What People Do When They Don't Really Love You | Conscious Reminder - Duration: 4:23.

What People Do When They Don't Really Love You

I try to lace my work with optimism because a guiding principle in my own life has been that the most tragic things in our lives almost

always precede the most incredible.

I think that, at any given point, we are faced with the choice of whether to move on with what the universe gives and takes or to hold on

and bury ourselves in our own misery.

I do not perch on a high horse preaching this, because I have been in those depths, and I know what it's like.

I also know that there are few issues that will destroy you faster than matters of the heart.

But what I must tell you is that while teaching myself to climb out of that sadness and attachment-laden-misery,

I realized something that is a bit more realistic than optimistic, but so invariably true that it's worth giving attention to.

When someone loves you, you will know it.

If someone cares about you, they will find a way to be with you.

If they do not, they'll make excuses.

Sometimes they won't even be sure whether or not they love you, so you'll see them going back and forth trying to figure it out.

Love is not something that requires brain work.

It is not a riddle to be solved or a mystery to be uncovered.

It just simply is, and we just have to let it be, or not be, naturally.

I generally believe that people differ so much in their experiences and that no two situations are exactly the same,

so it's difficult to generalize something about love and romance, but I make an exception for this.

I know many of you are probably reading this conjuring up all the reasons why so-and-so did in fact love you but they just couldn't be with

you for this reason or that reason and why that was so valid and why I have no idea what I'm talking about.

That's okay if you want to think that, I won't stop you.

But the truth is that what you're holding onto is someone who doesn't love you enough to put you first and make it work.

And if I believe in anything, I believe that we all deserve to be with someone who wants to be with us as well.

So what we have to learn to do is to accept the love we aren't given.

To realize that although we put someone on a pedestal, that does not mean that their judgment determines us.

It's simply a mindset, one that we have to change if we want to get out.

People can love you a little bit, and they can love you enough but not enough to make it work.

It is not an all-or-nothing situation.

We have to stop thinking that it is, and that when the cards don't fall in our favor, that it defines some part of us as being unworthy and

unlovable.

Because to combat that idea, we hold on as fiercely as we can to the reasons we are loved, until letting go is our idea– not theirs.

But we all end up, one way or another, okay.

We're all on different rides, but they all end the same way.

You do not need somebody else's love to be whole.

You do not need their permission to go on with your life.

What you do need is your own love.

You need to let yourself go on.

Their love isn't stopping you, because that love doesn't exist.

It is only you who is holding onto what you believe should be.

And what you will realize, sooner or later, is that most of your life is defined and chosen by what you compel yourself to believe should

or shouldn't be.

Release yourself from the cage you built.

You hold the key to your own freedom.

Q&A – What is this white fuzzy stuff on my cucumbers? - Duration: 1:59.

"What is this white, fuzzy stuff on my cucumbers?

"The leaves are wilting.

"It's almost to the new blossoms."

And this is from Mike in Madison.

So where do you wanna start with that Walt, what do you think that was?

- Well, when I see the picture, it looked like I'm seeing a disease called gummy stem

blight.

And usually products that contain chlorothalonil will usually take care of it.

'Cause I'm goin' by those lesions that I'm seeing right there on the stem.

And I do know that gummy stem blight affect cucurbit crops bigtime, so obviously cucumbers

is in that cucurbit family, along with watermelons, as a matter of fact, I see it a lot in watermelon

plantings, is where I see this disease a lot.

- Yeah, those tan spots on the stems, is why I thought it was that.

I don't know of anything else that could be.

Did you think of anything else, Doc?

- Well that scalartinia, that stuff, but I think chlorothalanil will get that as well,

I'm not sure, but probably.

'Cause chlorothalanil is pretty broad spectrum.

- It is, chlorothalanil which is dacanil or any of your copper-based fungicides, should

do the trick as well, sulfur can be used as well, but just read the label on those.

Will it kill the plant though?

- Severe infestations, yes, yes it will.

- If his leaves are already wilting, that doesn't sound too good.

- Yes.

- And it's not gonna have many fruits, 'cause it's on the blossoms.

- Right so, this might be one you might say hey, I need to just start over, or just, this

is it.

