You know what you want!
Easy as f*ck for you f*ck!
We want more out of this life!
When you do chest
I mean when I when I finish to the bench press
I'm immediately sitting front of the
the mirror
and I flex
I hit the shoot on the see everything how it works, right?
I want to always see what happens
You have to feel the muscles
That's the key because then they grow!
Focus!
Why!
We started!
It's not about just taking a pill
It's not about just taking a drug
That is not bodybuilding!
It's your mindset, it's who you are

Sometimes you're sitting on the bench
When you four, five on it
And you really want to focus
And you think about your chest
and about the pectoral muscles
and then you lean back
Hard focus!
Focus on the purpose!
Focus on your why!
And focus!
On the things!
that you're willing
to give your life for it!

Daniel Negreanu Poker Lesson - Video Lesson Part 2 of 4 / Texas Holdem Rules - Duration: 8:57.
you want to be a real player you have to
learn the lingo you often hear the term
heads up or heads up play gets thrown
around and basically what that means is
it's down one-on-one action mono e mono
ok it's time for the showdown all the
veterans done it's time to show off the
goods
there's nothing sweeter than being Delta
nuts when you've got the nuts
there's no hand out there that can now
that's the stone-cold nuts
it's pretty sweet when your opponent's
going till to give away their money and
lose their cool you want to be that guy
going on till there's nothing worse than
drawing dead your opponent's got a
monster hand and it's not a card in the
world that could save you
in stacked you'll be able to find both
limit and no limit cash games when you
play cash games it's all about the money
you're buying for whatever you want to
play as long as you want and pretty much
quit whenever you want tournament play
that's what you guys see on TV all the
time
basically everyone starts the same
amount of chips once you lose all your
chips you're out of their tournament
keeps going until one guy has a mall in
stack you can choose from single table
tournaments for multi-table tournaments
in multi-table tournaments will face off
against hundreds of other players on
your way the final table if you end up
being one of the top finishers will
divide the prize money with the others
that's called makes me the money in some
tournaments there's a feature called the
rebuy in a rebuy event if you go broke
you have the option to five back in
during the rebuy period once the real I
period is over you'll have an
opportunity to add on to your existing
stacks
ok
in a tournament the blinds continue to
increase at scheduled intervals as that
happens you no longer have the need for
smaller denomination ships so what
happens then is we do what's called
coloring up creating small chips for
bigger ones if you happen to have any
hardships
well that's when we do the high card
race there are different forms of
betting structures and hold there's
always for betting rounds of course but
limit hold them that betting structure
for example let's say you're playing ten
and twenty dollar hold before the flop
you have to bet and raise in increments
of 10 after the flop again you have to
better raise in increments of 10 now on
the turn that doubles now you have to
throw out twenty bucks or raised to 40
bucks on the river once again the
increments turn twenty dollar bets
takes a lot of courage like no limit
hold'em it comes to the bedding pretty
much are no rules you can bet raise
re-raise many times as you like
of course you have to raise at least as
much as the big line but I think you got
your opponent right where you want them
well then you can do stick it all in the
first thing we need to think about when
playing texas hold'em are what hands we
should play and what has to throw away
in the next few sections i'm going to
get into specific detail about what
hands
you should play in what positions
throughout the poker school you're gonna
hear me throw around the term position
quite a bit now there are three
positions at the table early middle and
late the first three seats are generally
considered early position then we have
middle position and the button and the
two seats directly to the right of the
button will be considered late position
well the first group of hands we're
going to look at our big pairs and Ace
King suited now obviously you're going
to play one of these hands and any one
of the positions but in early position
it's really important to make sure that
you're raising to try to limit the field
a little bit you don't want to play two
kings against four players now moving
onto middle position if you've already
had some action in front of you again
it's important to raise it should be
raising a little more to protect your
hand now in late position
this is the best possible spot you could
be in for you see all the action in
front of you going to a class on every
single Street which is a huge benefit
texas holdem now again with one of his
hands
you should raise so in all three
situations you should basically raising
with these hands since you're so good
you want to put more money in the pot
now with hands like King Jack offsuit or
310 offsuit those are both decent hands
the problem with those hands come into
play when you flopped top pair with a
week kicker
let's say for example yet King jack
which is what i like to call the rookie
hand and the flop comes King 45 if you
you catch that King on the flow really
sucked into the river and if somebody
has a better quicker than you ace king
or king queen you're just gonna be
losing a lot of money with that
probably the trickiest hands to play our
those pesky middle pairs talk about
Jack's tens nines and even ate really
now from early position there's a couple
ways you can approach it
limping is sort of a cautious way to see
what happens behind you but generally
goes along with my style it would be to
raise his hands and try to sort of
isolate and maybe play against one
opponent now for middle position it
would depend on what happened ahead of
you
if nobody's raise yet will again you
play just like you would an early
position and your drinks
however if somebody's already raised in
front of you and you're looking down 28
don't know the guys raising really
position chances already got a real good
hand with eight i think i would just
call there and see a flock to catch an
ape now we've got a real hand from late
