Youtube daily but Jul 18 2017

Good morning, it's Scott Garliss at Stansberry Research.

Today is Tuesday, July the 18th.

This is your Morning NewsWire.

Markets are lower this morning.

S&P Futures are off about 2 to 3 points.

The big news here came out overnight, was that two more republican senators came out

and voiced concerns with the healthcare reform bill in front of the Senate right now.

That brings the total of republican senators against it to 4.

They could only afford to lose 2 votes.

So right now it's looking like the bill is dead on arrival.

What the market's don't like is it looks like they put it on the back burner and they still

wanna try to resurrect it.

I think the markets would much rather just see this thing die and see them move on to tax reform.

They look at that as a much better growth venue for the markets.

We'll see how it plays out, but right now, the markets are voting with their feet and

they're saying we don't like this thing being put on the back burner.

Also, we had decent numbers from Netflix come out overnight.

Stock was up about 10% after hours.

You also had Bank of America, another big one this morning, put up good numbers.

Trading about flat.

Shouldn't be a surprise in light of the fact that financials have been very strong lately

around inflation data.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see this thing get a decent bid after the conference call

and the rest of the financials follow suit.

Also, we had inflation data out of the UK overnight, weaker than expected.

That's got sovereign bond yields marked down over in Europe.

That also has sovereign bond yields lower in the US this morning.

If you couple that with what happened in the Senate, you've got the dollar lower because

people are concerned about Trump's growth agenda.

This has gold marked up this morning as well.

Another bit of news that I would pay attention to in the oil markets.

OPEC has invited Libya to come to Russia this Saturday to meet for their technical meeting.

And what they want Libya to do is put forward a plan on their output growth.

People are going to look at this positively from oil because what they might do is

tell Libya they need to back off.

That should be good from a supply standpoint.

That's got oil marked up this morning.

Lastly going forward, we are going to be paying very close attention to the ECB policy decision

later this week and Draghi's press conference afterward to hear what he has to say about

growth and their plans for their stimulus.

Mourinho to continue living in luxury Lowry hotel next season but MU boss will have dinner delivered - Duration: 3:36.

Jose Mourinho to continue living in luxury Lowry hotel next season but Manchester United boss will have dinner delivered after growing tired of being pictured

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is hoping for a finger-licking campaign at Old Trafford next season. Mourinho will reportedly take up residence again this season in the five star Lowry Hotel after opting against buying a house in the Manchester area.

Jose Mourinho attempts to disguise himself leaving the five-star hotel with a hooded jacket.

The Lowry say their Riverside Suites have the feeling of a stylish private apartment. The Special one will be using online food service Deliveroo this season to cater for his culinary needs, according to Mirror Sport.

It emerged last season Mourinho sent out for takeaways from Manchester's finest eateries to avoid being bombarded by the paparazzi every time he left the complex.

Mourinho is said to have become fed up being followed and photographed whenever he left the hotel to have a meal in the city with his staff after a long day at the training ground.

The 54-year-old is understood to be staying in one of the hotels six luxury Riverside suites – which cost guests an average of £816 per night.

However, the Manchester United manager is believed to have a greatly-reduced rate due to his long-term stay. Despite the bosses decision against buying his own place, the United officials have no concerns about his long-term commitment.

The Special one exits the Lowry hotel that is situated in central Manchester.

The Lowry hotel boasts a gym and spa area, 24-hour room service and concierge. A United insider told Sunday People Sport: "Jose likes living in the centre of Manchester and is happy at The Lowry now.

Understandably, though, he doesnt want to eat out every night. Thats why on occasions he will bring the restaurants to him with Deliveroo for a bit of variety. Having that option has made it more feasible to live in the city centre..

The Reds have upgraded from the fast food of the Europa League to the fine dining of the Champions League and have added Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof to next season's menu.

Despite ending with a sixth-place finish last term, the United boss still managed to win two trophies.   Jose Mourinho SNIFFS his watch during tense final moments of Manchester Uniteds draw with Celta Vigo.

Trump rejects his poll numbers as fake news — but even his voters are starting to notice the scam - Duration: 7:16.

Trump rejects his poll numbers as fake news but

even his voters are starting to notice the scam

Stressed and agitated about all the fake news about Russia and his sons legal

predicament, not to mention the ongoing train-wreck of his legislative agenda, Donald Trump decided

to spend the weekend watching and tweeting about the U.S. Womens Open tournament at

his New Jersey golf club.

It had to make him feel a little better, since the profits from these golf properties go

into his own pocket.

According to this report from McClatchys Anita Kumar, Trump is unique in that respect

even as a business owner, much less a president of the United States who would normally

be assumed to be too busy to make personal appearances for publicity at his profit-making

businesses virtually every week.

