Youtube daily google Sep 3 2018

hello everyone how are you all this

afternoon doing well during the

conference

excellent it's lovely to be here so

thank you everyone for inviting me so

I'm going to be talking about the web

and there are lots of reasons to love

the web for me it's the scale it can

reach users all around the world on

almost any device and the only thing

they need is a browser it's easy to use

and it's easy to share there's nothing

to install and it's an open ecosystem

that anyone can use or build on but you

know for a long time there were many

claims that the web was dead

for example Wired magazine back in 2010

said the web is dead long lived the

internet though but the web was only 18

years old at the time so it was really

just a teenager it's a bit unfortunate

this conference I think very much proves

that the web isn't dead the issue back

at this time was that people were

noticing and documenting that apps had

started to take up more that more

people's time than web does and that led

to headlines back in 2014 like this

mobile app usage increases as mobile web

surfing declines the web is dead long

live the app the decline of the mobile

web and the web is dying

and apps are killing it so what was

happening well it was all to do with

time spent and this is the kind of thing

that was reported this was updated

figures and today only 12% of the time

the people are on their phones is spent

on the mobile web while 88% of it is

spent in native apps and this study was

by conquer the comScore and other

companies find very similar stats and as

you might well know the reason for this

is because people are spending their

time in certain sorts of apps so it's to

do with social networking music games

multimedia and this is why that time

stat is prevalent so these things are

entertainment or communication focus

maybe it's not time that matters so

while it is indeed a great deal of time

that people are spending in apps it's

not evenly distributed across verticals

they found stats like this back in 2014

- although these ones are the latest

ones and back when all these headlines

were published but when people started

looking at this more closely there were

some telltale signs that mobile web has

some great things going for it - they

found that mobile web accounted for more

traffic for many verticals more than our

for many mobile apps for example this

chart this was from 2015 so it was a

year later than all those headlines were

published it shows that retail finance

insurance and travel typically see a 50

percent or higher proportion of their

visits from the mobile web this resulted

in Wired changing their tune the web is

not dead after all

and Google made sure of it and this rip

was reporting about the advancement of

activities that can be done in a browser

and the early successes of progressive

web apps in fact some use cases are

really ideal for the web luke chat Alain

who's the chief innovations officer I've

always wanted a job title like that I

think it's awesome he's a chief

innovations officer for West Elm that

furniture company he made this point

when he stood on the stage last year at

Google's retail conference to explain

why they created a progressive web app

rather than a native app and he said

what people don't buy a couch on their

phone every day so another way of saying

this is understand user behavior and do

what's right to meet your users for your

business in a way that will help them

best

so in order to make the web better we've

been developing progressive web apps so

let me tell you a little bit about this

and I'm going to go into a little bit of

technical detail and you might wonder

what's this got to do with UX design but

I think it has everything to do with UX

design because the technologies that are

coming enable us to design for new types

of experiences on the web and this

really needs to be a designer developer

partnership and when I mentioned

developer I kind of mean all of the UX

functions progressive Web Apps is a new

term for new features and technologies

of the modern web progressive web apps

are enabled by a new set of capabilities

that allow us as designers in

collaboration with developers to

radically improve that user

experience that people have on the web

and we do this by making sure that that

experience is fast we want to make sure

that the experience is better integrated

with device hardware platforms and we

want to ensure that experiences are

reliable and we need to keep users

engaged so let's start with fast users

don't expect janky scrolling or slow

loading for performance from a really

good app the web has a bad name for slow

performance particularly on mobile and

by performance I mean in page

performance as well as load performance

web app loading has to be invisible for

your users

just like with good native apps web apps

should really just work

now it takes a mobile webpage on average

12 seconds to fully load on a 3G

connection and that experience is really

bad for everyone for every one second

delay in page load time conversions drop

by 7% so that's bad for our businesses

so we have to fix this

and also one side-effect of the reach of

the web unlike native apps is that you

can't dictate the starting point for any

particular experience you need to really

carefully think about the performance of

every single page so we have to make

sure that wherever someone starts it's

always a first experience let's talk

about integration as well as speed users

expect app like integration with their

device hardware platform and other apps

you know that great feeling you get when

you use a really well-made app that

tight connection right from the start

that you want the task you want to

achieve you forget you're using an app

really it's just such a tighter engaging

experience so people shouldn't really

have to think about the fact that

they're on the web that they're using

their phone their tablet or their laptop

to complete a task now in terms of

integration when your user visits your

site you can now prompt them to add that

site to the home screen a great example

is from trivago a major travel site that

launched their PWA for 55 different

domains globally and as you can see here

when you tap Add to Home screen this

hits your screen immediately and you can

access that just like you would a native

app it's fast and it's simple so now

when it's added on your home screen it's

more integrated on your device then the

the it's displayed also in your app

launcher just like other apps and it's

part of your overall Android settings

another user experience to design for

that's now possible is push

notifications from the web so we've not

really had that before this example from

Twitter this is Twitter's progressive

web app illustrates push notifications

and how they've integrated on their

progressive web app experience of course

we need to be conscientious and mindful

when we can

to how to design set schedules but this

does provide now a way for businesses to

re-engage people on the web which hasn't

existed before and on the topic of

integration let's touch on new

capabilities for integration for

e-commerce

so digital commerce is such a huge deal

last year ecommerce was worth two point

three zero four trillion dollars

globally most commerce ecommerce

accounted for

I'm sorry mobile Eve's ecommerce

accounted for almost sixty percent of

this fifty eight point nine percent of

this but it's still a really a big

fundamental challenge for the mobile web

specifically the web has gone mobile but

conversions on mobile are one-third

lower than on desktop and it makes sense

it's hard to enter data on a phone so

we're doing as much as possible to you

know remove form experiences and

everything else we need better

integration ecommerce is all about

removing friction so browsers have

worked to address this with autofill and

today on Chrome over nine billion forms

and passwords are Auto filled each month

that's really great but it's not enough

so the payment ap request API goes a

step further

it's a w3c standard for browsers that

provides an interface to users to enter

payments and shipping data so users have

this consistent experience and

developers don't have to reinvent the

wheel from you know your tiny boutique

store to your big ecommerce giant now

sites can use the payment request API to

get it the experience that is shown here

and you can see that Chrome has securely

stored email shipping and the credit

card details for the user the merchant

gets all of this information in a simple

form already pre-populated and now we're

going further than this

since convergence is so much lower on

mobile we need to fix that

so we've released a whole payment

solution that companies use Google pay

and that's the product that I now work

on it enables fast simple checkout

provides easy access to awards and

offers and one spot for purchases and

payment methods really it's trying to do

away with forms so that this one-click

experience and you know a lot of the way

we're getting users ready to pay is

through autofill and getting credit

cards into the cloud like that so users

