Mom Posts Photo Of Stepfather And Daughter, But The Internet Is Thrown Off By Her Caption

"They aren't related by blood, but they are daddy and daughter.

My husband goes above and beyond to take care of her as his own.

When she needs him, he's there," Karisa Smith wrote.

She is referring to her husband and her daughter, who are not of the same blood but act as though

they are connected in an inseparable way.

"We don't use the term 'step father.'

He is her father.

When he fell in love with me, he fell in love with my daughter.

He took on a 9-month-old and she is now soon to be 3 years old.

And is the ultimate daddy's girl," she continued.

The two have been absolutely locked in together ever since they met.

Karisa explains that she doesn't believe that the term Step Father should be used as

it holds a negative connotation.

With the term father, it represents someone that is there for their child no matter what.

Someone who is there to support and love the child regardless of the situation.

This photo is of the two who are resting with each other and loving each other unconditionally.

In the picture, Karisa's husband had been away at work for fourteen days.

Her daughter was really anxious and upset because she missed her father.

This is what he did to calm her down, by sneaky out and coming home just to love and support

the little girl.

"They are two peas in a pod and the love of a father runs deep.

So deep, he has decided to adopt her and the adoption is in the process.

They will soon be 'officially' daddy and daughter," she added.

After this, many people in the same situation reached out to Karisa and shared their stories,

saying that their "step" father, or father to them, were closer than they ever could

have imagined.

They were there for support on good days and bad, and that created the fatherly connection

they had always longed for.

"Our world revolves around these girls; we love them so much equally.

We have never used the term step father or step child, it never sat right with us.

We have OUR children and he is their DADDY," Smith said.

Most stepfathers get a bad reputation for their role in a family.

They can be an amazing influence on their step child and can offer some amazing things

including support and love to children who need that more than anything.

This one is for all of the step dads who make the difference in their children's lives.

You all rock!

China pledges North Korea crackdown but says 'friendship remains essential for peace' - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 3:05.

China pledges North Korea crackdown but says 'friendship remains essential for peace'

CHINA has vowed to clamp down on North Korea by strictly enforcing trade sanctions but

said the friendship between the two countries was vital for peace in the region.

The United States and its allies believe Beijing should do more to rein in Pyongyang but Kim

Jong-un's recent nuclear and missile tests have coincided with a near-total breakdown

of high-level diplomacy between the two.

China, Pyongyang's sole major ally, said it would observe United Nations Security Council

sanctions banning imports of coal, textiles and seafood, while cutting off oil shipments

to the North.

China accounts for more than 90 percent of world trade with the isolated country.

Guo Yezhou, a deputy head of the Chinese Communist Party's international department, told reporters

on the sidelines of a party congress that its exchanges, communication and dialogue

with the North's ruling Workers' Party of Korea were continuing.

He said: "China and North Korea are neighbours and the two have a traditional friendly co-operative

relationship."

He said maintaining, developing and consolidating those ties not only accord with both sides'

interests, they also have "important meaning" for regional peace and stability.

And he stressed exchanges between the two parties play an important role in developing

overall China-North Korea relations.

Mr Guo said: "Our party and the Workers' Party of Korea have traditional friendly exchanges.

"When and at what level these exchanges happen depend on both sides need and both

sides' convenience."

North Korea has congratulated China on its 19th Communist Party Congress despite the

increasingly frayed relationships.

Though China has been angered by North Korea's repeated nuclear and missile tests and demanded

they stop, Beijing also sees the United States and South Korea sharing responsibility for

rising tensions with their military drills.

North Korea is likely to be at high on the agenda when United States President Donald

Trump visits China next month for talks with President Xi Jinping.

Kill Yourself, but it's TOO EASY! - Duration: 3:04.

*Lyrics by Bo Burnham*

Have you ever felt sad or lonely?

Have you ever felt two feet tall?

Have you ever thought, "Man, if only

I was anybody else at all."