- Go to the farmer's market just buy him some fresh cukes from the farmer's market.

#Barkley was the next big thing at Everton... but what happens next? - Duration: 7:15.

Chelsea and Tottenham target who has split the opinion of Toffees supporters?

For all the excitement around seven new signings – and the promise of three more to come – one name has dominated Everton discussion this week. Ross Barkley is the centre of attention.

He will not kick another ball in a Royal Blue shirt, with Ronald Koeman having made it clear in his press conference ahead of the Europa League tie with FC Ruzomberok that it was 100 per cent he would be sold in this window.

Some Evertonians are shedding no tears and are fully behind their managers hard stance. Others feel deeply disappointed that an Academy graduate, for whom there was tremendous hope, will take the next steps in his career away from his boyhood club.

But how did it get to this point where a relationship became fractured beyond repair? Sportsmail looks at how the story unfolded and what the future holds for one of the most talked about young players in the Premier League.

How did it come to this?.

If Barkleys time as an Everton player under Roberto Martinez was filled with unrelenting praise and positivity – and some remarkable comparisons – early notice was served under Koeman that any platitudes would have to be earned.

Before the start of last season, Koeman left no ambiguity in terms of what he expected.

Asked whether the chastening experience he suffered at Euro 2016 had left a mark – Barkley was isolated by Roy Hodgson and never got on the pitch – the Dutchman was blunt.

Ive spoken to everyone, about football, about their position in the team and how we train, Koeman said on August 13. I have contact with everyone. But, okay, I have spoken with him. He is a very good player.

But Ive told him how I see Ross Barkley and where he needs to improve..

The early signs were good. Barkley got Evertons goal in the opening day draw against Tottenham, the third time in four years he had scored in the first game but, slowly, the mood began to change.

He was dragged off at half-time against Sunderland, dropped for a game at Manchester City.

Everton had planned to give Barkley a new deal after the transfer window closed but the situation dragged and by Christmas, when Koeman publicly questioned whether the 23-year-old would ever realise his potential, discussions were placed on hold.

Koeman made a vow after that not to talk about Barkley in public and the temperature thawed; he rejigged the team and played Barkley in a more advanced position and his best form came in the early New Year but the mood wasnt sustained.

When it became apparent that Barkley would not sign a new contract and had rejected the offer he had been made, Koeman decided enough was enough. He would take Everton in one direction and Barkley could pursue another challenge.

The first thing to say is this is a sad situation.

The hope for Barkley, who used to run six miles from his home in Wavertree to Evertons Finch Farm training base during his time at The Academy, was that he would develop from a local hero into a true club legend.

Barkley is big and strong; when he plays on instinct and his confidence is soaring, he is a joy to behold and capable of providing moments that, in his words, gets fans out of their seats.

He can shoot with both feet and glide past challenges. For that reason, Everton valued him at £50million. When the figure became public on May 16, as Sportsmail reported, eyebrows were raised.

His form hadnt been good enough and critics pointed out that only three of his 21 career Premier League goals had come against top six sides.

Everton, though, have never sold cheaply and regardless of how long Barkley had on his contract, they would not give him away.

Yet whether they can command a fee in that region is doubtful, given how final and blunt Koeman was on Wednesday.

There will be no swift conclusion to this narrative but a number of chairman and negotiators will be watching events and preparing to come with an offer; Barkley might split opinion but he is an appealing prospect to several clubs.

Where does he go? . Eyes will have rolled when the names of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United were added to that of Tottenham in the light of Koemans revelation.

The argument being put forward is that he wouldnt get into any of those starting XIs. Some will wonder about why Tottenham want him, too, when they already have Dele Alli.

On the form he showed at the end of last season, he wouldnt get into any of those teams and not even his biggest fan could argue otherwise.

But here is the thing: he ticks a lot of boxes in terms of being attractive to potential buyers.

He is at the right age, he is home-grown and has many of the attributes required to excel in the Premier League; a number of managers will relish the challenge of lighting the spark with in him.

Pochettino, for one, can see potential. Antonio Conte is an admirer – as he is of his team-mate Tom Davies. Jose Mourinho considered bringing him to Chelsea during the summer of 2014 when Manchester City were quoted a £50million transfer fee.

