Youtube daily we Apr 26 2018

Our penguin colony is part of a bigger story.

Our penguins hatched in zoos and aquariums.

They're part of a nationwide effort

to save this endangered species.

African penguins in the wild are in trouble.

Overfishing and a warming ocean

are making it hard for penguins to find food.

Staffer Aimee is lending a hand in South Africa

saving sick, injured and abandoned penguins.

Rescuing penguins is hard work!

Hundreds of hungry birds need hours of TLC...

Prepare fish.

Feed fish.

Rinse

Repeat!

All that hard work is worth it for this moment.

Dedicated volunteers in South Africa

have helped save over 5,000 penguins!

Back at home, we call that a peng-win!

Do We Have the Right to Die? - Duration: 28:31.

Commencing in the 5th century BC, and emanating

from ancient Greece, physicians as they entered

their medical career took an oath.

Does this still guide medical practice

in the new paradigm of medically assisted death?

The Hippocratic Oath is traced to a greatly

respected physician of the day named Hippocrates.

It is still an oath taken by young medical graduates

as they begin their roles as physicians.

A portion of the oath reads as follows:

While young doctors in various medical schools

still take this oath, many governments are passing

legislation that would permit, and in some cases require,

a doctor to prescribe or administer

a treatment that would end a life.

Such laws allow or force medical staff to expand

their services from assisting the sick to recover,

to assisting in the killing of a patient.

There are many who view this service as right,

needed by those who are suffering severely

and have no hope of recovery.

They view it as an act of mercy.

Others feel passionately that legalizing a procedure

to terminate the lives of the suffering

as a devaluation of human life, and fear that in the future

such can be used to eliminate the need to care

for the elderly, the severely disabled

and the vulnerable of society.

Who is right?

Is assisted death liberating or an impending threat?

Stay tuned!

In June 2016, the Canadian Parliament passed

legislation legalizing a framework that permitted

medically assisted dying in Canada.

Formerly, any act to assist in the suicide of another,

or even counselling a person to end their life,

was prohibited under law.

Canada has now joined several other countries

in which medically assisted death is allowed,

including several U.S. states.

While the legislation was strongly supported

by advocates it is only fair to add there were also numerous

voices in opposition.

Opponents expressed fears that these laws would place

the disabled or the other vulnerable people at risk,

when accessing medical support or treatment.

Supporters of the legislation on the other hand

are quick to point out the need and benefit

of this, now legal, approach to end

intractable suffering.

They will point out that in Canada, and most U.S.

jurisdictions that have such legislation, assisted death

only applies to people who are coherent,

able to make an informed decision, and are in an advanced

stage of a terminal illness where death

is foreseeable within six months.

Some groups see the restrictions as so comprehensive

they feel it is discriminatory against others,

who for various reasons, would also like

to pursue an action to end their lives.

In Canada the concerns over safeguards

were strongly debated.

Justice Smith of the British Columbia Supreme Court,

in evaluating a case Carter v Canada

reached the conclusion that:

In Canada in the 1990's, the case of Sue Rodriguez

brought the issue to the front pages of newspapers

across the land.

Ms. Rodriguez resided in Victoria, British Columbia.

Early in 1991 she received the devastating news

that she was afflicted with Lou Gehrig's disease,

a motor neuron disease known as ALS,

for which there is no known cure.

Faced with the prospect of an inevitable decline in health,

and the gradual loss of her ability

to function and breathe, she fought for the right

to have a legal assisted suicide under the criminal code,

eventually taking her case to the Supreme Court of Canada,

but losing in a split decision

in the fall of 1993.

Ms. Rodriguez a year later committed suicide

with the assistance of an anonymous doctor,

and in the presence of then Member of Parliament,

Svend Robinson, who had campaigned unsuccessfully

for her cause.

The case captured national attention and polarized

public opinion, starting a push for legalized

assisted suicide that was finally realized in 2016.

So now that Canada has legalized the practice

why is there still controversy?

This controversy is also present in other nations

and states that have similar enabling legislation.

So what is the problem?

Why is there still resistance to something

that appears to provide a valuable

and welcome procedure to end suffering?

There are disturbing trends noted in some countries

where assisted death has been in place

for several years.

We will cover these concerns in the second part

of our program.

But now we would like to let you know of a special

free offer, an offer that contains information

that will help you better decide what you would do,

or how you might advise a friend or loved one caught

in the dilemma of whether they should chose to control

the time of their death.

If you have not read this booklet, it is time you did,

as it contains information that will

greatly encourage you.

I shall be back in a moment.

In the first part of our program we looked at recent

legislation permitting assisted dying

which on one hand seem to be a benefit to those

who are in great suffering, but yet is of concern

to those who fear these new laws may be subject to abuse.

We have been assured by governments

that safeguards are in place to prevent abuse including

the key measures:

- There must be informed written consent

in consultations with two physicians.

- Request and consent must be given when in a state

of complete mental competence.

- There must be a suitable time to reconsider,

up to two weeks, wherein the patient can change their mind.

- No physician will be forced to provide this service.

- The patient is in a grievous state of health

with no prospect for recovery.

- The two witnesses to the request may not be anyone

who can profit from the death, either a person

who is a beneficiary or the operator

of the medical facility.

So what is there to fear?

Many in society feel the greatest danger of such

enabling legislation, does not lie

at the implementation phase, but in the gradual definition creep,

resulting in an inevitable expansion

of the eligible victims, such as cases where a person

is not mentally aware.

Is this a legitimate concern?

A CBC report entitled "Road to Mercy"

aired in August of 2017.

The intention of the program was to dispel

fears that vulnerable people would be put at risk.

The report stresses that people who are deemed

mentally ill are considered incapable

of choosing to end their lives with MAiD.

It stated,

The report went on to quote the British Colombia

Civil Liberties Association Report:

"Assisted Dying Bill: Suffering Canadians Left Behind"

which said:

If the Civil Liberties Association is correct

it is only a matter of time before the law is amended

and true mental competence may no longer

be a criterion.

The same report stated that in Belgium

and the Netherlands the right to die rules have been amended

and rights are extended to the mentally ill,

indicating that even patients suffering from dementia

have had the service provided.

Even more concerning are rumblings coming

from the financial side of Health Care that is already

calculating the financial saving to the system

that medically assisted death could contribute.

In an article in the Health Reporter authors

Trachtenberg and Manns of the University of Calgary

estimated that the province of Alberta could

save about $138 million annually in health care expenses.

There are fears that financial pressures

and the need to act to free up acute care beds in already

overcrowded hospitals may provide a tempting motive

to loosen the laws.

To those who feel that this is not a possibility

one need only look as far as the Netherlands

and Belgium to see what happens in cases of definition

creep in this matter.

Dr. J. Pereira of the Department of Palliative Care

Medicine at the University of Ottawa authored an article

providing a warning as to where legalized

assisted death can go, even within

the context of safeguards.

His article was published in Current Oncology.

He points out that the stringent safeguards

that were put into place in the Netherlands

have been extensively eroded or reinterpreted,

or just ignored due to various pressures.

He warns if it can happen there, it is just as likely

to happen anywhere.

He writes:

These facts represent, as the author indicates,

a "slippery slope".

He explains that in the Netherlands the initial intent

was to limit assisted suicide as a last

resort option to the limited population

of terminally ill people, and now,

Currently in Canada assisted death legislation

Bill C-14 only applies to people who are able to make

an informed decision, and are in an advanced state

of a terminal illness where death is foreseeable.