position if nobody's enter the pot yet
is a perfect kind of had you want to
attack the blinds with by making the
Rays however again if there's a raise in
front of you
I just call now if you're facing a raise
and re-raise well how can 28 or 29 to be
good
that's a time to save somebody throw it
away don't find yourself in a bad spot
eight up against a bigger pair like
Queens or kings you need to be really
careful when you're playing small pairs
in early position advisor slipping in
and trying to see the flop cheaply now
you could fold and that's probably what
the books would tell you to do the other
option would be to raise now i only
recommend raising if you feel like
you've got command of the table and that
the blinds are really on the
conservative side now for middle
position if nobody's enter the pot yet
leaned towards raising and try to attack
the blinds
however if there's already been some
whimpers well then you can limp along as
well and try to see a cheap flock now if
there's been raised already if it's
small raise maybe you can see a flop and
try to flop a set now from late position
this is ideal if nobody's out of the pot
definitely want to raise it up and
attack the blinds
however again if there's been a small
raise for some livers you can see a flop
there's nothing sweeter and calling with
two fours against the early position
raise get two aces in the upcoming Queen
64 he bets that you move all in and he
walks home with a story to tell
suited connectors now we're getting to
the fun stuff you play these hands
correctly you can win yourself a lot of
money from early position with a short
stack
just got to throw it away you got a big
step though you might be able to throw
in a small raise for deceptive purposes
now in middle position if you're facing
a raise
depends how big the raise is in relation
to your stack size the race is too big
well you just can't play however
nobody's play you can come in with a
raise and go after the blinds in Lake
position now this is where it gets fun
there's a couple members you go ahead
and Limp right along everyone's folded
around to you again you go and raise to
attack the blinds but here you can
really position player race you think
they might have aces or kings
this is perfect if you have had like
five center diamond he has a so what you
get your flop you've got him right where
you want to think about it so you fought
that straight bets you raise he sticks
it all in here like sweet i got the nut
straight he's got a story to tell his
buddies about how bad you play so the
bottom line with suited connectors it's
really all about implied odds
think of it like fishing you throwing
out the bait and then really what you're
trying to do is really a big sucker if
you get a good flop

Rogue Pastors On Social Media, Event Registration, & Video Compression | #AskBrady Episode 5 - Duration: 27:35.
- Today on the show,
we talk about rogue pastors and leaders,
taking over your precious social accounts,
and publishing things that should never be shared online.
(contemporary piano music)
Whaaaaa...
- I'm not doing it.
- Hey there and welcome to Ask Brady.
You know what that line reminded me--
You know how like you're at the movies
and oh!
It's the THX - Oh like yeah, yeah.
- For a moment it was like,
(hums THX Sound System Test)
That's what it reminded me of. - Me too.
- I was hoping that you would join in.
- No. I'm not doing that.
- You did not join in.
- No.
- Great to have you here for the fifth episode.
I'm much more excited to be here than Roxanne is,
evidently she,
oh today actually this morning,
I woke up and I realized that,
you know when you get those Facebook notifications
that's like,
you've been friends with X.
So Roxanne and I have been friends on Facebook for 10 years,
and I got the notification
that I had been on Facebook for 10 years,
two weeks ago?
So apparently you were one of the very first friends
that I ever added. - I know!
- And we need to show this picture,
'cause this was the first picture that I saw.
You can show a bunch of like Roxanne and I
from back in the day,
but there was this one picture of Roxanne and I,
and I was like,
"That's right Roxanne.
"I would one day become your boss."
- Never saw that happening.
(laughter)
- The picture was amazing.
I don't know if you could tell,
but I had like this giant swoop in the front,
and I had like spiked hair in the back.
I did a lot of silly things with my hair in high school,
but I think that that was definitely the pinnacle.
- That's what you're well known for that's for sure.
- That's like the infamous haircut of Brady
from back in the day.
- Yeah.
- If you have a question for Ask Brady,
you can always ask it #AskBrady on Twitter and Instagram.
#AskBrady in the comments on YouTube and Facebook,
and one thing that you know,
one of the reasons we started this show,
is that our audience is getting to the size,
where the number of questions that are coming in,
it's getting difficult for me to answer.
For the longest time I've always answered every question,
almost,
let's say 98% of questions with a response personally,
we're getting to the size where,
not only is company doing so much
which means I have less time,
but there's more people meaning it's hard
to answer these questions super, super well,
especially over text.
Like I got a couple great questions today over Twitter
and I was like I can't give
a reasonably quality response to this in 140 characters.
- You only have 140 characters.
Make them count.
- Yeah. Really.
I mean so,
you know make sure you hashtag AskBrady,
and if you send in the question
and I say,
"Hey would you be cool if we put this on Ask Brady?",
don't feel like offended
or don't feel hurt by it just because,
especially if I like your question
and want to put it on Ask Brady,
that's actually a compliment because it means
that more churches are having that question aside from you,
and I want to answer it in like a 5-10 minute answer
rather than a one-paragraph,
140 character quick little comment response
in between of other stuff that I'm doing.
This way I can give you a targeted,
full-minded response.
- Full-minded?
- Full minded.
- Alright.
- You never heard that? - No!
- Full dash minded?
- No!
- How about top of mind?
- No.
- That's a thing! Top of mind--
- Top of mind?
- Top of mind is a thing,
and now that you have admitted
that you did not know that was a thing,
it makes me think that full-minded can also be a thing.
