The Champions League tie between Liverpool and Manchester City will be settled by the
performances of Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne.
That's according to Premier League legend Alan Shearer.
The two sides go head-to-head at Anfield this week in the first leg of their quarter-final

Salah and De Bruyne both struggled at Chelsea in their first spells in England but moved
abroad in order to refine their game.

newspapers for 50 years, so, in this I find ..now it looks like ..we have the most
determined leadership ever, are they right are they wrong? it's not for me to
take a call wether they're right or wrong. at least India is topmost on their
mind. this is very heartening for me ..and because I have been in certain
situations, with variety of political leaders in the past, it always scared me,
that for 24 hours if you are with them, they don't have one single thought on
their mind, today what they can do for this country , sitting in such a
responsible position. which, kind of, you know really shook me.. how is it
somebody ,that is heading a nation ,with such a huge population and a million
problems, doesn't think today ,what can be done .at least today you have a
leadership, where nation is on the top most in their mind.
but, do we have to agree with everything that they do- not necessarily . can we
disagree with them? 100%, we can, if what is being done is not right for the
country, or not spoke about this prior today morning, also where I was
telling them, nation is an idea. without bringing pride and emotion towards that,
you are not going to make it happen. this is a crime, we have committed. in 1947,
when there was a euphoria of emotion and thing for the nation, people are willing
to die for it ,that was the time to enshrine the nation in everybody's
hearts. we did not do that. we had fanciful ideas and we kind of.. we
did not know what to do probably ..in retrospect, in post-mortem we can
say many things.. we don't know what was their mindset and what was happening..
whatever.. they lost control over that, they lost that opportunity .whenever
there is strife in a nation, that is the time, when you can once again reshape a
country. when people are comfortable, unfortunately most people will not be
conscious . we have to build a humanity, which will be in at most comfort and
still conscious. that is when we really build a good nation. but , still we are in
a place, where unless we are in a strife we are not conscious of the larger
well-being of what needs to happen. so, in many ways, today even if there is no real
strife on the street, there is strife .Arnab is going to be active in
two months.. small issues, when I say small, I am NOT saying small insignificant, I am
saying small in size.. see.. a child falls into your tube well, it is small in size,
but not small in significance ..our life is a life.. ok? if it is my life its
significant, so it is the same way it's significant for everybody's life .it may
be small in size , but it is significant for what it is ..so ,like this
there are a thousand issues in the country and for the first time we have
mediums, through which all these issues can enter everybody's heads.. and
everybody can think about it. so ,there is strife, there is going to be strife in
this country, when I say strife ,don't think something has to happen on the
street. no, it needs to happen.. strife needs to happen in people's
hearts and minds. so, that is anyway going to happen. when ,this is happening ,this is
the time, to build that sense of pride. but pride should not become prejudice.
it's very important. to build the pride in who we are and not developing
prejudice against those ,who we think are not part of us.. this is a very subtle
process .which needs to be done.. is there some ideal way of doing it? no .we
will have to mess around with it. it is.. that's the only way it will happen, but
we are ..a new generation is coming. young people ,whose thought process ,whose way
of looking at life has changed in many ways. today for the first time in the
history of humanity, more human beings are able to think for themselves ,than
ever before. whether the thinking right or wrong is not the debate, but they're
thinking .at one time a scripture would think for you, a guru would think for you
an elder would think for you .one man in the village would think for you. today
everybody is beginning, to think for themselves. once this happens, people will
become in such a way, unless something is logically correct, they cannot swallow it.
if you make them swallow it ,they cannot digest it .this will happen. right now you
are still a generation ,who still willing to acknowledge an authority and try to
digest something, which is not logically correct .but your children will be such..
even, if God comes and speaks ,if he doesn't make sense to them, they will
reject it . we're are just on the verge of that. so, this is a time ..this is
a good time, because now we are moving to a place ,where
only truth can be the authority. Authority cannot be the truth anymore.
doesn't matter, where the authority is coming from. this evolution is anyway
going to happen in the next.. in my estimate, I am saying, somewhere between
next 20 to 40 years time .all the heavens will collapse .when, I say heavens will
collapse, do you know what's in heaven? you must know, in Hindu heaven the
food is very good. if you're a foodie, that's where you must
go.. Himself cooks for you .the best chef. in another place, there are
those white ground ladies , who float around, legless ladies, who float around
in the clouds. if you like that kind of ambience, you go there. in another place
you will encounter virgin problems. if you like that, you can go there .but what
do you have to do to get there ? this happened in Alabama.. you've heard of Alabama?
it's a special state in America. in a Sunday school ,a Sunday school teacher
was going on full fire and in his rhetoric he asked: what do you have
to do, to go to heaven? little Mary ,who was sitting in the front

money, with the less privileged friend, I will go to heaven ..correct. another little