The eventual cost of him leaving Goodison Park will not be that high but the next move has to be right.

He will be 24 in December and the days of him being viewed as a player of potential will be gone. Wherever he goes next, this has to be the season when Barkley delivers. .

[Interview] Alex Bennett - Getting over things and focusing on what's important (S01E07) - Duration: 9:35.

Alexander C. Bennett has two PHDs in Human Studies and Sciences

from the University of Canterbury and Kyoto University.

He holds the ranks of 7th dan Kyoshi in Kendo, 5th dan in Iaido and Naginata,

3rd Dan in Jukendo and Tankendo.

He is professor at Kansai University of both Kendo and Japanese Culture and History,

vice-president of the International Naginata Federation, member of the international committee of the

All Japan Kendo Federation, director at the Japanese Academy of Budo, cofounder of the

Kendo World Magazine, and author of several books in English and Japanese.

I think it's really healthy to always be skeptical and, you know,

not in a negative way, but just to question everything and always ask, you know: "Why?"

"Why am I doing this?"

"Why am I doing this?"

"What am I after, here?"

Because there are times in Japan which is like...

It is like you say. They... You...

There's like, you know...

At work there's a lot of pressure to do things and you push yourself.

But the problem is, it's not always clear what the purpose is.

There's a lot of wasted effort in Japan, I believe.

And I think that one of the keys to my survival so far

is that I've been able to distance myself from the bullshit when I smell it.

There was a time when I couldn't do that, you know?

And there's also other things, you know ?

The longer you live here, you look back on what you used to be like in Japan,

and then there's words that I use like

"Geekas Nipponica" and "Japan droid" and things like that.

It's like, when you first come over here: "Oh Japan, so cool!"

"Everything's so cool about Japan!"

"Even the bad stuff is really cool!"

And then you get other people who, sort of, figure that: "Ah!"

"Because I'm in Japan, I must become Japanese!"

And you do everything you can to act, and behave, and speak, and be more Japanese than the Japanese.

And when people say to you: "Oh nihonjin, yori nihonjin rashii daro" (You're more Japanese than the Japanese)

and you're so "Uh!".

It's like a, you know, an affirmation that you have successfully assimilated

and you're one of everybody else in Japan, and this is great.

It's like...

I know this because I've been there, right?

And when I was younger it's like :"Oh well, I'm in Japan, I've got to try and be Japanese!".

After a while you realize that: "I'm not Japanese for God's sake!"

It was one thing that sort of woke me up to that.

It was a very timely, another very timely piece of advice.

I was hell-bent on trying to be as Japanese as possible

because that's what I thought you had to do to be accepted, you know, in Budo and…

And in Japan in general.

And when you start doing that, that means that, essentially, you're negating your true self

and your own, sort of, cultural background, and, you know, your moral outlook and...

You know there's always going to be conflict with certain things and so:

"Well, I'm in Japan so I've got to do it this way!" it's like... It can be very stressful.

It can be very stressful.

And I remember one day in Shubukan, actually, with Mitamura-sensei.

She's a legendary Naginata teacher.

And she was in her mid to late 70s at the time, and she said to me:

"Wow Alex, I can see that you're trying so hard."

"You know, you're doing your best to behave like a Japanese,

speak like a Japanese and you come to training and you're very diligent,

but just remember that you don't have to copy the bad things in Japan.

There must be some good things in New Zealand too, right?"

A very simple statement and it's like: "Yeah."

"What the hell am I doing?"

"I'll just be Alex Bennett making the best, you know, out of both worlds that I'm lucky enough to have, you know,

a part of me."

You know, talking about it now it's obviously really simple, right?

But when you're young and you're trying to make your way in Japan, you don't see it like that.

You miss that. And such...

Little bits of, you know, advice like that, that I've received, would, sort of, wake me up a little bit.

That managed, well... It has enabled me to just, when I need to, keep my distance.

Choose your battles, as it were.

Because once you lose sight of that, then it's a losing battle.

And it's really sad, you know?

All the time people become...

They come here with the best intentions to learn Budo and, you know, all the stuff

and then before long they…

They peter out.

