Beating Casino presents: How to Count Cards without Being Detected
blackjack players know that casinos frown on counting cards and will ask those players
to stay away from their blackjack games if they suspect those players are too skilled.
Sometimes, they'll even ask the players to leave their casino and never return.
Counting cards is not that hard at all and anyone can master this skill with enough practice.
Yet, the casinos will look for those counters using their surveillance systems, including
the eye in the sky, which is the camera located above the blackjack tables.
So, how can you still count cards in blackjack without being caught?
In this video, we will share with you some tips and tricks on counting cards without
getting caught, but the irony is, that if you're too good at counting cards, you'll
eventually get caught.
So, let's begin Get Really Good at Counting Cards
The eye in the sky isn't going to spot you moving your lips while you're counting cards.
It's also not going to see how furrowed your brow gets when you're concentrating.
It won't even see how closely you're watching the cards as they come off the deck.
But your problem is the dealer, because he'll notice all of that and more, and if the dealer
doesn't notice it, then the pit boss might.
What you should do, is practice counting enough at home that you're able to maintain an
accurate count without doing any of the gestures we've just mentioned.
You should, in fact, look like you're completely relaxed and enjoying the game.
It's even better if you look like you're only half paying attention.
A good advice for new card counters is to practice at the kitchen table until you are
able to count through an entire deck accurately, one card at a time.
Then move up to 2 cards at a time.
Once you get really fast, turn the radio on while you're counting.
Then, turn both the radio and the television on while you're counting.
If you have kids, give them some toys to play with, the ones that make noise, and encourage
them to play on the kitchen floor while you count through a deck.
Your goal is to be able to count cards and at the same time maintain a relaxed, calm
exterior.
The only way to count cards without looking like you're counting cards is to practice
and over-practice until it really is effortless.
Change Where and When You Play In his book, Sklansky Talks Blackjack, David
Sklansky suggests limiting your play at any given casino to a 45 minutes to one-hour session
at most.
But there's more to covering your tracks than that.
You should also never play at the same casino 2 days in a row.
You should preferably keep a gap of 2 days or so between your visits at a specific casino.
Most casinos are open 24 hours.
There's a day shift, a night shift, and a graveyard shift.
If you decide to go to the same casino 3 times, you should go there during each of those shifts
at least once.
This alone will go a long way toward avoiding detection because you won't be there long
enough in order to be noticed.
Watch the Sizes of Your Bet You'll find plenty of advice about how to
range your bets from 1 to 4 units or from 1 to 6 units based on the count, and that's
great, but that's also one of the easiest ways to get caught.
The dealers often know how to count cards and the pit bosses almost always know how
to count cards.
That is why they will recognize when a player raises his bet according to the count.
You should play the role of a superstitious gambler who increases the size of his bet
when he's feeling hot.
This means doubling the size of your bet after a win.
You can even double it again after a second win if the count makes it a smart move.
If the count is positive, but you just lost a hand, don't raise the size of your bet
and don't be so accurate about raising the size of your bet based on the count.
You can even mention that you want to capitalize on your hot streak.
Most card counters aren't superstitious, and the casinos know this.
Tip the dealers and waitresses Most card counters don't tip because it
interferes with their already low edge.
But, if you can remain profitable by occasionally placing a bet on behalf of the dealer, you
can look like less of a card counter.
Never just throw the dealer a tip.
Always wait until the deck is positive, then place a second bet on behalf of the dealer.
Not only will the dealer make more money if you win, but he'll also benefit from the
count being positive.
A blackjack pays off 3 to 2 on a bet you've made on his behalf, too.
You might also enjoy a cocktail or two from the cocktail waitress.
Not everyone can handle their liquor well enough to count cards while they've been
drinking, but for most people, this is a matter of practicing and over-practicing.
When you enjoy the cocktails, be sure to tip the waitress.
You can start off with a large tip for the dealer and a large tip for the waitress.
Then, scale back on future tips.
For example, you can tip a cocktail waitress with $5 the first time she brings you a drink
and then scale back to the usual dollar or two.
