U.S. President Donald Trump will not invoke executive privilege to prevent former FBI

chief James Comey testifying before Congress this week.

The White House said Monday that Trump does not intend to assert that privilege in order

to facilitate a thorough examinaton of the facts sought by the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Comey is scheduled to speak before the committee on Thursday as part of their probe into alleged

Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and possible collusion between the

Trump campaign and the Kremlin.

Comey's testimony is also expected to address the circumstances around his firing last month.

Now, the law office has filed a Notice of Email Filing with the Federal Court in which

the lawsuit it filed, telling the Court all about this "highly irregular" conduct

by Ms. Wasserman!

See, as an attorney, I can tell you that lawyers aren't allowed to speak to represented opposing

parties in a lawsuit.

Which is why this caller disguised her voice…so she could subversively get information she

could not otherwise obtain.

Republicans are give a leading representative one of the best committee placements in the

House and it is someone who has never shown interest in getting it: South Carolina Rep.

Trey Gowdy.

This week, Gowdy will be awarded with the chairmanship of the powerful House Oversight

and Government Reform Committee, regardless of the fact he has not declared he was running

for the position.

The Republican Steering Committee — which is comprised of Republican leadership and

some additional representatives — will meet up the upcoming week to elect a replacement

for Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, who has announced his retirement from Congress on the 30th of

June.

Gowdy represents an effort at compromise.

The conservative Freedom Caucus had in mind a person of their own for the position, however

the group has been a thorn in the eye of party leadership, and almost killed the Affordable

Care Act repeal bill of Speaker Paul Ryan.

Gowdy is among the several non-Freedom Caucus lawmakers that members of the group will support

for the chairmanship.

Gowdy is closely connected with Republican leadership and is also deserving of the respect

of the GOP members.

Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, a member of the Freedom Caucus, stated Gowdy "is tried, tested and

exactly what the committee needs at this time."

It is not the first time Gowdy has been offered a position he didn't ask fot.

Gowdy was in charge of the special committee to look into the terrorist attack in Benghazi

in 2012 and was named a top Republican in the House Intelligence Committee's investigation

into Russian interference in the 2016 election, not long ago.

Additionally to Oversight and Intelligence, Gowdy is a member of the Judiciary Committee,

which automatically puts him on the House committees looking into the Russian meddling

in the presidential election.

His name also appeared on the short list as a replacement for former FBI Director James

Comey, whose termination last month is already a crucial element of the investigation.

Regardless of the Gowdy's credentials, some republican members of the committee are upset

with what they feel has been an unfair selection procedure, despite the fact that Gowdy will

do a good job.

Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is more senior on the committee than Gowdy is and had previously

signaled his interest in the chairmanship.

Jordan is a co-founder of the Freedom Caucus and the Oversight Committee has more than

a half-dozen members who belong to the group.

But questions were raised about whether House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., would allow a flamethrower

to get such a powerful position and Jordan ultimately said he wasn't going to run.

Gowdy refused to comment on this, however, his spokewoman, Amanda Gonzalez, stated the

following: "Congressman Gowdy, who has served on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee

since 2011, has enjoyed working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle conducting oversight

consistent with branch integrity and looking for ways to reform the institutions of government.

He will continue to work with his colleagues regardless of what position he holds."

Congressman Trey Gowdy's career seems to always keep reaching new stratospheric heights.

Following his investigation into Hillary Clinton's role in the Benghazi tragedy, he was tapped

to serve on President Trump's transition team, and then he was named to the powerful

Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Lately, he has become the favorite to take over for outgoing Rep. Jason Chaffetz as the

chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

However, Congressman Gowdy just revealed that he has become involved in a different project

that is completely separate from his political career in Washington, D.C.

Rep. Gowdy is close friends with Republican Senator Tim Scott, who also hails from South

Carolina, and they announced that they are writing a book together about their friendship.

Senator Scott told Palmetto Politics that they have not decided on a title, although

they are considering Cotton, Courtrooms and Congress.

Described Scott about the project, "We're still in the middle of developing chapters,"

and stated that they are getting tips from professional writers.

He added, "Trey wanting me to write an autobiography.

I didn't want to write an autobiography."

They decided on the compromise of writing a book together.

Said Scott, "We're two very different people — two different styles, a lot of

things that are polar opposites except we happen to have core principles which make

the friendship work very well."

Scott stated that he is "a poor kid from North Charleston, a single parent household,

mired in poverty."

By contrast, Scott said Gowdy is "a doctor's son, mom and dad in the house, sisters."

Speaking about their differing styles, Scott said about Trey, "He's an analytical thinker.

I'm more of a big thinker.

I like to talk about things that are possible; he likes to talk about things that are happening

now."

The book will be put out by Christian publisher WordServe Literary Group, and has a planned

release for April 2018.