I definitely did just invent full-minded,
but if top of mind is a thing.
Yeah.
These thoughts are top of mind.
- I don't think so.
- I mean I didn't even come up with it.
I just know that's a thing so,
nice try.
You are not in a great mood today.
- No...
- Oh my gosh!
Well then let's just get to the questions,
so that Roxanne can just sit back
and count her moneys,
the paycheck that she's getting.
- Yeah right.
Alright.
So the first question comes from Danny.
Danny asks,
"What's the best way to do event registration?
"We host all registration through Planning Center.
"Is it best to promote on social media
"and direct link to registration on Planning Center,
"or host the link for Planning Center on our website
"and promote that on social media?
"Or should I be using Facebook events somehow?
"What about those who aren't on social media?"
- So Danny mentioned a couple of different things
that he could do.
Facebook events,
I just responded to one
yesterday and joined a Facebook event,
which I don't remember the last time I did that,
and so... - I don't know.
- Yeah but you can do that,
have people RSVP through Facebook.
You can use something like Planning Center Events
and send people directly to that page.
You can embed something on your website.
There are a bunch of different options that Danny mentioned.
Planning Center has done a really good job over the last
24 months or so,
expanding what they're currently doing.
The first thing that they ever did obviously was,
we're gonna create a software as a service
where you can plan your church's service
down to the very last second.
This person walk up here,
these are the songs we're singing,
upload the keys,
upload the song music,
here are the announcements.
And they built that so well that they've expanded
and one of their apps is called
Planning Center Registrations.
And so you can host all of your church's registrations
through Planning Center,
and the nice thing is that if you're using
their church database Planning Center People,
which is 100% free,
that and those registrations will directly link
into the individual profiles of the people in your database.
So they're really building a great kind of holistic,
ultimate, monopolized church management platform,
which is great.
And Planning Center Registrations is great.
What I think Danny's hitting on here
is the difficulty of when you have
multiple different channels,
and he also hit on the fact that,
Danny's a guy?
- Um I think so.
- We're gonna guess by his or her Facebook photo.
- It looks like it,
but it's like far away. - Like if you were Danielle,
you could go by Danny.
- It's true.
- With and I, like D-A-N-I.
- They're by a lake it looks like.
- Wow.
Definitely a guy.
(laughter)
So you know,
what we want to have is one centralized place
where all the event registrations can actually happen.
So the way we promote it,
we can promote it through different aver,
uh d-d-different a-avernues.
Different avenues to make sure
that we get as many people in our church,
but we wanna have a singular centralized place
for the registrations to actually take place,
and this is why we're building Nucleus
coming in April
and we're so excited about it.
It's the one stop central hub for everything in your church,
event registrations, ministry sign-ups,
contact us, prayer requests, calendar,
message notes, connect card, new visitors,
everything all in one place.
Because when you have everything in one place,
that allows you to promote from different channels.
So think about like,
this is what most churches do.
The goal, here's what I want churches to do,
you have one centralized location,
Canada Dy Club Soda
(slurps)
- Ew.
- This is your centralized location
and what you will then have,
is a bunch of different lines pointing out of it,
ways that you're sending people here.
Right?
Social media, the website, live announcements,
email, word of mouth,
church lobby,
phone numbers and e-mails, like one to one stuff,
but it's all leading to the same central place.
The problem is that most churches
don't have this central place.
They have all these different avenues,
but then they also have different landing places.
They don't have one central hub they have multiple hubs.
So now,
you got three different places,
go to our app,
go to our website,
talk to Sheila.
Sheila.
- Classic.
- And now what you have is
three different central places
where you can take your next step,
combined with the same number of original avenues
to get to those centralized places.
And so now your possible options have,
you know,
what's the you know, times it,
but you like...
- Multiply?
- No like, when it's like oh!
You exponentially create more options like by three.
So you need to have the one centralized place
and that way you can promote through different places,
but churches don't do that.
They have go to our app, go to our website,
talk to Sheila, go to this phone number,
go to the church lobby,
and then they promote all through different places.
And that's where the confusion within church happens.
Nobody knows where to go.
They know that there's an app,
they know that there's a website,
they know that they can go to the lobby,
they know that they can talk to Pastor Sheila,
but they don't have confidence
that when they go to those actual places,
they're going to be able to do what they want.
Because maybe Pastor Sheila
can say yes and help with one thing,
but the app is where you need to go for something else.
You need a one location,
that way your church always knows where to go,
and you can consistently promote
through different avenues to the same place.
So to answer Danny's question,
if you want to use Planning Center's Registrations
for all your registrations all the time, great.
Just make it that centralized location.
If you're gonna wait 'til we launch Nucleus in April
and you want to use that, even better.
It can be your centralized place for everything.
And if you wanna use your website, great.
You gotta have one central place.
So make a decision.
It doesn't really matter which one you use,
there are pros and cons,
make that decision internally,
but choose one place.
One place people.
One place,
multiple avenues.
Not multiple places and multiple avenues!
- Right.
- Do you have anything to add?
- No.
- Of course.
(laughter)
- Question two comes from Tessa.
Tessa says,
"I watched the video on limiting your video announcements
"to three-ish announcements.
