Good morning, good afternoon or good evening! This is The Sorcerer and this
is my pipebomb the only podcast for HardwareBBQ com- your source for PC
hardware news, reviews, guides and recommendations! And remember, whatever we
talk about, all the links are in the description. Enjoy the awesomesauce! So
what shall we talk about let's start with Nvidia because hey! WHY NOT!!?!
The RTX 2070 launch date is set for October 17th and the retail price for the
base model is $499 which is a $120 premium over the gtx 1070 but the
Founders Edition will cost you $599 . Naturally,
the AIB units will cost more. October is when Microsoft will release the Windows
10 update which will include ray-tracing support. The RTX 2070 is based on
the TU106 silicon. Nvidia call this as 'The cheapest
Turing card with ray tracing support'. Of course there will be a debate about the
RTX 2070 and its performance not to mention the lack of NV link. But as usual
we don't have any graphic cards coming from Nvidia because hey! They like to
give it to people who do stuff with men's lifestyle cuz WHY NOT??!? *Sarcasm Implied*
Now, now! Just hold on!! I don't have any problems with men's lifestyle reviewing graphic cards
but there is a way to do it and that was terrible... TERRIBLE!! well, I hope they do
not use an allen wrench to open a graphic card. but hey, you never know! You
will never know!! n\Not at all!! Well, Nvidia does create trust issues with its
customers but this is like any other company from time to time! Some issues
are understandable once it's explained properly with no marketing lingo which
rarely happens and reviewers decrypt and scrutinize details or the lack of it!
Speaking of which this is related to those who have pre-ordered RTX 2080TI
Founders Edition, the graphics card was supposed to be shipped on the launch day.
But the delivery was delayed to September 27th and guess what? Now it's
delayed to be shipped between October 5th and 9th! Understandably people who
took Nvidia for their word without knowing its performance capability until
the embargo was lifted people are pissed off! People who pre-ordered the Founders
Edition of the RTX 2080Ti are pissed off! There's no word why this is happening
nor there's any word about the availability of RTX 2080TI from its
respective AIB partners. codemasters announced the new dirt rally title which
will be available on February 26th 2009. There's a trailer for it. It will
have off-road environments in New Zealand, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Australia
and the USA. There will also be 8 official circuits from the FIA world
rallycross championships. Obviously, this will have a single-player campaign and
online modes typical for racing games. The response is *WOW* but people are
really wishing they do not mess it up or dumb it down. Based on Dirt's track record
I believe it should all be good. now there is a company called Zadak or is
it so ZaDAK... well I'm pretty sure it's called Zadak
so we'll just go with 'Zadak'. Zadak reveals double capacity ddr4 RAMs which
contains 32 GB per memory module. Yeah! Wow!! 32 GB per memory module ddr4 stick!
As per the report from PC watch, this is the world's first double capacity 32
GB ddr4 memory module. Earlier the highest capacity was up to 16 GB per stick. So
they are calling this the Shield aura -2. It has been said that this should be
3200MHz per stick. Now how they were able to achieve
this is by having two layers of memory chips on each side of the PCB and also
the height of the ram is increased so on each side there are up to 16 chips so
there are 32 chips per stick. But the main issue here is the size of those
RAMs and boy!! Those are huge! Because it comes with all the works-
plating with RGB lights and you know since the memory is double stack these
memory sticks are *THICC* so depending on the system which you have the cooler or
the layout, there might be some physical compatibility issues. As of now there is
no news about any platform compatibility limitation or if any of them will
require a UEFI update. These are very tall RAMs. Remember the tall RAMs that
look like Combs- or used as a comb in Kingston ads. Wel,l it looks taller than
that it is easily taller than that! *WOWSA*
In the non-relevant but still relevant tech
news, a company that had an IndieGoGo campaign for self filling water bottle
goes bankrupt! Yeah! it is a typical crowdfunding story! There's a very
detailed video about how the so-called technology works... or the lack of
innovation and about two people who had similar snake-oil idea, gullible media
who ate it up because "free water"!!
The funny part involves this engineer teaching at MIT, she talks and
demonstrates this experiment involving a new tech by converting air into water
and guess what? She uses a Noctua CPU cooler! Yep! That's right, folks!! It
features a Noctua CPU cooler! It's hilarious because the video is very
interesting, it teaches everybody who is anybody trying to sell you snake oil, you
should be very careful! Crypto news! now , I don't think this is something a lot of
people do cover but electroneum, the mobile mining based alt-coin had a 230
percent increase in value during these seven days and it's still growing!
it's a slope but steady climb. Now, I'm not going to say anything about crypto because
HEY, I am NOT an expert at all by any means. But there are a lot of people on
the internet think that he or she is an expert! All I have to say is
'Heeey.. electroneum! Stop teasing us with miniscule increase in value! Put
a rocket in your pocket and reach the moon!'. But 230 percent increase in seven
days is something that deserves an applause! Never gonna give you up never
gonna let you down... well I hope not... GALAX is selling OC lab edition Ln2
pots for graphic cards. It's made with 99.9% pure copper and it
will withstand up to -196 degrees Celsius but the GPU pot will cost $229
.99 cents! Wow! but hey listen there's offer of sorts if you buy three of Galax
HOF OC lab Edition graphic cards and three of these pots, they will give you
a discount of $600. I don't know what to say there's not much to say except
LN2 overclocking is a very small niche 'market' and most extreme overclockers
have an association with a motherboard or graphic card brands or two. So yeah
whoever buys it, cheers to you! Oh yeah, remember when I talked about game
controllers? Here are some interesting numbers from Steam. Valve just published a
blog where it talks about the number of users who use game controllers and how
the timing couldn't be any better I just spoke about this a couple of days ago.
Gaming peripheral guys, please to listen to this! The Xbox 360 controllers
dominate steam with 27 million users eating 45% of the pie! Yeah and Xbox one
taking a 19% share, ps4 controllers have by 20%. That 1% is representing
about 1 million to 1.5 million yeah that 1 percent is huge!
PS3 is having 7 percent and other game controllers are 8 percent which
represents 4.9 million users. But if you break down the the 'others' category, you
will see steam controllers, Playstation 2 switch pro, fire sticks and even SNES and
gamecube controllers. S how about that, folks! It's a big
market. Gamepads for pc! Overcrowded by game controllers made originally for consoles....
Well, originally made for consoles but they are made to give support for PC.
Nevertheless, this is a good read. You guys should check it out
Speaking of game controllers, there's this video from Evann Kale where he
reinvents a PlayStation 2 controller with fidget spinners replacing analog
sticks. Since there are no PS2 controllers with native USB support, he
had to use an Adruino Pro micro with other things. He calls it The fidget USB
controller of Kickassery!'. And guess what? it works! So thanks for listening to this
pipebomb. I really really appreciate it. This is my first week- Mondays, Wednesdays,
and Fridays! I'll try to get used to this grind first before I make any more
commitments. If there's anything you guys want to ask, do post it in the comment
section and don't forget guys do like, share, subscribe because it feels SO DAMN
GOOD when I see those numbers pumping. But I want to have a real conversation
with all of you so do post in the comments and I will reply
