What If? (Original Song) - Duration: 2:43.

Every time some new thing comes, I score a little low.

I guess arts are more my thing, even if I'm singing solo.

Question, answer, add a verse. A harmony above, below.

Does my melody answer itself, or

Is it something that must go?

But still, I have to wonder...

What if yesterday comes back to haunt me?

Or these options stay to daunt me?

What if decisions I make

Will follow me with no turning back?

What if the road less taken

Takes far too much breaking in?

What if that road ends on a cliff?

Oh god, I'll ask myself what if?

I realize there's more to life than I could ever see.

Larger than the walls we learn in,

Heavier than the books we carry.

There's a little part of me saying you'd better choose fast.

'Cause no matter the branch you take,

The present will not last.

But still, I have to wonder...

What if yesterday comes back to haunt me?

Or these options stay to daunt me?

What if decisions I make

Follow me with no turning back?

And if the road less taken

Takes far too much breaking in?

What if that road ends on a cliff?

Oh god, I'll ask myself what if?

This life is frightening.

The walls are tightening.

The stakes are heightening.

But still, tomorrow becomes today.

If yesterday comes back to haunt me,

The future is waiting to daunt me.

Either way I've gotta make

Decisions that won't let me turn back!

Even if yesterday comes back to haunt me,

Decisions should not daunt me!

Why should I be so afraid

Of pushing on with no turning back?

And if the road less taken

Takes a little breaking in,

I'll move on, sit on the cliff.

I've gotta stop asking myself, "What if?"

What to Do If You Don't Feel Motivated - Duration: 2:18.

I want to talk to you today about what you need to do when you don't feel motivated.

You know, one of those days you wake up, you go,

"I'm just going to lay here in bed. I don't feel like doing anything."

"I just don't feel like I want to be effective today."

I'm telling you, it's those days that separate people who accomplish things

from people who don't.

When you wake up in the morning, the birds are chirping, you feel great, you feel like taking on the world...

Those are the days you know anyone can go get after it.

But when it's raining and you don't feel good,

those are the days that you have to find the energy to attack the day.

That separates you from the other people.

Look, I hate to say it, but winning and succeeding is competitive.

Life is competitive.

Everybody doesn't get a trophy.

That's not how it works.

And it's your ability to get up and get moving.

I tell people all the time, I believe one of the greatest success traits you can have

is to get your tail out of bed early and get moving.

If it's just to get up and read and get your mind right for the day.

So you've got to get up early, show up early.

I always believed in Vince Lombardi time.

On time is 15 minutes early for an appointment.

Get there, get after it, attack the day, make things happen.

Most people wait for things to happen. Winners make things happen.

This is John Addison, leadership editor of SUCCESS magazine,

with Real Talk for your day.

What Is Epistemology And Why Should You Care? - PROetCONTRA part 1 - Duration: 9:24.

We live in a time

Where information is more easily and freely available than any time before?

It is just that there is so much of this information

That there is a danger of information overload

Where the amount of information exceeds our cognitive processing capacity?

All decision makers including you have a limited cognitive processing capacity

consequently when information overload occurs

There is a great difficulty understanding

anxious

This difficulty of understanding is not based on the lack of information

But based on the sole fact that there is too much information on that issue

Despite this fact other educational institutions are still focusing mostly on

memorization and

regulation of information, but access to too much information

It doesn't help people develop the desired and needed skills unless they also learn something much more important

how to discriminate good sources of information

from bad sources

Pro-X Contra

So let me get this straight

basically you are saying that this place is called the

akashic archives and

That I was sent here by Lord Gaben to solve some kind of a problem. You are having here

That is correct

Okay, let's start at the beginning

Please explain to me. What exactly is the akashic archives

The patient records or sometimes called the akashic archives

exists Solely on the metaphysical plane

We are not material

In other words. They are made of the same substance our thoughts and emotions are made of just

Like you have physics in the material world. So you have metaphysics in the higher planes of existence

Wait, so basically you are saying that

Everything around me including you

That is made from the same substance that thoughts and emotions are made up in a way

Yes in other words

This is the place where all the thoughts all the emotions and all the knowledge is stored

in fact

Every thought anyone ever had is in some way reflected in the akashic archives

The static Fluid also my thoughts and my emotions

any ones and everyone's

So yes including yours?

