How To Edit Images and Create & Share an Infrared Camera Report from the Fluke Connect™ App - Duration: 2:07.

If we turn on our infrared camera and launch the Fluke Connect app,

you can see the same image on both devices.

Take the image on your camera. Hit save.

That image automatically saves to Fluke Connect.

Changing the color palette

or adding markers for hot or cold spots.

Once you're done editing,

you can also add notes to the image if you'd like.

Hit done when you've completed.

Now that your image is saved and edited,

you may want to share it out to a colleague, client, or manager.

To do this requires an internet connection outside of the infrared camera.

Disconnect from the FLUKE-Camera network and reconnect to another

Internet network or work off your data network.

Get back into the Fluke Connect app Main Menu

and select measurements. Select the image you were working on and

click on the share icon.

You'll see a couple of options for sharing your image out.

You can also share out multiple images as a formal report through the

reports option in the Main Menu.

Select create a report. Then, thermal image report.

Select the images you'd like to include in the report. You can also edit

the cover page, choose if you'd like to include the visible image or not, or

select which markers you'd like to include, and even add in a report summary.

When you save the report, it'll be available immediately in the app.

You can then share out the report as a PDF or just the thermal image file or you can

continue editing if needed.

Both individual images and reports can be shared to any email address.

Instructional video: How to not get water on the floor outside the shower cabin - Duration: 2:50.

Hi

Today, I thought I'd teach you a

trick that makes life easier

or, a "life hack"

as some people say

it has to do with when one takes a shower

let's have a look, here we have

a shower cabin

as we can see, i have just

been in here

my hair is wet

I have taken a shower

and

as it is

it's pretty common with

shower mats that one puts on the floor

outside of the shower cabin, there

so that it doesn't get wet when one exits

the shower cabin

some people use

a towel, like one of these

and folds it

and put that on the floor to capture

the wetness that can fall

from the body

when one is done showering and is about to exit

but I would like to show

what I usually do

and it's like this

look, I'm now standing inside the shower cabin

and I have finished showering

I turn the shower off

And look, I keep my towels over there

What I do is

I just take a small step

like this

and then I am able to reach a towel

which allows me to dry my body

while I'm standing inside

the shower cabin

and then, I will be dry

as I exit

the shower cabin

to the space outside the shower cabin

let me show you

let's see

I am drying my foot

using the towel, and take a step out

like so

then, I'm standing on one foot while

I'm drying the other foot

like so

and

as you can see it is a

very small amount of water

outside the shower cabin

and a huge amount of water inside the shower cabin

well, yes

and on the towel

alright, bye

RENTAL ARBITRAGE: How He Turned a Run Down Office into a Successful Airbnb with $1,800 (legally) - Duration: 13:17.

Hey everyone this is Richard founder of short-term rental university and Airbnb

super host and right here I'm with my man the guy who taught me how to kite

board I still have a long way to go but if you ever want to learn this guy Eric

and howdy pronounce your last name Barajas Barajas is the man in the

meantime we also found out that he's an Airbnb host he just got started we're

gonna walk through his Airbnb we're gonna talk about the deal that he swung

with his landlady and how you know he's doing rental arbitrage and she's aware

of it we're gonna take a look at his place we're gonna talk about some of his

early stage findings this is his first year doing your B&B and we're gonna talk

about how we renovated the place relatively inexpensively and is having a

lot of success attracting kite boarders and like the right people for him and

it's just like working and he's trying to grow his real estate business and

Empire and we Mako invest on something we're talking about so it's super

exciting but in the meantime Eric you have anything you want to say as an

introduction or should we just go on in oh yeah just we're here in the Outer

Banks I'm gonna take you guys inside kind of give you some tips of stuff that

I did to quickly turn a unused space into a very useful space for a

reasonable price so a lot of people have been enjoying that for those of you that

