Youtube daily how Aug 1 2018

Hello my dear friends!

Tonight we will learn how to make

Wolf Sound!

We will learn how to imitate the voice of this beautiful strong animal

How the Wolf sings,

how the Wolf embodies its Energy

It is not easy. I want to warn you that

we will need a lot of practice and time

to master this skill

But patience and work will do all well.

So tonight we are starting

from this amazing animal

our new tutorials,

our new video-lessons

How to make Nature Sounds.

From the start I want to explain you some secrets

To start and feel how to do it from inside

with our mouth, voice, tongue and etc.

I will call it "staff")))

we have to train our staff to speak

the English letter "R" !

in Russian we say it little bit differently

And now I invite you to produce this sound "R" with me

For example

you can spell the words

with "R"

Please feel and remember the position

of your tongue in your mouth

Your tongue turns into a scapula that

tucks to the upper palate.

and from that feeling and sound we will start

to make a Wolf Howling

The main secret it is a

to believe that you are this Wolf

don't try just to imitate

don't try just to copy the Wolf

Just believe, just imagine yourself this Wolf

And than people who listening you will believe you too

So please imagine that You are Wolf -

Beautiful, Free,

Strong and Great

Please close your eyes

(It helps to imagine easier)

Remember what the Wolf does

when howls to the Moon

Wolf pulls the neck

Lets make this position together

Pull your spine, pull your neck

Pull your throat, make your tongue "R" - position

and lets try to howl from the down to the up

Imagine the beautiful full Moon

It is a very important

to believe in what you are doing. Lets try...

Dont change the position of your tongue

It have to stay in this stuck-position under your upper palate

in the position of letter "R"

Lets try again, the sound should be muffled

we need to pull our lips

The Wolf has a long face

So we have to imagine that our face is long too

Your lips should be "in tube" - position

The tongue is curved

Take a breath

Please don't try to make very loud

and very high note

we don't need it )

Today we are don't making the puppy-sound

We make a sound of the adult Wolfs

and one more important moment

The song of the Wolf dont stop at this high note

Wolf makes one thing...I will show you

Here we have 3 main notes

From the down to the up

Transition

we have to learn how to make this "end" of howling

how to make it correct

Lets try together. Please keep your throat free

Dont clench

Dont strangle your voice

Feel the channel, feel the pipe inside your body

from the down, from the stomach

to your throat

the air should to go very easy

but when you doing the howling

don't try to breathe with your nose or mouth

We working only with exhale

so lets try

Take a comfortable your own position

Dont try to make sound at the same note with me

Feel your comfortable note

Lets try. Make the "R"

Believe that you are Wolf

Imagine, close your eyes,

Spread your shoulders

Pride, beauty, freedom. Lets go...

You can hear in my voice

some hoarse, double voice

It will come with time and practice

And please don't strangle your throat, do not strain

We try again...

Together...

Please don't do it with sadness

Please do it with a feeling of Pride, with a Freedom

And the main thing - to Believe and take pleasure!!

I wish you success!

If you have any questions

doubts or didn't understand something

you can ask me. Please do not hesitate!

But the main secrets are opened already:

It is an English letter "R" (pronounce)

Believe in what you doing. Right position of your body

Imagination...

And its really very important

To feel yourself this Wolf

If you believe to yourself

So everybody will believe you too!

So I wish you Good Luck again and for the finish

lets try again together...

See you soon! Yours Wolf Olena UUTAi )

Practice, share your impressions, ask your questions, put your fingers up!

Love, kiss and hugs!

How to Use EndNote in 6 Minutes: Macintosh - Duration: 6:11.

How to Use EndNote in 6 Minutes Macintosh

This video will give you a fast start on using EndNote.

It will show you—

How to create an EndNote Library.

Two ways to import a reference from an online database, using PubMed as an example.

How to create a custom group and add references to it.

How to use Find Full Text to download PDFs for references.

How to insert a reference in a Word document.

How to format a bibliography, using the APA style as an example.

How to add page numbers to a citation.

On Macintosh, EndNote will automatically create your first library.

To create an EndNote library, select New from the File menu.

EndNote will name the library "My EndNote Library" but the name can be changed.

Do not save it in any cloud syncing folders,

such as those for Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive.

Syncing folders such as these will corrupt the EndNote library over time.

Also, do not save it to a network drive.

EndNote libraries should be kept on your computer's hard drive.

Click the Save button to save the new library.

The first method of importing is Online Search.

In EndNote, click the Online Search Mode button.

Select the online database you want to search.

There are thousands more available, these are just the most popular ones.

Build your search.

Click the Search button to perform the search.

Click the OK button.

Select the references you want in the list.

Click the Copy to Local Library button.

Click the Local Library Mode button to see the contents of your EndNote library.

The references you just copied are shown in the temporary Copied References group.

To create a permanent group for your references,

select Create Group from the Groups menu.

Enter the name of your group and press Return.

Select the references to add to the new group and drag them into the group.

Another method of importing references is direct export.

I am going to import some references from PubMed as an example,

but this method can be used with many other online databases.

I am using Firefox for this example because it supports direct export

on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

Direct export will not work with Safari.

Perform your search of the online database in your browser.

Select the references you want to import.

For PubMed, mark the references to select them.

Click the Send to link, then select Citation Manager.

The link or button to start direct export

may be called different things by different data providers.

Look for something that talks about saving, exporting, or importing references.

If offered a choice of formats, select the one that mentions EndNote or RIS.

For PubMed, selecting Citation Manager will save it in the correct format for direct export.

Click Create File.

Firefox will ask if you want to open the file and what program you want to open it with.

Select EndNote.

For Macintosh, you will need to navigate to the EndNote folder in Applications

to select the EndNote application.

Click the OK button.