"Love it.
"My question is,
"does anybody have other ideas
"on the best way to communicate events,
"small groups, men's, women's, ministries, etc.
"to the people if we cut them out of the announcements?"
- We have this rule of thumb that says,
if an announcement doesn't apply
to 50% or more of the congregation,
that doesn't warrant a live or video announcement
on a Sunday morning.
Meaning if the audience
that you're sharing the announcement with,
whether you're sharing it through video
or live from the person talking on stage,
if it doesn't apply
to 50% or more of the people in your auditorium,
don't announce it.
It's a waste of time.
So the question here is,
what do we do with those announcements then?
There are so many different channels and avenues
that we can promote through.
We just talked about this on the last question.
You can have private Facebook groups for the men's ministry,
for the women's ministry.
You can have,
like you can do actual,
text blasts through certain
(mumbles)
Oh! Text to Church is a great one.
So you can have everybody on a text thing,
and then you can text all the women's ministry through that.
You can have a Slack thread,
you can have an email newsletter
that only goes out to that specific person.
Really what you wanna do is find what works best
for each particular ministry.
So if the women for instance,
in your women's ministry
kind of like tend to be older,
and maybe they don't wanna be checking you know,
a Slack thread or something like that,
maybe a text,
automatic text blast to them
will be the perfect way to do that.
But there are so many different other ways to do it.
This is what churches,
like this is what they have trouble with.
They say well,
there are no other ways to get it out to them.
We've gotta do a live announcement.
Live announcements are probably one of the worst ways
to get information out to people.
The average person is attending church
one out of every two Sundays,
and so,
getting information to people via that avenue,
where they actually get in their car,
drive to church, listen to the announcements,
hopefully retain the information, take action on it,
that's actually probably one of the least effective
and efficient ways of getting information out.
You've got all these people that are saying,
give us the Sunday morning announcement,
give us the Sunday morning announcement,
and I'm like,
maybe, but it probably won't even do that much good.
You get a private Facebook group,
you get a private SMS text,
you get into a private Facebook,
oh sorry, a private Slack thread,
Slack channel,
you get an email,
like all of those things are probably going to
get a better response than a live announcement.
And if your ministry is smaller,
get on the phone with people.
If you've got like 10 or less,
get on the phone,
because that's like the easiest way to leverage that.
As you scale,
you can't go one to one with things as much,
but when you're smaller like that,
do the most high-touch interaction that you can.
Text everybody individually, email individually,
call individually.
- Makes sense.
So the third question comes from Jeff.
Jeff says,
"We are revamping our online presence soon.
"One question about the Facebook pages.
"With the young adult's and the youth Facebook page,
"is this usually overseen by one person,
"or does each ministry oversee it themselves
"with guidelines decided on by leadership?"
- If you've been part of a church
for any length of time where you are in charge
of the primary communications,
you have been the victim of a rogue pastor or leader,
taking over a social media channel,
an email channel,
some type of communication channel,
whether physical or digital,
and doing something that should not have been done.
We see this all the time with lead pastors.
You have someone who builds a style guide,
they build a brand guide,
and they're like, when we post on social,
it's gonna be with these colors,
with these fonts,
with these types of visuals,
and this is the message we're gonna have.
It's gonna be hopeful,
it's gonna be one of invitation,
everything is like dialed in,
and this is how we're gonna create
a consistent brand, look and voice.
And then the lead pastor jumps in,
drops like a papyrus-looking
series graphic,
and it's like don't miss this,
watch my cool promo,
and you're like, well,
all my work has been undone in a single rogue moment.
Thanks Pastor Sheila.
And so (laughs) we all have been there
and we know what it's like.
So this question is coming from that place right?
So we've talked in previous Ask Brady episodes about
how if you
as a minister within church,
have your own worship experience outside of Sunday morning,
for instance young adults.
Young adults meet on Monday nights
and they have their own worship experience.
Well if that's the case,
that would warrant giving them their own Facebook page.
Not a Facebook group, their own Facebook page.
Their own Instagram account.
So then, who's in charge of those?
'Cause if the Communications Director,
Social Director, like Social Media Pastor,
Media Director,
whatever the role is officially titled,
if they're the ones in charge
of all the regular church pages
and social digital outlets,
does that mean that they're also in charge
of all the ministry pages?
This can be intimidating for people that are in that role
because I mean they're trying hard enough
to get out quality content consistently
just on the church's social outlets.
Now they've gotta worry about
oh, just as many,
for the young adults,
for the youth ministry,
maybe even more.
It become intimidating,
but at the same time,
we don't wanna give up control,
because what if we give it to someone
who creates a totally different voice?
What I would say is,
just as these ministries deserve their own Facebook page,
and their own social accounts,
their own website even,
similarly they would also warrant their own style guide
and their own Social Director,
and their own
person that's in charge of those communications.
Now if you as the Communications Director as a whole,
wanna take care of everything, great!
Take the control,
say I'm gonna do it also.
Make sure that if you do that,
the quality of the content being published doesn't suffer.
And you have to kind of take inventory
and be very self-aware of your own self,
and be like am I the type of person
that can do this consistently,
while not neglecting my other responsibilities,
and also,
do I have the right voice for this demographic?
