so let's read a little bit from Srimad-Bhagavatam here
so this Ajamila is delivered from the Yamadutas
Yamadutas are in charge of the karmic stuff you know.
the Yamadutas, when we die, if we're still under the influence of the karmic wheel of
birth & death then we're judged by Yamaraj. Yamaraj represents this
judging aspect of God. It's actually the Lord on this level of
karma you know and so if we've done good deeds then we get the results of that. If
we've done bad deads then we get the result of that. The whole purpose of Bhagavatam is down is
to teach us about our position and then another position that's
transcendental to Yamaraja okay and this is a very important story to hear
because it gives us perspective about what's going on in the world in our
lives on a deeper level not just externals and we just kind of like in
the flow of the Maya so it's a good story
Nice story and great teaching in it so anyway this is Srimad-Bhagavatam
canto six sukadeva swami said Ah wait...first Om Namo Bhagavate vasudevaya
Om Namo Bhagavate vasudevaya Om Namo Bhagavate vasudevaya. Om Namo Bhagavate vasudevaya.
Sukadeva goswami said my dear king the servants of Lord Vishnu are
always very expert in logic and arguments after hearing the statements
of the yamadutas they replied. Actually let's hear some of the statements of the
oh yeah the Yamadutas were talking about karma
and that Ajamila was actually sinful and he should be punished so
be because he died under this... now the Visnudutas who are transcendental
to the material world they come and they're going to give their their idea
their reason for them coming and interceding in the life of Ajamila
Visnudutas said alas how painful it is that irreligion is being introduced into
an assembly where religion should be maintained indeed those in charge of
maintaining the religious principles are needlessly punishing a sinless
unpunishable person. A king or governmental official should be
so well qualified that he acts as a father, maintainer, and protector of the
citizens because of affection and love. He should give the citizens good advice
and instruction according to the standard scriptures and should be equal
to everyone. Yamaraj does this, for he is the supreme master of justice and so
do those who follow in his footsteps however if such persons become polluted
and exhibit partiality by punishing an innocent blameless person where will the
citizens go to take shelter for their maintenance
and security, the mass of people follow the example of a leader in society and
imitate his behavior. They accept as evidence whatever the leader accepts
people in general are not very advanced in knowledge by which to discriminate
between religion and irreligion. The innocent unenlightened citizen is like
an ignorant animal, sleeping in peace with it's head in the lap of it's master.
faithfully believing in it's masters protection if a leader is actually
kind-hearted and deserves to be the object of a living entity's faith, how
can he punish or kill a foolish person who has
fully surrendered in good faith and friendship
Ajamila has already atoned for all his sinful actions. Indeed, he has atoned
not only for sins performed in one life but for those performed in millions of
lives, for in a helpless condition he chanted the holy name of Narayana. Even
though he did not chant purely, he chanted without offense and therefore he is now
pure and eligible for liberation. The Vishnudutas continued; even previously,
while eating and at other times, this Ajamila would call his son saying, ''my dear Narayana please come here''. Although calling the name of his son, He
nevertheless uttered the four syllables Na-ra-ya-na and simply by chanting the name of Narayana in this way, he sufficiently atoned for the sinful reactions of millions of lives
the chanting of the holy name of Lord Vishnu is the best process of atonement
for a thief of gold or other valuables or for a drunkard or for one who betrays
a friend or relative, for one who kills a brahmin or for one who indulges
in sex with the wife of his guru or another superior. It is also the best
method of atonement for one who murders women, the king of his father or for one
who slaughters cows and for all other sinful men, simply by chanting the
holy name of Visnu, such sinful persons may attract the attention of the
Supreme Lord who therefore considers, ''because this man has Chanted My holy name
my duty is to give him protection''. By following the Vedic ritualistic
ceremonies or undergoing atonement, sinful men do not become as purified as
by chanting once the holy name of lord Hari.
Although ritualistic atonement may free one from sinful reactions
it does not awaken devotional service unlike the chanting of the Lord's names
which reminds one of the Lord's fame, qualities, attributes, pastimes and
paraphernalia. The ritualistic ceremonies of atonement recommended in
religious scriptures are insufficient to cleanse the heart absolutely because
after their atonement one's mind
again runs towards material activities consequently for one who wants
liberation from fruitative reactions of material activities the chanting of the
Hare Krishna mantra or glorification of the name, pastimes of the Lord, is
recommended as the perfect process of atonement because such chanting
eradicates the dirt from one's mind completely. GH: and you know that's the purpose of our
sadhu sanga here, is, you know, to get this boon, this benediction and
those who come here and those who know this and don't chant, don't take up
the chanting is, what help can they give and this is why I'm seeing many
people's minds are being drawn too much to the world, because they know
better, they come here and then they stop chanting. The one thing that can...
and Lord Chaitanya told, that could eradicate all of their problems, they stop coming to
sadhu sanga and stop chanting and then BOOM they go out towards the
external world and caught up in politics superficialities and all of that..see because
you know, Lord Chaitanya gave the method, said, chant the holy names
make it simple. Chant ...find devotees chant in their association whose minds
are drawn to the internal potency. If you can't do that, what hope is there!
really! I mean..if you can't even do ritual then he can't even do the the Vedic rituals,
which are only, you know, it's like a temporary thing until you understand
that the association of devotees who have their minds drawn so internally that
somehow they attract the attention of the Lord to come and just dump the
internal potency here and purify all kinds of stuff. So, this verse
is so good because it really teaches us, you know like what is really for our
benefit
because if you don't do Vaidhi bhakti, and you
refuse to chant the holy name, Maya will just capture you and just put you in her
thing and then, you'll see...
by the example, suffering, mental worries, problems, you know, everything! It ıs
the threefold miseries harass people that don't do their duty to Krishna or
God if you're a Christian, you do your duty, to really think about Jesus and
pray, all that. If you don't do that, then in the world the Maya comes in and the
threefold miseries start to harass us. That's miseries of our body and then we
become self-absorbed..I see it. Oh my God, you know, this and me, mine me me me ..get
self-absorbed and the mind, you're so focused on the mind
and emotions and all of this stuff and you are wrapped up, you're identifying so
you caught in Maya that way and you suffer and then the other thing is the
miseries of the body and the mind, miseries of
other living entities. oh yeah, other living entities, people start
harassing you! I see this.. I see devotees, they're just
miserable, you know, here, they're just..... oh you know... they want
to fight now, they're fighting each other, fighting this.. they're caught in
the modes of passion and they want to draw me into it sometimes. they want to come into
their... you know, they don't want
to watch the videos or anything, they're here, they don't come to chant or anything.
they're here.. they are caught up in this... oh we just want to just fight and then
there's position and they're suffering and pain and aggressions and you know..
It's herrendous! But that's the teaching, you know the
Lord says, well you know, let Me teach you the difference between My shelter and
then Maya's shelter.....and then you got.... and this is what ...earlier in the video,
I was talking about this... when people's minds get drawn too external, what happens is
the world starts cracking up...all of a sudden... because God wants to
teach us... this is not our home.... this is just a temporary
thing we're going to all die and the body is going to die and if we are too
attract to this, we come back and do this again! So the Lord will
probably... if people's minds and consciousness are drawn out there too much
then He just crack the world up..... just break it apart....
with terrorism and catastrophes and tsunamis and all of
this stuff to loosen people's hold and faith in the world, faith in politics
Faith in families and faith in ..this everything external..see ..chanting is a..
must because then we develop faith in... this is Krishna's internal potency
and so just to regularly do our duty to Krishna for our own benefit
is very important so this is the idea
the perfect process for atonerment ...so ...Srimad Bhagavatam: At the time of death
helplessly and very loudly chanted the holy names of lord narayana that
chanting alone has already freed him from the reactions of sinful life
therefore o servants of yamaraja do not try to take him to your master for
punishment in the hellish conditions
very sentence seems this process a purification causes these miseries to
come up like you described the Maya gets to us if we don't chant when
purification causes the Maya already in us to come up and then to come yeah
exactly come out exactly come up and come out
that's the beauty of it because when you're when you're around in when you're
in this process and it starts coming comes out and then you're free more free
and then you realize the value of the bhakti you know and then you hold on to
that hold on to the internal potency see the idea is like you said you felt some