On the Macintosh, the references might import right into your open library

or you might be asked to select a library.

The new references are shown in the Imported References temporary group.

Drag the new references to the permanent group they should belong to.

To have EndNote try to find the PDFs for references, select the references,

then click the Find Full Text button.

If EndNote is able to find the PDFs,

you will see paperclip icons appear by the references.

After a reference is in the EndNote library, it can be added to a Word document.

In Word, click where you want to put an EndNote citation.

Then click the Go to EndNote button.

Select the reference or references you want to insert.

Click the Insert Citation button.

The reference is inserted into your paper and instantly formatted.

To change the style, click the Configure Bibliography button.

Be sure the option to link citations to the bibliography is unmarked

until you are finished working with the document,

to avoid jumping to the bibliography whenever you click in a citation.

Select the style from the list of favorites.

If your favorite style is not showing, you can use the Browse button to see more styles.

Click the OK button.

To add page numbers to a citation, click on the citation,

then click the Edit & Manage Citation(s) button.

Add page numbers to the Pages field, then click the OK button.

EndNote can do a lot more than this.

If you would like to learn more,

there are many training resources available in the EndNote LibGuide.

Archangel Michael shares how Humans will live to be up to 200 years of age! - Duration: 9:00.

hello everyone its Kelly Hampton I thought I would share with you today

Archangel Michael's guidance about aging and the realities that we can look

forward to so I would like to begin Archangel Michael recently shared with

me we have been working toward this evolution the idea that humans will live

up to 200 years of age and 80 year olds will look like 50 year olds and that

aging is not inevitable, that's the evolution we've been working toward with

mankind for over 350,000 years since the earliest of times, revolutionary

advancements have been more recently made in the last 300 years with more

advances heightened dramatically over the last 10 to 15 years

do you know dear ones that souls and other dimensions have lifespans into

their hundreds easily, do you also know that the Theolosians living in pockets of

your earth, but most noticeably underground Mount Shasta California have

a healthy life span over 600 years, by the way if you're just listening to this

I'll be leading my fourth retreat to Mount Shasta California this September

and you're welcome to of course visit my web site if it moves you to see when the

next retreats will be, it's a wonderful magical place, to continue, also many of

the so-called lost civilizations such as Lemuria, Atlantis and others were known

to have been referred to as ageless so you see the concept of present human

aging is not a new concept, what is newer is your world's coming of

age, how is this done you may ask, Michael continued to say,

it's done through a variety of means, gene-splicing is one way, removal of

implants is another which is a large part of what is done through the star

Healing intergalactic energy system, which, if you're not familiar with that

system that was shared with me by Archangel Michael in 2010, to continue to

Michael's guidance, purifying all toxins is another, elevated thinking is another

these are means of youth-ing ourselves, some of them anyway, he goes on

to tell us that the removal of implants allows human and animal cells to return

the original god state free from disease and dysfunction, and again from my work

on my standpoint that's done through the star healing intergalactic energy

healing system which is fifth dimensional, ninth dimensional, 33rd

dimensional in nature, it is not impossible for mankind to easily

live into their hundreds and Beyond pain-free and without decay, as a result

this will be our world in twenty to thirty years, some are experiencing this

now, with systems like the star healing intergalactic energy allowing for this

possibility to occur sooner than later by also restructuring the mind and by

removing any additional implants there, so I do plan to do some additional

teachings on my channel here in greater detail about how the star system

does that, to continue Michael shared this last one, elevated thinking is not a

new concept either, what one thinks one becomes we often say, also that where

there is peace and calm there can be no illness in the body, implants were placed

within the genetic composition of humankind by the Anunnaki, a warlike

civilisation determined to overtake humans by suppression

this however does not mean that souls who have not had their implants removed

or transformed are not capable of long healthy lives but they are the exception

rather than the rule, the number of souls advancing in the later ages is

staggering, here is some information to consider Michael said, and 2018 we expect

a 25 to 30 percent rise in souls on your planet who live into their 80s and 90s,

many disease-free somewhere between 2018 and 2025 50 %, michael says, of the

world's population will commonly live in their hundreds and very healthy

just imagine, Michael goes on to say I hear your collective thoughts rise now,

what about all the people living in poverty

angels surely you're not including them? what about diseases like cancer surely

you're not including these souls are you? what about chemtrails angel?

they are polluting our air our land our bodies with chemicals like aluminum

barium and lithium reports of respiratory conditions are increasing

not decreasing, what about genetically modified organisms? GMOs? are scientists

really looking for a cure to cancer and other diseases? and Michael's response is

this, the white Brotherhood of light is aware of these things and more, we, they,

you, everyone, is contributing to the eradication of these harmful effects by

working more fully with healing energies by waking up through increased awareness

by envisioning the world you wish your children to live in and taking action we

the collective of Archangels anticipate the chemtrail markings to diminish

starting in the latter half of 2018 with more movement in 2019 and 2020 the

select few who control everything on your planet

continue to crumble and fall more, news of crumbling will be learned in 2018

more advocates for healthy life and goodness will rise from all sectors of

the globe, and as far as global poverty goes we have millions of light councils

within the earth globally repairing underground tunnels and battling dark

forces there ,we are also working and winning in cosmic battles friends, do not

be manipulated into believing that the world is nothing but hatred this is what

you're being asked to think, do not be manipulated into believing that the

Illuminati will continue to thrive look what is happening recently, uncovering

pedophiles and dark worship, in addition much more light will come into fighting

large conglomerates whose main aim is greed to keep the people in poverty, in

poverty, and those in disease, to stay in disease, with the Ascension energy the

weeds will be trampled down by the footprints of love, there will be no more

cancers, there will be no more infectious diseases, no more heart disease and very

few premature deaths.