It is currently considered an exception in medical

practice and may be selected by the patient

when other treatments are exhausted.

As we have seen there are continuing pressures

from social activists to expand the boundaries of the new law.

Eventually, if the person is elderly enough,

or sick enough, assisted death may be a first option rather

than a last resort.

We can dress up this new role for health care

professionals with all manner of softer

phraseology, but do we as a society

know how this will change our attitudes

toward care of the chronically ill,

the elderly and others faced with severe medical situations?

In the end legalized assisted death results

in a diminishment of the value and sacred nature of life,

and reduces the value of a human being,

enabling society to eventually rationalize

the termination of its elderly, chronically ill,

unproductive or undesirable.

This is not society as it was intended to be,

which does not treasure human life and the tremendous

potential and contribution of mankind,

including those who are sick and disabled.

There is a better option, an option that derives

from knowing the potential of human beings.

For human beings are not animals, they are a special

creation which was made to achieve an amazing

destiny far beyond what most have ever understood.

We will show you that potential in the next part

of our program.

If we are the product of a Creator's work,

then is there a record of that work, and perhaps a manual

left to guide, instruct and even

show us our purpose and potential?

The answer, as we have shown on Tomorrow's World

in previous programs, is yes,

there is such a record and manual.

The Bible is that record, and the only writing

that can be proven to be divinely inspired.

That text provides many answers the world misses

as it has largely repudiated its validity.

The answers are there nonetheless.

So why were humans made?

For what purpose were they made and how does that purpose

inform us how we should view assisted death?

First of all man was not just made as another animal.

Man was made not as a member of the plant kind,

or the animal kind which were described earlier

in this chapter, but man was made in God's image,

a physical model of the God kind, in His image,

after His likeness.

Man was given a mind, and a special power in the mind

that enables reasoning and speech,

great awareness and learning capacity,

far beyond other creatures.

Mankind was made to be different.

We also know from other scriptures that God

also made millions of angelic beings, of greater power

and intellect than man and endowed with immortality.

Yet man was made to have a greater potential

than that of the angels.

Man was made in a physical form, lower than the angels,

yet angels were made to serve man to help

him achieve a great potential.

The Bible speaks of a change for mankind,

for those who successfully develop the character

that God is looking for man to attain, character

that we are directed to achieve in the Scriptures.

The Bible has a great deal to say about this character

that causes us to eventually think as God thinks.

Character is the attribute of knowing right and wrong

and having the will, strength and desire

to choose what is right.

Of course the difference between right and wrong

is only determined by God and that too is revealed

in the pages of the Bible.

For those who develop this character great potential

and responsibility await:

These promises clearly show that man has great

potential if he seriously builds good moral

character as defined by the Word of God.

Now how does this impact the question of ending

one's life through assisted death?

There is a story in the Bible many find difficult

to understand, which exemplifies the great

value God places on character and how He sometimes

works with those He deeply loves to give

them opportunities to perfect their character.

It is the story of Job, a great and decent man,

who was extremely wealthy and powerful,

and served God faithfully.

But there was something he lacked.

He really needed to know how little he was compared

to his Maker, and how much he really had

to depend upon God.

Thus God allowed great and severe trials to come upon Job,

not to punish him, but to develop

him into the person God wanted him to be.

In the course of these terrible trials,

Job's wife was pained to see her husband suffer,

being covered in boils, as well as mourning the loss

of all they had had.

So in her sorrow for Job she made a suggestion

in Job chapter 2 verse 9.

Job's wife was basically telling him to kill himself,

and she likely would have got someone to assist

if he had complied.

But Job, even in his pain and sorrow, trusted that God

was doing this for a reason.

The story ends with Job gaining an understanding

he would never have had without that trial,

and he went on to enjoy many more years of success

and happiness.

He became richer in character.

Sometimes at the end of our lives we are at our weakest,

and humbled by circumstance,

often very difficult regardless of our wealth.

It is the final trial we face, and facing it well,

with dignity and courage, asking God for direction and help,

results in the greatest wealth of all,

a wealth that will outlast any physical suffering

we may endure, a perfected character.

The book of Romans calls us the children of God,

and references God as our Father and Jesus Christ

as our brother.

It means this relationship quite literally.

That is why David makes a stunning statement

in the Psalms, referring to the time of his coming

resurrection from the dead.

He states that when he rises in the resurrection

he, and by extension we, will have the appearance

and composition of God.

John says the same thing in 1 John 3:2.

The Gospel Jesus Christ brought teaches us

that we are called to be a very part of the God Family;

that is what Christ and the Apostles teach

in the pages of the Bible.

That is why we just do not have the right to choose

when we die, because we are His creation,

and He wants to work with us until we become the way

He wishes us to be.

The reward is great power, glory and eternal happiness.

Choosing suicide intervenes in that plan

and interferes with achievement of the awesome potential.

Follow along in your own Bible and read

for yourself what it has to say.

Today's question is:

What Are Angels?

You have likely heard someone speaking fondly

of a deceased loved one, referring to them as an angel

currently watching over them.

The Bible leaves no doubt the fact that angels are real,

and we should turn to it to discover their origin.

Let's begin in the book of Job with a passage most Bible

commentaries agree pictures a host of angels

celebrating the moment of creation.

When Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eden,

cherubim were placed at the boundary of the Garden

to prevent Adam and Eve from returning.

These examples occurred before any human

being had ever died.

These angels could not have once been people.

Matthew 22:30 gives us more information.

Here, Jesus states:

This would have been a prime opportunity

to say that they will be angels,

but that is not what Christ said.

He used the term like to show that they are similar,

not that they are the same.

The book of Hebrews reveals to us our status

relative to angels both now and in the future.

Most marginal references explain that the term

"a little lower than the angels" is meant to convey,

"for a little while lower" this is confirmed

by using the same wording to describe

Jesus Christ in verse 9.

While many take comfort in picturing their deceased

loved ones as angels.

The truth however is far greater.

We have been made for a little while lower

than the angels, but with the opportunity, subsequent

to a resurrection from the dead, to be crowned with glory

and honour and to have all things under our feet

as stated in Hebrews.

Sarah Khan Exclusive Interview | We Bet You Don't Know Anything About This Mere Bewafa Star - Duration: 50:49.

Sarah Khan

She is young and beautiful.

Her laughter is infectious

I don't know much about her

But today we will know her.

Let's meet Sarah Khan.

Samina: Thank you so much Sarah for being here. Sarah: Thank you!

What are you doing in Lahore?

In Lahore, I had an interview with you

Samina: Thank you! Sarah: And I was very excited.

And I came for two days for a project too.

Is it a secret project?

Or you can talk about it?

It's a campaign for Lawn but I can't disclose the name.

That will be launched in summers.

It's a very interesting project.

Do you like modeling?

No, not at all.

I love only acting.

I don't even like doing commercials

because you have only one facial expression all day.

In acting, you have different facial expressions

Like crying, laughing and running etc.

Don't you think

acting takes time? I mean,

a serial of 26 episodes?

I love acting too much that I don't realize the time.

If 12 hours work increases to 15 hours

I will do it easily because I love working

On set.

In our work, you know

We have to wait for two to three hours

on set and that is very tiring for me. Samina: What do you do then?

I always have Holy Quran in my bag.

My father prints Holy Quran

in seventy different languages.

He is an offset printer.

Everyone asks me to bring Quran in

English language or in other languages.

So, I read Quran in my free time

Now a days I am reading Quran in detail

I have a detailed book on Quran.