across the board and ready to pay even

if it's the first time they've used your

product so you can see that the web has

become an environment that is fit for

the possibility of providing really

great experiences that users need better

reliability as well with progressive Web

Apps we make sure the experience always

works because when it doesn't work or

when it loads too slowly

it breaks the user experience and it

destroys that user trust so creating a

reliable experience is really crucial

when a user taps on home screen icon

they expect it to low instantly and

reliably we've become used to always

being online and as much as I like this

cute little fella we don't really need

to see him weird rather we didn't so

imagine getting a system-generated error

message from your offline native app

that would seem crazy and it's not just

no connection that breaks the user

experience slow and intermittent

connections can be even worse we call

this life I write even here in the Bay

Area believe it or not there are areas

with poor cell coverage and there are

people here in the u.s. that have to use

dial-up to get online and worldwide more

than 60% of cell phones are on 2g so

likewise broadband infrastructure is

often poor and as you see here many

people in the u.s. don't have access to

a fast broadband a similar picture in

many other regions now though the news

on this is it exists this new technology

called service workers written in

JavaScript it's a client-side proxy that

acts as an intermediary between your web

app and the outside world

it can cache resources to ensure a

reliable experience no matter what the

connection is like because resources can

be pulled directly from the cache

instead of from the network so your app

can work even if there's no network

connection for us as UX professionals

this means we'll be designing for

offline experiences for the web a whole

new realm for us to explore is what can

we achieve for our users for our

companies when people are offline or in

places with flaky network connections

these service workers are part of what's

at the core of PWA is they also enable

the push notifications I mentioned

earlier lastly a truly engaging app

experience needs to go beyond being

functional reliable and ensure that the

whole experience is delightful and makes

it easy for the user to do what they

want an engaging experience starts at

the very beginning with a delightful

first-run experience and it continues

through all your user journeys and works

perfectly without friction

so the an engaging PWA uses the magic of

the web it's indexable searchable its

linkable and shareable the experience is

timely and relevant and precise because

it counts for users context and what

matters to them right now

so making enough engaging ranges from

basic experiences that are imperative to

get right and this includes asking for

permissions only when you need it not as

soon as it opens and asking people to

sign up and sign in at the right time

when they were perfectly invested and

there's something in it for them and not

just for our businesses I'm removing

friction in forms many presentations

have talked a lot about forms before my

colleague Luke Wroblewski talks about it

plenty but there's still plenty of for

experiences on the web we actually did

an audit this year of 400 top web sites

in Europe and we found 42 percent of the

sites from across 15 countries didn't

show the appropriate keyboard for the

input type so obviously that's friction

it's the best practice that's been out

there for a long time and 27 percent

didn't show optional fields there's a

couple of problems with this users might

be overwhelmed with the sheer number of

you know form fields they need to fill

in and they might struggle on one that's

actually not applicable to them and

eventually give up so a lot of errors we

see with

forms can be overcome by the use of and

the proper implementation of auto film

now it's critical to make sure you're

following all of the best practices for

web design obviously using the right

input type and using features

appropriately and at Google we've done

some extensive usability studies to

develop now all in all 75 principles

that encapture the best practices on

mobile we had we did large studies on

Android and iOS and we looked at 250

different mobile sites and apps and this

led to all of these principles here the

second set in each of those that you see

have additional links in it that go to

code snippets and and different

resources for developers and so those

ones you can pass on to any developers

you're working with - so making sure the

user experience basics is good as well

as enabling delightful perhaps

personalized context-dependent

experiences makes a web app experience

engaging and at Google we're working on

creative progressive web experiences

that scale so Google search uses a PWA

to make sure it's possible for users to

ask questions when they're offline and

then when they come back online that it

provides an answer once they've

reconnected that uses service workers

and background sync and push

notifications to let people know that

the answer has now been found by using

service workers they were able to reduce

the number of external javascript

requests by nearly 50% and reduce the

number of user interactions delayed by

loading JavaScript by 6% bulletin is a

new way to create and share hyperlocal

stories all built around a progressive

web app it's a tiny fraction of the size

of a native app with a hundred percent

of the functionality and they do some

really neat stuff with media capture API

to make it really easy for users to

capture the moment and sharing is as

simple as sharing a URL and the Maps

team recently shipped a progressive web

app themselves they saw progressive web

apps as a way to radically improve their

experience for their users on low-end

devices or when they're on flaky network

connections and it would be great if

these improve

experiences are available to users no

matter what browser they use if the

browser supports it and if developers

can build on it and designers can design

for it and this is becoming a reality

service workers are now supported in

essentially every modern browser

including Safari and edge an apple ship

support for service workers in late

March and with the recent update to edge

they're now supported their two browser

vendors are adding support for all new

kinds of capabilities that enhance the

user experience edge also got push

notifications and is doing some

interesting stuff with their store and

Firefox our support for push

notifications as well and is working on

the new web authentication api's and

Safari is also working on the web off

api's as well so that's the basics of

progressive web apps and it's exciting

to see how these are transforming web

user experience now let's take a look at

one example of progressive web app this

one from Starbucks it takes advantage of

many of the new capabilities and brings

a modern web experience to their

customers it makes it easy to browse the

menu customize and place an order or pay

for an order in a store so let's

consider how that fire acronym the first

integrated reliable and engaging implies

to the Starbucks experience so the

Starbucks site loads fast but it also

feels really fast and the way Starbucks

does this is using placeholder content

like you see here until the actual

content is loaded it's kind of you know

most of the time the users don't notice

it but it really makes a difference to

that Pacific perceived speed it looks

like things have started to load and

those grey placeholders are quickly

replaced by the actual content and on

faster networks when the content has

already been pre cached users don't even

see it there so they're not aware of it

another aspect of the past experience is

navigating between pages navigations

feel fast and they are fast it never

fails to like to the user that the page

does a full kind of reload navigation

shouldn't rely only on the network but

instead everything should be pre cached

and ready to go to reduce

friction of signing in Starbucks use the

credential management API which makes

signers as simple as one tap and as you

can see here the add to home homescreen

prompt that you can see at the bottom

and I can easily add it to my home

screen and launcher and soon the add to

homescreen banner is not going to show

automatically anymore instead we'll have

to add a little bit of UI to our app to

prompt the user and when that happens we

need to be careful that we don't go in

add you know anything like a full page

interstitial again because nobody really

likes those so when they use agile PWA

to their home screen on Android Chrome

automatically generates the apk for you

which we sometimes call a webby apk

having a webby apk means your app shows

up in the app launcher and in your

settings where you can see the amount of

storage use its permissions and so forth

to make the experience reliable

experience the Starbucks PWA uses work

box with a combination of pre caching

strategies so it's caching a lot of this

information and runtime caching

strategies by pre-caching that content