They like to kick you when times get rough

And you give your all, but it's not enough...

And sticks and stones might break your bones

But words can break your heart

And if you don't know where to go

I'll show you where to start

Kill yourself

It'll only take a minute

You'll be happy that you did it

Just go over to your oven and shove your head in it

Kill yourself

Really, you should do it

There's really nothing to it

Just grab a mug and chug a cup of lighter fluid

(okay, now)

(I feel like you've pulled back)

(Maybe it's on account of the fact I'm telling you to kill yourself over and over again)

(I'm just trying to make a simple point)

(That these... That life's toughest problems don't have simple answers...)

(You shouldn't just be brave, you shouldn't just roar...)

(You shouldn't kill yourself...)

(But I understand that...)

(It's a sensitive subject and you're probably hearing me say that...)

(And I've dealt with-, I don't wanna be insens-, look)

I sound un-empathetic, I sound mean and rude

Suicide is an epidemic

And I don't want to be misconstrued

Signs of depression go overlooked

So if you're depressed

Then you need to book a therapy session

Talk about your depression

Let a professional hear it

But if you search for moral wisdom

In Katy Perry's lyrics, then

Kill yourself, it won't be painful

If you are able

To give a little kiss to an oncoming train, you'll

Kill yourself, it's over, mull it

There's a trigger, pull it

Get it through your head, "it" being a bullet

Stick your tongue in a plug

Suck a pipe of exhaust

Make some toast in the tub

Nail yourself to a cross

Hold your breath till it's gone

Drink a gallon of mace

Be gay in Iran

Let Oprah sit on your face

Jump off of a bridge

Skinny dip in a flood

Sky dive attached to a fridge

Drink a Haitian guy's blood

Break into the zoo

Give a tiger a shove

Eat a Phillips head screw

Marry Courtney Love...

Raqqa has fallen, but ISIS isn't going away - Duration: 4:30.

HARI SREENIVASAN: Today in Syria, forces trained and supported by the United States declared

victory in the city of Raqqa, the self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State.

Beginning in June, Kurdish and Arab fighters had fought a brutal house-by-house battle,

backed up by punishing airstrikes launched by the American-led coalition.

Now that the battle is over, what's next for the war in Syria and for is?

Here's special correspondent Nick Schifrin.

NICK SCHIFRIN: After four years of is, this is liberation.

Kurdish fighters flashed V for victory in what was the heart of ISIS' power.

But from above, after four months of fighting, Raqqa is ruined.

In order to save the city, the U.S. destroyed it, says Times of London reporter Richard

Spencer, who was in Raqqa this week.

RICHARD SPENCER, Times of London: The whole city was completely empty.

Every single house or apartment block or shop or industrial unit had been basically knocked

to the ground by airstrikes.

The coalition air forces went through the city building by building, and nothing is

really left standing.

NICK SCHIFRIN: The U.S. dropped tens of thousands of pounds of bombs.

The U.N. estimates 80 percent of the city is uninhabitable.

Hassan Hassan is a senior fellow at the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy.

HASSAN HASSAN, Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy: They wanted basically to turn

ISIS territories into a killing box.

But that came at the expense of civilians.

This is not what we expected the end would look like.

We wanted this moment to be a moment of celebration.

NICK SCHIFRIN: For years, ISIS described control of territory the size of Portugal as proof

of its power.

Is collected taxes and released propaganda videos depicting moral police as neighborhood

cops.

Now it has a plan to revert to its roots and go back underground, predicts former Deputy

Assistant Secretary of Defense Andrew Exum.

ANDREW EXUM, Former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense: They're not all going

to go away, and we should be prepared for them to transition from having been a state-like

entity into an insurgency, which, of course, is what they were before the declaration of

the Islamic State.

NICK SCHIFRIN: ISIS doesn't need land to use propaganda to spread ideology.

It can continue to recruit online to launch terrorism, like the August van attack in Barcelona.