So every thought I ever had has in some way or other

influenced this place here to understand this correctly

definitely

Okay, I think I understand now

but what I still don't understand is why am I here what kind of problem could I possibly help you solve the

problem of epistemological pluralism

See that again

epistemological

pluralism

You can repeat that as many times as you like, but I still don't know what you are talking about

It basically means that each and every one of us would love here and takes care of the akashic records

Has a different epistemology

What is the dista Mala Ji exactly and why is it a problem to have a different epistemology than somebody else?

it basically means that each of us sees the world quite differently and

Because we see in the world so differently

We are unable to form any consensus

we we don't agree with each other just about anything I see so

Wait a second you are saying that your big problem that I'm supposed to solve is basically

You not agreeing with each other about the world you live in

Something like that. Yes

Why would that be a problem exactly?

Well for one thing they are miserable

ever since Lord Kelvin decided to Punish power Envy towards the PC Master-Race and

Made us like the Master Race themselves made us like you

We have stopped seeing the world as one

because of this

We have started

Not agreeing with each other on just about anything

Imagine you are unable to find one person in your life who would basically understand you and agree with you

What just about anything?

What's even worse?

The state of the akashic records is a reflection of the world you live in

there is strife and disagreement in the akashic records only because there is strife and

disagreements in the Material World

all the strife all the wars of the suffering all of it is caused by

Do everything we are bothered

If we still have article pluralism

wait, wait wait wait wait wait

So basically if I understand now correctly you are saying that by solving your problem, I?

Will in some way also affect the world. I live in I

Already told you the akashic records is a reflection of the metaphysical plane of your world

If you would be somehow able to unite us

And be able to end all the strife and the bickering that is going on here

I have no doubts, but also in your world all the strife and the bickering would end

There is quite a burden for one man. I

Mean how do you expect me to solve a problem like that?

furthermore

isn't a diversity of

individual views also a

foundation for each of one's individuality I

Mean each and every one of you sees the world a bit differently because you are different people with different experiences

So it's part of your intrinsic individuality

Why would you want me to change that?

Wouldn't it be easier for you to somehow accept each other's differences and learn to live at each other?

Huh, you are quite an optimist aren't you?

This is not a question about somebody liking the different brand of cereal than you

The best analogy is a study of truth in a search cannot be a matter of taste or personal preference

What this problem entitles is basically that each and every one of us has a different understanding of truth?

so if the way I see the world is true, then why should I be tolerant of untruth and

If way I see the world is not truth that isn't it duty of well-intended people

Of people who perhaps call themselves my friends her family

Isn't it their duty to rectify my wrong understanding of things?

So that I may know, what is truth, and what is untruth?

What is real and what is a lie?

and illusion

Everything you do

everything you think

Every thought you ever made about the world

Was based on some kind of understanding of the world you live in

Understanding of the reality is a compass for our actions in other words

How we see the world of defines, how we act in the world?

So if our understanding of the world is wrong

Then all of our life decisions based on that rock understanding a rung as well

I'm

Sure you have some

experience of making wrong decisions in your life

Usually we try to avoid making wrong decisions

Because the result of making them is bad for us

If our epistemological compass is wrong

The number actions are wrong as well and as a result we suffer

What is the Relationship Between Stress and Diabetes - Duration: 2:50.

What is the Relationship Between Stress and Diabetes?

It is generally accepted that stress is bad for a person both mentally and physically.

This is true when it comes to a range of conditions, including diabetes.

When a person is under stress, hormones in his body trigger a rise in blood sugar.