If you are not 18 and under,
as a high school or middle school student,
you might have significant trouble creating
social and digital and online content for that demographic.
You might think you can do it,
but then you'll like,
you know,
post some kind of meme that says cash me outside
that you think is funny,
but it's like completely inappropriate and weird,
and people are like oh my gosh, you know.
Like no. Please.
Stop dabbing.
You know, we're not doing that anymore.
Like you know you can think--
- So last year.
- I'm gonna post Soldier Boy,
It'll be sweet.
It's like wait, that was 12 years ago.
You know, so,
you have to,
that's why you have to be self-aware too,
because you're probably the one making the decision here,
so you have to honestly assess your own capabilities
and your own age,
your own understanding of different demographics of culture
and make the decision that way.
Now, let's talk about if you actually did hand it over
to someone within the ministry itself.
I think a great way to kind of you know,
mitigate any potential...
distasteful posts,
posts that you wouldn't wanna be associated with your church
not inappropriate stuff,
just stuff that doesn't feel like that's not us,
is you could oversee it and then delegate
to that individual or to those individuals.
And the way that you would do that is like,
you're still in charge,
but you're not in charge of the actual content creation,
and the week after week production.
This way you can focus on what you're doing,
delegate to someone else,
and kind of be a leader in that role.
So what you'd wanna do is,
every single thing that you've done
for your own online channels meaning
brand guide,
visual guide,
things that you know you want to be known for.
The way that you want people to feel
and the emotions that you want to elicit
when people encounter your content online,
those same kind of like goals and values,
teach those to the other person.
Help them create a visual guide.
Be like look,
if you don't like our fonts,
let's try to find some different weights
within the same font family,
or let's try to find something that's you know,
feels more you.
And do everything you've done for your own role,
but teach them.
And this is how you grow,
you know,
as a church with what you're doing online and digitally.
If you try to do it all yourself,
which I would do,
because I am a control freak.
- It's true.
- Here's a story.
Last night,
it's like 10:30 p.m.,
I'm in bed lights out,
wife and I trying to fall asleep.
And I realize oh it's Wednesday night
we're posting a new blog post Thursday morning.
So I get up,
Britney's like, "Where are you going?",
I'm like I have to work, she's like ugh (laughs).
I go downstairs to our iMac,
boot it up and I'm like,
I have not checked the post that's going out tomorrow.
And I'm like checking and checking and I'm like oh okay,
this link needs to be changed,
this link needs to be changed,
oh there's a little bit of operate spacing here,
fix it up, it take about five minutes,
click update I'm like ahhh.
It'll be good for tomorrow morning
at 3 a.m. when in goes live.
Now Roxanne and our editor,
our copy editor,
are the ones in charge of getting all those posts ready.
We got to the point where I was like I'm just gonna write,
export like you know the Byword text file
over to Roxanne and our Copy Editor, Monica
and they'll take care of it.
And does this mean that some mistakes have been made
that I wouldn't make?
Well of course.
But like dozens upon dozens of hours have been saved
and I've been able to consistently post
every single week based on this
because we focused on what I need to focus on,
and they focus on what they need to focus on.
Has it eliminated mistakes entirely? No.
I had to get up and do a quick check last night,
but that's all.
Five minutes, one night,
rather than like five hours doing the editing,
and the prep, and the WordPress,
and then you've gotta get the images ready
for Facebook and Twitter,
and then you've gotta add in the links and then, right?
So,
if you want to be like me, if you are like me
and you wanna take control over everything,
you know that's great,
but what's gonna happen is eventually
you're gonna hit a limit
where the amount of stuff you're taking control of
means that everything that you already are responsible for
starts to take a hit on quality and consistency.
Self-awareness is going to allow you to know
at what point that is.
Maybe you have some bandwidth in your existing role now,
that you can take on these new ministries.
But if not,
you've gotta make that decision, make that call.
Delegate and lead in the way
that you have structured your own ministry,
teach others to do the same.
- Right.
So question four is from Jeremy Roberts.
Jeremy says,
"Would you recommend churches put sermon videos
"on Vimeo or on YouTube?"
- It's a funny question because for me,
someone who loves video,
loves cinematography and film,
that's really where I got my start in the world of church,
Vimeo is very enticing
because it has much friendlier compression guidelines
and compression algorithms than YouTube.
Jonah's, the guy behind the camera,
Jonah say hi.
- [Jonah] Hey.
- And I struggle every single week with this,
there's this weird weird thing on iPhone 7s at least,
if you watch what we post online and on YouTube,
please check this for me
and let me know if this happens to you,
if I go into YouTube right now
and watch one of our pieces of content,
last week's Ask Brady for instance,
even though the lighting in here is gorgeous
and everything is properly exposed,
the light areas of the image,
so namely this side of my face
always, always look like they're clipping.
Fully overexposed.
I will then look at the source file
and it will be stunningly beautiful,
but for some reason,
YouTube
on iPhone 7 Plus,
takes that and ruins it,
because their compression is junk
and they hate filmmakers and want to see them die.
But you know what filmmakers?
We don't have anything to say about it
because everyone is on YouTube.