And in Syria, it's down, but not out.

The Syrian government is fighting ISIS in nearby Deir el-Zour.

ISIS still controls 4,000 square miles in Syria and Iraq.

And there's no easy way to target its remaining 6,000 or so fighters.

The group is wounded, but its wisdom has grown.

HASSAN HASSAN: It has more experience in fighting and in kind of exploiting the political environment

and the social division and so on and so forth.

We have an environment that allows for groups like ISIS and others to arise and flourish

and sustain themselves in these areas.

NICK SCHIFRIN: That's because, in Syria, there's no political solution in sight, no reconstruction

or reconciliation or reform.

Tens of thousands of Syrians fled their homes and are now living in camps.

Shia President Bashar al-Assad, backed by Russia and Iran, has made no concessions to

his Sunni opponents.

ANDREW EXUM: The Assad regime is not going to change its nature, and they're going to

continue to antagonize a Sunni Arab majority in Syria that could absolutely continue to

create the conditions that would allow groups like Nusra or the Islamic State to arise or

to come back.

NICK SCHIFRIN: ISIS has long exploited that political resentment. and so long as the resentment

remains, ISIS will still have sympathizers.

But the U.S. priority is not fixing Syria.

It's exclusively defeating ISIS, which leads critics to argue the U.S. and its allies in

Raqqa might have succeed tactically, but still have no strategy.

HASSAN HASSAN: The problem is that there is always that short-term thinking that defines

American foreign policy, especially not paying attention to the grievances and also the environment

that led to the rise of groups like ISIS.

NICK SCHIFRIN: There's no doubt this week marks a milestone.

The square that once hosted ISIS beheadings hosted that Kurdish celebration.

The children ISIS recruited in Raqqa, their minds not old enough to resist propaganda,

now safe in nearby shelters.

And Raqqa's women embraced their female liberators, and shed subjugation.

But there's a lot of work left.

And the very political and regional problems that helped launched this war still exist.

For the "PBS NewsHour," I'm Nick Schifrin.

Arsenal legend Paul Merson makes debut for Welsh side – but it does not go to plan

But his return was struck by disaster as a technical malfunction threatened to curtail the evening's action with the home side leading 3-2 against rivals Pontyclun at the Caerau Athletic Ground on Wednesday night.

All four of the floodlights unexpectedly shut down midway through the game, plunging on side of the ground into darkness. Despite the best efforts of staff at Welsh Division Three club, the lights could not be restored to working order.

Paul Merson made his debut for Caerau FC this week.

Although some floodlights remained functional, the referee deemed conditions unsafe for the players to continue, choosing to abandon the action instead.

Footage shot by a fan shows the former Arsenal midfielder donning the club's blue kit as he patrolled the centre circle at pedestrian pace, watching on while the action unfolded around him.

Merse did manage to make a mark on the game however, providing a curling cross that caused pandemonium in the Pontyclun defence before the ball was eventually turned in.

The 49-year-old also starred for England in the Star Sixes tournament earlier this year.

The 49-year-old's former club were in action last night in the Europa League, needing a dramatic late intervention from Olivier Giroud to snatch a 1-0 victory away at Red Star Belgrade.

The Frenchman notched another eye-catching strike with an overhead kick – but it was Jack Wilshere who stole the plaudits after an impressive showing from the heart of midfield.

Arsene Wenger's men travel to Goodison Park on Sunday to take on struggling Everton.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West burgled as thief trashes three cars but leaves with nearly nothing

Kim and Kanye have been burgled at their Bel Air home – but the perpetrators left with almost nothing. The burglar ransacked three of the couples luxury cars, before being caught on camera making his getaway.

It is reported by TMZ that the criminal left almost empty-handed – however at least one of the perpetrators has been caught by the couples razor-sharp CCTV systems.

The burglar never entered the home, and made his exit with just an iPhone which belonged to one of the couples members of staff. It is reported that surveillance offers chased the criminal off the property.