don't know what rental arbitrage is it's a really popular way for people to get

started on Airbnb they can't afford purchasing a home what they want to do

is rent a home and then either sublease it or sublease portions of it and that's

really cool if you do it the right way okay so Eric so you rented this whole

house in this space here that we're entering was what oh so this space

before I got here was just completely in ruins this is actually the original kind

of what the whole place look like as you can see there's like plenty of holes in

the walls it's just that old kind of house where they really weren't even

using drywall or anything like that so originally this front part was a big

mess that we decided not to do anything with it we kind of turned it into a gear

storage just kind of appealing the kite boarders and wind surfers that's why we

have the rack right here decided to put this shelf and just to kind of make it

look nicer this part needed a lot more work than the part we're going into it

was like broken windows rain damage water damage the floors were terrible

everything about it was Terrell it was like an ice storm but he saw opportunity

and kudos to him for being entrepreneurial

and innovative and creative and seeing an opportunity and so he approached his

landlord in full disclosure and said hey if I fix this place up if I put my time

and energy and money into fixing this place up will you allow me to rent it

out and keep the income and his landlady kind of said jokingly hahaha yeah no one

will ever want to do that because it was too much work she didn't have that

creativity she didn't have the energy level and she didn't have the vision so

she just gave it to him and so he went and he did the work and he put in his

time and labor and fixed it up and one thing I definitely want to showcase is

the the bathroom in the wall that you used pallets for which is super cool so

we'll let a little bit of light in here and you can see it's just a you

efficient mini kitchen right you've got a little refrigerator a little microwave

toaster oven I'm going to tell you a story about these shelves and about this

countertop and the shelf as well so this was a door a like thick wood door that I

actually found when I was throwing garbage away it was just sitting on the

side of the dumpster this huge heavy thick door and I was like wow this is

really nice wood how can I use it and at that time we were looking at buying

shelves we're looking at how to fix this countertop so actually I came home and I

used the front of it which is the nice part and I made the shelves using the

the right corners super-creative though I made the show it looks great

and I made this countertop I mean it's beautiful

so it all works out that way and tell me a little bit about because a lot of the

viewers here are really interested in what we call rental arbitrage so renting

a place and then subletting it out or renting a portion of it like how did you

come up with the idea of how did you pitch your landlady and I you know I

think here is a unique situation I pitched it because this space was really

unusable at the moment all the windows were blown out I had to replace the

windows I mean it was pretty much deteriorating the value of her house I

live in the other part of the house which is separate so she just saw it as

waste and she didn't want to spend money so the way I pitched it was I would put

in all the initial money and with the deal that she would allow me to rent it

out he was very intelligent about it he wrote it into his contract into his

lease term that he's allowed to do that and that it won't terminate his lease

and that he can renew his lease and so on and so he's protected his viable

sustainable business in perpetuity for as long as he has the lease

he owns the right to like sublease that space out and that's really cool because

therefore he won't get kicked out and what he feared was that she would see

how successful he was kick him out and do it for herself but you also told me

when you first approached her she was like Yeah right good luck like no no

chance no one's gonna rent it it was horrible the carpet in here was

molded the subflooring was bad so we had to buy new carpet we had to take out the

old subflooring I mean it was all really bad so actually this is another thing

that I did too that nobody notices unless I tell you check out the ceiling

right here so because this window was blown out from all the rain coming in

these were like falling off only in this section of the ceiling so what I did was

I took him off I put this one and I put this nice trim around it just to make it

look like it was done on purpose great we had an idea of like hanging plants

maybe in the corner same thing for this wall as you can see it's different so

like this whole section of the house was really bad because of all the water that

was come then due to the windows the window was broken yes well how much do

you think you put into this hole oh it came out we ended up spending

about it was about 1,800 around there that was the whole rate with everything

I mean it with appliances the chairs you know the bed the bed yeah you have to AC