Thank you Archangel Michael, thanks everybody for listening, liking,

subscribing, and sharing my channel. expect miracles and expect a joy-filled

life, as Michael shared with me in his first book many years ago, into the white

light - the Revelations of Archangel Michael, expect the best, expect miracles,

expect a joy-filled life, these things were granted to us all the day we were

born, namaste!

How to Identify & Express Your Needs in Marriage - Duration: 6:19.

In this video, we are going to teach you how to identify and express your needs in your

marriage.

We are Casey and Meygan Caston, cofounders of Marriage365, which is a nonprofit dedicated

to helping couples connect.

And let me just talk about communication for a second.

It is what connects us.

And so often we assume that our spouse should just know what we're feeling, what we're thinking,

why we're feeling and thinking that and then how to meet our needs at that exact moment.

And what this does, it sets us up for failure.

It's staying "you should just know" and then the other spouse is going "but I don't know"

and so it's very important that you learn how to identify what you need and then how

to communicate it in the healthiest way possible.

And when we have this pattern of unhealthy communication it leads to this disconnection.

And I'm going to tell you, that was our story, okay.

I did not know how to clearly communicate my needs or what I was feeling to Meygan and

so that left her feeling very lonely in our relationship because some sort of façade

showed up and it wasn't really me.

The only reason why I knew how to communicate my needs is because I went to therapy.

Yes, true!

Someone taught me how to do that.

That's right!

And this is why we have to address this in relationships.

Because loneliness first of all is on the rise in our culture, but also loneliness is

on the rise even inside of marriage.

And loneliness is the breeding ground for affairs and addictions because we use others,

we use things to numb the pain, rather than communicating and saying "this is what I need"

we kind of just internalize it and just try to take care of it ourselves.

So, we just finished our webcast on how to identify and communicate and express those

needs and we went over four steps on how to do that, how to set up the right conversation

and our first step, I want to share a couple of points with you.

The first step is really to identify that.

And, as a culture, we don't take time to self-evaluate, to assess what we're experiencing.

And it doesn't require much time, but it requires time.

Yeah.

So, our encouragement is you take five minutes and just sit back and say "hey, how is this

working out for me?

Am I really happy or am I masking pain?"

"What do I really need from my spouse?"

I think a lot of times we just go to the conversation and we don't actually know what we need and

we just talk and talk and talk and then nothing changes.

Exactly!

Figure out what you need and we actually have a very helpful kind of like a cheat sheet

document that goes along with this webcast and it's called Expressing Your Needs.

A lot of you that are not natural communicators you don't know what you need.

You've never taken the time.

And so we're here to help.

This is why we've created Naked Conversations and these webcasts is to show you, not just

learn from us and our video, but now to take it to the next step and sit down and look

at this and say "wow, I need you to put down your phone, I need you to be more affectionate

with me, I need your support, I need to hear your frustrations" - all of these things,

we've got two full pages of it!

And I think that we don't know what we need oftentimes.

So, when we read these statements, you can identify and go "yes, that is exactly what

we need."

Yes, it's like we're putting your words for you in your mouth.

Okay, the second step is you need to figure out the goal for the conversation.

What outcome do you want to see?

Are you wanting to sit down and just vent to your spouse and have them listen without

interrupting?

That's actually okay, there's nothing wrong with that.

But you need to communicate that before you sit down with your spouse.

Are you wanting to brainstorm ideas because you're wanting and seeking change in your

marriage?

You need to communicate that before you sit down, this is really about setting up the

right expectations for the conversation.

Now, where we get into trouble is if we want to nag, complain, criticize... all the things

that our spouse is doing wrong, everything they're saying wrong and we just want to explode

on them and release all of our anger and frustration.

That, my friends, will get you into dangerous territory and that just breaks that disconnection

and trust or that breaks the connection, causes disconnection, breaks trust and of course

the next time you communicate you're going to be more hesitant, especially your spouse,

because you just nagged at them for an hour and then you're not communicating anymore

in healthy ways.

And actually we go through these tips on how to identify your needs, how to set up the

conversation up right, how to initiate and how to even prepare for that conversation.

Because practice makes perfect when it comes to communication!

You're right, exactly.

And so we give you a formula on how to communicate that as well, but I think probably one of

the most exciting things about our webcast was we actually model that behavior, we talked

about initiating sex, household chores, and even boundaries with tech...

Real issues that we struggle with in our marriage that we know we're not alone and you do too!

Yes, but we modeled what would a healthy conversation look like and we hear from you guys all the

time you need healthy role models and so we encourage you to check out our webcast, check

it out on Naked Conversations, start your free 7-day trial.

Of course, not only are you going to get this webcast and the work sheet, but you're going

to get a whole document library full of cheat sheets for your relationship like the Feelings

Words List... the Love Lists!

That's right.

There's so many.

There's so many, we could sit here for hours and talk about all that's included in your

membership and it's so powerful that when you subscribe to Naked Conversations you will

see positive changes in your marriage.

You will see quick wins in your marriage.

You are not going to want to miss this specific webcast because communication is what connects

us.

That's right!

Alright, thanks guys!