And so when it comes to,
and this is where it pains me to say this,
I will always
prioritize audience and attention
over what looks good
and what's cool,
the reason being,
because it doesn't matter how good it looks,
it doesn't matter how amazing the color grading remained
and the color shifts on Vimeo,
do their compression algorithms were minimal
but on YouTube they're blowing everything--
If no one's watching it doesn't matter.
And this has been a really long journey for me
being able to come to this place,
because for the longest time I always prioritized
let's say perfection over publication.
Meaning until something is absolutely,
100% perfect,
down to the final
last word,
comma,
and semicolon,
we're not gonna hit publish.
And the reason was because
I wanted everything to be perfect.
And since the beginning of 2017,
we've had a shift where I've been like okay
I'm just gonna prioritize instead,
attention and audience over perfection.
And what have we done?
We've published three,
four times as much content,
our audience has grown at a much faster rate,
no paid advertising,
just based on word of mouth
'cause we're publishing good stuff.
And yeah, are there mistakes?
Absolutely.
Have I been getting some more critical feedback in response
because not everything is as polished,
meaning sometimes I'll say something
that isn't entirely thought out,
full dash minded, you know,
like I'll make up a word,
or I'll say something like lacking
the perfect amount of context,
or I'll say something you know an idea
that has really been ruminating for me
and is important but it's not fully kind of fleshed out,
meaning you know,
it can kind of sound maybe insensitive,
or over the top, or sensational, or hyperbolic.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
But because we're prioritizing
publishing over perfection,
the good far outweigh the bad.
So if you publish your videos online,
yes, go with YouTube Jeremy Roberts.
Why?
Because the audience is there.
We have an amazing course inside Pro Church Academy
called Serve the World with YouTube,
and it walks through the exact process that we use
for our YouTube strategy.
What you can do with YouTube is you can actually,
they still have a system where you can
kind of gain the algorithm using the right keywords,
and tagging, and description strategies,
and you can find keywords that have a high search rate
but a low actual video rate,
meaning you publish a video,
you use the right strategy,
your videos can rank extremely high,
page one if not number one on YouTube search results
for certain keywords.
You do that once a week for two years
and you'll have an unbelievable YouTube presence
that adds in hundreds of new subscribers
every month without trying.
It works on autopilot.
You can do that with YouTube.
On Vimeo your videos will look nicer.
- And people like me won't notice.
- And that's it.
Your videos will look nicer,
but no one's gonna see them.
And so what's the goal with our churches?
And we talked about this before.
Every church mission statement can essentially
be distilled down to two things;
the Great Commission,
and the Greatest Commandments,
love God and love others
like
yourself?
Love God and love your neighbor?
- Yeah I think so.
- There are too many different like versions of that,
that I like started combining them and it didn't seem right.
Anyway Great Commission, Greatest Commandments,
love God and love your neighbor.
Every church mission statement can be distilled down
to those two things.
Man, for the four year degree in Theology,
that was like bad.
- It was.
- Okay. Anyway.
Let's blow past that.
Every church mission statement can be distilled down
to those two things.
Well, what do those two things require?
They require people,
and beyond that they require the attention of people.
And so if you prioritize looks and perfection,
which I have done,
for years,
so I don't wanna like sit here and pretend like
you know I'm on my high horse,
'cause this has been a big, big mistake of my own,
for years.
To prioritize that over people and their attention
just doesn't make sense if your mission statement is
what every church's mission statement is.
So yes, YouTube over Vimeo,
again and again and again.
Sacrifice your video's beauty
for people actually watching it.
You have been unbelievably quiet Roxanne,
throughout this episode on Ask Brady.
Do you have anything that you wanna share
that I haven't asked you yet?
- Classic like kind of interview question.
- Every last question in the Pro Church podcast
is that, yeah.
- No I'm good.
I'm just sick, so I'm just tired.
- Oh, yeah.
It has been unseasonably warm north of the border
here in Canada.
It has been 14 degrees Celsius for like a week,
which I think is like 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- I don't know.
- I'm thinking 50-ish.
Someone can check that and post it in the comments
but if you want your question answered on Ask Brady,
#AskBrady Twitter and Instagram.
#AskBrady in the comments on Facebook and YouTube.
Thanks for watching.
Question for you today is,
have you ever fallen prey like I have,
to prioritizing perfection over publishing?
And if you're an artist or creative,
you surely have had this happen once or twice.
Or a billion times before,
so feel free to share that with us in the comments below.
Thanks for watching.
Publish a new session,
a new episode of Ask Brady every single Friday,
so thanks for watching.
We'll be back next week with the new episode
and if you have questions get them in
and you might be featured on a future episode of Ask Brady.
Thanks for watching.