unit you know that was in the end and will you make that back this year oh

yeah I'm definitely from what Airbnb is showing I'm

be able to make that back this year and then some right oh yeah a little bit

it's gonna help offset a little bit of my rental costs so who I live in a

unique place where we pay rent all year long even though I leave here

four months out of the year so I think my landlady also was really

understanding about that this being a seasonal place regardless what I'm doing

with this front room she's happy that she's getting her rent yeah you're a

great tenant right so show us what you did which i think is really cool here in

the bathroom what did it look like before so the bathroom was in horrible

shape before this whole wall was just like completely like it looked like

somebody a punched wall like just punched into the wall and I had this

idea I'd seen online before I've always had like like use for pallets so these

are all pallets from where I work that I was able to pick up outside and

I'm some being Muir's some being older and what I did was I cut them one by one

just kind of a free-for-all people ask but there was no like measurements I

just this one looked good and then I had to cook the other ones so they all fit

and I sanded each one of them just so that you know when you touch it it's

nice and I varnished it well it looks great really knows a varnish and for

anybody who's been watching my channel you've seen I did a very similar sort of

application on a wall in Jackson Hole and I'm sure if it looks that much

better you were also recycling and saving my

place I clean I take it well mine was upcycle too because it came from like

the highway partitions or whatever in Wyoming but here's a little tip to you I

just want to tell people so these were rusted really bad and if you don't want

to replace them what you do is you sand them with about a like a high volume

sand like a really really coarse one so that you can get in there nicely and

then you just you know make sure not to spray-paint the tub itself and then you

spray paint them and they come out really nice you can wash them and the

pillars that you clean yeah a black glossy or rather no it was a sign

cool well it looks great yeah it looks like brand-new so if it was rusty and

deteriorating now it looks perfect and so this place is just super comfortable

serves its purpose and Eric in your own words how would you describe like the

feedback that you get from guests and what type of guests are they so we've

been getting really positive feedback especially just the price point so this

area it's really hard for people unless you're renting a big house Airbnb has

not really made it here fully and small units so we're getting a lot of feedback

because there's a lot of people that just want to come down for three days

and they're gonna spend most of the time at the beach anyway so they're really

happy just with a nice comfy bed that was really important when my wife and I

thought of this we've got a really comfortable bed just you know really

nice coffee machine you know just the basic things that when you wake up in

the morning you want to brew some coffee before going to the beach and then

actually that front room that I kind of covered up as a gear room people love it

because they're like hey I don't have to leave the bikes outside I don't have to

leave the kites in the car kiteboarding equipment surfboards all that are really

expensive so people feel really comfortable being able to unload their

vehicle and have a storage spot and I feel comfortable because they're not

bringing in sandy dirty items into the house sort of kind of works well

together so overall what would you say your experience has been as an Airbnb

host and what sort of you know occupancy rate are you experiencing I mean since

I've been here I've seen same-day turnover almost every single time but

what have you experienced what are your thoughts how do you like Airbnb I love

Airbnb I think it's a really great thing I used it for a long time and being able

to become a host myself has been a really great experience really positive

you get to meet a lot of people along the way some people you don't meet at

all but not so much on the people side I think it's great being able to give a

space for someone to share you know so when you're kind of designing your

Airbnb you kind of set it to the tone of the

people you're expecting to have now that doesn't always work you know so I've had

I'd say maybe out of 15 you'll get two people that you know this maybe wasn't

the space that we're looking for you know so I'm trying more and more based

on what Airbnb gives me as a platform to make sure in my description and in and

what I'm offering the people that I'm getting the right kind of people perfect

that's a big tip really exactly and what sort of occupants Steve you think you've