that's a qualification. you got to die first .when you die ,depending upon what
culture you are, we will either burn you, bury you or cut you and throw you to the
birds. one thing is ,if you have not done anything
eco-friendly, I am assuring you, at least when you die, we will do something
eco-friendly about you. we will put you back to earth. it's a very good thing to
do. if you take this body and go away somewhere ,this is the worst thing to do,
because you're taking away the topsoil. so, you will leave your body here and
go to heaven .you went to heaven without a body. what are you going to do with
good food and virgins? this is what I want to know.. when you don't have a body.
so, I am saying heavens will collapse.
once people start asking logical questions, heavens will collapse .when
heavens collapse, we have managed humanity for a long time, telling them
doesn't matter ,your suffering here, God is looking at everything, your suffering..
one day he will reward you up there .with this we have been managing humanity .so,
this will not work .when this doesn't work ,what will people do ? one big thing
that will happen is ,we will move towards chemicals. to be peaceful ,we already need
chemicals, to be joyful, we need chemicals, to be helthfull we need
chemicals .70% of the United States population is on prescription medication.
the other 30% of course buying it off the backstreets. just see, in the
last 25 years, how many more people are consuming alcohol? how many more people
are consuming drugs on this planet? it's gone up 10,000 percent. this is simply
because in their minds heaven is collapsing. you must
understand this , that somewhere else it will be good, is going away. they want to
have it good here. unless you teach tham, unless you teach them,
how to simply sit here and be blissed out about your existence itself, the
very life within you, is an ecstatic process .if you don't teach them this ,90
percent will move towards drugs and alcohol in a huge way, in the next 25 to
30 years. this is not a moral issue for me. I have no moral judgment on that. it
is just that , as a generation of people, we must understand, we hold this space on
the planet just for a brief period of time. there are two fundamental
responsibilities : one is- we must leave the world a little better than the way
it was given to us, by the previous generation. this we cannot do.
if we do all the right things from today, it will take another 150 to 200 years ,to
turn back the damage, we have already caused. so, no way we can leave the world
better than the way it was , when we came in .so, in that responsibility we can't
fulfill .we can start the process now. that's all.
the next important responsibility, we have as a generation is, the next
generation, that we produce, must be at least one notch better, than us. but if
90% of humanity is on some kind of chemicals, believe me, genetically we will
produce a generation, which is less than us .this is a crime against humanity. so,
one important aspect ,that every nation has to take care of, including ours is-
that we must teach people, how to know well-being within themselves.
unfortunately right now, we think, if you give money ,or food or medicine ,it is
service .if I teach you, how to live joyfully, it is not service .
in this country.. the most important thing in the ancient India was, you know
how to be within you.. this was the most respected thing. because ,we know what
will come out of this. when you have no concerns of fear ,when you have no fear
of suffering, that is when you will walk your life full stride. that is when great
human beings are produced .if we want to produce a great nation,
nation, society ,these are just words. there are only individual human beings.
only ,if we produce great human beings, will there be a great society and a
great nation and a great world.

Or did every single incident in your life, over the course of your brief existence led