they can make sure that those key

resources always available and served

directly from the cache without having

to wait for the network then as the user

uses a Yap additional content is cached

as they navigate round the app so

sometimes some of that content isn't

uncashed until users go there if they're

then in a flaky network connection they

can get back to it while placing an

order offline is of course impossible

the Starbucks PWA makes it possible for

a user to pay for an order in the store

because they pre cached the payment

information so it uses indexeddb to save

information on each menu item store

information the users Starbucks card and

more so if I'm in perhaps a different

country than I usually am and I haven't

got a connection there

I can pay in this offline way Starbucks

focus on the user experience to make

their progressive web app engaging

placing an order has to be easy so that

users can customize the drink with the

many possible options available they

paid attention to fundamental details

like the navigation

and stack making sure that the back

button always does the right thing that

it goes back step by step rather than

jumping back to the home screen or some

other random page and to make the

experience really feel alive Starbucks

use content specific animations and

messaging for the user for example after

clicking add to order it shows this

toast here that it's added my audit of

my bank so through creating this fast

integrated reliable and engaging

experience Starbucks have put their

customers first to meet their needs

where they are to make it convenient and

delightful for them to get their

favorite drink

so this improved user experience has

really paid off for Starbucks they've

got some wonderful data that the orders

are growing 12% week over week and

because Starbucks took a responsive

approach and made sure the experience

works nicely on desktop they're also

seen desktop users use the web app in

order to order ahead so their drink is

ready when they get there we attribute

many of the progressions I shouldn't use

that word really the evolution of

progressive web app very much to mobile

and Mobile's being the key focus of

progressive web apps however we're

starting work on desktop because desktop

experience is still growing it just has

a different pattern in users lives

whereas mobile and tablet are used in

the morning and evening it's used more

often like more often distributed

throughout the day particularly because

of the productivity tools we use at work

users have really high expectations of

desktop apps and they also need to be

fast integrated reliable and engaging so

that they look and feel like other apps

we're used to on desktop so progressive

web apps development is happening for

Chrome Mac and Windows and when those

users can already install desktop

progressive web apps through the

Microsoft app store so things are

starting to merge like that so if a team

has created a mobile progressive web app

they don't have to do a great deal more

work to create one for desktop it works

you know reliably we can use web push

and notifications the only real

difference isn't

dead of running in a browser tab it runs

in an app window there are no tabs or

address bar is just an app is oft

optimized to support the needs of apps

so you can think about flexible window

organizing organization and manipulation

at windows make it really easy to unit

tasks with the window in full screen or

multitask with multiple screens and it's

really responsive design that matters

here you can also do your app switching

with you know your alt tab that works

well here so that's a nice experience

and and you can have the title bar theme

based on the theme color defined in the

web app manifest as you can see here so

different things you can do with the app

menu there then things that you'd expect

print the page change the zoom level

open the app in the browser and they

have this large screen escape so you can

add additional breakpoints and really

think about your responsive design here

whether that's for a full week's

forecast or if you're gonna move it down

and then perhaps just have one day of

weather or if that was a music app just

you know the the button to move to the

next song so we can take that idea of

progressive web apps and think about how

we're going to support convertibles like

the pixel book or the surface so you

know when we switch those to tablet mode

the devices make the active window

fullscreen and depending on how the user

holds a device that can be either

landscape or portrait and again we need

to think about this responsive design so

and that window opens up lots of new

possibilities so we need to take that

responsive approach that adds new

breakpoints for larger screens supports

landscape or portrait views works when

full screen or not and nicely also works

with virtual keyboards and what's next

we're looking at support for mac and

Windows we're looking at things like

adding support for keyboard shortcuts

badging for the launch icon the launch

icon so users can be informed about

important events that full notifications

aren't needed for and link capturing

opening installed pwace when the user

kick clicks on

Lync handled by the app and so we'll be

making more announcements about this on

our chromium blog so take a look there

for the new technologies coming out with

that so just to summarize I wanted to

take this time I have with you today to

tell you all about progressive Web Apps

because in my experience is primarily

developer communities that are talking

about this and I think it's really

important for user experience and design

professionals to get involved with this

we need to work with developers to

determine what experience it is we can

provide through that caching we are the

ones that are going to have some great

ideas and do the research to understand

what those offline experiences ought to

be there were all sorts of user journeys

that can benefit from this such as you

know browsing content when you want

underground transit and that kind of

thing so working together designers and

developers and it's really exciting

consider how these transformations of

the web will support the next use cases

and user experiences we can design for

so that's what I've got for you today

thank you so much for your time you can

thanks a lot

Google Digital Sales Certification Exam Answers 2018✅Live Exam Pass✅100% correct

Which is a benefit of advertising online with Google Ads? a – Advertisers pay the same amount every time someone clicks their ad b – Advertisers can pay to always show their ad above the organic search results c – Advertisers can choose how much they spend and only pay when someone clicks their ad d – Advertisers can choose how many times their ad should show during the day Asking the client, "Is there anything else you want to be sure we discuss during our meeting?" is: a – a bad idea, because it gives the client unnecessary control of the meeting. b – a good idea, but only if you know the client will not bring up any concerns. c – a good idea, because you get the client's input which makes the client feel like he is being listened to. d – a bad idea, because the client may feel you do not know what you are doing. Why is it important to understand the expectations a client has of you? It is important so you can persuade the client into spending more money It is only important if you think the client may have false assumptions on how the campaign will work To give you the opportunity to tell the client if she is unreasonable in her requests, so you can help her achieve her goals It will help you better understand how your client wants to be served so you can provide a great experience Before asking your client questions about her business, it is best to tell her the reasons for the questions and the benefit because: a – it shows the client you value her insight and partnership so you can provide a tailored solution. b – it gives the client the opportunity to decide if she needs to gather more information before answering your questions. It is only important if you think the client may have false assumptions on how the campaign will work c – it will help you appear more confident to the client and she will be more likely to give you truthful responses. d – you do not want the client to feel as though you are wasting her time. All other things being equal, if you've set a maximum cost-per-click (max. CPC) bid of $1.00 for your ads, and if the next most competitive bid is $0.50 for the same ad position, what is the actual amount you'd pay for that click? 