Big Brother: 15 Rules All Guests Have To Follow.

While it may be shown in many different countries with many different casts, there are a few

things that are true about Big Brother no matter where it is shown.

A collection of interesting people get sealed inside a house together for a pre-determined

length of time.

They have to join forces, betray each other, take part in humiliating tasks, and above

all win the approval of the voting public.

As they are voted off one by one, only one can be the eventual winner.

While they are in the house, as well as having all of those things to contend with, house

guests also have to follow a set of rules.

There is a core list of rules written by the originators of Big Brother, and several countries

have added their own modifications to make it more interesting or make up for previous

situations that went wrong.

Those rules dictate every move of the housemates while they are on the show, and can even control

what they do after they are voted out.

No matter who you are, you have to abide by the rules.

If you don't, you will be called into the diary room – and from there you will face

your punishment.

Some contestants have even been kicked off the show after breaking the rules – so this

is serious business.

Big Brother won't accept any mistakes, and while there are a few rules that will only

give you a ticking off the first time, all of them will get you in a lot of trouble.

1.

They Aren't Allowed To Play Games.

It seems as though the producers also have a problem with the contestants playing games.

While it would probably be quite entertaining to see them getting competitive with one another

and having fun, it's not something that they will ever be allowed to do.

The list of items that Housemates are not allowed to bring in with them includes the

following entries: "Games of any description; Any ready made games including playing cards."

It's odd that they have to specify it twice.

Perhaps there was a contestant or two who figured that they would be able to bring playing

cards in because they aren't technically a specific game, but rather a tool for playing

various games or doing other things.

That would put a dampener on any magicians entering the house, for sure!

It seems a shame that they can't entertain themselves while in the house, and have to

stick to the games presented by the show.

2.

They Can't Know The Time.

Weirdly enough, there are rules about the Housemates not being allowed to keep track

of time.

Perhaps it's because it adds to their social isolation and leads to interesting effects,

but whatever the case, they aren't allowed to keep items with them that tell the time

in any way.

From the list of prohibited items are these entries: "Calendars of any kind; Timepieces

of any description."

Since they aren't allowed writing materials either, it's not as if they would be able

to write down the date and figure things out that way.

It's a little creepy in a way, to think of their experience being controlled so tightly

– the producers could trick them into thinking time had passed or that they had been there

for a longer or shorter time than they really had.

If it wasn't for the garden and access to daylight, they would be totally controlled.

3.

They Have To Pretend They're Not Actors.

Yes, that's right – most of the contestants on Big Brother tend to be actors, or at least

'personalities' who have tried to get on every television show out there.

Both on the celebrity version and the normal version, there are plenty of people who were

headhunted by casting directors or nominated by their agents.

In order to maintain the illusion, no one is allowed to talk about that fact.

The rules say, "It is also strictly against the rules to discuss any members of the production

team, agents or the booking process.

Housemates may not discuss their fees."

We suspect that last part is in there to ensure that there aren't any riots when half of

the housemates find out that they are being severely underpaid.

After all, they could just not show these conversations if they didn't want to – they

obviously don't want the Housemates themselves to find out about the others.

4.

They Must Wake Up When Called.

Housemates are woken up in the morning by an alarm.

Well, we say the morning – it can actually be any time that the producers wish, such

as in the middle of the night or the afternoon.

In order to keep things interesting, they won't allow anyone to sleep in: "Big Brother

will wake Housemates each morning with an alarm.

When the alarm sounds, Housemates must wake and sit up.

The alarm will continue until all Housemates are awake and either sitting up or out of

bed.

The time at which the alarm is sounded is entirely at Big Brother's discretion and

may vary from day to day.

If Housemates fall asleep in the daytime, Big Brother will sound the alarm until all

Housemates are awake."

You might have thought it was annoying to share a room in college or have your spouse's

alarm going off on your day off – this has to be a million times worse.

5.

They Have To Adhere To The Wardrobe Policy.

While it's important to look your best, you can't bring just anything into the Big

Brother house.

You have to choose clothing which is acceptable to be shown on television, and if you don't,

you might find your suitcase a little bit lighter.

The rules say, "While living in the House you may not: wear clothes with prominent commercial

logos, branding or copyrighted images; or clothes that are intended to send a message

to friends or colleagues in the outside world.

If you take an item of clothing into the House that is later deemed to have too prominent

a logo, Big Brother may decide to remove the item for the duration of your stay in the

House.