Were you always supposed to click it, at this time of this day?
We think we are free.
We believe in choices, at least I did, when I was growing up.
The idea that things are pre-determined, and I might just be a puppet in this show, offended me
I thought, "You always have a choice."
But now, I am not so certain.
But I understand choices.
Choices create drama.
The thought that we could have prevented an accident, or chosen another better path, gives
us a sense of control, which in turn gives this existence, a texture.
If everybody knows, everything is determined already, and this is how things will unfold,
then there is no place for that sense of control; you are just watching a movie, and that has
terrifying implications.
My dad is intensely religious.
He believes in a deterministic universe.
According to his religion, everything that's happening has already happened and will continue
to happen.
It is an infinite cycle.
There is no doer, but just an illusion of things being done.
This thought is ingrained in him.
But no matter how deep someone's belief of a deterministic universe goes, they still
can't let go of their sense of control.
Wouldn't a deterministic universe free you from all possible responsibilities?
If everything is pre-determined, then what are you really responsible for?
The word Karma means action.
It is the concept of eternal cause and effect.
It has its origin in ancient India and it is the principal idea behind many Asian religions.
Karmic activity is said to be an action performed with an intention.
Reflexes and unintentional actions are not karmic activities.
Beating heart and muscle reflexes are not karmic actions, as you don't have to decide
to do that.
Imagine you are sitting still in a beautiful garden.
The garden has trees, flowers, flowing water and the songs of various birds.
You could be sitting, breathing, and just being.
You hear the songs of the birds, you notice the colors of the flower, and without any
sense of the self doing something.
The minute you think, "I am going to hear the sound of this bird", that begins the karmic activity
It is an intentional cause, and according to karma, that cause will have an effect.
Karma is said to be an eternal cause and effect, with knots interlinked, which in turn provides
all the texture and drama that we witness all around us.
But it is not as simple as it sounds.
Today I had a pizza for lunch, at a new pizza shop in the city.
I only went to that pizza shop after I saw an ad poster during my visit to the
visa processing office.
I only went to the visa processing office as I was in the process of immigrating to
another country.
I only decided to move to another country as I applied for an overseas job on LinkedIn.
Did I eat pizza for lunch today, only because I applied for that job all those months ago?
And what influenced that decision?
But one could argue that it is possible for a completely different scenario to have happened.
But the truth is, it didn't.
This was the only outcome.
If you focus on any of your decision, you would always find another previous decision
that influenced the one in focus.
So do you think you have a say in any of this?
Can you control and redirect the events in your life?
Or are you just a kid in a toy car, pretending to drive.
Some time ago, my friend casually said something while addressing free will and determinism.
He said, "you have a choice until you make a decision, after that it was always supposed
to happen that way."
It might sound like a nonsensical statement at first, but when you closely examine it,
you realize that it is not nonsensical.
It is paradoxical.
It is in line with all the other laws of paradoxes that seem to govern almost all aspects of
our reality.
We looked at this through the lens of cause consequence cycle and determinism
but what about free will?
What are its implications?
Free will is the ability to make a conscious choice at any given moment, without any external
coercion, while also accepting the responsibility for one's action.
This is where the concept of morality comes in.
According to free will, you are morally responsible for your actions.
You chose to do it, you could have prevented it, and you didn't, so you are responsible
for it.
So, what is true freedom?
Being caught in an infinite cause consequence cycle, and going through the motions, while
watching your life, like a movie without any responsibility, or consciously choosing to
do an action, and being responsible for that action and its consequence?
It doesn't seem like it was our choice to come into this world.
We didn't seem to choose our family.
We even appear to be pre disposed to behave in a certain way.
The idea of psychological archetypes was researched and advanced by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung
Archetype is a collectively inherited idea or a pattern of thought that is universally
present in individual psyches.
Jung divided the mind into three layers.
According to Jung, these three layers shape a person's identity.
The first one is the Conscious or the Ego world, which is formed by your direct experience
of this world through your senses like sight, sound and smell.
The next layer would be personal unconscious, which includes anything that's not blatantly
accessible to our awareness but can be.
This includes both memories that can be remembered and the painfully suppressed ones.
Then he adds a spectacularly unique world to our mind, called the collective unconscious.
It is a river of humanity's experiences; a knowledge that we are all born with.
Although we can't be conscious of it, it strongly influences our experiences, behaviours
and our relationship with our reality.
According to Jung, this collective unconscious begins even before we are born, like how the
physical organs form in the mother's womb.
The contents of this collective unconscious are called The Archetypes, and it is there
to influence how we behave in certain situations, and it stands outside of what we call reality.
The Innocent, The Caregiver, The Orphan, The Hero are some of the common ego types that
Jung describes.
But we could have endless debates about whether we are really free, or merely unconscious
actors mouthing dialogues and actions that the invisible script demands of us, but it
doesn't change the fact that we still feel in control, we feel guilty, sad, happy, proud,
and emotionally responsible for our actions.
These built in emotional responses go hand in hand in thinking that we are free, and
in turn I realize that the very construct of this reality depends upon this illusion
of freedom.
We might very well be puppets, but the whole existence depends upon us not realizing that.

Jürgen Klopp says Champions League tie with City will produce 'fire'
Jürgen Klopp has predicted "there will be fire" when Liverpool face Manchester City on Wednesday and believes that, at their best, his team can stand as equals with the Premier League's champions-elect.
Liverpool showed little of the verve they will need to achieve that in defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday, a performance Klopp said owed much to the staccato preparation necessitated by the international break.
The Champions League quarter-final first leg promises a different level of intensity and he believes the atmosphere inside Anfield will make for a gripping affair.
"If I had the choice to watch a Champions League game on Wednesday I would watch this one," Klopp said, before stopping short of suggesting strategy will go out of the window between two sides whose default setting is to attack.
"I think it's really not … it is about tactics but there will be fire in the game, so that's cool.
And it's at Anfield anyway, so a good atmosphere to watch.".
It would take something to outdo the fever that enveloped Liverpool's home in January, when they beat City 4-3 in perhaps the best match of this domestic season, but Klopp instantly referred to the 5-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium four months previously – in which Liverpool capitulated after Sadio Mané's dismissal – when asked what he learned from their previous meetings.
"Finish the game with 11 – that'd be cool," he said.

It's not clear exactly what's going to happen, but let's just look at one of the elements:

And that creates sort of an interesting situation because what happens in California, you go
across several mountain ranges, you get far away from the marine influence and you end
up in Sacramento valley and it can get really, really hot there.
And if climate change causes it to get even hotter, it will get even greater heat.
And what happens is that the air rises, that hot air rises, and as it rises, it sucks in
air from the west which is the marine air.
So in fact, there is a possibility that as California over all warms up, parts of southern
Napa will actually cool down because there will be a greater amount of the marine air.