1 0.5 0.51 1.01 You are nearing the end of a successful meeting with a client, when she tells you, "this all sounds really great, but I do not have the budget for Google Search right now." What should you do next? Empathize and ask the client to tell you more about her concern Ask the client if her long-term success is worth making room in her budget Find out if the client has someone she reports to who may be able to approve the investment in display Explain the return on investment the client can expect and explain why she should make room in her budget You would choose to advertise on the Google Search Network if you wanted to: choose the types of websites where you want your ads to show choose from a range of ad formats, like video and image ads reach customers while they're searching for your products or services reach customers browsing websites related to your business Which statistic indicates how often a click has led to a conversion? Clickthrough rate (CTR) Clicks Cost-per-conversion Conversion rate Your client wants to improve his ad positioning. You recommend that one way he can do this is by increasing his bid amount. Why is it a good idea to also explain to your client how this will benefit him? a – It is a good idea to help the client understand how increasing his bid amount and ad quality will help reach his goal of reaching more customers b – It is only a good idea if the client shows a high level of interest and tells you he wants to spend more money c – It is not a good idea to recommend this at all, because it might offend the client d – It is not a good idea, because the client probably already knows how it will benefit him and you do not want to sound overbearing Starting a client meeting with an agenda: can help lower the client's resistance, because he will know what to expect. is too structured and will probably scare the client. is only necessary if you do not have experience in selling Google products. makes the client feel he is important, even if he is not a key decision-maker. An advertiser wants to achieve the top position in paid search results. Which recommendations would improve the likelihood of top ad position? Improve Quality Score and increase cost-per-click (CPC) bid Decrease cost-per-click (CPC) bid and increase daily budget Decrease cost-per-click (CPC) bid and decrease dailybudget Improve Quality Score and decrease cost-per-click (CPC) bid Your ad can show on the Google Search Network when someone searches for terms that are similar to your: Placements Ad text WebsiteDecrease cost-per-click (CPC) bid and decrease daily budget KeywordsQuality Score and decrease cost-per-click (CPC) bid You can use Display Planner to: see ways to reach your target audience based on your keywords, website, or interest categories compare how your current Display Network campaign could perform on websites you'd like to target see which image and text ads are performing best on the specific websites you're targeting see how other advertisers perform on websites where you want your ad to appear You want to generate leads with your Google Ads campaign by encouraging people to fill out an interest form on your website. What do you need to know to measure return on investment (ROI) for this campaign? How much you've spent on the campaign compared to the value of leads generated The number of clicks your ad received divided by the number of times it showed You can't calculate return on investment for campaigns that are focused on online leads The percentage of budget spent compared to how many forms were completed You are about to conclude your meeting with a new client who would like to start an online marketing campaign. Before concluding the meeting, what best practice should you use? A question that includes factual information based on market research, such as, "Four in five consumers want search ads to be customized to their city or immediate surroundings. How are you approaching your local online opportunity?" is a good example of: a question that the client may not be able to answer, because it is confusing. a question that will upset the client because the client may feel as though you are questioning their current marketing strategy. how to misinterpret data to persuade the client to buy Google Ads. demonstrating credibility, while also seeking to understand how the client is currently approaching marketing. Ad relevance Expected clickthrough rate (CTR) Landing page experience Maximum cost-per-click (max. CPC) bid Which client would you advise to advertise on the Google Search Network? Suzy, who wants to reach people browsing travel websites about China Jim, who wants to reach people on social networks interested in poetry Carol, who wants to reach people watching YouTube videos Bill, who wants to reach people looking for plumbing services Your client mentions he has some concerns about implementing a Google Search campaign. Which is a good example of clarifying the client's concerns? "Can you please tell me more about what you have heard that concerns you?"Suzy, who wants to reach people browsing travel websites about China "I can see how that would be your concern, but you do not have to worry about that." "This sounds more like a concern your supervisor mentioned. Is that correct?" "It sounds like you are getting incorrect information. What is the role of the person who told you that?" "I can see how that would be frustrating" and "That is a valid concern. Many of my clients have expressed that same concern before starting their campaign" are both examples of speaking with a concerned client. These types of responses are: helpful because they let the client know her concern is valid and can help lower her resistance. beneficial because clients buy from sales representatives they like."I can see how that would be your concern, but you do not have to worry about that." only beneficial when speaking with a client that is more emotional versus logical. not beneficial, because clients do not need reassurance. Negative keywords can help advertisers refine the targeting of their ads by: increasing the number of relevant Display Network placements reducing their campaign's daily budget recommendations raising the average position of their ads reducing the number of irrelevant clicks Your client wants to show ads to people who've visited her website before. Which Google Ads feature would you recommend she use? What would you recommend? Improve Quality Score and decrease bid amount Make the ad headline longer and more descriptive Improve the ad quality and increase bid amount Add more keywords and increase daily budget During a sales meeting, you use the Google Trends tool to show insights and link back to what the client said about hiring someone to create online campaigns for her toy store website. What is the purpose of doing this? To let the client know you are the expert There is no purpose to linking back to what the client said It gives you an advantage in negotiating with the client It shows the client that the solution is customized to her situation Advertising on TV, print, and radio typically requires a predetermined budget. What key differences enable some online advertising campaigns to invest with more flexibility without a predetermined budget in mind? Budgets cannot be applied to online campaigns due to constant changes in traffic. Online campaigns are highly measurable and can often automate a positive ROI. It can be strategic to capture all traffic without a predetermined budget as long as ROI is positive. Google Ads budgets can only be set once annually and require a fixed commitment. It shows the client that the solution is customized to her situation Which is a benefit of advertising online? Make money by showing ads on your website Automatically collect information about potential customers Reach people who are likely interested in what you're advertising Increase your position in organic search results When introducing yourself to a new client, it is important to share: a – your name. b – your name and a brief 15 minute overview of Google Ads. c – your name and the product you think will benefit the client the most. d – your name, your role, and relevant experience in helping companies similar to the client. A client that owns a fine-dining restaurant in London wants to get more phone calls from people researching places to eat on their mobile phones. How should you optimize this client's campaign to help achieve their goal? Include a phone number in the client's ad's headline and monitor performance with the top vs. other segment Add call extensions to the client's ads and monitor performance with the mobile clicks-to-call segment Add call extensions to the client's ads and monitor performance with the top vs. other segment Include a phone number in the client's ad's headline and monitor performance with the mobile clicks-to-call segment Before you meet with your new client, your online research showed that she played golf for a local college you also attended. Bringing this up in when you meet would: demonstrate your online research abilities so the client sees you as an expert in anything related to growing business online. increase the length of your meeting beyond what is really necessary. be unnecessary, because it will not help you make the sale. demonstrate your interest in the client as a person and help build rapport. Which is a good example of a question to better understand the client's primary motivating factor for using Google Ads? "Who else needs to be involved in this decision?" "When do you want to get started?" "What is your budget?" "How will this impact your business long-term?"

Google "Trở Nên Xấu Xa" ở Trung Quốc | Trung Quốc Không Kiểm Duyệt - Duration: 12:01.

On this episode of China Uncensored,

I miss Ask Jeeves.

Welcome back to China Uncensored,

I'm your host Chris Chappell.

Good news, everyone!

Google has finally taken the chains off.