Trumps Twitter feed indicated he was having a nice time, at least until the Washington

Post unveiled its new poll numbers:

That was a nice try, but the poll showed that Trump is actually at a 36 percent approval

rating, which is the lowest rating of any president at this point in his presidency

since Harry Truman.

He is down six points from his 100-day mark; his disapproval rating is at 58 percent, with

48 percent strongly disapproving levels never reached by Bill Clinton or Barack Obama

and only reached in George W. Bushs second term.

He can tweet that its not bad all he wants, but its bad.

And it has to be mentioned that for all the rights yammering about the election polls

being wrong, they actually werent.

The national average on the day before the election showed Hillary Clinton winning by

a 3.5 percent margin, and she won the national popular vote by about 2 percent easily

within the margin of error.

People were shocked on election night because they just couldnt believe that hed pulled

off a weird inside straight in the electoral college, not because the polls had been rigged

against him, which seems to be an article of faith among his faithful followers.

In any case, this poll shows that Trump is slipping badly with independent voters, 38

percent of whom approved of his leadership back in April.

Only 32 percent are behind him now.

Democrats arent even worth counting at 11 percent.

Yes, Republicans are still in his corner for the most part: Eighty-four percent approved

of him in April and 82 percent approve now.

Experts suggest that a president is in real trouble when approval among his own party

dips below 80 percent, and that hasnt happened yet.

One of the most astonishing results in the poll regards the Russia scandal.

Six in 10 Americans believe the Russian government tried to influence the election while 31 percent

dont think it happened and 9 percent are unsure.

Sixty percent of the public believe it happened, and 67 percent of those people think the Trump

campaign was complicit.

But heres the weird number:

The number of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents who think that the Russians sought

to influence the election, and that the Trump team intentionally helped them, has fallen

from 18 percent in April to 9 percent now, indicating even stiffer GOP resistance to

the idea.

Among leaned Democrats its gone from 60 to 64 percent, not a significant shift.

The more Republicans hear about it, the less they believe it happened.

And we arent just talking about Trump true believers.

This is all Republicans, even ones who held their noses to voted for him.

Considering the information we have, it would be fair to say we dont know what really

happen,ed but for Republicans to think theres less evidence today than there was

three months ago is bizarre

Still, a majority of Americans (52 to 37 percent) think Trump is interfering in the investigation

and 63 percent think Donald Trump Jr.s meeting with someone he believed was from

the Russian government, in hopes of collecting dirt on Hillary Clinton, was inappropriate.

So theres that.

While the Russia scandal may inform peoples views of Trumps leadership, its his

own behavior on the world stage that has 48 percent of the country believing that U.S.

global leadership is weaker since Trump was inaugurated.

Only 27 percent think its gotten stronger.

That was supposed to be his big selling point his unique talent for making deals with

foreign leaders.

But only a little over one-third trust Trump in any negotiations with foreign countries.

Fifty-five percent say that Trump is not making much progress on his goals, which is probably

a relief to most of them, particularly when it comes to health care.

That GOP bill continues to be about as popular as E. coli: Only 24 percent support it.

More troubling for Trump and the GOP is that theyve lost older voters and white women

without college degrees on this issue.

Older voters vote in midterm elections, and women without college degrees make up a large

portion of the population that will be affected by the possible loss of health care.

They might just vote in larger than usual numbers too.

A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll will be released later this week, but they teased

their results with one interesting observation: Trumps base may finally be eroding a bit.

They sampled voters in counties that either flipped from Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016

or where Trump did much better than Mitt Romney, and found that Trumps support is slipping.

In those counties where Trump did much better than Romney, he beat Hillary Clinton by a

combined 65 to 29 percent.

Today hes down to 56 percent approval.

In the counties that flipped to Trump from Obama, the presidents approval rating is

just 44 percent.

He won those overall with 51 percent last November.

All of these numbers are dismal for the president.

The big question is the reasoning behind it.

Gallup has some answers.

Its not so much that people disagree on issues, which isnt all that surprising

since Trump is all over the map on those.

Sixty-five percent of people who disapprove of his performance in office say its because

of his character, personality and competency, specifically criticizing his bad temperament,

arrogance, obnoxiousness, lack of experience, selfishness, racism and sexism, lack of knowledge,

wishy-washiness and use of social media.

Certainly one can assume that Democrats, at least, are hostile to Trumps stands on

issues as well, but because of his bad character and incompetence they dont feel that anything

he says on the issues one way or the other is trustworthy.

Thats his problem: Donald Trump is demonstrating his unfitness for the job, right out there

for everyone to see, every single day.