This is the body's way of preparing itself for extra exertion caused by stress.

Unfortunately, a diabetic's body cannot control the sugar rise as well as it should,

and stress may contribute to blood sugar levels that are high enough to become dangerous.

The relationship between stress and diabetes is due, in part, to the effect of stress on

hormones in the patient's body.

When a person is under stress, hormones called cortisol and epinephrine act on the body to

increase energy.

They do this by raising blood sugar levels temporarily.

This rise in blood sugar can affect anyone who is under stress, however, not just people

who have been diagnosed with diabetes.

The relationship between stress and diabetes can be a dangerous one.

While stress can cause anyone's blood sugar to rise, it can be worse in diabetics, as

their bodies are not able to effectively counteract the rise in blood sugar.

Unfortunately, stress levels can rise because of a wide variety of factors, many of which

may be out of the patient's control.

For example, a person may experience emotional and physical stress in response to overexertion

and illness.

While the relationship between short-term stress and diabetes can cause temporary blood

sugar increases, long-term stresses may expose a person to on-going problems with diabetes.

For example, if a person is suffering from depression, his stress levels may remain consistently

high.

As a result, the patient may have a more difficult time managing his blood sugar.

Additionally, stress can lead to other health problems, which may cause additional stress

for the patient and contribute even more to blood sugar elevation.

Some of the relationship between stress and diabetes is beyond a diabetic's control,

but there are some ways that stress may interfere with things the patient can control.

For example, a person who is dealing with depression may feel less motivated to be careful

with his diet.

He may eat things that are bad for him in an effort to feel relief from stress and depression.

He may even stop exercising, which can be detrimental for controlling diabetes, because

he feels less motivated or disinterested in the things he used to consider important.

Game Dynamics: What Makes a Good Game? - Duration: 6:50.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Game mechanics or game dynamics are what make good games work.

Game dynamics give players a reason to keep playing.

Educators can build game dynamics

into their classes to make them more engaging and motivating

for their students.

In this video, we'll introduce some popular game dynamics

by showing you how they work in games

and how they might work in a classroom.

One popular game dynamic is the appointment dynamic--

known as, be here now and get a prize.

Movie theaters often offer a bargain matinee.

This gives you a reward for showing up at a certain time

to see a movie at half price.

Games, like Farmville and Animal Crossing,

also give players bonuses for showing up at a day or a time.

In the classroom, you can use the appointment dynamic

by making classroom activities an event,

such as writing hour or project time.

One way to use the appointment dynamic in school

is to create a viewing party, where students watch a Ted Talk

or other lecture together even if they are

online in different locations.

We use a real time chat tool, such as Skype

instant messaging, to have a back channel

chat that can be saved.

This allows students to ask questions and discuss topics

in a time stamped transcript and can later be reviewed along

with the video.

It's also helpful for students who don't make it to the event.

Another game dynamic is the flexibility dynamic.

This means providing multiple paths to success.

Many popular games allow you to win in different ways.

You might race to the end and be the first to finish,

or you might be the one who picks up all the stuff.

The scoring systems are weighted to reward

either style of game play.

What does this look like in school?

Consider Harvard's universal design

for learning framework, which calls for flexibility

and representation.

How you provide information to students-- flexibility

in expression, giving students choice

in how they express their learning and flexibility

in engagement, which means switching up

the types of activities to engage

different types of students.

Another way to embed the flexibility dynamic

in your class is to provide lots of learning resources

to your kids and allow them to choose a path toward mastery

that makes sense.

Think of it this way.

In college, you declare a major and choose

electives that build your mastery

in a certain area of interest.

But you also have certain required courses too.

What if kids could do this in every course?

Look at your curriculum.

What are the required units?

What possible electives or branches

could students choose to study?

You might ask every student to complete the required

portions of your course, but allow freedom

to choose two or three electives in an area of interest.

Choice can build engagement.