Back in May,

Google removed its famous "don't be evil" motto

from its code of conduct.

Google's new motto is:

Don't let anyone find out that you're evil.

Moral relativism is cool.

What is evil, anyway?

Don't be unprofitable.

Don't learn from your mistakes.

No, history never repeats itself.

Or at least that's what I assume from this article from the Intercept.

It turns out, there's a tratorious Google employee

who still hasn't gotten the hang of being evil but hiding it per company policy.

Because that employee revealed Google's top secret project:

making a censored Android app for China that uses their search engine.

The secret project is called Dragonfly,

and it's allegedly been in the works among a select number of employees

since the spring of 2017.

We reached out to Google for comment about their search engine in China.

Their "Google Spokesperson" said they do have mobile apps in China,

but they don't comment on speculation about future plans.

It's like if your wife asks,

"You're not going to eat that entire box of Cheez-Its

in one sitting, are you?"

And you reply,

"There are things I'm going to eat,

but I don't comment on specific future eating plans."

So China has a pretty big internet market:

750 million Internet users.

That's bigger than the entire population of Europe.

And it seems like,

well there's a ton of money Google could be making in China.

And now that Google isn't concerned about not being evil,

they can finally tap into it.

With the help of an "unnamed" Chinese partner company.

As you know, the Chinese Communist Party

likes to keep a tight grip on the Internet.

Otherwise Chinese citizens might learn dangerous things,

like how their government was totally willing to massacre

a bunch of students in Tiananmen Square.

With the new Google search engine app for Android,

Chinese people don't need to know all that.

Because they won't even be able to find links

to troubling informational websites with

you know, facts—

like the BBC or Wikipedia.

Now you might be concerned that Google's

new alleged Chinese search engine would create

some kind of bad precedent.

That, if the biggest search engine in the world

is willing to cave to Chinese censorship demands,

why should any company resist?

It's a fair point, but may I remind you

HOW MUCH MONEY IS ON THE LINE HERE, PEOPLE!

In fact, maybe Google's new motto is actually:

Don't be unprofitable.

After all, being evil can make you so much money.

Clearly that important point was lost on the Google employee

who leaked the secret plan.

He told The Intercept,

"I'm against large companies and governments collaborating

in the oppression of their people,

and feel like transparency around

what's being done is in the public interest,"

and that "what is done in China will become a template

for many other nations."

What?

Are you saying that this will embolden other authoritarian nations

to further limit free information?

Well, don't worry,

because other authoritarian nations don't have

750 million internet users.

Cha-ching.

Google is a company with 88,000 employees.

You can't expect them all to have jumped on

the evil is okay bandwagon.

So to minimize the chance of leaks,

only "a handful of top executives and managers,"

knew about project Dragonfly.

Executives like the current CEO.

Last December, he travelled to China

and met with top Communist Party officials,

who had great money-making ideas,

as communist officials always do.

That same month,

Google opened an artificial intelligence

research center in Beijing.

In May, they brought their file management app

to the Chinese market.

And in July, they launched a fun game

for the popular Chinese messaging app WeChat.

Let's just say there are some privacy concerns about WeChat.

Clearly not a concern for Google, though!

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Google's unnamed

Chinese partner company is Tencent,

the maker of WeChat.

I wonder if this new app will also give user data

directly to the Chinese government,

just like WeChat does!

Now some people have compared Google's move to

the shameful history of IBM in Nazi Germany.

I mean, I'm not making that comparison.

I'm just saying, some people have—

and now you know that.

But giving in to the Chinese regime isn't actually new for Google.

They were in China before.

In 2006, Google set up

a highly censored version of their search engine

for the Chinese market.

And Google got slammed for it.

Here's a clip from a 2006 Congressional hearing about

American tech companies.

US Congressman Chris Smith was not too happy with Google.

"When a user enters a forbidden word,

such as 'democracy' or 'Chinese torture' or 'Falun Gong,'

the search results are blocked,

or you are redirected to a misleading site,

and the user's computer can be frozen

for unspecified periods of time…"

"...It is hard not to draw the conclusion that Google

has seriously compromised its 'Don't Be Evil' policy."

Well guess what, foolish politician actually trying to call out

a big corporation for it shady behavior?

Google doesn't have the "don't be evil" policy anymore.

Take that!

Problem solved.

So what happened to that censored Chinese version of Google

that Congressman Smith was complaining about in 2006?

Four years later, Google backed out.

In a 2010 official blog post, they said:

Guess what?

The Chinese Communist Party hacked us.

And they targeted the gmail accounts of human rights activists.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal.

Google stood up to the evil Chinese regime.

They announced that they were uncensoring their search engine,

and if that meant the regime kicked them out of China,

so be it.

And so it was.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin,

who partly grew up in the Soviet Union,

told the Wall Street Journal that he was worried about

China's totalitarianism.

And, at the time,

I praised Google for doing the right thing.

It turned out later,

their pull-out might have been about

more than just doing what was right.

It was also maybe because they were

hardly making any money in China.

But don't worry.

Google is under new leadership now!

And their new motto is:

Don't learn from your mistakes.

Because, the lesson from this should have been:

It's really hard for Google to make money in the China

because the Chinese regime will always

stack the cards against you in favor of Chinese companies

while also hacking you and stealing your intellectual property.

But the lesson the new Google CEO took was:

If at first you don't succeed,

try, try again.

But now with more evil.

The sad part is,

Google is hardly alone in wanting to be in China:

Bing and Yahoo already have censored search engines there,

although they have a fraction of the market share

of Chinese companies like Baidu.

Apple has made a huge investment in China.

And we all know that Mark Zuckerberg

will literally run through the Beijing smog

to get Facebook there.

But at one point, Google was alone

in standing up to the Chinese Communist Party.

Which makes this new search engine thing

so much more disappointing.

And now the question on my mind is,

if Google does get back into the Chinese market,

and is desperate to make money there,

what happens if someday the Chinese Communist Party

decides it doesn't like how Google operates outside China?

Like they do with, I don't know,

international airlines that call Taiwan a country.

To get into the Chinese market,

would Google be more evil outside China, too?

As someone who hosts the world's

most important English-language satirical news show

about China on YouTube,

which is owned by Google,

I'm a little bit concerned.

When you have a moment, try this.

Do a search for China Uncensored.

"China uncensorship pollution"!?

That's a funny autocomplete!

Oddly enough, our newer, much smaller podcast,

China Unscripted, does come up.

We've also had fans of the show tell us

that they've stopped seeing China Uncensored

in recommended videos.

That they get no notification of new episodes,

even when they have the notification bell turned on.

We're constantly having videos get demonetized.

And get this:

Some viewers have told me they were suddenly

unsubscribed from China Uncensored.

That even happened to Shelley,

who you know,

is on the show.

