I had an unusual request slide into my insta teams I'm going to be making an
insta party you want an Instagram pod like a podcast no you dumb child and
there's a group that will have where we each promise to like and comment on each
other's photos to cheat the Instagram algorithm I mean like it sounds like a
lot of work I'm kind of lazy I mean how would I go through this trouble getting
real likes would I have no problem getting a fake likes are you in or not I
mean I am bored then it's settled you're in but don't make a youtube video
about this but welcome to my youtube video about this
so this week I am going to a hundred percent commit to this instapoll and see
does this really help me short-term and long-term
so apparently finding that insta pot is really hard
they're super exclusive now if you guys want to get an insta pot I can't help
you they came to me because I'm so popular now different in stupids are
gonna have different rules mine has three main ones first off you gotta like
the photo second off you gotta leave a comment and it has to be two or more
words and thirdly you're given a time frame from when you get to post so if
you post outside of this time window the members of the group have no liability
to like your photo not gonna lie that third rule it makes sense to the members
but in general this was to build engagement
why wouldn't I post when my audience is around on Instagram so this morning I
got added to this admin group and I will tell you that I am so annoyed already
like I know I tell you guys to turn on post notifications for me and you
definitely should but just don't do that for other people or else you'll get so
annoyed
already people have been commenting on each other's posts including mine so
it's time for me to give back to this community okay here's a nice black and
white photo I don't know this girl it's a simple photo I don't know what to say
let me just wing it
you look so majestic on that stair case and then I'll add a black heart because
it's a black-and-white photo this girl feels like she's enjoying the weather
hashtag love hashtag happiness let me think about this one hmm you look so
sexy in that dress as the wind blows through your hair and then I'll put some
flame emojis I am just giving them the compliments that they want to hear I
mean like if you saw that comment on a photo wouldn't you linger on it just a
little bit longer the next day so what I really want to do right now is do some
of my workout video but I hit a Dylan I knew what I was getting into and that I
committed to liking everybody's post I guess you know no matter who it was what
it was I didn't really know who was going to be in this group this post okay
I'm gonna pull it up so I can look at it I remember the first time before ever I
was in this group seeing this post and I thought to myself
wow what a pompous asshole and I know I'm not alone in thinking this so I was
thinking I can't find it in me to like this photo
obviously nobody in the meantime to set aside this guy to tell him that
it looks like he's being a pompous asshole so he post this as a throwback
Thursday I feel like I don't need to explain why this post is so embarrassing
for him to post but also for me to like because it's just it's written in the
picture and the caption like my personal friends are gonna judge me for
interacting with this post and I hope the rest of the world judges me for
interacting with this post so I don't know what to do do I just not like it
and hope that he doesn't see it should I like send him a DM to explain why I
can't like this post you know what I spent all this time rambling when I
could have light to the picture left a comment and moved on with my life you
know what I'm just not gonna like this picture and pretend I didn't see it so
there we go there's my update god this is like torture going on to day 3 I'm
just holding you guys in the palm of my hand and I'm distracted because I don't
like how my hair looks but I wanted to come in with another check-in because
every day I complained and this has been a really great thing for me to complain
about something but it's been really hard
liking people's posts one girl sells this um beauty product and I'm familiar
with it and I know it's you know it's actually something that my mom once sold
and from what I remember it is good stuff however now I'm having to like
something and endorse it don't free endorsements another thing I'm noticing
is people within this group I think they feel pressure to post because a lot of
these posts it seems like it's more quantity over quality where like you
know like pictures of nothing you know odd captions that are just trying so
hard to get engagement which of course they know they're gonna get to they're
gonna get it because we're all in this group together and then like hundreds of
hash it's just it just looks so spammy and
it's really unfortunate because I you know like I don't know how to educate
them that's what it looks like and I think they need to value themselves
better this is just for everyone think to yourself is this something that you
would scroll pass on your Instagram feed are you just assuming everybody's
obsessed with you and they're gonna enjoy your random crap you're posting
also I'm not liking the reward I'm getting back of my comments because okay
first off one guy told me to smile in a picture are you kidding me
that just aggravated the crud out of me because I take a lot of time to comment
on his pictures and not be sexist are the worst things that people women have
brought up in pictures or everyday on the street I do not live to smile for a
