Come,

let's go on a journey through this lovely little town.

So quiet and peaceful,

Away from all the hustle and bustle,

right?

Wrong.

Would you like to tell them where you're off to?

"Internet class"

This is their internet class.

And this is their teacher,

Parveen Begum.

I'm an internet saathi.

I teach these women to use the internet.

And how does that help?

Who wants to answer that? Reshma.

Okay Google. Lemongrass Padmavati Internet Saathi.

This is Padmavati.

Nobody in her village had even heard of lemongrass,

but with the help of the internet,

Padma is now growing acres and acres of lemongrass in her fields.

Today,

her lemongrass oil is used in a variety of products across the country.

Mrs. Padmavati, who inspired you?

Parveen Begum

And stories like Padmavati's,

inspired many other people to do truly amazing things.

Like Riyaaz Anna from Channapatna.

This is the only place in the world where these figurines are made.

And to keep this ancient practice alive,

he learnt a brand new art-

Internet.

Today, they have made their way to cities all over the world.

And to be honest, getting a 4.8 star rating online is an art by itself.

Talking of artists,

there are many more...would you like to meet them?

Come on, then.

Ritik, Ritik, Ritik..

…ah, Ritik

Whoa!

Our friend Ritik is an artist too.

A national level martial artist.

And he practices his taekwondo at..

The railway station

That's right, the railway station

How's that, you ask?

That's how!

Ritik wants to be the national champion.

World Champion

Oh yeah sorry,

world champion.

So, he watches training videos of taekwondo champions from around the world.

People like Ritik have inspired thousands of others.

Some come here to study.

Some to teach.

Many like to entertain themselves.

And then there are those,

who come here to change the world.

Meet Girija and Vaishnavi.

They are app developers

who are working on a safety app to make their home town a safer place.

Their inspiration?

Our mentor, Senthil sir

Senthil Kumar.

Entrepreneur, teacher, but first of all, a coder,

who has made a life-saving health app for pregnant women.

In the village,

it is impossible for pregnant women to go to the hospital which is 20 km away.

I used code to make certain devices and apps

that bring the hospital to them in this crucial time.

But this story is not about technology.

Or even the internet.

This is...

Senthil's story

Ritik's story.

Riyaaz's and

Padmavati's story.

This is the story of millions of Indians who are finding new ways every day,

to change their lives and of those around them.

Inspiring each other.

Inspiring us.

Working on the Google Ads Sales Team - Duration: 3:29.

[Upbeat music]

I have worked with every single type of business that you could possibly imagine here at Google:

small mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500 companies.

Hey, my name is Emerson King. I am in the Mid-Market Ad Sales team here at Google.

So working in sales at Google means that

on a daily basis you're engaging with businesses that are trying to grow.

And you can do this through Google Ads,

which allows ads to show on YouTube, Google Search, and websites across the internet.

We work with these accounts for multiple quarters, sometimes years,

so we really go deep in terms of the relationship building.

The sales background from people on my team is really diverse.

There is a pod structure. We're a team of three.

You have the same targets and you work together.

It's really collaborative.

The impact on these businesses is incredible.

You can double a business and it's an everyday reality.

My name is Nicole Herrera.

I lead Hispanic Market Outreach for small and medium businesses, and I sit in our Ads organization.

So I used to work in direct sales at Google,

and I had always been really passionate about Latino small business owners,

so having that business background has been super helpful,

and now I've grown into a more strategic lead role.

I do a lot of events in the community,

so we do weekly workshops and help minority small business owners get access to online tools.

And that really is our goal, right,

to create economic impact and social impact in these communities

that really can benefit from learning about Google's tools.

My name is Dooyum Malu. I'm a software engineer on the Ads platform.

When we develop new features and new products,

we like to get a lot of feedback to make sure we're doing the right thing.

That's when the product team will come to us, the sales team, and say,

"Hey, we have these really cool new products.

We would love it if some of your clients could get involved."

Sometimes we shadow people in sales as they talk to our customers

to try and help them help users get through the problems that they've identified

and see why they even had that problem in the first place.

Our product teams are actually really interested in getting feedback from a diverse set of users,

and so we partner with them and allow them to have diverse businesses and people from the community

actually test out their products in our events.

And people from the community are thrilled to be able to give that direct feedback.