So, I read Quran in my free time

Samina: Bibliography? Sarah: Yes.

Samina: Something with that name? Sarah: Yes.

There's a book on the translation of Quran

It's the translation,

Which explains Quran in detail.

I am trying to read it.

Knowledge is amazing.

There are so many stories in Quran and so fascinating.

Especially Surah Yusuf

Which fascinates me a lot. Sarah: Really?

Yes. Read it.

It is such an amazingly

explained and written story.

All the stories in Quran, which I have read

I want to read more

And more.

There is a lot to learn.

And the change I have

felt in me due to reading Quran in detail

is, that I have become more patient.

Samina: You have become calm? Sarah: Yes calm and more patient.

I don't get angry now

now I have control over myself.

There are a lot of things that I have learnt

and because of that I have changed a lot.

I haven't even read half of Quran yet.

Gradually you will read it

and find new meanings

and will understand it better.

You are young now.

Samina: Where were you born? Sarah: In Madina.

We are four siblings and we all were born in Madina.

How?

My mother is from Lebanon and

my father is from Pakistan. They both met in Saudi Arabia.

They got married there. Both had gone to perform Umrah.

My father used to live in Saudia.

He was an offset printer there

they both met. My father liked my mother.

He sent a marriage proposal.

And after one and a half year they got married.

Then me, my two sisters and

brother were born there.

We lived for ten years in Madina. I was ten when we came to Pakistan.

Who is the eldest one?

Eldest one is my brother, Hamza.

Then my sister Ayesha, both have one year difference.

Then me and then Noor, my sister.

So, Ayesha doesn't do any job?

My mother was not feeling well.

She died four months ago.

I am so sorry.

Ayesha did hotel management, she left her studies and job

and started to take care of my mother.

Mom had cancer.

She isn't doing anything now.

After her death,

me and Noor have continued the work.

Ayesha will do it too now.

Whatever she wants to do.

Samina: What does your brother do? Sarah: He is studying.

He wants to become an actor.

I asked him complete his studies first

Because I wasn't able to continue

my studies. I gave an advice to my siblings

to complete their studies.

Because I think you can't rely on acting.

I think Prime Minister does not take that much salary

But I wish

I could continue my studies.

It was my mother's wish too.

You can study anytime.

Exactly and I will continue my studies

I want to study acting

I want to study about my profession.

How did you use to live?

Your mother was from Lebanon and father was Pakistani.

And how do you speak Urdu so well.

My parents used to talk in Arabic language.

But then we came to Pakistan

and attended Pakistani Schools

and started to speak Urdu

better than Arabic

my father is a Pathan

and dad speaks Pushto language too.

How many languages do you speak?

I don't speak Arabic and Pushto.

I regret that, if only my mom would

teach me how to speak Arabic.

Which language did you use to speak to your mother?

English and Urdu.

Samian: Did she know Urdu? Sarah: Yes.

Because my grandmother was born in Lebanon

but her parents were from Pakistan.

so mom had a link with Pakistan.

she knew Urdu and

we talked in Urdu.

In my home, my mother

always, you know here everyone favors

boys more than girls,

but we were three

and mom taught us

that girls should be stronger

and independent.

If they get married

No one can hurt them

They should be that much strong

to run the house

A girl should be stronger emotionally too.

So she always

wanted her daughters

to be strong.

When you all sat together at

The dining table what did you talk about?

Our family was

Fun loving.

My parents never

scolded us or talked loudly

in front of us.

When someone talks in

a harsh and loud way

we used to discuss these things like

"Mama did you see

how are they talking."

Just imagine, my parents

never scolded us or talked in a loud voice

Mom's angry looks were enough for us.

Samina: They never scolded you? Sarah: Never.

There is no question of getting beaten up then?

It was impossible.

Only mom's angry look was

enough and we would feel scared from that look.

My parents had a way to stop us

from being naughty.

Father never scolded us that

what have you done?! He kept quiet and by his

facial expression we would know that he was angry.

It meant that don't do it again.

If you do it again then the reaction will come.

And mom used to give us angry looks.

We all were naughty

there was no major age

difference between my siblings

we had no friends

We four hung out together.

If we did some mischievous things

that look was enough.

Samina: That's it! Look? Sarah: She didn't say anything.

We got scared.

At 09:00 pm we would turn off the T.V.

After then when my parents had slept

so we all siblings

we took the T.V. from TV lounge

to our room and

watched the T.V

whole night on mute mode.

Fearing mom dad might wake up.

We'd watch it on mute because we wanted to see T.V.

This is how our childhood was like.

Samina: How very interesting!

How did you do all the naughtiness then? On mute?

Samina: Like riding a bicycle? Or climbing a tree?

Sarah: We have done a lot of naughty things.

Samina: Sneaking out of home at night?

Our parents fell into a lot of trouble because of this!

We had cousins, we were close with.

We spent our childhood together.

They lived in apartments.

So every evening we'd go together for a stroll around the building.

And we'd ring the bell for a specific house.

An aged couple lived there.

We'd do it every day.

We did this for like 3 years.

After 3 years

You can't imagine it…

The uncle brought a rod to our place

and we had a family get together going on.

he barged in saying "Today I won't leave you. I'll kill you."

and he kept banging

at the door.

and we were like that what did we do?

Rang the bell for 3 years only.

I mean only 3 years had passed.

So we have done stuff like this

so yeah…

so you had a fun childhood?

Yes. A lot.

So how was the younger Sarah like?

Apart from being naughty!

I was very shy as well.

I was confident from the beginning and in school too

I participated in everything.

I performed at all kinds of shows in school.

But I was very shy

If someone tried to talk to me, I would be

Very quiet thinking what to say.

It still happens to me.

Although I am very talkative.

Only if someone talks about stuff I like

but I can't handle random conversations

on set, it's usually me and my book

often people think that I am very rude

arrogant with a lot of attitude since I don't talk

but in reality I don't like talking much.

With just anyone because when you do

you then keep talking.

So I don't talk much and

don't let other people know me so thoroughly.

I only keep it confined

to a working relationship.

So when did you know that you'll become an actor?

When I did my first project

I did a voice-over.

When I signed my first project,

I thought I couldn't do acting.

It is not my cup of tea.

After that I didn't work for 2 years. Bari Aapa was my first project.

For a channel.

And then the 2 years gap.

After which I decided I always wanted to be an actor.

I did want it.

But I did comprehend it at first.

From school to my college life

I had always been interested in such stuff.

I did it in school as well.

I like doing it

So when I did not work for 2 years

I missed it a lot.

After doing only 1 project

I had found a purpose in my life.

Doing it actually made me happy.

So who went first? Noor or you?

I did. Noor is a year younger than me.

And she has wanted to do this since forever.

She knew she wanted to become an actor.

But I never wanted to admit it.

I thought I'd get into fashion designing.

But I was always interested in Art.

Noor and Ayesha are both good at sketching.

They will be able to make your sketch in 10 mins.

So the three of us always

had this artistic side.

We had to do something like this.

What kind of things do you collect?

What do you buy? What do you collect?

Do you have a secret place in the house?

Where you hide your things?

Samina Ji, I like to be dolled up.

When I go to market for shopping…

We three can wear same size of clothes and

our shoe size is the same too.

So we keep sharing our things.

But when I buy something for myself,

I lock it in my wardrobe.

Because I want to wear it first and

they can take it later.

And they say that you wear our things

Before us so why can't we?