They lose that enthusiasm, they lose that flame.

They're…

Everything becomes overshadowed by negativity, the stuff that just doesn't make sense:

the politics and, you know, all that sort of crap.

And you've got to remember, so: "Well what do I like to do?"

"I like going to the dojo and training, getting it on and..."

"Bam!"

"Sweating and screaming and yelling."

And then thinking about, you know, all the ways, that what I'm doing in the dojo,

philosophically speaking, can be useful in my daily life as well.

It's really easy to lose sight of what's important, and living in Japan it's a...

You know, people often have these ideas of the Japanese way of doing things is so brilliant and efficient,

but it's not.

You know, it's like anywhere.

Like everywhere in the world, you know, you have your good points and your bad points.

But in Japan it's...

I don't know.

I guess the biggest difference between coming from New Zealand and Japan is in New Zealand,

and this is obviously a total generalization, in New Zealand we would say:

"Oh nobody's done this before. Okay let's try it!"

But in Japan it's: "Nobody's done this before."

"Who's going to take this... We can't do this! We can't do this because..."

"What if it goes wrong? Who is going to take responsibility?" you know?

And that's the biggest conflict that I have in my work, when you try and do new things.

They just won't let you do it.

You're constantly banging your head up against a brick wall.

But doing Budo, training individually, that's exactly what you've got to do.

You're always looking for ways to do something a little bit differently, to improve,

just to develop your art.

And that's...

You know, the fact that I can live in Japan, it was because of Budo that I came to Japan and was living in Japan.

Now it's because of Budo that I can stay in Japan.

Do you, sort of, know...

Do you see what I mean?

It gives me that freedom now.

You know, there's always stuff going on, and it's always, you know, various things that happen in the dojo

but it's like, well, you know: "That's not important to me."

"This is important for me."

"This is my space."

"I'm creating my art."

And, you know: "If you don't want to help with that, bugger off."

Yeah...

In the next episode, we're starting the second part of the series by talking about the origins of Japanese Budo.

First topic is the creation of the Kodokan Judo by Jigoro Kano.

Modern Budo really, sort of, starts with Judo and Kano Jigoro.

He used to get bullied.

Teach these bullies a lesson.

If you think of it now, you think: "Wow it's ridiculous!" because he was only 22.

Part of the education system was modeled on the Western.

If you try to introduce martial arts into the school curriculum, which ones do you introduce?

Stay tuned.

You'll learn a lot about the history of Budo in the next episodes.

What it means to be a POKER PLAYER & how I became one 👌 💯 Poker Muse VLOG #1 - Duration: 8:19.

hmm yo what's up everyone how are you doing

it's 12 o'clock CET and I am feeling like super super tired that happens when you grind to 3:00 in

the morning online poker my name is Gina and I'm a poker player

you might wonder what is a girl like me doing in the poker world... it's something I also used to wonder very often

I consider myself in no way an average person and the way I look

at life and the way I think about things is also not something very usual

I had the luck to learn from some really amazing people in poker, my profession and

academically as well. They taught me to always question everything even myself

I mean how does ever anybody starts to play poker? You have some crazy

friends who invite you to play with them a home game and then you realize that hmmm...

this is actually an easy way of making some money... you think in the beginning.

Being a poker player requires a lot of discipline, time energy and nerves as well.

You take your money and you risk it, you put it on the line in order to make

even more out of it. You can be the best poker player in the world and play the

most optimal strategy and you can still lose. It's not guaranteed that you are

going to win. But if you stick to a certain strategy and bankroll management

you can lower the risk factor so much you can almost be sure that you beat the game.

You can earn money and you can live your

life without "working and suffering"... like you can really make yourself independent

and live the life you want to live. But it is a big grind and it is also very

taxing emotionally, you really have to be able to go by it in a very stoic way

like like don't attach your emotions to the money, if you put it on the table you

basically lost it and if you win then you can be happy but don't be surprised if it's gone.

I moved to Vienna in 2010 because I got a job as a graphic

designer at one of the bigger sports betting providers. At the same time I

actually opened up some accounts... a Pokerstars and a PokerStrategy account as well.