had in the prime months here um so I've been fully occupied I mean our prime

months here are June July August and I'm turning over every day June July August

so so pretty happy my tip to you that I've shared with you and other viewers

is your price too low right you should have some occupancy and definitely and

are you charging a cleaning fee no I I was not not until I just like I taught

Richard had a kite board recently and we met and it's been a really great thing

because the cleaning fee was something that I was kind of unsure about and I'm

happy I watched this video and kind of read other feedback and I've just

changed it recently and we'll see how that goes it's gonna go well because

you're gonna get paid for your labor right yeah so Richard knows I just

finished I was on the water for three hours this morning and I literally have

ran over here you know make the bad vacuum you know make sure everything's

looking nice fresh towels and he's right that time is worth money you know so I

do recommend to anybody if you're not doing it do it and so the point of this

video is if you want to do rental arbitrage because you can't go out and

buy your place and you want to do that and either offset your your cost of

living or save which is what I would encourage you to do for an equity down

payment for your like actual business then do it the right way don't try and

get creative don't try and skirt the issues

don't tell little white lies don't post on Facebook like what about this idea

and what about that idea like if you have to ask about these ideas it's not

good like is there anything that I said to you about Eric's story that doesn't

resonate do you feel like he cut any corners do you think he was dishonest do

you think I mean she could have said no but then he wouldn't have done it

but to his delight she said yes and now he's doing it and he probably will keep

that lease forever because it's such a good deal and he's got a homerun on his

hands so if you want to do rental arbitrage be forthright find the right

partner ie landlord tell them what you're gonna do write it into the

contract protect yourself and then do it forever and I would encourage you

instead of having a better lifestyle save that money put it away

that's your nest egg for your down payment on your own equity get rid of

the landlord start buying real estate liked the video and please subscribe

How to grow your Etsy Email List (more sales on etsy) - Duration: 10:45.

how do you build an etsy email list full of passionate and interested customers

ready to buy in this video I'm going to show you exactly how to do that welcome

back to my channel you guys my name is Dave if you're new to this channel

please consider subscribing I do new videos all the time Etsy success with

that being said shout out to everybody that's been commenting liking and

subscribing as well as been grabbing the e-books in the description below

everybody's been commenting and telling me how they've been really helpful to

them and helping them make more sales so thank you guys for getting those ebooks

and thank you for growing with me anyway let's jump right into it how to build

your email list to a large audience of people that are actually interested in

your products that want to buy it so all you have to do is send out an email to

make a few sales or a lot of sales depending on how large your email list

is so first let me answer some questions about why you should create an email

list and build it actively right so when you're marketing on social media you

make a post and it goes into everyone's newsfeed whoever is following you and it

can disappear with a matter of within a matter of hours you can disappear and be

gone forever on Facebook if you make a post it's gone

barely anybody seen it if you make an Instagram post you know people will see

it but it's eventually going to be gone whether you have an email list however

it goes directly to their inbox and it is straight to them they have opted in

and they are interested it goes straight to their email inbox and it doesn't

disappear it has much more power that way it doesn't disappear that's the

strongest point to keep in mind you you have a direct in to market to that

person and since they joined your email list they're much more interested than

first for example a follow on Instagram a lot of the time people follow you on

Instagram because they just like the way your stuff looks if somebody joins and

emailed us however they are saying yes to receiving marketing

material nowadays if somebody joins an email list there they pretty much know

that they are going to be marketed to and a lot of people join email lists

specifically for that reason in hopes of receiving a coupon for that product that

they like so that's why you should build it it's very powerful to build an email

list to jump over the clutter of social media that's not taking any power away

from social media however it's just it's just a comparison to those two tools

that you need to be utilizing and another reason why you should be

building your email list is you know the exclusivity like I said about the

coupons you want to make your email list people feel special about being a part

of it you know you can call it a name link I caught my email list for woodland

sent the VIP tribe you know when people know that they're going to be receiving

special coupons that no one else receives so that adds another level of

urgency or scarcity it is let's add another level of scarcity to that email

or that offer that you email them not anybody else gets this only you get it

oh wow that's great I'm definitely gonna buy it now you know

anyway so the next thing I want to jump into is how to build your email list

when you have an Etsy shop there's not a lot of like straightforward easy ways

that Etsy provides you I mean and it is definitely against any policy to just

take your customers email email straight off of the order form and put it in your

list that's against GDP our policies as well

they have to for sure opt in and say yes I want to receive marketing content from