And I'm sure all of these problems will get much better

once Google has serious financial stakes in China.

There's no evidence that Google

is intentionally targeting China Uncensored.

It could just be that Google is inept.

And that is completely possible.

You see, China is no less totalitarian than it was back in 2010,

when Google initially pulled out.

In fact, they are increasingly using online surveillance

to control Chinese people.

But even if Google doesn't care about being evil anymore—

even if all they care about is making money for their shareholders,

or if they're just drooling over the idea of getting a piece of

750 million internet users—

going in to China is a bad idea.

Having a Chinese partner company

may help Google make more money,

but there's definitely a price to pay.

And it might be higher than they think.

Which is why Google should really change their motto to:

Don't be stupid.

What do you think about Google's re-entry into China?

What should their new motto be?

Leave your comments below.

And now, it's time to answer questions from fans

who support the show on the crowd funding website Patreon.

Alfred Schneider aks,

"Chris, I've heard that PRC have built

some delightful vacation resorts

in the South China Sea.

Which one would you like to visit the most, and why?"

Oh Alfred, that is probably the toughest question

I've been asked so far.

There are so many; how can I choose?

Yes, the Chinese Communist Party is developing

a booming tourism industry in the South China Sea.

Particularly in disputed territories.

I mean, my favorite Chinese state-run media the Global Times

makes a vacation there sound so appealing.

Look at that beachfront view.

"Since 2013, around 10,000 Chinese tourists have been able

to enjoy the natural beauty of the Xisha Islands."

Otherwise known as the Paracel Islands,

territory claimed by China, Vietnam, and Taiwan.

The best part about vacationing in these wonderful resorts

is probably the flybys from Chinese nuclear capable bombers.

Now if that doesn't sound like a vacation,

I don't know what does.

Just like the tourists in this Global Times article,

I too would love to travel to the Xisha-slash-Paracel Islands

on the Coconut-fragrance Princess,

watch a flag-raising ceremony

as the Chinese National Anthem is played over the water,

and talk about never giving up an inch

of China's territorial integrity.

Thanks for your question Alfred.

And before we wrap up,

this is a good time to make a plug for your support.

This show is funded mainly not through Google ads,

but through contributions from viewers like you

You can contribute a dollar or more per episode

through the crowdfunding website Patreon.

You'll get cool rewards,

including a chance to have your questions for me

answered here on the show.

And even if you can't support China Uncensored on Patreon,

you can make a huge difference by just

sharing the show with your friends and family.

Since Google is going to make that as hard as possible.

♫ Music ♫

Why aren't you sleeping?

Because I'm watching videow to try to distract the mind because I can't sleep,

thinking that Googlelino is inside that little box ...

But he's fine, it's for a good reason, but ...

I can not sleep, I can not sleep.

Then I watch a movie to see if the time passes until he arrives.

My mother said that the baggage handler said he's already on the plane, at least.

That is, inside the plane he is.

Look, my mother sent one more!

I was getting on the plane and I saw him on the stairs, I went out and asked.

That's her explaining how she got to the luggage carrier ...

♫ Music ♫

We got here at the marina.

Marina Honey Ball.

And we're ready to go get Google.

We've already booked the car, so we're going to get the car to go get Google.

♫ Music ♫

Why is it that when you're in a hurry things tend to slow down?

Just so we can die from heart attack, right? Beto laughs at my face.

Now we're here waiting for the car that will take long, I think.

It's been over 40 minutes that we've been waiting here, practically 50 minutes.

I'm so nervous, I don't know if I kill or if I hang someone, I'm trying to find out what I do.

I start to cry before getting Google.

It's just that I get so pissed that we plan everything ...

We've been waiting for over an hour to rent the car... over an hour.

We have already rented on the internet, just to withdraw and the others have no more cars.

And this one that we are expecting the guy that is in the front for more than 50 minutes.

That is, we will not arrive in time to catch Google.

I'm very angry.

We already came by taxi so we did not have to take a bus, so we did not have to delay, we came to the marina, with time ...

We took the taxi at midday, enough time, but not to wait an hour to rent a car, right?

My goodness, if you only knew ...

I came here in the bathroom to see if I calm down, to see if I don't fly around people's necks.

Because I'm dangerous when I'm stressed, I'm dangerous.

Breathe ... Google will arrive, this is the most important thing, but I really wanted to be there when he arrived ...

A lot, a lot, a lot ... But that's okay ...

After 1:30 hours of delay, we are going to get Googlelino with the car, after I already cryied,

got mad, but ok...

And now let's see if we can make it. Google's flight, we looked at the internet, it's late too.

So maybe we still have a little hope that we'll get there in time.

♫ Music ♫

Google liked his box so much that he wants to go with Beto, look, "where are they taking my house?"

Googlelino is back, guys! Right, Googlelino?

Googlelino had a great trip, now he has already peed, he is entertained wondering what is happening here.

I'm wating for my mother, who left half the things in the way.

♫ Music ♫

A new pint on the tongue.

Who's different? Who's different?

♫ Music ♫

My love is already dying of heat, isn't it right, my love?

♫ Music ♫

♫ Music ♫

Googlelino now has a passport, all right.

We came here in an authorized place to get his passport, very good.

We decided to do this soon, they arrived yesterday, we decided to do it today,

because everything is recent, everything fresh.

And there was no problem, thank God!

Now Google can travel, he can do everything.

He no longer will have to go quarantine. If he goes to Brazil, he can come back, he doesn't have to do anything else.

♫ Music ♫

Who's back?

Googlelino, Googlelino!

We decided to buy the boat when we were here on our honeymoon.

and Google, obviously was in the plans, we never thought about abandoning Google,

leaving Google behind.

The process for dogs is much more time consuming than ours.

So as soon as we arrived, we did not even know whether we would buy the boat or not,

we started going after the bureaucratic part of Google.

First thing of all: dogs have to have microchip.

Google already came with a microchip, so that was a month less.

Of the whole process.

Because the first thing is to put the microchip, wait a month and take the rabies vaccine.

So we went to the vet, applied the anti-rabies vaccine, which is an international vaccine.

We waited a month for the serology.

♫ Music ♫

After the serology, you have to wait 3 months, which was the most time consuming process.

During these 3 months, Google's results, that is this one, everything went well,

his serology is all in order.

And you need this documentation to take to the Ministry of Agriculture.

We were no longer there when those three months passed.

And my mother took all the papers in the Ministry of Agriculture, which is at Viracopos airport,

it was the closest to us, but there is one at Guarulhos, too.

It worked, even though the guy said he was not going to embark the dog because of the name.

And it was with all the paperwork, which are: a certificate from the veterinarian saying that everything is in order;

serology, microchip application certificate and his vaccination card

showing exactly what day the anger vaccine was given.