I have submitted many product ideas,

and over the last year or so, three of them have already gone live in the interface.

It's definitely a great feeling because feedback was actioned on by the product team.

I would argue that up until I joined this team I would not have had any idea of how to speak with a CEO.

That is something that is incredibly valuable that I've gotten through mentorship through my senior sellers,

my manager, even my director.

Because they're so involved, they have the ability to actually give actionable feedback.

Once you have the confidence in what you're selling as adding value to these businesses,

that's when you really start to succeed.

There's never a right answer for what's going to work well for any business.

It's just figuring out what to tweak, what levers to pull,

really understanding their business model,

and then you can match what Google offers to their own goals,

and that's where everyone wins.

JESSE: Have a good day?

STEPH: I did.

How was your day?

JESSE: It was good.

STEPH: We love to watch cooking shows together.

JESSE: All the time.

STEPH: And sometimes we'll get inspired to actually try

the dishes ourselves.

JESSE: You texted me "shepherd's pie"?

STEPH: Yeah, have you ever had it?

JESSE: I have not.

STEPH: And you're like, wow, how do they make this?

JESSE: Hey Google, find a recipe for shepherd's pie.

GOOGLE: OK, I got a recipe called "shepherd's pie"

from Food Network.

Does that sound good?

JESSE: Yes.

STEPH: Yes.

GOOGLE: First step, peel the potatoes

and cut into 1/2 inch diced.

JESSE: The onions are like--

[GASPING]

Hey Google, order more paper towels.

The best music to cook to, you go with like--

STEPH: I really love listening to the '90s.

GOOGLE: All right, check out the '90s Hit Song Station

on YouTube Music.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[LAUGHING]

STEPH: Hey Google, what's the next ingredient?

GOOGLE: 1/2 half cup cream.

For a lighter version, substitute vegetable or chicken

broth.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

STEPH: Hey Google, pause music.

Wait, you're putting it in there?

JESSE: Yes.

Right?

STEPH: Wait, that can't be right.

JESSE: Hey Google, repeat previous step.

GOOGLE: Cover and simmer slowly.

STEPH: It's helpful to be able to go back so that Google

can prove me right.

JESSE: Yeah, but once he--

potatoes are in.

STEPH: Yep.

Hey Google, set a timer for five minutes.

GOOGLE: OK, five minutes, starting now.

JESSE: Having multiple timers--

hey Google, set a pie timer for 25 minutes.

GOOGLE: Second timer for 25 minutes.

JESSE: Game changer.

Hey Google, call Mom.

GOOGLE: Calling Mom.

[PHONE RINGING]

SPEAKER: Hello?

JESSE: Hi, mom.

It's Jesse, and I'm on with Steph.

SPEAKER: Hi, kids.

JESSE: We're making a shepherd's pie.

SPEAKER: I'm sure that she did all the work.

STEPH: She knows.

She knows, she knows.

Cheers.

JESSE: Hey Google, give me some applause.

Kai is very chill, mellow, a little more introverted.

KAI JAFFE: Hey, Dad, what's 283 times 211?

(GIGGLING) Hey, Google, help me with my homework.

GOOGLE: Let me see if I can help.

I can do all kinds of calculations,

give you definitions, or tell you about specific people

or events.

KAI JAFFE: What's 383 times 211?

GOOGLE: The answer is 80,813.

MR. JAFFE: That's a hard math problem.

and you see how much they connect to one another.

KAI JAFFE: Hey, Google, drop a beat.

[BEATS]

MR. JAFFE: We have this assistant at home now

that helps us.

Keyword research training: Determining traffic potential - Google Trends - Duration: 1:04.

In this screen cast we are going to explore how to use Google Trends

to measure the frequency of your keywords.

First of all let's take a quick look at Google Trends as a whole

to get an idea of how the tool works.

Once you visit trends.Google.com you see a search bar at the top of the page.

This is where you can enter your queries.

You can enter up to five different queries at the same time

to compare their search volumes.

So let's start by entering the head keywords we came up with earlier.

"Solar panel",

"Insulate home",

and "Saving energy".

Just put commas in between the terms to separate them.

What we see then is a graph of the search interest over time.

Which is color-coded, so you can see that "solar panel" at the top has a blue circle

and the graph also shows the blue line.

And "insulate home" has a red circle and has the red line etc.