you right so I wish it was that easy to just take emails from your orders and

put it on there but it's not and it's not against it's a guest that's these

policy and it's illegal so don't do that so I'm gonna lay out a bunch of places

that you can do in and put your email list for people to join so number one is

the shop announcement you can put the URL right

your Etsy shop announcement you can what I do on my Etsy site is the first line I

have an OG that says please read and in capital letters and you put another

emoji in the other side if you want that catches people's attention and that

causes them to click read more because they don't see the entire shop

announcement right off the bat so put please read people are going to be

interested in curious of what it says right and also if you've watched the

previous few videos back where I talked about putting your sale details in there

the shop announcement is another great spot and that's why it's powerful

because they click when they see please read and then oh they're just a little

cool right so you put the URL right in your shop announcement that's one spot

then another spot is in the thank you message of your of when somebody checks

out there's a spot to do it in your in your shop settings

what message people receive and it shows up in the official se email League on

the receipt not everybody is going to see it not everybody looks at that email

but the people who do see it you want them to join your email list so put a

nice message there that says hey please join our email list we send out

exclusive offers and if you even if you can also if you have a blog in your

writing stuff about your products you can say you know we'll send you cool

articles about this or that right so so put it in the thank you message that's

one spot that says that's the second spot and then another spot not many

people consider is the notes when you're shipping your items through NZ shipping

brand in the left side there it says add no that's another spot you can do it

just type it out once for the day if you have multiple orders and then copy paste

it into every single one hey thank you so much for your order please consider

joining our email list we send out coupons and cool articles about follow

along right so you can put it there every single day

as well and that's another way to do it and another place is the thank-you card

that I mentioned in my other video about getting more reviews

sending out that thank-you card that says please leave us a positive review

you can also put the URL to your sign up your sign up sheet or wherever it is

whether it be like a like a landing page or a website that you have that has the

pop-up or maybe just a spot on your website whatever it is you can put the

URL for the sign up there on the thank-you card as well and once again

you tell them why they want to join exclusive offers and cool information so

you can put it on the thank-you card as well

the next spot is in an infographic in your shop in your listings photos right

so you make a cool infographic that if you know not many people will have all

10 photos of their products so this is an easy way to fill up those 10 photos

if you so choose to do that so you make an infographic that says that has the

URL of the email signup and you once again say hey sign sign up here you get

cool stuff a lot can put a photo of your face you can put a photo of your

products you can do whatever you want with it but a lot of people will see

that and a lot of people will join that's another spot and then the last

spot is obviously when you're marketing on Facebook and and stuff like anywhere

where you can post a link Instagram you can't do it Instagram you can what you

can do for Instagram is your link could be going your link on Instagram to go

straight to a landing page for your email list and then make sure to have a

link below it to your shot that way you know they don't feel obligated to sign

up for your email list that's the thing that you can try it I did that for like

a month straight and I got a ton of email signups through that so that's in

one way and then anywhere where you can put a link so your facebook posts

Twitter posts exceda them that's an obvious one but you know if you combine

all of these methods then then you will gain a huge email list and you will be

able to market to a larger audience and this isn't going to happen overnight

but if you continue with it and and stay consistent you'll get a large email list

and you'll be able to sell more products and not have to rely on the Etsy

algorithm I have to rely on SEO Yool you will have to rely on your own marketing

skills and your email emailing marketing abilities but that will grow over time

as well you'll get better than it so those are all of my methods that you can

use to grow a huge email list and when you have a huge email like email list

like this if you ever choose to do a standalone website in the future then

you can send those people over to them if you choose to do with Shopify

you can send those people to your Shopify and grow your audience there so

you don't have to rely completely on your Etsy customers well you want to

turn your SME Etsy customers into email list people so there it is you guys

those are all of my methods that I have for growing your email list I hope you

enjoyed it please subscribe if you like my content I do new videos all the time

on it to success and don't forget to comment below because every single week

I'm giving away the Etsy shop reboot checklist ebook for free to one random

commenter so be sure to comment below if you use

any of these methods or if you found some of these methods interesting and

that's it for today you guys have a nice day peace

you

How To Get Kids To Listen Without Yelling - Duration: 9:48.

