
Emblem, Pikmin, Zelda DLC, Mario & Rabbids, Xenoblade, Smash Bros, and potentially Metroid.
I'm telling you, this is going to A HUMONGOUS E3!
At least one of these titles should be enough to get you hyped, even a tiny bit.
Assuming virtual console is a thing, along with Animal Crossing, some 3rd parties, and
god knows what other surprises there are, this E3 is already looking to be stacked for
Nintendo and holy shit, I cannot wait.
God, please, give us Kid Icarus on the Switch and please give us a true Paper Mario in HD
as well.
Overall, I predict wholeheartedly, Virtual Console details plus Gamecube Virtual Console,
a little ARMS, a little Splatoon 2, Zelda DLC, Fire Emblem Warriors, Pikmin 4, Mario
& Rabbids, Xenoblade 2, a few 3rd parties, Smash for Switch, Metroid, Pokken Tournament,
and above all, Super Mario Odyssey.
That's a pretty tanky lineup of E3 announcements, even among the safe and surefire ones.
It can't get here soon enough now that there's a week left.
Thanks for watching and let me know down below what do you predict?
Do you agree with my predictions?
Do you have others of your own?
Do you disagree with my predictions?
Tell me.
But thanks for watching and you can bet your ass I'm covering a lot of Super Mario Odyssey
when the time comes, as well as Sonic.
Stay tuned for more things Nintendo as I'll be ramping up Mario Odyssey hype videos before
E3.
Take care and stay super.