This will gain you a sort of camouflage for your advantage play.
Don't Sit at Third Base and Don't Wear a Cap
Casinos know that card counters are more likely to sit at third base and also that they're
more likely to wear a ballcap.
If you're sitting at third base, you get to see more cards before playing your hand.
If you're one of those card counters who adjusts his basic strategy decisions based
on the count, you'll have more information with which to make your decisions.
With a lot of players at the table, this can make a significant difference in your edge.
Also, card counters often wear ballcaps as part of their disguises, but since it's
such a common thing, it's more of a tell than anything else.
If you do want some sort of disguise, experiment by growing your beard or a mustache or by
shaving your beard or mustache.
You can also try shaving your head or letting your hair grow long.
Dyeing your hair is also an option.
If you have recognizable tattoos on your arms, wear long sleeves.
If you don't have tattoos, consider getting temporary tattoos as part of your disguise.
Also, try different color schemes with your clothes.
Dress up or dress down.
Consider wearing cowboy clothes or dressing like a biker.
You can disguise your looks in any of a hundred different ways.
Just remember not to wear a ballcap.
On the other hand, a cowboy hat is an option you can consider.
Make Some Basic Strategy Mistakes This is probably the only time not follow
basic strategy, which is more than encouraged during blackjack play.
Here are some examples to basic strategy mistakes you should do during your play:
Stand anytime you have a 16 vs a dealer 10.
Never hit a soft 18 when the dealer has a 9, 10, or ace showing.
Always take insurance.
Not only do these not cost you much in terms of expectation, but if the count is positive,
these plays actually make better sense than the standard basic strategy.
Keep in mind, though, that deviations from basic strategy that aren't related to the
count hurt your expectation.
This has two effects.
It increases your volatility, making it more likely that you'll lose money in a given
session, week, month, or season.
It reduces your return on investment.
To count cards, you need a bankroll.
If you can't see a return on investment better than you'd get through most investment
vehicles, you're better off investing your money.
Work with a Team If you've seen the movie 21, you're probably
at least superficially aware of how a blackjack team works.
You share a common bankroll, but you also share in the profits.
One way they avoid detection is to having several players sit down at several different
tables, one per table.
These players play perfect basic strategy and flat-bet the minimum at each table, but
they count cards while they're playing.
When the count is really high at one of the tables, they signal the "big player."
That player comes in during the shoe while the count is high and places a large bet or
a series of large bets.
Other blackjack teams might use spotters who watch the action from behind the table.
Since they have no money in action, they don't lose any money while they're counting.
How you signal the big player is up to you and your team, but Kevin Blackwood suggests
verbal signals rather than hand gestures.
That is because gestures are recorded.
However, with enough attention, even the most subtle gestures can eventually be detected.
In the long run, that's bad news for a card counting team.
You have several choices for how to handle the financing of such a team.
You might have one big investor who also plays as the big player, or you might have several
investors, each of whom contributes to the team's overall bankroll.
These investors might or might not actually play on the team.
It's customary when dealing with a gambling team that has an investor to split the profits
50/50 between the players and the investors.
The biggest advantage of forming a blackjack team is the ability to increase the amount
of money you can put into action.
With a positive expectation, this corresponds to an increase in the amount of winnings during
a given session or series of sessions.
When you're part of a blackjack team, you get to enjoy some of that camaraderie along
with an edge over the house, which is an intoxicating combination, for sure.
If you decide to go this route, it's important to meet with your team and write down the
expectations of the team and its members.
Someone needs to manage the team and the accounts.
The role that each member plays should be clear to everyone.
You also need to decide as a group on some of the playing decisions that face you in
the casino.
How long will sessions last?
Does the team ever tip the dealer and so on.
The best approach to managing a blackjack team is to treat it as a business.
If you have no stomach for operating a small business, a blackjack team probably isn't
the way to go.
Conclusion A major concern for every card counter in
blackjack is to avoid getting caught.
If you get barred from enough casinos, you can't make any money from blackjack.