Rock Climbing Tips: How to do Dynamic Movement in detail - Duration: 5:19.

hey what's up guys this is oswaldo from rockentry welcome back to the channel

and if you're new here welcome today we're gonna talk about dynamic moves now

I'm gonna share with you guys what's an efficient way to do a dynamic move what

it takes and what not to do now this is a short route but it's a really

straight forward on how to throw for those holes alright let's do this

now I want to climb this route with you guys together from the start showing you what

works and what doesn't for instance here is a good example of what I'm doing

wrong and what I do in order to make that move happen

now here back to back on the left side you can see right off the back I'm

starting off with my body away from the wall once again when your body's away

from the wall gravity is working against you it's so much harder for you to get

up from this position now on the right side what I do before I even start I

actually pull in as close as I can to the wall

this way my hips are as close as I can to the wall when reaching out to the

first hold

now another thing I'm doing here is smearing notice that I actually used the

wall with my right foot I'm smearing and I press in while I'm pulling with my

right hand now it is possible to do it without the smear but if I can add a

smear that would take away a lot more energy from my hand again we're trying

to climb efficiently here alright moving on to the first dynamic move now we're

setting up here but as you can tell the footwork is already awful like I'm not

really placing them right so here it's obvious I'm not putting enough pressure

on my feet to get to this hold now in order to do this throw properly I really

need to press with my feet and keep this foot in place

now I would seriously suggest to do what I call an explosive move so what I mean

by this is when launching to this hold here really really press with your feet

get used to that get used to pressing really hard pulling in and reaching out

which I highly suggest to practice because you would get it with practice

and that's an explosive move

now you have to do this simultaneously you press pull and reach now as always

you have to keep that core tight if you don't this foot would easily slip off

now in that attempt as soon as I reach out to the next hold I cut feet you

don't want to cut feet just to cut feet if you can control your movement as much

as possible you end up climbing a lot more efficient here's a good example

notice on the right side I release the toe when I want to

note there's variations of dynamic moves there's so many variations but here I

really wanted to focus on one specific move that's used a lot and it's really

helpful for you if you practice this if you get this down you can do so much

with it awesome guys if you find this useful or helpful in any way please do

hit that like button and if you haven't yet subscribe so you can get more

climbing tip videos just like this thank you so much for watching love you so

much and I'll see you next time

HOW TO CONVERT MORE READERS (COMPEL VISITORS TO DO WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO) - Duration: 6:53.

In my video last week, I spoke about how people love to read about themselves, and see their

lives reflected in the copy they read.

I talked about how people are selfish.

And the reason we're selfish is, because our brains are wired that way, it helps us survive.

We can't help it.

but do you want to know what else we are besides selfish?

We are also lazy.

Now before you protest, hear me out.

I'll let you know why in this video, and how we can use this to our advantage when we're

creating our copy.

And if you stick to the very end, I'll let you know how you can receive some bonus copywriting

tips.

And in every video I do ... I give you proven copywriting advice that will result in more

conversions, so make sure you subscribe to my channel.

And of course click the notification bell, so you can be notified every Tuesday when

I release a new video.

All right.

So I've called people selfish, and now I'm calling us lazy.

What do I mean by calling us lazy?

Well, we're not really lazy, we just want to expend as little energy as possible, in

order for us to survive.

It's just like being selfish, it's all an attempt to keep ourselves alive.

And when we create copy that makes our readers think too much, or jump through too many hoops

to perform the action that we want them to take, they're likely not going to stick around.

It's up to us to write copy, that connects the dots for readers, to make things easy

for them.

We shouldn't be making things easy for ourselves.

So, I want you to do something.

I want you to look at something you've written recently.

That could be something on your website, an email, or a social media post.

And look at it through the perspective of your reader, and remember your reader likely

doesn't have as much information about that topic, as you do.

so you need to make sure you're writing it at their level.

And as you're reading it, ask yourself, "Is this really easy to understand?

Have I made it really easy for them, to take the action that I want them to take?"

Okay.

So, if you've made it easy for them, please comment below, "It's easy."

And congratulations, if you have.

If you haven't, don't worry.

We don't purposely set out to make things difficult for our readers.

It's just that we know our businesses, or services, or products, or topics so well,

that we can forget what it's like to have no knowledge.

So sometimes we'll end up skipping steps, but this just leaves gaps of information for

our reader.

Or we make them jump through too many hoops, to perform the action that we want them to

perform.

Again, we don't do this on purpose to make things difficult for them, we're actually

just trying to make things easier for ourselves.

We're human too, we want to survive.

So, I'm gonna show you an example today.

This is of a website that I find makes the reader do all the hard work.

Let's take a look at it now.

Innovation for Prosperity.

So, let's stop right here.

When you look at this headline, do you know what this business is?

Is this a banking business?

Is it a technology business?

We don't know, it could be for anything.

Then under the headline and hero image, there's a new section that reads, "We develop teams,

design innovation programs, accelerate ventures to advance collective prosperity."

Again, this is still vague.

They are starting to be more specific, but we still don't know what they do, or what

kind of business or organization they are.

Then we scroll down some more, and it starts to become more clear.

We help build businesses and startups, to create a thriving economy in emerging and

frontier markets.

Okay.

Emerging and frontier markets, these words are the specific ones, that readers really

need higher up.

you're really taking a chance that people are going to be patient, and take the time

to figure out what you mean.

They are more likely to move on.

you're making them think too much, and do too much work to figure it out.

And despite what looks like an organization that does good, important work, they've just

made things difficult for their readers.

First with being vague and unclear, but they have this call to action button at the top,

"Let's connect, email us".

So I clicked, and I got this.

It says, "You want to hire us, book us for conferences, apply for a job or internship,

or just grab a cup of coffee?

Email us."

now it looks like they're being friendly, which is great.

But again, they're taking some big chances that their readers are highly motivated, and

want to go through this work to understand what they do, and then to contact them.

Do they really want people to email them, to ask them to go to coffee?

Probably not.

It's cute and it's friendly, and shows some personality, which is good.

But it's also jumbled up with "Hire us, book us for conferences, and apply for a job."

but this is a Contact Us page, so of course this is an opportunity to get in touch with

them, with whatever it is you want to reach out about.

It makes me wonder if they provide more specific contact information elsewhere on the site.

For instance, if we take one of those things they say you can contact them for, such as

book us for conferences ... let's take a look for that.

So, I saw that, and I wanted to look through their site to see where they actually offer

information about speaking at conferences.

I didn't actually find it.