I just want it that way.

I have a craze for shoes.

I want to buy lots of heels.

And even if

I am traveling around,

I keep buying new shoes.

Make up and watches as well.

Do you buy books?

Yes but not many.

But you do visit bookshops?

Yeah yeah.

If I want to read something I do.

Somebody told me to read poetry.

So I am thinking of buying it.

Because Urdu, when I speak it, is not very clear.

I don't speak it very clearly.

A lot of directors tell me that

I should work upon my intonation.

So I am thinking about buying some

deeply poetic books and read them.

So now I will. Samina: You won't be able to understand them!

No, I do understand them.

It's not as if I can't understand.

Will buy ones which are a little easier to comprehend.

Like Faiz Ahmed Faiz…

Do you think he is easy to understand? Sarah: Somebody said it's easy Urdu.

Mr. Faiz is not easy at all. Sarah: No?

Samina: No, only a few of his poems are.

Anyway, will read and see.

Ok, ok. Let me know when you've

read him and then I'll ask you.

They tell me to read Urdu newspapers as well.

Samina: Newspaper is easy. Sarah: I think it's boring.

Yes, easy but boring.

What do you even read in it?!

News is never boring. News is always very spicy.

When News is being played on T.V. at home

The 4 of us stay in our rooms.

because you know

already there's a lot going on

one should only stay happy.

See good things, Enjoy the good atmosphere.

We just try to stay happy.

What kind of films do you see?

Can I tell you something?

My family calls me an alien as I don't watch any films.

You like acting and you don't watch movies?

If I go to cinema to see a film

I come out after 15 mins.

I can't sit for 1 or 2 hours.

How can one do it?!

But at home I do like watching horror movies.

So me and my sister Ayesha

We sit together at night to watch horror movies. Samina: Don't you feel scared?

We do. And I feel

Scared the most but then I enjoy

It a lot too.

I have just done a horror

Project recently as well.

Samina: Really? Pari? Sarah: No.

Samina: What is it called? Sarah:It's Belapur ki Dayan on Hum Television.

I am playing the dayan.

I am possessed by a witch.

I had a lot of fun during it.

Whatever I had seen I experimented in it.

It was very interesting.

I want more of such projects to be made

And I want to be a part of them.

I want to play the witch again.

I enjoyed it a lot.

They suspended me from a crane, put me inside a well.

They made amazing scenes where

The witch is glued upside down to the wall.

At all times. Such were the scenes.

Showed the concept and the

way of a ghost talking.

I tried that too.

So did you change your voice?

Yes. Samina: What kind of sound did you make?

Whenever the witch possessed her, she'd scream.

So I made up that sound where she would be screaming.

If she wasn't possessed, then she would talk normally.

so when she is possessed what kind of a sound did she make?

The sound is normal but when

she becomes possessed it becomes loud.

So that meant that the witch had come?

And the expression would change, eyeballs becoming bigger.

So have you ever done this with your sisters?

Did you scare them like this?

When the shoot was underway and I had practiced for like 10 to 15 days

on becoming a witch

Samina: Did you practice at home? Sarah: No, not at home.

My siblings wouldn't let me be serious.

They would just make fun out of it.

Practice happens on the set.

So when I was done with it

And I had mastered the witch act

At home I used that screaming sound

And my sibling were like

Are you mad? We will throw you out of the house!

I thought that if they were scared then

This might just be successful.

So I was very happy that my siblings were scared.

So it was like a litmus test?

Yes it was.

because they never take me seriously anyway.

So what did little Sarah dream about?

You said you were shy!

Since childhood I have been

Very mature.

I was always like that.

I wanted to be something and I knew it.

My mother lived in Emirates.

I had thought that I would be someone like her.

I would buy my own house.

I would gift a car to my mom.

And my younger sister.

I love Noor a lot.

I keep telling her that I am her mom.

And you are a middle child?

Yes, yes. Noor is younger than me.

But I have a lot of attachment to her.

So I tell her that you are my daughter

And I am your mum.

And people often wonder like why!

So is there any sibling rivalry between you two?

No no.

Do you ever get jealous?

Never ever.

People often asked me

That you and your sister both are working

And if your sister is casted instead of you

What will your reaction be!

I tell them that no one would be happier than me.

Nothing would mean

More to me if you give my sister

Some work instead of me.

What I feel for myself, I feel for them to.

I think the same way for them as I do for myself.

What is your brother's place in this trio?

My brother

He is one of the gang too?

Yes yes. He totally is.

My brother is not like brothers usually are.

No restrictions!

So he is not your father's second in command?

No, no. Not at all.

Instead we keep teasing him.

Asking him to take us out.

We will also go check out people!

He keeps saying what kind of sisters are you!

He calls us jungle sisters!

Brothers in our society

expect the sisters to

do house chores for them

but it's the opposite with us

we keep asking him to do stuff.

There's no difference between him and us.

We are all alike.

My parents never fostered that difference.

Yes, indeed. They never did.

Between a son and a daughter.

They said you are daughters so you should be stronger.

And they never burdened my brother

with any kind of responsibilities either.

Like people in the society do.

My parents always taught

Us to never be dependent on our brother.

Don't you have your own hands?!

You can do all on your own.

So what do you plan to do in future?

I will continue acting

Because it happens

to be my

First love.

Samina: And studies too? Sarah: It's on my list.

And I want to become a producer.

Samina: What?

I never want to be a director.

I think it's the world's toughest job.

Instead I want to be a producer.

I want to make my own projects.

I want to work with new people.

I want to take new people in.

I want to introduce new people.

and work better. Work on a bigger level. On international level.

So much of the amazing work is being done already.

I want to do something similar after a few years.

Are you doing any films?

I don't want to do any film. Samina: Why?

No plan of it. I am interested in dramas.

I have not thought about films yet.

If in the future I feel like it

A project is too good

Then I will

Definitely do it.

But for the time being, no plans yet.

Samina: Ok, but why?

Everyone wants to do films.

Sarah: I don't know. Samina: You're not ready yet.

I am not ready yet plus a few requirements

They need are something I might never be able to fulfill.

I gave an audition for a film

where they asked "How short can you go?"

in clothes.

I was like, full sleeves?

Shouldn't be back less and no deep necklines.

I won't do any knee-length either.

I am like that.

I don't mind if people are doing it.

But I have a few rules in my life.

I don't want to forgo such things,

So if I come across something which is o.k. for me

And for them as well, then

I will definitely do it.

How did you make so many rules at such a young age?

I don't know why…

Samina: From childhood? Sarah: I have always been like that.

Noor would say you are so boring.

You are so bad; you don't play either.

What do you keep thinking about?

You just imagine that in my classroom

I was the tallest and I would sit at the back.

So I would just sit there and think quietly.

What would I do when I get back home?!

I would iron my sister's uniform too.

I was very conscious about punctuality.

And if Noor wouldn't get up, I would go on my own.

Even now, If my call time on set is at 9

I will be there at exact 9.

I am very punctual about work.

I inherited that thing from my dad.

My dad is punctual.

So I was always focused

About what to do in my life.

What I have to do or become.

I am very punctual

I was good in studies.

I used to get high scores in school every year.

My sister was duffer.

She wasn't good in studies.

She never knew what was happening in school and

asked me to inform her about school.

I was like that.

From the childhood

I grew with same thoughts

And I was mature.

Samina: So you want to become a producer? Sarah: Yes.

Samina: And you will do a lot of work. Sarah: A lot of work

Whatever I will be able to give to my industry

I will give it.