One day, in Smash, Mega Man was finishing off Fox with a Metal Blade Attack, when he hit a mysterious switch, and everyone, including cut characters from other games, got sucked in a portal. This led to the land where the princess was, and most smashers made it through, but Pichu was not used to the force of the portal and got launched. In other words, "Pichu-Pi! Chuuuuuuu!" Ding!

...The smashers ended up in the kingdom of wheat, the castle gaurds (popcorn, hay bales, corn cobs, ETC.) where unaware of the other worldly presence, playing SSBM the very thing described in the paragraph above happened. "That was odd" said Colonel Kernal, "How is Hay Bailey even playing a video game!?" Fox, after waking unconcious, noticed...

That everyone got seperated and the explosion from coming out of the portal unlocked 1 more slot in the roster. He tried to get info, but lack of Internet caused this: E---E ----ION PO-E--N

... Meanwhile, Kirby and Yoshi wandered out of the Kingdom of Wheat into the Kingdom of Magic, there was a feast... {10 Minutes Later..} All of tue chaos drew out the kingdom's fairies, being fairies they have magic wands. You talk to your pets but do you stop to listen - Duration: 1:03.

Most pet lovers are very good at murmuring sweet nothings to our animal

companions. We talk to them a lot but do we ever stop to listen. I sometimes think

it must be enormously frustrating to be a cat or a dog trying to get a message

through to your humans. Most humans just don't shut up if we're not talking we're

fixated on TV screens or mobile devices and even if we're just sitting there our

minds are filled with mental agitation. So as a nonverbal being how exactly are

you supposed to get your message across. Fortunately Buddhism gives us tools to

relax to let go of thoughts and simply to abide in the here and now in other

words to put ourselves on the same page as our pets. We become more aware of

changes in their proximity to us their physical posture and even intuitive

signs and symbols in other words we start to listen and that's when the

magic happens.

Mikel Landa takes aim at Tour de France podium, but not at the expense of Froome's yellow jersey - Duration: 1:48.

Mikel Landa takes aim at Tour de France podium, but not at the expense of Froome's yellow jersey

We are partners not rivals says top Team Sky domestique. Mikel Landa, Chris Froome, and Fabio Aru pm stage 12 of the Tour de France Credit: Yuzuru Sunada.

Team Skys Mikel Landa says that he wants to make the podium in the 2017 Tour de France, but not at the expense of current race leader and team-mate Chris Froome.

Behind a tightly packed top four, all within 29 seconds, Landa sits sixth overall at 1-17 behind Froome.   If I don't hurt Froome, I would love make the podium.

I feel good and I would like to do it, but I cannot do it at his expense, Landa said.

More than a lieutenant, I can be a key player to stop the rivals.   In 2015, Froome won the Tour de France with two Movistar riders – Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde – on the podium with him.

In 2012, Froome stood second alongside winner and team-mate Bradley Wiggins. Landa has also been in a similar situation before.

In 2015, he positioned himself to lead team Astana to the Giro dItalia win when Fabio Aru suffered early in the race. Aru rebounded and Landa helped him, they finished second and third respectively, behind winner Alberto Contador.

The Open 2017: 'Henrik Stenson has great memories - but cannot let his mind wander'. - Duration: 8:10.

The Open 2017: 'Henrik Stenson has great memories - but cannot let his mind wander'.

It was a chance meeting in an empty car park just over a week after he had played the golf of his life.

Henrik Stenson was in a rare moment of solitude. His life had been turned on its head after the spectacular 63 that secured his stunning victory over Phil Mickelson.

That epic, record-breaking duel at Royal Troon yielded the Open Championship and, aged 40, the Swedes long-overdue first major title.

Now he was at the US PGA, the next major, and was packing his bags into the back of his car. He smiled and readily accepted another congratulatory handshake. You know what - that was something truly amazing, I said.

I know, the reaction has been incredible, he replied. You have no idea when you are in the middle of it..

It is now almost a year since his three-shot victory, his 20-under-par total leaving him 14 clear of JB Holmes in third.

The famous Claret Jug is heading back into the hands of the R&A, and Stenson is readying himself for this weeks title defence at Royal Birkdale.

Golf does not stand still. The scale of Stensons task is made all the harder by a long list of likely rivals who covet the oldest and most important title in the game.

Birkdale was the venue the last time the Open was won by a defending champion - Padraig Harringtons victory in 2008. But if Stenson is to emulate the Irishman, he has to beat challenges from all over the globe.

There is a rampant newcomer in Spains Jon Rahm, in-form local lad Tommy Fleetwood, Japans Hideki Matsuyama and a string of Americans headed by world number one Dustin Johnson and including players such as Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and US Open champion Brooks Koepka.