Metro. uk has contacted reps for Kim and Kanye for comment.

Man Utd play down deal being close for Mesut Ozil but are keen on Arsenal star - report

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Gunners playmaker which would see him reunited with Jose Mourinho.

The pair worked together at Real Madrid and it appears Germany international Ozil is keen on teaming up again in 2018.

With his contract running down at the Emirates, the 29-year-old has reportedly told Arsenal team-mates he will go to United.

While Ozil seems confident a deal will be done, United are not so concrete over the player's future.

According to The Gambling Times, sources close to the Red Devils have played down suggestions an agreement is close.

However, it is claimed United are in the mix to land Ozil.

The Arsenal attacker can speak with clubs from January with Mourinho's side free to make a move ahead of the summer.

Alternatively, though, Arsene Wenger may sell the Germany international in the New Year, having only sparingly used him this season.

Wenger revealed last week he is considering offloading Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in January to save losing them for free.

And United have time to sort out a deal in the run up to the New Year.

Although, The Gambling Times add United face competition from PSG, Bayern Munich and Juventus who are keen too.

Ozil was offered a new contract to extend his Arsenal stay, but following his form this term that is set to be revised with an exit most likely.

No Limits: Renault Koleos Signature looks the part but distracting kit spoils drive - Duration: 7:03.

No Limits: Renault Koleos Signature looks the part but distracting kit spoils drive

STYLISH: The new Renault Koleos Signature dCi 175 4x4 X-Tronic.

I'd been to buy some trawlerfresh haddock…but that's another story. The Grimsby bit isn't pivotal to this tale but it's A) a very long way from my house and B) I figure it needs an often overlooked name-check.

The time was 2pm and the leaden sky as dark as squid ink, the rain hammering against the windscreen. Automatic gearbox, automatic windscreen and headlight activation, active cruise control deployed.

At this moment I was suddenly aware I'd completely forgotten what I was driving. A glance around the cabin and the Renault logo on the steering wheel reminded me. .

RIVALS: The new car is a direct competitor for Ford's Edge, Volvo's XC60 and Kia's Sportage.

Ah yes, a Renault Koleos Signature dCi 175 4x4 X-Tronic. But it's not Renault's fault – it's the same largely forgettable driving experience offered by all the opposition SUVs.

The new Koleos, effectively a Nissan X-Trail with new clothes, is a direct competitor for Ford's Edge, Volvo's XC60, Kia's Sportage, Hyundai's Santa Fe, Honda CR-V, the Land Rover Freelander, Peugeot 5008…shall I carry on to further make my point that this soft-roader marketplace is a crowded one? Some of the above offer a seven-seat option.

You know, those two seats at the back which place your precious young kids in the vulnerable rear crumple zone? Renault have decided not to offer this sacrificial seat option on Koleos and have instead decided to focus on interior space.

NICE: The new Renault is airy, roomy, with good visibility and reasonable ergonomics inside. It's pretty nice inside, if slightly anonymous – airy, roomy, good visibility, reasonable ergonomics and a high level of standard equipment.

Like all the Koleos' competitors, there's a maddeningly distracting central screen to control the basic functions like stopping your windscreen steaming up. Hmmm.

Demanding a driver takes their eyes off the road ahead to operate the basics…how is this not more distracting than using a phone at the wheel? I drove to Grimsby across country using a mixture of roads which made me wish I was driving something lower, with less body-roll, less weight transference between power on and brakes on and sharper steering.

The Koleos' suspension settings make the best of a high roll-centre, 1.6 tonnes of cake and 19in 55-profile tyres, but over Lincolnshire's worst Tarmac I wouldn't describe the experience as pleasant.

SPEEDY: The Koleos has a top speed of up to 125mph. I could angle the same criticism at any of its rivals, though. Through towns I found the hill-start assist intrusive.

On twisty roads the lane departure warning produces a kind of farting noise in the audio speakers. Annoying when you can safely use both sides of a twisty road.