I did find their page that offers training.

It appears in the navigation menu, and is listed as "Rewire Teams".

This would be a very good example of being clever, instead of being clear.

This example shows you, how not connecting the dots for your readers makes it very challenging

to get them to do what it is you want them to do, while they are there.

They are making me do a lot of work, just to find what I'm looking for.

It's really important for us to be very clear, so it's easy for our readers to figure out.

All right.

That was today's copywriting tip.

How To Straighten Louis Vuitton Neverfull Handles! (OVERNIGHT) - Duration: 2:26.

hi everyone today we're going to talk about how to keep your louis vuitton

never full handbag straps up now if you have one of these handbags or know

someone with these handbags these strat tend to slumps inside which is very

frustrating now I've had this back here for about a year just over a year now

and as you can see the straps are still holding up

I literally wear this bag every single day so I have a really great trick on

how to keep your straps upright and maintain your back so first of all if

you want to take everything out of your bag so let's dive in now one thing that

you don't what I do is I wear this bag every single day so it is my holy grail

of holograms it holds all myself my life my books mine by my water bottles my

keys my lipstick my everything so what I actually got was a bag organizer which

really helps everything in the bag kind of have a place as well as makes it

really easy for me to take everything out in one go but what you want to do at

the end of every day when you come home you're not going to be using your bag

anymore is to take everything out so as I said I have this really great bag

organizer it holds everything in one go everything's in there just like that and

now all of a sudden my bag is completely empty so now we'll jump over and I'll

show you guys what it is that I do to help my strap stay steady great so you

want to jump into your wardrobe and grab those two hangers awesome so as you can

see it but one of the hangers hanging behind me so what you want to do is you

want to overlap the two so you've got the hook hanging down now this is just a

really simple DIY trick I'm pretty sure you could probably get some special

hangers that will do the trick for you I like those bag hooks would work really

well up there but I'm just using the coat hanger so you want to clip in your

bag like so now you want to make sure that the straps are held are fold

incorrectly and the right way so that one would have split that around so they

smoothly like that clip it in and there you go it's as simple as that

great guys and just like that we've got it hanging and we'll leave it there for

overnight so about eight at eight to ten hours and I'll be able to grab my bag

chuck this back in it and I'll be ready to go with some nice handles I have held

its shape when I drop it down please like and subscribe this video and I will

see you guys in the next one

How David Pierce manages his life with Notion - Duration: 12:57.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another feature here on the Keep Productive YouTube channel, my name is Francesco

And today we've got David Pierce from The Wall Street Journal on me and David just finished up doing a feature for the tools

They use podcast

Which will be available on YouTube as well for you to go and enjoy because we did a video with it

But David is going to take us through a really exciting application that were both pretty interested at which is notion

And David did a great piece in

Wsj?

Maybe it was at March wasn't it? I think that's right. Yeah. Yeah. It was a great piece. I'll include it below for everyone

Who's listening along?

all about how he uses notion and I guess progressively how notion is

Changing the space. So David's actually gonna share his notion account for us today

So, I think it's gonna be quite exciting. So I'll pass over to you David to give you a call

alright

First I'm going to figure out how to share my screen which we will we will see

See how this goes

Yeah

Yes, okay, this is very exciting, okay, so this is my notion

It's relatively straightforward the I don't know if you feel this way Francesco, but I find myself spending

Way too much time doing things like adding icons and covers to every page that I have that sound right to you. Okay?

Yes, I have yeah, I'm totally with you and so I have

basically three things

I'll walk you through how I do my to-do list in a minute because that's where I've spent most of my time trying to figure

things out but basically the the setup is trying to

Bring all of my personal stuff and all of my work stuff kind of into one place. So the personal stuff is

Relatively straightforward. That's that's me. That's little David emoji, I guess and this is basically just a

Rough list of sort of all the things going on in my life. This is like stuff I want to do in 2018

This is like a links for a Flipboard magazine. I have that I keep forgetting to add stuff to this is like

I

Travel a lot for work. So I actually I don't know if this is

Updated or not? It should be I need to put more things in the packing list

This is so

like things that I want to do in, California

And a lot of this I'm still sort of in the process of moving over from Evernote

But one of the things I really like about this is that instead of just pasting links

It actually gives you this kind of stuff so I can be like, oh, right. I do want to go to the Big Sur hotels

And then I just got married. So this is a mercifully short list now

But it used to be much longer and much more full of things

And that was my vows, which I will not show you

and then I have this is things like my loyalty numbers for

Hotels and airlines and one things I really like about it is I can just from any page just go in and like type

Delta which and then it'll show my Delta number

This is where I have tried so many times to keep something like a bullet journal in Evernote and then again in notion and

In either case it hasn't really stuck

But I've always kind of liked the idea of having I don't even know what's gonna be actually yes

So this was like there was a while especially when I was writing the piece where I was trying to keep sort of a day-to-day

This is actually the wrote about notion

Okay, so this is actually good example. So this is

what I do for work is I have

one of these pages for every story I write basically and so it's

Like these are this is notes from a story or notes from something. I read about business apps

These are notes from interviews that I did for it. This is

Information about different apps and the fact that you can have these toggles in notion is one of my absolute favorite things

This sort of collapsible bullets is just wildly helpful

And I have this set up as a template. So it'll give it'll give me the these colors and these headers for everyone

So I can plan the video I can plan I can outline the piece

I've gotten these have gotten more full in in pieces after that. I got better and better at notion as time went on

so it's my personal stuff and it's

sort of increasingly

filling up with with

Recipes and things that I like and I can just sort of jump into here anytime. I need anything

by the one thing that I try to be good at on the internet is

Anytime I see something I like just saving it and then eventually it'll come back and be useful to me again

And so that's not always true

But just having a place in here where I can dump stuff has been great and the place where I dump stuff

Is this this is the inbox?