Like mentioning earlier, tipping is one way to camouflage your advantage play, but tipping
also subtracts from your expected value.
Making basic strategy mistakes on purpose is another way to provide cover, but that
has a cost also.
So, perhaps the best way to avoid being detected as a card counter is to adopt a simple hit-and-run
strategy where you just don't play blackjack at any one table at any one casino long enough
to be detected.
Playing for 45 minutes at a single casino 3 times a week is a great strategy and plan
in order to avoid being detected as a card counter.

been on 4 Atlantis cruises myself and
I've been able to meet so many people
all around the world and we continue to

makes Atlantis even more special to me
was that I was proposed to on the cruise
this last January. My fiance Darren
planned a group photo with everyone and
all I knew was that there was gonna be a
group photo so I showed up to it with
all my friends there and then all of a
sudden at the end of it he proposed and
of course with a fan and as you can see
in this video I was speechless and just
so surprised and it was one of the
happiest moments of my life what a great
way to start the cruise off okay enough
of that let's get back to the topic at
hand
what to pack for our cruise of course
there's the essential clothing items
that you're gonna need to pack and if
you stay to the end of this video I'm
gonna give you a link to download a
checklist of all those items but right
now I'm gonna give you some special
items to pack that it's gonna help you
have a really great time on the cruise
ok the first thing I'm going to talk
about our door decorations you may be
asking what the heck is that
well your doors are actually a really
great way for your neighbors to get to
know you so you decorate your doors by
putting up pictures of yourself or
anything else that's gonna make people
remember who you
and you don't have to be modest with
these pictures but definitely no nudes
okay there are people that work on the
cruise that don't need to see you naked
now the best way to put those photos on
the door themselves are the little
stickies they're little sticky squares
you put on the back of your photos and
then they stick right on to the door you
want to use something that's adhesive
that's not gonna damage the door so this
is a perfect thing to use and another
thing you may want to put on your door
or the wall next to it is a dry erase
wall sticker it's basically a whiteboard
but it's on a decal so you can roll it
up and pack it easily but pack some dry
erase markers with it as well and you
can put messages on the dry erase wall
or you can invite people to write
messages on your wall again it's a great
way for you to introduce yourselves and
for people to get to know you and other
suggestions are just to put some letters
on the wall to spell out your name or
some lights or anything that's flashy
because that's gonna be a great way for
you to remember where your room is some
cruise ships have eight nine ten decks
of cabins and the cabin hallways are so
long that they all look the same so a
way for you to remember where your room
is is just to make it as flashy and
bright as possible all right
I don't number two our cruise cards okay
now you're wondering what the heck our
cruise cards well cruise cards are small
business cards for you to print your
picture on and some info on it so that
you can pass them out when you're at
parties or when you're just out and
about on the ship though some of my
cards look like this or actually really
many mini cards which is great because
it doesn't take up that much room but
then you can have multiple designs or
different pictures on them and on the
back just as our name and one cabin
number or any contact info like Facebook
or Instagram that you may want other
people to know about once they get off
the cruise this is a really great idea
because there's no cell reception on the
cruise so you want people to be able to
get in contact with you after the cruise
so you just hand them one of these
whenever you've connected I use muqaam
to print my cruise cards but if you look
in the description below you're gonna
find a link with a discount for your
next purchase item number three
resistance bands you want to look good
during
Kruse but i know for a fact that
everyone else is gonna want to look good
also so that gym is packed every single
day at all times but it doesn't mean
that you can't do a workout somewhere
else and the best way is to just do it
in your room with resistance bands these
are such a great way to get a nice pump
for your arms or your shoulders or your
chest they're easy to pack and there's
multiple levels of resistance bands on
one string so your new some shoulder
exercises some bicep curls so just do a
few of these before you go out to the
pool or before you go out to the parties
and you're set
alright item number four is a handy
dandy first-aid kit so on this last
cruise we had an injury that required us