It's a popular topic. How to get kids to listen without yelling? Like more

aggressive I guess. Like I know mom's not messing around. And we started out with

this great question about how many times does it take to get kids to listen

because we want them to listen the first time, right? So listen in. Did you have to

ask them a lot of times to get them to listen to you? Yes. But how many times on

average would you say? It was maybe 3 or 4 times .We would hit the button if

if you don't listen. You're going to regret it

basically. Oh, at least 3. 3 to 5. And then what's different

about the third or fifth time versus the first? I get like more aggressive I guess.

Like they know mom's not messing around. Obviously, we want them to listen the

first time. But that's not the common experience as you heard from some of our

viewers. What is it that makes the difference? As you were listening in to

some of these interviews, did you notice that when kids respond, it's because

parents are serious. They're at a point where they know, the kids know, that

something's going to happen now if I don't act. So the key here is not to get

angry, not to yell, not to be mad but simply to move the consequence up and

tie it directly to the communication that you just gave. So you're speaking

calmly in a loving voice right? Raise your eyebrows a little bit. Keep a smile

on your face as you say something that's going to happen and your prediction is

something that your kids can count on. What if you want your kids to clean up

the room the first time you ask? What if you want them to put their toys away and

come to the dinner table the first time you asked? What if you want them to get

out of bed and get ready for school the first time you ask? Well, you ask nicely

the first time and then the consequence happens

immediately. See our kids train us sometimes. In fact, that's another

interesting topic that we ought to take to our listeners. Let's listen in on this

one. Now, do you think that parents train their kids or do kids train their

parents? We trained our kids because the things that we did with them, they're what they're

doing with their children. We had a daughter that would say, "I don't care".

I'll say, "The next time you say that is another 10 minutes I did on." And she'd

look at me and say, "Is he kidding?" I don't think that's kidding. It's so

both. I mean kids are kind of in charge to certain extent I think but I mean

it's our job to guide them. So I think it's a give-and-take honestly. You learn

from each other. Remember, how many times do you want to ask your kids before they

respond? How about we get them to respond the first time? Yelling doesn't seem to

help, does it? We asked some of our listeners about

this too. Listen in. Do you ever think that yelling is a punishment or a

reinforcement? Yelling is a waste of time. We just spoke to them like human beings

and they responded. Yeah it was... shouting is no good. I tried not to yell but I feel

like sometimes you have to like be forceful to get them to know you're

serious so it happens. I try not to. No, doesn't get you anywhere. Did your

parents ever have to yell to get you to listen?

No. That's awesome. Yeah. So what was their secret because a lot of parents

have to yell? I think yelling like made us emotional. So

it like didn't work and so I think when they were more direct and more patient

with us, we were willing to do things more because we did out of like a better

spirit than if we were yelled at. It's pretty much unanimous folks. Yelling

doesn't seem to work and it's not something that we enjoy doing as a

parent. So as we replace that with a calm communication, that might lead us into

this next part though we got a particularly good response on, how to

communicate to your kids so that they clearly understand what it is that you

want. Listen to this one. How do your kids know what you're saying is important? I

make them look at me. That's like the main thing. Eye contact and what they want

to wonder like, "No, mom's talking to you. Look at me." And that's the main thing

or I get like down on their level but eye contact for sure. Well, when I would

ask them to clean their room or my son because he's just one, I would say, "Because

if you don't, I will. I'll go through everything. I like that. So yes,

it got cleaned. Don't you love her approach to this? It was very clear. It's

basically a choice. Do you want to clean the room yourself or would you rather

that I clean it for you? This particular mom had done this enough with her son

that he understood. As soon as she said the communication about cleaning the

room, he knew what was going to happen next because she probably had followed

through before. I'm guessing. And that sends a clear

message to kids about what to expect. So let me just add a few observations about