Powerful learning happens when kids are actively engaged.

In some games, the only way to succeed is to fail repeatedly.

Failure is becoming more and more

recognized as an essential part of learning toward mastery.

The whole idea of failure becomes a way

to get more information about the level,

so that when you do succeed, it is

because of all the essential information

you gained from failing.

That makes failure seem less like game

over and a lot more like an essential part of the game.

This is called the failure dynamic.

Many successful entrepreneurs have

run several failing companies before finally succeeding.

There is even an annual conference

dedicated to learning from failure.

As teachers, how can we get better

at allowing our students to fail frequently in small ways?

Most grading systems do not allow for failure

as a way to improve learning.

One poor grade can greatly impact a student's average.

This discourages risk taking.

Allowing students to work through failure,

whether it's through a game or through more traditional types

of learning, encourages kids to take risks

and try different approaches in other aspects of their life.

Many online tools, such as Socrative or Kahoot,

allow students to participate in fun quizzes or surveys

during a lesson.

You can create a fun game show atmosphere in your classroom.

And if you want, you can even have

students compete anonymously, which allows them a safe way

to find out what concepts they may still need to work on.

By the way, you have completed 60% of the course so far.

So we have a special surprise for you.

Here is a badge you can display with pride.

You weren't expecting to get a prize.

After all, you weren't done yet.

But it feels good to celebrate the good work you've

done along the way, doesn't it?

That's the progression dynamic at work.

As gamers play a game, like Forza Horizon or other racing

games, they will sometimes receive recognition

for completing a certain number of challenges

or for passing some number of obstacles.

Many players aren't even aware that the achievement even

existed.

It's just a nice milestone to complete

on the way to winning the game.

In school, we can always find more opportunities

to provide more positive reinforcement to our students,

perhaps a batch or a way to go, to let kids know they're

on the right path to success.

You can award a OneNote sticker to students

who complete a certain number of challenges

on the way to completing a big project.

Just remember that ideally, low scores

on these formative challenges shouldn't

sink your final score.

Otherwise, you're going against the failure dynamic.

Remember, you don't always have to use games in class

to make learning stick.

By using some of the game dynamics we've talked about,

you can allow students to engage in frequent low stakes

failure as a way of getting better.

Create events in class to increase

attention and engagement.

Provide multiple paths to success in your classes,

and provide constant feedback in small ways

to guide their learning.

These are all positive ways to use the science of games

to create a more effective learning environment.

What`s the best Rep Range for gaining Size/Strength - Duration: 4:19.

what's up guys it's Patrick here today we're going to talk about rep ranges

first of all you might have asked yourself the question how many reps

should I do to gain Size or how many reps should I do to gain strength

I will cover that right now after that I'll go over some more benefits of training

heavy and training light and then at the end I'll share with you the things that

people screw up ninety percent of the time when it comes to training

okay first off you need to define what are your goals if you go to the lower end of

the spectrum one to five reps we're generally associating that with

building and developing strength next one up which would be six to ten reps

which would be more blending the benefits of the lower rep range which is strength as

I just said and the next one up which would be ten to twelve reps wich is

more muscle hypertrophy we're looking to build size and then we also have 15

and up which could be as high as thirty fifty or even more

okay now let´s go over some of the benefits of training in a lower rep range

okay so let's go over some specific benefits that heavy training will provide

well first off I believe that it's a great time to set a new intensity

to spark new growth for your body because your body generally doesn't want to

build muscle okay its calorie consuming its counterproductive in a survival (sense)

when you're trying to survive so training heavy and with the right intensity that

means one rep to rep max it's going to be a great chance

to give your body a real reason to wanting to grow

another benefit that that rep range will provide is that your work more towards the fast twitch fibers