Life has its funny ways, one of the coaches from PokerStrategy was actually my colleague.

So basically this was the beginning of a whole new era in my life

of course like anybody else who tries to get serious about something I also

invested a lot of time in learning. I would say I'm a semi professional poker player

yeah I think the best way to develop poker game is is of course number one I

would say is a coach. I searched out events which I think offer a good ROI

and where I also know that I can have some fun because of the player pool and so on

I recorded a lot of my sessions on video and I was talking and speaking out my

thoughts in between and then I watched it back and then I was like holy damn

like this is really what I'm thinking this is really what I'm doing?

I like to play for example online satellite forlive events... satellites where you win a package

where they pay you the hotel the flight, you get some spending money

plus the buy-in for the event... I mean these are just really fun, like this way I've been

traveling around in Europe to very nice places.

One of the best tournaments I played was in Manchester, in the Old Trafford Stadion organized by

PartyPoker and you know like huge David and Victoria Beckham fan here and

that was a place, the dressing room in the Old Trafford where this two met,

and we just had to see it we just had to check it out

but I've been also playing EPT Madrid for example I played in Marbella

Palma de Mallorca, London, Germany, Kings Casino in Rozvadov and in Vienna in Baden

so I guess you figure I'm a live tournament player... I actually like to play Omaha

cash game as well but it's like that you need such a big bankroll for that...

I just don't have it. Live poker is like much much softer, people are just

terrible in live poker... like 90% of your opponent have absolutely no idea what

are they doing in the hand... as a woman I get bluffed a lot. It's like... like

with absolutely nonsense hands they just bluff me because I'm a woman.

Being one of the few women at the poker tables makes it also really hard because

they are going to give you comments about your clothes, about the way you

look, about the way you talk, about the way you play, if you win you just

had luck but anyways you are stupid, you cannot play and so on.

So it's all about ego. I know there are a lot of efforts out there to turn poker into

sport and I also think that professional poker is a sport but

honestly I don't want to be ashamed if somebody asked me "hey what are you doing"

and I say "I'm a poker player" when I say "I'm playing poker" some people

look at me and they're like oh... And you know what? I don't want this and I feel like

whatever how good I behave myself whatever how much responsibility I show

there are still a lot of you out there contributing to this whole image of

to this whole negative image of Poker.

So an average day looks like that I usually stand up around 11, 12 o'clock... I eat some breakfast then

I check out the session from the other day, maybe watch some training videos, not every day but

every second-third day I go to the gym, I train a little bit and I come home make

some lunch and then basically it's on again, usually if I play online then I

start around 5 or 6 o'clock in the evening with some online tournaments or

if I go to play a live event these usually start 7:00 in the evening so

yeah these are the options, and then it goes on we play usually till 2, 3 or

4 o'clock sometimes in the morning, depending on how deep I come in the

tournament... and then I come home and I fall in bed being completely

tired physically, mentally, emotionally, in every way.

So it's six o'clock and a tournament just started and I have AJ right away from small blind. So... hmm...

Thank you for watching :) Subscribe for more videos like this.

What Is The Choice Of Possibilities Class? - Duration: 2:55.

Wow, to be in a class of The Choice of Possibilities is so intense.

There's so much happening, and energies showing up

and things moving and watching people change

Watching people have these AHA-moments

and seeing somebody shift like...

– I can't even put words to it.

Just seeing this profound moment where somebody's whole world changes,

it's like, "Wow, wow!"

Something that's been running their life, for a lifetime...

gone in a second.

It's unbelievable.

It's just it's crazy

I've talked to other people ... it reminds me of Harry Potter

– like a Harry Potter gathering –

because there's people doing stuff all over the place and this going on.

Just the whole energy of it is... it's really cool.

Wow, what is this class?

It is...

It's really seeing beyond the obvious

of what we've been told, taught, bought

as what we have to have and be in this world.

But really seeing beyond that

and being willing to see if we have, like,

a spark catch our eye.

To look at it and perhaps follow it.

The gift of these classes is that it's given me

The sense that there is choice, there's always choices.

There's more choices than I ever imagined.

I always just thought, "Oh, I can live my life,

I can continue with this job or die."

