Transfer Vehicle Registration - Duration: 4:11.

During this video we will show you how to transfer your IRP registration from

one vehicle to another, also known as a supplement.

If a vehicle is out of service or sold, the IRP plan does not allow a refund on the vehicle.

Instead you may want to transfer the IRP registration from the old vehicle to new vehicle.

The credits for the old vehicle can be transferred to the new vehicle.

You can use the current plate or request a new one.

Once the transfer is completed, a temporary cab card is issued.

The permanent cab card is mailed out the day after payment is made.

You can easily process this in the convenient online Wisconsin Carrier Registration System

(or WisCRS).

Simply log into your WisCRS account and go to the IRP menu.

Click on "Manage Vehicle."

Next, click on "Transfer Vehicle Registration."

On this screen indicate the date you want the transfer to be effective, the vehicles

registration year, and the unit number of the unit you are transferring out of your

fleet.

There is no need to type in the VIN number.

Remember, the registration year is the year that your IRP registration ends.

Then hit "Continue."

Next enter the VIN number of the new vehicle.

Make sure you are looking at the title or the certificate of origin to ensure you're

entering the correct number.

Do not put in the year or make unless the VIN number is less than 17 digits.

The make and year of the unit you are adding will appear on the screen.

Then hit "Transfer Vehicle Registration."

Choose a number or letters that you would like to use to identify your unit.

Choose a weight group from the dropdown box.

If the weight group you need doesn't appear call Motor Carrier Services to have a new

weight group created.

Indicate the unladen weight.

The weight of the power unit only plus a full tank of fuel.

Pick the type of vehicle from the drop down arrow.

(Examples are: Tractor Trailer, Bus, Tow Truck, etc.).

Indicate if you purchased a new or used vehicle.

If it is a truck (TK) and it is not pulling a trailer, please select "No" from the dropdown

arrow where is says "Truck with full trailer."

If your unit is a tractor trailer it will automatically default to yes.

"Colorado travel" means that if you operate in Colorado and if the vehicle operates less

than 10,000 total miles nationally, then you choose "Yes" from the dropdown.

Utah special truck: If your truck is a cement pump, well-boring unit or crane, choose "Yes"

from the drop down.

Record the number of axles on the power unit only.

If it is a bus, indicate the number of seats.

Verify or change the "Titled owner name."

Indicate purchase date, purchase price.

If you do not know the factory price just indicate the purchase price again in that

field.

Verify that the safety carriers DOT number and tax ID are correct.

If you anticipate changing the safety carrier, indicate "Yes" from the dropdown.

Comments are for your use only and are not required.

Now click "Confirm."

Review information.

If something is incorrect you have the option to modify.

Select "Continue."

You can either transfer another vehicle or complete the supplement.

You can now generate your billing notice and also print the temporary vehicle registration

to use until the permanent cab card arrives in the mail.

A permanent cab card and/or plates will not be mailed out until payment is made.

As a reminder, once this supplement has been completed, you can pay by going back into

the IRP menu and select "Pay Supplement or 1st Installment."
