Hi.
I'm Tricia Clements,
Chief Fur Wrangler with muttbuts.com.
In this video, I want to talk to you about Instagram
and making sure that you increase
your productivity while scheduling Instagram posts.
Instagram is different than
a lot of other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter
in that it does not allow you to actually use
a app or any other type of platform to
schedule directly to the platform.
For instance, Facebook, Twitter, other platforms,
you can use scheduling apps like Post Planner,
Hootsuite and Buffer, and you can set
those post up to schedule directly to the platform.
However, Instagram does not let you do that.
I've got three tips for you
to help with your productivity when scheduling your Instagram
posts.
Number one is, go ahead
and create your post about a week out.
That doesn't mean that if you are out
on an event, you can't do something spontaneous
and do it then.
Absolutely, you want to have lots of pictures if you are out
on events, out at different
locations, go ahead, do those posts.
However, it does save you time if you go ahead
and do about a weeks worth of post.
That's because with Instagram,
it is mostly photo and also video.
So you want to go ahead and create those posts about
a week out so you have enough to post
and you're not at the last minute looking
for something to post.
If you don't have images that you want
to use yourself and you're looking for additional
posts, check out pixabay.com.
That's one of my favorite sites to get CC0 images,
that's Creative Commons Zero that
will allow you to download them, change them,
and share them on social media.
Number two is, use an app like later.com.
I really like this app because it is free,
you can create a free account, log in and
schedule your posts.
Now what I mean by that is, you will go ahead
and upload your images, your videos that you want to use.
Also you will put in what you want to say in
the post and schedule a time in the future
that you want that to post.
The reason that you need to have the app downloaded
on your phone and also logged in to is when
it comes time for that post to go live,
later will come up with a notification on your phone.
Basically, it will just come up and pop up
and say you need to go ahead and post this on Instagram.
You open it, make sure if you have personal
and business accounts, that before you open
that, that you are logged in
to your Instagram account that you want it to post to.
Then what you'll do is just go ahead and say post,
and it will bring it up just in Instagram,
you can paste in what you had originally said
that you wanted to go with your post.
Then, another tip is, right before you finish,
go and have in your clipboard somewhere on
your phone a list of your hashtags.
Because you're going to then copy those hashtags
and once you hit post on Instagram, immediately
go and post those hashtags into your first comment.
Make sure that you go ahead and do have
those hashtags in a clipboard or other type app
on your phone ready to go.
Number three is, if you are out and creating your post
on your phone and not at a laptop,
make sure you don't forget to go ahead
and add your logo to your images.
There are two different ways you can do this.
The first way that I used
to do all the time is with an app.
There are lots of apps out there.
I used one called ezy-watermark-ezy-watermark.
That's available for Android and also iPhone.
The other thing is, especially for you Android users,
what I've found is that if you are
in your phone gallery and looking at a picture,
if you simply say edit the picture and then
add decoration, it will allow you
to pic another photo to put on that image.
So make sure that you have your logo in
a PNG with a transparent background, download
it to your phone so you can select that
and put that on your picture where you want it to.
That way, you can add your logos on
the go which should be on all of your Instagram posts.
I've just given you three ways
that you can increase your productivity using Instagram,
because Instagram doesn't allow you to use
a third-party app to directly post without
opening up Instagram.
These were tips you can do and help you.
Go ahead and schedule those so that you don't have
to spend time every single day coming up with your post.
You can do that ahead of time and have it scheduled.