man also I'm just saying the rule said that the caption has to be two or more
words without exposing anyone I'm going to read to you some of the suckiest
comments that I got let me get to my page I talked about like workout clothes
for the heat and one person put it's definitely hot outside get fit anyone
who knows me knows that I am obsessed with Kohl's and I post Cole Hall videos
so it's really weird when all these guys show so much interest in this video and
they say things like Kohl's with the deals that place has some secrets sick
deals like come on that's like the same comment from two different people twice
like so now that I have committed to this I'm going to research to find out
if this was even a good idea okay wait let me find my laptop I remember reading
about Instagram pods months ago so the fact that this has been exposed makes me
think Instagram has caught on with these public articles and they made the
algorithm tad bit smarter but maybe not
it doesn't work here's the thing why people are probably still believing that
this works I'm shutting my computer right now to act all serious basically
what this is is a confidence boost yeah you see engagement go up when you are
participating and that's because you have those additional likes and comments
however you are not tricking the algorithm instead what you are doing is
you are reconfiguring people's personal algorithm so with me liking all the
people in my group and commenting on them
Instagram thinks this particular individual wants to constantly see these
people because I think they're hip and cool and we are friends other people
have posted their personal studies to show that when they did exit the group
things went back to normal now I can't tell you that Instagram is
spying on you but it is aware that these groups have been made and so it has an
its algorithm to track certain keywords that if you have this collective group
and you guys are spinning out all these keywords and sharing each other's photos
then it can pick up on it and do you rank you in this algorithm yep my group
is in the Instagram DMS we did not move it to another platform but um you know I
like the D ranking it builds character now I bring you the real tips at work so
I am officially out of the insta pod my Instagram statistics are doing fine I
did do an investment with the new iPhone 10 and I feel a lot more confident
because I'm posting higher quality photos but I figured I can't really wrap
up this video with having it just me complain and then just be like well
there you go there's my experience I figured I feel like I did pull some
additional information that I didn't think about and I wanted to share with
you guys Palestine first off if you've ever seen my older posts you will
understand that I get it I know what it feels like to have
this pressure to upload every day you want to stay relevant you want to beat
the algorithm you know nobody understands the algorithm but it is not
worth it because when you're having a boring day and you're trying to document
that it just comes off that you and your life are boring so when you got that
boredom release it to snapchat maybe your Instagram story but don't make it
an official post and also keep the desperation down where you're limiting
hashtags because I know people talk about personal brand and then they start
feeling like a marketer and they relate that to companies and their brands but I
think that word as soon as you become this brand you're starting to think like
you're a business and I get it but you're on social media to relate so
don't post like a marketer you need to pose like the popular girl in high
school that people love to hate you want to be relatable you don't want to be
desperate and you want to mix it up and have variety because you are the leader
the leader in trends stepping outside the box so maybe you'll have no caption
or maybe you will end up having you know something that's trending right now and
then maybe something you'll have a personal post because I feel like if you
look too much like a magazine people can't identify with you you're too
perfect you're kind of boring now if you're doing like a whole long diary
entry you're really confidently posting that anyone who follows you must be your
biggest fan it's all about the blend so I say put a lot of effort into it but be
appreciative of the homemade touch this is how you're going to really in the
long run build an audience and make them connect to you play engagement and the
community is so important but it's so easily forgotten about whether it's
because of your busy schedule or maybe you're just your low more egotistical
and you think but I really think when you share the love to your community
you're gonna get it back now the first level
you can go to really outreach there is to leave some love on a picture you know
drop in those hearts let a girl know she looks hot and that really builds a
one-on-one connection with that Instagrammer however you can take it up
a notch and have you ever thought whether you
know maybe it was someone who is in your inner circle or maybe it is a celebrity
you taking the time to troll okay I can't just say you know just
trial but honestly being witty being weird as long as you're not offensive it
is the best way to grab the attention in the comment section where maybe that
Instagrammer or anyone reviewing that comment section is going to check you
out and every time they're looking at your
profile the percentages go up that they will become a follower okay so those are
my two most important things when it comes to Instagram but if you guys want