Turning it off involves navigating the faffing central screen menus and risking a due care and attention charge. Coming back I stuck to motorways and dual carriageways, which was an improvement.

The £600 option Bose hi-fi is a standout feature with seven crisp speakers and a powerful sub-woofer. The day's MPG average? 33.1 at a very steady lick – not quite the 47.9 quoted in the official figures.

The Koleos' USP appears to be the amount of kit it offers for the price against its rivals. It is no better or worse to drive, no better or worse to look at, either inside or out.

Would you buy one? I guess that depends on how much you like or dislike your local Renault dealer or how much you like the car's looks.

This crossover SUV market, after all, is purely about the looks and the driveway image. It's definitely not about the joy of driving, that's for sure. The haddock, incidentally, was well worth the trip.

Fact File Price: £36,610 as tested Engine: 1,995cc, four-cyl turbo diesel Power: 175PS Torque: 380Nm Top Speed: 125mph 0-62 mph: 9.5secs Economy: 33.1mpg average CO2: 156g/km For: Easy to drive Against: Price of three-bed, Grimsby semi Sum Up: Fresh thinking needed.

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were pally at Laver Cup... but this is truth between them - Duration: 3:19.

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were pally at Laver Cup... but this is truth between them

Nadal and Federer played doubles with one another at the inaugural Laver Cup last month as Team Europe turned over the Rest of the World.

Nadal ran on court and embraced Federer as he eat Nick Kyrgios to win it - then they went to being fierce enemies on the court weeks later.

The pair are battling it out to finish the year as no.1 with Federer beating Nadal in the Shanghai Masters on Sunday.

While Nadal leads the rankings by 1,960 points, Federer has the upperhand when the pair play one abother having won the last five in a row.

On their rivalry, Law told the Tennis Podcast: This final - and the manner of the victory, and the way it was exactly the same as Indian Wells and Miami - it makes you think Federer is absolutely thrashing him now and its not even close.

They look like they are on a different level when they are playing against each other.   I did read quotes from the Nadal camp that the year isnt over yet and theyre not done yet.

It was interesting to read the desperation.

I know they were all pally at the Laver Cup but the desperation for Nadal to beat Federer before the end of this year, or at the Australian Open, hes going to be just drooling at the thought of that.   needs to finish strong in Basel next week, Paris and then London to have any chance of overturning Nadal to end top of the standings.

Law added: Nadal desperately wants to finish as world no.1 and I think hed probably savour it more.

I think it matters more in the context of his year but I think Federer is just a different character.   He is playing to his own rules and his own mind.

Nadal likes things to have a logical appearance to them and having a calendar year and seeing where he ends up makes sense to him.

What must be hard for him to swallow is hes spend his entire career having a winning record over Federer but Federer gets more of the headlines as an all-time great.

Nadal this year has won more points yet Federer has won more matches against him in a row. It ends up being a debate..

Mark Wright puts on American 'twang' leaving Essex behind but sister Jess defends him

Fans of Extra TV might have noticed something a bit different about Mark Wright during his recent interview with Liam Neeson. Nope, not tighter trousers, but his new yankee twang.

Yes, viewers have spotted a distinct change in Marks usual Essex tone whilst he interviewed the Taken actor.

As the pair bonded over their favourite kind of trousers, fans were busy concentrating on just what was going on with his accent – had he really become that acclimatised since moving to LA in May?     But sister Jess told The Sun that her brothers new accent is probably just to cater to American audiences.

I think he has got to cater for the English and the Americans so I guess he has to put on a bit of a twang.

I dont think hes doing it for effect, I think hes genuinely doing it so when American people watch it they understand him.   Mark has admitted that after he got the job on Extra he started taking elocution lessons.

He previously told his Extra co-host Mario Lopez: It's just to neutralise my accent.

I speak quite regional, so if I was going to invite you to the pub this is how I would usually do it to my friends.        .