Because that industry made me

What I am today.

This is my interest.

I have been working since five years.

And I took a two year break

After first project.

And then I decided that

I will do acting

that day I decided to become a producer.

I will make a film. Maybe I will

Not cast myself in that film

I will do something at high level

Like our producers are doing.

They are doing a great job

nationally and internationally.

I will not only be an actor.

This is the plan.

Did Sarah fall in love?

It happens to everyone.

It isn't necessary to fall in love with a human

You can fall in love with your work.

My first love is my mom.

No one can match that level.

Even if he is my husband

Or someone else.

My second love is my father. No one can reach that level too.

My family then

after my family

that will be one whom I will marry

Is there anyone in your life?

Sarah: Yes. Samina: Is there?

But I don't like to talk about it because I don't know what

to say: that I am in a relationship?

I will tell that

when I am in Nikkah

because my family

doesn't like this

What will I say that I have a boyfriend?

After my mother's death

someone told me

Whatever your mother taught you

Now you have to take care of her honor.

So, I always keep one thing in

my mind that now the responsibility is on me.

If I do something wrong

people will blame my mom.

If someone says anything

About my mom,

I can't bear it.

I take steps carefully

I take projects very carefully

And I also

teach my sister that

whatever you do

keep in your mind our house's environment

If my family doesn't like to talk about it then I wouldn't talk.

So he didn't propose to you?

The one who is in your life?

Everything had happened. My baba and mama knew it

When my mom died he was with her

5 hrs before her death

And mama was very happy

she was in hospital

and after mama's death

My life changed completely.

It became easier

Things were very complicated before

we were dependent on mama

knew nothing. After that we knew everything

5 minutes after the death

I wasn't crying, I was consoling

My siblings that it was good for her

She was in pain

after 10 minutes of death

I immediately realized that

yesterday we were planning for going on a dinner

and now we are praying for her forgiveness

we have never planned that what will happen to us

when we die. Why do we have to recite Darood Pak for 1 lac times?

For forgiveness. We have never thought

To do good deeds for our forgiveness

and eternal life

there I realized that

this life is just a test

you will get reward in after life Nothing's here

So you understood death?

Totally!

Right after my mother's death

I realized it.

My siblings didn't realize it

I explained it to them

This life is nothing

We hurting others in our

race of succeeding

we are doing very wrong

If we die tomorrow

And there would be no one to pray for you

then what will happen?

We are now praying for mama for forgiveness from the wrath of grave

I was thinking we have never planned for this

In fact we should be planning for it

what Allah has made us for

What will happen when our eternal life will start?

Never thought about it

with this thought

I stay happy and I try that

my assistant, my helpers at home, driver

or anyone, they will never get hurt

because of me

I don't want this to happen that

If I die tomorrow so

there will be no one

to pray for me

I should be having

my enough good deeds

that when I go the Lord after death

I would proudly say that

I have done my best

So I realized this

After mama's death

that this life of ours

is a test

If you become a good or a bad person

you will harvest what you have sown

and what is success?

Success is happiness

I have never like I said earlier

For success I have never

hurt anybody

or cut anybody's way

for achieving something

When you are good and have a clear vision

Of proceeding forward

Following the right path

And not crushing anyone else

And your intentions are good

intention matters a lot

if your way is just then there is no force on earth

that can stop you from achieving what you deserve

God never wastes your hard work

never

But this world

Is filled with different people?

I know but if we see the world as bad

Then we will live our life according to that

then we are also bad

Allah has said that you

are responsible for your deeds

You will not be judge

As if other person was wrong and you did wrong too

Then you are justified, no.

If you are good

Your intentions are pure

And you are passionate, I am

Very passionate about my work

Then ALLAH definitely

Helps you at any condition

If you do hard word

It never goes wasted

If you'll find short cuts to move forward

Then you'll get a temporary

success.

Who will take its guarantee

that it will last forever

and what's failure?

Failure…

You learn from failure

Failure is a kind of good thing

You won't succeed without failure

If I want something

and I get it at first attempt

then I won't struggle anymore in life

then for me life is easy

and if I don't get something

and faced failure

then I will try again

and that struggle is

hardwork!

That make you realize the worth of your work

you don't value the things you get so easily

when you want to achieve something

you struggle for it and face a lot of failure

and when you achieve it that's the fruit of your hard work.

According to my opinion, failure is a good thing

and fame?

fame..ummm

fame is a bonus

everybody wants fame

in the world

If you meet a taxi driver, He'll say to you

ma'am could you arrange my scene in a drama?

Fame actually is that

People get to know you,

People talk about you

Thanks to ALLAH, we have been

Given respect wherever we go

This thing attracts people that

when you pass from somewhere

obviously fame attracts me too and I desire it too

I desire success as well. when I pass from somewhere

people would say oh this is Sarah

this feeling…you know

It's a very unusual feeling

The feeling is different

You feel like you're king of this world

everybody knows you

You are going on a shopping

and get concession over there

Why?... you know

We should thank ALLAH for blessing us

It's great honor for us

And we take it for granted

that we are stars!

I thank ALLAH a lot.

I offer my prayers five time a day

I am in a way very religious

Because from family, since childhood

It was the routine that we have to recite Quran after tuition

I was very naughty. Qari Sahib's feet were dark

And I would tease him by asking

"are you wearing black or these are your feet?"

I still remember it

He would really get annoyed

And would say "these are not socks for God's sake they are my feet"

It's very funny

Because we do a lot of things in our childhood

Right? Teasing people and annoy them

or would say something

but it was fun.

In fact it's fun even now

you shouldn't hurt someone with your teasing

you are not hurting someone nor saying anything bad about them

you are only joking and you can do that

nobody's getting hurt because of it

Have you ever tried doing a practical joke?

and regret doing it afterwards that what have I done?

Umm…no

Done nothing like that ever?

Kids usually do with teachers or

especially with Qari Sahib

I have done this a lot that

when our yearly reports cards would come

my sister used to get fail

I mean she would get very low marks

So it used to require parents' signatures

Now who will tell them

And what should we do about monthly tests

So, one time my principal caught me

That these are not your

parents' signatures

then I got punishment

and they called my parents too

then they did the Parents Teacher Meeting

they complained about me

And I was like I am such a good student don't scold me

scold my younger sister

because of her I did that

Sarah: I've really teased the auto rickshaw drivers Samina: The one who take you to the school?

No randomly.

I used to go in bus for school

We are quite a number of cousins

and we all usually

travel in a same rickshaw

telling the driver a very far away destination

that would be of approximately 1.5 hours he would say okay

and we would say we'll give you 5 rupees for the trip

and he would say "5 rupees?"

and we'd say yes, let's go now

He would refuse

Then we'd start bargaining with him

And when it'd end

We'd tell him there's a camera

behind tree. It was a prank

And you'll come on T.V

Then he got excited

adjusted himself and we told him that on Thursday at 8p.m. you'll come on the show

and he'd be sitting in front of

his T.V and wondering in which world it'd come?

That's what I had done

many more things like that

and in all our naughtiness, mama was involved with us

Mama was very young.

She was 39 when she died

She got married at the age of 14

She was like a friend

so mama was always involved with us

in our naughtiness

I'll show you mama's picture and you won't guess

That it's mama

Because there wasn't any difference, we look alike

Did you ever cook together?

Like crazily?

Messing everything?