pure devotional potency and energy so this happens with sada Sunday what
you're doing here is a rare opportunity for people to get purified you know on a
mass scale actually we could have millions of people watching and chanting
with us and all of this it will start the process going millions you know so
the potentials here it almost looks the same kind of tricky makes us think that
purification in my are the same yeah yeah it looks like that that's why

understand this value but they don't chant in association of devotees the
that's because you know we get to externally drawn and then the chanting
becomes unattractive so so the help is associating with devotees who are there
minds are internally drawn to the internal potency it's great help it's

practices I could see those four exalted personalities who came to rescue me see
and now you know his spiritual practices was not really necessarily being a
Brahman what rescued him was chanting the holy names that like you know the
Lord is so merciful you know whether you're a Brahmin with your sudra when
you're an outcast if whoever takes to the chanting the
holy name and the association of devotees who like to chant or whose
minds are drawn on to the internal potency see they're the ones who are
really fortunate not the ones who are you know in any mode even in the mode of
goodness they're not as fortunate as those
who are in the anymore I mean this is coming you know the Lord is you know if
we're not happy with the way the Lord set it up I mean the you know even Jesus
preached about this Jesus also preached he talked about you know like the
servants who have been with the Lord for a long time and everything got jealous
because somebody from you know been sinful their whole lives and they just
turn their attention to God and the Lord invites them into the big feast just
like everybody else
that's how it is those who take the association of devotees even if they're
in the lowest classes and they chant and then turn their minds to the internal
potency get more mercy than a perfect Brahman who doesn't do that who has just
into rules regulations and all that but does not take the association of those

they will get the shelter quickly and the others until they learn that lesson

that's why these books were written their Lord knew that the devotees who

books to give devotees Association
and those devotees get powerful in their in their taking shelter that they want
to reach out and help other devotees get the shelter because otherwise there's
really no shelter in this world my is just it's her gain here and it becomes
the lord's game on the spiritual potency that when the devotees are out active
and preaching devotional principles

therefore I shall not fall victim again to the false Awards of material sense
gratification so you know we just stay in an association of devotees they like
to understand this and then you have like a little bubble of protection you
know it's like an oasis in this desert of the material existence
everybody is meditating on different things everything other than the bhakti
potency now right now i have that i have become fixed in the absolute truth ends
for it i shall not identify myself in the body so you know that's that's what
we're trying to come to is this being fixed in what is true fixed in what is
truth fixed in what is eternal okay then what no this is our practice and then
experiencing that more and more and more the result of being fixed in marriages
is a happiness greater than anything in this world and then you know when they
enter this body you can be like an ardent movie you know another movie is
going all over the universe you see so many different aspects of the Mayas
everywhere it every day but he's fixed in Bakke know this is reality
and therefore you can go anywhere he is traveling like a space now you know
everywhere here and there and everywhere he goes into this universe into other
material universes and preaches the glories of bhakti because bhakti is the
only real thing in any of the universes devotion then the lawyer is the only
real thing devotional is the greatest way to attain the Lord devotion reveals
God see that's being fixed in the truth this goes there chants and in ecstasy
like this therefore he has the power to go anywhere without being bewildered