How to Make Thumbnails for YouTube Videos Free With Pixlr! (2016/2017) YouTube Thumbnail Tutorials ! - Duration: 4:40.
what's up guys i'm rocky here and today
i am going to be teaching you how to make
a thumbnail for free using pixlrs let's
get started.
so the reason in going to using pixlrs
to make thumbnails because it's really
simple software. it's free and it also
requires absolutely no downloads and
there's a ton of free photo editing
software is out there that you can use
but pixlr is just really quick and it works on
all devices and you don't need anything
so the first you want to do is go ahead
and make an account if you have all you
have to do is click Sign Up put in your
email and password is going to create an
account for you. once you make your
account scroll down and you're going to
see these versions of pixlrs click on
launch web apps and it's going to open
up the platform.Click on create a new image
you can name it whatever you want and
just going to create thumbnail now and
make sure the width is 1280 and the
height of the image is 780 and check the
transparent check box.
click ok now
you can easily move the tools around by
dragging them as you see. so i'm going to
drag the tools the first we're going to
be doing is adding a background to our
thumbnail so we're going to head over to
google images and just search for it
just make sure the size is larger so the
image is not get stretched and you don't
have to lose any quality to it
there we go so now we're going to go
back into place to go to file open image
and then just open up at thumbnail image
it going to open up a new file so just
make sure that file selected by clicking
on control a and then click ctrl c and
then go back to the main file and click
ctrl v
and then we can close the previous file
because you don't need it anymore and we
can just put know and there we go so we
can position the thumbnails by moving
around with a point or two and we can
also resize it by going to let it and
then click free transform
and as you can see we can edit the
actual image now I want to make this a
bit darker so enjoying to be adjusting
the brightness and contrast which is
under the adjustment tab just go to
adjustments click on brightness contrast
and you didn't make the brightness of
bit lower
this is just the text end up more want
to put it in and press ok and we're good
to go now we're going to add some sort
of an image for thumbnails we want to go
back and still images now of course this
imaging whatever fits your thumbnail so
I'm just going to go for an epic space
and make sure it is a PNG files with
background is transparent so I like this
one
as you can see it has a checkered
background so it's transparence click
view image right click save image and
make sure that the file is png once again
and then clicks off to go back into
pixlrs go to file open image and then
open up that file which is called an
emoji copy pasted and just press ctrl a ctrl-c
have to go back to the main
file press ctrl-v now with the pointer
you can once again move around the file
for the image just make sure that the
layer is selected on the image and then
with a point or two you can just move it
around so i'm going to put it right here
and then you can go to edit free
transform here you can also make it
bigger or smaller just transform the
image that looks good
the final day we have to do is just add
some text to the thumbnails are going to
click on the text over here click on the
layer in this dialog box is going to
open up where you can type in any text
you want so i'm going to type up a
thumbnail ever you can change the font
style size and format here
there we go our thumbnail is now
complete save the file just like me
of course you put more time into it you
can make it look nicer this is just a
quick example of how you can use all the
tools
yeah that's all if this video help you
please be sure to give it a big thumbs
up and if you want more videos like this
please hit that subscribe button below

February #AskAleksi - Viral Video, Japan Travels and Upcoming Events FIN/ENG SUB - Duration: 13:02.
Wassup guys, it's Aleksi here and today we are vlogging in Finnish!
Why? Because recently my channel got a lot of new Finnish viewers
I want to welcome them to my channel with this Finnish video. :)
Today I'm gonna talk what's been going on lately, current stuff and some future things too.
Also I'll answer a few questions you guys sent.
And yea, recently I made a video that went viral. (lols)
I have no idea how that happened. In case you don't know, I taught a Japanese YouTuber Finnish.
i made him say funny Finnish expressions, slang and tongue twisters too.
and you guys ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE VIDEO! :D That's awesome!
The video has already more than 220k views and it's a less than a month since the video was published.
1000+ comments, 4000+ likes just simply great guys!
Thanks for watching, commenting and likething that video. :) Great that you found your way to my channel.
Many of you commented that Ten's Finnish was great, but why was that so?
That's because speakig FIN is easy for JPN people and vice versa.
That's a fact. I realized the same thing when I started to learn JPN 1.5 years ago.
The next question we have is why I had picked lots of slang stuff for the video and not formal expressions.
For example no one really says "Minä olen *name*" nowadays if you meet someone.
Finnish language is almost all about casual speech aside from a few exceptions.
I wanted to teach useful stuff that people actually use in spoken Finnsh.
Well we did have some random stuff like "Lähdetään helvettiin tästä keilahallista." and "sytytystulppa"
But the point of the video was to be entertaining and make you guys laugh.
Also people had asked a lot if I'm Finnish. I am 100% Finnish. I come from Central Ostrobothnia.
Both of my parents are Finnish.
Also, why don't I do videos in Finnish, was asked. Let me tell you why.
For me personally, internationality is a really important thing. Speaking English and hanging out with internationals is what I want to do.
That's also one core thing about this channel. In addition, I want bring Finland and Finnish stuff out for the world.
And English is used almost world wide, except in Japan. They're pretty bad at English.
That's the reason,. But cos so many Finns found my channel, my sub count went from 700 to 2100 in a few weeks.
Thanks everyone once more for that! :))
I'm thinking of starting doing some videos in Finnish too. Maybe a few times in a month or so.
If you have any video ideas, please write in the comments below. I'd like to hear your opinion about my channel and stuff.
Let's take the next question.
Oh yea and before that I want to give shoutout to a few people here.
These people are regularly interacting on my channel, commenting, liking etc. Let's give a thumbs up & shoutout to them. :)
Keep up the good work!
Saekka asks: "How much has your JPN improved during your stay? Can you books/watch TV shows without subs etc?