Sarah: yes Samina: like a disaster

Every night when we cousins meet up

We'd do new experiments

parents would go to sleep

and we have to cook something for ourselves

like making a paratha and kneading the dough

If you don't know how to dough it is all over

my paratha is very famous in the family

my cousins call my paratha 'biscuits'

I ask them why?

I've made such a good paratha

They get very crispy

I do not know why?

Samina: Dough must be hard Sarah: my cousins when visit me

They'll ask where are biscuits Sarah?

My cousins and my brother when wanted

To hang out late at night

up to 3 or 4 in the morning

I'd be usually asleep

so they'd wake me up ask me for food

so I'd wake up in the morning

and make those biscuits like parathas and tea for them

Do you cook?

Yes Samina: do you cook well?

Umm only what I like

Samina: and what's that?

I like vegetables a lot, I don't like meat very much

so I cook vegetables

I also make chicken

But dishes like biryani, pulao and qourma

I cannot cook these

Samina: Can you do baking?

My mom used to do very good baking

and she even used to make food in the oven

me and both my sisters we could bake

cookies, bread, cake everything

after every 2 days we would bake

Samina: what fun! Sarah: yeah

Brownies or anything we wanted to eat we'd bake it

Who is the fashion designer among the sisters?

And the stylists and fashion conscious?

Actually we three are

we three have our own individual styles

I can't carry Ayesha's style

Neither can Noor

Noor and Ayesha are quite identical

People usually think they are twins

Their hair resemble a lot. Have you seen Noor?

I have worked with Noor

Their hair, eyes, features all are alike

Noor is Masha ALLAH

Very tall. She is 5'7"

and I am a bit shorter than her

so our styles are different

we three are our own fashion designers

who is interested in Interior?

Ayesha and I are very much interested in interior

what colours do you choose?

We always try to go for nude colors

We decorated our house before mama's death

Refurnished it, all before mama's eyes

The color we used was beige

With wooden floor

It's maintenance is very tough

Yes

The walls are white because we like them white

No colored walls

It looks spacious

I prefer big windows

In my house

It will lit the whole house

Always brighten up with the sunlight

We never close windows with curtains

What advice of your mother

took you forward in life

or you are still holding on to it?

Look…mama what she wanted,

And the way she wanted

to see her daughters

Happy, successful

In whatever they are doing

or even if they are not doing

she wanted us to be happy

So I am trying to achieve all that

So that my mom would be proud of me

I achieved what I should have

I continued my studies

I became what I wanted to be

I want a successful life in every way

A happy married life

A good house, my own life

I would love to marry

only to became bride or to have a household

To have a complete household

We get the chance to become brides

I'm interested in…

First thing I'll have twins

okay so you want twins

I have already asked Allah

That give me twins

nothing else

And I am a

Very domestic sort of a person

People usually think I might not know how to cook or do laundry

But I love to do household chores

Interior, kitchen duties

I want that after marriage

I have my own house

Where I am the boss. My house my rules

Where I cook for my husband

And make it ready before

he comes

get ready for him

With garlands in hair and wait for him?

Yes I love to be ready Samina: who will go to work then?

I will go to work Samina: okay so you will balance everything

Even now I do everything

like after mama

I had a lot of responsibilities on me

Ayesha used to look after mama

she devoted her life for her

She is the youngest so she doesn't do other things

I used to cook food

Nobody in our house

Likes to eat cook made food

Baba likes homemade food

So I would make food before

going on to the shoot

And I would bring the food with me on shoot as well

I would cook a separate meal for shoot

When I come back from shoot at night

I would make food

Put it in fridge and then take it with me

to the shoot in the morning

and then eat with everybody

see there is nothing in life

what you can't manage

It's not like you can't do anything at home

Because you are working

Even if you are working 24/7 you can still manage to do other things

I can along with work

Manage home and all its responsibilities

with very ease

Do you get angry?

Never

Samina: Not at all? Sarah: I don't have anger in me

If I could ever get angry

If for example I got angry on you

My extreme reaction would be that I'll keep myself quiet

I won't talk to you

And the reason is that

I don't want to say anything bad

which I will regret later

Do you try to apologize first or not? Sarah: right away

If I have done something wrong

I immediately try to apologize

Samina:Do you conciliate immediately? Sarah: yes!

If I don't then It would pinch me and I won't be able to sleep

I would regret and think over it

That I should not have done it

I try not to do any such thing

But if I do I apologize for it

I don't feel any hesitation in saying sorry

Even if it wasn't my fault

And my apologizing will make things better

So I will say

When are you getting married?

Wedding…umm

Let's see. My sister, Ayesha is getting married

This year Insha Allah

After her marriage I will think about it

This is so that you

Can do more work and establish yourself

or it doesn't matter?

No, it doesn't matter

You can work after your marriage as well, if you want

Things can be managed

It might be possible that

I will be producing projects with him

Insha Allah after Ayesha's wedding

I'll do mine.

I wish you all the best.

World War 3 WARNING: Israel says 'WE WILL hit Tehran' if Iran attacks - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 3:28.

World War 3 WARNING: Israel says 'WE WILL hit Tehran' if Iran attacks

ISRAEL hit the Iranian capital of Tehran in the event of an Iranian attack on Tel Aviv,

the country's defence minister warned, as the arch-foes' face-off in Syria threatens

to boil over.

The comments by Avigdor Lieberman were an unusually explicit Israeli threat to take

military action within Iranian territory, and followed a surge of unprecedented confrontations

between the countries' forces in civil war-torn Syria.

Mr Lieberman told the London-based, Saudi-owned news website Elaph: "Israel doesn't want

war but if Iran attacks Tel Aviv, we will hit Tehran."

Coastal Tel Aviv is Israel's commercial capital, where its military is headquartered.

An Israeli-Iranian showdown has been looming since February 10, when Israel said an armed

drone which was sent from a Syrian base penetrated its air space.

Israel destroyed the drone and carried out a raid on Syrian air defences in which one

of its F-16 jets was downed.

On April 9, an air strike killed seven Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps members at the

Syrian base.

Tehran blamed Israel and vowed unspecified retaliation, which in turn drew Israeli counter-threats

to broaden attacks on Iranian military assets in Syria.

The Israelis say their strikes are aimed at preventing Iran's garrison in Syria from entrenching

itself deeper in support of President Bashar al-Assad and linking with Hezbollah in Lebanon

to form a broad front against them.

Mr Lieberman added: "Every outpost in which we see Iran positioning militarily in Syria,

we will destroy, and we will not allow this no matter what the price."

Iran, which does not recognise Israel's right to exist, has frequently issued threat to

strike the city.

The two countries have been at loggerheads for decades, and have effectively been fighting

a proxy war since the mid-2000s.

Earlier this year, Israel for the first time admitted that it bombed a suspected Syrian

nuclear reactor in 2007.

Intelligence minister, Israel Katz, tweeted: "The 2007 operation and its success made

clear that Israel will never allow nuclear weaponry to be in the hands of those who threaten

its existence - Syria then, and Iran today."

Tensions have been further stoked since the election of US President Donald Trump, who

is threatening to pull the plug on a deal brokered by predecessor Barack Obama whereby

Iran agreed to limitations on its nuclear energy programme in return for the lifting

of some economic sanctions.

Mr Trump claims the deal is too lenient and that Iran has already broken some aspects

of the deal.

Critics fear Iran wants to use its nuclear power industry to develop nuclear weapons.

35 Years: We Are City Harvest - Duration: 5:31.

City Harvest's mission has always been to solve two problems: hunger and food waste.