In addition, Housemates may not wear items of clothing that have thin stripes on them

as they can interfere with the cameras causing a strobing effect."

Well, that last one's definitely fair!

6.

They Can't Go Exploring.

After being inside the house for so long, sometimes, housemates want to go out and explore

a bit more.

They may decide to go on some sort of escapade which involves showing off their climbing

skills – and even getting a view of the rest of the neighborhood.

This isn't on, however, and the producers ban it.

They say: "It is also against the rules to climb on any part of the House, which includes

scaling walls or attempting to climb on the roof – this is for the health and safety

of Housemates."

Well, that and the fact that they may be able to receive secret messages this way.

A few housemates have tried to scale the house, incidentally, and usually with the intention

of escaping, since the front door is actually kept locked all day unless it is time for

someone to be evicted.

Housemates have to request to be let out if they want to leave that way.

7.

They Have To Look After The House.

Spending a few weeks on holiday in a house that isn't yours, competing for cash and

the chance to be recognized across the nation, sounds like a pretty good deal.

You can just lounge around, have fun doing the challenges and tasks, and let everyone

else take care of anything that needs to be done.

Right?

Well, no.

The rules state that the house has to be kept in good condition, and not by an army of secret

cleaners – by the housemates themselves.

"It is Housemates' responsibility to look after the House, garden and their contents,"

say the rules.

"Items within the House should be kept in working order.

It will be up to the discretion of Big Brother whether or not to replace items that are broken

or damaged.

All furniture and fittings have been positioned in the House by Big Brother and should not

be moved."

My Thoughts on Aging, Style & Going Gray + Inspirational People I Follow - Duration: 10:09.

[Audio Length: 0:10:08] RECORDING COMMENCES:

Rajka Hayden: Hello friends.

Thank you so much for tuning in.

I'm getting ready to celebrate a birthday soon and it's made me think a little bit

about aging and style and how aging and style relate to one another.

I'm going to share a little bit of my feelings and thoughts around that today on the channel.

But first, thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it so much.

If you are a regular viewer, I love you, thank you.

channel, thank you, if you haven't subscribed, please do, it's the button, it's free,

it means everything to me.

We are also on social media, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, @Thedressupmom, #Thedressupmom.

As I said, I'm getting ready to celebrate a birthday, I'm going to be 56-years-old

in a couple of days.

I'm one of those weird people that really doesn't mind getting older.

I kind of like whatever age I am, and I've never really had this feeling to want to be

younger, or even necessarily to want to look younger.

Now, that's not to say that I definitely believe that at any age you want to try to

look your best.

You want to stay healthy.

I'm a big yogi, I walk, I've always been somebody who's active and wanted to keep

my body in the best shape as possible.

As I get older, that gets a little bit harder, but I think it's even more important.

I think staying current and knowing what's out there in the way of style and fashion

is also helpful, not that you want to chase every trend.

But, remaining current to me, is also important.

I don't necessarily mind aging and looking my age, I just don't want to look dated,

I guess is the term.

I'm mostly concerned about looking dated.

I think I'm also kind of rare in that I don't mind going gray.

I am going gray now.

I'm going gray slowly, you can see I have salt and pepper-ish stuff going on in my hair

here.

It definitely looks more gray or more brunette, depending on the light.

But, I'm just not a person who likes coloring hair, I never have been and I think gray hair

is kind of beautiful.

I really almost wish that my hair was more gray.

Now, I'm hoping that this conversation is going to get you all leaving comments and

talking to me a little about your experiences, because I really kind of feel like this half

and half gray is almost harder than if I was all gray for some reason.

Picking color for clothes and all of that this half and half stage is a little weird.

But I don't mind it, I've liked it all along and I think I'm going to enjoy as

it gets grayer as well.

I do find it a little bit interesting though, that I'm literally the only person in my

group of friends and social friends, and even people at work, there are a couple at work,

but very few people who don't dye their hair.

I'm one of the only people I know my age that doesn't dye her hair.

I have gotten, over the years, some real sort of peer pressure almost to dye my hair, especially

from family members and others.

I'm a pretty strong person and know what I like, but I have to say, if I wasn't I

probably would just dye my hair because of the peer pressure of it.

I've also never really minded being different, so I'm kind of okay that I'm the only

50+ woman in a room that has some gray hair.