to go down to the Med Bay a couple times
so if you have minor injuries you may
not want to go down to the Med Bay and
just take care of yourself with a
first-aid kit also the hours of
operation for the Med Bay are really
short so even if you have time to go
down there
it may not be open plus if you are down
there you're gonna be around people that
are sick when I was down there there
were so many people with symptoms of
norovirus and you definitely don't want
that while you're on the cruise so stay
away from the Med Bay use your own
first-aid kit
item number five is a fanny pack with
water bottle holder if you've watched
any of my other videos on raves
this is what I preach so the fanny pack
itself can hold all your stuff like your
gum your mints your cruise cards and
then the water bottle holder is great so
that when you're out dancing in the
parties you don't have to hold on to
your water ball the entire time I got
this for cheap on Amazon and I'm gonna
have a link with all these items in the
description below I actually have a page
on my website that lists all of these
items out so it's easy for you to see
and you can just click on each one and

the last item on your list is number six
a small bag to hold all of your stuff
for the first day of your cruise if
you're going on a seven-day cruise
you're gonna have a lot of items packed
in your luggage but your check luggage
is actually not gonna get to your room
until much later at night so you're
gonna want a small duffel bag that holds
all of your stuff like your swim shorts
your tank tops or anything that you want
to change into for the first day of your
cruise so this is the bag that Atlantis
gives you on the cruise but it's perfect
for those first day items
so you can put your toiletries your
sandals your swimwear your shorts your
tank tops anything you're gonna need for
your first day okay I hope this list is
gonna help you pack for your next

researchers found that vaginal dryness
was closely linked to women who used
super absorbent tampons according to a
study published in the European Journal
of obstetrics gynecology and
reproductive biology
that dryness can create deers or cracks
in your vaginal walls which increase
your risk of infection she says for you

Dweck says seven you don't change your
tampon after you pee on it from a
medical perspective you don't have to
change your tampon every single time you
relieve yourself dr. Dweck says from a
practical point of view who wants a
soaking wet string hanging out down
there eight you don't change your tampon
after you poop if that string picks up
any bacteria it easily could infect the
urethra dr. Dweck says another thing
moving your bowels can sometimes
dislodge a tampon which could make
leaving it in uncomfortable 9 you forget
to take it out yes this happens IRL if
you develop a horrible odor that can't
otherwise be explained
use a clean finger to feel around for a
tampon if for some reason you can't pull
it out see a doctor
as dr. Dweck 10 you don't change your
tampon after swimming when you take a
dip so does your tampon a string that's
laced with chlorine salt water or lake
water can cause skin irritation if you
don't change it quickly dr. Dweck says
the good news is that normal bacteria
found in a body of water or even a hot
tub likely won't cause an infection
she says 11 you use tampons with torn
wrappers tampon wrappers are designed to
keep out dust dirt and makeup fits that
live at the bottom of your bag or
anywhere else you store them when that
wrapping rips the cotton could pick up
little debris that doesn't belong in
your vagina dr. Dweck says 12 you flush
the applicator unless there's a super
hot plumber you've been dying to call
keep the applicator out of the toilet 13

they've expired as long as the packaging

Inside Corona Sun settings - activate the sky and assign the usual Displace modifier on the plane .
Since it's easiest to get the desired result with it from the same World Creator, etc.
In the plane settings - set 10 segments in both directions.
and Render Density = 3 for the beginning
For Displace - choose a standard Noise map...
Turn on a Corona Interactive to immediately see the result.
and a little more experiment with a Density value.
I think 10 - it will be quite enough for this tutorial.
You probably noticed that when you turn on Corona Interactive - the grid density in Viewport
has changed since the Density parameter works only during rendering.
For example, if you set the value to 20 - we will see how it became even denser.
But if you turn off the interactive ...
Density will return to the original value without rendering.
This is very convenient for optimizing you work.
Let's adjust the displacement map a little.
Noise Type = Turbulence.
The size is bigger and customize the rest of the parameters at your discretion.
Now go to the most interesting - Creation of Corona Layered Mtl with Multi-Displacement.
Which will work perfectly with the Displace modifier assigned to the plane.