communicating so that kids know what to expect. First of all, what they expect is

what they have experienced. So what you say doesn't matter as much as what

you've done in the past and they probably won't believe you right up

front. If you say, "You know what? You can clean your room yourself or I'll come in

and clean it for you. Now, if they're used to having you just yell at them until

they clean their room, that's what they're going to expect to happen. But

we've just changed the rules on them. So instead of yelling, we're not going to do

that remember nobody likes that doesn't work anyway. Instead of the yelling, we're

going to follow through on what we said. This is a concept that I refer to as

turning your words from garbage into gold. So that you've just increased the

value of your communication. They know exactly what's going to happen because

you've just said what's going to happen and they trust your words. So you say it

calmly, "Son, you can clean your own room or I'll go clean it for you. Either way

is okay with me. And I like to have that last little part.

Remember, raise your eyebrows just a little bit. Kind of a lit to your

voice. No problem, right? Meaning, no problem for me, possible problem coming

up for you. But I trust you to do your thinking about that and you only say it

once because how many times do you want to say it before your kids respond? Once.

So you say it once and then you follow through with the consequence. When you've

done that, once, you've got a precedent now and the next time this comes up

because it will, won't it? Your kids are going to give you another chance to

practice this. The next time it comes up, as those words fall from your lips, your

children will see those as gold instead of garbage. Why? Because of their

experience. They've been there before and they will remember that. That's where the

learning will kick in for future experiences. We train our kids. Well, do we?

Who trains who? Our kids train us and we train our kids. We want to think that

we're the ones doing the training, right? Because I don't know, we've got some kind

of ego tied up in this as parents. Just be humble enough to realize and

recognize. Our kids are training us too and the way you handle your kids is

probably a reflection of what they've trained you to do. How they've trained

you to treat them. So if they don't listen to you until the twelfth time

they've basically trained you to say it 11 times before you get serious. Wow!

Knowing that might sting just a little bit but let that sting open up your mind

to the possibility that you are trainable as well.

Don't be so prideful to think that you're the only one who's training your

kids, your kids are training you too. Being aware of that puts us in a position of

choice and now we can respond differently to the training that's

already going on and probably create some different outcomes too. I'm so

honored to be on your parenting team. My wife and I have collaborated to put

together a positive parenting course where you get to learn more about how to

get your kids to listen without yelling and other important skills that we all

need as parents. Check it out in the description below.

How to Tie a Uni to Uni Knot - Duration: 2:32.

So a lot of people ask me what knot I use to connect my braid to my fluoro, or mono.

There's two ways to go -- one you can tie a direct connection or two you can tie the

braid to a little ball bearing swivel and then the fluoro leader to the ball bearing

swivel, which is the easiest way to go.

You mitigate some line twists, but I prefer to tie direct.

It's a much more seamless presentation, it's better if it gets pulled into the guides,

there's less hardware in the water to spook the fish.

So the knot that I like to tie is what's called the uni to uni.

So I have 40-pound test braid and 40-pound test fluoro.

The fluoro I've been using this season is the Maxima, this is 40-pound test Maxima.

What I like about the Maxima is it ties very nice, very clean knots.

So what I'm going to do is overlay the braid to the fluoro.

I'm just going to come around over itself and just do 4 or 5 rotations over itself.

I go more with the braid than I do with the fluoro.

I'm just going to pull it lightly so its forming a nice even knot.

Now I'm going to do the same thing with the fluoro.

I'm going to go 4 times.

1, 2, 3, 4.

Now I'm going to pinch, I'm going to grab the fluoro on both ends and form the knot.

I recommend this step, just to wet the knot so it jams nicely.

So you have the two knots there.

They're going to go into the butt end of that fluoro.

Just going to tighten up just a little bit.

The butt end of that fluoro will meet the butt end of that braid.

The two will form a nice knot together.

So we just need to clip those tag ends and that's how you tie a uni to uni knot, fluoro

leader to braid.