It's very interesting and I've been about it a lot more lately and I just wonder why

it is.

I don't know.

One thing I've found with letting my hair going a little bit grayer, I think it's

even more important to keep a pretty modern cut with that.

I recently got my hair cut again, into a new cut, I like this little French bob with some

fringe.

I have a great stylist who helps keep me modern.

I used to wear my hair long for most of my life, kind of shoulder length and up here

and sort of all one length, I have good, nice hair I always have and it's wavy.

About three years ago, I just got sick of it, I was also going through hot flashes and

this big head of hair felt so hot, so I just chopped it off into a short little pixie,

which was very different for me.

I loved it.

I really loved wearing my pixie for the longest time and doing different things with it.

But then I find I definitely get bored with hair, so I like to switch it up.

Definitely cutting my hair that short, has made me much more adventurous in what I'm

doing with my hair styles since then.

Because, again, going from that drastic change and having it be okay and liking my hair at

all different stages of growing out, it's really been kind of fun.

Another thing that I've noticed as I age, is that I'm much more adventurous with my

style and with what I wear and what I'm comfortable wearing.

I don't know, I've always been adventurous with my clothes, even from high school on,

I've always like to kind of push the edge a little bit.

I love fashion, so combing things differently has always been fun.

If I think back on it though, during my 30s and 40s I was much more conservative and really

not as fun with what I was wearing.

I think that's for a number of reasons.

I was raising kids, I was busy, we were doing things like going to sporting events and school

stuff with the kids, which doesn't lend itself as much to having fun, I've always

tried to do that with my work clothes, but definitely noticed since I turned 50, I'm

kind of like, who cares.

If I like it, if I want to wear it, if it makes me feel good, I'm going to do it and

I'm getting more and more adventurous with my clothes and having a lot more fun with

them.

Certainly, that's one of the reasons that I started the channel, is to really explore

that a little bit more in myself and hope that it will inspire some others to do it

as well.

Throughout all of this, I think it does help having a really supportive husband and kids

who don't make me feel weird about what I'm wearing and how I'm always changing

my hair and doing all this kind of this stuff.

There have been a couple of times when my husband, Doug, has been like, "You're

doing that?

You're wearing that?"

And I've had a lot of fun telling him, "You know what honey, if you think this is bad,

I just plan on getting wackier with what I wear as I get older, so I hope you're okay

with it."

Along the way here lately, I have found some inspiration from other YouTubers, Instagramers,

social influencers that are of a little bit more advanced age.

I'm going to tell you a couple of those and I would love to hear that there are people

that inspire you as well.

One is Monique Parent.

She is a fellow YouTuber and this beautiful Hollywood actress that started her video when

she was going gray, she has a beautiful head of gray hair and she is just a hoot and so

much fun to work.

One of my favorite people I follow on Instagram is Ari Cohn, he goes by advancedstyle.

He is a photographer who goes out and photographs women that are advanced.

I mean older women, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, it's so inspirational to see what these

women are wearing, how great they look.

They take lots of risks and it's something that I enjoy following and viewing every day

to see what's going on, on the advancedstyle.

I will put links to all of these and information on all of these people in the description

below too.

Another one, I really can't pronounce her name, it's something like tziporahsalamon,

she's fantastic, she has such great style, she loves hats.

I love watching and seeing what she's wearing every single day.

I follow Greymodelagency out of the UK that hires people of an older age for modeling,

which is very inspirational.

That would be so much to do.

There's also antiquegoddess, she's a hoot.

Tamerabeardsley and brendakinsel.

I also follow a couple of the 80s super models, Kim Alexis and Nancy Donohue, I find them

very inspirations too and to see how they're aging really beautifully.

Also, Dawngallagher and Annbezamat, I think.

Anne is an ex French model, they put some great things up too.

Those are just a few people that I follow recently that have given me some inspiration.

Again, I'm sure there are many others.

I do find it's fun to see what other people around my age are doing and how they're

enjoying themselves as they age, aging beautifully and still staying very stylish and fun.

Well, my friends, I think that's it for this time.

Again, I would love to know how you feel about aging, what you do to keep inspired.

If you think what I'm saying is just a crock, put that in there too.

I just wanted to talk about this today.

I'm looking forward to another year of being older, hopefully wiser, having a little bit

more fun with my style every year.

Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate it so much.

Until next time, have fun and dress it up a little.