Do not discount Masters winner Sergio Garcia, who has all the attributes to overcome the magnificently demanding yet fair Southport links, or Olympic champion Justin Rose, who made his breakthrough as an amateur at Birkdale in 1998, holing out from the rough to finish fourth aged just 17.

Adam Scott is another who fits the profile of a potential winner. The Australian came desperately close at Lytham in 2012 and played the Scottish Open last week, a proven event for producing Open champions.

Six of the past seven winners have competed on the links of Scotland the week before the championship, and Sundays winner Rafa Cabrera-Bello is a quality ball-striker who will feel renewed confidence.

And then there is golfs capacity, like no other sport, for throwing up winners no-one can predict - a Ben Curtis (2003) or Todd Hamilton (2004) type who reserves his best golf for the week that matters most.

But there can be no doubting the pedigree of the reigning champion, and Stenson has allowed himself the odd moment to reflect on the scale of his Troon achievement. Its certainly not something that I want undone, he told BBC Sport.

It was a career dream and a childhood dream that came true winning the Open Championship last year. So its been hectic but its been a very good year..

The Claret Jug has taken pride of place, a focal point to remind him of that extraordinary Ayrshire weekend when nothing was going to deny his quest to become Swedens first male major winner.

When I had a bit of a break over Christmas, I would walk into my office in my house and there it is.

You just think back to that wonderful week and how well I played and what I managed to accomplish, he said.

To play your best golf when it matters the most in the tournament that you most of all want to win, it was something very special.

Of course at that point the number one priority was to win the Claret Jug and get your name on there.

But the way we managed to win, the level of golf that Phil and I played, put me in the record books and that could be something to be very proud of over time.

There could be a race to overtake them this week but they could stay for 30 years or so. Stenson began that final round with a sloppy bogey, and Mickelsons birdie led to a two-shot swing on the opening hole.

But thereafter the Swede went on the rampage, culminating with birdies on three of the closing four holes to bring a testing Troon to its knees. There was no rush to watch replays of his greatest golf.

It took a good two or three months to actually watch the final round and it is always a little surreal to watch yourself, he said.

It all feels very natural because you were there, and I was the one playing, but at the same time you havent watched it from the outside, so to speak, so it is a different thing to watch it on tape.

If I ever need a little boost in the right direction and remind myself of what I can do, I can always go back and pick that tape up again.

Stenson, though, knows this is not the time for reflection. A mediocre performance to finish tied 26th at last weeks Scottish Open sums up the past year, and he has yet to return to winnings ways.

At times I feel like Ive been a little bit off, mentally, and the focus hasnt been there 100%, he admits.

Its kind of hard to turn the page because you are always talking about what happened last summer and with this game you have got to be in the moment and keep looking forward.

That will have to be the case at Birkdale this week. Arguably the finest golf course in England, it invariably identifies great champions.

The roll of honour includes greats such as Peter Thomson, who won there twice, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson and Johnny Miller. Mark OMeara was the Masters champion when he won in 1998 and Harrington was a dominant force in 2008.

Given his stratospheric standards a year ago, Stenson has a tough act to follow. Add in the strength in depth at the top of the game and the pedigree of previous Birkdale winners, he knows his mind cannot wander this week.

No matter how great are the memories.

Arsenal news: Crystal Palace plot Wilshere loan swoop but deal is dependent on midfielder signing - Duration: 2:47.

Crystal Palace plot Jack Wilshere loan swoop but deal is dependent on midfielder signing a new contract

CRYSTAL PALACE are planning another loan bid for Jack Wilshere. The Eagles were close to signing the injury-hit Arsenal midfielder, 25, on a one-season deal last summer but were gazumped by Bournemouth at the 11th hour.

Jack Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth.

Wilshere broke his leg and is fighting to be fit for the start of the season. But new boss Frank de Boer is happy for Palace to try again.

A source told SunSport: "Crystal Palace have made an approach and want Jack for the season. Jack is out of contract at the end of next season and Arsenal are offering him a new one.

"They will only loan him out if he signs a new contract — otherwise they want to either sell him or keep him at the Emirates.

Wilshere is close to returning to full training after fracturing his left leg in a collision with Tottenham's Harry Kane in April. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will step up attempts to sign Thomas Lemar.

Frank de Boer will launch a second swoop after the Eagles missed out on Wilshere last season.

Jack Wilshere married long-term partner Andriani Michael earlier in the summer.

Wenger wants to trim his squad but the Monaco winger, 21, is a target regardless of Alexis Sanchez's future at Arsenal.

Keeper Wojciech Szczesny, Lucas Perez, Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy, Kieran Gibbs have all not travelled on their pre-season tour and will be allowed to leave. New Palace boss Frank De Boer is a big fan of Wilshere.

Benik Afobe talks to Justin Allen about Jack Wilshere and his return to top fitness.
