Police told ABC 30 that they suspect Obdulia was "under the influence" when the car crashed and rolled "into a barbed wire fence and then into a field," though arrest details and a blood alcohol content test haven't yet been disclosed.
The other passenger in the vehicle, who hasn't yet been identified, was also not wearing a seatbelt and "suffered lacerations to her legs," Los Banos Police Officer Chris Smith said.
After the crash, Obdulia was detained by officers and brought into an ambulance after she was combative, screaming that her sister was dead as officers tried to calm her.