Now it's like, "Oh, it's not just one or the other.

I have this choice and this choice. I can play and oh my gosh,

I actually feel happy again and I'm feeling more joy!"

I had hoarded so much knowledge, and I realized

that through COP, it gave me a pathway to find knowing.

which is just like [snap] "Oh, right... Okay, let's go that way.

That seems easy. Ah, good!"

Instead of accessing my gigantic database of useless information

that's like, "Oh my god, it's a thousand tracks open."

I think this work and Access Consciousness and

The Choice Of Possibilities is really that space of the invitation to go,

"Hey, what do you know? Let's clear everything that's not yours,

that has been told to you, where you've been instructed

on how to do things right and avoid being wrong.

Let's actually bring out the gift of you and see what that is."

I don't know anywhere else on the planet that offers that.

Fractured Space - WHAT IS IT? - Duration: 4:50.

Hello YouTube X-eC Vandeplay here, Today not with another

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds montage video but today I'll be presenting a new game ...

It's called Fractured Space. It's been out already since I guess 2015 or so but me and my friend

we just started playing on PC and we just discovered their game and I have

to say I have been really enjoying myself playing it so I'm gonna talk

about what this game is all about and why I actually like this game so here we go!

Fractured Space is a 5v5 space shooter

where the main goal is to take the enemy base. If you look at the bottom right of

the screen you can see five sections your home base and the enemy base,

alpha 1, beta 1 and gamma so in the beginning of each game some people will jump to

alpha 1 some people will jump to beta 1 if you take a quick look at either alpha

or beta 1 you can see two bigger circles and three smaller ones so as you take a

look at the smaller circles these are mining stations. These mining stations

generate resources for your team if you control them. These resources can be used

to upgrade your ship and thus giving you an advantage over your opponent.

So there will be a constant battle for control over these mining stations on alpha and

beta 1 then you also see two bigger circles on alpha 1 and beta 1.

These circles are called forward stations. These can be used to

heal your ship or to upgrade your ship. At the beginning of each game you have

control over two forward stations one on alpha 1 and 1 on beta 1 as the game

progresses you will have to try to take control of the enemy's forward stations.

You can use these to jump to the enemy base and start capturing it. You can

capture an enemy base by having more ships of your team in the enemy base

than the enemy itself does. So for example if you have three ships in the

enemy base and they only have two ships you will start capturing it. So the

team that captures the enemy base first wins the game. So these are the core

basics of the game but we have one more sector to talk about and that's gamma.

Gamma is a zone that gives buffs to the team that controls it. These may seem

insignificant but they really give you a big advantage over your opponent and can

literally make or break your game. So these are just the basics of the game,

there is a lot more depth to this game but that's not the purpose of this video.

So let's move on and talk about what I really enjoy about this game. So I guess

what strikes me first is the team aspect of the game. I have been playing this

game with friends and it has been a lot of fun. So in my opinion communication is

really important in this game, so if you have some friends you could play this

game with it really adds something to the experience. Also the leveling system

in the game seems to really appeal to me. You earn credits by playing. These

credits you can use to buy new ships, buy upgrades for your ships, buy new crew

members all that kind of stuff so it really pushes you to playing just one

more game to get that new ship to get that new crew member and all that kind

of stuff. Also the mechanics in this game I really

enjoy. Except for maybe the occasional getting stuck behind the rock, getting

stuck behind this little thingy that hangs out of the base, that little corner

where you just gets stuck on with your ship you know. So but except for that it just

feels really good maneuvering the ship around, shooting the ships, using the

abilities ... it just feels right. So if you don't know which game you

should be playing right now I would definitely recommend trying out

fractured space. It's a free steam game. You can buy in-game credits and all

that kind of stuff but you don't have to. I literally haven't paid one cent to the

game and I have been doing quite okay for the

time being. So that's it for this video, if it was helpful in any way or you

enjoyed watching the video then please leave like! Also let me know what you

guys think about the game. Do you like it? Do you dislike it? Let me know in the

comment section down below. That's it for today. I'll be seeing you guys next

Wednesday! Take care!

What Choice Creates - Duration: 3:06.

The topic of choice... I had no idea what that meant.