So this is a portlet poorly spelled version of somebody told me I need to watch the show Person of Interest

I'm going to and then these are like links that are interesting or people that I think I should talk to you and

We're having a party on July 28th. Everyone's invited. Um

So, yeah, so that's that and then this is actually

For a column and writing right now with oh, yeah. Well I have interviewed for

This is like I I'm writing about streaming music. And so this is a photo I spent way too long getting for the cover and

Basically, like stories and stats and notes that I've taken and people I interviewed and stuff like that

so

Yeah, this inbox part is really important to me though, and it's setting up templates

Like this has been the best thing for me about notion

I don't know if this has been your experience

But it's been it's a little weird when you're just on a page to know where to put stuff. Mmm

So I'm having a thing, especially on mobile that I can just click and be like don't forget to call dad

Sort of sets it up as like it just makes it easier to put new things in there

My favorite part where I spend too much time, what's up?

I was really gonna I was gonna say I really like the way that you're using the

Sort of emojis and also the the colors of the headers. Do you change the colors of the headers then I

I do. I don't know if I do for all of them probably like a template or something of that

Yeah. Yeah, I think that's about right

Let's see. What's a good example? So this is this I spend a lot of time. Do you know this website unsplash.com I do

Yeah, I spent a lot of time on that site looking for the pictures

Look great, and and I like them very much. So this is like shopping list for different things

I need from different places and then whenever I go somewhere and buy stuff it all goes into there

And then eventually I'll just delete this page and start another one because I found that keeping completed things is not useful. Yeah

so then I also have a page for

All the stuff I want to get to and so this is I think my favorite one is probably this one

These are like books that I would like to read and so anytime somebody recommends a book it goes in here

Yes, and then I can drop it into okay. I need to read this

and

yeah, it's to read and it's nonfiction and

Then it goes out of this list and sometimes if I'm feeling really ambitious. I'll put a like an Amazon link. I

Finished this one so that can go in there

and so this this becomes sort of the tracker for everything I want to and am reading and

It's been incredibly handy because often I'll be like I don't feel like reading something and then wind up just reading old books or watching

old movies that I've already seen

Yeah, so it's it's been nice to have something. That's like, oh no, here are the new things they usually be yeah

Which I like a lot. I really like that. That's

To be honest like mine. My read one is so much like I don't include the recommendations in there

But I think that's something that I've taken away from that straightaway just to include the recommendations. It's really neat

Yeah, it's been really helpful for me. I mean even the ones I don't end up taking I delete stuff from this list without

Actually reading it all the time but having just being able to be like, oh, right

That was that book that that person was talking about and it's back to sort of the same thing

just having this one place where everything that has been on my mind at one point or another is

Even if I get decide to get rid of it and never care about it again

Just like yeah that idea of like what was that thing? The answer is always it's in notion somewhere. Yeah

I

think and then the last thing I don't know how much of this I should actually show you but this is this is where at

this is the this is my

Sort of to-do list and I have changed this a million times I have used

Notion has this great

uh

Agenda thing that I really like is one which I have tried to use many times

But it has some awkward things and doesn't work super well for me

So I wind it back on something like this, which is more work to manage

but does the job and this is always nice to do today and

Later this week. Luckily. This list is starting to get short. These are like big projects. I'm working on and

Yeah, and then having these reminders

That have started to show up in notion where it can actually like ping your phone when something is due

yeah has been a big change for me because it's one of the tricky things just like

I've always thought about this with

with

Productivity apps is like where do I put pay rent?

because I need to remember to do it and you remember to do it every week and technically it's

You know a thing it is a task to do. Yeah

And so having reminders for it has been has been huge

They they haven't released the recurring have they yet, but that's that would just round it off will now

Yeah, I'm told it's coming if they do recurring and then improve the calendar thing so it can actually integrate your calendar

I will just never leave notion ever again. They're looking at in the API right next. Yes

Change things when they're yeah when I when I met with them a while ago, he was talking about doing like a two-way

google, calendar sync and I sort of freaked out sitting in their office just listening to them talk about it, but

So so yeah, I mean that's kind of the that's kind of the run of it

It's relatively. This is sort of a similar version of all the stuff I have for for work different meeting notes

And and this is like I went to a sonís event and this is just like all the notes all the notes

I took sitting there

And all of it is searchable. All of it is

Easily available. I can share individual pages. It's it's extremely handy. I love it. I love it

And so I can delete that

You've you've gone like much further than I expected

Like I mean, I've saw some of the screenshots in your article, but was like, actually this has made my notion. You look really weak

It's all our games

No, that's that's really really insightful. Thank you. David. My pleasure and I will say can I offer one tip?

oh, yeah, my the absolute best thing to me about notion has been the different views of

these

boards and tables and I feel like I'm only just starting to

Experiment with them and understand them

so like I have this one table of all of my tasks and I can group them in any way I need to and

move stuff around and see it all in totally different ways and

It's just this like incredibly

Powerful tool kind of unlike anything I've ever seen

before and you can like change how it's grouped and how you what what shows up and

I was when I was with the notion crew

They they were showing me the the how they do

tasks and they have like 50 different views and it was just the wildest most impressive thing I've ever seen so

That would be anybody wants to like really go pro with the notion start messing with that stuff. I love it. That's amazing

Thank you David. Where can everyone find you? I'm just is this round off name? Sure

I am a personal tech columnist for The Wall Street Journal so you can find me at wsj.com and in the Wall Street Journal

I'm also on Twitter @pierce and I am always always always on Twitter so you can find me there lovely jubbly

Thank you David coming on I'll include some timestamps as well. So that people can skip forward

But it's been absolutely wonderful having you both on the podcast and on YouTube. So, thank you David. Thank you. Appreciate it. Cheers

You

How 52-hour working week system has changed S. Koreans' lives since July 1st - Duration: 2:54.