We were founded 35 years ago by New Yorkers who saw so much need in the city.

There are 1.3 million people who are food insecure in New York City.

This year, we will rescue and deliver 59 million pounds of food that would otherwise go to waste.

City Harvest puts 22 trucks on the road, seven days a week to distribute to 500 programs

to make sure that millions of people each day receive a healthy meal.

Every day 160-to-250 thousand pounds leaves this warehouse to serve the five boroughs.

I rescue food from restaurants and I go out and give it out to shelters and food pantries.

We are on our way to Pret for a pick up this morning.

City Harvest has been an incredible partner to Pret since we opened our first shop on

Broad Street in the year 2000 and over the 18 years we have helped feed over 5 million

hungry New Yorkers.

And now we are on our way to go feed some people at Trinity Services.

How's it going, man?

City Harvest.

All right, thank you!

City Harvest means for us continuing our mission of reclaiming food, of social justice, not

letting food go to waste.

Our soup kitchen feeds between 200-to-300 people a day and our food pantry gives groceries

to about 30-to-40 families a day.

We're at the Melrose Market this morning.

A Mobile Market is an open-air, farmers market-style food distribution.

Good morning!

Completely free.

I've been a volunteer with City Harvest since 2013.

Fourteen years.

Ten years, give or take.

I pick up for, like, four people in my building.

Senior citizens, I take food for them.

It takes about 400 kind hearts a month to make this program happen.

One, two, three... community!

With the produce that we offer them, it has helped them change their diets.

Well, I don't mean to brag, but I've lost, like, 45 pounds, so I've cut out a lot of

food and if it wasn't for the market, I would not have vegetables in my house.

The Food Rescue Facility was opened, actually, right when Hurricane Sandy hit.

During Hurricane Sandy here in New York, City Harvest really stepped up.

Then when the other hurricanes happened this year, we were able to reach out to Florida, to Texas, Puerto Rico.

After Hurricane Harvey, I couldn't wait to go out there and help the people in Houston.

We scheduled an additional 17 repacks and packed thousands of boxes for our neighbors

in Puerto Rico.

You know when you are hit by a hurricane or an earthquake, the locals, they're in distress.

It's good that somebody else, some other organizations come from far away to help the locals.

That's what we all should be doing for each other.

I'm from Puerto Rico and have lots of family there and what they did was important.

During Hurricane Sandy, one of the programs that came to us was Children of the Light Ministries,

which is run by Pastor Maureen Rush.

When Hurricane Sandy happened, this entire area here was devastated.

For years, we just went to programs and distributed food.

But now we're providing an opportunity for our programs to come to us and get food, which

is why when we had the opportunity to connect her with a major donor, we were able to purchase

her a truck of her own, because previously, she had been renting trucks every week to

do this work.

We now serve 40,000 families a month.

Next stop is P.S. 234!

Access to fruits and vegetables is incredibly important in neighborhoods where your local

store might not be reliable, the items that you have might not be great quality, or they

might be really expensive.

It is not only a help into bringing healthy food into our house, but it's also economical help.

We're fighting all these different diseases that people are seeing at an earlier age and

if we just educate them, we can prevent some of those diseases from occurring in their

own lives.

The programs bring vegetables inside of the classroom so the teachers get a chance to

show it to the children and then they get excited about it.

I think it's a great teaching tool for the kids and also for some of the parents.

We're starting to see a pleasant, healthy change going on, which I think is really nice.

We were founded by volunteers and they are the fabric of our business.

There are people in this community who really need our help.

I like helping people.

You know, there's a lot of people in need here.

It's very helpful for the neighborhood, very, very helpful.

I wouldn't give it up for nothing in the world.

It makes me feel like a valued member of the community.

It's a privilege.

It's like a once in a lifetime gift that you get to help people that are struggling.

Part of being a New Yorker is taking care of each other.

This is love in action.

Food connects people.

A plate of food, a bag of food, it sends the message to somebody far away from where you

are cares about you, that we're not forgetting you.

That we are here with you for the long run.

That's why City Harvest is so important.

We are City Harvest.

We are City Harvest.

We are... we are ... we are City Harvest!

We do this because we believe no New Yorker should go hungry.

We are only able to do this because you are City Harvest.

You are City Harvest.

Because you are City Harvest.

You are City Harvest too!

So let's work together and feed New York City.

3 months, 29 character design dossiers for the pilot episode

A total of 80 images of different body positions, expressions and elements

In order to be added to the final dossier, each of these images has gone through 2 to 6 drafts

including different colours and shapes – 300 designs in total

How we make The Golden Apple: Character Design

Dimitar Petrov Art Director

When we are working on character design, it is very important that each of them has a unique silhouette

and a unique overall look to match their personality.

One of the main elements here is the silhouette

because this is what the human eye perceives first

before seeing what is within that silhouette.

This is why each one of our four main characters

has a totally different silhouette which matches their personality.

Vlad, who is very stable, shy and introverted, has more of a square shape,

while Tina-Pakostina, who is very dynamic and playful, has more of a wavy shape,

and the design suits her personality.

Bran is very brash in his actions and decisions, he quickly jumps to conclusions, he moves quickly,

so we have added more sharp angles in his design,

so much that his Kuker costume incorporates arrows and Bulgarian shevitsi (ornaments) resembling arrows.

We want to walk a thin line between what is modern and the more traditional and exotic influences.

For example, for some of the characters,

whose overall visual style was developed with the help of Svetla Radivoeva,

we sought that balance between the character looking modern,

while still displaying what is traditional for our culture.

To a large extent, traditional Bulgarian elements are present in their clothes, in their personalities,

and even in the way they move and express themselves.

Many of our characters' costumes are based on traditional Bulgarian folklore costumes

from various geographic and ethnographic areas.

It was an interesting challenge to find ways to stylise these costumes

and to adapt them to how they would be worn by animated characters.

As it turned out, Bulgarian traditional wear is extremely varied and interesting in its visual concepts

and they are very difficult to draw and stylise.

Magdalina Dianova Character Designer

The character I most relate to is Tina,

because she's always getting into mischief and she never takes herself too seriously.

I think that we have that in common.

I find it easiest to draw Tina, and maybe Vihra

exactly because I find so much in common with these characters.

I would probably find it more difficult to draw a male character, and maybe villains.

One of the new characters we meet in The Golden Apple's pilot episode

is Strahil the Banbabuger.

He is a Banbabuger, which means he is second in command after Kukerovo's Babuger.

He is like a colonel for Kukerovo's Kuker Warriors.

Strahil is a very interesting character because he is a typical warrior.

He is very big and very strong

and there is something very militaristic in the way we designed him,

and in the way we developed his character design.

Strahil has very strong beliefs, he is incredibly unrelenting.

This is evident in his design.

We used a lot of solid, stable, even rough shapes to show his personality traits.

Strahil doesn't really like Vlad and Bran, our two other main characters,

and this will become apparent in the pilot episode where we will see more of him.

You can always find a part of yourself in one of the characters

because everyone has a bit of good and a bit of evil in them,

regardless of whether this is a positive or negative character.

I think each of them takes a part from you,

I could even see parts of myself in Strahil. Yes, he may be negative, cold, maybe even angry

but I'm also like that sometimes, as every one of us is.

I think what makes creating and drawing characters easier is

that you give them a part of yourself or you discover a part of yourself in them.

I think about what the character is feeling and how I was feeling in similar situations.