My mother was super worried but in the end it was super fast and super ok.

And then, from the moment you take that paper in the Ministry of Agriculture, which is this one,

you have 10 days to reach the destination with your dog.

Strangely enough, they did not ask for paperwork at all.

This has already happened, I have read in several dog forums, sometimes they don't ask for the papers.

But you won't take the risk, right?

This bureaucratic part you always find step by step on the internet at the Ministry of Agriculture.

What was more complicated for us, right my love, was his size.

Because he is a large dog and many airlines do not accept large dogs.

So they said at first that we would have to dispatch as living cargo.

Then we started researching and it was 2,000 dollars to despatch him as a cargo.

I told Beto that it is absurd, it is more than a ticket for a human being, right?

And then we started to see other means and the other way was to dispatch him on the same plane

or as a companion dog.

We didn't choose to be a companion dog because no one is depressed, nobody needs him much

and we could be taking a space on the plane of someone who really needs, some blind person,

or a person who has depression, who has panic syndrome, anyway.

So we decided to dispatch him.

Talking to the vet, he also said that Google is a super zen dog, super peaceful,

it's going to be even better you dispatch him than he goes in the cabin.

Because of the light, because of the smell, because of people moving, food passing, small space ...

So we decided to dispatch him.

And let's agree that the house he came from, he came much more comfortable than us, who is sitting like that,

squeezed in the chair.

♫ Music ♫

So we bought Gulliver, the biggest one.

He got in the box, gave a 360 turn, did everything right. I filmed all this and went to talk to the Lufthansa people.

The day I went on board I went to Lufthansa, talked to the people there and they said:

We put this measure to remain some space, that he has to give a 360 degrees turn, all this,

because there are people who are clueless and puts the dog tight.

They said they have to feel that the dog is comfortable, if they see that the dog is comfortable,

okay.

So this was a dilemma I see that many people who have Goldens have this problem

to know the size of the box.

It seems very difficult. I suffered a lot until I was sure everything would work out.

We contacted a travel agency in Sorocaba, which is Home Travel.

And Paola, who was the one who took care of us, a person in love with dogs and,

whenever there was a dog to embark, she is responsible.

Then she started to research: in LATAM, only small dogs are allowed, the other could only weigh up to 30kg ...

Google has 33kg, plus the box, would not be enough.

Until we arrived at Lufthansa and she started to get in touch.

Because it is very difficult for you to do this flight research without some monitoring from some agency.

Because you need to call, you need to check that the plane you are going to take has room for the dog,

because it is not all the planes that have this compartment for the dog.

So it's nice to get in touch with some tour company to see that part.

And in the end, it was much cheaper, she made a super good deal for us and he came to Venice.

We just have to thank you, it was wonderful.

They accompanied Google at the time of shipment, it was super, it was very good.

My mother was responsible for bringing the little boy here.

In one of the flights she asked to leave the plane to talk to the guy who was carrying the bags,

to make sure Google was inside the flight.

The first night he got very agitated, he could not sleep right, he did not know what was happening.

They shoved him inside a box and suddenly he got out on a boat with everything going on, he was very euphoric.

Then at 3 in the morning he would go, take toys, he would go in the room, bring toys to my mother ...

He was going to take more toys to us, he would wake up my mother.

So no one slept the first night.

But on the second night everything was already in order.

Google is now an Italian citizen.

We chose to make the passport because as we travel the whole time,

the passport is nothing more than an updated and international vaccination card.

Then it is much easier, already has the number of the microchip here, already has the date of vaccination, already has the serology.

And already says that he entered Europe, so from the time he entered Europe,

he can circulate throughout Europe except a few countries such as UK and all.

But he can move around, just keep the rabies vaccine up to date.

That's the only thing the vet said.

And on the passport, I have to make two mega acknowledgments.

One, to Giovanni, who paid the fee, because usually when it is regional bank or you have to go to the bank

or you do transfer.

And it was much easier, as he is here from Italy, he made the transfer, which is 10 euros to make the passport.

And I also have to thank Gabriele, who is from Italy but lives in Brazil.

And he helped me find the nearest vet, he had already talked to the vet before,

explained the whole story, because of residence, check residence and everything.

Since we live on a boat.

So he helped with this and found the vet to do it.

We arrived on Monday and the vet already knew everything.

What did I need to bring to the vet?

I take all the documents, but basically you need to take the paper of the Ministry of Agriculture.

In the paper of the Ministry already has the microchip certificate, serology and rabies vaccine.

And I went with my Spanish citizenship.

See, Helio? For those who think I went to drink in Spain, I didn't. I went to get my ID.

That makes life a lot easier here in Europe.

Everyone who asked "and Google?", Every time I read it my heart was tight.

But tightened in a way ... I was missing him, missing him so much.

We always wondered, where is he going to sleep? Will he lick the mast?

Would he stretch as he stretched? Will he climb into bed? Will he go down and climb the ladder?

There were so many "What if?" and we were in an anxiety as soon as ...

I can not explain ... And his arrival, the time I saw him, he was watching ...

Oh, I can not even speak ...

He looked at it like that, but he did not know what he was doing, if he walked, if he did not walk,

if he licked me, then he started to lick me, he started to cry ...

He is loving the boat. He is "brizola", he is "brizola" out there, we talk "brizola". Né, brizola?

He's climbing the bed, of course. Lying in bed, obvious.

Not the first few days, because it was so hot. He just climbed a little and came down,

but lately it has cooled, he goes up and sleeps in bed and there he stays.

It's been almost 3 months that we've been waiting, right, sweetheart?

It was almost 3 months, it hurt a lot ... He was missed a lot, but now he's here, right, my love?

He's with his family and he's very happy.

Well, that's it, otherwise I'll keep crying.

And we're going to do a live on Thursday to get more questions about it, there are a lot of people who ask

so leave your comment to us to know what questions you have about a pet on board,

about traveling with pets, all this part, to get the doubt and clarify for everyone to have

your little animals together, because there is no more wonderful thing in the world than having them close to you.

Say bye! Good winds! Good winds!

My little italian, little italian...