Wednesday marks one month since the South Korean government introduced a 52-hour working

week system.

Under the change, both private and public companies with 3-hundred or more employees

are required to reduce maximum working hours to 52 hours per week from the previous 68.

Our Ko Roon-hee sheds light on how this has changed the work environment in Korea.

Here at a cable manufacturing company in Anyang, south of Seoul, employees get ready to leave

work every day at 5:20 p.m. Computers are programmed to alert workers

on how much time is left until the PCs shut down.

The 52-hour working week system has changed how employees like Lee Seoung-o spend their

evenings.

"Now that I have more time, I looked for new activities I can do after work.

Recently, I have become interested in table tennis."

For people who work at big firms implementing the 52-hour maximum workweek system, the biggest

change over the past month is a better work-life balance.

Many look for ways to enjoy their hobbies after work…and some businesses say they've

already seen in increase in customers coming in the evening.

"I've seen more office workers coming in after work since July... after the 52-hour working

system was implemented.

I think it's because they can leave work earlier.

I've seen four to five new people coming in to play each week."

To help companies smoothly adjust to the change... the Ministry of Labor monitored more than

3,600 businesses that have been implementing the 52-hour working week system since July

1st.

The ministry said last week that more than 800 businesses implementing the new system

hired almost 10-thousand new employees.

But although these moves might have helped big companies...

its quite a different story for smaller ones.

"Many think companies with fewer than 300 people are not affected by the reduced working

hours, but small and medium sized businesses say they face their own hardships."

"Many large companies use small and medium sized businesses as subcontractors.

So SMEs are directly affected.

Also, some small businesses experienced a decrease in workload in July.

I think this is because many big companies are reluctant to jump into new industries."

A professor of sociology says the government should monitor and support small companies...

to successfully prepare for future implementations.

"For small and medium sized businesses, it is difficult to keep track of when their employers

show up or leave work.

The government should provide consulting or funding in regards to this system."

Ko Roon-hee, Arirang News.

How To Achieve Peace Of Mind In Daily Life - Duration: 11:46.

Is there a trick or some technique that we can apply to achieve peace of mind in

daily life? Let's get into that today.

Peace of mind is something that we talk about a lot here at Live on Purpose

radio and today's guest Devan Bosch Live on Purpose certified coach, has some

ideas about that. Devan welcome. Thank you. It's great to be here.

Devan, you've got a lot of reasons for for knowing about peace and there's not

a lot of peace in the world. Would you agree? Absolutely. It's all around us.

Everywhere to go. On my way here this morning, I was struggling with it

just thoughts about things that have happened over the last couple of days.

People that have failed to show up in my life and different things like that. I'm

just dealing with that like what about that one guy that cut us off from the on

the road or that co-worker who that one family member. Or watching the news.

There's all kinds of negative news out there. It just feels like the world is in

turmoil. So we're addressing today this question

of how to achieve peace. How to find that or create it as you and I

talked about quite a bit in our daily lives? Absolutely. My experience is that

what will be, will be. We don't have control over what's beyond our sphere

right? I have control right here. This is what I have control over not what's

going on inside your spirit. What's inside my spirit and right here. I get to

control what's coming out, what's inside. So Devan we're not ignoring the fact

that there's difficult things going on out there in the world. In fact, it's an

acknowledgment. It's our acceptance that yes, things are happening. They're outside

of our control and that sometimes can rob or steal our peace. But you've got

some ideas or some techniques that you're here to share, yeah, about maybe

how to claim that or create it inside of our realm of influence or control.

Absolutely. None of this is saying that we get to bury our heads in the sand or

pretend that everything's pretty in pink. We are inviting you to create the peace.

Create it by identifying what it is that's causing the problems. If you're

watching the news every day and that's your feeling this stuff going on

inside, let that go. Don't watch the news anymore. Wait, hold on. So you can change

the channel? Right. Change the channel? That seems so obvious but we don't

always connect with the fact that it's hurting us or it's potentially hurting

us. So you're saying identify the triggers, get clear about whether you

want this in your life or not because you can actually change the

channel or just stop watching some of that stuff. Absolutely. So identify the

problem, then change it. Choose peace. You can choose it. Absolutely. Choose it. It's

up to you. There are so many awesome techniques that you can do to create

this peace in your life. Breathing technique. Oh yes, this is something that

I teach all the time related to anxiety or stress. Your breathing is actually

controlled by a part of your brain that is also in charge of your reactions to

different things that are happening. So taking a conscious level of control over

that and Devan you're talking about an intentional practice of breathing.

Hopefully your breathing on a regular basis, okay? In and out all day long. But

what we're talking about is is slowing it down, being very conscious and

intentional about it. Okay, so here's a quick tip on how to manage the

breathing. Just pause get yourself in a in a comfortable position. I recommend

that you don't cross your your legs or your arms or your eyes. Don't cross

anything, okay? And then just calmly take a nice deep breath in through the nose

and over inflate those lungs stretch it a little bit and feel the stretch and

just hold that for maybe 10 seconds or so and then nice and slow out through

the mouth and you restrict the flow here. Kind of like you're blown out birthday

candles? Push it out at the end of that exhale. You want to take about twice as

long to exhale as you did inhale. That's a pretty good rule of thumb. Push

it out and then enter the nose again. You do that three to five times nice and

slow and you're going to notice some things. What have you noticed as you've

done that? Oh my gosh. I have noticed when things come from right here in

the face, yeah. I just breathe and then all of a sudden, I'm calm.