Sometimes I would literally stand up and try out different poses to see what feels natural.

How would I stand if I am facing a villain?

If I am Tina, who is always very positive and playful,

would I hide, or would I challenge them?

I think putting yourself in the character's shoes is really important and it really helps.

When designing characters,

we pay special attention to every single element in that character.

After we decide on their silhouette,

we begin working on the details of each element of their costume,

such as their waistband and its patterns, their kaltsuni (traditional socks), the vest,

the patterns on their clothes and the colours of these patterns

Again, our goal is that every element of a character's design would express their personality,

tell us where they come from and what their story is.

Apart from the silhouette, the other important thing is that all characters need to be of different height.

Apart from the silhouette, viewers immediately notice how tall a character is.

As humans we subconsciously associate taller stature

with someone that is more important or has a more dominant role.

We have used this when designing our characters.

For example, Vulkan Zmei is extremely big and tall, because, after all, he is a Zmei Spirit.

Strahil, who is the Kuker Wariors' second-in-command, is also very big and strong.

Vlad and Bran are smaller because they are still children.

Vihra has now become our main reference point for character height.

Every time we create a character, as soon as the design is approved,

within the image we incorporate a chart showing how tall this character is.

This chart always shows how tall this character is in relation to Vihra.

We do this because we will see Vihra in every episode,

so we use her as a main reference point for "sizing" our world.

We then line up every character compared to each other.

Since they have already been "sized up" compared to Vihra, this is a really quick and easy task.

One of the main challenges in my work as a character designer

is drawing "believable" body positions

and making things look real, even though it is actually stylised.

This is not as easy as it may seem to people that do not draw.

In order to draw a character in a certain pose, you need a lot of practice.

You need to have drawn people in many different positions.

Even though actual people are realistic and your character is stylised,

you need to know how the body works in the real world, to know about anatomy, muscles – the whole body,

so you can recreate that in a more stylised and simplified character.

Every week in the Studio we organise live drawing workshops, where we get together to draw.

We either draw a model in different positions and from different angles,

or we draw each other by taking turns to stand in different positions.

This is a very useful exercise which I've been doing for a long time

as every artist does often, especially character designers.

You need to know how the human body works in the real world

in order to then simplify and stylise it.

We created many new characters for the pilot episode that no one has seen yet.

I am very excited to show them to everyone

and I hope everyone will fall in love with them the same way we did when we were drawing them.

What I thinк will be interesting for our viewers, and I hope it will really surprise them,

is that many of the characters we introduce in The Golden Apple's pilot episode,

will be developed in a very interesting way as the series progresses.

So even if a specific character's design

may be associated with a certain personality type or a certain role in the storyline,

these ideas may often be overturned as the series progresses.

The characters that look entirely like villains may not always only have negative traits.

We are determined to show that

in our folklore, there is no such thing as entirely good or entirely evil characters.

This is why in The Golden Apple series most characters will not just be all-good or all-bad.

They will all have their beliefs and very important reasons to do what they are doing.

So, even though a character may be visually associated with certain traits,

we hope the viewers would be surprised by what eventually would happen with that character.

Wix Stores Review - We try out its latest features - Duration: 6:10.

Hi, and welcome to our video review of Wix Stores, Wix's eCommerce solution.

Chances are, you've heard about Wix and how easy it is to build a great-looking website

with their builder.

But does it give you all the features you'll need to run a store successfully?

Let's find out.

First, let's review the pricing.

What's great is that you can enable the Wix Stores app and set up your store, including

adding products, for free.

However you'll need a paid plan to be able to actually start selling.

There are two options - eCommerce and VIP.

VIP provides you with a professional site review and lets you send out 10 email campaigns

per month, but other than that there aren't any differences between the two plans.

How easy it is to start up a Wix Store?

In our opinion, super easy.

If you're starting from scratch, you just choose your template from the Online Store

category.

Wix's template range for stores is as you'd expect from a company that prides itself on

modern, beautiful website designs.

They definitely don't disappoint here.

If you already have a Wix site, you can simply add the Wix Stores app and start setting up

your store.

Now, let's take a look at what you can and can't do with a Wix Store.

Editing elements like text on the home page is the same as with Wix's regular website

builder - you simply click and type.

To manage your store, however, you just need to click on this icon here.

From here, you can do things like add and edit products, which we'll explore in a

minute.

You can also view orders, edit your blog if you have one, manage contacts

through Wix's basic CRM, and run promotions.

Adding a product is easy, and it's all done through the store dashboard.

You have options to sell a digital file or physical product, add images, and edit your

product information.

Other useful features include inventory tracking, adding SKUs, and adding custom

text fields to let customers personalize their product.

You can also add product options such as different sizes or colours, so there's quite a deep

level of customisation available here.

Categorisation is done through Collections, and you can add products to multiple collections.

These can then be featured as product galleries on your homepage or other pages.

Unfortunately there's no way to create subcategories, so if you have a lot of products you may find

this a bit limiting.

One thing you can do on the Product Gallery pages is to allow customers to filter products

by collection, price, size or color.

And you can also add a 'Sort by' option, allowing customers to sort products by date

added, price, or alphabetically.

So if you do have a wide product range, it's a great way to help customers find what they're

looking for.

So here's what the Product Page looks like.

You have options to customise layout and other display settings.

You can also preview the product to see what the experience will be like for the customer.

One thing we'd like to see is a 'Related products' section, to display suggested

products based on a customer's selection.

But as it is, the end user experience in Wix Stores is pretty nice.

However, a key feature that is missing is the ability to edit order confirmation emails,

which are pre-set.

If this is important to you, a more purpose-built store builder like Shopify is probably a better

option.

Now for a very cool new feature that we know a lot of users will be excited about.

Wix finally lets you add a Members Area to your store, which allows customers to log

in, view orders, and edit account details.

There's a little bit of customisation available here, although it's mainly limited to design

elements and some text on the Orders page.

In the backend, it integrates with the Contacts section, so you have all your customer data

easily accessible from there.

As a feature that was highly requested, the Members Area is a huge tick in Wix's favour.

Now let's check out some of the back office features.

Different payment methods are available depending on the region you're in, but generally speaking

you'll be able to accept credit and debit cards, PayPal and offline payments.

You can also set different shipping and tax rates for different regions, including different

states within the US.

Although we've yet to try it, it looks like real time shipping calculations are now available.

It's limited to just a few countries and carriers for now.

We're hoping Wix makes this more widely available soon.

Orders can be accessed in the dashboard, and come through as a nice visual summary.

You can also export all your orders as a CSV file in case you need to import them into

your accounting software.

Other things you can do through the backend is create and send invoices, and send some

basic automated emails to promote your store to customers.

After reviewing Wix's most recent updates to their eCommerce solution, we have to say

we're pretty impressed.

Apart from their wide range of well-designed templates and easy-to-use editor, Wix Stores

also offers the kind of features that make it easy to manage an online store - affordable

pricing; product customization options; a customer login area; and flexibility in handling

payments, shipping and tax.

However, it is missing some features that could really help to improve the experience

for the customer, including related product suggestions, and the ability to customize

order confirmation emails.

We'd also like to see Wix expand their real-time shipping calculator, although it looks like

they're working on that.

All in all, Wix is definitely becoming a force to be reckoned with in the eCommerce space.

See how it compares to other store builders by visiting our site and checking out our

comparison tool.

You can also ask your questions by leaving us a comment.

We hope you found our video useful.

Feel free to give it a like if you did!

Thanks for watching.