Turn on the fan

in today's video we will see how to turn on or off the appliances of our house using google assistant turn off the light

To make this tutorial we must buy a small device that costs approximately five euros sold in many internet stores

and I will leave a purchase link and about this device as a video on how to connect them in various devices of the house

I will briefly review the initial configuration is very easy download the application will link

We register from the register button

I have already done all the steps of the record in the previous video and I'm just going to log in

selecting my country and entering the account with the email and the password that I have already configured

click on the plus symbol to add the remote switch and press the button that has up for 5 seconds

this makes the green light for faster pa

click on next and if it does not appear in our Wi-Fi network click on next twice

and we allow the application to access our location

and now we enter the access password

click on next and wait for the switch to connect to our network when you connect the green light must remain fixed

now we will change the name or we will leave the one that had the same as you want, I will name it

and well we would have the initial configuration

and we can add a shortcut or even turn on from the device's own button

Ok now let's configure the commands so that the application

edwin link that we just set

obey the orders of our

assistant google is to say that we talk to the phone and understand or turn off the appliances of the house

we are going to install the application and efe

abbreviating or jeff etc this application the first thing we are going to do is log in with our google account

that must be the same one that we use in the google assistant

now we do a search and we look for hui ling

We click on services and within the options should look like

in green status the word active

if it does not appear active click on edit connection and put the same account that we have in wheeling with the same data

Well once this is done we can now start to configure the spoken commands

so we click on the plus symbol and we are going to create the first order so we look for the google assistant

we click on a simple phrase

and we put what we want for example turn on the light

Here below it asks us what we want us to put the assistant

we can put I do not know about perfect now I turn it on here we can really put what we want

and here we really have a world of possibilities to trick people and thus change the answers of the google assistant

what is your favorite youtube channel

But I do not miss any

Super important is to put the Spanish language and now we keep this order

Click on the symbol that is below and look for the application in wheeling

and click on the bottom option and as we see, the switch has recognized me

that he named home and we are simply going to choose the action that we want when we dedicate it turns on the light

it's going to be like it could not be otherwise put the switch on homs

click on create the action and then finish and we would have the option to turn finished

Now we would repeat the same steps to turn off the switch

but this time creating a new order with another different phrase in line with what we are going to do

and with a different answer phrase

and and we created the shutdown option within the switch options

or what google turns on the light

What google turns off the light

Now if you want you can uninstall the two applications that we just configured, you can even use another phone that has the same gmail account

then the on-off command is stored in the app cloud and ft

turn on the light

Therefore, having an internet connection is essential, it will always work with the google assistant

Oskar Schlemmer Google Doodle - Duration: 1:04.

The search engine Google is showing this animated Doodle in many countries for celebrating Oskar

Schlemmer's 130th Birthday.

Oskar Schlemmer was a German painter, sculptor, designer and choreographer associated with

the Bauhaus school.

In 1923 he was hired as Master of Form at the Bauhaus theatre workshop, after working

some time at the workshop of sculpture.

His most famous work is "Triadisches Ballett," in which the actors are transfigured from

the normal to geometrical shapes.

With three dancers, 12 movements, and 18 costumes, Schlemmer's innovative approach to ballet

broke with all convention to explore the relationship between body and space in new and exciting

ways.

He described the performance as "'artistic metaphysical mathematics," and a "party

in form and colour."

Labor Day 2018 (U.S) Google Doodle - Duration: 1:26.

The Search Engine Google is showing this Doodle in United Stated for the Labor Day 2018.

Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in

September.

It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to

the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the country.

It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend and it is considered

the unofficial end of summer in the United States.

The holiday is also a federal holiday.

Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labor movements grew, trade

unionists proposed that a day be set aside to celebrate labor.

"Labor Day" was promoted by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor, which organized

the first parade in New York City.

In 1887, Oregon was the first state of the United States to make it an official public

holiday.

By the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894, thirty U.S. states officially

celebrated Labor Day

Today's Google Doodle honors all hard-working people—whether they be doctors, cooks, plumbers,

construction workers, or of any other profession.

Oskar Schlemmer Google Doodle - Duration: 2:06.

Today The Search Engine Google is showing a Doodle for Oskar Schlemmer.

Today in a few countries Google celebrate Oskar Schlemmer's 130th Birthday.

Oskar Schlemmer was born on 4th September 1888.

He was a German painter, sculptor, designer and choreographer associated with the Bauhaus

school.

In 1923 he was hired as Master of Form at the Bauhaus theatre workshop, after working

some time at the workshop of sculpture.

His most famous work is "Triadisches Ballett," in which the actors are transfigured from

the normal to geometrical shapes.

Also in Slat Dance and Treppenwitz, the performers' costumes make them into living sculpture,

as if part of the scenery.

Bulbous mechanical creatures wearing metallic masks are not the usual image that comes to

mind when one thinks of ballet.

But that's precisely what Oskar Schlemmer used to stage his 'Triadic Ballet,' a

groundbreaking production that premiered in Stuttgart, Germany in 1922.

With three dancers, 12 movements, and 18 costumes, Schlemmer's innovative approach to ballet

broke with all convention to explore the relationship between body and space in new and exciting

ways.

He described the performance as "'artistic metaphysical mathematics," and a "party

in form and colour."

He was born on this day in 1888, Schlemmer was the youngest of six children who attended

art school before traveling to in Weimar, Germany to join Walter Gropius's avant-garde

Bauhaus, where he became director of stage research and production.

Schlemmer also experimented with painting, sculpture, but it was his creative theater

designs that are most remembered, influencing future artists like David Bowie.

He once described the themes of his work: "the human figure in space, its moving and

stationary functions, sitting, lying, walking, standing" as being "as simple as they

are universally valid."

He died on 13th April 1943.

Will a Brand New Website Get Traffic From Google - Duration: 2:01.

- Is Google a good source of traffic

for a brand new website?

Unh, no not really, unfortunately.

For new sites, Google will generally

list pages pretty quickly

so if you type in the name of your website

and the title of your product,

your blog post, you'll come up,

I mean, your page is there,

but that's not what you really need, right?

You really need your link to appear

in at least the top 10 for search results,

and really, in the top three,

if you want to get those significant traffic numbers.

So, if you've a brand new site, what can you do?

First, plan to rely more heavily

on other traffic sources in the beginning,

rather than search results.

This should be things like social media ads,

paid Google advertising, networking, those sorts of things.

But, for Google and other search engines,

you definitely want them to be

sources of traffic eventually, right?

So, you have some options.

One option is to just give it time.

Assuming your site is cleanly built and a good source

of information for your customers,

over time other sites will link to it,

people will search for it.

Those activities will tell Google

that you site is valuable, and will help your rankings.

Another option is to be more aggressive.

Actively set up content pages to target search terms.

Encourage other sites to link to you.

I'm not saying swap or buy links.

Don't do that.

Google doesn't look kindly on those practices.

Instead, be helpful to other site owners.

If you have a great article on teaching little kids to code,

find blogs and other site owners

who'd be interested in that article,

and send them the link to check out.

If it's relevant to what they do,

they may add it to their site.

The goal here is to help Google understand

that your site is valuable

more quickly than might happen on its own.

So, in the beginning,

don't count on Google to send you a bunch of traffic.

You're gonna have to put

a little bit more effort in than that.

Assume you'll get little or no traffic from Google

and actively improve your other marketing areas,

so you can line up other traffic sources and be successful.
