I think it's clear to everyone at this point
that Instagram Stories has officially beaten Snapchat.
They have more users, they have a better user experience
and they're launching significantly more features.
For the marketers out there, what is this going to mean?
First of all, Instagram has a much bigger base
and while only a portion of that base today uses stories
this will likely grow to 400, 500, 600 million because in the meanwhile
Instagram, by the end of the year, will have one billion users.
For sure.
What this will look like is, you'll have to build more stories as a marketer.
And Instagram has launched many more things than Snapchat.
Instagram has better analytics,
they have better product feature launches
they've just integrated live in a super way.
Then they put in a feature that allows you to archive a video into a live story
and also reupload it to Instagram.
This is really a great and powerful platform
and they're clearly gonna build it forward.
From my point of view,
Snapchat is a little dead, still in the US you can do it
but in my opinion, as I already stated several times,
Today, they're worth $20 billion on the stock exchange.
I bet when they show the results,
and this video might come up after their results at Q2,
we're gonna see them not growing at the daily active users if growing at all.
We're gonna see everything slowing down, all the KPIs.
And then it's just a direct messaging platform used by a specific audience.
Instagram and Instagram Stories
is the platform marketers should be focused on.
You have to be doing those stories, you have to be doing not one or two a week.
This is nonsense obviously, they disappear after 24 hours for the users.
You do have to do 2, 3, 4 a day.
The challenge is, and it's going to be moving forward
for many of the marketers that wanna have that
is obviously the production.
You have to keep it fun, otherwise the users are gonna disconnect and engage.
Don't just put out content for the sake of it
because people are gonna unsubscribe quickly
from your stories or your entire channel
if you're spamming them. You really have to have great content.