How To Play Zone Defense (Cup) - Ultimate Frisbee Tutorial - Duration: 5:42.

Alright guys so today I'm going to teach the foundation of zone.

This video is definitely on the advanced side so by now you should know force if not you

can watch this video right here first.

Zone is definitely not the easiest defense out there.

It can be intimidating for a lot of people in the beginning.

There are a lot of different positions, a lot of things going on, and especially if

you haven't played sports that use similar concepts to this it can be a bit of a learning

curve.

But that's ok I am here to hopefully make this simple and easy to understand, so yeah

let's begin.

Alright so there are a lot of different types of defenses and they all have pros and cons.

Most people start off playing in a man-to-man defense, which looks like this.

Everyone is guarding a specific person and stays on that person for the entire point.

So if your person cuts out you cover them out.

If they come back in you follow them in.

It's very simple.

Man-to-man is very popular because it's very easy to implement.

There are no complex formations, no special positions, you can just start using it pretty

much immediately.

It's great for all levels.

However man-to-man has some major weaknesses.

If there is someone on the other team that is really good they can burn right past your

defender and score who knows how many times.

With this defense everyone is on their own no one else is really in a position to help

with breakdowns very much.

So a better solution to this would be to play a zone where players are guarding space instead

of one specific person.

This eliminates specific matchup problems and makes the defense work as a whole.

So now if this person tries to get the disc you now have a person back to help contain

them.

With this defense it makes it significantly harder for one player to do all the scoring.

It forces other players to have to make plays.

This formation is what I consider the base form of zone it doesn't really have a name

you could call it a 3-3-1 or a pure zone, but it's where everyone is just guarding

space and there's not a whole lot of other strategy going on.

In ultimate we don't really use this formation very much because it has a lot of weaknesses.

The most popular form of zone in ultimate is called a cup and uses a press technique

on the thrower.

A standard cup is made up of 3 people guarding the thrower, but they have to make sure they

do not violate double team regulations.

It is a double team if a defensive player other than the mark is within 10 feet of the

thrower.

If you don't know what that means I have video that goes over the rules and this in

a lot more detail that you can check out.

The cup's job is to apply pressure on the thrower and to force the disc in a specific

direction.

The first thing you need to do if you are playing in the cup is to figure out what force

your team is playing.

You can force to the right, the middle, or the left.

The force will change depending on team preferences and strategy.

The cup is responsible for marking for the entire point.

So if the disc gets throw here the cup comes over and marks here, if it gets thrown here

they come over and mark here, and if it gets thrown here they come over and mark here.

Hopefully you don't get broken as badly as that last throw, but that is the foundation

of how the cup moves.

Alright so let's learn what the rest of the positions do.

So a standard cup defense will have the cup, 3 mids, and a deep.

This is where the zone concept comes in.

The mids and deep are responsible for defending throws that enter their space and adjusting

forward and back depending on where the throw goes.

Here's what it looks like all together.

Cup moves to thrower.

Mids and deep hold their space.

Throw comes up.

Cup moves to thrower.

Mids and deep adjust back to keep spacing.

Throw comes up.

Cup moves to thrower.

Mids and deep adjust back to keep spacing.

Throw goes back.

Cup moves to thrower.

Mids and deep adjust forward to keep spacing.

One of the most common mistakes with cup is not keeping shape.

One person will come over, but the other 2 don't get there for some reason and then

the thrower is able to break.

The cup is only effective if you can consistently keep shape and pressure on.

As a mid you really don't want to come down and take this person unless you have a good

reason to.

By doing this you will end up leaving people open in the space that you were suppose to

be covering, which most of the time doesn't end well.

You just end up giving up bigger plays than if you just had stayed in your position.

It's not that you can't move from your position it's more that the more you do

the riskier it gets.

You can also play a 4-man cup or even a 5-man cup if it's really windy and you want to

put a lot of pressure on the thrower.

Or only 2 on the thrower with more help deep.

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish different variations of this can be more or

less effective.