I'm free of that feeling and then I'm able to just work on the situation

clearly. The anger is not there anymore, the frustrations not

there anymore and I've got some peace to deal with to help me with the thinking

it out and and dealing with it. It's a nice trigger. A physiological trigger to

get your mind into a different mode. So that you can do some of the other things

that are necessary to rethink what's going on for you and create that peace

intentionally, on purpose we might say. Absolutely. There are so many different

things that we can do. Do something cathartic. Do something that and Dr. Paul can

explain cathartic. What is cathartic? Well, when you say that, I think of any

activity that helps you to express emotion and sometimes we suppress it and

that can build up inside of us or cause additional stress or rob our peace. So

when you say do something cathartic, I'm thinking sometimes you get into a place

where you can just ah!!! You know. Let out a yell. I suppressed that a little bit. You know so

it wouldn't freak you guys out. But to yell or to express loudly what it is

that you're feeling. This is what I think of when you say cathartic. So go out

into nature, find a place where you can be by yourself, pick up some rocks, throw

them and maybe yell at the rock first and put all your frustration on the rock

and then throw it and get it away from you. So it's gone. It's forever gone.

There are so many fun things you can do. Go tell all your negative energy and

thoughts and frustrations to the toilet and then flush it.

Watch the water go down and swirl down. It's a way to symbolize letting it

go. Right. Which is the powerful part of this cathartic

experience because instead of holding it in here, I'm just going to - uh-oh! I'm just

going to put it out there. So you throw the rock or write it on a piece of paper and

burn it. Oh yeah. And please little disclaimer here from Live on Purpose TV.

Don't burn down the neighborhood. Let's use some wisdom and discretion. But having

some way to release that or symbolically say, "look, I'm not going to keep

this inside of me anymore. Absolutely. Helps to increase your peace.

I bet there are things that are coming to your mind that you can do as you're

thinking about these, work on them, do them. This is an exercise just like going

to the gym. This is something we get to work on every single day. It's not going

to get easier just because we started doing it. It's going to possibly get bit

more difficult as we focus on it. It was more difficult on my way here today to

knowing I was going to talk about peace. All of this stuff was attacking

means like, let it go and let it go. I don't even know how many of these things

that I went through on the way here. Well, you bring up an important point and

sometimes things get harder before they get easier. Right.

Don't be dissuaded by that because sometimes it's simply developing a new

skill set and that can cause some frustration when you're just starting

out. So if you're used to carrying a lot of tension and anger and distress taking

some intentional steps toward choosing peace isn't necessarily going to come

naturally at first. Now, I think you're going to feel a little relief too. Oh

absolutely and that'll help you to know that you're on the right track. But just

the fact that it's not easy, doesn't mean that you're on the right track. In fact,

often times that means you are on the right track. It's just going to take some

practice and commitment to build your skill level to the point where you can

do this more naturally. Just because you're choosing peace doesn't mean that

you're going to have peace completely. Things are still going to come up, the world

still going to go on, that one family member is still going to be in your family and

that one co-workers still looking to be there when you go to work the next day.

So it's something we get to choose every single day. That's what the whole purpose

of this is. Choose something that works for you and can

need to do it. Bring, call music into your life. Do that a whole bunch of other

things. Follow your intuition and do what comes to your mind

and you will be able to choose peace because you are a creator. Can I just

make a comment Devan about the music? What I have found in my experience is

that we often try to match our music to our mood and if you're feeling upset or

angry it's easy to kind of gravitate toward that upset, angry music. You know

what I'm talking about? And that's a very natural thing. What you're talking about

is intentionally choosing the kind of music for example, it could be other

media. The kind of music that is soothing or that invokes peace. This is

not easy because if you're feeling upset and angry, you're kind of resonating

it at this level, okay? This upset, angry level. If we go to a higher energy of

peace and love and joy, that's not the same frequency as what you've been on

and so there's some dissonance there. When you raise that level up and match

it to a higher level, you can actually bring your mood along to match the music.

And it won't feel natural at first. There's a concept in physics and

music called sympathetic resonance. If you start a tuning fork, singing and

you run it along the strings of a harp without touching them, when you get to

the one that's at the same frequency, it will start to sing right along with the

tuning fork. It's really cool phenomena and you can do it with a piano too. What

that means is that whatever is attuned to that frequency is going to resonate

with it. So we're talking in in very simplistic terms here but we're talking

about picking a frequency and so you're suggesting Devan and the

frequency of peace and joy and love and all that awesome stuff which is up here

at this level. Well, if you're down here at this level, it's not going to resonate

at first but what we're going to do is tune ourselves up to meet

higher frequency and so be cautious and intentional as you choose your music for

example or anything else in your life that has a particular energy to it.

Absolutely. absolutely. I see that in my own life. What I play in my car is

mostly calm, sweet, just peaceful music and I recognize that it helps as I'm

driving down the freeway and people cut me off and just like whatever. I'm just

going, resonate with that music. So it makes a difference, absolutely. I hope

you're finding some value from these videos. Thank you for being here. Would

you please share this with someone today?

How to use Find Full Text to download PDFs for references.

How to insert a reference in a Word document.

How to format a bibliography, using the APA style as an example.

How to add page numbers to a citation.

Enter the name of your group and press Enter.

Select the references to add to the new group and drag them into the group.

Another method of importing references is direct export.

I am going to import some references from PubMed as an example,

but this method can be used with many other online databases.

I am using Firefox for this example because it supports direct export

on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

Direct export will also work with Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome.

Click the OK button.

Click the OK button.

If the database is set up for direct export, the references will import right into EndNote.

The new references are shown in the Imported References temporary group.

Drag the new references to the permanent group they should belong to.

To have EndNote try to find the PDFs for references, select the references,

then click the Find Full Text button.

If EndNote is able to find the PDFs, you will see paperclip icons appear by the references.

To change the style, click the tiny arrow in the bottom right corner of the Bibliography Group.