So, create CoronaLayeredMtl.
Then, three conventional materials CoronaMtl, which connect with it.
The first layer will be responsible for multi-displacement,
so its color isn't changed, but for the next two - set such shades.
I always raise higher the first layer, - so that it doesn't distract and it was convenient to work with it.
Let's enable Interactive and assign this material.
As you can see - the object have only one color.
I suggest don't mixing through the map that is located
in the Displace modifier, we will use the Falloff map.
Because if you use the same map with Displace - we will get an unsatisfactory result.
Let's assign this map, to make sure of this.
Assign it to the mask2 slot - and see, that there is still no mixing.
Thanks to the map of FallOff - we can make a mixing in height and get the result what we need.
A little later - I will also show an example with a Checker map and why it isn't worth making a mix with
the same map which we use in the Displace modifier.
And now - let's create a FallOff map ...
Load it into the Mask2 slot and change some of its settings.
To mix by height - you should change the fallof type - to a "distance blend"
and the axis which named falloff direction change to a Local Z Axis
On the render - you will see how the colors mixed properly.
Change their places and adjust the Distance.
Move a little closer to the object to see better the result of mixing.
I specifically picked up a green color slightly higher to show the difference between the noise maps,
which we will use for MultiDisplacement.
Now on the area with green color - you should assign a small displacement,
and on the area with the brown one - the larger one.
And, with all these machinations - we should not
to lose the main displacement in the Displace modifier.
In the Slate Editor - climb higher to our material for the future MultiDisplacement,
And create the 1st CoronaMix ...
With Add mode.
Then copy this node twice with Shift.
Add the received nodes to the main one, and to mix them we use the same Falloff map.
Next, create two Noise maps and add them to the Top of each CoronaMix.
And now let's learn how to manage the height of extrusion of each layer.
For example, I want to extrude the green layer by 4cm.
In the material settings - set Max Displacement is equal to this value.
But this is not enough to get the desired result.
First - we need to configure the size of each Noise
and in the Bottom-layer of each of CoronaMix nodes - add a Color map for controlling the Displacement height.
So, in the second Color map set Advanced Output Multiplier = 0
Next, adjust the size of each of the noise maps.
For the first, Size = 10cm, and for the second - 0.5cm.
Just want to say that if your Displacement Mix doesn't work -
You should set a Mix mode in the main CoronaMix, instead of Add.
In most cases - this mode works better, but sometimes Add also copes with this task.
As you can see, in this case - Mix mode gives a more correct result.
In the green area - a small value of Noise.
In brown - large.
Then, simply by changing the settings of both Color node - you can change the extrusion force.
So - we have learned a multi-displacement mix creation.
The use of which is very important.
For example, if you use the Displace modifier and the Height map from World Creator.
How I did it - in one of making of on the channel.
And in the material itself - want to mix several Displacement maps from Megascans or Poliigon textures.
And, on each layer - get your version of extrusion.
The only difference is that if you use a map from World Creator -
Then it will need to be mixed with the main Falloff.
But I will show this in other lessons.
I also want to express the gratitude to the Corona Renderer Support.

By the way, the peculiarity of this method is that during the change of Far Distance to Falloff map -
you can mix a layer with the same grass and get a more realistic transition from
from grass to mountains or other objects.
At the same time - the all displacement settings for each layer are saved and everything works as it should.
Also, as promised - I will show one more example with a checker, so you understand why I
use the Falloff map, but not the main one map from the Displace modifier.
So, in the example with Checker - I will delete the Displace modifier and show the usage variant
of Multi-displacement without it.
Also in the plane itself - remove Density, because in this case - it is not necessary.
And Tile for Checker = 2 * 2
So, if you use the same Checker map instead of Falloff for mixing materials -
That you will receive is such a result.
Even if you try to remove the Blur Offset - you will get Displacement with incomprehensible bugs.
So, to make a more correct mixing of the material in this kind of displacement -
it's better to use Falloff too.
Assign it instead of Checker and get the desired result.