which are generally bigger they're going to have a larger glycogen storage and

therefore with more glycogen comes more water we have a cell volumeization

effect that makes you appear bigger that's why all those power lifters look

so goddamn big they don't have such great aesthetics but they're strong as shit

okay first off when it comes to light training I need to clarify if you

do a lot of reps you're always going to use light weights but if you use light

weights you're not always going to do a lot of reps what that means I'll explain it in a different video okay

okay light training will certainly almost always

burn the most what's that going to do is it's going to help you and the other rep

ranges to get more reps out of it because you're going to develop a mental

toughness to stick it out for the last two or three gut-wrenching reps that are

going to matter the most

what light training will actually do is it'll produce metabolites and metabolic stress in your body building up lactate and

your body needs to get rid of that that will also cause hypertrophy response

okay now I'm going to share with you the biggest problems that people mostly screw

up when it comes to rep ranges

okay people get so fixated on the number 12 they don't actually care where it's

coming from so all they're trying to do is get to 12 get

from point A to point B 12 times okay but your muscles don't care about that

your muscles only know their currency which is tension and if you ignore that

and you do five shitty reps and five quality reps you're not going to get the

results that you want

okay where this number actually comes from it's from something called time under tension okay total time under tension and what that is on

12 it's 48 okay two seconds up two seconds down or one second up three

seconds down controlling the eccentric which is also one part of building

muscle and then that'll add up to four seconds of rep four seconds times 12

that´s 48 seconds okay and if you don't get to forty eight seconds that's

totally fine but you should be around that number

okay another big thing is that you don't only want to train in one range okay you need to incorporate

all ranges into your training to maximize your growth

okay the biggest problem that people have when it comes to training in rep ranges is that they

don't train a failure what do I mean by that well let's say you're trying to

work on the low end of the spectrum building strength okay trying

to do singles or doubles right and if that's not your best effort that you can

possibly put up then you're not doing it what I mean by that is that when you do

two reps that's great but if you do two reps

and you could have done ten then you're not you're not going to see the results

of that rep range will provide okay it's got to be one of my biggest pet peeves

to train to failure let alone train through failure but we´ll get to that in

another video okay that's it guys I hope you learned something today subscribe for more

What critics are saying about The Emoji Movie? Emoji Movie Review by TOP CRITICS - Duration: 2:25.

Well looks like emojis are just impressive in the text messages, not on the big screen

Early reviews for the emoji movie are in, and they don't seem too positive

As The Hollywood Reporter's John DeFore stated, "Given the right combination of inspiration,

intelligence and gifted artists, any dumb thing can be turned into an enjoyable film.

But The Emoji Movie is a very, very dumb thing, it comes nowhere near that magic combination.

It is fast and colorful enough to attract young kids, but offers nearly nothing to their

parents."

He also found fault in the film's script, which he noted as "weirdly unconvincing" and

filled with lame, stale dialogue..

Emily Yoshida at Vulture was even harder on The Emoji Movie, calling it "one of the darkest,

most dismaying films I have ever seen, much less one supposedly made for children."

She added, "Not once does this film rise above the level of humor of literally any real-world

use of a simple upside-down-face emoji . Additionally, Yoshida viewed the film's product placement

as overt and aggressive.

Glenn Kenny of NEW YORK TIMES felt much the same.

HE said "For a long time, Hollywood has been propagating the idea that the, trendingly

idiotic can be made to seem less so, by polishing it up with bright shiny gloss and enlisting

engaging talented performers and writers.

I can't be entirely certain of this, but I would say The Emoji Movie takes this notion

to the outer limits of credibility."

The last top critic is Forbes' Scott Mendelson he didn't go to hard on the movie, he said

"The Emoji Movie is neither good enough to surpass its existence, nor is it bad enough

to represent a base in pop culture cinema… a movie based around emojis isn't any more

basically awful than movies based on theme park rides or building block-based toys.

He summed up The Emoji Movie as "surface-level entertaining."

While these initial reviews of The Emoji Movie are, admittedly, quite harsh, some viewers

may still find it a good way to spend an afternoon.