Choice, up to this point, meant going to church on time.

Doing as you're told.

Living up to the best you can,

to what everyone else had told you was the best.

It was "as good as it gets."

It was trying to get there.

But choice...

What really turned around was,

choice is really me just following whatever is

like a playful uprising of energy as I see it.

Choice – after coming to so many of these classes –

is for me the willingness to really choose for me,

not be influenced by everybody else's points of view

or what I'm supposed to do or how I'm supposed to do something.

But really being able to trust myself, my own awareness and go,

"This sounds crazy, I'm gonna go for it anyway.

"I am having the waffle with the Nutella on it and the strawberries

and the cheesecake, for dinner and lunch and breakfast."

Like being able to choose the things that nobody else can choose

and nobody else might even be aware of.

I would say every moment,

there's a possibility to choose something different.

It's almost like there are these different bouncing balls.

If you see a possibility out there, you can just kind of play with it

and see what it would be like to maybe choose this thing.

And if it feels light and brings an energy, a curiosity

and kind of an openness, then choose.

Just try it and see what it would create.

Then they're also sometimes those choices that seem like

you're kind of curious about them, but it might be a little bit heavy.

You can even choose that too and just see what it creates.

I lived a big part of my life, before doing any of these classes,

in a universe where I thought there was no choice.

I was very, very sad and very depressed and suffered depression.

I was thinking of suicide multiple times.

The gift of these classes is that it has given me the sense that there is choice.

There's always choices and there's more choices than I ever imagined.

Like I always just thought, "Oh, I can live my life,

I can continue with this job or die."

Now it's like, "Oh, it's not just one or the other.

I have this choice and this choice and I can play

and oh my gosh, I actually feel happy again and I'm feeling more joy!"

One of the things I've been getting from these Access Classes

over and over, is the more I choose,

the more I become more comfortable with the process of choosing.

Then more possibilities seem easier and less out of reach.

I'll just try it and see what it creates.

It's more of a trust in myself, that I really did not have before.

Missed Opportunities In Love, What Screenwriters Should Know by Pamela Jaye Smith - Duration: 3:29.

Film Courage: Something you said in the last question reminds me of the Missed Opportunities

scenario, when I was a little girl there was a section in our town newspaper where I grew

up about "Missed Opportunities."

I'll never forget this one post was about a man who saw some woman and he described

her in great detail and said "We shared a moment" and if this is you, can you please

call me?"

And I've never forgotten that post.

This was pre-Craigslist, and I know all those posts exist now online.

But why are we so inthralled with this idea of missed opportunity?

Pamela Jaye Smith: A missed opportunity is a factor of idealism because that opportunity

is not fact.

It's an opportunity.

It's a possibility.

An onto that we can cast all of our dreams.

And I think most of us have all had those moments, you glance across a room, you're

crossing a street you look at them and they look at you and you go "Yeah….???!!"

And then you both walk on.

And you think "Should just go stand on that street corner and wait for them to come by

again?"

And so people do.

But I think the thing about a missed opportunity most at its core, it offers that question

"What If?"

Might that have been perfection that deep in our hearts we are all striving for?

Film Courage: So do most romantic comedies feature the missed opportunity or even if

it's just a friend at a wedding that they see across the table that they say hello to.

Isn't that sort of the core?

Because of the "What If?"

Pamela Jaye Smith: Yes…the Missed Opportunity can be the entire storyline of an entire film

or the main story or the main storyline of it.

For instance in FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, the Hugh Grant character definitely has a

missed opportunity through line.

And fortunately he resolves it and he and Andie McDowell get together…again.

But within the 3-part structure of the romantic comedy, that's the sad part about and the

tense part about that second section.

Yeah!

You saw what it could be and now it's gone.

Because one of you had to move or somebody got in the way or someone else's impositions

of propriety are keeping you apart.

And so that missed opportunity is a vessel (if you will) for idealism and perfection

really bothers us and we are driven to pursue what might be a perfect situation.

And now…it's a romantic comedy and they always stop when the people get together,

right?

We don't have to get into the part about disillusion and domesticity and all that stuff.

But we get to keep that illusion of perfection and idealism.