A short answer is hell yea. I studied 6 months in Finland and here at the uni for about a year.
I also learned a lot on my free time. By talking to Japanese people etc. I can have conversations with people.
If the topic is more specific, I probably have trouble with the vocabulary. But I can manage my everyday life in JPN by myself.
I don't really read books, but I can read signs, menus at the restaurant etc.
For example I watch Dragon Ball Super with subs at the moment, but I first try to listen, what they say and then compare that to the subs.
And I realized that I can understand around 85% what they are saying and I'm really happy about that.
However, I haven't tried yet watching a whole episode without subs. I could give it a try.
But my answer is: yes.
Also, I went to travel around Japan a bit for two and a half weeks.
First, I took a plane from Kobe to Sapporo and went for the snow festival for four days.
All the Sapporo videos are already out go and check out the playlist.
They're in English, but it's easy to understand and fun!
Then, I went to Hakodate for a few days. After that I took a ferry to Aomori, then to Hachinohe, Sendai, Nagano and Nagoya.
Everyday I took videos and I just need to edit them for you. Btw I was travelling alone.
The trip was interesting as I had lot's of different types of accomondations.
Such as manga cafe, there's a video about that go check it out.
Also in hostel, capsule hotel, and for the first time I tried Couchsurfing, which was a nice experience.
I also stayed at a friend's place too. Lots of different stuff. That was a lot of fun.
I had so much interesting foods as well. You can see them in the videos.
I'll try to edit the videos for you as soon as I can. There's like 10 videos in the queue lol.
Good stuff! Let's take the next question. It's from Saekka again.
I could make a whole video about this topic to be honest.
What kind of stuff will you miss and not miss about Japan after you go back?
I think I have more the things I will miss on my mind at the moment.
For instance, the convenience stores, might sound a bit dumb, but they are damn convenient. They're always open and they're everywhere.
You can always go and buy something you need, like evening snack, pens, do printing, beer etc.
Basically they got all you need all the time.
In Finland everything closes around 10-11 PM so it's not possible there.
Food is another thing I will miss most likely. I'm kinda even on this as on the other hand food is delicious here,
but then again it doesn't really make me full here.
Culture is another thing. Japan is awesome cos there are so many awesome things to experience.
Like temples, shrines, robot restaurants, karaokes, manga cafes etc.
and yesterday I went to a reptile cafe. Videos about that coming out later.
This kind of fun, diverse stuff I'm gonna miss definitely. Because Finland is kinda boring, isn't it?
I've also enjoyed JPN language a lot too.
One thing I don't really miss is the social awkwardness. Finns are considered pretty shy too, but in Japan it's kinda magnified.
Here it's nearly completely out of the question to go to talk to strangers, so it's kinda difficult to encounter and meet people.
This is a good question. I probably make a separate video for this one later, when I get back to Finland, as I kinda realize everything then I think.
About my channel next. Exactly in three weeks I'll be leaving for Hong Kong
The year passed really fast. That's some tough stuff.
But there will be more videos in Finland. And as you might have seen, there will be two videos per week, Tuesdays and Fridays.
I've been also thinking about doing a Live Stream of my monthly Q & A videos.
I think it's easier to pick up and answer your questions that way. I'll be happy to answer those.
Besides, It's a better chance to get to know you guys better. You guys are located all around the world, so would be nice.
Would be epic to get to hang out with you guys live.
I just need to figure out how I should do it cos there are both Finns and internationals watching.
Probably I'll do it English, but if necessary we can have some Finnish stuff too.
Let me know in the comments below, what you guys think about it.
Maybe the next Q & A might be a LIVE stream then, if get things figured out.
That's something I've been thinking about.
And of course write a comment for additional ideas. :)
We had one more question here. Again from Saekka. You should follow Saekka's example and be active too!
Is there anything Finland should learn from Japan or vice versa?
Yes there are. I can think of things JPN should learn from Finland.
This is another good video idea by the way.
One kinda easy thing to mention is the school system. I think the Finnish system is better.
Even though I haven't been to the Japanese system, excluding university,
I watched a document, where they said, that in JPN schools, the kids are kinda ranked right from the start.
Who are good, average and weak learners and stuff, with some sort of tests.
However, I'm not completely sure if this is the case, but that's what they said.
As a result, the kids kinda have to compete against each other all the time.
In Finland, when I used be in the school, everyone were treated and taught equally. I think that's good.
Secondly, the instruction of language is much better in Finland.
In Japan, they believe strongly that having good scores on tests is enough.
They don't really care about actually using and speaking the language, which doesn't make any sense to me.
In Finland, they focus on learning to speak and communicate with the language. And in fact in variety of languages.
We have to learn English and Swedish, but it's quite common to pick up a fourth language, like German, Russian, French etc.
In Finland you learn to use the language, whereas in Japan you don't.
Besides, the Finnish education system is free. You don't have to pay single dime to get educated. We have no such things as tuition fees etc.
Unlike in Japan. I'll probably make a dedicated video on this topic later.
But yea that's all for today. Thanks again for tuning to my channel I'll give you a big thumbs from here.
Remember to give thumbs up this way and welcome to my channel.
I hope to see you guys again on my channel in the future too.
Have a great weekend and see you again! Sayonara!
